I cannot recommend Fae enough! This is my second piece from her and I am so happy with how it turned out. She’s such a cool person and made me feel comfortable every step of the way, even when I shared my irrational fear of a tattoo artist sneezing and ruining my tattoo (which Fae did not do!)She played the entirety of one of the how to train your dragon movie during my session. Again, I cannot recommend Fae enough!!

Incredible shop, great vibes, cool aesthetics and amazing artists. My artist, Jamie Forbes, is so accommodating, creative and most of all a fantastic artist. She has done hours and hours of work on my arm and I could not be happier. Make sure to book her while you can when her books open up!

My friends and I had an incredible experience getting some spontaneous piercings here! Corn was awesome, worked us in last minute, and definitely knew what she was doing. Super clean facility and easy to work with. I came in with some inspo and she worked with me until it was just right for my ear shape/anatomy. You can tell this is her niche and artform. She asks good questions to make sure she does the best job for you that she can. Without a doubt, I will return here if I decide to get more!

Martina is the best! Ive have many tattoos and she has been the most gentle and creative artist that Ive ever worked with. She is an extraordinary tattoo artist and even more impressive of a person. Martina is AMAZING at what she does. I felt comfortable and relaxed during my whole tattoo. She was quick to answer any questions I had before, during, and after my tattoo. Her artistry and creativity is something to be admired. I can’t say enough how in LOVE I am with my tattoo and how lucky I feel to have found her. I had the pleasure of working with Martina and had a great experience. She was patient, and very attentive before the actual appointment. She made sure the design was exactly what I wanted. When it was time to get the tattoo, it was like hanging with a friend. She is very sweet, kind, and funny. She is easy going and made sure I was comfortable through out the entire time. I’ve been getting tattooed here for about a year now by Shine! I followed them to this shop and it’s been totally worth it! Everyone at the shop is laidback, friendly and professional. I feel very comfortable in the shop and getting tattooed! Shine is an amazing artist, who always puts 110% into the work they do. I’ve gotten several pieces by them and I’ve never been disappointed! From design, to application, to final product, I’ve had a great experience with them and the other artists in the shop and I’ve always left with some awesome tattoos! I highly recommend Martina! She is truly an artist and a great gal. I love her style of work; she pulled ideas of mine together quite nicely into a beautiful piece on my arm. She also does microblading; love my eyebrows! Never a dull moment with her in the chair. There was always something to talk about-great conversation! I plan on her doing any future work on me.

My Wife, Son, and I had walk-in tattoos done by Augustin. We knew what we wanted and he was the perfect pairing. He put in a lot of hours that day and was as chill and professional as they come. He absolutely nailed it! I was so pleased with him and his work, I scheduled a consultation with him about a 3/4 sleeve idea I had been holding onto for 20yrs. He was super open to hear my ideas. I put a great deal of pressure on him to “perfect” the ideas as an artist. Once again he absolutely nailed it, his drawings and concepts worked even better for me than I expected. Once again he absolutely nailed it, his line work is as good as I’ve seen, his demeanor is super chill and he put in a long 8hr session. My man killed it. So far just the outline work has been done and I’m super stoked to get back and let him do what he does. There is no doubt if his color work comes out half as good as his line work that this sleeve will be more than I could have hoped for. I’m so glad that a chance meeting with Augustin turned out to be a working relationship that will last as long as it’s meant to be. And to top it all Vaiant Inscriptions is a totally unique, by the book clean shop. Everyone there I had an interaction with from the owner (Marc) on down was real and relatable. Can’t say enough good things about my experience and my man Augustin!

Mason Turbyfill at Valiant Inscriptions is AMAZING! My husband recently passed away, and I wanted to get my very first tattoo in memory and honor of him. (A dear friend paid for it as a gift! So sweet!) I told Mason many things that were important to my husband and me, things that represented my husband and our love. He took the information and designed the perfect tattoo! Everything would not fit, of course, but Mason picked out what would work best in a tattoo and made it happen! I was so blown away, and crying happy tears when he showed me the design. I did not need to change a single thing.I’m sure I’ll be getting a few more tattoos by Mason!*Editing to add photos of the finished tattoo! I absolutely love the way it turned out! Other tattoo enthusiasts have been asking who did my ink! This piece means so much to me.

The shop has a great atmosphere and is very clean. All the artists there are really nice and friendly. Darian Michels has done two of my tattoos. He does a wonderful job of taking ideas and turning them into great works of art. I highly recommend getting work done by him. Super happy with the outcome and will continue to book appointments with him.

An awesome experience at Valiant! New to Asheville, we truly have a gem in Jamie. As my first foray into custom tattoos, I couldnt have asked for a better artist. I took my time to find someone whose style resonated with me, and Jamie was absolutely worth the wait. Her patience and understanding, especially as I navigated this process for the first time, were exceptional. Jamies fine art background and talent are evident in every detail of her work, and her skill with color is amazing. I couldnt stop staring at my my tattoo! Jamies ability to master diverse styles is impressive. I got a phenomenal tattoo from Martina. The line work and tattoo itself is stellar but what I valued most in my experience with her is that she took the time to meet me in person to discuss and create the tattoo I invisioned for myself. I have been to several artists around town that I adore and do amazing work but I feel the time she was willing to give me in the creating process set her above others for me personally. And, shes a cool chick. Not a bad person to spend 8 hours with.

My wife got an amazing realistic red-eyed tree from her two weeks ago and I got this awesome bear tattoo yesterday. From concept and design to the finished product, she is an amazing artist and does incredible work. Very gentle (as gentle as getting inked can be) and fun to work with and talk to. I wanted a memorial piece for a horse I had owned in the past. Martina captured every little detail I wanted and turned it into a masterpiece. She is absolutely the sweetest lady and her bedside is fantastic. I also had a septum piercing by her and she was just as wonderful. She answered any questions I had and ensured I was healing well. I drive all the way from Jacksonville Florida to get my tattoos. This place is amazing! The artists are top notch and so hospitable and accommodating. The owner Marc is just one the best owner/operator I have meet in the tattoo business. My artist Hope was amazing!!! This place has just the coolest oddities you will ever see! He does beautiful work, he takes his time and really listens to what you want in your tattoo. Definitely getting another one done by him again. You wont be disappointed.

Let me start off with I had heard and seen alot of great work from Kitty. So that is why I walked in. I told her kinda of the idea I was looking for. We agreed on a style I was wanting. I was then told I had to pay 50 in cash right then and this was not refundable. That was fine I knew I was going through with this. I was also told that I couldnt see what she had drew up until 24 hours before the appointment. That was kinda odd but I shrugged it off. I then a week or so get a text wanting to know what it was I wanted and when I appointment was. So the day before I texted asking to see it. Then she forgets that my appointment was the next day. So I keep getting push off for several hours. Then when I get it, it was nothing at all we had decided on. I tell her Im not happy with it. And then I decide to try to go another way and get something different. I was then told it would be another 60 and having to wait again. I had already paid 60 and waited 2 weeks. But because I didnt like what she (what I felt drew last minute) I was going to have to start all over. I will never go back there nor will I send anyone there.

Augie killed it, came in with an idea he put his spin on it can’t be happier. If you’re walking in with an idea and you need a little help. You will be in good hands with him.

Valiant Inscriptions is the place to go for all of your tattoo needs! I chose this place for my next tattoo because of the incredible job one of the artists did on my friend and his wife. The surroundings were clean and spacious and plus the staff were very friendly and professional! It’s not like that everywhere you go. All my questions were answered including pricing and their appointment procedures. This was my first time going there to add a concept to my arm as a continuing memorial to my mom that passed. The artist name that did my piece was “Shine” and even though I have a 2nd session to complete my tattoo I will be back in the future! I’m very satisfied with the artwork that was done today. 5 STARS

I get tattooed by Kitty Shine, they are a fabulous artist. All of my tattoos have been done by them and we are currently working on a Disney sleeve which I have been very satisfied with. The shop itself is a great vibe I like coming here. Definitely plain on getting a lot more work done by Kitty. If you plain on coming to this shop I’d definitely recommend booking with Kitty.

I had a great experience. Brook designed an excellent tattoo based on what I requested. The atmosphere is unique and laid back. Conversations between clients, artists, and staff made it feel like I was hanging out with friends . The artists and staff all felt like they vibed with zero tension. Kitty does amazing work and has completed several big and small tattoos. The work, time and effort always goes above and beyond. I have been truly satisfied at this business and will continue to go.

Cool space with oddities all over to check out. Able to schedule a before open hours appointment with my artist so we had the space to ourselves for a few hours. Booths are open with the option to close curtains for privacy. Professional and clean all around. I cannot recommend this shop enough! I got my first tattoo (a color portrait) from Marc and his attention to detail was incredible. He made me feel comfortable and confident that I would be getting a great piece. I was beyond thrilled with how the tattoo turned out. Marc runs an amazing shop and I will definitely be coming back for any future tattoos.

Marc Robertson, the owner, not only is he the best tattoo artist on the East coast, but runs an incredible shop that has artists to do any and every type of tattoo you need!I also personally recommend Noah Burgess at Valiant inscription. I have multiple tattoos from Noah since before he even started at Valiant. He is super good and keeps getting better!

There isnt enough room to express how incredible my experience was at Valiant Inscriptions. Mason Turbyfill is a fantastic artist, and an amazing human. He took great care in making sure my tattoo was perfect. He took the time to listen and understand my vision. Mason took my vision and made it even better than I could imagine. I was having a hard time contacting a good artist to work with and called Valiant Inscriptions. They were the first ones that actually answered the phone, had a great artist (Darian Michels) that met with me and was excited to do the design. He’s been responsive, easy to connect with and detailed with the process. Will be getting my whole sleeve done and can post a photo later.

Noah Burgess is an amazing tattoo artist here and did an outstanding job on my cover up tattoo he took his time and put his love into the tattoo like it was his own. Can’t wait to have many more tattoos done by him. This cover up was started by another amazing artist Stacie Lynn but she passed away and he was honored to finish the work for her and I couldn’t ask for a better person. He rocked it! It’s so realistic and feels like it came to life on my arm!!

I seen Marc the owner for my tattoo and he did an amazing job, very professional, very detailed and just a good guy. I would recommend valiant to everyone. He had to hand draw on my tattoo to getaround my existing tattoo and just did an amazing job without seeing a rendering first because of how he had to draw it on me and not on the computer he took exactly what i had in mind and made it 10 times better. One of the most creative people ive met.

I’ve been following Noah Burgess’s work online for a while and I see an artist that is so driven and strives to do better with every tattoo. Even if you see no flaws, he sees every bit of detail and he’s so meticulous about his artwork. This is someone who I would highly recommend to anybody!He’s the very first artist to talk to me, not only about what tattoo I want, but what I plan to do after that. How I want it to flow on my arm as one piece. Instead of patch work everywhere like I’ve got. I felt very comfortable sitting in that chair.After a 6hr session with Noah, I’m comfortable to have him do the rest of my artwork. He looks at my arm and I see his wheels turning. It’s not just about what I want, at that moment, but what I plan to do for the next one. He has a vision for my arm and it really warms my heart to see someone that wants the same thing I want.I knew he cared about his work when he was the very first tattoo artist to ever post the tattoo he did on ME online. No other artist has shown their work off like that. He is so talented, so artistic, and so driven. I look forward to many more sessions with this man. This is the first review I have ever written. The artists here are top of the line. The tattoo Marc Robertson gave me Saturday is the fulfillment of a 5 year quest and I could not be happier the masterpiece. I highly recommend them for any work, and major work in particular, that people would want done.

Beautiful shop & friendly people. Came in for two tattoos (one for me & SO) Unfortunately the tattoo with Brooke L did not come out satisfactory. Some scarring, blowouts, line work problems, and color not filled in all the way.

Just visited 20 minutes ago and was completely disappointed by the customer service. My friend got kicked out of the shop for hiccuping and one of the tattoo artists at the front of the shop said he was distracting clients that are paying $150 for tattoos and needs to wait outside…. he was doing a normal body function. Do better.

My wife and I had some ink done by Kitty Shine and the work they did on our colors was exceptional. My wife had a custom Espeon done and I had a complimentary Umbreon. These tattoos were based on some small figures in a base setting (sun and moon respectively) and Kitty translated the physical examples into tattoos perfectly for our desires. I would certainly have them do my ink again.

Got a cover-up a few months ago, and all the artists in this shop are EXCELLENT. Mason and Toby are cool guys and made the experience awesome. Would definitely recommend them.

After searching different shops for months I came across kittyshinemods. Instant replies, took a flash they had and let me make it bold and bright and change it a little to fit what I wanted more. Love this place! Stacie Harwood did a large fine line floral peice for me the other day and I couldnt be more happy with it. She took my ideas and absolutely delivered. Pricing was very reasonable. The place is clean and comfortable. Be prepared to make an appointment out, mine was a couple months out from consult, but was very much worth the wait. The decor of the shop is great and I love the asthetic.

Hands down the best place in Asheville to get some amazing art. Marc Roberston completed my sleeve during a 9.5 hour session and somehow made such a long session comfortable and enjoyable. The other team members there were super nice and supportive and were also working on some awesome pieces for other people. Do yourself a favor and check this place out before settling on anywhere else !

My daughter and her friend wanted to get a matching tattoo on our vacation, their adults so G2G. This and some other places were recommended to us, this was the only place with 5.0 rating. Stone and Rob were their artists and gave a military discount to them for me. Place was clean and following COVID-19 rules and free masks if you didn’t have one vs people making a buck to sell them.
