Kollective Tattoo Studio

I went in today for a little tattoo and had the best time on my first visit. Such a cool shop and it’s filled to the brim with the most unique items. It’s like a museum I could look around forever. Everybody on staff was very polite and I felt welcomed. Lexi did my tattoo and it came out perfect. Everything was clean and I felt like I was in good hands. I’m confident I’ll be back here in the future. Highly reccomend!!

I CANNOT say enough good things about Andrea and Kollective Studio! Today I went in for my first ever tattoo and I am so thankful I went to Kollective Studio! From the first contact with Lexi to set up an appt to working with Andrea to design my tattoo and decide where to put it to actually getting the tattoo, every step was easy and seamless. Everyone was so friendly and accommodating. Andrea went above and beyond to help ease my anxiety and used a gentle touch so it was almost pain free. Cost was fair and what I expected. I will definitely be back once I figure out what I want to do next! Thank you thank you thank you Andrea and the entire Kollective Studio staff! Yall are amazing!!! ❤️ 10/10 recommend!!!

Steve did a great job with my first tattoo. Worked and created a design that I loved even though I wasn’t 100% sure what I wanted and gave minimal guidance. Was efficient, patient, and did a fantastic job with the actual tattoo itself. Can’t recommend this place enough!

We went on Saturday for a couple of small tattoos. Steve took care of mine and I couldn’t be happier. My wife had Andrea and enjoyed her as well. We will definitely be going back.

Andrea was lovely! Professional and friendly. Unlike most tattoo shops, walking into this one I actually felt welcomed! The interior is really cool too with cute little taxidermy animals all over. She made my sisters first tattoo extremely pleasant and calmed her nerves. I will absolutely be back.

The place is conveniently located for me. When I first walked in, I liked the vibe right away. I loved the stuffed animals around the shop. The shop is clean and they take the necessary precautions to protect the clients and workers.When I met my tattoo artist, Steve Thompson, he was really cool. He was nice and understood completely what I wanted. He drew a picture of my idea and it was spot on.He and I talked the whole time! However, our talking didn’t take away from his mission of creating the perfect tattoo. He’s a professional 100%!As the tattoo progressed, the vision was quickly recognized and I loved it right away. 12/10 experience. I spoke with Andrea about doing a walk-in on super short notice. Within one hour, I was on the table with Steve, who made my first tattoo super easy and (Mostly) painless. A week later, my autograph tattoo on my chest has held strong and has healed super well. The price was super agreeable and the work was well beyond worth it. I’ll definitely be back soon for more work, and can’t wait to see both artists again!

Very disappointed in their professionalism. They were more than glad to take my money but when it came to standing behind and finishing their work I was told to shove off and left to find another artist to finish up my piece. Shameful!

Ive been getting tattooed by Liz for 4 years now and Ive always been so happy with her work! I trust her to pick the colors in my tattoos and Im always in love with the outcome. Kollective Studio is a great space: clean, well decorated, and full of awesome artists. I love that its owned by a woman and that she employs two other lady artists. Liz is my go to because Ive been going to her for so long, but Id trust anyone there to tattoo me. Ive gone to another well known Cleveland tattoo shop before, and my tattoos from Liz blow my other two out of the water. Kollective Studio is the place to get your next tattoo, for sure!

Visiting Cleveland for the first time, i wanted a memorable souvenir. Read reviews of some local joints and this female owned studio was the winner!I hate to admit I dont remember the artists name but HE rocked my tat out! We visited during the week, which was quiet and we were seen right away. Plenty of taxidermy eye candy to entertain you while you wait. Looking for quality, affordable, exquisite work? Look no further!

This place is absolutely awesome. Steve is an incredible tattoo artist and did some amazing work on my cover-up. I will be going back for a full sleeve and have nothing but good things to say about these folks. Best tattoo shop in Cleveland hands down.

The woman that works here seemed nice. But honestly she rushed through me and my friends tattoo. I made the linework myself and even had rough draft pictures to show her what we wanted. Lines are all messed up, and the coloring we got was way off. My friends pink is barely noticable at the bottom and my green look more like yellow acid than neon green. And then she forgot white for the shines in the eyeball and acted sassy when i reminded her about the blue. Rushed work for a high price. Dont reccomend.

Steve was awesome!Got a small tattoo on my wrist, just simple text, and was in and out of there in less than 20 mins.Dude has 23+ years experience, and tattoo came out perfect. No janky lines, didnt blow out, and was friendly as can be as we chatted it up.Highly recommend. Just good people all around!!Photo to follow after healing.

Welcoming shop. The owner Andrea was amazing. Great personality and meticulous to detail, making sure I was satisfied before, during and after my service. She conversed with me during the whole service. No pain and was finished so quickly. This is the ONLY shop that will do my ink! You guys are awesome!

I was searching for a place to get my first tattoo and Kollective had come up multiple times in my search, with outstanding reviews, so I scheduled a consultation because I didn’t even know where to start. I was also super excited because it was female-owned! I met with Andee (Andrea) who was incredibly welcoming and answered all of my questions without making me feel rushed, and I left with the utmost confidence. I was incredibly nervous for the actual tattoo, but she made sure I was comfortable and talked me through the whole experience. I am so incredibly thrilled with the work she did, copying a stone imprinted with a paw print that I received after my dog passed away. The tattoo is better than I ever could have imagined. I would HIGHLY recommend this shop as they are a great staff with a clean and hygienic studio, who want the best for their clients. I will definitely be a returning customer.

I had a wonderful first tattoo experience with Steve from Kollective Tattoo! He collaborated with me on a piece that I had envisioned and drew up. He tweaked it to be more tattoo-able and added little pieces to make it even more in line with my vision. He was easy to talk with and was willing to collaborate in every aspect of the tattoo. He even let me take him out of his style a bit by using many more colors than he typically does in a single piece. He made me feel comfortable and relaxed during the entire session and was easy to talk with. This experience has definitely made me want to get another tattoo! Thank you Steve! I walked in and immediately felt better than other tattoo shop experiences - the place is meticulously clean and the people are polite! Originally I wanted a fine line tattoo but the artist explained to me the issues these tattoos can have with healing, and worked to adjust my design for best results. She went over her process and made sure I was comfortable and understood how to take care of it. A few weeks later, my tattoo healed amazing and I get compliments on it!

Andee has done a few of my tattoos and shes always extremely professional and patient with me every time. the results are always consistent and so is the experience. I love her honesty and I trust her decisions. my tattoos heal beautifully because she educated me on how to take care of them properly. the colors she picked are so vibrant and its exactly what I want!

Andrea is an amazing owner and artist. I never felt comfortable in a tattoo shop before I went here. Being a woman, sometimes it’s hard to find just the right studio to feel safe and comfortable but Kollective is definitely a safe and welcoming place. I’ve gotten 5 tattoos here and I plan on getting more soon! The shop itself is extremely clean, hygienic and decorated tastefully with Andrea’s personal touches.

Ive been going to Kollective Tattoo Studio for years and Andrea has done nearly all my tattoos. Her work and the work of other professionals here is fantastic and I cant see myself going anywhere else. The staff is always welcoming and more than happy to work with you on a custom tattoo. The shop is very clean, classy, and the decor is badass! Each time I sit in the chair, I know Ill be walking out a happy customer.

I have been getting tattooed at various tattoo shops around Ohio for about 13 years and I have never felt as comfortable and welcomed as I do at Kollective. I first met Andrea (the owner) and gave her very little info about what I was looking for she was so patient and helpful through the process it was incredible. She stayed in constant contact with me and sent me various tattoo drawings until I found the exact one I liked. Andrea is an amazing artist and person. This is not only the cleanest and most creative shop around but it also has a family/fun atmosphere with all the artists and clients.needless to say I have gotten several more tattoos since my first encounter with Kollective by not only Andrea but Liz as well.this is the only shop I will get tattooed at and this is the only shop I recommend to people.. I am so glad I found my new Kollective family.

Amazing experience! All the staff were beyond incredible. I got a simple arrow tattoo on my hand and it was $60. Took 10 mins to do. Liz was my artist and she was so nice. I originally wanted it on my finger but they told me and showed me how finger tattoos expand and blur over time (which I didnt know at all so I greatly appreciated!). I HIGHLY recommend going here :)

Andrea has a great thing going here. My mom and I were in town for a vacation and we went here for matching tattoos. Kollectives rates were fair, the atmosphere was so relaxed and not intimidating like other tattoo parlors/studios, and the artists are so talented and personable. And they are female owned! Everyone I dealt with here was very professional and accommodating. My daughter and I both went during this pandemic, me for another tattoo and my daughter for her first. They followed healthy, safe guidelines and were very friendly during the whole process. Not to mention, we were both very happy with the artwork they produced. We will go again for sure.

I like this shop better than some back home! I traveled into town on my way to Bonnaroo for a night and Andrea was able to fit me in. I honestly don’t even want to give her one star. When I made the appointment for my daughter and I to get tattooed, I was very clear with the owner that I was bringing my daughter for her first tattoo A week before her 18th birthday. She asked me for a deposit which I promptly sent over and gave her the details of what we wanted to get tattooed. We showed up a few minutes early for our appointment and held up to our end. When we arrived and filled out the paperwork gave our IDs. She stated because we had different last names and I had no paperwork to prove that she was my daughter she did not feel comfortable tattooing us. I completely understand where she was coming from. However the way she treated me was completely unacceptable. She was mean and nasty telling me I wasted her time by booking this appointment, and having her draw the tattoos. I told her that I remember telling her that I was bringing my 17-year-old daughter she proceeded to argue with me in the middle of the shop. In front of her employees and my daughter and was very mean about it. Her tone was some thing that I have never experienced before. She verbally attacked me.It was a miscommunication and should’ve been handled that way. She could’ve been humble and said I’m sorry I just do not feel comfortable not having appropriate paperwork to prove that she is your child or that you have custody. I would’ve walked away and made a new appointment with her. She then proceeded to walk around the corner talking nasty about me to her other employees in the other room. This was completely unacceptable. All that had to happen was a calm and professional conversation there did not need to be any finger-pointing or blaming going on that I wasted her time when we were the ones who drove 40 minutes to make it to her appointment a few minutes early gave her money before hand and I left with a very disappointed daughter and I was left in a very embarrassing emotional state. She was mean and completely unprofessional. I am still in shock at how horribly I was treated over a simple miscommunication that was on her end because she did not listen. Maybe it was a blessing if she didn’t listen to me on the phone then she probably didn’t listen to me and what I wanted tattooed. Be very careful if you choose Kollective tattoo and Andrea to tattoo you.

I had a tattoo done here by Liz and it turned out beautifully! The atmosphere is comfortable, fun, and clean, and the price was very reasonable. Liz is a wonderful artist and made me feel comfortable the whole visit. Ill definitely be coming back here to finish my half-sleeve.

Went to get my first tattoo. I was nervous beyond belief. Steve was very professional and talked to me during the entire process. Other artists did as well to keep my mind of the pain. Very clean as well.A little pricy for a tattoo that consists of 8 small lines, but for the quality its worth it.

I stopped in to try and get a previous tattoo changed. I was only in Cleveland for a limited amount of days for work. Justin was awesome, he helped me work out possible solutions to my old piece to be done in the future and even found a way to fit in me in to get a brand new piece done on my forearm. Sketched it up from scratch and had it inked and completed same afternoon. Professional and holds his quality of work to extremely high standards. Highly recommend

Best tattoo experience of my life: Kory was receptive to the changes I wanted to make to the source image and came back with multiple sizes so we could fit it exactly where I wanted on my arm. These tattoos (He did two for me in under an hour) was the least painful Ive ever had, and has healed in record time without any scabbing or undo swelling. It was also the least expensive tattoo Ive had, though Ill admit to getting fleeced when I was younger. I will be coming back here for every tattoo I get as long as Kory is working there.

They are taking COVID seriously which is a huge relief. I really wanted to get this tattoo done after recently losing my Dad. This meant so much to me. Justin was kind and listened to my story and shared some of his own. This was a great experience and a great shop. I will be going there for future ink. Good place with good people.

The artists at Kollective can tattoo all styles. Prices are very reasonable, especially for repeat business. Andrea, the owner, has tattooed me for years. Over 30 hours, easily (Ive also been tattooed by George). On top of being a great tattooer, Andrea runs a clean, safe, and professional shop. The mood is down-to-earth; not stuffy, snobby, or pretentious. Kollective Studio gives back to the local Tremont Community by holding charity flash days for causes like Suicide Prevention/Awareness. They have even temporarily housed the staff of another Tattoo Shop after its location burned down, allowing the displaced tattooers a chance to earn money to support their families. Support a locally owned, tattooer-owned, woman-owned business like Kollective Studio, youll be glad you did.

Whether it has been elaborate memorial work, collaborative ideas, giving artists free reign, walk-in flash, or dumb tattoos that make me laugh- they have met and exceeded all my expectations. Andee especially has an eye for color and has a real gift for taking small ideas and turning them into beautiful art.

Please read until the end!The most comfortable Ive ever been inside a tattoo studio. Ive been wanting a Celtic/Nordic style tattoo to cover up an old tattoo on my waistline. When I walked into Kollective Tattoo, I was met with tattoo artist Justin McCrocklin. He took the time to ask me questions, listen and look at some pictures I saved showing the style I was looking for. He was professional, kind and open with me about what to expect going forward.That day, I made my $100 deposit and the appointment for our first session. Over the course of the next 2 weeks Justin created my piece, even texting me to get a couple more pictures to make sure he was on the right track. My tattoo was going on my lower pelvic area, around my abdomen and up towards my rib cage. Justin took every measure to make me feel comfortable during the process of the tattoo. Since I was going to be more exposed, I was taken to the back of the studio where there was a private room with a door.Ive only had a few small tattoos in my life and this was going to be my biggest one - in a rather sensitive area. Justin was aware of that, so before he began tattooing he told me that if I needed to stop at any time for a break to let him know. He played relaxing instrumental music to help me stay calm. When we had a few breaks he was kind enough to offer me something to drink. When we began again and I got into position he always made sure to ask if I was ready before he put the needle to my skin, giving me a moment to breathe.Justin was so easy-going and a pleasure to chat with throughout the session. Its evident he has a way of making his clients feel like theyve known him for years. Another thing I liked about the entire studio, in general, was the décor and the art! Theres no shortage of things to look at. I go back next month for my second session where Justin will begin shading my tattoo. Im looking forward to it and seeing the finished product. He has done such an excellent job and Im incredibly happy with his design, the placement and the overall look of it on my body.When my fiancé comes over from England, Kollective Tattoo and Justin McCrocklin will have another customer, for sure.I’m putting this at the end because I didn’t want to make it the main focus of this review. I’d been to 3 other studios around the Cleveland area before finding Kollective Tattoo. At each of those studios I was told I needed to go to a website, look at the artists work and then email the artist of my choice. Then, if the artist wanted to work on a piece for me they would get back to me. That was frustrating! I never received any responses to my emails. It also seemed that no one at these other studios wanted to talk to me face-to-face. I’m so thankful and grateful for the professionalism of Kollective Tattoo. Thank you, Justin and Kollective Tattoo for having such high standards and being a notch above the rest.

I starting going here maybe 2 years ago and Ive never thought about going to a different studio since. The space is super cool and has a unique creative vibe to it. The artists are great and definitely know their stuff… whenever Ive been tattooed I never felt like they where just stabbing some sketch into my skin. All of the work I have from this place is quality. Im always itching to get in the chair again here.

I love Kollective Gallery and wouldnt go anywhere else to get a tattoo. Sean has done a few tattoos for me and I love them, he is the best tattoo artist that I know. You cant just go in and pick a design to get tattooed, you have to come up with an idea to give Sean and he will draw it out for you. You will not be disappointed if you want a custom tattoo! That is all they do!

Kollective is clean, professional, and works with wonderful artists. I had Jake do my second piece ever and the work is immaculate. Everyone there was really nice and I felt really comfortable. Would absolutely recommend.

Ive been debating writing this review for months now, but finally decided to do it when I went with my best friend to her tattoo appointment at Black Metal Tattoo in Strongsville. There, I saw how a professional does the job right, and was inspired to talk about my bad experience at Kollective.First off, I wasnt the person who got tattooed, it was my boyfriend. I told him late last year that for our anniversary I would buy him a tattoo that hes been wanting for a long while, and thought it would be a nice gift for him. He wanted a place that only did custom work, and after much research, saw Kollective. He went through their gallery and thought all the tattoos seemed well done and creative, and he had a custom job in mind so we were both prepared for the process to be long and pricey. He contacted Melanie and she drew up the design he wanted: Aries in goddess form pouring out the galaxy down his arm with some script within the half sleeve. It was an awesome concept and Melanie drew it up really well, just the way my boyfriend wanted it, which is why Im giving Kollective two stars. Everything started out really promising and professional, and ended extremely poorly.Anyways, Melanie tattooed Aries first and she turned out pretty well on my boyfriends upper back. She was just lightly shaded with tones of ivory, and the real color was supposed to come in on his arm in the galaxy image. All in all, we probably had four or possibly five sessions about two hours long each with Melanie. She was about $100 an hour which was expected, or maybe a bit under. I tipped her 20% every time, for every session, without fail. And with five sessions roughly $200-250 each, that was at least a $200 tip in all. Anyways, we went back for the last session expecting there to be at least one more session since she still had all the color to do for the galaxy part.Unfortunately my boyfriends skin is sensitive and got irritated about two hours in to the coloring. Melanie said we should stop now and claimed verbatim that the tattoo was finished anyways and touch-ups were free. First, though, we had to wait for his skin to settle down because it was very red and we couldnt really see the final result until a day or two after that session.It was not complete at all. At all. All the lines are wonky, half of the color is so washed out that you can see his skin through it. There is a painfully apparent outline around everything and nothing is blended well. I showed a picture of it to another tattoo artist and he said it looked like crayola washable markers were just scribbled over his arm. It looks terrible. Not because its a bad design, but because it is incomplete. It can be fixed, and when my boyfriend texted Melanie asking to come in for it to be completed since she was the one who claimed touch-ups would be free, he got back a long, unprofessional, and nasty text where she stated that she didnt like being taken advantage of and implied that my boyfriend and I were trying to scam her. She didnt even offer for us to send pictures or come back in so she could see the tattoo, she simply shrugged us off as if I didnt just pay over a thousand dollars for a half-assed job.I was absolutely appalled. We had been nothing but kind and cooperative to her and I tipped her without fail every session. She was the one who said that the tattoo was done when it obviously wasnt. No artist would look at this tattoo and say its done, and Im really questioning the integrity of a tattooist that has little to no concern for the outcome of their work.My boyfriend didnt even respond to her ridiculous accusations. We dont have time to play childish games with childish people. Instead, well be taking our money and business to a place such as Black Metal Tattoo where professionals can fix this poorly done water color of a tattoo.

The owner started tattooing me 9 years ago. Since then, I’ve let her staff do my work too. She and her staff produce great work at reasonable prices. Great shop!

My daughter and I went together we both got really nice work done !The shop is very clean and had a great funky vibe that we really enjoyed.The artists are friendly and knowledgeablePrices were good !Going back soon.

When I moved back to Cleveland in 2015 I went to Kollective to get a tattoo. I’ve been going there every year since. I’ve gotten 7 tattoos from different people on their team and they are all wonderful. Best tattoo shop in NE OHIO.

Im VERY happy with results. Artist LISTEN to what I wanted and paid close attention to details. Made arrangements for my situation. Overall, artist was highly professional, organized and friendly. Will definitely be going back to this artist.

I have gotten all of my tattoos from kollective and i’m not sure i’ll ever go anywhere else. i love the decoration and vibe of the shop but also every artist who works there is not only amazingly talented but so kind. i have nothing but amazing things to say about kollective :-)

I love tattoos, and then i look up this shop I’m was very excited they experience was wonderful but after math was like a horrible scary sad movie i got my tattoo on feb 15 , it’s started to Scab up to where it look like i had a disease and i was thinking it had a infection so i called the shop came up there they looked at it , they said i can get it re touched up , owner told me to txts her every week with a picture and so i did but she never responded to any of my txts messages i trying to call people told me she would call back never did ... at this point my arm looks deformed i am not happy till this day it took forever to heal and it still itchy, i have scars on my tattoo and a Keloid , i would never go here again..... wish i could put pictures up
