Chris at Identity Body Piercing is exceptional. His patience and understanding were greatly appreciated, especially given my high anxiety. After my service, I experienced a panic attack in my car, which was unrelated to the establishment or their service. In the midst of the panic, I ended up removing two earrings. Upon my return, Chris and the rest of the staff were incredibly supportive, demonstrating genuine kindness and a positive attitude towards mental health. I cannot speak highly enough of this establishment and Chriss professionalism. When Im ready for my next piercing, I wouldnt hesitate to seek out Chriss expertise once again. Highly recommended!Pictured: While no new piercings adorned my ears during this visit, it served as the perfect opportunity for a comprehensive earring overhaul. With the exception of the primary piercings designated for statement pieces, this establishment became the exclusive provider of all my everyday earrings. The introduction of flat backs proved to be nothing short of revolutionary, earning my utmost admiration and an impeccable rating of 10000/10.

Vast selection of jewelry and varying prices available. We went to the location on Belmont, which is spacious and clean. The staff is welcoming and patient they made me and my girls comfortable. Weve returned to have multiple piercings and plan to be back again. I recommend their services.

Just went in to get new jewelry for an eyebrow piercing. The people sitting at the front desk were extremely welcoming and helpful and pointed me in the right direction so I could see all of the jewelry options. They had a wide array of jewelry sorted by types of metal and price. The jewelry itself was great quality and well priced. They had a piercer come out to help me determine the right size jewelry based on my piercing. They chose the perfect size. Great experience overall and highly recommend.

Awesome in every way. Everything was very organized and each tiny step was clearly explained to me so I wasnt wondering what was happening or where that extra charge came from. Everyone seemed very genuinely friendly and like they knew what they were doing. Piercer took time to explain details of healing instead of just stabbing and sending me on my way plus shared how to get in contact if things go wrong with the piercing which was surprising. Lots of cool jewelry to choose from if youre willing to spend extra money on them. My new go-to shop until they close or I get old and tiered of piercings!

This place is great!!!! My piercer was Rita and she was amazing . Extremely informative on the piercing and aftercare . Her placement with my piercing was absolutely perfect (foward helix). She is very gentle and very thorough !!! I had previously got two piercings at a different shop (that I wasn’t happy with at all) and I didn’t intend on going back to switch out my jewelry when it was time and they were fully healed . I asked Rita could she possibly switch the jewelry out for me at a later appointment and with no hesitation she said yes of course !! I was expecting maybe for her to say I may have to go back to the same shop that pierced before , but luckily she was more than willing to do it for me which was a relief . And again, she did an AMAZING job with my foward helix . Extremely gentle & thorough !!!! The whole staff here is very friendly and helpful by the way . Definitely going back !!!!!

The staff was so nice and welcoming! My third lobe piercings (that I got at a different piercing shop) were stuck and they helped me remove them. They also helped me get a new post for my tragus. Very happy with my experience!

I got my perching done by someone else and it got infected. Later in the week I decided to go to identity to see what to do because I did not want to go back to the person who pierced my ear. They comforted me and explained everything in a way I can understand. I felt so safe and after I felt so relieved and satisfied with my service.

It seemed I was good to go and since the three people behind the desk gave me no indication I would be waiting, I assumed I’d be seen shortly.One moment I was staring into display cases at gooey replicas of severed ears, and mouths, and noses, the next I look to my phone—20 minutes had passed.. did the thought of dismemberment send me into hypnosis? Did I miss my name being called?I asked the staff and they said there’s still one person ahead of me.Odd, thought I. Why had I not been warned of such a lengthy wait? Time slips, time falls out of tune- No more time. Oh gentleman, no time for you! No plan! Chaos! chaos in a stagnant seat! Beep beep.I hear his heavy steps fade toward the exit.I can hardly keep bending these thumb knuckles when….Chris calls my name!!My time had come! My belly button irritation would soon be at ease!Chris was AWESOME. Said they were backed up. Gave me solid advice for my belly button that took less than 3 minutes 👀. If it weren’t for his electric and quirky personality I would not have left there happy.The end!

Went in for a navel piercing and instead of actually looking at my anatomy and seeing how I sat and how my body moved, they just took one look at me and said that I had to get a certain piercing due to what they assumed my “anatomy” was. The person assisting me said that my “rolls” would squish my belly button when that is not the case. I’m not super stick skinny, but I’m a relatively average size(size 8). Felt the atmosphere was really fat phobic and they wanted to charge individually for each piece of the piercing as well ($35 for the ball, $15 for the bar, and $8 for the other bell, making everying $120) which is ridiculous. Honestly, spare yourself and your confidence and take yourself to literally anywhere else.

The only silver lining of my experience here is they had water out for customers. Other than that, I’ve never had a worse experience with getting a piercing done or with the aftermath. I was pierced less than a week ago and the jewelry has fallen out daily. When I told the piercer I didn’t like the placement, I was told I needed to learn to like it. The entire experience, from consult to piercing, was truly abysmal.

One of my glass plugs broke, and after calling around to over 8 places I came across this fine establishment. The staff were super helpful and incredibly kind! I strongly recommend this place if you need any piercings or glass plugs!

My piercer Ruth was very kind, gentle and informative of aftercare. She talked through each step letting me know what she was doing and using and made sure I feltcomfortable even as someone who has gotten many piercings before, this was the most professional setting and experience ive had with a piercing. thank you ruth and i do look forward to returning for some more bedazzling ✨

When my daughter had her ears pierced for the first they were misaligned. When we returned later we did learn the person who did the piercing no longer works there. However, we were not treated with empathy and had to pay to have a new hole inserted. Can be long wait times even with appointments.

Location is clean, beautiful, and has loads of options. Staff are knowledgeable, helpful, and welcoming! We went in as two walk-ins with another friend who came with for fun, staff were accomidating and the wait wasnt bad at all! We lucked out and had Chris as our piercer--he made the process quick, fun, and safe. Couldnt be happier with the experience! The tiny cartilage star is new!

I had gotten 2 piercings done at the wicker park location, so I was excited to stop by this new location. I wasn’t really sure what piercing I wanted. But the piercers at identity have always done a fantastic job, so I knew I could trust my piercer. The location is beautiful and there was so much jewelry to choose from. Everyone was so kind and helpful. Itzel was my piercer and she did an absolutely beautiful job. I love my new faux rook so much and I’m so happy I stopped by. Thank you so much.

Absolutely amazing experience!! Inclusive, welcoming, clean/safe! Went in for a surface tragus piercing I’ve been wanting for years! I had gone to the Wicket location first, but wanted a shorter wait so went over to Roscoe location. All greeting staff was friendly, helpful, and had good energy at both locations.At Roscoe my greeter followed me through the whole process- ensuring she knew what I was looking for, had piercer come answer questions to ensure I knew what method. She was patient in selecting jewelry with me, and ensuring I got what my vision was. So sad I didn’t catch her name.Jesus did my piercing- he was meticulous, patient, friendly, and had a great energy. He explained the process wonderfully, and made it known he wanted to ensure I was happy and getting what I wanted. I would definitely make him my regular piercer!They had lots of jewelry to shop, snacks and water while waiting. Their check in process confirmed name on ID was preferred, and asked pronouns. It honestly felt like you were hanging out with friends. Don’t hesitate going to Identity!*my one meh, was the wait was longer than we were told.. but we were a walk in!*

I have been a long time customer at identity starting at the oh location on Ashland now at Belmont much closer to home. I should have written a review years ago but better late than never. I’ll start with my most recent experience which was yesterday i went in to get my nipples repierced. I had had them pierced previously (at a different shop) and struggled with healing for seven years six years later I decided to get them done again. I expressed concern about my anatomy and struggling with healing the first time during a consultation, and was given all the information I needed to make the decision that I wanted to do them again and majority of the issue with the first time I got them done was placement. I was nervous about doing it again because the pain the first time was so awful. I couldn’t even drive my car home but this experience was completely different. The initial pain was nothing like the first time even dealing with scar tissue and a day later I am experiencing no soreness or irritation, which feels like a gift. My piercer was Itzel and she was phenomenal, I will be asking for her everytime in the future. As for my other experiences, I have gotten all of my nostril piercings at identity Which includes standard nostrils along with high nostrils All have been pleasant experiences. I’ve also had several sets of tooth gems done, and those have all lasted for years. I’ve also made many jewelry purchases including some custom pieces form Molly my (first few nose chains before they made it to the displays) all this is to say I love identity. I have been a customer and I will continue to be a loyal customer.

My piercer was Sara and I was assisted by Vivian. This place rocks and they also had good prices compared to other shops I called. Sara was very friendly and professional. She also has a great eye for symmetry. They have titanium and 14k gold jewelry to choose from as well. Me and my sis will be back

Walked in this evening for a new hoop in my conch piercing I lost and to check if my helix was still open from a year ago. The people at the front desk were super friendly and got me checked in in just a few minutes. My piercer, Chris, was extra helpful in choosing my new jewelry and the correct sizing. I was in and out in under 20 minutes and had the best experience! I will be back for more. Thanks Identity Piercing, and big shout out to Chris!

Went to get a 3 month old piercing (that I got at another location) looked at because it felt like it wasn’t healing properly, compared to other piercings I have. Turns out the piercing was way too long and moving too much that it was slowing the healing process way down.The experience was great, from talking to the people at the front to picking my new jewelry to getting a new piece of jewelry put in. Everyone was very kind and full of knowledge. Chris was my piercer, but I wish I had gotten everyone’s names. Will definitely go back to this location for future piercings.

Identity has been great for all my households’ piercing needs. Their piercers are kind, informative and caring, even during busy walk-in hours. Having been to both locations, I received great service regardless of neighborhood. The jewelry selection is bigger than many similar shops and again their piercers can’t be beat!

Ive been to the Ashland location previously for various piercings. Had a great first time experience at the Belmont location! I came in to switch out my nostril and septum jewelry. Folks at the front were very welcoming, helpful and patient while I viewed jewelry options. They answered any questions I had about sizing, fit, etc. Daisy was the piercer who changed out my jewelry and she was amazing! Very kind and attentive. She made sure I was as comfortable as possible during the process. I would definitely come back for additional piercings/jewelry changes in the future!

Was super worried about getting my ears pierced, but the staff here made it so easy and quick! They answered all my questions really well and gave me tons of good tips on keeping the hole healthy! Never thinking of earrings the same way ever again!

Wonderful shop! Friendly and approachable staff and the shop is very nicely designed and very inviting. Amber and Chris were wonderful helping me to pick out the jewelry that I liked, but that also complemented each other and my existing pieces. They also have a very large selection of pieces to choose from at all different price levels for all budgets. I highly recommend Identity and will be back again in the future.

Rita was awesome. Probably the best piercer I’ve gone to. Very calm, very kind, and very informative. She explained the entire process before she did anything and insisted I check the mirror before and after she pierced my nose to make sure I liked it. On 4/15/23 I got my first helix/cartilage piercing. I was extremely nervous and anxious. I didn’t know what to expect when I walked in the shop. The establishment was very clean and the staff were extremely friendly and patient. They walk you through each step of the process and help you to pick out an earring best suitable for you. My piercer was Jesus. He was extremely knowledgeable, funny and made me feel so comfortable. He was detailed and thorough in explaining everything he was doing. When it was time for the piercing, it didn’t even hurt. I was freaking out for nothing. I highly recommend this place if you want your piercing done by a professional artist and done right. Thank you Jesus!

Although I had a terrible experience at the Ashland store, I must say that the Belmont store is completely different! Very professional! The customer service is excellent! love it! And I recommend Belmont store 100%

This place is dedicated to personalized artistic adornment & i can’t wait to go back!

I took my 6 year old daughter to get her ears pierced. Both piercers we interacted with were very professional and very kind to my daughter, and we didn’t have any issues with the piercing itself. The reason I’m rating 3 stars is because they did not communicate that the earring that they use is not one that can be easily taken out at home, and that you have to come back and pay an extra fee to get it taken out. In hindsight I might have gone somewhere that doesn’t require two visits + two service fees.

I got my doubles for my lobes done in March and they still aren’t healing and it’s July. From the front they look fine but the backs are SO close to my first lobe piercing that I can never wear anything in both besides thin small hoops with no backs. The fact that they are so close together also makes it nearly impossible to clean them. I have 9 ear piercings and these have been the worst experience for me. The piercer made me feel bad about having pierced them before (when I was young) and that I was now here getting them done again. The girls up front were great but I won’t be going back here for my triple lobes let alone body or facial piercings.

Went it for a septum piercing right before walk-in times closed. Quick and easy process to set up the walk-in appointment. Front desk employee asked if it was my first piercing and showed me the styles/colors/sizes of available septum rings.Wait time for pretty short. My piercer was Chris who was extremely nice and helpful! After talking to him and getting his and my friends recommendations, we switched from a 16 gauge to a gold 14 gauge.The actual piercing took no time at all. No pain, no issues, and the updated choice was perfect. I was walked thru keeping it clean and the healing process. Overall, it was a fantastic experience! Cant wait to go back to change out the ring once it fully heals and get additional piercings.

2024 Update: Ive since gotten two left nostril piercings here, and upon my own mistake of not downsizing when I needed to, I got a piercing bump. A little embarrassing since it wasnt my first rodeo, but everyone was super kind and non-judgemental about it. Cant wait to get more piercings done here. 💚Fantastic staff and piercers, just like their wicker park location. Very happy I went here for my snakebites-- theyve healed phenomenally.

Came in to get some jewelry changed; made an appointment. Nobody greeted me or anything for about 10 minutes after i walked in, so I went up to the register to ask for help, the people at the counter were honestly so off-putting with avoiding my eye contact that I almost just left. But the piercer themself who changed my jewelry was great and friendly and helpful with answering my questions. Just wish the front desk staff was friendlier and better at communicating. Also liked that they had cookies n candies for clients. Overall nice shop and prices pretty reasonable / to be expected for this kind of service ($35 genital piercing change fee +$45 jewelry). Great if you’re trying to avoid toxic masculine tattoo shops, very femme energy

I got my nose pierced here, and Jesus did such a wonderful job! He’s very professional. I appreciate the fact that he asked me if I plan on switching to a hoop, so he was intentional with where he pierced my nose. He also walked me through what he was doing as he was doing it. That really calmed my nerves because I was so nervous! The two young ladies that helped me pick out the jewelry were also very kind. I felt comfortable and welcomed in this location.This place is awesome! I plan on going back to purchase more jewelry in the near future!

I loved loved loved my experience at Identity. I walked in to get my third lobes pierced for my wedding. I probably waited about 30 minutes after picking out my jewelry. I explained to Jesus that I was getting my ears pierced for my wedding and what my goals were for this specific piercing. He helped me find a placement that would best fit on my ear and explained why an area I chose might not work out as well. I am terrified of needles and have passed out for most of my piercing experiences. I explained this to Jesus and he was so patient with me and made the experience actually enjoyable! He is a terrific piercer and I would definitely go to him again.I am also super excited about this location as it is a lot closer to me than the Wicker Park one and this is my preferred piercer in the Chicago area. They have a wide selection of jewelry for you to choose from.

This is hands down one of the nicest piercing establishments I have ever been to. The jewelry pieces are absolutely beautiful, and Jesus is wonderful. He is extremely thorough with the entire process & makes sure to asks questions when needed. I will be sure to come here for all future piercings!

I had my nose pierced a couple months ago at another place. The other place was only $20 for the piercing including the jewelry! Guess where I’m going with this? Long story short, I got what I payed for and had to remove the poor quality piercing.I had it redone a couple weeks ago at Identity Body Piercing. It was a way better experience. They were friendly, clean and professional. The piercing area was very clean and private. I have had no pain or irritation since getting it. I was given great aftercare instructions and my piercing feels so much better.It wasn’t $20 but it wasn’t outrageous either. I got what I payed for both times actually. Jesus did my piercing. He consulted with me by phone prior to me coming in. I have nothing but good to say about my experience. If you want to get a piercing done right the first time, I highly recommend this place.

I’ve gotten a few different piercings since this location opened. I love the atmosphere, the staff, and of course my piercings! Everyone is so friendly & knowledgeable! I have recommended a few friends here and will continue to come back for more myself!

This place has so many selections, is very clean and great energy all around. Jesus was very gentle, affirming and professional. I had the most wonderful experience here recently and I would recommend this place to anyone! LaRae, Rita and Chris were all so helpful and friendly and PATIENT because it took me forever to decide what I wanted but I love the final result and it’s all thanks to them. Full Disclosure: This review is six months post piercing-I came here for my VCH piercing. It was a very pleasant experience…A beautiful salon styled show room, with touches of gold, making it clean, modern and sleek.Itzl was my piecer and she was freaking dope! She had chill vibe that perfectly offset my slight anxiousness. She definitely took her time to explain the process to me and answered ALL of my questions before starting. She had to approve my jewelry before she pierced me and honestly, I’m glad she did.I waited a day or two before working out and I just did low intensity stuff. Nothing too strenuous like running or the elliptical. A few weights and an ab workout is perfectly sufficient. I’d waited about two weeks or so before I took on the stair climber, treadmill and elliptical.Pain Experience 4/10:On a scale of 1 to 10, the pain experience was about a solid 4. It was painful, but the intensity of it was over within seconds. It felt a bit odd and a sharp pinch is how I can best describe it. Once the needle was in, the pain was essentially over. Even her putting in the jewelry didn’t hurt.Jewelry Options/Prices 5 stars:They’ve got a selection for nearly every budget. Ranging from the simple silver, gold and rose gold barbells to luxury style gemstone jewelry. The shop’s body jewelry was beautiful but lacked the “luxury style” jewelry options for first timers. They had gorgeous gem-stoned barbells, but their design wasn’t best suited for an initial VCH piercing. Your piercer MUST approve your jewelry before piercing, just FYI.Price: $65 for the piercing, plus the cost of the jewelry. Not bad…Healing Time:Plan about 1 - 2 weeks for surface healing and about 4 - 6 weeks for complete healing time. It’s “technically healed” in about a week but you’ll want to give it some more time to fully heal. Though it is a bit odd having a piercing right above your clitoris, it doesn’t really affect your day as much was you think it would. As long as you keep the area clean, it shouldnt be too much of a strain.Swelling and bleeding was minimal for the first couple of days, so be sure to keep a pantyliner handy to keep from staining your undergarments for the first week.Working out is doable within a few days of being pierced. You’ll need to find the best combination of “underwear to exercise bottom” ratio that works for you. You want something snug so the piercing is held in place during any movement but not too tight that the friction of movement is tugging at it.Helpful Tips:Best undergarment types: Definitely go for cotton underwear for the first few days.OPTIONAL: If you’ve got the extra cash, I highly recommend investing in a bidet for your home toilet. It really helps to prevent any bacteria from your back area infecting your piercing, especially if pierced on the labia in addition to the VCH. This keeps your piercing consistently clean without being irritated with tissue or wipes; and its more environmentally friendly.-Spray your piercing as often as you go to the bathroom, if possible. This will help to ensure your piercing remains clean. I couldn’t imagine what an infected piercing would be like down in this area, so be prepared to give it the care and attention it deserves. You nether region will humbly thank you…-Expect your vaginal discharge to increase a bit within the first few weeks. I’m not sure if that’s the body’s way of addressing foreign objects or what, but it wasnt problematic.-For toy and vibrators, definitely use on the LOWEST setting first. Especially the ones that suck. You’ll get the surprise of a lifetime, both good and bad, if you apply it directly to the piercing on a medium to high setting when starting out, haha. You can enjoy the use of your toys on day 3 or 4 post piercing.All in all, it’s my favorite piercing and will soon be yours. If you’ve been thinking about, I highly recommend getting pierced here!

My 9 year old got her ears pierced by Jesus. The person checking us in was fantastic and patient despite it being busy in the store. Jesus took his time explaining the process and made my daughter feel at ease. Honestly, when he first told her to lay back I thought she was going to bolt. He talked to her gently telling her he wouldn’t do it till she was totally relaxed. She left with both ears pierced and a big smile on her face!

Kind staff, I was a new to piercing so everyone treated me well when I asked the newbie questions. I’m excited to come back here and get more piercings. The only thing I will say is the price was way higher than I expected but the service was impeccable and the jewelry quality is great.

I’ve honestly had great experiences at this place, but recently I got my nose stud replaced with a hoop and it was a nightmare. I’ve had this piercing for over 6 months and have had no problems, I even got it pierced at the wicker park location. However, when it was time to change the jewelry, the piercer struggled with it for 20 minutes, which led to a bunch of bleeding. As soon as the ring went in, a bump formed and over a week later has not disappeared. I’m sure this is from the trauma of trying to get the hoop in a couple of different ways. Like I said, I’ve had very pleasant experiences here but I don’t think the piercer should have gone forward with the changing of the jewelry if something was not working.

I’ve gotten a piercing here a couple years back and they are so nice and respectful here and I love have they make you comfortable in your experience. I wanted to come back to get my nose pierced again but it states that you have to be vaccinated. I’m very disappointed with that but other than that, I highly recommend. Also their jewelry is very high quality.

I came here to get Angel fang piercings and the one who pierced me was so gentle, attentive, and patient with me :) I have a huge fear of needles funny enough and they helped me relax as they pierced my lip. Amazing front desk customer service as well—They had shown me the jewelry and let me choose what I wanted and got me acquainted💓

My friend and I came here to get nose piercings while visiting the area for my birthday weekend. I had planned to have both of my nostrils pierced but after the second nostril was pierced crooked not once, but twice, I knew I needed to leave. The piercer apologized and offered to try again for a third time but at that point my nose was too swollen and i was way too scared. Oh and did I mention the amount of blood? My nose was bleeding so badly that it had literally dripped and ran across my face when the piercer was taking the jewelry out. Im not happy to get to travel 6+ hours back home with a swollen nose and money wasted.

The one on one experience, the expertise and the knowledge is something a lot of shops lack. They actually care about your body art here, and it shows! Also, the aftercare pamphlet is extremely helpful! Will definitely be back!
