This is hands down the best experience I have had with any business and tattoo service. I travelled from Oregon to work with Matt on a Japanese style chest panel and sleeve. The experience has exceeded my expectations. Traveling this far and often was a big commitment physically and financially. The scheduling and communication was very streamlined. The hospitality and service was above and beyond. I even brought my wife and brother to get tattooed during a couple of my sessions by other artists in the shop and they were equally as impressed. The shop is very clean with a modern aesthetic that is warm and inviting. Matt is a master of his craft and a phenomenal artist. I always felt I was in good hands and am very pleased with my piece. I went to Fountainhead for a much needed cover-up, and I am blown away with Justins work! I knew I was going to get a high-quality tattoo when I walked in the door. Everyone I met was super nice. A very clean and relaxed environment where you can chill and shoot the breeze. I cant wait to go back! Just a kool place!!

Great tattoo studio. Best around!!! Even worth the drive from VA. You cannot go wrong with any of the artist. Also, a great place to pick up nice jewelry, clothes, sunglasses, and accessories. Staff is super friendly, knowledgeable, and go out of their way to get you what you want. A+++ business!!! I will continue to visit Fountainhead for all my future tattoos and shopping needs.

Just finished up a full sleeve with Matt, incredible experience. The shop is extremely clean and comfortable. Everyone there is friendly and very professional. Cant even describe the tattoo quality with words. Matt is hands down one of the best tattoo artists in the world and anyone looking for a tattoo in the area is lucky to have such a top tier tattoo shop like Fountainhead in the neighborhood.

The talent under this one roof is exceptional. I have been tattooed by multiple artists here and I couldn’t be happier. Not to mention there carefully curated collection of clothes and accessories with amazing brands. Good Art Hollywood, Double RL , Knickerbocker, Persol, Iron Heart and many more. Overall an awesome experience. Not your average tattoo shop.

Have gotten over 5 tattoos here over the last few years done by Justin. The work is amazing and the whole staff is so welcoming and fun to be around. I recommend this place to EVERYONE that asks me about my tattoos. You just can’t beat it!

Just had my 1st tattoo experience and I’m so happy I went with Fountainhead! It was such chill environment and everyone I came in contact with from the front desk to my tattoo artist was so comforting and helpful. They explained the entire process to me and was clear on price before it started. Matt was my tattoo artist and he was so calming and did an amazing job. I gave him a quick draft of my idea and explained what I wanted and he made it exactly as I imagined it. The tattoo area was incredibly clean with a clear process for sanitizing each area. It was pretty quick and almost pain free. Maybe a 2 on the pain scale 😂. Thanks so much for such a great experience! Hope to come by again!

Hands down the best tattoo shop in America. Have been going to Matt for over 15 years and he keeps getting better. Not only is he the most talented artist, but he is the true definition of a gentleman and honored to have his ink on my arm. Phil is such a gentleman as well, along with all the artiest and the friendliest staff. Can not recommend the shop and the clothes they sell enough. 10/10 for life!

Walked by this place dozens of times and never realized there is a parlor in the back. It was immaculate and the staff was great accommodating my end of day walk in. I wanted a tiny tattoo with a very particular font and super fine line. They explained their minimum fee policy upfront. Jordan was awesome. Treated my tiny job with the same care as any other. Exactly what I wanted. Super fine line work. This place may be a little more pricey but you get what you pay for!

Since Id never been here before, I checked out their online portfolios to see if there was an artist I would prefer. Truthfully all the work seemed equally excellent so I asked for a recommendation. I wanted to get a memorial tattoo of my cat and I was told Justin a huge animal lover so of course I wanted him to do that work. I also wanted my lotus-flower tattoo re-inked because it had faded & I wanted it to look more realistic.Recently, I got the lotus redone with him and it turned out amazing! Im happy with the better, brighter colors, the sharp outlining, and the updated appearance. Now Im really looking forward to getting my memorial tattoo completed next week because I know it will utterly amazing.Other aspects I like about this shop: Cleanliness, the comfortable waiting area, the friendliness of all the staff, the well-coordinated aspects of scheduling and setup, & the offer to get me a privacy screen if I wanted because the flower tattoo is centered in the middle of my chest. During my tattoo I was feeling woozy so Justin stopped whenever I needed to take a breath and even once went and got me a protein bar. The shop was busy, but chill and low key. Justin is easy to talk to, but is focused on his work moreso.The before photo shown here is after Justin already did the outline.

Fountainhead is a first class tattoo parlor. Everyone there is professional and courteous and the space is meticulously clean. My artist, Justin, did an incredible job with my tattoo. I came to him with an abstract idea (a design of DNA, stretched around my arm, ascending from my elbow to my shoulder, substituting the yin and yang lines of the I-Ching for the proteins). It was a 3-dimensional idea, drawn on 2-dimensional paper, that he needed to convert to the 3-dimensional contours of my arm. My wife had a hard time even drawing it on my arm, but Justin found a way to make it work, and he added shading to make the actual design look 3-dimensional too. He exceeded my expectations.

Home of the best artists and top notch salesmen—they can make anything you want, and my man Mikey can sell sand to a camel. You can’t beat this place if you’re in the hunt for some unique and fashionable tats and/or apparel!

I am so big on cleanliness, comfort, effort and overall customer service. Fountain Head Tattoo exceeds all my expectations. I have been going to the same artist (Hunter S.) now for about two to three years for my tattoos and he is AMAZING. Not only does he pay attention to detail and listens to what YOU want but he gives honest suggestions when need be. He makes you feel comfortable and we always have great conversations with each session. The place is extremely clean and has a very positive atmosphere. I travel to Long Island (I am 2 hours away) just to come here.

Shocked this was a tattoo parlor bc their men’s selection is SO good. Love the management there too- they made amazing suggestions and my husband walked out w the coolest jacket he owns. As a Brooklynite I am pleasantly surprised to find this in my parent’s hometown- making Huntington just a bit cooler 10/10

Ive been looking forward to this appointment and definitely worth the wait. Matt is a master in Japanese style and the best artist in New York. He has a team that is friendly, respectful, and create an atmosphere that makes this Long Island studio amazing.

Spectacular experience, for MANY reasons. I got my first tattoo from Philip, who was kind, accommodating and really chill. We looked at the basic drawing, and worked through a couple of edits quite quickly, eventually arriving to one I felt comfortable with. The environment was clean, relaxed, and very professional. Each and every employee was sweet and engaged (even though my tattoo really only took 10 minutes). I can say that this certainly took any nerves I had coming in, and leveled them. Following the work, I was provided with a printed list of after care procedures, and in following them, my tattoo is healing perfectly without infection, or any problems. Thank you to Fountainhead and Philip for making one of my LONG time dreams come true, in a way that was really meaningful.

I’m so happy with the work I got done at Fountainhead! My fiancé and I both got tattoos done here. They connected us each with which artists specialized in which styles we were looking for. My fiancé got a realistic wand from Harry potter. She loves it and a year later it looks amazing. I got my tattoos done by Justin, and he is an awesome artist. I got two diff sessions with him one a year ago I got two swords from adventure time and then a few weeks ago I went back and got Finn the human! I absolutely love how they came out. The detail he put into the enchiridion book that Finn is holding in the tattoo is so awesome! I’ve gotten so many compliments on it already! He works so amazingly fast (never rushing it but he really put the work in to get it done quickly and perfectly), we were both blown away with them. Safe to say We found our new shop to get tatted at.

Worth its price. Upscale parlor. Extremely professional in there, no one was egotistical and rude. Really nice group of people in there. Everything was clean and very pristine. For a first time tattoo, Justin helped guide me the entire way. He was incredibly understanding and very light with his touch. He made my first experience one to remember, and also got himself a client for a long time. This place is worth it and they did not disappoint.

Was referred to an artist here for my tattoo- Hunter. I was blown away by the service and how smoothly my appointment went. Everything was very well managed and clean. They also have an awesome vibe amongst the artists and in the shop. And I highly recommend Hunter! Place is clean very comfy and everyone has a very warming welcoming vibe, tons of talent it’s a pleasure to visit and see all the exclusive sun glasses, clothing, jewelry and fine art one of my favorite spots for sure !

I found my new favorite tattoo place. I had a shoulder piece done by Justin, and the whole process from start to finish was wonderful. Justin, in addition to being a talented artist, is super professional, patient, and easy to get along with. He checked in with me numerous times during the session, explained what he was doing with patience and clarity, and was just a pleasure to work with. Ill definitely be back!

Best tattoo shop on Long Island. Tattoo artist are true professionals who are the best in the business. Donny who manages the appointments is great. He ran out and got me coffee 2 times during my appointment. Cant say enough good things about this place.

I was referred here by a friend/coworker of mine and when i first went for my consultation, before walking in through the door, i felt hesitant about getting a tattoo because its something you have for the rest of your life, but once i walked through that door all the worrying and self doubting and stress had come off me. I met with my tattoo artist - Hunter and he is one amazing artist. My experience for my first tattoo was memorable. Very nice establishment. Love the vibes. Amazing people in there. Cant wait to go back for more tattoos 😊

I only leave reviews if the place was amazing or terrible. My artist was Jordan and I got my tattoo behind my ear. If the position wasn’t weird I would’ve fallen asleep laying there. Incredible hands, super patient, made suggestions and worked with me the entire time. Donovan was amazing as well. Will 100% be back. This place is worth your time and money!!

I received a very small tattoo of my son’s handwriting on my wrist. The shop is clean and the artist nice but they charged me $200 for a 1.5” x .5” tattoo of a few simple lines. I will not return.

Thank you to James and Graham for helping to set me up for my first tattoo. I want to thank Justin for doing an excellent job of converting my references to such an awesome drawing. His artistry and professionalism made the whole process very relaxing, and there was no anxiety at all on my part. After the initial outlining was completed I had a chance to decide to go color or not because Justin stopped to create a mock up in color for me! I would also like to comment on the camaraderie and atmosphere at FountainheadNY because it was conducive to such a great experience, especially getting your first tattoo at 63! Oscar Tanko

Really clean place and nice staff. Got my first and only tattoo here, so im not experienced with these places, but i would recommend. My ring tattoo healed nicely, but there does appear to me to a have small smudge. I still like it, but wish it was perfect. The sides came out really nice, unfortunately the smudge is right on top.

Jordan at Fountainhead is an absolute pro. He is so adept at both understanding aesthetic and creating pieces that are crisp and super refined.

I cant say enough about this place! First of all, the ambience is awesome. Definitely a mix of a modern style shop with an old school vibe which I totally appreciate.Justin did two, pretty detailed, fine point tattoos on my back and ribcage that I am in love with. If youre looking for a minimalistic, small line, high quality print... he is your guy.The Instagram page @fountainheadnewyork showcases all of the artists and their work so you can take a look for yourself.Oh and very accommodating - I reached out to them on a Saturday and due to scheduling changes I was able to get in that Monday. I tried to make an appointment but unfortunately they were booked that day. However, James the manager was so sweet and professional he offered to take my number in case there was a cancellation. If his personality and how helpful he was is any indication of how good this shop is, then I’m REALLY hoping someone cancels. Lol.

I was able to get an appointment with Hunter fairly quickly. The shop was clean, and the whole staff was friendly and welcoming. Hunter provided exactly what I wanted and really took the time to make sure it was perfect before applying. Highly recommend!!
