I have been to Haus of Pain twice my first tattoo on my thigh was done by Juliette and my 2nd one was done by Max the owner. Max did an awesome job. It’s a very relaxed no pressure atmosphere I definitely like the private setting. Max cares about his clients he is very professional and knowledgeable unlike any other tattoo shop I have been to. I recommend this place to my friends and family. I can’t wait to be going back and getting more work done by Max.

Max has done three pieces for me in just a few months. To say I’m obsessed is an understatement. Haus of Pain is quiet, comfy, and the overall best tattoo shop in town. Go check them out ASAP! The books fill up SO fast!

This place was amazing. Scheduling and working on custom pieces with an artist was so amazing and easy. Everyone was professional and the environment was very chill and calm. I went to Haus of Pain over spring break for a new tattoo. Right away I was impressed with how clean the shop was. Juliette was my artist, and she was AMAZING! she was warm and friendly and made me feel at ease the entire time. The piece we created together was so very important to me. We had great conversation about it, and many other things. I will definitely go back!

Max was awesome! He drew up a beautiful piece for me. He expressed his concerns about certain things he wanted to make sure I was happy with in the long run and we ran with it. His shop is super cute and super clean. I will definitely be back.

Great experience! Max is a really cool guy who did a great job listening to my thoughts & giving solid advice which you know doesnt always happen at studios. This was one of my few tattoos at a private studio and it is just so much more chill! Tattoo looks great and I cant wait for it to be all healed up. Will definitely be going back.

My Mom and I went to get matching tattoos in the handwriting of my father who has passed. Max did an absolute amazing job. We are both so happy and in love with our tattoos. The service was great, the shop is clean, and they do amazing work on top of it all. We will definitely be back for more!

So good that I’m tempted to gatekeep this place so I can book more appointments for myself. This was my first tattoo and Max absolutely killed it. He worked with me to refine my design and made sure I was completely happy with it before inking it on. He really listened when I expressed changes I wanted to make to the design, and he advised me on the best placement and orientation for the tattoo to keep things looking balanced (and was totally right!). I’m a perfectionist and was super anxious about how it would turn out, but that all went out the door once he was done. His work comes out SO clean and SO stunning and I can’t wait to come back and get more pieces done by him!! Highly recommend!!!

Max is really detailed with his work. The shop itself is very welcoming. I brought, to him, a tough piece for him to cover up. He’s a champ! We went back and forth with ideas and I love what he was able to do. I have a touch up session this weekend, so it’s only going to get better. I have finally found an artist that I want to stick with.

I would 10/10 recommend Haus if Pain Tattoo Co to anyone! I have always wanted to do a Get What You Get session and I talked my husband into doing it with me, making it a cute little date night. Max was fantastic!! Our tattoos turned out great and just the overall experience was great! I did not meet his wife but communicated with her while booking the sessions and she was so nice and attentive! Great service, great tattoo - what more can you ask for!? Plus they are so giving to the community, which makes my heart happy 🖤

Was completely nervous about finding a GOOD artist that made me feel comfortable and Max did that. The environment was super chill and he delivered exactly what I asked for which was some new stuff around an existing tattoo and touching up linework on the previous tattoo. Glad I listened to my friend about max and will definitely be back!

Haus of Pain is the ONLY place to get a tattoo in West Lafayette. It’s a clean, comfortable, laid back environment and Max is an amazing artist and genuinely great person. My tattoo came out better than I imagined, he mixed the color perfectly from my brief description, they took interest in the meaning and history behind it, and made me feel very welcome. If I could give 50 stars I would!

I just got my first tattoo from Haus of Pain and the environment was great. It’s a private, clean tattoo studio and Max made sure I felt comfortable. Got my first medium size piece done on my hand , when I went with max he was really cool person to be around and very friendly.Had beverages to offer , snacks to offer and was all in all a very good host , during my tattoo session we just bumped to $uicideboy$ while he worked and genuinely he made the experience great ! I visited once for my own small tattoo and once with a friend as she got hers, and both times the atmosphere was calm, clean, and welcoming! Max did a great job on both of our tattoos and really brought our visions to life, and they healed so easily with his advice. I got 3 of my 4 tattoos in 2023, all done by Max. 1 was a decent size realism piece and it took us over 24hrs total and 6? sessions to get it done and touched up to a point we were both happy with it. I was happy with it before Max was; he wanted to perfect it and I was happy to let him! I will definitely always go to Haus of Pain before I go ANYWHERE else. The studio is personal, quiet, calming. Max is super chill. Scheduling online is easy. The whole experience is just great!

BEST tattoo shop I’ve been to! The atmosphere is super chill, clean and comfortable. The employees there are even better! Juliet did a PHENOMENAL job on my tattoo, thanks to her I now have an incredibly colorful cartoon of my cat on my arm. Shes so chill and really wants you to love your results. I actually just left my 6 week touch up and Im even happier now than I was with the original! I have been here twice now! My mom and I got a beautiful hummingbird matching tattoo from Max. I also tried my luck with a get what you get tattoo and it came out beautiful! Max does great work and works with you to get the idea you’re exactly asking for. He takes his time and is light handed! The shop is also so clean!! I will be definitely be going back for more.

My wife and I took our daughter to get her first tat (we got ourselves one too while we were at it). The finished products were amazing and better than we could imagine. I’ve had Max do two tats on me, and I can’t recommend him enough. I had an idea for the second tat he gave me and talked to him about it, he took my idea and created a great piece that I absolutely love! The atmosphere is chill, and I like that. Max is definitely my go to guy and will continue to tell anyone wanting a tat to go see my guy!

My boyfriend and I went to get tattoos here and who knew wed end up being the first customers. I liked how max gave me ideas on sizing and fonts and making sure the focus was on the main part of the tattoo. the font looks better than the reference image so its unique. he was fast at what he did and he is dedicated to what he does and made sure we were feeling comfortable. we appreciate you max and we look forward to coming back!

I just got a tattoo done by Max over the weekend, (Saturday/Sunday). I was extremely happy with the results and the artwork he does! I gave him an idea of what I wanted, and what he came up with was amazing! My husband & I had a great experience here. Booking was super easy! About a week before our appointment, Tara reached out to me to start figuring out what our tattoo ideas were. She was extremely nice & even through text you could tell what a genuine bubbly person she was. The day of our appointment, we were texted again to make sure we didn’t have any questions beforehand. We found the location very easily. Inside the studio, it was very clean & welcoming. The artist, Max, instantly treated me like I was one of his friends. My husband got there before me & had already started. They had already connected really well prior to my arrival. Throughout the time we were there, Max was extremely professional & kind. My husbands tattoo idea wasn’t going to look the way he imagined & Max was very honest about how it might turn out over time. He was very patient with my husband & helped him pick something else that he would love. In the transition from my husband & I, Max cleaned & made sure everything was sanitary for my session. He went over my design & made sure he had understood exactly what I wanted. He has a super light hand but the tattoo was still dark & precise. He helped me with some ideas for the upper half of my sleeve while I was there & I 100% look forward to going back to work with him again. Overall, I think The Haus of Pain is a safe, clean environment with talented, professional, & genuine artists. If you’re looking to get a tattoo, I would highly recommend checking this place out.

Went to Max for my 2nd tattoo and had a great experience all-around. From the moment I reached out to Max he was friendly and responsive. As soon as I walked in the door I felt comfortable- with the shop itself and with Max. It is clean, tidy, and inviting- as a woman in there alone, it was nice to feel safe and welcome. I had sent Max an image of what I wanted and he had three different sizes ready for me to look at, he took the time to try them on me and let me know what he thought would look best on me, but ultimately, giving me the opportunity to chose for myself, with no pressure. Max is friendly and calm, and like someone elses post said above, he has a gentle touch, so it was a relaxing experience with very little discomfort during the process. I love the final product- it was exactly what I asked for! I will definitely go back to see Max when its time for my next tattoo.Only piece of advice: be sure to go to the address in LAFAYETTE, not WEST Lafayette... whoops! :)

I got matching tattoos with my sister and Max did an amazing job! We love how they turned out and would 100% go back to Max for more tattoos in the future! He made sure to explain everything to me and endured cleanliness and comfort for me and my sister. It was my sisters first tattoo and she was nervous but he made sure to check in on her often to ensure she got a break if she ever needed it.

Max is one of the best tattoo artists I have been to! He is very professional and makes the experience very laid back and pleasurable. I’m very happy with the two tattoos I have gotten done from Max. They healed perfectly with the after care treatment he suggested. Max has a super light hand which makes the pain very tolerable— considering I got a sternum tat I was in a very uncomfortable position, and Max was able to knock mine out in one hour. Super impressed & I will be back!

Max is phenomenal. The detail and line work is out of this world. He made my experience very personal, comfortable, and relaxed (I about nodded off a few times 😉). He made sure I was handling things well and broke up our lengthy session with small breaks. He even walked me to my car afterwards because my appointment ended pretty late 🥹The shop is private, which gives an “at home” feel, extremely clean, and well kept. And the decor! Top notch. It felt safe and welcoming the minute you walked in!Max was both professional and welcoming at the same time. He made sure what I was getting was EXACTLY what I wanted, placement was perfect, and did everything by the book. His attention to detail is honestly unmatched. We were able to openly joke and laugh with one another, but it never had that feeling of “we have to keep up small talk.” He encouraged me to close my eyes and just relax (after joking that this was my “kid free time”).All around incredible experience. I’ll absolutely be spending more time in Max’s chair!
