The best tattoo experience Ive had by far! Sam is a wonderful artist with amazing talent. The studio is very comfortable and inviting. Couldnt recommend a better place to get a tattoo.

I recently went for my first tattoo and everyone was super nice and made me feel so comfortable. I love the atmosphere they have created. Sam worked on my tattoo and totally nailed it -she is unbelievably talented! Highly recommend!

If we could rate this place 10 out of 10, we would because 5 stars doesn’t do it justice. My girlfriend and I were looking to get my first tattoo done by someone professional and came across Voluta. We then researched the artist’s, and while everyone is amazingly talented, we had picked Samielle. Samielle made everything about the experience, from the consultation, to the actual tattoo session absolutely amazing. She, and all of the artists that we had met, were all very welcoming and friendly and kind, and they all made us feel at home in their studio. We cannot thank Samielle enough as she was incredible in every way. She was communicative, professional, fun, and just overall an awesome person. We will be back many, many, many more times. We are just starting out with our tattoo experiences, but we wouldn’t think of going anywhere else, besides Voluta. Thank you to Samielle for a an awesome experience!!!!!

Genuine, friendly, authentic tattoo shop. I had the pleasure of having the artist Daniel. Who took the time to get to know me and my needs for the new art he had placed. Realistic flowers is what I wanted and he delivered. The colors are vibrant and bold. My gemstone color roses are an amazing tribute to my beloved late parents.

Seriously Voluta tattoo is THE BEST. The environment is amazing and overall super comfortable. Communication is perfect and it’s always a blast when I come here! Everyone is so funny and it is just a good old time. Like I actually would live here it is so cool and relaxing. Brandon Conan and Sarah are all so nice and lovely. Not to mention the extreme amount of TALENT. The work that’s put to the art and dedication is superb. Brandon absolutely nailed my tattoo and it came out amazing. I would recommend to absolutely everyone who is thinking about getting a tattoo.

My friend and I had the best day at Voluta! It was by far the best tattoo experience Ive had. The process of choosing a tattoo and the location was very collaborative, and the ambiance is so relaxing and helps to ease any fears one may have. Brandon tattooed us, and made us feel right at home immediately and is so talented. He was very honest about how a tattoo is expected to heal due to its location. He and his brother Conan were great to meet and talk to, and they definitely have repeat clients in us.

Oh my goodness, this place is amazing! Daniel was an absolutely wonderful tattoo artist. He was super responsive when it came to setting up the tattoo appointment, and he was very helpful when it came to bringing my idea for a tattoo to life! The design (a peony bud surrounded by apple blossoms) is ABSOLUTELY GORGEOUS. I highly recommend Voluta to anyone looking to get a tattoo!!!!

Brandon Lea created a unique, masterful custom dragon tattoo combining Japanese wood block esthetic, historic Chinese references, and a bit of Art Nouveau. Its readable, classic, and a work of art.He is kind, willing to take breaks, and cares not only for outcomes but for his customers.I highly recommend!

There are no places like this. I have been to other tattoo places, and this one is like no other. In fact, I wouldnt call this a tattoo parlor, it is more like an art studio. The atmosphere that they provide and the attention and care they give each person is unmatched. Brandons work was awesome and I cannot wait for my next tattoo. Google, add a 6th star because these artists are truely in a separate class. I would describe this studio is a group of passionate artists that just happen to tattoo. They provide a home family kind of comfortable feel, the newest equipment that makes the process almost painless.But the artwork is why you need to stop searching and just email them! They brought my vision to life more than I even did in my own mind. Brandon is an absolute boss there and made me just stare at my work studying what he did in appreciation. Stop looking for a shop and start emailing him! Trust me...worth the journey.

Ive recently finished a custom tattoo that we began three years ago. Conan helped me to artfully tell my story in a way I could have never imagined. Conan has done two tattoos for me and I hope well be able to do several more together. He is a wonderfully talented artist and a genuinely good guy. He listened to what I was trying to achieve and gave great advice and helped weave my ideas into custom tattoos that I absolutely love. He uses email to schedule, which was convenient for me. I havent worked with Michelle but the tattoos of hers that Ive seen are gorgeous. If you are looking for a custom tattoo from a talented and cool artist, I highly recommend Voluta Tattoo.

Katie has mad skill! If you’re looking for nothing but absolute perfection/professionalism and the best tattoo artist in Indiana you need to go to her! Her art work is absolutely incredible and she is able to transfer her art onto you identically! She perfectly tattooed an owl on my arm in no time flat! COVID wasn’t even on my mind while I was there they keep it THAT clean! Not only will you get the perfect tattoo you’ve always wanted but the atmosphere of their building is an absolute delight, I felt so cozy in their shop and they welcome you in humbly!

Brandon is the man! He does incredible black work. He’s extremely personable and patient and is a phenomenal tattoo artist. This place takes amazing care of their clients and I will be back for more to come! Best tattoo spot in Indianapolis hands down.

I haven’t been in around a year but recently seeing pictures of the place just reminded me that I’ve never been anywhere like this before. The atmosphere is amazing, it’s not like walking into a typical tattoo shop, it’s comforting and inviting in a completely different and wonderful way. Conan and the other staff go above and beyond to make sure that you are comfortable and love the art that you are getting. I’ve been to a couple of other places where I felt like I was just another random person getting a tattoo, which I think is probably quite common. It’s not bad, as they’re there to create art and do their job, not make friends, but it’s not Voluta either. At voluta you feel at ease knowing that you can talk or sleep or jam to some music all while they help create something beautiful for you to wear forever, and you will never doubt that you’ll love it because you’re completely involved in the design process the entire way and you know that they are such kind people and so incredibly talented. Truly I believe there is no place like this in the world, don’t go anywhere else.

If you want a beautiful tattoo and a beautiful experience getting it, Voluta is the place for you. Conan is so extremely talented, and kind. Taking you from an idea to a finished beautiful tattoo with kindness and fun along the way. There is also microblading available as well. The studio space is also absolutely beautiful. Calming and comforting.

Voluta Tattoo is unlike any other place in the city. For one, the building itself is gorgeous, and the inside studio is just as remarkable. I have gotten my eyebrows microbladed by Brandon, and have had a touch up after they healed for extra color, and couldnt be happier with the results. I definitely get more compliments on my brows since the deeper color and the more defined arch has enhanced my brows. Check in is simple, tea or coffee is waiting for you, and the whole experience is delightful. I recommend everyone checking out the studio; Conan is an amazing tattoo artist himself.

Conan is amazing! I got my first tattoo from him 5years ago and it is still a strong piece. He listens well and uses his experience to insure that the tattoo makes sense from every angle shape, size, color, and meaning.I am proud to wear his work.

I can honestly say that this is by far the best tattoo shop i have ever been in. The staff (conan and michele) are as friendly as they are professional. And lets not mistake here these people are not your run of the mill flash artists (no disrespect) that you run into everyday. Conan and Michele are true artists both classically and non-classically trained. They are as talented as they are level headed and friendly. When you walk into their shop they make you feel welcome and talk to you like your a real person. I would never get a tattoo done anywhere else even if i had moved out of state. The skill and comfort level you receive here are first rate and after experiencing it could not tolerate any less.

This is a workshop of art, energy, and care, not a stereotypical tattoo parlor for a quick 1-hour banger piece just to get cattle through the door. I am not a tattoo collector. I was referred to Conan for reconstructive/restorative tattoos. I read some negative comments regarding the scheduling process and referring to Conan as a pretentious artist. Admittedly, I was a little put off at first by the auto response email but persisted because he was highly recommended by my plastic surgeon. Once the initial consultation was done, scheduling has been easy and convenient. I would encourage you to think why it would be so difficult to access a tattoo artist.....and now Ill tell you....he is that good and in high demand. I do not consider him to be a pretentious artist although he has every right to be. I find him to be an extremely talented artist, mindful of his clients needs, and fun to hang with. The studio is beautiful, filled with wonderful music,his original artwork and all kinds of great eye candy to distract you. While my tattoo is not yet , complete, I can already see the changes it is making in my life. When I look down at my arm I no longer see terrible burn scars, I see a gorgeous work of art. I do not feel as self conscious showing my arms and have recently been seen in public in my string bikini with no cover up. I told Conan that all my life most people who see my burns usually avert their eyes or look at me with pity, it made me feel like a freak.....well no one is looking away from me anymore Conan, they are turning to look. You have helped this girl more than you know Conan and I am appreciative of your skills and compassion .

Before i sing the praises of Conans work and the experience, let me address some of the negs you might see posted. HE. IS. THAT. GOOD. So that translates into you might have to wait a bit. If a tattoo is an impulse buy for you, there are plenty of others out there. If you want a true artist, one who spends several hours with you first just to understand who you are and the significance of your tattoo, youre at the right place. Even Conans technique is different. He achieves incredible detail by layering in ink. This potentially means several sessions. Again, if you are an impulse buyer who needs it now, you can find shops where you sit for a few hours and youre done. Conans approach to quality in life permeates his work.

This is a place full of fantastic artists, wonderful people, and great ambience. Always a great experience. Can’t recommend it enough.

Conans work speaks for itself we can all see that from his web galleries. What you wont see there are the book cases full of artistic inspiration from the masters to the macabre (no flash here) that block the view of countless awards hes won from shows across the country. Hes too modest to boast. We just won some hardware in Miami for a back-piece of his I proudly wear.For my back-piece I wrote a story of what I wanted the artwork to convey and let him have at it. I gave him no photographic references, just my story. He interpreted it and blasted out an awesome piece.I cant say enough about this place. Hes created his own tattoo-nirvana in downtown Indy. Im looking forward to getting back there!

Brandon at Voluta did a great job on my eyebrows!! I didnt know how little I had until I saw my results. :-o Im so happy with his professionalism and attention to the smallest detail!

While they’re incredibly friendly and very polite, I have to say that I was thoroughly disappointed in what happened. I was to be tattooed by Katie, so I came in with a couple of ideas. We sat down, she drew up a couple rough sketches that were spot on with what I had imagined. We set a date for me to bring in the deposit and to begin the first session. I emailed her a few days later stating I would be bringing the deposit the following week due to personal issues. We set a new date to bring the deposit. All was good. The day before I was supposed to bring the deposit, I emailed Katie and told her that I would still be bringing the deposit. No response. I emailed her the day of...no response. I’m not sure if she received the emails...either way, there was no follow up.
