My husband and I just had our third tattoos done by Sophie in April. Her work is excellent and always leaves me wanting more!!! The shop is absolutely amazing in every single way. The convent is the only place I will ever go to have a tattoo done. It is clean and the atmosphere is very welcoming. Thank you so much !! Looking forward to the next !! You over exceed our expectations every time !!!

Absolutely amazing service. It was very clean, very friendly, great environment. This was our first time here and my daughter got her nostril pierced and it looks amazing. Sophie knew exactly where to put it, she is extremely professional and experienced! She was so patient and understanding. 10/10, would 100% recommend going here!

Sofia is an awesome artist and an equally awesome person! If youre looking for a new artist, look no further. Shes very creative, accommodating, social, etc. She does great work...obviously! She did two very sentimental, symbolic pieces for me, and l couldnt be happier with the results. Im not going anywhere else as long as Sofia is around and l am alive. Thanks Sofia!!! I’ve gotten 8 piercings done here in the last couple years and they were all perfect. I have no complaints whatsoever. It’s $60 per piercing and I’ve bought more earrings from them to replace my old ones which were great. In the past, I’ve gone to the mall to get my ears pierced and have gotten 10 piercings done with a piercing gun and I can definitely say that getting it done with a needle hurts way less. If anyone is thinking about whether the piercing gun or needle hurts less, the needle hurts way less in my opinion. I was scared about getting my ears pierced with a needle for the first time, but all the people here reassured me and encouraged me to do it. I’ve never had any problems with this place and the piercers/tattooers were so nice. They’re very sanitary and do a thorough cleaning job better than any other place I’ve been to. It’s obvious they’re not just doing this for the money and they actually want to help you and enjoy what they’re doing. One time I wanted to get a specific piercing but they said it would eventually migrate or even fall out in the future, so my piercer told me they don’t do that piercing. Any other store would’ve just pierced it for the money and wouldn’t have informed me about this or cared about what happened to it. I’m glad I chose to go to this place after my friend told me about it. Best decision I could’ve made and I tell people about this place all the time

So I ran in today with a horribly swollen helix piercing from a janky tattoo place in North Jersey. Sophie hooked me UP!!! She took such good care of my really bad piercing, and set me up for success. All the good things I’m sure you’ve heard about Convent are totally accurate!!! She gave me a piercing aftercare sheet, and incredible advice. The studio is awesome - totally haunted (I got to see some cool ghost activity!!). Everything was insanely clean, organized, and 1000% professional. I’ll be coming back for the rest of my piercings I hope to get :)

My daughter and I have been here twice for piercings and I can’t recommend them enough. Sophia is so kind and down to earth. Her energy instantly put us at ease. We’ve been very happy with our piercings and will definitely return.

My 15 year old daughter had her navel pierced by Sophie. From our initial phonecall to our arrival at the studio, Sophie was super nice and made us feel so comfortable. The studio was super clean and has such a cool atmosphere to it. Sophie explained everything to us before, during and after the piercing. She took her time and is obviously very experienced. I highly recommend the Convent and Sophie for piercings!

I am super excited about being tattooed at the Convent . I have been there multiple times and have witnessed other people being tattooed and their work is incredible. Sophie and Eric are amazing people that treat their staff like family and their customers just the same. Their shop is immaculate, and so interesting to be in. Everywhere you look there is something to be mesmerized by- everything has a story. It’s not often these days that people do anything truly unique or outside the box - this place is so refreshing in its originality and you have to commend the owners for their vision. It’s obvious they put their heart and soul into absolutely every inch of this place. They don’t cheap out on anything and that is also very obvious when you enter the place. They are extremely choosy about the artists they allow to work here and if you check their Instagram, everybody’s work is superb. If you understand tattoos, you will see right away by looking at their page that this shop is the real deal and the artists are stringently vetted. Knowing both Sophie and Eric on a personal level, I can guarantee you they would never let anyone have a bad experience with their piercings or tattoos, they are too proud of the shop and true perfectionists. Soph, Eric, and the whole Convent team are truly the most wonderful group of people on the planet! This place is fantastic. I went here the other day for a belly button piercing, as well asa industrial piercing. I wanted to express how amazing and kind Sophia and her assistant were. Actually, I came in nervous and scared to get these piercings, but they kept reassuring me that everything would be fine and that if I wanted to back out, I could, but of course, I went ahead with the piercings, and Im absolutely in love with the results and the markings that I received. They did an excellent job. None of my piercings are crooked on the outside. There is no bleeding or skin irritation. To be honest, I was told that my industrial piercing would swell and cause me pain, but after attending THE CONVENT, those fears have vanished, and I have not been in pain, nor have any of my piercings swollen or become infected. Hands down, five stars, and I absolutely love this place, which I highly recommend to everyone.

I had my ears pierced and honestly it wasn’t the experience I would have thought. The place seemed to be too busy with no employees and maybe that’s not the norm but I felt it affected my appointment. I have already remove one side after one day as it’s was just too uneven to accept . I also would have preferred more higher end jewelry options and not a bulk bag of low cost earrings. Im also not sure if the one I’m keeping is even in the right place for a third piercing to be added later which I said I did want. Mapping that out would have been a nice touch. Now I’d assume they would pierce me again and fix it but I can’t comment on that because I decided to find someone else going forward. If you want quick low cost service maybe this will work but if you want more than this place is not the bestYour responses are arrogant and the experience doesn’t build trust to return or recommend this place. You kept marking the same spot so I trusted you knew better from your point of view and experience but it was not evenly spaced by 2mm. Your marking pen should be replaced as it’s super dull making markings wider than a needle.

The ONLY place anyone in the South Jersey/Philly area should be going to get tattooed or pierced. It’s spotless clean and everyone is super friendly. The prices are very reasonable, especially for amazing work!

Squeezed me in to get a piercing, not knowing they only work by appointment. Super friendly and knowledgeable, answered all my questions. Even those not related to the piercing I was receiving. My piercing are perfect at well, didnt swell or anything. Already recommending them to friends, will be back in the future.

My wife runs a haunted doll eBay business that has sold dolls to Sophie and her shop and we wanted so much to get our first tattoos in our lives from her. We just got back the other day and it was the most memorable experience. Sophie, Amber, and Debbie were very chill and relaxed. I got one on my arm of my little alien girl who is a Starseed like myself. She goes everywhere with me. My wife got a beautiful seashell design with the names of our kids written in her late moms handwriting. Sophie does exquisite work. We had a blast of a time touring the place and that 2nd floor is heavy af and gave me chest pains just at the top of the stairs and my wife a medium could only make it 5 mins up there. Will be going back for another tattoo in the near future. Thanks again Sophie, Amber, and Debbie!

I loved my experience here! I called at around 12:30pm and was given an appointment for the same day at 2:15pm. I was 45 minutes early to my appointment and expected to wait but, they were able to take me as I arrived. I got two cartilage piercings on the same ear. I was a bit anxious to get my piercings and the staff were very comforting and friendly. Everything was super clean and sterile. I was indecisive coming in and they helped me pick out the jewelry and positioning that looked the best on me. My piercings were done super fast and skillfully and hurt a lot less than expected. I’m super happy with the final product. I will 100% be back.

I actually came here a while back for a septum piercing, but I just forgot to leave a review until now!I already had quite a few piercings, but for some reason I was so nervous to get my septum pierced- the workers here were so nice and kind to me, they made me feel so much better and one of the girls even offered to hold my hand while I got pierced because I was so nervous! That really made me feel so much better, and when my piercer was finished, I got up to look at it and they both told me how good it looked. She did a great job with the placement and it healed wonderfully! The service was great, and the workers were very professional and very caring.I will 100% come back because of how nice they were, how clean it was, and how pleasant the whole experience was! Plus, whoever did the interior decorating put their whole soul into it- the shop itself is super cool!!

First, This establishment is so uniquely cool you must see it for yourself to really appreciate the attention to detail, time, effort and expense it must have taken to assemble the space and environment that these artist work in, while as customers enjoy the ambiance..I could write this whole review about the establishment alone and if you were looking for a place to get some ink, reading my review alone would direct you to the right place to get your ink done. This place is aces in every sense of the word. The woman I met who is the owner, really friendly nice woman. Aside from my artist, during my six visits to The Convent I met and was welcomed by two other woman and made conversation with two men all friendly and welcoming…When you walk into a place for the first or sixth visit this is how you make customer feel welcome and comfortable..Again, I could talk about this place forever. My focus is Amber, both my wife and I have received tattoos from her. Spectacular is and understatement, She is an artist, a professional and maybe even a genius at her craft. Her creativity, and ability to create works of art that have exceeded my expectations by leaps and bounds every-time I have sat in her chair which amazes me.. My wife and I both after leavingk each session with Amber always say the same thing, “ what a professional, talented artist, and most importantly what a decent sincere person… Totally Amber is the best.

I went to get my eyebrow done here yesterday, and from the moment we pulled up, the vibes were immaculate. From the gothic themed decorations to the friendly staff, everything reassured me I chose the right place. The piercing itself was quick, as painless as a piercing could be, and she talked me through the whole process. She even avoided talking about the needle directly when I mentioned I had a phobia, telling me she was going to cork “this guy here. We won’t call it what you’re scared of.” I had a say in every step of the process, right down to the specific angle of my jewelry, and there were no doubts about the cleanliness of the space. I’ll update with my healing process if I remember, but so far it’s been effortless! I was even sent home with written care instructions, which is perfect for a forgetful mind or a teen looking to get their first piercing. Cannot recommend enough. The Covenant is my new permanent piercing spot, for myself and all of my recommendations to friends and family. :)

Cant recommend Sophie enough!!!Ive had multiple piercings through the convent. Sophie also helped correct an error that a piercer at a different studio had made and Im so grateful! My nostril piercing looks better than ever after she fixed it for me!She helped me find the best jewelry for my philtrum. Sophie is so kind and helpful with aftercare and is realistic about the amount of pinch/pain you might feelm The conch piercing was a little intense and she prepared me for that expertly.Cant wait to go back and get more work done!

Great experience at The Convent Tattoo Studio! I had an idea for a tattoo but not a complete vision. Amber expertly drew together the perfect tattoo for me and I couldnt be happier. I would 100% recommend Amber and the entire shop. I felt comfortable through the process beginning to end. I am already working on my next visit.

This place smells like old bong water. Its very unappealing. Id like to get a tattoo there, but I dont get a clean vibe from them. I should say that I am not saying they arent clean, Im just stating that they give off a dirty vibe. MehThe response from the shop is insane. Im not sure who this guy is, but my review is legit. Im not anyone who is looking to hurt the business.. Im giving constructive feedback. The place has a grimy vibe and smells bad. This is truth. Im genuinely not who you think I am.

This place was very comforting when i walked in. the people were very kind and super helpful. but the piercing was an interesting experience . i got a simple nose piercing, and i’ve seen it be done billions of time and it’s quick, easy, and doesn’t bleed that much. mine was not like this at all. first of all, i would like to say, my nostril is very thick. i have very thick nostrils and i should have said that beforehand, that might’ve played a little role in the piercing itself, im not sure. the woman who did my nose, did in fact pierce is very nicely, and very fast. it barely hurt when she did it the FIRST time she pierced it. what she didn’t do, was put the nose jewelry into the end of the needle and pull it into my nose. because of that, it was very difficult to get the ring into my nose. because she couldn’t get it into my nose, she pierced my nose a second time, and still wasn’t able to get the jewelry into the needle and pulled into my nose. at this point, i’m in a lot of pain, and i’m bleeding so much. she then told me to lay down in the chair so she could get the jewelry into my nose. she squeezed super hard on my nose getting the ring in causing so much pain and bleeding that was completely unnecessary. at the end once the ring was in my nose, she told me i have an extra flap of skin inside of my nose that made it significantly harder to put the jewelry in. after getting home, i cleaning up the piercing and looked in my nose to find nothing. there is not an extra flap of skin. the problem was that the ring wasn’t placed into the needle and pulled into my nose. it was the most painful thing i’ve ever had pierced, and it shouldn’t have been. i will say, the piercing looks really great, and it feels perfectly fine. the piercing process was the problem. this place is still really great, i had four other friends get something done here and they turned out amazing and how they should’ve. mine just wasn’t like that at all. i would still recommend this place to others, im not sure why mine turned out this way though. i still love the piercing and would come back again.

I got my lip pierced here and it was an amazing experience. The piercer is extremely friendly and easy to talk to, everything is super professional. Everything was nice and clean the piercing process was really quick and seem less, I barely felt any pain. Not to mention the general vibe of the shop is just so nice and welcoming, will definitely be coming back for my next piercing!!!

Very professional. Update : 6 years later. My first tattoo was done here. Sophie is an AMAZING artist. She brought to life two of my visions for my 2 tattoos. I also got one from the Officer Shisler event. Both Eric and Sophia are amazing!. The shop is clean, welcoming and super cool with their artifact collections. I am a customer for life. They have been featured on You Tube etc..I trust them 100%. I love the studio and if you go there and get tattoos or piercings you will loved them too. Rock on!! and they always have great music! 5 stars!!

This place is awesome! I called on a Saturday afternoon and wanted to get a philtrum piercing that I had pierced eight years prior and had never taken out or switched the jewelry of, and I’m getting married in a year and wanted to know what my face looks like without a piercing in the middle of it! Not only did they get me in right away but they were so informative and kind and they helped me put in a clear piece of jewelry so that I had some time to decide whether or not I wanted to close my hole or not. Their shop is super cool and the vibes are dope. I’m really grateful that they gave me options to keep my piercing and even suggested jewelry that might look better for my wedding day. I get there & the place is decorated SO cute, super clean, staff was so welcoming and also very nice about me being indecisive, which I know can be a pain. I finally decided on my nostril, they had lots of jewelry options, Sophie explained everything to me, process was quick & easy, and as painless as a piercing could be (This was my 2nd time getting my nose pierced). Its been almost a week & after the first day Ive had no pain, soreness, or redness. She is great at what she does & has years of experience. Cant wait to go back

I scheduled an appointment for a nose and tragus piercing, which The Convent team was able to arrange the same day.The entire staff was super friendly and made you feel like a friend not just a customer. The shop was a showpiece in itself. Super clean and sanitary atmosphere. Sophie made sure she explained each step she would take, the cleaning procedures, helped to pick out the best jewelry for me, and even gave sleeping suggestions. I worked with Kody getting my first tattoo. Just something small during their spooky flash sale. My nerves were fairly bad since it was my first time getting ink. Kody was lovely to work with and really helped calm my nerves with his easy going nature.Not to mention the tattoo came out great and just the way I wanted it! Recently had my nipples pierced here. Obviously was quite nervous going into it as I was concerned about the pain level and whole process. Immediately was put at ease once I met the woman who was doing the piercing, believe her name was Sophia. As soon as I walked in I was greeted taken back right away and my anxiety was put to ease by how well everything was explained and how amazingly clean everything was! My piercer did a great job, super quick. I was a little late but the guys there were beyond nice about it. Very welcoming atmosphere, beautiful interior and it was very clean which is something very important to me. The piercing barely hurt! Done with all the right tools and I was sent home with the supplies I needed to keep it clean. Great experience, if I get another piercing I will come back here!

My daughter and I went for piercings (me nose, her ear). I have severe “white coat syndrome” and have put off having my nose done for years because of it. The piercer was soooo nice and made me feel very comfortable. It was over before I knew it and he did such a great job. I felt like I could have hung out there with him for a while after. The place is very welcoming and super clean. My daughter was so happy also. We will definitely be back! Hope we get the same guy!

I’ll start out by saying this is the coolest looking place I’ve ever seen even the bathroom is cool. Didn’t have a long wait at all, she talked me through everything was honest and used all fresh and clean tools. Price wasn’t crazy either (never go to a place that is overly cheap something isn’t right there lol.) definitely will be coming back in the future for any other piercing Sophie knows what she’s doing. :)

We called in to set up an appointment to get my nose pierced. I’m currently in a wheelchair and once we arrived Dale came out and helped push me up the ramp and into the shop. He even set everything up special just to accommodate my needs. I’ve never had a more impressive and welcoming experience. It turned out perfect and I’m so pleased! I most definitely will be back for more piercings and will be recommending to everyone.

Just got back from string my daughter’s septum pierced. Our regular piercer was not piercing anything below the mask due to COVID. She was soo looking forward to it as a Christmas gift. I am thrilled we found this place. It is everything you should expect. Very clean very professional very friendly very quick but not careless and very affordable and to top it off there was the sweetest boxer you ever could meet. I can’t say enough good about our 1st experience here. I do know we will be back w/our eldest and when our 2younger ones are ready. I usually don’t leave reviews but had to in this case. All CDC Covid guidelines are followed and any questions/concerns I had in regards to sanitation were answered thoroughly and professionally. I accompanied my wife for a piercing and our first impression was great, just based on the atmosphere, my wife and I just loved the way the place looked inside. I actually just had a lot of fun waiting and looking at everything, youll know what Im talking about when you go. Then Dale topped it off with an awesome personality, he was so kind to my wife because she was a little nervous, he talked her through everything...and she even got a lollipop (which come to think of it, why didnt I get one?). Dale does such a good job explaining everything to you with what goes on during the piercing and the aftercare. He has the patience of a Saint. He has pierced my daughters ears and my belly button. When I went to get my belly button it was being redone he suggested a hoop so it would heal faster. He didnt have to but thats the kind of guy Dale is he is always looking for what it best with his customers. I would drive across country just to have Dale do a piercing.

If I could give this shop a 100 star rating I would! Dale and Sophia are so sweet and professional and their shop is VERY clean. I came to zone 13 after getting my septum pierced at another shop two days prior. The piercer at the other shop did a horrible job and pierced my septum extremely crooked and in the wrong spot too. Dale was so nice and accommodating and was able to re pierce my septum the correct way. I seriously could not be happier with how it turned out! The difference between zone 13 and the other shop is like night and day, Dale truly cares and takes pride in his work. I 100% recommend going here and will be letting all of my friends know about how awesome this place is. They also have the two cutest boxers in the world.

The memorial tattoo I had for my mom was damaged during a high speed bicycle accident (road rash anyone). After reading Sophies reviews and viewing her work, I asked her to repair and refresh the previous work. Sophie re-tattooed the original giving it much more clarity and definition. Whats more, her deft style and smooth application caused little if any trauma to my skin at all, after two solid hours of tattooing. I almost didnt know Id been tattooed the next day!! Overall Im extremely pleased, this tattoo is so meaningful to me and has never looked better. I immediately booked an appointment for a fun piece and cant wait to see the results. Ive never been here before but a couple of my friends got great-looking tattoos at Zone 13. So I went there and Chris was introduced to me as my artist. I told her what I wanted and I put an up-front deposit down on a tattoo, which is their policy. After a couple attempts, I didnt like what she drew for me. I dont want to be insulting (though I could be), so lets just say that she couldnt seem to bring my vision to life. So I decided to have that tattoo done by another artist at another shop (who WOWd me with his initial sketch, and did NOT require a deposit).However, I wanted to give them a second chance and have a different tattoo done here since Ive seen their work, I know they do good work, and since they had my deposit already. Unfortunately they kept my deposit and said I could not use it towards a different tattoo - I could only use the deposit towards what they had already drawn up for me (even though I was unhappy with it) due to the research and pile of sketches (I think it was 4 sheets of paper that were 1/4 filled). BUT, when I initially gave my deposit, I was told that it could be used towards ANY tattoo. Now thats not the case. Very unprofessional and not customer-friendly, at all. I wont be going back.

Went there to get my Tragus piercing changed after I couldnt get it back in myself. The hole was closed on the back and they went and repierced it for me and were super gentle. They were super friendly too which is unusual for most of the people in this field.

Let me start by saying I have never felt the need to do a review before. I am 32 and recently got my first tattoo at Tako-Tsubo and I could not have had a better experience. The shop is very clean and very comfortable. Sophie was friendly, thorough and proffesional in a relaxing way. Not only do you feel Sohpie is an experienced artist you get a feeling of the pride she takes in her art. Iknew what I wanted and had small guidlines. Other than that I gave Sophie carte blanche with the fill and shading; after all you go to an artist for personal art not just a mechanical stamp on your skin. I could not be happier with the finished work of art I received. Furthermore, I will recommend Tako-Tsubo and Sophia Wescott to anyone looking for a great experience
