Got me in super quick! Carl did such an amazing job I couldnt be more happy with how the work on my sleeve turned out. 1 hr of drawing it and 5 tattooing. This man doesnt waste time. Had great conversation and felt like he took my interest in Polynesian work seriously and truly brought my thoughts about it to life. Next is to color the hibiscus 🌺 and finish the sleeve when I get back from a military school. I cant wait im beyond thrilled with how it looks!!😁 He also did a great job giving me a few breaks and making sure I was comfortable. Updated and healed photos added.

My daughter and I were walk ins at West Anchor. Neither of us are an established client. They are close to our home. So after checking them out online, we decided to see if they had anyone available.Jacob greeted us at the counter, and we explained what we were looking for.We were getting a split “interlocking” tattoo. It was my daughter’s first tattoo and she had a vision of what she wanted us to get. Jacob took the time to listen and understand what we she was looking for. It was a smaller, one color, fairly simple design. Some places may have been aggravated having that on a walk in… especially if not the typical style/established client. But Jacob was more than accommodating.Jacob tattooed my daughter and Dustin tattooed mine. Jacob was great with my daughter and making sure she was comfortable and at ease throughout the process. Dustin was quick yet accurate and knocked mine out in no time. We both are very happy with our tattoos! Both of these artists are extremely talented and just nice guys.I was a little surprised at the cost for the difficulty level/size; but with that being said, you truly do you get what you pay for. The color is punched in and saturated with seamless line work!! I can say, without a doubt, that we would go back to either one of them again. More than likely, we will probably be making actual appointments in the future! Lol.Thanks guys!

Very professional, clean and friendly. Took my son Tyler to get his first tattoo here, Jacob did an excellent job, the lines are straight and crisp. Could not ask for a better job. The atmosphere is chill and the rest of the employees are friendly and knowledgeable. I suggest if you want good work call and talk to Jacob. Thanks for a good experience.

Great place and very friendly crew. The artist Im currently seeing, Dustin, is professional and very easy to work with. Best Japanese style artist in Cleveland in my opinion. I could not have asked for a better artist to work with.

These guys are great. Ive been getting a sleeve done with them and have had so many people tell me how great the work is - the coloring, line work and design are all awesome. Something else I thought was awesome was being at a tattoo convention and listening to other shop owners talk to Carl about how solid their work was. One shop owner was so impressed with the work he got a cover up at the convention. I would highly recommend talking to them if youre looking to get some work done.

Was my first tattoo, Carl was patient and very gentle. The tattoo looks better than the reference photo. Would recommend!!!

Went with a friend to get a get what you get tattoo out the gumball machine. Im happy with the quality of the tattoo, the cleanliness of the shop, and the professionalism of the owner/artist. Will get work done there again.

Jacob is an awesome dude. And Dustin was giving one to someone next to me and hes cool too. Super clean, and willing to take care of people looking to schedule appointments.

I came in wanting to get my scars covered up and the artist seemed willing to help. I explained how I wanted this done before I left for vacation to see my family and came in over a month beforehand to plan this out. He didn’t make me pay a down payment. I was told this would happen in one session and that he would get back to me and have me come in the following week before my tattoo appointment to look over his drawing. I didn’t hear from him for that entire week. I emailed Monday and didn’t hear back until Tuesday evening asking if I could reschedule my appointment (not even 24 hours away) for Thursday instead. He said it’s not the end of the world if I couldn’t so I told him I was busy. The next day (4 hours prior to my appointment) he emails me replying “that’s unfortunate” because where he needed to go was now mandatory. (I felt like he knew about this longer than 20 hours before my appointment.) Then explains the tattoo would probably take 2 sessions anyways because of my scars so he can do an outline and in 2 weeks he can finish it. Which is 3 days before I leave for vacation. I thought it was unprofessional for such short notice and was frustrated because I felt like he could’ve told me all this sooner. We both had an attitude towards each other on the phone. Then he emailed me a sketch he came up with. He asked if I was happy with it so I told him I didn’t like the little flowers in it. “I don’t have time to redraw this tattoo right now. I will mess around with another rose but I prefer it to be more dynamic and have different types of flowers. But alright” May I remind you this is going on MY body forever, not his. I told him that I appreciated his time but we aren’t understanding each other so I will look else where. I felt like my time was wasted and I am convinced he wanted me to cancel. I am very upset and disappointed with my experience.

This tattoo shop is dope. Super clean and has that old school tattoo vibe. Was in town on a whim and came in here to get some “get what you get’s” and Jacob delivered with a traditional style skull on my forearm and Carl laid down a sweet plaque doctor for my girlfriend. This is my go to Cleveland tattoo shop; if youre in town or just looking to get some clean ink check these guys out you won’t be disappointed.

Great place!! Been going here for over a year now, and have been worked on by 3 different artists for over 25 hours of tattooing. I have had my legs, knees, chest, throat, back and arms all worked on. Some of my work has ranged from cover up, restoring old work, and custom pieces. The environment is clean, safe, bright and professional. I took a lot of time checking out various shops in town, and this won me over.

Ive been going here for all of my work and I have always been blown away by the work Carl has done on me and on others. The environment is comfortable and the artists are very professional. Excited to finish the projects were working on.

Call to head and asked if they had openings. Was told to come around five 5:30. Then when I got there was told 6 o’clock I left at 6:45 after it being an hour and 15 minutes after the time he had quoted me.

Carl did a phenomenal job! very easy to talk to and overall a great artist! very thorough and transparent! Thank you again will be coming back!

Jacob is the go to artist! He just did a ratfink tattoo and and his work is impeccable. If you need work done ask for Jacob he will make it worth your while!

I have been to a couple other known places & getting tattoos since I was 18 & through all my artist & experience with my work Im going to say that West Anchor hands down is the best!! I highly suggest Shawna shes extremely talented and her work is unstoppable! I will never go anywhere else & I definitely know shes going to also do just one cover up that I did have a bad experience with someone else!! I am in good hands there!! Check it out yourself

My whole experience was great! First tattoo. Came in on recommendation. Already know where to go for my next one. The owner, Carl, is a great, creative artist. Vey laid back atmosphere and priced right. Highly recommend!

Got a Jack face from Nightmare Before Christmas 2 inch wide 2 inch length $100 for that and yeah still left a $20 tip. It is just black no color. It is a $50 tat at most. Good luck to them they were very nice. Just price if I would have asked before hand(my fault) would never have payed 100 for a 50 tat j/s

One of the artists messed up his line work....Me: hey the lines are definitely crooked and need fixedHim: ( heavy sigh and attitude) when it heals it will look better (implies I’m overreacting)Me: I have a number of tattoos and healing doesn’t straighten crooked line work 🙄 So you won’t take a look?Him: (more attitude) yeah I guess in a few weeks when it healsFunny because it’s a compass with two arrows, so the crooked line glares at you. You get exactly what you pay for here; quality artwork that will last you years and years, This shop has great artists, and excellent customer service. You will always leave happy, and with what you wanted when you walked in! The shop also often posts specials they are having for holidays and such on their facebook page and instagram account. If youre looking for a new shop or artist, youre done. This is the place!

Walked in when they opened. Dude was sitting there stuffing his face with food, asked about a get what you get tat, dude tells me he is to busy while he continues to stuff his face and takes my number to get me in later in the day, never did get a call.

Had a tattoo done by a gentleman who said he couldnt do small print and that it wouldnt look right. Ended up with overly priced huge awful lettering that is sloppy and hard to read. Terrible work. Cant wait for it to be covered up.
