I got my second tattoo here and it was such an amazing experience.The store itself is extremely clean and the overall atmosphere is very comforting in a way I cant quite explain in words. Its something you have to experience in person.I came in with two reference photos and Jess blew me away with how she integrated them both into the final design. People have been asking me where I got it done and I immediately recommend this place to them.You can tell that the artists here truly enjoy and take pride in their work. Ill probably never switch parlours now that I know this place exists.

I can not say enough wonders words about this shop. Not only did they accommodate my best friend who had a leg amputation, but they were professional! Chris went out of his way to make her feel comfortable and move his equipment, which most would not. He was very graceful and polite. His top-notch services made my BFF want to return for more work. The rest of the employees were courteous and made us feel at home. I would recommend Chris for piercing to anyone. We did not have ink done, but their artwork was stellar!

Brought my daughter in for a nostril piercing and everyone was so nice. Dick was very professional and sweet. He made her feel comfortable and she really enjoyed the experience. Everything was very clean too! Highly recommend!!

My wife and I walked in for flash and they worked us in great. They have one person who does walk inside, so definitely no promises youll get that lucky but between the people helping at the counter and the artist they were able to work us around his consultation.TLDR: great vibes, great employees, efficient and I super appreciate it. My friend and I stopped in here to get piercings. I received a tragus and she received a helix. The shop is clean and the staff amazing. Dick was our piercer. He was nice and the best piercing experience either of us have had. Highly recommend!!

Sunny, Standards resident piercer is phenomenal; what a sweet human and so talented!!! Jess Hobbs and Duffy Dillard are equally fantastic artists! I have had multiple sessions with Jess~she is an outstanding tattoo artist and wonderful person all around. Been a huuuge fan of her art since 2004. Duffy~Ive yet to be tatted by him but his work & art speaks for itself; I hope to one day have a custom piece by him, as well. He is friendly and forthcoming. Integrity=Standard has it. This is the place to go, the place to be!!! Also, I cannot remember her name unfortunately, but their receptionist is truly remarkable. Sunny is an amazing piercer. They did both my ears for the first time at the literary ink convention. The price was an absolute steal, and I loved their jewelry options as well. I’m not great with needles but they made me feel relaxed and made the whole process super easy and painless. Along the healing process, they immediately answered all my questions and concerns through instagram as I’m from out of town. All the way around a really great person to work with, hope to see them again!

I got my nose pierced with sunny and it was the best decision i’ve ever made!! after a nightmare botched piercing at a different shop, i was super nervous to get re-pierced. sunny has such a calming spirit and was super patient & informative through the entire process, and even encouraged me to reach out if i had questions in the future. the other staff members i spoke to were all super sweet and i felt nothing but light energy inside the shop. this is your sign to go visit!!

I called this place and was told to send an email and picture of a tattoo I wanted to change. They have yet to respond.

We called and was told to bring our granddaughter in for ears piercing. We traveled 45 minutes to get there and was told no- you need a special appointment. Instead of taking our little girl since they told us to come in- the nasty mgr sent us all the way home. Go elsewhere for your service! Very inconsiderate

Me, my daughter and a friend got piercings done by Sunny. There were 2 nose piercings and an ear piercing in the group. She was AWESOME! Extremely kind and communicated every step. We had appointments set up for 3:45, 4:15 & 5:00. We were all done by 4:15. It was over and done with before we knew it. She made us feel calm and comfortable from the moment we walked back to the room. The front desk lady was great about showing us the jewelry options and prices of everything. Overall, it was an awesome experience and we would definitely recommend Sunny and Standard Ink to friends and family. We are already talking about our next piercings. The only issue is that I didn’t look at the tray before hand, I don’t like needles much at all, and I ended up with the spiral jewelry instead of the post that I wanted. I didn’t want the spiral kind because I hate seeing them hang out. But it will be ok. I just have to make it through the 2 months before I can get it changed. Totally looking forward to the jewelry swap later. Thank you Sunny! It was a great experience!

Went there to get a piercing by Sunny with my best friend and the whole experience was amazing! The staff was very kind, and Sunny was considerate when/if we needed a moment or warning between piercings. The environment was very welcoming (especially toward lgbtq+ folks) and clean/regulated in regard to preventing the spread of any sickness. While I went for piercings, I am definitely considering going for a tattoo. The place and people are great!!

I got a helix piercing today for my 18th birthday. I was slightly nervous about it because needles and I don’t get along very well! Sunny was the person who did the piercing for me. Wow was I impressed! The place was extremely friendly and accommodating. Was in and out of there within 20 minutes! Sunny made me at ease and was super comforting about the whole thing! She did an amazing job and walked me through the process before she did a single thing. I wasn’t even that nervous as much as I expected to be! The placing is perfect and I couldn’t be more happier with my experience. They also give free jewelry changes if you’re like me and a little scared to change a new piercing for the first time after healing! I will definitely go back!!

She made me feel completely relaxed and comfortable, then did an amazing job with what should have been a very painful task. I genuinely enjoyed my visit with minimal pain. They were terrific! I got my septum pierced, and they were truly just great! She talked to me and made me feel at ease. You can tell she truly enjoys her job because she is fantastic at it! Just ignore my fat face, lol.

Ive been in a couple of time recently, the first they helped me out in some jewelry that I couldnt get closed and offered me some advise on how to help my ear heal. The next time was when my friend wanted to get a new piercing and the staff there confirmed to me how nice and patient they are. They have a wealth of knowledge and are great at what they do!

We had to wait for a little while to get an upper lip piercing done, but there was good music and pleasant people to talk to while we waited. The staff was clean, well-groomed and polite. The shop itself is in an awkward place to visit but there is parking out back. The inside is very clean and businesslike with very knowledgeable staff which is very happy to educate you about what they do, what they wont do and how to take care of your purchase.

Sunny was fantastic! Super professional, kind, and funny. She explained the piercing process (tragus) and aftercare before even beginning. I highly recommend seeing her and will definitely see her again for my next piercing.

I was very anxious while getting the piercing and the boy i had was so calming. It made it much easier to get it. Very clean as well and provide you with tools necessary for aftercare. Best place to get piercings by far.

UPDATE: After this was posted, the owner reached out to me within an hour and after our conversation I was very pleased. Her response and customer service gave me the confidence that this situation was not because of my appearance, rather a break down in communication. She took my concerns and feeling very seriously and I’m sure will make the effort that this experience is not felt by any other customers. //ORIGINAL: I came here after being recommended this shop from many friends, specifically bc of their values and acceptance of marginalized groups. Unfortunately, this is not what I have found.I came in with my friend one evening last week to get ear lobe piercings done. When we walked in it was a little busy with 3 different pairs of people waiting in line to be served. We waited on the couch to be out of the way. When we were served the person at the desk asked what services we were looking for and we told them and we were given paperwork and they scanned our ID’s. I had also asked about a couple pieces in the case and they said that the piercer could consult about the size of the ring diameter for my existing nostril piercing. When called up again, after about 40-50 mins of total wait time, we were asked if we had an appointment. We did not, and thought it was made clear in the first encounter. The desk person then apologized explained that they were appointment only and that we would have to make one, we were disappointed but made one for a later day. I still wanted to buy the nose hoop and another gauge in the case but the desk person could not find out what size the gauge was in the case and said, again, that the piercer could help me in just a moment. I waited again, but I decided to leave when a person who came in within the last 10 mins was helped with their jewelry by the piercer before me.I waited close to an hour total and in the end had a question that would take less than 2 minutes to answer to get skipped by someone who had just walked in.I left feeling overlooked and invisible. I got more upset after telling the friend that recommended this place to me my experience. She told me her and 2 other friends walked in 2 days before me and all 3 got their nipple pierced with no appointments.I’m sure there are many different explanations for how I was treated, but perception is everything when it comes to customer service. The perception that I have is that I was treated differently bc of the way that I look. The facts are simply- a white person that walked in 40 mins after me was served before me and also 3 white friends were pierced without an appointment just days before I was told that I couldn’t get my ear pierced without one. Overall very surprised and disappointed with my experience here.

Everything about the place was pretty damn good. People were friendly.. I know they do good work, very clean and exceptionally concerned about safety Etc. The most annoying thing was I got an estimate for 45 minute wait to have a six year olds ears done and it was well over an hour and a half. That aside Amber was amazing, super patient, incredibly friendly and I could not have hoped for a better experience other than a little more accuracy on the ETA. They have a phenomenal reputation for a reason and if youre going to get a tattoo in Chattanooga I wouldnt hesitate to get it done here

Went to get surgical steel posts and was greeted at the door by someone telling me I had to wear a make to enter. A little frustrating since mask mandates are no longer in effect. Otherwise, they had a great selection of jewelry and the staff was very friendly. Prices seemed reasonable also. I would go back.

I just had my bellybutton pierced here 3 days ago and my overall experience was great! Very clean environment, they use new equipment with with every client. I was very impressed and i highly reccomend going here for all your piercings and tattoos. Three days later and i have yet to feel any pain whatsoever! Melinda took care of me and she was VERY professional she knows what shes doing!

Went there at the last minute decision to get my 3rd hole in my lobes. I was there maybe 5 minutes in and out. Every one there was SO NICE and the piercing was easy and a breeze no pain. I will be going back for other piercings.

I got a nose stud, they told me everything I could possibly need to know. Staff is very friendly and comforting(if nervous). My piercing looks amazing, and I typically didnt have any problems here. In all I had a great experience and will be coming back for my next piercing.

I got a daith, my first piercing since getting my earlobes done at libby lus when I was 13. I was very nervous. Sunny was wonderful and explained everything; I felt super comfortable. I would absolutely recommend going to her. My best piercing experience by several miles.I also loved to see that they ask for your name and pronoun preference on your intake form!

Great place if you need a piercing done. First experience as a child was at Claire’s and it was horrible. I’ve been terrified to try again until my friend wanted hers done too. So glad we went here. Dick was awesome, did a great job, and I love the results! Already want another one done!

I came in today because of scaring over my nose piercing and they easily took me in (I got mine done at a different piercer). They are very responsive online and when I came in they offered to change my jewelry for free to help the healing process! It literally made my day!

Piercing hours are 7:30pm to midnight. The price is $35 per person, $10 for the aftercare spray if you want. My sisters and I got our helix pierced there. Amber, the owner, is AWESOME(even the guy in front)! We were so talkative and they were just so friendly. Would go back and get piercing and maybe a tattoo.

I have never left a review for any business ever but I absolutely had to for this because Sunny is my new favorite person ever! As someone who is pretty scared of needles she made the whole experience as painless and anxiety free as she could. The second I figure out something else to pierce Ill be back!

It was my very first face piercing and I got snake bites. The person who did my piercing I dont quite remember there name did really well soothing my nerves because I have anxiety and was kind of stressed. It went really well and there wasnt much pain at all. No bleeding and Ive experienced very little swelling. It honestly hasnt hurt very much beyond when they put in the needle. If I decide to get another piercing or a tattoo I will definitely go here

This is the only place I will get pierced. I’ve had many wonderful experiences here. The staff are unbelievably welcoming and kind. I enjoyed my time here so much I even returned with my pattens. The new look of the shop is stunning. Wish I could give this team 10 stars.

Excellent people. Very professional. Duffy did my tattoo (half sleeve) and he sat down and made changes before we started took his time to make it look right in my mind. Didnt rush on placement and made sure it looked perfect on my arm before we started. While receiving the tattoo, he was extremely thorough and very easy to talk to. Septum piercing with Brian - Amazing experience. When I walked into the building, I immediately noticed how clean it was (the bathroom was no exception) and the staff at the front desk were professional and helpful. I watched a guy before me get his septum pierced as well, and when he came outside, he had nothing but positive things to say about one of the resident piercers, Brian. His feedback immediately alleviated my fears of getting my first facial piercing. When I walked into the piercing room, Brian had me sit on the chair where he cleaned my nose and marked the spot. Then he had me lie down. The piercing was over in a split second. It was perfectly symmetrical, I had no bleeding, and my eyes didnt water! Brian was so gentle and friendly with me, talking me through the process and readily answering any questions I had - Ive been recommending him and Standard Ink to everyone since. Thanks, Brian! Loving it!

This place is awesome.I normally dont go back and review the places I go...but i wanted to share my experience. The ladies there made me feel right at home ...very welcoming. I went to get my nose re-pierced bc the last time I had it done, it was a nightmare (not gonna mention who or where) but she made me very comfortable, she didnt rush me at all, and she didnt start until I was completely ready. She was super fast and pierced it perfectly. Its day 2 and I dont even feel it. Its not sore at all and it looks great! Thanks so much Ill be back next time I get an itch for a piercing 🤗🤗💜

I recently got my Tragus pierced here and two days later came back because the front of my stud was gone from my ear. The piercer wasn’t there so they gave me a new piece to put in myself. My ear was super swollen and sensitive and the backing of the stud was still in my ear so I decided to go to a different piercing place to see if they could connect the back with the new stud since the backing was lost in my ear and I couldn’t pull it out myself after trying and trying. Went to another piercing place down the street to fix the problem and they actually found that the front stud was still in there and they said the piercer used the WRONG jewelry for the piercing. Turns out the front stud the girl at Standard used has just RECEDED INTO MY EAR because it was too small/short. I had the original jewelry removed and bought another one that had to be reinserted. Save yourself a trip and get pierced elsewhere with people who actually know what they’re doing.

Absolutely wonderful experience.Took my 14 year old to get ear piercings.Amber was super patient and encouraging while giving the kiddo complete control of the situation. Just a great experience!

Duffy made me feel very secure and actually has me anticipating a cover up I wasnt even sure was possible. I feel good that Im going to get original art and be dealing with a mature professional for work that I was scared to trust to anyone. Will update my review in a few months when its all done! :)

I wanted to give them more stars because my wife gets all her work done here but they tried to rip me off. Asked for an American traditional rose on the back of my hand (about the size of a baseball) and they wanted $350 for a mediocre tattoo. I understand that they have pride in their work but thats outrageous, I went to another parlor and got the what I wanted for $120. 15 different colors and solid line work for less than half of what they wanted, please do some shopping around before you overpay here

Its not so much as I disliked the place. Its more of a situation where I was being pushed towards a person who did GREAT black ink work,but shoddy color work....for a color tattoo OR wait several weeks till an appointment comes available. I get that since its on Frazier, its going to be trendy. However 2 of the portfolios shown to me were novices and as a person who is not under 40, there would be no way I could laugh off a poorly done tattoo and call it a learning lesson. I am thankful for the time they took to speak with me and if I was of a mind to wait a few weeks for an appt I might have been fine. But I was not going to be palmed off on a novice artist. I will leave that to the kids

My wife got a small tattoo that consisted of one letter on her wrist. It took 10 minutes. She was charged $80. I feel she was taken advantaged of. I had planned on getting some work done myself there but after realizing the artist Duffy had charged her $80 for a letter less than 2 inches in height I refuse to go there. Make sure you don’t make the same mistake she did ...

The artist was accidentally double booked, but they were very communicative about it, and still got me in very quickly. Excellent line work! Im very pleased. My mom was speechless over her signature tat.

Had a shoulder piece done by Dave. Great work. Clean place. Dave is a great artist who really worked with me to get a great piece on my shoulder. Will definitely go back to get my other shoulder done. If youre in Chattanooga and need a tattoo then I would definitely recommend this place.

The facility was clean and the staff was incredibly helpful and friendly. My friend and I came in for piercings and both left very happy. I most definitely will be using them again for my future piercings and tattoos.

We got my tragus done here about a month ago. The lady who did it seemed a little tipsy and scatter brained. Right before she pierce my ear she said that she wasnt very good at it and shoved the needle through quiets harshly I might add. She was supper rough putting the jewelry in the hole. We then proceeded to leave thinking everything will be fine. A week later I had a terrible infection, I cleaned this thing just like the instructions they gave me said, they didnt seem to care when we called and asked if there was anything else we can do, they basically called us idiots and told us no. After a month the small diamond they had on the front of the post was getting pushed back into the hole where it was pierced so they made us come in and have a longer post and bigger diamond put in. The way that they did this ended up with me getting terrible scarring bumps (I cant really explain any better). So we had to go back again to get a different type on metal because I was allergic to whatever they put in my ear. They made the biggest scene about having to change the metal and yelled at us in front of customers that were waiting in the parlor. Now today we find out that the lady didnt even screw the diamond part to the metal post and the post has either come out of my ear or the scared skin has grown over the backing ( we cant tell because they dont know how big the back was that was put in my ear), they told my mom to go find another place because they dont want us back in there shop. $100 dollars down the drain because some retard cant be bothered to pierce and ear correctly.

Gotten a couple of good tattoos from one of their artist but overall Ive had more issues there than anything else. Had an appointment scheduled and came in to find out that they scheduled it wrong and I would have to come back a different day. Now on their Friday the 13th special had several issues: the second sheet of tattoos wasnt post till an hour and a half after the event started, we went in at 7:15pm and were told we could not get one because they had cut it off (the event said it went til 10pm), and they didnt post about being done or make it known on any of their posts about the event. Not planning on going back.

Havent been here but my old buddy Duffy is the owner i think. Hes an awesome guy, we grew up together and were roommates in Florida many moons ago. When I ever make it back home I will have to say hello. Cant promise I will get a tattoo, as I dont have any, but Ive seen Duffys artwork when he was younger and he is amazing!!PS.. hope to move home one day. Sick of Florida

This place seems nice, but when I went inside to ask some questions both the girl at the desk and the tattoo artist seemed inconvenienced by my presence. I ended up getting a tattoo elsewhere from someone a little more personable. However my experience, his artwork was pretty fantastic, so if you dont mind being treated poorly, go check it out.

Awesome place, creative, skilled, and friendly artists. Took my daughter for her first tat. They were above and beyond welcoming and comforting. Clean facility and they look great. Sets a high standard. My 6th tat and Im impressed

I came to Standard Ink to get my a triple forward helix piercing. Although I was initially satisfied with how it looked, two months into the healing process, I faced issues. I went to a reputable piercer in Athens GA and discovered that not only were the angles of the piercing wrong, but the jewelry I received was mediocre quality, to be generous. The gauge was far too big and the placement was too shallow. Im going to attempt to keep it by switching to a lower gauge, but I will likely have to remove the piercings and start again. ~$100 down the drain due to inexperience with a delicate piercing.Standard Ink is good for your average lobe or outer cartilage piercing, but anything more should be left to someone who really knows what theyre doing.

Awesome shop, with amazing artists. Everyone is super friendly and the work is clean and holds up well. Touch ups are free within the first 6 months after receiving your work. Ask for Jen.

My last tattoo that I got here was highly disappointing. I arrived to my appointment on time, then had to wait half an hour before my artist showed up, by which time I had long finished my paperwork and emailed them the picture of what I wanted. At that point, my artist went out for a smoke break for another 15 minutes, even after I told him I needed to be somewhere shortly. When he finally got around to looking at what I wanted, he wanted to redraw it because the picture was not in good quality, which was fine, but his redrawing of it looked very different from the original photo. Whenever I suggested he make changes to it, he was belligerent and antsy, prompting me to hurry up. Overall, Im very dissatisfied with the service here.

I went here last weekend, visiting from out of town. The ball came off of my curved barbell and I wanted to upgrade my jewelry anyway. After experiencing some lousy customer service I bought a captive bead ring and they put it in for me. Two days later my ear was so sore and tender to touch, mind you this piercing was over 5 years old and I never had any problems with it. I went to another shop back home to have them check it out to find out that not only did they allow me to by a ring that was way too big for my ear but also too small of a gauge. To top it all off. The piece of jewlery they sold me was plated and started to chip off in my ear. All three factors resulting in my ear getting irritated. I do not recommended getting jewelry or pierced here. Aside from lousy customer service, they dont know what they are doing and dont care about their customers wellbeing and safety. They only care about making a buck. I watched them steralize the jewlery before they put it in my ear and all they did was spray it down with salt water, i can only imagine the care they take when piercing someone. Go somewhere else that not only will take better care of you and actually cares about what youre putting in your body, but actually knows what theyre doing.

Got my tongue pierced here in 2014. Now, I’m looking to get my nose pierced there as well. Duffy is an exceptional tattoo artist.

Loved every second of my experience! They made it so easy to schedule an appointment and made me feel really comfortable-- this was my first professional piercing so I was a bit nervous. I had Sunny and she was absolutely incredible, so sweet and understanding! (For reference I got a second lobe piercing on both sides and a double helix on my left)

As I walked in with my family the woman at the counter mumbled oh, here we go to another person behind the counter. I thought that could just be because there were 6 of us, so we continued to the counter. My wife was there to inquire about a white tattoo, but as we discussed it the woman was quite annoyed by our presence there and passed us off on another worker, who was also quick to end his conversation with us. Im sorry we dont look like the typical clientele. Needless to say, no tattoos will be received at Standard Ink.

This review concerns itself with the piercing done here, NOT the tattooing.I have been pierced here once by a male piercer who did not introduce himself. I asked to have two forward helix piercings done (I already had one). Despite seeing that the first was done with a titanium, internally-threaded flat back labret and had healed nicely, he insisted that he use curved barbells. I shrugged and accepted it. The actual act of piercing was fine. But then he went to put the jewellery in. I am usually too polite and shy to say no and here was no exception. The jewellery were externally threaded curved barbells which were not surgical grade! A few weeks after I developed hypertrophic scarring which I assumed would go away. I ordered some Anatometal pieces from this shop and about a month later went to collect them and have them put in. Upon arrival, the same piercer looked at my piercings which still had hypertrophic scarring and told me I would have to wait until my keloids went away. I insisted it was hypertrophic scarring and he insisted that I was just experiencing keloiding. Keloids?! He clearly does not know what hes talking about! He suggested I put rubbing alcohol on them and the keloids would go away. So I requested new jewellery (flat back posts) put in and he claimed not to have any and sent me away, scoffing at me.A month later I went back to my true, trusted shop in Columbia, MO and had proper jewellery inserted... and guess what? My HYPERTROPHIC SCARRING was gone within two days.DO NOT GET PIERCED HERE unless youre getting just, like, a lobe piercing which is kind of hard to mess up. If I could give this piercer a -5 star review, I would.

This is the only place Ill go for tattoos. I have brought many other clients in because i highly recommend Duffy. Everyone in the shop is amazing to work with. I always have tons of laughs with all the staff.

Lady did a terrible job on my friends first tattoo. After several times of telling the lady what she wanted & where the professional tattoo artist did a awful job, placed the tattoo in a completely different spot then she was asked to & charged $60 for a awful small tattoo. When getting your first it should be special & exactly how the customer wants it! Absolutely insane, I wish I could post pictures of this terrible tattoo & I will make contact to whom ever to resolve this situation that could potentially turn into a civil law suit. !

I drove about 40 mins to here and the guy changed the price after I done asked him 4 times on the phone and what was crazy he started getting mad because I kept asking how much it would be and when I got there they was rude as ever about it and wouldnt work with me so I walked out and called ink expressions and they said come on so I would definitely recommend Ink Expressions over in East Ridge to anyone... they will work something out with you.
