I have been seeing Shelby for over 10 years now and have gotten over a dozen pieces done by her. There is no other artist I would want to go to; she’s great at what she does, from communication to execution. I have sent family, friends, and coworkers to her and will continue to support a fantastic artist.The shop itself is also DEFINITELY worth going into. The vibe is spooky and chill, and everyone that works there seems to be both nice and great at their jobs. Keep up the great work, Rue! I hope to see you all again very soon!

Super clean atmosphere, full of the most trustworthy & talented tattoo artist! I have only ever seen Shelby for all of my work and have never been disappointed. She goes out of her way to make you feel comfortable, excited, and at ease during the entire time you are in her chair! Highly recommend not only Shelby but everyone at The Rue Morgue

Went and had a consultation with Shelby. She took the time to ask questions and made sure she knew exactly what I wanted! This was even after talking prior to my appointment about ideas. She’s invested and extremely talented at her work!

I’m a frequent flyer here, but Shelby is my girl! She’s done about 95% of my sleeve, and she will be doing my other sleeve, as well. I’ve had a few people visit her due to my recommendations, and a couple of people talk about how I am a walking billboard for her. 🤣 Her artistic skill is wonderful, I don’t ever hesitate to tell her an idea of what I want and let her have artistic freedom with the design. She is a wonderful color AND black and grey artist.Everyone is always extremely nice, and the shop is always very clean. The atmosphere is so comfortable, as well. ☺️

Such a unique atmosphere. the aesthetic is dark yet welcoming. everyone makes you feel right at home. this place is a wonderful edition to downtown franklin. all of the artists are talented with their trade and all have their own incredible artistic abilities. with decor i see something new every time i go in. this place is one of my new favorite places to go. they have little events with flash sales and vendors and thats a wonderful time to get aquatinted, get some fresh ink, and enjoy vendors art. their vendors have included but not limited to the tattoo artists selling their own artwork , taxidermy, and cute crochet stuffies. please check this place out!! 💀🕶️⚰️

I, myself, was untouched canvas, waiting for a Bob Ross portrait to be injected into my skin, and The Rue Morgue Tattoo Gallery tainted my skin with the absolute best ink I have ever received. The service, vibes, and cleanliness far exceeded my expectations. Every Sunday when I go to church, I get all the stares, every single stare from every single elderly person in the congregation. The look of disappointment and envy prove to me that it is THEE best tattoo in the history of tattoos.

This is the worst tattoo parlor in Indiana. Every friend I know who got a tattoo from Shelby regretted it because she doesn’t care about your time, money, or the fact that something permanent is going on your body. Do not recommend at all I would rather my 5 year old nephew tattoo on my body.

My best friend put down a deposit and tried to get a confirmation with the artist and got no response. Super unprofessional!!! As an avid tattoo canvas, this doesnt boad well for me recommending anyone to your shop for future work.

HIGHLY recommend Rue Morgue. I had a piece done by Miles Haysmith and I cannot praise him enough. Takes his work seriously, well versed, very knowledgeable! Gets back to you quick with questions or concerns. I will be coming back to him again this spring. The other artists are very laid back, interested in all artists work, gives out constructive criticism for you to have the best tattoo ever. 10/10, definitely recommend!

I had the pleasure of getting tattooed by Jaime tonight. She was amazing. Spent 4 hours laughing and chatting I almost forgot I was getting a tattoo. Her work is beautiful and hid my cover up so well. I will never go anywhere else. I cant wait to work with her again.

My experience here was amazing. I got a piece done by miles haysmith and that man knows how to make a tattoo be as least painful as possible. It’s like getting touched by an angel. Anyways, I highly recommend him. he is such a chill guy and is more then happy (and super fast) to respond when you have questions/concerns with your tattoo healing.

I waited years to get my first tattoo so that I could find just the right artist to create the design I wanted, and I got exactly what I’d been looking for at the Rue Morgue with Shelby!Compared to other work in her portfolio, my simple script tattoo is small and pretty basic. But it’s still extremely important to me and Shelby definitely got that. During the consultation, she listened to everything I explained and asked my preferences on things I had never even considered. I also appreciated that she gave me a realistic idea of what to expect in terms of the pain getting my first tattoo on top of my foot. When I came back for the actual tattoo, the design was perfect except for one small tweak, which she graciously made. The tattoo itself only took about 15 minutes to ink, and the finished work looks flawless! I’ve gotten so many compliments and I couldn’t be happier.

We love the Rue Morgue Tattoo Gallery. All of the artists do beautiful work, and they are all so fun to be around. They are definitely in tune with each other and their customers. The shop itself is very interesting as well. Highly recommended.

This is a awesome shop, they make you feel very welcome. My husband and I being newbies to the tattoo experience we never once felt out of place or uncomfortable. These professional are top notch, and extremely pleasant to be around!!

I’ve been coming here for a couple of years now, didn’t take long to realize this is the only place I want to come get a tattoo from. Not just because of the quality in the work that they do but the experience. The crew at the rue morgue makes you feel like family. If I lived closer I would spend all my time here. The one and only Adam Stoner has done all of my work and he blows me away every time with his quality and precision. He gives 110% with everything he does. I will continue coming here for years to come

First off, they have a great atmosphere. All of the artists are super friendly. Corey has done all of my work and was amazing each time. They take great care to make sure you are getting exactly what you want and the quality of work they are providing is amazing! Highly recommend to anyone looking for an artist!

These guys are awesome. The shop is super clean. The artists are very friendly and helpful. I gave Curtis my idea of what I wanted and he ran with it. He hit all the things I wanted and produced a great piece of work. Throughout the whole process I felt like I was his top priority. I will definitely go back and have more work done.

I hear really good things about this place from the people who are able to get in. However, Ive had an extremely unprofessional experience. I wanted two tattoos, one very realistic, and the other, not so much. I was recommended to contact two different artists who could do the realism, and chatted in the shop with a fellow who said he could do the other one. I attempted to email both individuals suggested for realism. To this day I havent heard back from either...Ive been waiting a month. I get it if youre popular. I get it if youre so busy your books arent open right now. However, I think it would be much more professional to shoot a single sentence in reply to let someone know that.Speaking of professionalism, I did manage to schedule a time for the 2nd tat with the artist I had consulted with in the shop. He only had weekdays available for any time within the next couple weeks from when I spoke with him. A couple of days before the appointment, he emailed me to cancel it saying he was double booked.Ok, I give. Ive gone somewhere else for the nature tattoo. It was quick, professional, and awesome work. Again, Im not trying to hammer anyone and I know yall are artists yet youre also in a business. A simple and quick return communication can go a long way.

My daughter and I went to see Mia Speers. She did our bee tattoos. They turned out perfect. I will be back for more. Mia is awesome!!!

My son made an appointment for September to get his first tattoo. He made the appointment back in March or April and paid for it then as well. He got a message from the tattoo artist today saying he needed to reschedule because that was a busy day for him. I guess since my son is not a returning client he got his appointment canceled to make room for someone elses. I told him he needs to get a full refund and well find someplace else.

Only have had piercings done here so far, but Samantha is the bomb! Shes a total sweetheart babe and really knows what shes doing. Ive found my piercer for life for sure and its not even been 24hrs since I got my piercing! The overall vibe of the shop is super wicked and fantastic!! Dark morgue goth with its touch of taxidermy ;) loved it and Im sure you will too!

Everyone was great except once person and im not sure if he was working there or a customer. Maybe he was having a bad day but he made me feel bad about being there. However everyone else was cool and did a great job

Very cool shop and cool people. Artists are really good and decent to thier customers. Very clean and professional. Only issue was the artist I had took his time getting ready and in between me and my wifes ink. Our tattoos took around 30mins combined to tattoo but was at the shop almost 3hrs. Would recommend for a really nice job on any tattoo. Probably the best shop in Franklin and surrounding area, but be prepared to wait and make sure to make an appointment in advance.

Go see my girl Megan if youre looking for Ink or microblading! I have watched her grow as a person and an artist and she deserves every bit of praise and respect in this industry. The building decor was also amazing.

Inside the place is cool. Neat decor and the guys in the shop seemed cool. However, I walked in looking for a consult for a small/medium tattoo and felt like I was not important. The woman in the shop was rude. I asked when Sarah had any openings and they wouldn’t even tell me without giving them $100 first. Walked out.

Pretty great joint got my nose pierced here. Sam was very nice and comforting. And when my nose piercing fell out Sam help me fix it and was very nice about it. Its cash only but if thats not a problem def check it out nice and clean professional setting

Got my first tattoo here from Corey Clark. He did a fantastic job of making mine unique and taking the idea I had found and adding his personal touch. Even when holidays and schedule issues came up, Corey really pulled through quickly for a great tattoo.

Always a pleasure walking in this shop and seeing everyone always smiling an happy. The staff is always friendly they make you feel right at home. Started going to the rue morgue when we moved to shelbyville and we followed them when they moved shop. Love this shop!
