Everyone at Gamma was so friendly and helpful and the shop itself was chill and clean. They have an awesome jewelry selection at a range of price points. Kira was my piercer and she did a phenomenal job with my orbital piercing, which is healing perfectly so far! As someone who has a fear of needles, I felt she did a great job keeping the atmosphere calm and comfortable while making sure I was talked through every step of the process. (Also, such a blast to connect over our shared connection to Milwaukee!) I will definitely be having her do my future piercings!

I got my first nostril piercing done a few weeks ago and I have to say I had an amazing experience. Matt was my piercer and he was so kind and he explained every step thoroughly to help ease my nerves. All the staff there were great and took their time to explain cleaning and jewelry care and honestly it was a very comfortable and non judgemental environment. Definitely was worth the drive and the price.

What a beautiful place to get pierced! Immediately as you walk in you are greeted and welcomed. The employees are fabulous and knowledgeable. The way you get to look at the jewelry is unlike any other piercing studio I’ve been in, and they carry only the best jewelry. It’s squeaky clean from the front door to the bathroom. Kira, our piercer, made the whole room calm and comfortable. She walked us through every step of the process and before you knew it, we had beautiful nose piercings! I couldn’t have asked for a better experience and will be back for size downs and jewelry changes!

Very friendly staff. My ear piercings closed after many, many years of being pierced. We were moving, and I was desperate to get them reopened. I walked in off the street, not knowing I needed an appointment. They were extremely friendly and very accommodating. I had to wait a short time due to lack of appointment but it was worth it. The young lady did a great job. I wish I could remember her name, though. She was very knowledgeable and extremely friendly. Its definitely a great place for piercings.

In 2019 Jeff pierced my ears for second holes in each ear at their old store off of Forest. He did a great job! Their place was clean and tidy and they follow strict protocols with sanitization. They give you a lot of after care info too. It was top notch!Over the years I haven’t always worn earrings and one of the newer holes shrunk up a lot. I had trouble getting an earring in and poked and prodded it so much it was practically oozing. I realized that if it wasn’t starting to close, all the irritation I caused would probably make it close more. I waited a few days for the irritation to go away and it seemed harder than ever to get an earring in. I went to their new store on Liberty and Kaylee helped me! She found the exit and entrance and could see that the hole had shrunk. She did her magic and I now have a new earring in the hole that luckily was able to be stretched rather than re-pierced. Both times the skill level was exceptional as was the cleanliness and also courtesy level! Such a great place to go! I will never go anywhere else as long as they are here!

Great experience! My sons got their ears pierced. Nathaniel did an amazing job explaining everything, making them comfortable and asking permission before doing each step. Very clean, their piercings look great! It is appointment only, but Nathaniel was able to shift an appointment to fit us in. Great customer service. Just an FYI if youre taking a minor, youll need a birth certificate, I should have looked before heading in, I couldve saved myself a trip back home.

I’ve gotten my helix pierced by Tinker and just got my nose pierced by Matt, excellent experience both times!Matt was super kind and knowledgeable, I’ve had my nose pierced at other places in the past and this is the best experience I had even with pain being minimalStaff was really helpful too in picking out a good size stud because I would have looked crazy with the one I originally picked out lolLiked that there was also more affordable jewelry available too

I have a piercing that was done by another piercer who is not always readily available so I called Gamma. I need to remove my piercing for a medical procedure and I need a taper to get it back in. I asked if I could purchase one from them and they said we can just give you one.When I arrived, I was promptly greeted and I explained that I called earlier in the day about the taper. The front desk employee was quick to make recommendations and answer the questions I had.Just from my initial experience, I will gladly be going back.Thank you,Ryan

Very professional, very welcoming and a good experience. Took the time to ensure my piercings were lined up properly, and answered all my questions. Their piercers also have a ton of training and cred in the industry- certifications, published writings on piercing, and much more.They do a great job with the aftercare + piercing prep having videos. They have saline solution and sterile cotton tipped applicators at a fairly reasonable price and are very willing to help you learn how to care for your piercing.As others have said it is a bit pricy, but to support a locally owned, LGBTQ business that cares for the community and ensures you’ll get top quality care, I found it to be worth it for a first time piercing.

Ive been super happy with every piercing Ive received here. Everyone does a great job from helping you pick jewelry, to placement, to troubleshooting healing. I also really appreciate that theyre still masking!!!This latest trip my mother in law came as well and was able to get a couple of old piercings reopened which was amazing!Id recommend gamma to anyone, Ive had such a great time here and Im so excited to keep working on my project ear!!!

Everyone I’ve met at Gamma Piercing has been kind, caring, and inviting. The shop is clean, bright, and a has a great selection of jewelry. Many piercing or tattoo shops I’ve been to in the past have felt intimidating and unwelcoming. I got my nostril pierced with Gamma and I have been back 2x for jewelry changes. I love they offer glass retainers in case you need to remove your piercing for something.

They took great care of both of my daughters 10 and 14. They were very clear on proper cleaning and neither of them have had any issues with infections. They are very professional and made both of them feel at ease.

After much research, we brought our daughter in for her piercing. We could not be happier with the professionalism, care, warmth and expertise displayed during the experience. The staff were all extremely knowledgeable, answered all questions thoroughly, went over every single step of the process verbally and made sure she was comfortable the entire time. They also provide literature and an after care kit that includes a whole box of sterile cotton applicators for the saline wash. Their selection of jewelry for 1st time piercers was also impressive. I highly recommend this shop for any child, or person.

I had an appointment with Matt yesterday to get my nose pierced in three spots. It was a wonderful experience he was very sweet and the ladies up front were so helpful both on the phone and in person. They have a phenomenal selection of jewelry.

Absolutely PHENOMENAL staff!! I got a last minute craving for a piercing, they didnt have one same day, but immediately told me a Sunday slot had just opened due to cancellation. They were super friendly from the moment I walked in the door, also, the shop is spectacularly tidy! Tinker was an absolute professional and one of the best piercers Ive ever experienced (Ive used a lot). So personable, reasonable, and knowledgeable. His swift hands made my rather sensitive piercing an absolute breeze. 10/10 recommend Gamma Piercing, and I will personally be a return customer for life 🥰

I got my ears pierced for the first time at 32 years old, and Nathaniel was so friendly, informative, and caring. He talked me through the whole process, and tolerated my nervous joking (lol).My only regret was buying jewelry that was teeny tiny. I didnt really comprehend how small the gems were until they were in my ears. A month later, one of them got pushed into my ear from the front. It was painful, and I didnt know what to do. I made an appointment and Kaylee helped me by pushing it back through, and replaced the tiny gems with larger titanium discs. After that incident, my ear healed pretty quickly. The team at Gamma is first class, they will take care of you all the way.

I cannot say enough good things about Gamma! Every staff member was so kind and welcoming. We loved how the piercers communicated every step of the process. Our daughters piercing went so smoothly, and her ears have been so healthy in healing (with no redness or swelling or bleeding.) One earring fell out on the playground and Gamma fit us in between clients to skillfully replace the piercing.

Had a great experience getting two piercings (flat & 3rd lobe) yesterday at Gamma. The TL;DR version: their jewelry selection is amazing, they were super patient with my indecisiveness, and theyre very professional and super clean (I think my piercer, Kira, changed her gloves at least 3 times). Overall, would highly recommend. I am just sad that I cant return since Im from out of town.1. Jewelry selection: great choice from BVLA, Neometal, others. I can be indecisive about my piercing jewelry because I know Ill want something that matches my current curation and that Ill be happy with for a long time. They were super patient with me and even made a perfect suggestion I hadnt initially considered.2. Scheduling. I appreciate that theyre appointment only. I hadnt scheduled in advance and I had a pretty tight time window. They were able to fit me in within a couple of days and, even better, I was able to get in on the same day after signing up for the wait-list. No guarantees that this will always happen, but it was nice to see the wait-list work well.3. I had a lot of questions and needed a lot of things done - two new piercings, downsizing, and just checking on how some recent piercings are going. They helped me through all questions without being impatient or losing focus even though I knew they had other appointments coming up.4. Unexpected, nice touches: I spent a decent amount and, because of that, got a free aftercare kit. While the items in the kit may not be very expensive, its a nice bonus. Ive certainly spent $$$ at other piercing studios and did not get complimentary aftercare.

I did my research on piercing studios in Ann Arbor, and my choice came down to Gamma, and another well known downtown studio. I reached out to both with questions and the other place never replied to me. Gamma, however, emailed me back within 24 hours, which really shows how well their customer service is even in the initial process. I booked an appointment there easily and was impressed by the studio. I had never been there before but the place is clean and comfortable, with a range of beautiful jewelry and pieces to choose from. Amanda and Tyler greeted me and we went over what I wanted done. My ears werent the best size for what I had envisioned, but they quickly came up with an alternate plan and picked out the perfect stud that would look great. The piercing itself was quick and painless. Tyler was so personable and put me at ease, and Amanda was kind and informative on the aftercare and cash out process. Yes, this is more expensive than your mall piercing, but it is so worth it knowing you are getting high quality materials and safe and sanitary piercing. Would definitely recommend Gamma to anyone looking to add some new piercing(s) to their life!

My daughter and her friend just got their ears pierced here and had a truly wonderful experience from beginning to end. It’s a beautiful shop and the staff did an amazing job making them feel comfortable with each step of the process. They were meticulous and made the girls feel so special. It was a far cry from the mall piercing I had when I was a kid. Can not recommend enough!

Today was my second time at Gamma (my first visit was for my consultation), and I just love the atmosphere of this studio! The studio is extremely clean and everyone I encountered at Gamma was so nice, helpful, and knowledgeable! Shout out to Jude for helping me pick my new jewelry and for being patient with me while it took me forever to decide and Tinker for my new flat piercing! He talked me through the entire process, made me feel comfortable, and the piercing itself wasn’t painful for me at all! Thank you again! Can’t wait for my next piercing!

Great service, and they take Covid guidelines very seriously here.Selection of jewelry could be better, but I do like how they have a strong focus on having the highest quality body jewelry on the market in stock. They are also on the only places where you can buy NeilMed’s fine mist piercing after care for $10 a can. This stuff is the BEST for cleaning out ear piercings. A must for your healthy healing. I thought I could cheap out and use my own sea salt solution that’s worked fine for other piercings in the past, but the nozzle on this bottle makes cleaning a million times easier than any other at home DIY spray bottle or other saline sprays brands in stores.I got my daith pierced by Kaylee, who is finishing up her apprenticeship. For my jewelry, I chose a 14k yellow gold ring with white sapphire gems from BVLA, and I am very happy with my purchase.Although not selection is not as big as I would like, they do have the best fine body jewelry you can find in Ann Arbor. Piercing prices here are a bit higher, but you really get what you pay for. I would say every penny is worth it at this studio. They really do care for you piercing health and healing process. I would recommend this place for everyone for piercings!

Fantastic customer service and hospitality. Even better knowledge and experience. extremely comfortable from start to finish. I got two genital piercings in one session and have a couple more on the books. During my first visit we talked about all of the piercings in that area that Im looking to accumulate over time. My piercer was honest and thorough in explaining which ones he wasnt sure I would support. And instead of just saying no or gambling it on the ones that are on the fence, he set up a session for the big wig to come in and give an opinion. Price wound up being comparable,if not competitive, to just about anywhere else I called and quoted. I am trans so I looked one gender coming in for the opposite genital piercings, but no one ever skipped a beat or made me feel awkward in any way. I will have them change my starter jewelry at my next piercing appointment, but based on setting that up I have very high hopes for their aftercare experience as well. My piercer was Nathaniel Tinker who was particularly amazing, but I didnt speak to a single employee there who really wasnt. My piercing photos arent online appropriate, but they look absolutely fantastic and have had many compliments already 😊 very happy with my experience and results

I have been to Gamma piercing multiple times for piercings for me and I went to them when my daughter wanted to get her ears pierced.The shop is lovely, and they have a great selection of jewelry. Extremely clean, they follow the highest standards of sanitation and cleanliness. The staff and piercers are knowledgeable and kind and courteous. The piercers walk through each step as they’re doing it to make sure you know what’s happening and when.I’m a fan and will trust them every time and I would highly recommend you do too.

Went here to get my 14 y/o daughters ears pierced and I would highly recommend them to anyone! Jeff was our piercer and he was super friendly, professional and made her feel at ease by telling her every single thing he was doing along the way, no surprises. She was nervous and this really calmed her down. He sterilized everything multiple times, was very patient with her (and me) - he was just great.This place is so clean, the jewelry selection is great, the staff is super nice. 100% recommend to anyone with a young teenager with first-time ear piercing (I mean, Im sure theyre great for other stuff, too, but I cant speak to that). Having done a little browsing around, I know their prices on jewelry and piercing are a teeny bit more than some other places, but completely worth it for the quality of the experience and product.

They take their time. They have you verbally consent to each step as they are getting ready for your piercing. They offer jewelry exchanges and downsizes as well. They know a lot about the pieces they are selling.

Amazing 1st piercing experience for my 8 year old! Here is what I loved:- They did a free pre-consult (we did over zoom) to help her feel more comfortable with the process.- Nathaniel, our piercer, emphasized that she could change her mind at any time throughout the process. I loved that prior to each step, he would explain what he was about to do and then ask her permission.- He was meticulous about getting the piercing placement just perfect.- They offered the option to have 2 piercers, to pierce each lobe at the same time. It was over very quickly and my daughter said she experienced no pain.- Detailed aftercare instructions and have been available in addressing any questions afterwards.We drove from 30 minutes away and it was worth it! After we left, my daughter remarked, Mom, we found the perfect place for me!

I’ve gotten 7 piercings here between 2 piercers (kaylee and nathaniel) and they both do outstanding work. The environment is welcoming and everyone there is helpful and kind.Not to mention- I don’t have kids but I often see the piercers interact kindly with kids as I wait in the lobby. They do such a great job to make everyone comfortable.100/10 recommend !

First impressions were amazing…greeted with smiling faces and immensely calming feminine energy and also the place was spotless. It’s genius to make the color scheme of a place where people get holes poked into them ‘drunk-tank’ pink. I got my nose pierced by Kaylee and I have to say her mere presence made me feel calm, joking and making small talk. The piercing itself was very clinical and sanitary. I felt like I was Kaylee’s patient and not a customer. And amazingly it’s only 12 hours later and Im only a tiny bit sore and no visible swelling. Highly recommended.

I just went there today for my first time to get my nipples pierced. My first body piercing & Kaylee was my piercer. Let me start off by saying she was absolutely amazing! was very informative & answered any questions i had. She talked me through the whole process & then during the process let me know what she was doing & made sure i was comfortable throughout. when it came to the actual piercing it wasn’t bad at all! & will definitely come back! Couldn’t recommend Kaylee more!

If you are looking for a superbly clean, professional and inviting studio to get a piercing GO TO GAMMA! I visited Gamma Piercing recently with an appointment for two piercings. The owner Jef is extremely knowledgeable, experienced and kind. All of the staff in the studio were warm, welcoming and the customer service was excellent.The studio space itself is beautifully designed, exceptionally clean and inclusive. The location in downtown Ann Arbor is easily accessible and all of the nearby shopping and restaurants made for an awesome afternoon after my appointment.I was nervous for my appointment but both Jef and Maddie were reassuring and immediately made me feel confident and at ease.Although my piercings are only a week old, I have already had the easiest healing experience Ive ever had with any of my other 10 piercings. The pricing is competitive (I would have happily paid twice the amount I did for the level of service I received). 10/10 Gamma Piercing!!! Im looking forward to returning for my follow up consultation, future piercings and jewelry shopping.

Took my (almost) 10 year old to get her ears pierced here. The entire process was made to make her feel comfortable, at ease, and in control. Nathaniel Tinker was absolutely amazing with her: took his time explaining everything and answering ALL the questions, asking permission for each step, and continuously checking in. The aftercare was a breeze, too. I helped her clean the earring daily and was impressed that there wasnt even the tiniest bit of blood or residue. Great experience all around and would recommend for anyone getting their kids ears pierced.

My 8 year old had her ears pierced yesterday and she had a fantastic experience! She was extremely nervous before her appointment, but felt more comfortable after her consultation. Be careful!!! They will tell you you can return a piece of jewelry but then won’t take the return even when it’s their mistake. Expensive lesson for meEdit to add. I bought a very nice piece at the time with a pink tourmaline only to have the stone slide out of the setting never to be seen again

Got my nose done here about 2 years ago, love it and the piercer was super nice. Clean and beautiful place, very happy with my piercing. Only issue is, my piercing came out overnight and I lost the post and needed a replacement. So I went back to get a replacement and was told I needed an appointment. I made an appointment for an hour and a half later only to be told when I came back that I was not allowed to get a replacement because I am a minor. Thankfully another piercer was nearby and heard my issue and got me a new back and even gave me some tips on how to prevent it falling out again. Very grateful for her being nearby, but I am disappointed in the way this was handled and upset over the long wait and wasted money on parking for an issue that took 30 seconds to fix.

Talented, kind, and knowledgeable group! New location is definitely a winner as well. Tinker is super knowledgeable and kind, and has done 8 piercings for me! Today when I accidentally came a day early and was super embarrassed the staff was super nice about it. I was very lucky that another piercer was available (who was also absolutely delightful, kind, and knowledgeable) for a jewelry change and am super appreciative of how accommodating they all were.

So impressed with Gamma. I got my septum and nostril pierced today at Gamma and I am floored by the awesome service! They were extremely friendly, informative, clean, and patient. Tinker talked me through what he was gonna do and helped me figure out the best placing for my jewelry. I have a deviated septum so I was nervous about the piercing but he did a fantastic job. I actually got my septum pierced over a month ago at another place but they struggled with the deviation and I ended up not keeping the piercing. Tinker did a wonderful job maneuvering through my deviated septum and I seriously could not be happier with how my jewelry looks. Thank you Gamma❣️

A friend of mine recommending Gamma for my nose piercing when I was visiting, and Im so glad I listened to them! The shop is sparkling clean and hygienic, and all the staff are true professionals. Even as an adult Im still terrified of needles (think fainting) but Jeffs calm, gentle, clinical chair-side manner put me at ease. He explained every part of the process while constantly checking in. The piercing came out beautifully - I would never go anywhere else. They also have an amazing, unique jewelry selection, I wish I could give them 10 stars.

I just went here to get my nips pierced and I have nothing but good things to say about this shop. The front desk lady was super sweet on the phone and in the shop helping me pick out jewelry. Took my 5 year old for her first ear piercings. Made the appointment online and was able to complete the paperwork online before her appointment. The place was super clean and the staff is so friendly. They had two pierces there so they were able to do both her ears at the same time, super helpful. They explained every step of the way to her and gave her space when she needed it. Highly recommend this place. *maybe give yourself a few extra minutes for parking. I neglected to take that into account and we were running to our appointment 🤣*

Hi Gamma Piercing!I got my nostril pierced on 7/22 for my 21st birthday, but I only made the appointment 12 hours before hand and was so excited to see how easy it was to make the appointment, fill out the paperwork, and learn about aftercare in that 12 hour period before I had my appointment.When I got to the shop it was a little busy because people were as excited as me to get their new piercings, but the staff/team members were very well organized and kept everything moving along.I was pierced by Kira, and she did an awesome job making me feel comfortable and explained everything she was doing while she did it, which I appreciated. The piercing itself was a tiny bit painful but Kira moved quickly so that the painful part was over in a second.I had some time to pick out the jewelry that I wanted and I am so happy with the selection I made.I am really excited about my new piercing and if I ever decide I want more I will come back to Gamma!-Emily

Fantastic place, so glad we found it! Nathaniel (Tinker) was super responsive via email due to a distance issue, and managed to squeeze me in to take a look at an unhappy septum ring. Super chill, funny, and very personable. Normally I feel intimidated in shops but not this one. Everyone was great. Definitely will be back for some ear styling and a new piercing or two!---UPDATE: 8 months later and my husband and I stopped in for a new piercing. Unfortunately, the septum ring I had previously (NOT done by Gamma, because I didnt know about them yet), did not heal and had to be taken out.Tinker pierced me this time and the experience was wonderful! He marked my nose, cleaned me up with iodine, made sure I was comfortable and waited until I was ready. Having my septum done twice previously, this was the least painful one! Im extremely pleased with the placement, too, and cant wait until I can put some fun jewelry in!As always, the shop was nice and clean, and everyone was super helpful and nice. We will definitely be back.

I brought my daughter in yesterday for a septum piercing. The staff was absolutely amazing from the moment we walked in the door. Everyone was just as excited as she was for it. You tell they all really love what they do. Nathaniel did the piercing and being her first major piercing. Ive gone to Gamma Piercing in Ann Arbor for a few piercings over the years, and have never been disappointed (especially with Jef and Kaylee). The shop is nice, clean, and welcoming; the staff is knowledgeable, responsive to messages, and personable; the services themselves are explained thoroughly, done with expertise, and over before you know it. Gamma Piercing sells incredibly nice jewelry (Anatometal, BVLA, etc)- you get what you pay for. I had a great experience here a few weeks ago. The shop is lovely and very clean. I appreciate that they still have covid precautions in place! The staff were all very sweet and helpful. Ben did my nostril piercing and he was great! He put me at ease the entire time and explained everything that he was doing, and asked for consent along the way which was really great. All in all I had a wonderful experience and am already making plans to return for more piercings.

Noel the piercer was wonderful, I was impressed with the level of cleanliness and professional skills, and made me super comfortable. The piercing act itself was so smooth, quick, and the least amount of pain of a piercing Ive ever had! Just got a philtrum piercing from the best of the best, Kaylee!! She was so gentle, so thoughtful with the placement, and as always, Gamma is immaculately clean and safe! The counter staff, Clair and Jude, were delightful as well; Clair helped me pick out a lovely piece of jewelry! And I also got one of their new tote bags with an amazing logo designed by Jude! I went for my first time this weekend to get a new piercing by Amanda. They were the sweetest and really informed me of every step in the process. I never felt rushed at all to chose jewelry or during the piercing and it happened to be the least painful piercing i’ve ever had! I will 100% be back to get more and to see Amanda!

Took my daughter here to get her ears peirced. Thoughtd itd be a better experience than having some jewelry store do it (like random kid working a booth at the mall).Couldnt have had a better experience than we did here. Super nice folks, extremely meticulous on placement, nice selection of non-reactive metal jewelry, fabulous sterile technique, and a somehow perfect balance of careful and quick when actually doing the piercing. Kira was fabulous in her interactions with my daughter.End result: basically no redness, minimal swelling, and she said that her ears only were a bit sore one afternoon.I seriously couldnt recommend this place more. I would literally drive hours out of my way to go to them. Yeah, it cost a bit more than the mall - and felt like a great price for what we got. Dont even bother looking at anywhere else - if you ran across this review know this is where you want to go. My only regret is not knowing how to adequately say how fabulous these folks are.

I got the first of a couple ear piercings done here recently. I picked it out of all other places because of the reviews and the beautiful website. I could tell Gamma truly cares about the health and education around piercings. When I first went in, they made me feel so comfortable and welcomed. Helping me pick my jewelry took some time and they were patient and very accommodating. It was such a pleasant experience. Kaylee pierced my ears and I felt so comfortable and all questions were answered. I have already scheduled my next piercings. Im very glad to have come to Gamma.

This is truly the best piercing place ever. I still drive almost an hour to get there. I found out last minute that I need an MRI and the tech is going to make me take all my jewelry out. I gave Gamma a call and they managed to get me in during a fully booked day to put in glass retainers. They also got me in the next day so that we can put my jewelry back in as soon as possible.Also the design of the shop is wonderful. The other studios Ive been to are dark and then have super bright piercing rooms which is really jarring. This whole studio is bright and open and welcoming. And of course everything is super sanitary and everyone is super friendly. All of my piercings done here have healed beautifully and if I ever decide to get another piercing I will for sure go here.

If youre looking to get your childs ears pierced, Gamma is the place! We drove all the way from Clarkston to get my 10 year old daughters ears pierced for the first time and it was such a great experience from start to finish. They have so many cute studs to choose from and they treated my daughter like a little rock star. Kira was amazing! She walked my daughter through every step and was so gentle and sweet. I went here to get my naval pierced and I had the absolute best experience. I searched and searched for a good piercing shop near me but nun of them topped gamma. They made me very very comfortable and their piercer is very kind, welcoming, clean and professional. He made me feel very safe and confident that he knew how to do his job very well. They are very caring and send you home with products and a booklet on how to care for your piercing in a cute gift bag! I would never go to any other piercing shop ever again. My mother who’s been pierced many times at other shops, says by far gamma is the best and cleanest shop she’s seen. 100000% worth the time and price!And they’re taking proper precautions for the pandemic, they don’t have more than one person in the shop at a time!

Came here for a cartilage/helix piercing. Staff here is so sweet and quick! I was able to get everything done in almost 20 minutes. Got a conch piercing today here and I am super happy with it! I was quite nervous, but people at Gamma Piercing were super friendly and that calmed me down. The studio was very clean, there were very good and careful Covid precautions, they offered a nice assortment of jewelry, and the actual piercing went very fast. I felt pretty comfortable and in good hands the whole time. I would definitely go back, and am very happy with the result!

This is THE place to go for a piercing!! It’s well worth the price. I’ve had 10-15 piercings from other places and none of them have healed the way my piercings from Gamma have. After day 2 they were already so comfortable. Tinker took his time and explained the whole process. Being able to downsize after the piercings healed a bit was also much appreciated. This is the highest quality and professionalism you can find!

I got my helix pierced here by Nathaniel Tinker. This was my first piercing outside of the 3 I have on each lobe and it was the first one I got done by a professional piercer rather than a random Claire’s employee. I was super nervous going in but they immediately greeted me with a welcoming energy. He talked to me the whole time, walked me through the process, asked questions, and was genuinely invested in making me feel comfortable and have a good experience. On top of that, they were super clean and took Covid prevention really seriously. I thoroughly enjoyed my experience and after my current piercing starts to heal I plan on going back to them for more. It is well worth the money and the 30 minute drive.

I really can’t say enough great things about Gamma Piercing and my experience with Kaylee. I arrived hoping to get 3-5 cartilage piercings but Kaylee kindly, and responsibly, explained why that isn’t a great idea. She gave me advice on placement, jewelry, and went above and beyond to place a special order for specific jewelry I’m seeking. Kaylee did my conch and helix piercings swiftly, with ease and minimal pain. Before leaving, Kaylee scheduled me a free downsize in 5 weeks, and a nostril piercing. After leaving, Kaylee followed up within the hour via phone and email to ensure my special order was placed. We had the best experience with my seven year old getting her ears pierced. Tinker was amazing with her and she didn’t even flinch when he pierced her. We had a horrible experience elsewhere so we were nervous. But, her ears healed very quickly and didn’t bother her at all. This place is so worth it.

Gamma is awesome! Ive been to two piercers here, one to get my industrial piercing and the other to get it put back in after an MRI, and both were super sweet. The staff in general are very nice and helpful. My only issue was that its very hard to hear when in their building, especially in the waiting area. It may just be because Im partially deaf, but it seemed unusually hard for me because of the acoustics.

I took my daughter into Gamma Piercing for earlobe piercing. I wanted somebody that was doing this professionally, and not just a local teen at the mall doing a summer job. The whole experience, facility and staff was all top notch from beginning to end. Jeff and Amanda were extremely welcoming and friendly to myself and my 8 year old. They made sure that she was very comfortable and knew what to expect at every step, as well as making her feel that her opinions and questions really mattered to them. The facility itself was extremely clean and organized. The actual ear piercing process was professionally done. As someone who works in medicine I was flat out impressed with the sterilization and infection control measures that they follow. If Jeff ever decides to switch careers he would have no problem working in an operating room! The experience and attention to detail showed in every step. Overall would highly recommend without reservation.

I had an appointment for tomorrow evening with this piercing business. They called and left a message saying theyre canceling my appointment, and something about our previous interactions and harassment. ??? Maybe because I originally preferred a female piercer? But Ive never contacted this business before except to make the appointment, and the person on the phone was extremely nice, so I have no idea what this person is referring to. Besides calling for the appointment, Ive never messaged, emailed or contacted them in any way. Im pretty upset... Theyre definitely mixing me up with someone else, and if thats the case, maybe its better for me to get pierced elsewhere anyway! 🙃UPDATE: To owner- nope, that WAS NOT me. Ive changed my security settings tho. Im also changing my 3 star review to one star, since youre blaming me for something I didnt do, AND you seem unwilling to honor our appointment. If you really wanted to make it right, youd do so... I was really looking forward to tomorrow night. What a disappointment 😞!

I brought my 15 y.o. son in today to get lobe piercings. To say he has a needle phobia is an understatement. He was very scared but determined to try. Piercer Nathaniel Tinker was amazing! He was very reassuring and helped my son through the process. Really professional and compassionate. The lobby and piercing area was very clean, Tinker observed very sanitary procedures. I got pierced here last week for two second lobes and a single helix piercing. It was such an incredible experience and I felt so comfortable and safe there. Everyone working there is extremely knowledgeable and experienced. Nothing was done without first asking for my consent, and I felt very at ease the entire time. Yesterday, my daughter (19) and I (almost 51) had an appointment for each of us to get a third piercing in our earlobes and a cartilage (helix) piercing. The front staff was very professional and very informative on the products. They took their time to help us pick the right jewelry to suit our needs and personality. They answered all questions regarding price and you know how much the whole process will be before even stepping into the piercing room. Becky Dill (guest piercer) did our piercing and she was AWESOME!!! She was very professional and answered all of questions. She allowed (actually invited) my daughters friends to come into the room with us. Becky explained how the piercings were being sanitized and then walked us step by step on the entire process. When it was time for the piercings, she again explained what she was doing (telling us when she is getting ready to touch our ears, when she is getting ready to pierce, reminding my daughter to breathe, etc). When the both of us were done, she again explained how to clean the piercings and told us that if we had any questions or concerns later on, to please call. She made both of us feel at ease. Another thing I noticed is how clean and sanitary everything is! I am already thinking about coming back and getting another piercing!!

My almost 6-year-old decided she wanted her ears pierced, and I was looking for somewhere that would be kid-friendly but without using a piercing gun. Gamma was it and even more!We had a wonderful experience here with Ben. He was so gentle and kind with her, carefully walking her through each step of the process and asking for her consent each time. He put her totally at ease. When she cried after the first ear, he was really patient while we calmed her down and even helped make her laugh. She walked out happy and proud, and her ears look great!

I got a jewelry change and one piercing today at Gamma. I think that the pricing is fair for what you get. The jewelry is all real and very unique. They explained everything they did and why they did it. They give you ample notice & warning before the actual piercing so you have a bit of time to prepare. All around fantastic!! 10/10 from me

I cannot say enough nice things about this shop. I got my septum and vertical labret pierced here. Both piercings are done very well! The placement on them is perfect. It’s crazy how much a few holes in your face can boost your self confidence. I cannot say enough nice things about the staff at gamma as well. The attendants at the front are SO FRIENDLY. They also seem genuinely excited for your new piercing. They have a good selection of jewelry that the attendants are more than happy to help you with. The piercer Jeff is damn near the nicest guy in Ann Arbor. He made me feel like he was really familiar with the piercings I was getting and talked me through the process. He’s very professional as well as being super smiley and friendly. It’s was such an enjoyable experience. Also would like to mention that the shop is VERY clean. They def take germs and bacteria seriously and pierce the safe way. I need to figure out another piercing I want so I can go back.

No piercing fee until shes done with the apprenticeship, so hurry! ;) ***I just had my 2nd set of piercings (tragus and faux rook / flat (kind of between in my particular ear)) at Gamma. This time Maddie did them, and she did a great job! They are beautifully placed and both were done smoothly and with grace. Maddie also helped me pick the jewelry (which probably required a lot of patience because I am super particular), and we found pieces that were elegant, fit well with my other jewelry, looked good for the specific piercings I was getting, and were good replacements for the very luxurious pieces I naturally gravitated towards but wasnt ready to invest in ;) haha. If youve been thinking about any piercings but hesitating for financial reasons, now is the time to head over to Gamma and see Maddie!PS -- Gamma is great in general (see my other review about my experience with Tinker, Claire, and Maddie) ! I just wanted to leave a separate review about Maddies apprenticeship because its a special thing. :)

The apprentice that works the front counter is always so upbeat and friendly, she even made my little nieces feel welcome while they were waiting for me. This was my second piercing at this location and I now live 45 minutes away from Ann Arbor. I will still drive here if I ever want another piercing. Highly recommend.

The most professional and clean shop around. I had heard of Gamma Piercing through friends and decided to check them out when I needed a new septum ring. They have a beautiful selection of jewelry at very competitive prices. Laura did my original change of jewelry and was very kind and quick. A few weeks later I had to have my jewelry switched to retainers for an MRI and Jef was more than accommodating. The online scheduling service is very convenient and I recommend it, they can get very busy! 12/10 I definitely recommend Gamma Piercing!

Nathaniel did an incredible job of describing the whole process to both girls. He was patient and answered all their questions in a simple and honest manner. Both girls requested to get both ears done at the same time, so Kira came in to assist. She was also patient and kind to both.What impressed me the most was the consistent message/question of consent. Both Nathaniel and Kira communicated well with each other and with each girl when it came time to do the actual piercing. Every step and every one we interacted with made this whole experience amazing and fun for both!

I went in to have my septum repierced after 2 years, and she managed to locate the previous piercing and work a new piece of jewelry in rather than creating a whole new hole, which saved me a ton of discomfort and healing time. Recently got my first cartilage piercing done at Gamma and couldn’t recommend it enough to those in the are looking for a professional, clean, and friendly place to get a piercing done. Nathaniel did an amazing job walking me through the process and explaining the aftercare needed for my specific piercing type. Had such a great experience that I will definitely be back for more piercings!

We went here tonight to get my 7 year old daughters ears pierced (which shes been asking for), and I was so incredibly impressed. The store is very classy and tasteful - the jewelry is lovely and often understated. It was a perfectly appropriate place for me to have my children in, and the staff was incredibly professional, friendly, and knowledgeable.In the end, my daughter really struggled. She had her first ear done, but couldnt quite get the second ear done because the pain was a bit shocking. She was very upset and agonized over whether to keep the one piercing or to have it taken out. Our piercer, Noel, was so incredibly kind and patient. She never made my daughter feel rushed about her choice, even though there was another little girl waiting. She was very kind about my daughters choice and deeply understanding, as was the gentleman at the front who checked us out afterwards.I am so grateful for their deep respect of my daughters dignity and bodily autonomy. Their professionalism and kindness was a real gift to my girl and I on what ended being kind of a difficult night! If she reconsiders her decision, well definitely be back.

TL;DR: Got my septum done here & it was an awesome experience! Bit pricey-er than I thought but also, well worth it for the quality.Bit of backstory, Ive never had much luck with piercings outside of my ear lobes. Ive had my nostril, belly button, and about 5 different ear cartilage piercings and ALL have failed miserably. Some may have been personal error (early college days werent the best for healing a piercing) but they always seemed to be sore well beyond the usual timeframes for healing and a couple got infected or developed keloids (Im not a dirty person, promise!). I even had my third earlobe holes done and one was placed further back, probably in cartilage territory and THAT one took about a full year vs a couple months on the other side to heal and stop being so sensitive to changes.I had basically given up on piercings but at the suggestion of another piercer, I drove the hour+ to Gamma to try my luck again with a septum piercing. The process was super easy and everyone in there seemed to care & be patient with my hesitancy and concerns (lol). The placement of the piercing was well thought out and barely hurt. Its been about 3 weeks now and feels amazing compared to other experiences Ive had. There was some soreness initially the first week but since then its been unnoticeable and seems to be healing amazingly....plus, its cute as hell lol. Love it & so happy to *finally* have a piercing work out for once.(I also have to regularly flip it up for work so it gets its fair share of disturbances haha!)

So happy with our experience at Gamma Piercing! My daughter kept asking to get her ears pierced for her 4th birthday and after doing some research I made an appointment here. The staff were so helpful and made my daughter very comfortable. Her piercer (Tinker) explained everything to her and was very patient! I would highly recommend for any kid’s piercing.

I had a really good experience getting pierced here. I had both of my nostrils pierced by Nathaniel and he was great. He went out of his way to spend a while marking my nose to make sure they were just right. The actual piercing experience was quick and Nathaniel talked me through the whole process. At the end, he answered all of my questions and got me set up with everything I needed for the healing process. The jewelry was very expensive, but it high quality forever jewelry. Expect to spend at least a couple hundred dollars. This is not the place for a quick cheap piercing. I will definitely be back for more high quality piercings and jewelry.

I got 2 piercings here the other evening and was nothing but impressed by the staff. The shop was clean and organized and both employees were polite, professional and easy to talk to. The appointment was punctual and my piercings turned out amazing. The jewelry they had available was beautiful and I am beyond pleased. I will absolutely come here again and recommend it whole-heartedly.

The shop itself is very beautiful, the staff that greets you were very nice and helpful allowing you to really see the jewelry before you choose it and not making you feel like you shouldnt be there which is a vibe that some tattoo and piercing shops can have. I went in for a somewhat strange job I have 4 holes in my lobes and I wasnt sure if they were closed or what. Tinker was my piercer and he was super sweet and really took his time and was able to taper through 3 and only had to repierce one. He was great and I would go back to him specifically for sure I even recommended him for my friends with kids that want their ears done because he was a very calming person. The only con to this place was I feel like the pricing transparency could be better. It was a little confusing what their cheapest jewelry was and they also didnt tell you the cost of anything until it was over the lady that paid before me also seemed surprised at her total cost too. All in all I would go back and trust the the shops cleaning standards and staff.

I went in last night to get a piercing removed that I wasnt loving. I didnt even originally get it done at Gamma, but they took it out for me safely and didnt even charge me! They were extremely kind and made me feel comfortable and relaxed. Their studio is very clean and professional. Id recommend going here for any of your piercing needs. Wish I could give them more stars!

Great place. It was my first time in and the entire staff was welcoming and friendly. I wanted to get some new jewelry but didnt have an appointment. They were fully booked for the day but I still felt taken care of and the awesome employees were super patient while I dithered over jewelry choices. They have so many beautiful options!I was really surprised at how little time I had to wait especially considering their full schedule! These girls are professionals and I cant wait to come back. 11/10, so glad I went here!

I brought my daughter in today for a nose piercing with Nathaniel. He was very clean, thorough, and patient. I like that he took his time. He answered all my questions, then explained the whole process to us. It was a good experience, with minimal pain. My daughter is happy! The only downside would be the pricing, but honestly, I think, you get what you pay for. So thank you Nathaniel. I will recommend you for sure.

Went to get my 9 year old daughters ears pierced. Definitely costs more than Claire’s but the difference is absolutely worth it. It is cleaner than a doctors office and the staff are friendly and very educated on their jobs. Nathaniel was fantastic with my daughter and made sure that she was never under any pressure and was completely comfortable with her decision.I cannot give this place enough stars. I’d give it ten if I could!

Amanda, the apprentice/front of shop woman, is super friendly and helpful as well. Prices are fair and they dedicate lots of time to help you with bigger piercing projects. I will definitely be back!

The folx at Gamma piercing never fail to impress me. The staff is helpful and professional, and have never spoken down to me when answering my piercing-related questions. They are accommodating and its obvious that they care about what they do. Ive been lucky enough to have Jef do each piercing, but have had other perform my jewelry swaps and downsizings. I had a fantastic experience at Gamma Piercing. The shop is beautiful and immaculately clean, and the staff was welcoming and very knowledgeable. I got a cartilage piercing done, as well as having an older piercing stretched, and they look great. I would recommend Gamma to anyone in the area who is looking to get pierced or buy new jewelry.

I was nervous about getting pierced for the first time in 10 years, but I felt confident and safe with Laura. She popped a septum ring back in for me after having that piercing empty for the last 7 years or so, and then gave me a fresh nostril piercing. They are extremely clean and professional, taking sanitary to the next level, and super friendly to boot. About 2 weeks after I got my nostril pierced, I accidentally pulled it almost all the way out and Jef was very understanding, accommodating and as gentle as possible pushing it back through and giving me advice for healing it up. He switched to a longer post to account for swelling and let me take the tools home to change the jewelry myself if I want to. They are so generous with their time and effort, its obvious they take pride in their work and genuinely care about your health and well being following any modification theyve done for you. Also, theyre located right next to a parking garage, which is super helpful since they are on South University. With the students gone all summer, parking is a breeze on the street too. The jewelry is high quality and beautiful. I am grateful I went there, they really took care of me. Thanks Gamma babes

I’ve been here a couple times and have had nothing but an excellent experience! Jeff and the rest of the staff are extremely knowledgeable and helpful when it comes to any questions concerning piercings. Their facility and process of sterilization is very thorough and reassuring. I felt that they had my best interest in mind when making any decisions. If you’re looking for a place you can trust with your piercings I wouldn’t recommend going anywhere else!

I had my ears pierced here by Tinker and it was a great experience! Kaylee very patient when I was choosing earrings and Tinker enthusiastically answered all my questions. He took extra care to ensure the piercings would be well placed and explained everything throughout the process. Everyone was very friendly and helpful. I highly recommend!

I got my septum done at Gamma yesterday for my birthday, and I couldnt be happier. It was my first time in a piercing studio, so I was a little nervous. Jef and Kaylee were so friendly and made me feel so comfortable that all my nervousness melted away!! Jef is a perfectionist and walked me through everything he was doing as he did it, down to explaining all the marks he made, where the best place to pierce is, and when to breathe. Kaylee was friendly and knowledgeable, and walked me through all the jewelry options and aftercare. The place was SUPER clean + sterile, and I could see everything as it was happening. It went so well I hugged both of them afterward!! All in all it was a great experience, and I will definitely be going back just as soon as I can think of what to pierce next.

Ann Arbor is extremely fortunate to have Gamma Piercing. I’ve been pierced by Laura Jane a few times now (my nostril and conch) and never been disappointed. The studio itself is sparkling spotless. They have a variety of unique jewelry which is really hard to come by anywhere else. Laura was kind and gentle during my piercing making the experience a breeze to get through. I would definitely get pierced here again in the future!

I brought my daughter to have her ears pierced but little did I know , I would be the one coming home with a new piercing. I have had piercings done at everything from a crappy tattoo shop piercer to a high end shop, and Gamma is the best piercing experience I have ever had. Jef is amazingly skilled, a great personality and manner, and the breathing exercises he did with me made my piercing so easy. The shop is beautiful and clean, and the jewelry of a fantastic quality. I purchased some amazing custom earrings from Gamma and absolutely loved my experience. Custom stuff does take longer, and Jef and Laura were perfect with the timeframe and communication. The earrings turned out perfect! This is a top-notch piercing studio and the jewelry they offer (and can order) is unique and high quality. Nice gold selection. These guys are real professionals- so much that they teach at national piercing courses! I think we are lucky to have this caliber of a piercing studio in Ann Arbor!

Im very skeptical of who I allow to pierce me due to a few bad experiences. I moved to the Ypsilanti/Ann Arbor area a few years ago; I have since left, yet I still choose to take the drive to Gamma. For a person who hates driving, that speaks volumes.Great customer service, very knowledgeable and informative, and so, so cool. Seriously. I keep conversation through being pierced each time. Stop looking around because this is the place! My daughter (6) and I went to get our ears pierced, and I have never been so impressed.Tinker is an incredible person, who very much valued my daughters comfort and was very patient. After he did her first ear, she cried and he waited until she was ready. Even letting her know that she didn’t have to do the other ear if she didn’t want to. After she calmed down gave him the okay to pierce the other ear.I have had my ears pierced three or four times and had a couple of other piercings, all were companied with bad swelling and discomfort. Coming to gamma I basically didn’t feel a thing. If I decide to have anymore work done I will definitely come back and recommend gamma to everyone.

Took my daughter to get her ears pierced here and I ended up getting a piercing myself! They take great care about the process and fully explained how to take care of the new piercing as well as provided a kit for home to clean and disinfect. Jewelry selection is higher end, very beautiful pieces by BVLA. Was very pleased overall with our experience.

The staff was super friendly. Tinker was our piercer and he was amazing with myb7 year old daughter. He wmed her through the whole process, explained everything he was doing and even told a few jokes to lighten her up. I am definitely going back here when my other daughter wants hers done.

I left feeling educated on the different types of piercings and how to care for them. The owner is so friendly and will put your nerves at ease; he really knows his stuff! The placement of my nostril piercing is PERFECT! I followed his instructions on how to clean it and it has healed so nicely with no issues. I will be back!

Three of us went for piercings today. Our experience was amazing from beginning to end. First off there is comprehensive paperwork to complete. From there you pick your jewelry. They were very patient and helpful as we were picking the earrings out, and helping us find something that we felt good, about in our price point. They at no point rushed us. From there, the owner Jeff walked us through care and what to expect with our piercings. At this point, he discussed exposure water (or lack thereof.) I then put two and two together and told him that two of us in the party were leaving for a beach vacation, out of the country in less then two weeks. At this point he advised us against the piercing. He was the consummate professional. He could have been so upset with us that we had to both back out of our piercing appointment. However, instead he was so gracious, and actually saved the jewelry with our names on it! When we come back from vacation we will be going back to get our piercings. The individual with our party that did get her piercing, had a great experience!! He walked her through the entire process and was so professional. He even helped her with breathing techniques to relax! The piercing looked fantastic!! Please do yourself a favor and work with Jeff at Gamma piercing. You will not regret the decision!!

Very awesome experience. Very clean shop, with people who know how to put you at ease. They also did a very awesome job with my piercings. Im from the U.P but it would be well worth the trip down to get pierced by them. I was very picky about who did my piercings, and I know I made the right choice going here.

I wanted to get my nose pierced here because it looked nice. While it was pricy, I was okay with said price because I wanted the best. Well, the piercing fell off a few weeks later. And since it was a nose piercing, it closed literally a day or so later. And did I also mention that the jewelry got lost since it was so small? I saw someone’s review about their piercing jewelry falling off and the business said it happens. Maybe? But I’ve had 4 nose piercings before and the only one that ever fell off did not have a stopper. And, well, the one I got from this place. I paid about $300 for it and while I was okay with the price when I got the piercing, it is only because I thought it would last! I was away for my winter break at the time so there was no way I could come back (something they suggested the other reviewer should have done). It’s obviously a weird suggestion because people have lives and they travel. Like I was. I was away for weeks before I came back. Honestly, I think there are way cheaper or reasonably priced places that are still very sanitary and whose jewelry doesn’t fall off after 3-4 weeks! Save your time and money and go to those places instead.

I’m truly regret to have my daughter’s 1st ear piercing done here. I don’t want to mention the itching and inflammation she has suffered from the piercing. We followed all the post-piercing care procedure and cleaning step, however she is still suffering from the itch and bulk of died tissues around the wound. After 1 month, we went back and changed the original titanium piercing, however the itch and inflammation still goes on, even after half year, we have to remove the paired titanium piercing, left with a swelling and red bumps on the earlobe. Btw, my first experience with the front desk young lady is very unpleasant, she seems not patient to answer my questions and concerns about piercing/price. A bad experience here.

This place is great and the staff are very professional and attentive. I got two piercings done by Amanda Page and she was very nice and put me at ease. She helped me to choose the location of the piercings just right so that they both looked good and wouldnt interfere with anything else I had near them. My follow up appointment experience was great as well.

This place is the bomb. My impression is that hygiene and professional skill are top priorities, so if you care about how well and safely your piercings are done, this is a good studio for you. Though this costs more than a mall piercing, you get your moneys worth.My two side-by-side cartilage piercings were done by Laura, who talked me through process of healing and made sure I was satisfied with the placement of my piercings. She took a careful look at my ear and helped me figure out what the best positioning would be based on the structure of my ear. Did you know that ears are unique as fingerprints? Piercing was quick and smooth. Laura talked to me throughout the process and helped me relax.Its like clinic with surgeons who know exactly what theyre doing. You can make follow-up appointments and walk in if youre having problems. If I ever decided to get another piercing, I would come back.

You are in well trained hands at Gamma. They will take great care of you, make you feel comfortable, and WONDERFUL from start to finish. 100/10!I had to have jewelry removed for an MRI and then reinserted. Jef did the removal and I believe it was Ben who did the reinsertion two days later. (so sorry if I got this wrong, my brain is mush!) I had a piercing that needed retiring due to infection (I just have a bad history with helix piercings) but Jef used language that made me feel 100% like it was my decision & I totally trusted his expertise. Ben made getting all the jewelry back in a FUN experience even though my daith had shrunk a bit. All around wonderful place! Professional, clean, experts in their field.

Such an amazing experience for our daughters, 4 and 6, that decided they were ready for their first real earrings. Jeff and Amanda were absolutely fantastic—very kind, professional, and ever patient when our 6-year old was a bit jittery. We wanted to go to professionals that would ensure a sterile environment with quality tools and the knowledge to do the piercing correctly, and this is exactly what we found at Gamma.The worst part? Hours later, when my daughter cried because she didn’t take a picture with them and is worried she will forget them. She loved her experience that much! After doing some research, I chose Gamma Piercing for my tragus. I definitely made the right decision. I was greeted immediately upon entering, and all of the staff were professional and courteous. The studio was very modern and clean. Jef, the owner and my piercer, took the time to thoroughly explain the jewelry, the piercing process, and proper after care. All of their equipment is single use, ensuring that it is sterile. I felt at ease the entire time, and am extremely pleased with my results. I got my septum and earlobes pierced at Gamma about two weeks ago. As these were my first ever piercings, I was very excited, albeit nervous. As soon as I walked through the doors of Gamma, most of that anxiety faded away. The environment and staff is so friendly and welcoming. Everything is sanitary (which was very important for me), the jewelry is of the highest quality (and is so pretty and unique) and the process of getting pierced was so so enjoyable. My piercer (Beeley) was extremely knowledgable and professional. She walked me through the steps and made me feel more than comfortable. Ive gotten three piercings done here by Jef and Laura and I cannot recommend this place highly enough. The staff are all incredibly friendly and patient and helpful with every aspect of the process. Jef and Laura are not only talented piercers but very caring and great about explaining things, making the client comfortable and delivering a very excellent piercing. In particular when I got my septum done Jef spent a lot of time making sure everything was perfectly lined up and making sure I knew what was happening. Even when I leave Ann Arbor I hope to make the trek to Gamma to get pierced!

Gamma Piercing is all that and more. Excellent customer service, amazing knowledge, extremely clean facility that utilizes single use, sterile equipment. GP has an awesome selection of quality products.Jef came to our rescue after a helix piercing gone wrong from another facility. My 13 y/o daughter was pierced w the wrong size gague, with no selection of jewelry. The list goes on with mistakes made by another facility. Jef worked us in at the closing hour, spent quality time with us and gave us the best recommendation to fix the situation. He was very gentle with my daughter, and explained all of our options along with his recommendation. I could not be more pleased with our service or this facility. Great place to get piercings!! I love my experience there everytime I go. Everyone is very knowledgeable and is so willing to help. Jef is great he really knows his stuff and always recommends the best advice. They also have a beautiful selection of earrings, both studs or hoops. Had my earrings changed and didn’t feel a thing when he exchanged them for hoops!

So professional and unbelievably hygienic! Better experience than I could imagine. I can’t see going anywhere else after how much time and effort was put into making my daughter’s ear piercing experience not only safe but relaxed as well.

I got my 3rd lobe peircings done and my cartilage in one ear done about 10 months ago. The right ear is fine and healed but Ive been able to get a better look at the left peircings and the backs of them are so hacked up. They keep getting infected because the holes were so messy in the back. Ive gone to claires for so much cheaper and never had a problem and the 1 time I went with a professional, they hacked up the backs of my peicings and theyre still getting infected 10 months later even though I maintain them every day.

Had a horrible experience, especially this being my first professional piercing. Gamma Piercing has completely deterred me from any future piercings.The woman who pierced me claimed to have many many years of experience in a popular parlor in New York. So I felt like I was in good hands. That feeling was so untrue.First of all she hesitated three times during the initial run. Then the jewelry fell off the taper. She then said that she messed up a bit and it would be no problem, so she ran the taper through a second time after the entrance had swelled quite a bit. I have a such a high pain tolerance, but I was in so much pain. This was such a long and drawn out process.This shouldve taken less than 15 minutes for a daith piercing, I was there on the table for 45 minutes.I wish I got my money back. What a horrible experience.

Theres a reason Gamma has such incredible reviews! I walked in to have my septum pierced and they were able to take me immediately. Jef and the other woman training with him were kind and patient, and went over every detail of the process with me. I was pretty nervous but Jef made it easy to relax throughout the piercing.The studio is so clean and sterile youre practically in a hospital. Its very clear cleanliness and safety are priority number one at Gamma. Jef is also very knowledgeable about the process, care and cleaning, and how a septum differs from just having your ears pierced (which is all I have and know). It was clear hes been doing this a very long time.The jewelry was gorgeous and very high quality, which has the only downside of coming with a high price tag. But youre definitely getting what you pay for - high quality metals are necessary for the safety and proper healing of your piercing plus the ring I chose was absolutely gorgeous and exactly what I wanted (14k gold ring w/ delicate detail). I didnt do my research and didnt realize what Id likely pay for a quality septum, so I was hesitant when I heard the price tag but you definitely get what you pay for here. Jef was even nice enough to throw in the cleaning materials for free, which I really appreciated!!I would definitely and have already recommended Gamma to friends after having such an amazing experience.

He was polite, and answered my questions in a very non-condescending way.When I showed up for my appointment, the young lady behind the counter was very polite and thorough explaining the different jewelry style and pricing options.Jef did my nostril piercing for me, helped me find the perfect placement for my stud. He walked me through every step of the placement and piercing process, always making sure I was comfortable with what he was doing.I will 100% trust them with all future piercing investments, and would recommend them to anyone who asks.

I really appreciate the quality and care that goes into the jewelry and the piercings here. My daughter had her ears pierced several months ago. We had a little trouble taking out one of the earrings and they were able to provide some tips as well as a sterilized set of pliers to help pull them apart.

First I talked to Amanda, who was incredibly kind and helpful and gave her input on jewelry choices. I was a little nervous, but talking to Amanda put me at ease.Meeting Jef compounded that feeling -- Jef is one of those people who is so clearly excellent at what they do that they just exude it, without a hint of pretense. Jef also happened to know basically every shop in my hometown (Seattle), and was clearly not namedropping. He just really knows his community.I came away with a piercing that I love and a recommendation for a shop in Seattle to visit when Im looking to change my stud for a ring. My girlfriend came away with a recommendation for a shop in Rhode Island to visit for a future piercing. Honestly I cannot recommend Gamma Piercing enough.

Doing my due diligence here in sharing a review--Jef and everyone at Gamma was wonderful, patient, and helpful. Jef was respectful and made the piercing process so smooth! I completely recommend going to Gamma for any piercing in the A2 area. Two thumbs up. :)

Extremely helpful through the process of getting my piercings, the staff at the desks were ALWAYS nice and willing to answer any questions I had, they are extremely impressive and qualified to do anything you could ask. They also answered many of my follow up questions and they are willing to help make sure your piercings are healing properly. Highly recommend!!!

Have been here multiple times and the service is always great with friendly workers. It is kept very clean and I have always had a great piercing experience. They also have fast customer service if you run into trouble after you get your piercing.

Very clean space, and they put a lot of thought into sanitizing and sterilizing. Very knowledgeable and explained why everything happens before it happened. Answered all of my questions, and anticipated ones that i hadnt even thought of yet. I felt very comfortable and I could tell the piercer was highly experienced. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking to get a piercing.

I got my septum pierced at Gamma by Jef and it was an amazing experience! They were very friendly and Jef was very thorough with explaining the process, and made sure I was comfortable. Ive wanted my septum pierced for a very long time and Im so happy with the result!!

Very easy to get in for piercing. Front desk woman was very knowledgeable and helpful with suggestions for first time piercings. Jef was amazing. My earring and all equipment was sterilized while I waited. Jef explained the procedure and then talked me through it. I would highly recommend him!

Had to get my tragus piercing out for an MRI and couldn’t get it myself. Gamma Piercing could not have been nicer or more helpful! They squeezed me in to get my piercing out on a busy night, then sterilized jewelry for me and squeezed me in again the next night, which was also solidly booked, to put it back in. They are wonderful and I would absolutely go back.

I was getting my second lobe peircings at this place and I was greeted by the kindest lady (sadly dont remember her name) she helped me pick out the best jewlery that suited me. My peircings were done by a guest peircer from Chicago he talked me through the process and did the most precise measurements Ive ever seen with a piercing. He sanitized my ears properly with alcohol, iodine, ect. My ears werent even pink afterwards you can count on this place for awesome peircings. The pricing is a bit expensive but if you consider the quality of jewlery and sanitization and even the after care goodie bag they give you afterwards it is completely worth the price! ,Thanks Tinker!
