Jakob R. helped me design my sleeve. I had a few lilies I needed fixed/covered up and he came up with this full design and color scheme! Very please and highly recommend him! He brought my vision to life and having him design it made it much that better! Thank you!

Kaylee was awesome, super friendly, and genuinely just has a calming energy to what she does. I came in a little anxious to get both my nostrils done and she made me feel so comfortable which says a lot. The piercing was super easy didn’t hurt at all and she was great with explaining aftercare and making sure I was happy with my placement before proceeding. The jewelry they offer is also great quality I highly recommend this place! The shop was super cute too. 10/10

I have been using Jakob at Landlocked Kc for my tattoos for nearly 8 years now. He runs an extremely clean shop, and all their artist do a fantastic job. I refuse to use anyone else other than this place. Jakob does killer work, insanely steady lines and his attention to detail is unmatched. I also love Kaylee, who does all the piercings. I have had so many issues in the past with getting piercings..not with her, she uses top of the line jewelry, and really takes time to explain the process and has always given me the best advice on keeping my jewelry clean and made my healing process easy. I absolutely love this place. They are more like family now

I have had several tattoos done by Jacob Ristau. He is very professional. I have never been disappointed by his work. He did two memorial tattoos for me and I have never be more pleased with his work. He is the only one I will go to for future tattoos.

Gabby was so great. It was my first tattoo and I was so nervous but she walked me through it she was so patient with me answered all my questions. She did a line first to let me get the feel for it and it was great. I’ll definitely go back to see her when I want another one

MY FAVORITE TATTOO SHOP! Jake is so easy to work with, he’s incredibly efficient with his time (which is always nice if the artist charges by the hour). I’ve never felt rushed to okay the design and he’s happy to readjust size and details. I’ve gotten coverups from him, random pieces and a half sleeve and love them all. He is so creative and always gives my ideas the perfect pop of magic. Their shop is always so clean and has great vibes. Highly recommend.

Everyone there is super nice and welcoming. I got my industrial piercing done by Kaylee. She is super nice and very informative. She walked me through everything and made sure I knew everything I needed to know about my piercing. She is very professional and checked my ear anatomy to make sure the piercing would be a good fit. She is very thorough especially in sanitizing and cleaning everything. I felt super comfortable the whole time and I recomend going to her for your piercings.

Kaylee was so informative and honest during my session. I originally came in to get my septum pierced but I knew that it might not be what I wanted because of my anatomy. She patiently talked it through with me and explained how it would look. We ultimately decided to pierce my nostril instead and I am so happy with it. She placed it in an awesome spot and I know it will heal well. Great shop!

I found Jake through his Instagram and went in to talk to him about doing a full sleeve on my left arm. He was very accommodating and took my hodge-podge of ideas and desires and merged them into a fantastic final product that couldnt have come out any better. The whole crew at Landlocked are nothing but professional, clean, friendly and are absolutely one of the best shops there is out there. Will most certainly return there when I need more work done and I cannot recommend them enough!!!

She made a good impression, so much so that when my daughter wanted her ears pierced I booked an appointment with Kaylee. I got my navel pierced here and I couldnt be any happier with the results. Kaylee makes sure that you have the proper anatomy for piercings and is willing to be honest with her clients. I went in originally for a septum piercing, but found out that I have a deviated septum. I got an eyebrow piercing instead, Kayleewas very professional and thorough from start to finish addressing questions and concerns. I will definitely be back for my other piercings. I am extremely happy with my piercing by Kaylee and my experience at Landlocked, overall. I had my septum pierced and my partner had her 3rd piercing on her ear lobes. Kaylee was very accommodating and allowed us to schedule a combined appointment for the same time.When I arrived, I immediately noticed how clean the shop was. After being greeted and checked-in, Kaylee went over the jewelry options and provided the total cost before I started on the required paperwork. I thought this was nice because then I knew the total cost up front.Kaylee answered all my questions prior to beginning the piercing, specifically about piercing placement and my anatomy. Then walked me through the entire procedure before getting started so I knew what to expect. During the procedure Kaylee was communicating each step as it was happening. It is worth mentioning that all instruments and items used were in sterile packaging and opened in front of me. Kaylee was great about changing gloves too.The piercing was painless (I did feel some pressure but no pain). It was an incredibly foreign sensation to feel anything sliding through my septum for the first time. I did not feel any bruising or inflammation in the days following, just normal post-piercing sensitivity if bumped. The jewelry is titanium which is hypoallergenic and lightweight and has been great.I chose to go to Landlocked and Kaylee for my piercing because they are one of only two APP member locations in Kansas City (at the time of writing this review) and the great reviews online. I am confident that I made the best choice and highly recommend Kaylee if anyone is considering a piercing! Kaylee was kind, professional, and offered exceptional service!

I took my 9 year old daughter here to get her ears pierced, Kaylee was incredible with her! She explained the process every step of the way and didn’t do anything without asking my daughter if she was okay! I could not recommend this place more!

Dallas is amazing to work with! I’ve done everything from walking in with a vague idea (to which he replied, “give me 15 minutes,” and came back with an incredible design), to emailing him about 50 pictures of entirely different things that he put together into a phenomenal thigh piece, to giving him specific images, to trusting him with his own creation at a tattoo convention, and I’ve ALWAYS had a phenomenal experience with him. He’s a wildly talented artist and works with high quality products. He’s quick and thorough. And he’s a pleasure to chat with (which is always a bonus when your spending a few hours with someone). I give his info to everyone I know and cannot recommend him highly enough!

I cant say enough good things about Jakob. Hes done most of my right arm half sleeve and his work is always amazing. I love coming to him with an idea because he makes it twenty times better. I chose landlocked to do a very important piece for me it was my great grandmothers hand writing in a card she gave to me before we lost her. The shop was very nice and clean and everyone was very nice and professional. I went in to talk to them about it and got a tattoo the same day! I chose landlocked because they had done outstanding work on my boyfriend in the past and I was not disappointed! The flash work they have is even awesome and they have a mystery machine which was great to see in kc! 10/10 I recommend this shop to a lot of people and they have a very nice Instagram with lots of good work to show!

I got my nose pierced here.. and this is my third time getting it re-pierced because the other piercers at other shops were terrible. Let me tell y’all, KAYLEE is sweet, legit and solid. It went smooth and quick. They even offered titanium jewelry (for very sensitive people like me) and other jewelry options. This place is very clean and sanitized. I would def recommend this place to everyone!!

I was really nervous about getting another tattoo since the last couple tattoos were painful (done at another shop). Landlock was highly recommended by Matt and Shelden... my daughter and I went today and had a great experience! Jakob did mine, Raymond did my daughter and both were professional, patient, clean. We gave them an idea of what we wanted and within minutes drew it up. No pain, very efficient! Kaylee was very friendly. They did a beautiful job. I might have a new addiction and Landlock is the only place Ill go.

Upon the looks of the outside of the shop, it looks very inviting and classy with it’s hand painted windows. Nothing gaudy but classic, informative and inviting.As you walk through the door you are greeted by either Jake, the proprietor, Kaylee, the body piercer, or Steve or Raymond who are also tattooers. The shop is very clean and Jake runs a tight ship where that is concerned, and you can tell. The floors have this crazy crackled finish on them that make them pop and contrast well with the walls.I have known Jake for almost as long as I have been back in Kansas City and I have had the pleasure of watching him hone his skills and he always blows me away! I worked in the industry for a few years back east and I like to think I can spot talent and Jake has it! Everyone that works at Landlocked Tattoo are more than capable at whatever is asked of them as far as a tattoo or piercing goes. I ha e looked through all of their portfolios and have no reservation when recommending them to anyone that asks me about where to go. Do yourself a favor and go see them, you won’t be let down, I promise you!

I had a piercing done by Kaylee and let me just say she is amazing, she is so professional and educated me very well, she gave me a paper with the size of my jewelry and when it can be changed. This was very helpful and she answered all the questions i had. I drove 40 minutes just to come to this shop and i would do it again! Went to get matching tattoos with my sister and had a very great experience. Everyone was super friendly and the shop was very clean. Our artist Malerie did an excellent job on both tattoos and she helped the experience be relaxing and not at all stressful. I would highly recommend this shop and Malerie for getting a tattoo done. After getting my latest tattoo (a large, colorful 3/4 sleeve) done by Jake, it was obvious, I had FINALLY found my tattoo artist. From now on, Jakob Ristau is the only artist I will allow to work on me.The shop is clean, professional, constantly putting out great pieces; and most importantly, filled with awesome people.

By far this has to be the best place to get a tattoo and a piercing. The shop is so clean and welcoming it blows all of the others I have been to out of the water! Raymond has done a killer job of collaborating with me and making every one of my ideas a unique piece. His work is crisp, clean, and quick. Definitely not the clock milking type. All of the artist take pride in each others work, and a genuine interest in yours as well. The atmosphere is laid back, and the soundtracks are killer!

Saint Dallas has managed to do a large portion of my tattoos. He is an incredible artist and has a super soft hand when tattooing.I would recommend him to anyone looking to get tattooed.

If you go here don’t see mike. Dude will judge the tattoo before you decide to get it because he’s not capable of doing it. Any tattoo artist should be able to do customer options. But he didn’t at all. Talked disrespectful about the tat “ i don’t see it on someone’s neck” i didn’t ask you that dude if i wanted your opinion I’d ask lol. Just don’t see him if ever attended

Piercer is never on site you have to schedule an appointment just to have a replacement of jewelry then when you call to set an appointment you have to cater to the piercer schedule not your own Super inconveniencing not for the customer more for self, something so easy shouldnt be so difficult had the piercer been on site in the first place how do you offer piercings but the piercer is not on property unacceptable... if I could give negative Stars I would
