I have now been here three different times by myself and with friends --- every time has been smooth and enjoyable. The shop is clean and comfortable. They just freshly painted the inside too. Unlike some shops Ive experienced, everyone here has been very friendly. Haley is a sweetheart and my friends and I love her art that hangs in the waiting area. Ive gotten my ears re-pierced here and it went well. They have a decently large selection of jewelry available. Shawn is very cool and funny with a lot of talent as well! Rudy originally had done this small Friday the 13th deal snail/skull tattoo on me after he had been tattooing all day and my friend and I were out with cute little tattoos at 2am. (Pictured) The snail is a year old now. Rudy still kept up a good attitude during that and created smooth images despite being so tired! I just got this beautiful neotrad legend of zelda hand piece(pictured) from him! The design he put together was better than I could have imagined, he took his time, we took breaks, he grabbed me a drink from the gas station, and he kept my friends and I occupied with great conversation. I recommend Rudy to everyone looking for something traditional or neotrad, he has come a long way and Im excited to see what art he produces in the future for my friends and I! Couldnt recommend him more. I have received tons of compliments on my hand tattoo as well as my small snail.

Tattoo artist Rudy SUCKS. The guy can’t even do a simple small tattoo in a timely manner. I told him I would just come back a different day and he insisted on me staying. I got there right when they opened at noon and didnt leave until 1:45… i told him in advance I was on a time schedule but him and the shop members continued to chat, horse play ect. I even think 2 of them were snorting pills or something in the bathroom because they both went in there together (girl and a guy) and came back out sniffling their noses and such…. Shoulda walked out then. Anyways I got a memorial tattoo for my mom on my neck and I wish I would have never even gotten it. I now have to find someone to cover it up completely with something else…. Was supposed to go back and get it “finished” but decided to just find someone else to fix it or cover it up completely if it’s not fixable. The words and numbers are okay but my god THEM WINGS ARE TERRIBLE. Paid $150

Rudy Garcia is great!! Beautiful work and nothing but good vibes when I’m in his chair. He makes sure I’m comfortable and let me change around the stencil a couple times til I was happy. Excited to come back and get more work done by him!

We went in for ear piercing and had the best experience. The staff are really polite, super friendly and, most importantly, skilled. The place is super clean, welcoming and comfortable. We’ll definitely be going back when in need of their services. Thanks guys!

Rudy was awesome! Very clean, thorough, and professional. I love my sushi tattoo!!Ps: If you dont know about tattoos, it will bleed a little for a bit. After 3 days, I can take the clear bandage off, and it will not look like the sushi was unalived. If I can add more photos at a later date, I will. Otherwise, I will make a second review.Edit: I was able to add another photo. The Saniderm (clear bandage) did leak the following morning. I took it off and cleaned up my arm as suggested by Rudy. I went back on Thursday and asked him to cover it again. He did so without questions. Very happy with it!2nd edit: I recently got another tattoo at a different shop. The Saniderm didnt leak. That artist stated if the Saniderm is placed too soon, it will cause the bodys reaction to be exaggerated and cause it to leak at times. Or, at least, build up with fluids behind it. The other artist waited about 7-8 minutes before putting on Saniderm, and I had no problem with it. Not even a pocket of fluids. Been 2 ½ weeks since I had the new one done.

Ive gotten multiple tattoos from Rudy here at Artistic Skin Designs and loved them every time. He is so professional and a wonderful artist. I have never had a bad experience here and the shop vibe is very chill.

Fantastic experience today from Rudy on my new piece today! He showed that he cared about the art and was hilarious! He did some amazing work and I DEFINITELY will be returning for more!!

Rudy is an amazing tattoo artist I met him as a walk in and he is now my permanent tattoo artist. I never come in with a picture I just say what I want in general and he just makes it happen. My mom passed in February and I reached out for a memorial tattoo he had me in there the next day. Everytime I go to the shop it is clean I have never had any issues with any of the other staff either. Next time you need some work I highly recommend Rudy or any of the artists at this shop.

Rudy is absolutely the go to for tattoos! He’s an awesome artist and makes you feel comfortable the whole time. Any of his art is well worth the money

Great experience getting my septum pierced by Austin. I was able to get an appointment the same day I called. Super clean shop and plenty of parking on the side. I would definitely recommend this shop to anyone!

Our tattoos were awesome! We came in on a Sunday, but unfortunately, our guy double booked, so we had an extra 2 hours for him to finish, but it was worth the wait.

Went for a walk-in. Very accommodating and nice staff. My friend and I each got tattoos by separate artists, Shawn and Ashley. Both did amazing work! We were in and out in about an hour and a half. They dont wrap you up when youre done here though, which was a first for me.

Very clean establishment and the employees are friendly!!! Does great jobs on piercings and tattoos!!! My kids and I got our first tattoos here!!! We were very pleased with the outcome!!!

I’ve never been to a tattoo shop that doesn’t do walk-in piercings. Took my wife and daughter for all of us to get nose piercings. Walked into an empty shop with at least a tattoo artist and a piercer, and the fella says, “my earliest appointment is Wednesday…” that’s fine. We went to the tattoo shop 200 yards away and we all got pierced for $150 and they look great. Sorry to interrupt your break from nothing. 3 piercings took less than an hour.

I went to artistic to get a cover up and get some flowers to add with my butterflies. I am amazed how my tattoo turned out. Eric did a beautiful job and will be coming back for more tattoos. Thank you so much Eric!

This review is on the shop + tattoo artist. I got a tattoo done on Friday the 13th for one of their artists deals. He was doing a standard $13 flash and then bigger ones with a choice of having color that ranged in $31-60ish. I chose to get one of his bigger flashes since he only had a flash that I liked that was a bigger size. He was kind enough to schedule an appointment with me figuring he’d be slammed. I showed up and everything was great, but me personally I was alarmed by the lack of sterilization I could smell once walking in the building (anyone knows that actively gets tattoos knows usually tattoo shops smell strongly of sterilization). And once the guy was ready to assist me once he was done with a previous guest, he NEVER ID me, which in fact I do know I have “baby face” since I’m literally 21-years-old. Never asked me to sign anything at all either for liability. That was my second red flag. I sat down in his booth for him to put the stencil on my arm where I asked him to place it. He NEVER asked me to look in the mirror or anything to see if I liked the placement since ..you know it will be with me for the rest of my life. He just went straight to tattooing me. Which I don’t know if he just assumed I would be ok since I told him where I wanted it + I already have a decent amount of ink. Skipping ahead to 4 days after I’ve gotten this tattoo; I can definitely tell this artist just chopped half of my skin up by going too deep. By the second day of me having it, it was blown out and you could see in the light the different levels of my skin where he went deeper than my 1st layer of skin. I should not be able to see literally gashes in my tattoo/skin. At the end when it came time to pay, I paid him the amount plus a decent tip since he was kind enough to add more color since the original rule was only two colors. This artist was kind and a good person to chat to while getting ink, but for the proper procedures of tattooing I feel like he did a very poor job. I took a chance this time to go to someone random rather than my regular tattoo artist that is rather expensive, and I will not be reliving this experience again and will be sticking to the tattoo artists I know I can trust. If you don’t want to be carded and just want to get a tattoo not caring if it’s good or not, go to Rudy.

I visited this place 2010 for my right nostril and I still have it. I am a creature of habit, I visited again for the right side nostril a week ago and I am still happy with my piercing. I will be returning. Austin is awesome!!! I definitely recommend it!! PSA Hes a perfectionist!!!

Appointment for medusa piercing is tomorrow. Piercer had to step out but the other guy helped me and answered all my questions. He was awesome. Beautiful variety of jewelry. I cant wait!

Really good experience here! The people were all super friendly & very inviting. The shop was extremely clean & sanitary, which made it very easy to feel comfortable. They were also very informative about pricing & procedures. Speaking of which, their prices are very reasonable. Im actually planning on going back to get some tattoo work done. My wife got her nose pierced & the piercer was really nice & very professional. He did an excellent job! He was quick to offer tips & give advice on the healing process. He also said if any problems arose feel free to contact him directly. Its the little things like that, that make you feel valued as a customer. Id recommend this location to everyone! 👌🏽😁😉

Been going to artistic skin design on east side for 16 years now but the best tattoo artist Ive came across there is Shawn Sweet. He will make sure you get taken care of and his work is amazing, we are currently working on sleeve number 2. He will take deposits and not screw you over hes very well trusted and if he has to reschedule he will communicate with you or if you have to reschedule he has no problem with that. Dude is absolutely amazing at what he does.

Breanna did an AMAZING job with my chest piece/scar cover up. We ended up being able to cover up almost all of my stomach scars. She was extremely easy to work with during the design, and she perfectly captured exactly what I envisioned. I bawled like a baby when I seen it done and all my ugly scars covered in a beautiful tattoo. I was finally able to see myself as beautiful all thanks to her work. I really mean it when I say she changed my entire outlook towards my body. I cant wait to cover more scars with her. Book her for any scar coverage you wont be disappointed!

If you need a tattoo or piercing I would suggest going here. I called to see if they could remove my microdermal facial piercing and Austin was able to get me in the next day. I am so glad I chose to come here because I definitely dont trust just any person to do this. I will definitely be back to get another piercing from Austin.Thank you again!!!

Wife and I have gotten multiple tattoos done here by Haley, and she’s fantastic! Whole business is professional and by the book, and Haley’s care and attention to detail are great. Shawn looking over her work is reassuring as well, and the work of his I’ve seen is also great. Highly recommend.

Really disappointed. I met with Shawn and explained I was looking for an artist to get work done on a regular basis, seemed like he understood. Put down a deposit and tried to stay in communication with him about the work I wanted done before my appointment. He was a no show to my appointment and I had to reach out to him and reschedule. I thought life happens and didn’t hold it against him, but I honestly wish I would have asked for my deposit back and moved on to another artist elsewhere. But I got rescheduled and got my tattoo done finally, put down a generous amount for his tip to consider it as another deposit for my next tattoo that I scheduled after my session was over. Tried contacting him twice and was ghosted after trying to ask when my next appointment we scheduled me down for bc I forgot to write it down. Felt kinda robbed from the beginning, not sure if he didn’t like me or the work I wanted done but it would have been more professional/I would have understood if he explained that he wouldn’t book me for another appointment, would have taken the hint with no questions asked since that was the vibes I was getting anyways. But instead i got ghosted by someone who’s supposed to be a professional in this industry after being clear I was looking for a reliable artist to go to for getting regular work done. Wasted my time going thru Shawn. Wouldn’t recommend

Used to enjoy getting pierced here but now its absurdly expensive with nothing extra being given. They have barely any jewerly, they dont always pierce it in the correct size, they dont pierce advanced piercings (bridges and septums ig???). piercer is cool but his prices r wack.

Got my septum done and I was in and out in 20 minutes! Professional, clean, and efficient! I called around 615 to see if they had any appointments that night and they were able to fit me in at 7 PM, I live right down the street so it was absolutely perfect!

Im not gonna lie out of all my tattoos this was my first done in an actual shopThe place was very professional clean and relaxing. The artist did a better job than I could expect and was very patient with after care instructions on top of staying late to fit me in.. Shawn did an amazing job and was able to work quickly while managing not to make the tattoo look rushed In the end. Over all best experience Ive had yet and will definitely be going back for more ink! U wont regret checking them out be sure to ask for cash or Shawn bc both of them do fenomenal work(: thanks guys

I got my lip pierced and my piercer Austin Trueblood gave the utmost respect and was very gentle and talked me through it considering i was a bit nervous. The place is amazing and i will definitely be going back for more piercings and tattoos.

After putting it off and off again I finally worked up the nerve and was lucky enough to secure an appt with Austin Trueblood who is by far a 1 of a kind Skin Design Warrior. From greeting to procedural inclusiveness and accuracy, my piercing went fast- Austin was concise and professional but above all very very personable. All nervousness swept aside after a few minutes of initially arriving. The facility is clean and private with professional staffers, ample parking, and is conveniently on the busline at this 5 star location on Indianapolis beautiful East Side MANY THANKS TO AUSTIN AND ARTISTIC SKIN DESIGN FOR A VERY VERY POSITIVE EXPERIENCE AND AN ADDITION THAT WILL LIKELY BE WITH ME FOR LIFE!

Have had several experience over many years, both tattoos & piercings all very positive & with excellent professionalism. Friendly atmosphere knowledge of profession & artistic abilities. Along with the individuality needed to deal with different personalities & characteristics of unique people.

Had the artist set up the appointment, the day of messaged him and got no response. Showed up at the scheduled time only to find out he isn’t there. Apparently he had talked to another artist and he was going to take care of it for him. The artist was running “a few minutes” behind. Two hours later I walked out with no tattoo. If somebody is putting enough trust in you to permanently put something on their body, maybe communicate with them

Im going to keep it short as possible. I went in for a cover-up tattoo last month and talked to Corey B. He said he could perform the cover-up with no problems. As I was getting the tattoo, I expressed my concerns with the amount of white ink he was using because I thought it would turn yellow, but he assured me it wouldnt. He was also very heavy handed. A month and a half later, I have several areas of scar tissue and guess what?... my tattoo is turning yellow. Im sure that he has had tattoos turn out good, but with so many talented tattoo artists and shops available, why risk it? Im now stuck with this on my forearm for life. The owners were sympathetic and informative, but thats it. They offered to go over the tattoo again, but then it would be darker. They stated several times that every artist in their shop is technically a sub-contractor and they are not responsible for them. They also support their entire argument with the possibility of improper aftercare. This is my 17th tattoo and Ive NEVER had these problems before

Piercing side was great...a tattoo artist was supposed to do a design for me...gave him what he asked to draw it and never got back with me...if that was my first experience there, I would never go back.. for me Im willing to go back one more time when it comes to tattoos.

I made the mistake of self piercing my nose. I just went in the purchase jewelry that would fit because of the swelling. Maria was super professional and kind! She fixed my botched piercing and size my jewelry properly. Won’t make the mistake again of doing it myself. Plan on returning for future piercings.

Today I got something in honor of my 2 wonderful and beautiful daughters. I love this tattoo. I dreamed of it but could not draw it. After several let downs at other parlors, I called Artistic Skin Design on Arlington. Talked to Eric. He took my idea, put it on paper, and made it come to life. I would highly recommend Eric to get all your body art done. Just be warned he is a Patriots fan LOL. But besides that flaw he is amazing. The shop was really clean and bright. I have visited the east side location several times regarding piercings and Cogan has gone above and beyond every time.I tend to get really nervous right before a piercing and he is fantastic at making me feel comfortable and reassured. I have had apprehensions about getting a tattoo. Through lots of support and encouragement I did it! Artistic Skin Design helped me create a portal of remembrance for my mother. The artist Kash creates a calm about the entire experience and is gifted in his field. The rest of the staff were super chill and unphased at the presence of our family (3 toddlers included). We created a family memory. Go. Now. And create something memorable for yourself.

If you are a person of color do not spend your money here. I went there to get a simple sun tattoo on my hand. I had an accident so I was looking to cover an unappealing scar. I was denied service by a dude named Adam for not having enough tattoos everywhere else. When I told him that makes no sense to me because Im paying for your services he very rudely told me that he has the right to discriminate and that I should have read the right to refuse service sign on the door. This place is racist and I have never been treated this way in my life. Do not spend your money there if your a person of color since our dollars dont spend like every one elses..

I got a total of 3 piercings done in February All are doing well and I was very happy with the manor they were done. The pain was not bad I will be going back for others.

Shawn is the best dude. Hes an amazing artist and hes really cool and talkative. I loved my tattoo and time spent there.

Paid $250 for a tattoo that Rudy Garcia did. He couldnt get numbers or cursive names straight, different thicknesses, my children could write cursive better. He was very aggressive in trying to cover all the mistakes, so it scabbed and brushed badly. Such an amateur, lesson learned such a disappointment for my childrens names. Some tattooist are artists and some are ink slingers.

Just got my tongue pierced, it went quick. I love it! The people here are nice and make you feel so comfortable. Definitely coming back!

I took my nephew here for his first tattoo (i promised him when he turns 18) and JC known as Jeff did his tattoo and did a GREAT JOB!

I went to the N. Arlington St shop and wanted Cogan to pierce my tragus because he always does a good job, however he moved to the Avon store. : (I was under the impression the tragus would be virtually painless due to it being cartlage, but the new guy pierced my tragus got it as close to the cheek as he could get and the pain was almost unbearable. After he got it pierced (OR thought he had it pierced) he tried and tried to put the back in and apparently the post wasnt all the way through so he was piercing it again to get the post all the way through trying to get the back on. I was in tears by the time I left. Four weeks later and still having a lot of pain I went to a different shop and the girl told me he put in the wrong earring, it was put in crooked and the post was way to short. She took a picture for me to show me the tragus was growing over the back because it was swollen and twice its normal size.After she took out the earring he put she gave it to me and I noticed the stone was smaller than the one I originally bought......huh......

Rude. terrible customor service. waited for an hour, nobody greeted us. the piercer wasted our time. everyone that was working went outside to go smoke cigarettes instead of doing their job. we left without the piercing.
