Kristine did my first helix piercing today and she was such a delight! She explained the piercing process and made sure to say what she was doing at each step which I really appreciated. The studio is very cute, clean, and professional. I’m already planning to return to Rowan for my next piercing!

I took my daughter to Rowan to get her ears pierced. Kristen was so sweet and caring with my daughter. She pierced her ears and made her feel comfortable. I purchased the aftercare cleanser as well .My 6 years old daughter picked out 14k flower earrings for her first pair.

Everyone here was super kind and helpful! I appreciated the honesty and knowledge from the staff when picking out the right earrings for my daughter based on the size. Grace did my daughter’s ear piercing and she was so so good with her and helpful to me as a parent-especially since she has nursing experience with infants! She even taught me a baby bottle trick that i didn’t know myself and it’s been a game changer. I would recommend this location to anyone

Wow! I brought my kids to the Lincoln Park Rowan location and I was blown away by how awesome our experience was. Ami took amazing care of me and my girls. She was thoughtful in talking us through the entire process, taking careful time to explain placement, what to expect, care instructions and went above and beyond with her patience and kindness. We feel so lucky to have had such a fun and positive experience!

Took my 6 month old to get her ears pierced and got one for myself as well. The experience was amazing. The shop in Lincoln park is cute and clean. We were given all the details and knowledge on care and the process was seamless. Super happy with our experience.

I got my second piercing by Aden. They were all nice and helped me to not think about it. I like how I got extra help from Aden. It made me feel better. Got my first helix piercing today at Rowan, curtesy of the amazing nurse Kristine. From showing us what the piercing would look like (both the earring of choice and spot placement) to helping reassure any nervousness and explaining every step of the process, she truly made this whole experience even better! The studio itself is cute, clean, and it’s clear they put a lot of care into what they do. So grateful to Kristine and the rest of the team for such a great experience and I highly recommend Rowan for your next piercing!

We had an awful experience last year , the piercing gun miss fired and my daughter left with 1 pierced ear. After many tears, we were told that we could return when she was ready to do the second piercing, well it took a year but we went back yesterday and were met with an employee that was rude, cold and showed no compassion or kindness for the situation. So much so that my daughter again felt uncomfortable and wouldnt get her pierced. Very disappointed considering we are paying premium price for ear piercing. We will not return to say the least.

So great! I got a Conch (my first cartilage!) and the staff were very friendly and explained everything. I had a nurse “in training” and was her first conch and she did a wonderful job! Definitely recommend:)

EDIT: One year later and after stopping in multiple times complaining of a ball of blood continuously appearing behind my helix piercing (and being told to wait more time and the piercing would straighten out) I stopped by another location where it was confirmed that my piercing was done at an ANGLE! And I was being gas-lighted into thinking that I had somehow caused my own piercing to be crooked, but the constant pressure on the back of the piercing pushing on the back of my ear was the cause of my issues. I was told I needed to take the piercing out and let it close but because it had been over a year since the initial piercing I would have to pay for another piercing. This was likely because of the fact that it was pierced with a machine instead of needle.The second hole piercings I did are also different in their spacing so I cant wear certain earrings because the bump each other one on ear but not the other... So disappointed :( And my paid of cluster CZ Stone earrings with a chain lost stones the first day I wore them. Definitely wish this had gone differently.First of all, the jewelry they offer is enough to make you stop in. The pieces are absolutely gorgeous and obviously are for anyone. The prices range from $14 and up and they have options from CZ to solid gold and real diamonds. I’ve been here twice for piercings and had a fabulous experience both times. The nurses I worked with were not only super professional and informative but very friendly and warm. I’m not a big piercing girl, at least not until now, so I had no idea what the healing process and aftercare would be like but I left with absolutely no concerns. I got a helix piercing that is healing with no issues and I went back (cause duh, this is addicting) and got a second hole on my lobes. No pain and no issues. Their aftercare spray is phenomenal and I even used it to clean my earrings and headphones.

Just took my 8 and 10 year old daughters to Rowan for their first earrings! Adorable shop with cute earrings to shop for. The RN Kristine was patient and super fun and assured my girls it would be a breeze. Both smiled ear to ear and did not cry!! Highly recommend.

Rowan has amazing service - clean and sanitized piercings, they care for their patients, and such cute accessories and earrings! I came here in January to get my helix re pierced and they were so helpful. I had to come back a few times to fix my earring when it fell out and they were very responsive. Walked in and got scoffed for not having an appointment. Place was empty. It says walk ins welcome. You might want to change that sign. It was 5 pm and they said there aren’t appointments available until 5:45. I signed up for the 5:45 and they were able to go ahead and pierce within 5 minutes. So the whole thing was ridiculous.Nurse was very nice. Woman behind counter was very rude and curt.

I came here for a complimentary piercing..... So Rowan I thank you for that. Cool vibes and everything.....However, I did want to possibly go back in the future......and I honestly think theyre a little more expensive than other shops.

Nurse Karen did such an awesome job piercing both my 6 year old daughter and myself. Even though the shop felt a little busy she was patient and calm with us—that mattered! Really appreciate her kind demeanor and clear communication throughout the process. Such a great experience for my kiddo & I.

Booked an appointment a couple days ahead of time and it went great! Both the nurse and the other employee working were so kind and answered any questions I had about the process/healing tips. Would highly recommend! I do wish the price of the piercing itself included the earrings, as it felt a little pricey.

Nurse was rude and unhelpful (would name but she didnt even introduce herself, she had dark hair and glasses). Not clear about prices online, so expect to pay double when you go in. $60 minimum PER EARRING is a scam, especially for the quality. Ended up with infections on both lobe piercings and I followed aftercare instructions to a T. Cant warn away from this place enough.

I came here off a rec from a friend - I was a bit late to my appointment because of inclement weather, but the staff was very understanding and accommodating! It had been a very long time since I had my ears piercings and the nurse that did my helix piercings was super friendly and knowledgeable. 5/5, would def recommend to other friends!

My experience at Rowan was nothing but top tier! From the moment you step into the door to getting back to your day- the employees take excellent care of you. Zaira was my piercer and she was the best to work with. She always had a smile on her face and upmost care for me as a customer. I got my conch pierced and I was a little scared but she was very knowledgeable and made me feel eased when it came time to get the pricing! Overall I would 1000% recommend Rowan studios and Zaira to take care of all your ear piercing needs!

I got a piercing from Rowan a year ago and had such a great experience that I’ve previously written a five star review for. So I was appalled by the terrible customer service we received trying to do a walk in at this location. The person at the desk was completely rude and was not helpful at all. I’m pretty sure everyone in the store was caught off guard by the rude demeanor of this employee. I am so disappointed that this experience has ruined Rowan for me. I will not be returning and looking for a new piercing place like Studs.

This place was amazing from when I walked in all the way til the end. I believe our nurses name was Kristine. She explained everything so well and was very patient, we were a little nervous because this was the first time my baby was going to get her ears pierced. Kristine walked us through everything and it was all so smooth. She made us feel comfortable. Very professional nurses. I will be returning in the future!

Kristine at this location is the nicest, most kind and patient person ever. I brought my 7yr old daughter here after she had a terrible experience at Claires that completely traumatized her. Kristine did everything she could to help my daughter overcome her fear, from showing her how everything works to her genuine kindness and empathy trying to talk her through it. Even though my daughter still didnt go through with it, I wanted to share how amazing Kristine is and that if you have a sensitive kiddo, you will be in great hands with Kristine! When we left, I had tears in my eyes because of Kristines understanding and kindness...something you dont see very much in the world today!! Someday my daughter will be ready to try again and when she is we will definitely go back to see Kristine!

The worst place ever! Never go there!!! Had a piercing there couple weeks ago, the nurse was terrible and got the nerve, because she was eager to go to the next customer as soon as possible to make more money. Had to go through surgery because of it. Cost me a lot of stress and money!

Took my 5 month old daughter to get her ears pierced about a month ago. The nurse was very friendly and patient with answering all our questions. The process was quick and they came out looking beautiful.

I had my Tragus pierced and it was my first experience with needle piercing. I was a bit anxious, but the nurse told me all the details, showed me the tools used and the explanation helped me to calm down more. Overall I loved my experience and would 100% recommend to everyone! When this piercing heals I will be coming back for another one. Thank you, Rowan!

It was an ok experience. I would never come back and don’t recommend this place. I went here with the expectation of it being a great place and experience like Studs… Nothing compared to studs. I brought my daughter here as studs doesn’t pierce under 13 (I use studs for my own ear piercings) & well this place is pricier and def not as great. The staff were not personable, and the piercers did not seem to enjoy their job. The piercing area is not private. The appointment was not on time. The place was honestly pretty run down. They want you to tip (automatic tip suggestions) based on the whole purchase (ie your earrings) not just on the service which is so shady. They also charge $25 an earring to downsize the post (what a joke). Overall I would suggest going elsewhere or waiting till the age of 13 to go to studs. At studs you will have a comfortable, personable experience and have a piercer who I happy to be there. Studs is clean and fun and has many great options (post downsize is also free).Edited to add: the rowan nurse here was NOT friendly with my daughter and did not make it memorable/a celebration nor was it a calm environment at all. She did not engage with her/ ask her name/ nothing. She was not empathetic and did not use any therapeudic communication. The piercers are not in a private area and people are lined up waiting while watching you get your ears pierced. I do see based on the rowan website that Rowan aspires to be what the owner responded- but not the case at this location.

I have gotten multiple piercings here & never ever had an issue with any infections, discomfort, etc. I have recommended this to everyone I know, even my baby niece!

I walked into the Sheffield location without an appointment because I had lost the flat back of my original Rowan earring. The whole staff was so kind and took great care of me. They replaced the earring back and tended to my sore ear with such great care. I would recommend Rowan without hesitation and hope to go back soon!

Came here with my mom. I got a 2nd lobe on both ears and my mom got a helix. Came in 30 minutes early before our appointment, but they were kind enough to do us. Had an amazing time, very kind and patiently answered all my questions and was very transparent about pricing and my total. They also talked about aftercare which was very helpful! Just double check with them which earrings you want. But other than that it was amazing! Coming back for more!

I have been wanting to get my almost 2 year old daughters ears pierced for a while, but was nervous to since it seemed like the only option was Claires and I didn’t want to take her there. Found this place on a google search and liked how welcoming the ambiance was and went as a walk in. Was much pricier than I expected, but didn’t mind the price since the staff was so helpful and kind, especially to my daughter throughout the process. Hoping she doesn’t get an infection but appreciate that I can go back in if she does. Also love that they had lollipops and stickers which helped my daughter feel better about the piercing!

Staff was nice but seemed overworked, likely given extremely small store environment. I also feel that I was ripped off in terms of price - most piercing studios include the price of piercing and aftercare with the price of piercing jewelry, but Rowan charges $70 per pair of piercings then at least $50 for piercing jewelry, which is not made clear through advertising. If youre looking for a well-done piercing that wont charge you an arm and a leg, look elsewhere.

I was not pleased with the service here. First time we went they didn’t have our reservation on file. After driving 45 minutes to get there they told us there was nothing they can do. Although the website says walk-ins welcome. The second time we came the associates were rude. My husband was asking questions and the look that was given to my husband was stale. I asked to have the dot moved once because it was not centered and did not want to ask again given how rude she was. Had I known I would have this experience I would have chosen to go else where. One of the holes on my daughters ears was pierced uncentered.

Went with a friend to get her ears pierced for the first time and staff was RUDE like didn’t even say hi just said “are you ALL getting your ears pierced” when we walked in. Just a yucky taste to walk in and that’s the first question in a mean snarky tone. Also $143 for two ear piercing is unbelievable.

At 27 years old I got my first piercing. I am pleased with how my piercing turned out, but was disappointed in the customer service. When my friends and I arrived, we were not greeted kindly and it was disappointing after finally facing my fears.

Got my cartilage pierced here and went back months later to get the stud changed to a hoop. After making an appointment and paying for an Uber, I was I told they would not change my stud to a hoop. Instead they recommended that I buy another stud with a flat back instead of the stud they originally sold me for my piercing. The original jewelry they suggested has a bulky back and snags regularly. When I got the piercing I asked when I could come back to change the jewelry and waited that amount of time but was still told they would not change the jewelry when I returned. I will not be returning and suggest that you go elsewhere. Seems as though the staff is disorganized and trying to make sales instead of suggesting the correct pieces the first time.

The process was super professional. The staff was very well informed.

The shop itself was cute and clean and the staff is really nice. I went about 6 weeks ago and at the time they did not yet have the capability to do needle piercings, only piercings using the hand-held device. I feel like because of this one of my lobe piercings is uneven and pierced at a weird angle and it’s been prone to infection, despite cleaning it multiple times a day. The front desk also mixed up my studs with my friends studs and we didn’t realize until after we were pierced. Thankfully we still liked what the other had picked out, but it would’ve been nice if the piercer would’ve confirmed the studs before piercing us. My only other issue is that Rowan advertises that the piercing professionals are nurses, but then they ask if you want to tip at the end when paying. Nurses are not allowed to accept tips, and feels unethical that they are asking and allowing this.

I honestly loved my visit to this studio. Everyone was so lovely and nice and they had a great selection of jewelry to purchase. It was very clean which is important when you’re getting a piercing anywhere. I decided I wanted a second helix piercing. It’s my 6th so I’m no stranger to upkeep and aftercare. Unfortunately the jewelry chosen for my piercing was too tight and made it difficult to clean. My piercing ended up getting severely infected and I was put on antibiotics. Truthfully, I think a place like this is fine for lobe piercings but for trickier placements more prone to an infection like a cartilage I’d go to someone APP (association of professional piercers) certified next time. No hate to this business whatsoever I think truthfully it was just not the best decision I could’ve made for the piercing I wanted.
