My husband and I got tattoos this weekend from Evan! He was wonderful! Very professional with awesome bedside manner. Clean studio, in one of the cutest buildings in Barre. He made us feel comfortable and was very thorough that the designs were exactly as we wanted. We will be coming back in the future and Evan will be our recommendation to anyone looking for new ink! I just received my first tattoo at Hinterland. Evan has recently moved Hinterland Tattoo to the upstairs of the old Wheelock House in downtown Barre. The space is beautiful, cozy and inviting.Evan is professional and caring in his approach and an absolute pleasure to work with. It took me many years to decide on my first tattoo design and artist and it was worth the wait. Evan is awesome.

Hinterland is a great tattoo studio! Evan keeps a very clean, cozy, welcoming, and whimsical vibe to the place. He never made me feel pressured, he communicates well through email and runs a great business. I had such a great experience my partner booked his first tattoo with Evan, and I’ve booked another, and it certainly won’t be my last with Evan, either! I meet Evan a few years ago,I was looking for someone to start my left leg piece and finish my right leg. The right leg is the point of this story,it was started by a long time friend who died. I never found anyone I trusted enough to let touch it. Evan finished what my friend started and it was amazing. Hes been working on my left leg for a little over a year now and I wont go to anyone else. He runs one of the cleanest shops Ive been in and the new high tech machines he uses are great. No loud annoying whine from the gun. He has a light touch but sets the ink beautifully. I would love to keep him a hometown secret but if you want great ink and an artist who listens to you, drive up to Plainfield V.T. and see Evan at Hinterland tattoo. The pic is my right leg.

I am visiting Vermont from Canada and was suggested to go to Hinterland Tattoo by a friend. I am very grateful for the recommendation and had a wonderful experience there! The shop was welcoming and had great vibes. Evan was very friendly and professional, I felt very comfortable with him. The tattoos I wanted consisted of very fine lines and Evan did a great job, they are absolutely beautiful! Definitely will be back when I visit again. Evan had some unique and creative original flash and art displayed, some incredible style there that I appreciated for sure as a fellow artist :)Very gentle atmosphere and great conversation, highly recommended this shop!!

Evan is so much fun to work with, have had two great experiences at Hinterland! Both of my tattoos are healing so well. Super cool flash work but I love the custom work as well. Such a fun guy to chat with, would definitely recommend scheduling an appointment!

Evan did an amazing job personally designing two different tribute/memorial tattoos for me. He went back multiple times to change the design to make it just right for me. He took great care and spent time trialing locations and sizes once we were in session together. Hinterlands atmosphere and vibe is calm, soothing and very chill. Overall, a great experience for me both times and I would highly recommend!

Evan is an incredible artist who I have known for 20+ years. I have gotten several tattoos from him at Hinterland over the last few years and have been very happy with the results each time. Whether large scale or small, he is very attentive and accommodating during the design process. The Hinterland shop is very clean and professional, while also being cozy and homey. Hinterland also has the best tattoo healing tips and aftercare products of any shop I have been to. 10/10 would recommend Hinterland!

Ive visited Hinterland for some original flash by Evan as well as a freshen-up for an existing tattoo, and have had only wonderful experiences! His fine line work is amazing, and booking my touch up after was easy and no fuss. I love his whimsical style and creativity. The shop is cozy, comfortable and clean. Hinterland is a great place for getting tattoos whether its you first one or youve had many before. The environment is always welcoming and relaxing. Evan is a great artist and strives to make your experience comfortable and fun. He works with you to make sure you are happy with the designs he creates. I got my first tattoo with him, and since then, I have gotten another two. I plan on going back to him. Highly recommend this tattoo studio for your next tattoo.

Hinterland is a great tattoo studio. Ive been back quite a few times and Ive recommended Evan to a lot of my friends. Its a super nice environment and Evan always has a calm demeanor. Hes an amazing artist and does great work both with custom designs and flash.

I have had nothing but great experiences at Hinterland! Evan is great and easy to talk to. He really spends the time to figure out exactly what you want and where you want it. I have been in the process of getting a sleeve over the last year and I have enjoyed every session and been incredibly pleased with the results. Evan is the only artist Ive had and I dont think I could have picked a better person or environment for a project as big as this sleeve.

Ive gotten a lot of work done by Evan over the years since the opening of Hinterland. Ive been completely satisfied. He helped work up the design for a couple of substantial cover up pieces which have been wonderful. Ive also gotten one of his original art pieces inked, which I just love. Its dear to me. Hes a very skilled person and his shop is clean, welcoming, charmingly arranged and his company is always a pleasure. I highly recommend this shop.

From the first email, Evan was a pleasure to work with. His willingness to adjust the art until it was just right, his easy demeanor and his artistic skill all contributed to a wonderful experience and a beautiful piece of art that I can be proud to display. And the shop, though nondescript from the outside, is beautiful and inviting. Looking at the river during the tattoo was great. I cant recommend Hinterland highly enough.

Evan is terrific. He fixed really shotty work conducted by another in Waterbury. If you see Buddha but hear Howard Stern TURN AROUND!HINTERLAND- Was Amazing!!! While in Vegas another artist looked at the original work and just said, Laser It All- Evan fixed it!!! He did more than fixed it; he gave my art new life.I now feel purified. Straight Up!!! I felt dirty. Between the mans work and his way. I AM CLEANSED 🙌 A HUGE FAN I AM 🤗There is more!!! Evan who I met with again is an incredible humanitarian. We also have booked a second Tattoo session together. I am completely pumped to be in this mans hands & heart 100%

I went here to get my first tattoo, a very meaningful memorial piece, and Evan knocked it out of the park! Overall very happy with the work done at Hinterland, I will definitely return.
