Opalus Tattoo

Ive been tattooed a bunch of times by Taylor Seawell and its always a great experience all around. Shes super sweet and hilarious, and an extremely talented artist! I also recently got matching tattoos with my sister done by the shops apprentice, Derrick and it was also a really good time and we got super cute cryptid tattoos. (I got mothman and my sister got bigfoot) Ill definitely be back in the shop as soon as I have the funds again!

All 4 of the tattoos I’ve attached pics of were flash designs by Mikaela! Highly recommend her if you’re interested in working with an artist who isn’t just devoted to the quality of her work, but also your overall experience in her chair. She truly values her clients comfort, but just know she’s gonna have you laughing. As you can see in the pics, girly knows what she’s doing with her ink too. She can execute just about any style or subject matter and have fun with it. However, she mostly enjoys creating pieces that relate to nature ESPECIALLY if there’s a bug involved lol. After visiting Opalus 5 times in the past 2 years, I can confidently say that I’d work with any of the artists there. They’re all hardworking and kind, but Mikaela will never lose me as a client💜

I had a tattoo in mind for well over 5 years. I wanted something very simple and clean. I reached out to Mikaela and she made my idea a perfect reality. Her work is fantastic and speaks for itself. She’s fun to be around, and she listens to EXACTLY what you want. She is such a talented tattoo artist. Everything was clean and inviting. I scheduled another appointment before I left my first one. I couldn’t be happier with my tattoo it was exactly what I wanted and more. Mikaela is the best around!!

I have several tattoos by others. However, this was by far my best tattooing experience ever! Jess is an incredible artist. In addition to that she is extremely attentive. Her light touch is unmatched. The finished product brought tears to my eyes. Thank you so much, I will DEFINITELY be back!!!

I’ve gotten several tattoos here by Jess and she is nothing short of AMAZING! She is so professional and sweet and she goes above and beyond to communicate with you and make sure that you get exactly what you want in a beautiful and unique tattoo design. She is so talented and really takes her time with you and makes you feel comfortable. I cannot recommend Opalus enough to anyone who is looking for a place full of truly talented and kind artists who will exceed your expectations in tattoos!

So where do I start, got a tattoo from Jessica, I was excited because her reviews were great. Sadly this wasn’t the outcome I thought it would be. I got a checkered circle gravity pulling with eyes tattoo. The tattoo came out ok, till it healed. The color and black is almost like I got it at least a year ago. If faded for some reason. Got another tattoo from another shop in the exact same area. It turned out wonderfully. It’s black and likes very fresh. I will add a picture to give perspective. Although I liked Jessica, I don’t think she at the top of her skill leave, to charge her rate of $150 an hour. I would love to get it touched up but for a 7 hour tattoo, I don’t think she going to be will to do it for free. It would be a redo or a touch up.

Mikaela is THE BEST!! she is incredibly talented and super thoughtful with your artwork. she really puts her heart into everything she does. i’ve been getting tattoos since i was 18 and ive always been an artist hopper, never really had one that was just outstanding but it is very safe to say that she will forever be my go to for any future tattoos. alsoooo, she’s a FABULOUS human, truly a blessing all around. 10/10 recommend

I got a beautiful piece of art tattooed by Mikaela and drawn by her as well!! The shop is so clean, welcoming, and beautiful. Mikaela made the experience fun and educated me throughout our session. I 100% recommend this shop and these talented artists to everyone!

Jessica done a great job with a crown I had got but wasn’t completely happy with it. She made a few improvements and I couldn’t be more happy now with what she done. Jess was cool and her shop is absolutely beautiful. Thank you Jessica. I will be working with you again.

I can’t say enough positive things about Tommy’s work. I am constantly looking in awe at my arm and so happy with out this turned out. Tommy captured exactly what I was trying to accomplish with this piece and I’m constantly getting compliments on how detailed it is.

I love Opalus tattoo! Mikaela is my artist and she is EXTREMELY talented! She’s kind, patient and super easy to talk to or bounce ideas off of! Do yourself a favor and book her for your next tattoo. Not some artist who wont care about their work or how it looks on you. I doubt I’ll ever visit another shop!

I got my third tattoo at opalus and OMG the customer service, the patience, the professionalism, and the art they all have is incredible! I got my butterfly done by Mikaela and she did AMAZING! I have also heard great things from all the other artists as well! Highly recommend if looking for a positive spirited team a safe environment!

Lets start with this new tattoo family being 1.5 hours from my home. And I was not disappointed from the time I walked in I received a warm welcome and my artist Mikaela hugged me and made me feel comfortable right away. She is an amazing soul very professional and caring towards you being as comfortable as possible while in her care.I cant wait to go back! She has a long time customer in me.

Opalus was out of the way location wise for us but entirely worth the visit. Britt was very friendly, gentle, experienced, and fun. The whole staff was very friendly, comforting, and not to mention pretty/handsome. My tattoo came out exactly how I wanted and the energy that went into helping make it into a reality made the experience so much.

Mikaela is so wonderful! My first tattoo was last Saturday and she made me feel so comfortable! By the time she started I wasn’t even nervous anymore! Mikaela is the BEST!!! She did matching tattoos for a friend and I, and did an amazing job bringing our concept together with what little information we gave her. Had such a great experience here. The women were so welcoming and created such a relaxing and inviting space for everyone, to recieve a tattoo they love. My appointment was mixed up, but they solved the issue and were able to tattoo my grandfathers words onto my skin. This tattoo means the world to me, and I was so happy to have it done here. The tattoo artists were very nice, Kaitlyn did my tattoo and she did an amazing job just how i envisioned. Looking forward to getting more tattoos by the awesome tattoo artists here.

I got tattooed by the amazing Mikaela and each time, I forget Im even getting tattooed because she makes the atmosphere so relax and shes genuinely such a funny person to talk to! Makes the process fly by!! As long as shes tattooing, shell have me as a client. 🫶🏼

Waited over 7 hours to get a flash tattoo. Ended up walking out after waiting g ANOTHER HOUR just to get into the door from the porch. The staff really needed more control. People were cutting in the hours long line constantly and after we let the staff know they still did NOTHING about it. Really disappointed in this entire experience. This is a review about the place not the workers. The fact is I couldn’t even get into to see a single person back there because I waited OVER 7 HOURS.

I saw Tom for the first time, drove from Charlotte to come here. What motivated the trip was Tom’s portfolio and aesthetic. Such an amazing experience, and such a cool guy! Time flew as we laughed and talked like we were old friends. He was VERY careful with each line. The piece came out BEAUTIFULLY! I highly recommend this shop! It’s a super laid back space, everyone is extremely friendly with an amazing sense of humor. I never once worried about the cleanliness of this shop. Jess is the best. I’ve gotten hours of tattoos with her and she’s one of the nicest people I’ve ever met. She’s very patient - I once saw her discuss shades of blue for an hour with a client who was having trouble committing and she never tried to rush her or acted like it was even an issue.I recommend her to everyone, but especially to folks who are nervous about getting their first tattoo. Jess goes out of her way to make her clients feel comfortable, and she listens to concerns and makes sure you’re 100% on board with the design before she starts inking.All of my tattoos look great and healed quick without any problems.

Jess is amazing and I’ve been fortunate enough to have had several hours of work done by her from when she first started on Elm Street to Seven Sagas. A few things that have remained the same in all the years I’ve had her as a tattoo artist is that she’s a true professional who’s thorough, creative and is clearly passionate about what she does! Jess is an AMAZING artist and person! I’ve had several hours of work done by her and she’s always clean, kind, and professional. I could not be more pleased with the work Jess did. Her detail work is on point. Bed side manner was great. She always checked in to ask how Im doing and friendly to chat with. The place is house that has been converted to make a shop. Its very different and inviting atmosphere. Very sanitary, so much so that I felt safe in spite of the pandemic. I will definitely go back. I’ve had most of one arm tattooed by Jess and I would highly recommend her! She is very thorough with the tattoo process and is very creative when drawing out the ideas of my tattoos! I am actually getting another one done next week and can’t wait to see what she comes up with!

Opalus is a very clean and professional shop. You are welcomed in as soon as you enter the door. I get my tattoos done by Jess who is very creative and diverse in her skills. She is very helpful in designing the tattoo that you are looking for.

Jess is an awesome artist who has done the majority of my tattoos. I have a leg sleeve that gets attention everywhere I go, and my Captain Spaulding is hardcore badass. I highly recommend her!

Eli did my tattoo which was a cover-up of the name Bryan. Eli was very helpful in putting exactly what I wanted. He is very understanding to your needs of your design. I changed my mind after he stenciled it on my arm, I told him to leave it, but insisted that he gives me what I want. The atmosphere is very inviting and relaxed. Thanks so much, I will return.

Got my first tattoo here and it went great! Eliseo told me everything to expect and made it go very smoothly and kept me calm because i was freaking out 😂 i love mine and am going to get another one soon! 10/10!

I had my first professional tattoo (it was a cover up as well) done by Jess and am so happy with my tattoo and with the over all experience, Jess is really sweet and very talented!

Super last-minute cancelation for a consultation, they said we could do it over text instead. After an enthusiastic response to the design I was looking for, I didnt get a text back. Followed up with the shop thinking it was my phone, never heard from the artist again.

Tom has tattooed me a couple of times and I highly recommend him. Superb artist, extremely hygienic, very creative.

Mikaela did my first two tattoos! She made these such amazing experiences. Her sketches and artwork are amazing. She has such good patience, my first one we resized and re-stenciled it many times with no complaints. She made sure I was being looked after.
