Marco gave me the most beautiful tattoo I could have asked for. I am constantly getting compliments on my piece. Healed beautifully. He made me feel so comfortable and took his time to make sure I was happy with the placement, style, and details. Pricing was amazing and he is so talented. **Important Notice**I regretfully had a cover-up tattoo done on my chest by Bighead at Bighead Tattoo Shop in Elgin IL, and the result was far from satisfactory. The artist applied excessive and unnecessary shading, resulting in a much darker tattoo than I anticipated. Instead of achieving the design I had envisioned, I was left with what looks like a large, indistinct blob of black ink.Upon expressing my disappointment, the artist acknowledged the issue and offered to correct the tattoo. I followed up as advised, returning a month later, only to find the situation had worsened. The additional work further degraded the tattoo’s appearance. Afterward, I requested a refund of the $800 I had paid and also asked that he cover the cost of tattoo removal. While he agreed to refund the $800, he refused to cover the removal expenses.During my consultation for tattoo removal, I was informed that the issue is known as a blowout, which occurs when an artist applies too much ink, causing the tattoo to appear overly dark and messy. The removal process will cost me $4,399, or $2,699 to remove just the shading.Despite his agreement to refund me, the artist has yet to send the payment, and he is now unresponsive to my calls and messages. As a result, I am pursuing legal action to recover both the removal costs and the original fee for the tattoo.What was supposed to be a beautiful, personal work of art has turned into a distressing ordeal. It’s disappointing that a professional would not take pride in their work or ensure their clients leave satisfied, as poor quality reflects poorly on the artist. His disregard for responsibility and lack of integrity will likely catch up with him in the future.I share this experience to caution anyone considering this artist for their tattoos. If a mistake is made, he will not hold himself accountable, and there is a risk of him delivering something vastly different from what you requested. For your own peace of mind, I recommend seeking out a professional who genuinely cares about their clients and takes pride in delivering quality work.

Really nice shop! Exterior and interior is clean! Parking is a little hard due to 30 minute limits on the street. My artist Frank did a great job on my small tribute tattoo. My Husband will be getting a larger piece done by him in 2022. Frank was extremely professional, knowledgeable, friendly, and takes pride in his work. I highly recommend. Be aware that Cash and Zelle are the only payment options.

Hands down the greatest artist that has ever done ink on me. Bighead completed a whole half sleeve, Japanese style dragon in realistic form with cherry blossoms and a Japanese orchid, absolutely excellent pricing for the quality and he takes his time to perfect the piece. Put in over time just to complete the session, and made sure I was comfortable and able to keep going throughout the day. 11/10 experience, 6 stars if I could. The photos do not do justice on this absolute master piece!! Thank you BigHead Tattoo, I will ONLY be coming back here for the rest of my tattoos for life.

I just got my first tattoo here yesterday. I was nervous and unsure of an exact design. As soon as I walked in the door I met my artist, Frank. I immediately felt like I was in the right place. I could tell that he was confident and professional in his work. He took his time to finalize my design and made the whole process fun and easy. I would never think of going anywhere else for another tat. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!! Thanks to Frank and Big Head I will see you guys again very soon!

I called Cynthia and Marco for a tattoo and they got me in the same day. This tattoo meant a lot to me and Marco absolutely perfected it! His work is incredible! I could not have had a better experience. Clean and comfortable shop ran by professional, down to earth, kind people! Id be back for piercings, but I wouldnt go for tattoos.This is a husband and wife owned shop. The wife pierces, and she is great. I went in for piercings, and she made the experience as comfortable as she could. Everything was sterile, the piercing area was bright, and there was complete privacy during the piercing. Both piercings have healed very nicely thus far. She also advised that I let pierciers/tattoo artists know I have a passing out problem (I always lie). She assured me that saying I do pass out only helps them to be prepared. I received more work after the piercings, and her suggestion was correct.The one thing I did not like about the shop was the husband, the tattoo artist. My husband was going to ask approximately how much a tattoo would be off size. The artists gave him a price without looking. I understand why he wasnt looking; he was tattooing. That didnt mean an attitude was necessary.

I got a touch up with Frank! He is professional, talented, friendly, patient. I trust him so much as my tattoo artist.

Husband was so sweet on the phone when i called to make an appointment. wife was so sweet and did so well talking me through the piercing so i wasn’t so stressed, told me how to clean it.

To all the reviews with 3 or less stars- don’t listen to them.I just had my first tattoo done by Frank- let me tell ya, at first I was extremely nervous but as soon as I walked into the shop I felt very comfortable and calm.The atmosphere was very chill and the tattoo felt like it took 20 min when it really took 2 hours!Frank is extremely nice and won’t make you feel uncomfortable at all, he treated my boyfriend and I like we knew him for years. 10/10 customer service and my tattoo looks FRICKEN AMAZING!!!!!!The shading and the details are phenomenal!!(I don’t know how to post a pic on here)GO TO BIG HEAD TATTOOS.You won’t regret it.

Very unprofessional. The lack of sympathy or even concern about your clients is disgusting. The woman who does piercings was awesome but the guy (I’m not sure if he’s the owner) was so rude. Got two piercings there and i called a week later for a concern. All he told me was to take them out. Not to come in and see what they could do just simply “i don’t know what to tell you”. Went to another place around the area and they fixed the problem for me. Would NEVER go back there. (Now reading the reviews on piercings i SHOULD HAVE DONE THAT BEFORE GOING)

I saw Frank at Bighead Tattoo last December and could not have had a better experience! I had sent him a few ideas of what I wanted before the appointment and he created a custom design for me. This man is talented you guys, I fell in love with the design right away! This was my first tattoo so he was great at explaining everything which helped calm my nerves. I will definitely be back again! Thanks Frank! :)

I got a tattoo from Marco before his shop. 6-7 years later Im still in love with the piece. Color has not faded and the quality of workmanship is unreal. Highly recommend. Will be going to him for all future tattoos.

Marco always does an amazing job on my tattoos and ever since I started going there I’ve gone to him since. I trust his judgment and I know he loves what he does. Also his wife does piercings there and does an amazing job. I defiantly give this business all stars and I recommend checking them out for tattoos/piercings!

If I could give zero stars, I would. My friend got one of his tattoos done here, and I couldn’t be more appalled at the quality of work and customer service this place has to offer. First off, the guy doing the tattoo quoted the wrong price, and was calling my friend expletives when he winced in pain. He also rushed the job, and as a result, the tattoo ended up bleeding outside of the tattoo lines. It looks awful to say the least. If you want a poorly executed tattoo and horrible customer service, I would recommend this place. If you want quality ink and good service, avoid this place at all costs.

I made an appointment for 2 very simple black tattoos. Not only did I have to wait almost an hour after my scheduled time with the main artist, the work was sloppy. Several lines arent straight and you can even see where he slipped outside the line while shading the second piece. He handled money with the gloves he was tattooing with and didnt change them at any point. To top it all off he called black people coloreds as we were leaving and proceeded to use the n word. Would not recommend to anyone.

When I went to executive ink tattoo they fd up so bad so I came to big heads for a touch up and he made it look 100 times better. I went back to him to do a huge leg piece and he does an amazing job and is a super cool dude! I see a lot of comments of people saying hes rude but maybe yall are too sensitive ?? Hes just intimidating but hes freaking awesome. Will go back for more tattoos !

Waited two hours for an appointment. It’s my fault for even waiting that long should’ve left sooner. I didn’t end up getting the tattoo. I have come here before and never had a problem. Maybe just backed up that day but will probably never go back.

Bleh, what rude people. Called ahead to see if they take walkins, they told me to come on in, that they are open until 9. I came at half past, and the tattoo artist said the piercing artist left- “got tired of waiting around for people”. I literally called at 7:30, and they said to come in before 9. Rude, nasty people when we went in the shop. Unprofessional and they talk down to you. Wouldn’t waste a dime here.

I went in this tattoo shop with my girl friend and the owner of the shop greeted us with a major attitude, All we wanted was a quote on a tattoo. As soon as we walked in, he treated us like garbage and called my girl friend fat as if he was a skinny dude to begin with. I would not recommend this shop to anyone horrible experience.

I made an appointment via Facebook Messenger on September 17th for October 10th at 2 or 4 pm. When I walked in he acted surprised as to why I was there. Didn’t recall making an appointment via messenger, asked if I made a deposit. I reminded him the night before that I would be there the next day and he said “he forgot to get back to me.” Meanwhile I came out of my way for an appointment that was never set ! By the owner!! Who was extremely rude, negligent and unprofessional. Do not waste your time or money here!

If I could give this place ZERO stars I would. This place does NOT know how to give proper piercings. 3 of my friends came to this shop for simple piercings (2 came for a cartilage and 1 went for a nose piercing) they were placed nicely and they knew how to get the customer ready but every single one of their piercings got infected. Its not a coincidence when it happens to 3 of my friends. My friend who got a nose piercing developed a keloid and cleaned it religiously. It is now 5 months later (the recommended wait time to change anostril piercing is 4 months) and had attempted to change the nose stud to a hoop (which was purchased at this piece of shxt shop) and it DIDNT FIT. How the h*ll are you going to pierce someone and give them a different size hoop? Also, when nostrils are pierced, they are pierced on an angle and this one was pierced on a crooked angle I noticed while trying to help my friend who was screaming and crying from the PAIN of trying to put a fxcking hoop in. My two other friends got their cartilage pierced and it got infected when they cleaned their new piercings religiously too. when my friend went to a different shop to get a different piercing, dude asked him whered you get this piercing done (in a disgusted tone) he simply stated big head tattoo shop in elgin and dude said that explains it they use cheap jewelry which caused so many problems bc his body was trying to reject it. This place is very nasty and I feel AWFUL for my friends having to be put through this pain. Im SO thankful I never got anything done at this shop. Absolutely HORRIBLE.

I have two of my most beautiful pieces done by Big Head. One before he even opened his shop I got a watch with a rose on the left side of my chest. The next year after I got my half a sleeve of a wolf with a moon and stary sky that he drew by hand directly on my skin. Every time I show off my tattoo I get many people come up to me and compliment me on how beautiful it is.

I would not recommend this shop for piercings. The way my nose was pierced was entirely wrong. My piercing site ended up with a keloid(big bump) with months of constantly trying to shrink it I finally was able too. I can not put a hoop in due to the way it was pierced and I can barley get the stud in and out. When I do attempt to take the stud out it just bleeds and will not go back in correctly. This has happened to 2 of my other friends as well, they got keloids and an infection in their cartilage piercings even after vigorously cleaning the piercing site. My friend went to a shop that speacializes in only piercings and was told that they had pierced his cartilage incorrectly and that’s why he is getting reoccurring infections. The products there are cheap and the professionalism is low.

I have manyyy tattoos & have had work done by various artist. this by far was the WORST place Ive been to. very unprofessional & no customer service what so ever Ive had a couple friends say the same thing about this place didnt surprise me when they told me there experience here. horrible place..& also there work wasnt even dont properly i had a spot on my tattoo that faced really quickly. great pricing though 👍🏼... but now i know why lol

Got my first tattoo done here, amazing job! It was done so fast and super clean. The finish was amazing. Super friendly as well. Overral would recommend this shop to everyone.

Just got a sick tattoo at Bigheads and is the best tattoo yet. Definitely recommend it. Coming back for my next tattoo for sure. Not only good tattoo but great costumer service. If ur trying to get a tattoo DO NOT HESITATE TO COME HERE!!!

I love my new tattoo and i will be keeping BigHead as my tattoo artist from now on...I been to some other shops before but the customer service here is great I like how they work with you on your ideas without being pushy.I felt comfortable in the shop and dont have a bad thing to say about it.

Take some constructive criticism. Tattooing while eating and drinking aint sanitary talk professionally. This isnt a good place to get your first peace done as he’ll push you to get whatever piece done just to get some money

Went in there to get tattoos with my fiancé and they were friendly and did really good work.

Big head. I recommend him because most of the in and i would say 90% of the ink is done by him, make sure you only get him but his people are trusted if he trust them.
