I Love my tattoos that I have gotten done here I definitely recommend Sarah Davis she does amazing work and colors design e.t.c. This place is very professional I will be getting more tattoos done on my arm the tattoos were done just how I wanted them. Definitely give this place a try.

Last Saturday my two friends and I met with Sarah and got matching tattoos. Upon walking into the parlor, we were greeted by Sarah and the parlor being both artfully and personally (to each artist) decorated— and more importantly, yes, very clean.We immediately got to work with Sarah on sizes for the tattoos as well as placement. We were all impressed with the side table for the chairs and geeked over it, iykyk.Overall, everything went very smoothly, we were all chatting and joking that we hardly felt the gun.Will we come back? Absolutely.Will we recommend Sarah? 100%

This is a great shop in downtown Greensboro. The shop is very clean and has a great interior decor which compliments the historic buildings exterior. The artist that I utilize is Jason. He is an outstanding artist, very detail oriented and a real pro. I entrusted Jason to tattoo both forearms in tribute to my 20 year military career. Tried and True tattoos via appointment only. The shop also requires a small deposit (varies by artist) which is non-refundable and may be considered void if you flake on your scheduled appointment without a 48 hour notice prior to any appointment change.

Sarah was my artist and she was amazing! She did an excellent job on my Marshflitter faerie! Going back soon as I can to finish the color on it. She got every tiny detail perfect. I love my new tattoo!

Got my first tattoo here, and absolutely no complaints! Very friendly staff, and very professional. My artist was named Tictoc, and was extremely friendly, funny, and made the experience much more enjoyable. Definitely worth the money!

Jason did an awesome job on my tattoo. He was professional, clean, and this wasn’t a hang out spot like most tattoo shops. Only thing I can complain about is how long it takes to get scheduled for a consultation and tattoo. I do understand why! He’s just that good!

Sarah did my tattoo and I absolutely love it. I picked out 2 photos and she incorporated them together and it came out amazing! I plan on going back at some point for more. Also, knowing that she does free touch up within the first 6 months made me feel better about getting a tattoo as big as I got. Definitely recommend!

Tried and True is the only tattoo shop I go to and trust. I got my first tattoo here when I just turned 18; my artist at the time was super nice and kept me distracted from how nervous I was with the needle. Most of my work is primarily done by Sarah, who I continually ask for. She’s super gentle with her tattooing and starts conversation to keep you distracted (all artists here want you to be as comfortable as possible), and will help you adjust your placement to where you want it to be. I’ve never left here disappointed. If you want a quality tattoo, whether it’s simple line work or something detailed, you’ll find an artist here that’ll accommodate to what you want! :)

This was my first visit . Sarah was absolutely amazing! She worked me in with no hesitation after I explained that my son had passed away on 6/21/21and I wanted a tattoo of his last heart rate. Sarah is an absolute gem ! Everyone that has seen her work is amazed! So thankful yall were recommended! Ill certainly will send everyone to you!💙

This review is specifically for a single tattoo done by Sarah. I have never been to this shop personally because I dont really like the styles/shading, but I saw a lion tattoo that looked so great, I had to verbally comment on it. The lady who had it told me where she got it and I had to leave a review just in case she didnt. The detail on this tattoo was amazing. I would have taken a photo, but that would have been creepy. Sarah, seriously, this work was beautiful!

In June I booked a consultation for September. Seemed far out just for the consultation but was willing to wait. Got a call that the artist is changing the way he does things and my consultation wouldn’t be until March. Horrible service. The right thing to do would be to honor the consultations you have scheduled and change how you do things moving forward. The whole thing sounds sketchy. Very bad business. This would mean to get a tattoo done by this artist I would have to wait a year.

Amazing clean, professional place. I had Joseph do my first and second tattoo which both turned out great. If you’re looking for a great artist Joseph is the way to go!!

When you show up to your appointment, and your artist does not. I waited 2 weeks for schedules to align for a very underwhelming consultation for not just a tattoo, but a half chest piece into a sleeve. Joseph was the artist they recommended, and the initial meeting was very weak, however I realize that not all artists are great sales people, and honestly I was much more concerned about ability than personality. I paid my deposit to lock in my first of 5ish appointments, the earliest he could get me in was about 3 additional weeks out. I sent him all the photos of inspiration for the initial session along with detailed notes of how I wanted things arranged. So, here I am on my birthday weekend, bright eyed and bushy tailed ready to get this project started, and when I show up at the shop they tell me that he ended up going out of town. No text, no call, no email back to cancel the appointment. Tattoos arent cheap and are a life long investment on your body. If these people cant even show up to an appointment that they scheduled, then do you really want to give them the chance to mark your body for the rest of your life?

All of the staff at Tried and True are amazing! My artist Kayla did an amazing job with my tattoos (I have gotten 3 from her) and I would highly recommend her to anyone that asked! The three of the tattoos she did on me were all different styles but she did an equally excellent job on each. She was also extremely careful and clean when doing the tattoos. I watched her sanitize her whole station before we began. I will be recommending Tried and True and Kayla to anyone who wants a Tattoo.

Jason has done all of my tattoos except for 2. I am highly pleased with his quality of work and attention to detail. He keeps his shop exceptionally clean and sterile, ensuring proper safe practices before, during, and after tattooing. I have recommended several people to his shop; a couple of which I know received his talent and are satisfied with the product. Highly recommend Tried and True.

Me and my husband get all of our work done by Madison Loftis but all of the artists are great! Every artist is friendly and very talented and the owner Jason is very down to earth and really cares about his shop! Once you go here you wont go anywhere else!

I got a fantastic tattoo from here. Madison Loftis was my artist. The shop is clean and professional. It has unique architecture, as it is in an old bank building. Making an appointment was a breeze and the receptionist was friendly and helpful. The deposit was $50, which is reasonable and typically what most shops charge in the triad area. This experience was an excellent reminder that you get what you pay for. My tattoo turned out beautiful and she worked it into the rest of my sleeve flawlessly. I dont think anyone could have done a better job. There was another artist in the shop working on someone elses tattoo while I was there. Unfortunately I dont remember his name but the tattoo he produced turned out beautiful.

Ive been getting tattooed by Jason since I was 18. Hands down one of the best artists working right now. Hes tattooed my numerous times and Im blown away with the results each time. All my pieces look brand new even years later without any touch ups. You can come here in confidence that youll get top notch work.

I got my first tattoo by Jason about 10 years ago. It has aged very well and Ive never needed to take him up on the offer for free touch ups since then. His apprentice at the time misjudged the amount of time the piece would take (which impacted the cost of the piece) but he told me not to worry about the rest, he just wanted to finish it. I felt bad, but he was super understanding and preferred that I leave with a solid piece of work instead of having to come back to finish it. I think that says a lot about how he runs his business and how he cares for his clients and reputation.Since then, I have always recommended him to people. Hes a phenomenal artist and worth every penny.

Amazing place! Staff is very professional, very clean, and super helpful. I got a decent sized arm piece done, detail was more incredible than I expected. They’re very thorough with care instructions, and I followed those and mine healed wonderfully. I’ll be coming back here for all of my future tattoos!

Jason Spainhour is one killer artist! After 25 plus years in the business, his attention to ALL the details is right on point! If you want a tattoo, you better book a consult now...Jasons first appointments start in December but, it is so worth it.

I anticipated being able to give Tried and True 5 stars, and Im so disappointed that I cant. I can at least give a couple because they were clean, the artist that was there and the front cashier were extremely nice and accommodating given the fact that I was a walk-in. I came from out of town and brought the design from my artist. This is the second tattoo Ive gotten in the Greensboro/High Point area. The only artist there at the time had free time and my tattoo was going to be small, she took me on the spot. However, Almost a week later, my tattoo has peeled, and it doesnt look like it should, and Ive made sure to be extra careful over this past week, given the fact that its on my wrist. The bottom part of my semicolon isnt filled in, and you cant tell most of the details. Tattoos always look better after theyve healed so I was waiting on that, but looking at the pictures I took the day of and the day after - those look better than the final peeled product. When I have it, Ill definitely be spending the money to get it redone somewhere in the area where I live.

Lea M. Smith was my artist. She did the line work for two of my tattoos, and her lines were executed perfectly on both of my tattoos.Very talented and highly recommend

Went to Tried & True today. Got my 1st tat in 5 yrs. Travis was AHHHMAZING!!! I loved his energy and he was so delicate I almost fell asleep from being so relaxed while he was working on me. Im definitely comin back and future ideas we discussed will only be done by him!!

I got my first tattoo here and Sarah was so good!!! She was really prepared and calming. It turned out really well and didnt even scab over and hardly itched. It wasnt even that painful.

Patrick is awesome, definitely one of the most proficient piercers in the Triad. He is very knowledgeable and involved with the Association of Professional Piercers so he can always stay ahead of the game by providing insight into the latest techniques, jewelery offerings, and related body mod innovations. I couldnt have asked for a better experience. I plan on doing all of my future business with Tried and True! The staff is great, they make you feel welcome and go out of their way to assist you which is a lot more than I can say about their competitors. I havent been tattooed here yet(havent made up my mind on what to get done yet) but I plan to soon by Madison. One last thing regarding Patrick, the type of facial piercing I wanted everyone else I called around and visited in person about had either no experience doing it or came up with outlandish theories to try and dissuade me from getting it done but that didnt happen here, Patrick came across very confident and he ultimately really helped restore my faith in being able to get the type of rare piercing that Ive had my heart set on for the longest. Thank you sooooooooooo much Tried & True!!!! The proof is certainly in the pudding (i.e. shop name) you guys are the Triads hidden gem when it comes to piercing and tattoos!

My wife just recently had a tattoo done here and Im very impressed with the final result. Mallory, one of the great artists here, did a fantastic job.The folks who work here are extremely nice and are the type of people that obviously love what they do.

Worst place Ive EVER been. I have 7 other tattoos and none of them have ever gotten infected and the WHOLE tattoo turn into a thick scab. I used aquatat the first two days and it bubbled up and started pussing ink. I stopped putting stuff on it and it scabbed up. Now its cracking up. (Pics below) I went by today to ask for a refund and I was told what I do to it, they arent responsible. I will never go back or recommend this shop. Very upset.

My husband & I got tattoos for our anniversary and although they didn’t turn out as we hoped, the staff at Tried and True was professional, helpful, understanding and did everything they could to make it right! Thank you Tried and True!!

So first off the shop is very clean and sterille. The staff is nice and they greet you when you walk in the shop. On 9/3/16 i went to this shop to get a nose piercing. The piercer was nice and cool and the whole process was pretty quick. My only and major complaint would have to be that the piercer put a ring to small in my nose so now my nose ring is sinking down in my hole and i have to go to a different shop in my home town to get the ring switched out ASAP.....a small ring in a nose piercing could cause the piercing not to heal properly.....i feel like she should have known this being a piercer.....i started to notice that the ring was sinking on sunday morning 9/4/16.....i did alot of research and based upon my research it tells that a small ring should be put in when you first get your piercing bc of the swelling and if the ring is too small it can sink once the swelling kicks in. I honestly feel cheated out of my nose piercing experience.....I had been wanting to get my nose pierced for a while so me coming to greensboro on labor wknd with some friends and choosing this shop to get my nose piercing done at i thought would be a great experience.....now im back home (charlotte, nc) and have to take out the time out of my day to get the issue corrected....now thats more time and more money that i wouldnt have to spend if it was done correctly the first time. I dnt recommend this place for a piercing....enter at ur own risk!

One of Greensboros newest shops. Do not let that worry you though. This is not a fly by night operation. It is owned and operated by Jason Spainhour, one of Greensboros longest running tattoo artists. Jason has brought together one hell of a team that includes Maddie and DrewI cannot reconmend this shop enough, when you walk in you just get a feeling that original art is greated here. From the fact that they are located in an old bank building (with a ton of cool old details) to the art you can buy hanging on the walls.
