I got my septum done here with Jessica and she was amazing!! she was so nice and super knowledgeable about what she was doing and i felt completely at ease with her. she also helped me out with my rejected navel piercing that i got done elsewhere and i really appreciated her input. Jessica knows exactly what she’s doing and it’s clear she wants you to have a good experience and get a safe piercing as well as making sure you’re educated. i came in with a group who also had piercings done and it went great! they sterilize equipment in front of you and and let you know everything they’re doing which was very reassuring. i’m sensitive to many metals and have had bad experiences with rejected piercings so i was worried coming in but i feel very confident my septum will heal properly. i feel like the pricing is very fair for the high quality of the jewelry and the professionalism of Ideal. definitely coming back here for more piercings!

Jessica was very accommodating and excellent bed side manner! She was very sweet and personable. We walked in and she took us right away. She was very thorough and sterile. We appreciated how informative she was. We had a girls weekend and decided to do something spontaneous. 10/10 recommend!

Fantastic experience every time I come in. Levi at the counter is knowledgeable and friendly, and Im beyond impressed with my piercers (Jess) attention to detail and care in making sure that everything is perfect. 10/10 recommend.

My nose stud was accidentally pulled out and I could not get it back in. I called Ideal on a Sunday afternoon to ask if they could help. The woman that answered the phone was super nice and said I could come as a walk in. When I walked in I was greeted immediately and Jake took care of me right away. He was able to get my original jewelry back in quick and painlessly and was an absolute pleasure to chat with. I was in and out in less than 10 minutes and the fee was really reasonable. I definitely recommend this shop!!

I have been in around four times and this most recent one i had the worst experience i have ever had there. i had a scheduled appointment and it took 30 minutes for them to even get me into a room with a piercer. all around it took about an hour to get one piercing. along with the time i was very shocked when i was having a nice conversation with a worker and shared where i got part of my jewelry collection for me to then be lectured and i felt as if i was being shamed for buying a piece of jewelry. i have had amazing experiences and as soon as i got into the room with my piercer he was lovely very quick and gentle. i love ideal and the people inside and i will be back. i just can’t get over being shamed for my own choices. as a customer service worker myself i could never imagine myself treating any customer like that after i said one thing and having his whole mood shift. again i will be back mostly because of how sanitary and normally how fast they are i just wish my appointment went better today. just remembered that after i posted this the manager who is the guy that gave me trouble called me multiple times asking me to take my review down and apologized over the phone. i dont see myself going back there ever.

Jake was my piercer today. Not only was he INCREDIBLY professional and talented, but he provided exceptional service. I may have been a repierce, but I literally felt nothing. Give him a vacation, bonus and a break! ;)

We just got out 12 year old daughters ear lobes pierced yesterday and it was an amazing experience! Jake did wonderful easing our daughters anxiety, he was so personable. Everyone at Ideal makes you feel comfortable and like family! It was clean and sanitary. Everything was put in a sanitizing machine and they took all the precautions necessary! I would definitely go back!

I went today and got my septum done, and my boyfriend got both his lobes. Jessica did our piercings and it was a great experience! She walked us through every step of the process, and was very empathetic. We will definitely be back for any future piercings!!

It was my first time being at Ideal and it was a great experience from the start. The person at the front counter took the time to explain the piercings I wanted to get the healing process for each of them and also helped me choose the best matching jewlery. Thank you!! Jake, my piercer, was super nice, laid back, and very professional. He said the industrial piercing was possible for me but not the anti tragus which I appreciate being told no if I dont have the right anatomy. I got the industrial and regular tragus and after each piercing he asked if I was okay, which made me comfortable and made the whole process a breeze. I will definitely be back for my next piercings!!

A wonderful experience for nervous first-timer - my teen (14) went for a septum piercing, and was immediately put at ease by Jake. The entire atmosphere at Ideal was relaxed, and welcoming. Been going here for quite a while now and I’m not impressed. Got my bellybutton pierced here and 2021 and it never healed correctly and I had to unfortunately take it out, I thought it was due to me and the pants I wore but no, wasn’t done right. I have 14 piercings and I’ve never had problems until I went here. Bad customer service, neglected to tell me that it would take two months to get a piece of jewelry that they sold to me for 500+ dollars fixed, Then when I asked if there was something else we could do they said, unfortunately this is all we offer and if “I’m Familiar with red jewelry Then I should know these things happen and they break” LMFAO THATS SO NOT TRUE!!! Every single piece of jewelry I have ever been pierced with threadless and I have NEVER had it pop out and break like the jewelry they provide here!!! Save your money hit up any other shop!

Visited for the first time today and loved it! I got the other side of my nose pierced and my mom got her first ever nose piercing as well. The staff is extremely kind, upbeat, and very educated on all things body piercing, the jewelry, & even the companies they get their jewelry from. Our piercer, Jessica, was fantastic and I absolutely loved her attention to detail and sanitation! Their pricing is also very accommodating for whatever your budget is. They have such a wide price range of jewelry & I love that. 10/10 recommend :)

Had a wonderful experience here today! The staff are very kind, patient, and knowledgeable. Everything was thoroughly explained and I felt totally comfortable the whole time. The hardest part was deciding on the jewelry since they had such pretty options. Will definitely go back for my recheck (and if I get any future piercings).

I had several questions about a piercing. I called and spoke with Grey who took her time explaining everything to me. She was patient, personable, and answered all of my questions. Based on my experience with her, I came in for a jewelry change for my nose piercing. The whole staff is great! Everyone is so friendly and genuinely knows their stuff!

So let me tell you about Jordyn White: piercing phenom, hole-punching extraordinaire!Ive personally come to Jordyn for multiple piercings now and everything his pierces is always pain free, Im not sure how he does it...okay that last bit might be a stretch, a wee fib even, but I can say in all truth that Jordyn does do his finest to minimize the pain and takes exceptional care of you when youre in his chair.Now about the business. The jewelry selection at Ideal is beautiful and priced as expected given the fine quality of the pieces. The business is clean and sterile, which in number 1 in my book when it comes to piercing and/or tattoos.. There are some rules in place for COV-ID stuff and facial piercings currently but thats to be expected, call if youve got questions regarding your hole of choice. And yeah, your welcome...I just introduced you to the best of the best. Enjoy!!

Literally had the best experience today. Ive been wanting my septum forever and finally just did it. Made an appointment online after seeing amazing Google and Instagram reviews and posts. Got right in the same day and had the best help from both peoples working. They have an amazing jewelry selection and so had great advice around what I was going for. Jessica did the piercing and was so thorough, so sanitary, experienced, and fun. Cant wait to go back when its healed and upgrade. Would definitely go back! 😊

I got 4 lobe piercings done last year by Jake and he was incredibly thorough with placement, and aftercare instructions. I went again yesterday (finally) to get the piercings downsized and decided to get a daith piercing as well. Jordyn was also super thorough in jewelry options as well as what to expect during the healing process. The pain was definitely less than I expected, Jordyn and Jake both do a phenomenal job!The jewelry is expensive, but it’s all high quality and worth it. The prices aren’t listed but they have no problem telling you what they cost, you just have to ask. There’s no judgement if somethings out of your price range. Expect to pay about $50 per piece of jewelry on top of piercing fee.The staffs very personable and they care about your piercing and placement as much as you do. I wouldn’t want to get pierced anywhere else!

Ive been being pierced and getting jewlery here since 2019 and everytime the service has been great! The staff works hard to answer questions and make sure youre comfortable. Also they were super accommodating when I needed to change up appointment times!

Incredible place. Everyone is ridiculously friendly and helpful from the front desk to the piercers. I was able to get a next day appointment booking online. They’ve got great jewelery choices and spent a lot of time making sure to get everything right I’ve been to other piercers in A2 and the vibe here is unmatched.

This place is super great. I got my nose pierced about 4 months ago at needle masters in Toledo, Ohio and I kept getting irritation bumps. The guy here actually educated me on why I was getting bumps. I had an “L” shaped piercing that kept moving everywhere. I had NO idea you could get piercings fitted to your nose. He really helped me and educated me about my piercing. Also, they take sanitization seriously here! They don’t just wipe things with an alcohol wipe. They put your piercings in some machine that sanitizes them, this was overall a great experience!!!!!

All staff members are incredibly nice and helpful! Everything is also super clean and they do a wonderful job making sure all jewelry and tools are fully sanitized before you get your piercing. Great environment overall.

I went here to get my vertical labret done and my piercer josh did a wonderful job. at first i was scared because previous piercing shops left me anxious to get more. but i had a great experience here. i waited for about 3 and a half hours for service, but they were short staffed (one worker) and i still think it was worth it. they are very good at getting back to you ASAP either by email or phone call. very professional and kind people. i recommend coming here for any piercing.

Great experience, you do need an appointment which can be done online but I was lucky enough to walk in during an opening. Jessica was very informative and made me feel at ease. Very clean and friendly environment. Will be going back for all my piercing needs.

Got a rook piercing a few days ago, it was a great experience. The shop had a very wide selection of jewelry with a large price range (all high quality). Ive always had a great time at this shop - all of the employees are SO nice and welcoming which is great when you may feel a bit intimidated. They thoroughly explain every part of the process and patiently work with you to find the best fit, placement, and options for your body (shout out to Josh and Jessica for being honest that a septum piercing wasnt the best choice for me - I still went home with something Im super happy with.)Rem is always super sweet, Jessica did a perfect job with my nostril piercing and made it so comfortable, Jake got my ear stretching started for me and is always fun and kind. You all are great! Also, the shop is reeeeeally pretty and nice to look at.

I really wanted to love this place, I will say the staff are really nice, they take walk ins, and the jewelry selection is great! However, every piercing I’ve gotten from here has had some kind of issue with healing, which I haven’t had with any APP certified piercers. There’s been at least 3 piercings I’ve had to take out because they weren’t healing or didn’t heal correctly, which sucks because piercings can be pretty expensive! If you want to take a risk, go for it, but otherwise find an APP certified piercer.

Ive known Josh and Jessica for 8y now; theyve pierced and shinied me through undergrad, my first job, my wedding, and so much more. By now, theyre like family to me. They are so welcoming, friendly, and know how to educate anyone who comes through their doors.Josh is an incredibly precise and detail-oriented piercer. By now, I trust his judgment instinctively, because I know whatever he does will be both gorgeous and heal well. Their additions of Jordyn and Jace round out an entirely wonderful team. I recommend Ideal Body Piercing to every person who comments on my jewelry, or talks about their issues with piercings in the past. Staff is super friendly and the piercing process felt incredibly safe and sanitary. Everything was cleaned and sterilized before the piercing and they provided good instructions and free check ups afterwards. I got my nose and cartilage pierced here and couldnt be happier with the results! This is definitely a place Id recommend if youre thinking of getting any new piercings. They also had a large range of earrings available as well and Im obsessed with the ones I chose! Definitely pricey but high quality and worth the extra money!

After a friend recommended this place, I went in myself. I wanted my nose pierced and I was terrified. The people here were so warm and inviting. There were several people there for piercings but not once did they seem rushed or stressed. The lady that helped me pick out jewelry was super sweet and helpful. Joshua did my piercing and he was so so thorough and kind. He really knows his stuff. These two people were able to seemingly effortlessly make me feel comfortable. The place is impressively clean and has tons of options for jewelry. They provide proof that they’ve sterilized the jewelry and offer a lifetime of support. My teenager went with me today and has decided she’d like to get her ears pierced. I will definitely be taking her here. Highly recommend!!

I came in for a nose piercing, and left very confident that I could not have gone to a better place! I am beyond happy and impressed with this shop. The cleanliness, atmosphere, and overall feel of the shop was great. You can tell that both Josh and Jessica focus on personalized care for each client. Josh did my nose piercing and it was 100% easy and painless (and I am very sensitive to pain). Awesome studio to get pierced. I have been going here since Josh first opened the place, and have gotten some amazing new jewelry from their selection, and I most recently got my navel pierced. I constantly recommend people to get pierced here, and my sister got her second lobes done at Ideal and was super pleased with the experience. Theyre also taking extensive safety measures during the pandemic, which I appreciate. If you want a good, clean, trustworthy establishment with fantastic customer service and an overall great experience, this is the place to go.

Super difficult to work with this manager and she talks over you or interrupts you in conversation. Jake goes back on what he says to accommodate a Friday appointment and the manager pushes you to go with a Tuesday - Thursday appointment day because you happen to mention your older child is a nervous type. So then they think they know what is best and dont want to provide service on their busy day because they think it will be too much for your child. They dont know my child or what is best for them. I had to get a photo ID to go along with my childs birth certificate so she could have her lobes pierced and as I call back to confirm for Friday, I get told no. Terrible management and customer relations. The only thing they manage is to push people away. Im done!Update: 9/29The comment left by the owner is a complete gaslighting lie! Never once did I swear at the woman on the phone. I told her I was disappointed.Anyone on Google maps can read their other reviews and see how they try to spin it in their favor. My review was honest and forthright.

This place is absolutely fantastic. Very high energy, super positive and I felt like I was with friends. Everyone was so nice and thorough with the process and the aftercare. I had to wait awhile but it was WELL worth the wait. Joshua did me and my girlfriends piercings and he was amazing. Super professional and very clean. We left extremely happy.

I had my helix pierced by Josh and have been seeing him for help with changing jewelry for the past few years. Josh and Jessica are both super friendly, fantastic people. The person who helped me was amazing!! They were super thorough and answered all of my questions. This place is a lot more pricey than other places to get a piercing though. Amazing customer service, just wish they had jewelry that was less than $50... Like plain studs or hoops. This was previously a poor review due to a bad experience with a former piercer. Tldr I went in for a piercing in a very vulnerable area and felt body shamed. I posted a review and josh(the owner) went above and beyond he contacted me and made sure to express his sincere apology. The other piercer had been let go for other reasons but would have been on the spot if hed been made aware.He made sure we only did what I was comfortable with and was beyond awesome. I feel safe welcome and comfortable in his chair and know he will do as good a job as is physically possible.I decided to replace my review so people have the conclusion and dont have to read multiple comments.

Highly recommend this place! The whole staff was super friendly and helpful. I walked in not knowing what I wanted other than getting my lobes pierced. Both the owner and Jake sat with me picking out the best combination of jewelry that would complement my ears. Jake pierced them and was absolutely the best! I came in to get my first ever cartilage piercing. I ended up waiting over a hour for it to be done but the people who work here are the absolute best, they made me feel comfortable and very much welcomed. I decided to get my piercing ever, a septum piercing. The piercer Jake was extremely welcoming and patient. He answered any questions I had and was extremely kind. He also made sure everything was completely sterile and even had a test strip that assured everything met the standards. Omg i absolutely love this place. The jewelry is a bit expensive, however.... the jewelry is quality and when you add in the wonderful experience you get why not pay for quality? The staff is super super nice, they explain everything and coming from me (an ICU nurse) their sterile technique to pierce me was perfect. They do better with cleanliness and sterilization than some of the nurses I know. Would definitely recommend those I know to go here. You might spend more than expected but you wont regret it. The piercing it self was cheap its the jewelry that cost.

I loved this piercing studio! Still accepting walk-in’s which is nice. I wanted to purchase all new jewelry for my ears and the piercer spent a long time helping me decide what jewelry to get. I love that they sell high quality jewelry. When I got put in the piercing room everything is sterilized with a statim as you wait and they wash their hands and utilize sterile gloves. Beautiful, clean studio with a great selection of high quality jewelry. Everyone there was extremely professional and made me feel at ease during my appointment. I had my rook done at another studio and it rejected, but they were able to re-pierce it for me here despite the tricky location and scar tissue. Will only go back here for all my future piercings!

This place is great as far as cleanliness and being honest about how to get the best healing (e.g. they wont pierce things with a hoop due to things healing poorly with a hoop). Piercing experience was very kind and supportive. However, the prices are a bit shocking. They have some cute dainty pieces but prices range $120 to $220 PER EARRING. I understand this is solid gold but its just the top (the stud inside you and the backing are titanium) and you can get solid white gold earrings elsewhere for about $50 for two, so this was absurd. And they give you weird looks if you act shocked by the price, so you feel weird feeling weird about it. Basically its a jewelry boutique, so keep that in mind. They arent transparent about their prices and they arent listed anywhere so you dont know until your appointment. I paid $550 for just a conch and a cartilage. Had this happen to my friend as well, who paid over $300 for just some lobe studs. And they still charge you for the saline solution and they strongly encourage you to come back later to pay to have the studs changed to shorter ones after healing. Overall, Im disappointed by the experience as I felt there was no transparency in advance and I felt kind of trapped once I started the process. Again, the piercing process itself was good. Just be aware of the cost.

Ive been here three times in the last month and have had an amazing experience every time. The staff was very knowledgeable and friendly, walking me through the process every step of the way. I have already brought others in, and recommend Ideal Body Piercing to all of my friends and family.

Piercer was professional with intimate piercing. I was well equipped with knowledge and supplies to ensure my piercings healed properly. VERY BUSY! We did a simple walk in on a weekend and waited quite a while. It speaks to their good reputation and skill. Make an appointment to avoid a wait.

I took my Daughter for her 14th birthday to get her nose pierced. The staff was amazing and walked us through every step. They was vary clean and take sanitation very serious. We was so pleased we wanted to go back this year to get her industrial pierced but they said shes too young I have to wait until shes 16. I definitely recommend it.

I was a regular customer of Joshs when he worked in Ann Arbor previously, and I was so sad to see him go out to Colorado. When I saw he was opening a new shop with Jess back in Ann Arbor, I was elated! First, the shop looks AMAZING! The space is warm, open, and welcoming. It is immaculately clean. And, they have updated the paperwork process, so everything is electronic and super efficient. Jess was super helpful and patient as I hemmed and hawed on picking out jewelry. The jewelry selection is expansive and utterly beautiful! Josh was -- as always -- super awesome. He, honestly, is such a teddy bear, and he exudes warmness! Despite not seeing him in years, he recognized me and welcomed me into the shop like family. He is such a positive and funny person. He wants to make you feel as comfortable as possible during the process, so the jokes keep coming to make sure youre relaxed. I dont think I have laughed that much in a while. He explains every step of the process before and during, so you know exactly is happening at all times. He is happy to answer ANY questions you have. I am SO HAPPY that Jess and Josh returned to Ann Arbor. I will always come back to Ideal for all my future piercings and jewelry needs. I hope they never leave again

This is the only piercing shop I will come to, and it’s an hour away from me if that says anything. Beautiful selection of body jewelry and the nicest people in the world work here. Josh is SO friendly and so very knowledgeable in body modifications. He’s done all my piercings except my septum I got done today which was done by Jake (who was just as awesome as Josh!) Will always be a returning customer here! Thank you always :-)

Jake did a nostril piercing for me today and he absolutely killed it! He made sure to take care in lining it up with my pre-existing nostril piercing on the other side and explained each step clearly throughout the process. I had a wonderful experience today and I hope to come back and get more piercings here someday!

Josh and Jess are the nicest folks around. Josh has pierced my bridge, and nostril, as well as hooked up all my other piercings with quality jewelry. When I’ve wanted something that they didn’t have on hand, Jess has been happy to special order whatever strikes my fancy. Josh is an expert level professional piercer, can geek out about esoteric piercing knowledge, or debate who has the best hot wings. Whatever I stop in for, I always have a good time. I recommend Ideal to any family and friends looking to add a new shiny to their collection.

It was such a great experience. Right when we walked in we felt comfortable and everyone was so nice. There were only 2 other people, who were employees, inside the building with me and another person with me. It was super clean and they cleaned everything in front of me so I felt extremely safe and comfortable being there. On the pricey side for sure but it was totally worth it!

I never leave reviews because i never think about them but i absolutely *have* to leave a review for this place. i just got my septum here and the whole experience was so wonderful. i got my piercing done by jake, i unfortunately didnt get the other workers name but he was also dope, and jake was cool, calm and so reassuring throughout the entire process. he laid everything out and walked through every step of the way. before i made my appointment here i read some comments about the overly priced jewelry and yeah there are some pieces that are expensive but its not my fault i dont have that kind of money and they do have some budget friendly options as low as 30 dollars. my piece of jewelry ended up being 50 dollars so still within my budget. dont ding the artist/company because you dont have that kind of money, i was shown a beautiful piece but i couldnt afford it and they were completely understanding and showed me options for my budget. another big big thing i want to mention is the level of caution they take when making sure the entire process is sterile, im sure if they wanted to they could have open heart surgery in here it was so clean. they went through all of the aftercare steps and provided me with my aftercare necessities. ill 110% be coming back in the future not only for piercings but for jewelry as well. thanks guys you were awesome!

I had been wanting a nostril piercing for a few years, and finally made the decision to get it. In search of a great shop, Ideal Body Piercing came up. The website was very informative and I had a few questions that I was able to ask over email. Jessica responded to my email questions the next day and was very helpful. I made the decision to visit the shop in person to clarify a few more questions I had. Jessica was there and greeted me and was able to help me make my final decision on whether to get the piercing. With options of how to hide the piercing because of my job, it allowed me to make the decision to get the nostril piercing. Jake was the gentleman who was going to perform the piercing, he explained everything to me. He walked me through the waivers, and explained step by step all of the procedures of the entire process. Jake showed me everything, and the jewelry selection is vast. It was hard to make a decision on which stud to get. Jake was very helpful to show me all of the available options and sizes. I decided on an opal stud and next Jake took me to a piercing room. He explained everything in detail about what was going to happen, and performed the nostril piercing. He was very thorough, and the studio and piercing room were extremely clean. Jake was amazing and put any anxiety I was feeling to rest. He is a true professional and craftsman. I will be returning to this studio for my next piercing. And I will be coming back here for my next piece of jewelry. I am so glad I came here for my nostril piercing, and met this amazing team. I got a nostril piercing here, and I couldnt have asked for a better experience. I was walked through all the info thoroughly and they consistently asked if I had any questions. The piercing process was as clean as possible and left me with no concerns. I came in nervous but wasnt even nervous anymore by the time I was in the chair. Ideal is really welcoming from the outside in, when i walked in, immediately noticed the cleanliness and calmness of the store. I have high anxiety, so i was kinda nervous, but i really wanted too do this. I talked with Jess i think, and Josh about my jewlery ideas and Josh nail it with a combination i loved. Im interested in getting my doubles and have been researching areas around town to get them done at. I was considering Ideal, but their website was lackluster and did not include any pricing information. I called the phone number listed on the website multiple times, to try and find out their prices, but each time no one answered the phone. As well there was no voicemail to leave a message at. Im disappointed with the lack of accessibility Ideal is providing and will be taking my business elsewhere.

Don’t make an appointment with ideal. Very disappointing to call and schedule an appointment for NEXT SATURDAY and then have Becka tell you she scheduled you for a different day. It’s irritating to talk to someone who isn’t wrong, just accept your mistake Becka. Be clear on dates when a client is making an appointment and make sure you don’t just keep it on paper, put them in the computer right away and maybe you won’t have these problems.
