08/20/2024Expected the worst but had an amazing visit as well as the piercing itself was not high priced I will be back for more!09/26:2024Update: my navel piercing is doing super well. No scaring of my tissue or any blood or signs of infection!!! No pain or discomfort whatsoever. 5 more months to go until it fully heals thanks again animation art studio.

Got my nostril and 2d ear piercings here and from the jump I was convinced I found my Indy tattoo & piercing home. Nova was great helping me schedule my appointment and doing the intake. I could tell she cared about me as a customer and was the complete opposite of some people Ive dealt with where they dont make eye contact or act like youre bothering them while they focus on their phone. AJ did a fantastic job on my piercings. She was personable, professional, and very knowledgeable! She told me what she was going to do, then walked through steps to complete the piercing. She made sure my piercings were perfectly placed by taking into account things I didnt consider. The actual piercing was so smooth and gentle i honestly barely felt my ear being done! She made sure I understood the aftercare and encouraged me to call if I had any questions or concerns. Overall, I dont think I couldve had a better piercing experience.

I just really want to get a tattoo Bron a Black owned shop! Just supporting my people! Walked in and got tossed with the first random artist, and the artist wasn’t even Black! Lmao. Paid a hundred dollars deposit, the artist didn’t communicate with me on the drawing until 2 days prior to my appointment, after no communication for a month! Basically Zipper got to keep my $100 deposit because I didn’t feel comfortable getting the tattoo after all the lack of communication! Enjoy that free $100 bucks!

I decided to get my nose pierced for my 52nd birthday and I am so thankful that my sister brought me here for the service! AJ pierced me with skill and patience. She walked me through the procedure and it was completed quickly.

A friend and I went in to get two piercings (a nose and a rook) and get jewelry for two other piercings. It took a total of an hour and a half. I wouldn’t be annoyed about the excessive time if it weren’t for the fact that the owner came in as the piercer was gloved up and literally about to pierce my friend’s nose w the taper and needle in hand, when he thrusts his recording phone into her face saying “ what would you do if you were a man, would you hit yourself up as you are right now?” Not only was it extremely unprofessional, but also made both of us feel extremely uncomfortable as we’re both trans. They then proceeded to talk about this for the next 10 minutes while other employees came into the room we were getting pierced in. I understand having a good atmosphere but maybe get back to some good ol fashion customer service. Secondly they would not pierce without paying up front for jewelry and no matter what piercing it’s $50. Even as I added a jewelry item, she made me pay before she installed it which I’ve not encountered in other piercing/ tattoo shops. It’s usually paid at the end. They are good w skills but not really with making people feel welcomed.

I got my belly pierced by Aj and when I tell you I didn’t even know when she had finished because I didn’t feel even a pinch!!!!! I highly recommend her for Al piercings!!!! On a scale of 1-10 my pain level was a 0

Zipper Zipper Zipper! Gave my husband his first tattoo! We came in as a walk-in...He was so patient and stayed after closing to make sure it was perfect!! An AMAZING experience, will absolutely be back!

Yoshi did a piece for my boyfriend and I and I was really grateful for the care and dedication he showed for his craft. He was accommodating and beyond generous with his time. This studio is a beautiful and compassionate creative space with amazing artists.

Zipper did my tattoos over the weekend and he was great! Quick response and great to work with. Look forward to my next tattoo with him! I’ve gotten a lot of compliments on my tattoos already.

Piercer was AJay she was very nice and had amazing energy, very clean and did an amazing job got a dermal and nose piercing and I love the work.

AJ did my tongue piercing and did a such a great job she’s also so kind and patient 🤍

One thing about me is that I’m a very shy person!!! But once I walked out of there at 5AM THE NEXT MORNING I wasn’t anymore😂one thing about Amani he definitely will make you feel comfortable and welcoming❤️I’ll definitely be back for more‼️💯He gave me more than what I asked for and for that I’m very appreciative. This picture isn’t even my full legggg but just based off this one. I knew it was going to be raw and uncut✨✨

Walked in for a bridge & X hooked me up. Great shop & everyone always has good vibes & they take care of you. The piercing went smooth 10/10 would recommend anyone lookin to get pierced to pull up.

All three kids (13, 11, 7) got their ears pierced by today. XO made ita great experience for all of us and was so patient when the youngest had second thoughts after her first ear was done. Clean, professional, friendly. Highly recommend!

I got my left nostril pierced and AJ did it perfectly! They lined up the piercing perfectly!

I got a septum piercing by ajay and she did a great job and was really nice ☺️

Went in to get a hoop for my nose that had fallen out the day before, and my partner had wanted to get their septum redone and nose piercing. Their nose piercing had went fine but their septum was done way too low and went in crooked (even when they told them that they wanted to make sure it wasnt too low) . After doing their septum the piercer claimed that they flinched before we had even said anything about the piercing. The pain was unbearable for them and we needed to remove it almost immediately. When I had went to get the jewelry they claimed my nose had probably closed up and tried to shove a 16 through my 20 piercing and almost made me passed out. I do not recommend going here. They did not listen to our requests and concerns and felt as if the customer was not held at the forefront of the service.

AJ’s services were top notch. It’s always fun to get together with my young adults. I got my nose re-pierced. My daughter got both of her nipples redone, and my niece received a first time belly button piercing. I was impressed with AJ’s knowledge and delivery of after care instructions information. She then, WOWED me with a follow up phone call to make sure my nose was healing properly and to ensure I was happy with her service. Check her out.

Aj the piercer was amazing today, she was extremely professional. Beyond happy with the work she has done for me. She pierced my lip for me, and did a damn good job for her very first lip piercing like the one I got! Definitely recommend to go see her!!!

AJ was my piercer for my Ashley piercing and she did an excellent job. She was very patient with me and it was not painful at all. Although two days later my srew came out she was able to put it back in for me! The healing process is going very well, and I couldn’t be even more happier. Thank you again.

I had the most wonderful experience with Animation Art Studio. I called at 5pm to see if I could get a really small tattoo. They had an opening. I am from out of state. I am visiting for a wedding. I wanted to get a tattoo and a person recommended this studio. I had Zipper as the artist. He drew up what I wanted for this tattoo. He had great ideas as well. I would 100% recommend going to him again. Might have to fly all the way to Indianapolis for my next tattoo. This was my first ever tattoo and Zipper was really helpful talking me through the process. Again, an amazing place!

Was my first time getting a tattoo and they made it feel like a good and calm process.

AJ was an amazing energy and did a beautiful job on both of my piercings! I wanted a triple lobe and a helix piercing on my left ear. AJ educated me on after care and communicated the whole time to make sure I was comfortable. So excited for this new change.

I was a walk in and I got serviced right away. The body piercer name was X and he was awesome. He was down to earth funny, fast, efficient and professional all at the same time. He made me feel like a friend not just a customer. I just needed my piercings put back in, he did it with no problem and no wait. I have an another appointment with him next week. I’m from chicago but I’m making the trip all the way back because it’s worth it. Thanks again X!

After months and months of thinking on it, I finally decided on getting a double helix. My entire experience was awesome! Not only was everyone so nice, they made the entire process go by smoothly. I was even able to inquire about another piercing as well as a tattoo! I’m definitely looking forward to going back!

I went to 4 different shops trying to get someone to help me get out jewelry that was too short in my nostril. Finally I called this shop and asked if I could get help as it was day 2 of having this jewelry in my nose and it was so swollen. X was able to get the jewelry out and put a longer one in. I can’t thank them enough. Will definitely be back when I’m ready for more piercings!

A few days ago I decided to get the double nostril piercing at a different location but one of the rings were to small and it felt very uncomfortable. I called Animation to see if they could save my piercing and the guy there did an amazing job with the switch out of the nose rings. Also, the conversation was really nice and informative. Overall, my experience was amazing and I will be back in the future. Thank you so much !!!!

Can’t recommend enough! Me and a friend went and both were pierced. The staff was super friendly, explained aftercare thoroughly, answered any questions we had. Also, we were helped by X, he is great! Cannot recommend him enough!!

I went in to get a piercing, it was actually a re-pierce. I was greeted by XO as soon as I walked in and he handled the rest of my services. I was nervous because I remember the piercing being painful the very first time I got it, but he made it quick, easy and painless. I love it! I got a lower lip piercing and was able to come back and get a new stud when I lost one and to get the shorter post when my piercing was all healed up. No charge for any of it! The guys name is XO and he was very professional and quite nice. If I want another piercing, Ill be going back to this place. 😉

My ear lobe piercings had been botched by two attempts with a piercing gun, so I came here to get the situation corrected. The artist XO was friendly and professional and took the time to hear what I needed done. He was quick, but careful, and I ended up with perfectly placed piercings. The tools he used came out of sealed autoclave bags. The shop overall was clean and tidy, and had very nice floors. All the staff were welcoming. The price was fair and included the earrings they used.

They were super great! My piercer X was super helpful and did my piercing very fast. Super good pricing, I would definitely come here again!

I went in for a walk in to add to my pacthwork and wound up with probably my best piece yet. I worked with zip and he had great customer service for both me and my friend. He also freehanded extra design to elevate the piece and it came out great!

Amber is amazing! She pierced my daughter and I during the summer. We both got our helix done. This was my daughters THIRD time getting her ears pierced. Five months later, Im happy to report my daughters helix is healing just fine and her ears are STILL pierced. No issues at all! My helix is healing nicely, as is my nose ring! Ive never had a woman artist tattoo me and Im elated to see her complete the masterpiece I so desire! Prices are high, but there is no price on quality, precision and professionalism! I was looking to get an ear piercing and came across Animation Art . I ended up checking it out and getting my piercing done by AJ. We talked about things I enjoyed doing and that’s when we got on the topic of apprenticing. A week later I came in for an interview, got the apprenticeship, and I have no regrets. Amani is an incredible artist, leader, teacher, and has the most patience. Never would I have thought to think of the science of drawing until now. Amani treats everyone as an artist and being here is such a rewarding experience. Overall the environment is positive and everyone within it has a great spirit.

I recently got a tattoo from Zipper during the Friday the 13th discount week! Great work, minimal pain, and pretty quick! Definitely recommend this place.

I was tattooed in part by AMH. I had a horrible experience of getting a sleeve done over the last few months and was really trying to give this place the benefit of the doubt because it’s black owned. However i feel the need to write this review after being disrespected multiple times.First of all the work itself is well done. That is the only pro. The cons are as follows:1. Last minute time changes to appointments. Like hours difference in time change communicated at the original start of the appointment. On my third session the appointment was scheduled 3 weeks in advanced for a all day “blacked out session” at 9am and artist cancelled at 8:30am day of via text. I was already at the studio when i received this message and ended up being out money as I had to pay for an all day babysitter and take off of work.2. Not focusing on the client, doing consultations and piercings during sessions. Taking long 30 minute+ breaks. This resulted in very minimal progress being made on the tattoo. Spent two all day sessions 10+ hours and sleeve is still only outlined and small bottom section has shaded.3. Overall rude and unprofessional attitude. Good table side manner but not professional in text or communicative. Follow up texts about tattoo or confirmation of appointment were ignored repeatedly.Overall this has been the worst tattoo experience I’ve ever had and I was having reservations even coming to this appointment that ended up being cancelled in the final hour.Again i think the artist work is great but i do expect some level of professionalism when looking for a permanent addition to my body. Hopefully they can work these issues out and if you do choose to use them you have a much better experience.

Just went in for a double piercing for my tongue, vertical and horizontal bars, and it was awesome! I was extremely nervous to have it done but X Organic was super professional and had me laughing so much that I forgot about the pain. I will return for sure soon

XO gave the BEST piercing experience. This was my 3rd nose piercing and he went above and beyond.1st: A friend and I called last minute knowing it would be a long shot to get in and he accommodated us.2nd: No other place or person explained the benefits of different types of rings and he politely explained why what I initially thought I wanted wouldn’t be the best for my healing process and the scar tissue that I had from previous piercings. He also explained WHY the issues I had in the past probably happened so I could avoid them in the future.3rd: He made us feel very welcome with great conversation and jokes the entire time. Even a brief plant and art discussion as the shop lobby is something to check out in itself.4th: The aftercare instructions were very clear and I could tell he truly cared about his work and how it would affect my body and look on me.5th: It was time efficient while also not feeling rushed or like I was being “upsold” for personal gain.6th: He let us know we could contact the shop/him if we had any questions going forward.Def go see XO or anyone at the shop as the other people I briefly encountered seemed professional and welcoming. SO appreciate them and will def be back.

I had a huge piece done on my thigh. He listened to what I wanted and added his creative touch to make my piece one of a kind. I did a ton of research. I absolutely love my tattoo. Super clean shop and Amani is a straight class act. No one else will do my tattoos moving forward! Keep up the wonderful work.

I got my septum pierced here and I had a HORRIBLE experience. I thought my healing process was normal as I had never experienced it before, however comparing it to others who have had theirs done I knew my piercer really messed me up. I couldn’t move my upper lip or touch any part of my nose for months. Anytime I would try to smile I would get excruciating pain. They sent me out of their shop bleeding HARD out of my nose, and when I went back in to see if they could clean me up they just handed me a paper towel. I thought this place would be great, but I was very wrong. THEY SHOULD NOT BE PIERCING IF THEY DON’T KNOW HOW TO.

I enjoyed my experience today at Animation Art Studio. My Tattoo artist and I got along great, and share similar interests. The atmosphere at this place is fun, as well as laid back. All of the Artists, and staff are upbeat fun loving individuals who seem to enjoy their work. Luis is the Artist who did my work, and I will definitely be a client from here on out. I have another session booked for tomorrow, and I booked a session the day after for my ladyfriend. This is definitely a place for a good professional tattoo experience.

Amani is an amazing Artist! Him and his team went above and beyond for my session. My session lasted more then 16 hours, they provide two meals and a snack for me. Not only were the courteous but they were extremely professional. He felt his original drawing didn’t do my tattoo justice (even though it was amazing also) so he took the time to redraw the whole thing and make it PERFECT! Just little things that set him apart from the every day tattoo artist.If you are think about getting a tattoo at this location I EXTREMELY encourage you to do so. It’s worth every penny and you’ll love the piece you get done.Side note if you can’t get Amani himself he has trained or helped all the other artists that work at this location! No one there will fail you 🙏🏽

I came in to get a piercing today and a my persons name was XO, he was very nice and it didnt hurt he explained how to take care of it and said if l had any questions he would be happy to help 😁

I think the artists are cool people and I like my tattoo. The only complaint I have is the time that I had to wait. The piece is a decent size and it cost me $1000. It took about 10 hours (in two sessions) to finish, which equates to about $100 an hour which would be fine if the sessions started on time and there weren’t large breaks in the session where nothing was being done. I had one session scheduled at 6pm and it ended at 1-2 am when i had plans at 8am the same morning. I caution/advise anyone who wants to get a tattoo from here to just make sure you check out all the options in Indy before making that decision. Nothing against anyone like I said they have great personalities, but when getting a very permanent tattoo especially an expensive one, you’re paying for a service not just personality.

Wonderful experience, clean environment and super friendly atmosphere. I felt extremely comfortable and was impressed with their ear anatomy knowledge displayed and the care given to make sure my peircing was done well but also done so I could easily manage it.

Went in for my first “small” tattoo and had such a great experience I went right back the next week for a bigger one. From the front desk staff, to the apprentices to the other clients...everyone’s friendly and the staff is extremely professional. Stoffer was my tattoo artist and he was amazing. I told him my vision and he put it all together. I loved it so much I got another done and then just decided to go for a sleeve. All the artists are great but I love the work Stoffer does. He is a true artist and I trust his work. He will get back to you quickly via email or text and is truly an amazing artist. I’ve watched the owner interact with clients and staff and he couldn’t be more professional and personable. I highly recommend this studio for tattoos and piercings.

I went and got two butterfly tattoos for my birthday. I have zero complaints about the butterflies, she did an excellent job, I am definitely going back to her within the next few months. The one thing that I had a small issue with is that they ask for you to make your full payment before they even start the work, to me they should ask for the payment when theyre halfway done with the tattoo.

Worked with X to get my nose pierced twice. This shop is official, I would definitely recommend.

Went in for a tattoo and the “artist” I was put with was a 16 year old apprentice. When I showed him the exact picture of what I wanted he decided to freehand his own version of it even after making it clear it was nowhere close to what I wanted or showed him. They also had me pay upfront and later said they don’t do refunds. I looked back on the paper i signed and nowhere does it state they don’t do refunds. They also yelled “yall n***** gay” when I decided not to go through with the freehand version of the tattoo. Overall extremely unprofessional and very sketchy feel to this studio.

LOVE this place! Got my first tattoo here and AMH made the experience very comfortable. Consultations are easy to set up and the vibe here was positive and nice!!! I would highly recommend this place for first tattoos, so many artists to choose from and their social media(instagram) has pictures of the artworks so you can easily see their skills.
