I had such a fantastic experience at Ad Astra! It was my first piercing in a long time and I was a bit nervous. A septum piercing seemed pretty intimidating but I’ve wanted one for years. Brett made it so fast and easy! He was so nice, calm, and did a great job explaining what was happening as he worked. It made the piercing way less intimidating and I left feeing awesome. Next time I get a piercing it’ll definitely be here! :)

Brett pierced our daughter’s ears and did an excellent job. The store is very clean and he is very knowledgeable. We will definitely have future piercings done here.

I love ad astra, I went there for first of many piercings and everyone who works there is so cool and it’s a really calming atmosphere I was super scared and they were super comforting about it and everything was extremely sterile and they have a super nice waiting room, and a very large selection of jewelry.

While the piercing itself was great, the jewelry was a bit pricey. This would have been fine with me, if not for the fact they were cheaply made and snagged on EVERYTHING and didn’t heal properly until I changed the jewelry. I’ve never been to a shop that didn’t have standard titanium jewelry with no up charge, so when I paid $45 per piece I was expecting high quality jewelry, not ones that I had to remove for the piercing to heal properly. I recommend going to Ace or BDC in Lawrence, much better and fair prices and just as talented piercers.

Came here a few years ago and got my belly button piercing while my SO at the time got his tongue pierced.Turns out I actually didn’t have the correct anatomy, and the piercer still proceeded to pierce my belly button. So this is a great place to go if other piercers refuse to do the piercing, but only if you’re okay with the piercing rejecting out of your body.

My experience at Ad Astra was amazing! The process was very quick and relaxing. So far my Piercing is healing perfectly and I will definitely be returning to get more soon!

I got my naval pierced here, I was so nervous but the piercer was excellent talked me thru everything and made me feel at ease, it was quick and painless like a lobe piercing and it healed beautifully! I went back and got my nose pierced by the same piercer and brought a friend with me and we both ended up very happy and they both healed amazingly I wouldn’t trust anyone else! 10/10!!! You guys are awesome!

My angel fangs were pierced unevenly and now there’s a chance I’ll have noticeable scars above my lip, it’s so sad cause I love the piercing but I can’t stand looking at one fang being lower and more shallow than the other. I’ve taken them out and I’m probably going to just get them completely re- pierced by a different piercer, I wish i could’ve at least got a refund for all the trouble and extra money this is going to cost me. I wouldn’t recommend getting angel fangs here.

I had a great first experience getting my nose pierced in Jan 2024. I went back in Feb 2024 for help with a prior helix piercing that I was having trouble with. Brett was knowledgeable and helpful with getting my helix resituated. Ad Astra is clean, sanitary, welcoming, and easy to schedule online. They also have a great selection of jewelry for all types of piercings. I highly recommend and will be back :)

I got my belly button pierced here about a year ago. I don’t remember the name of the man who did mine but he was very kind and did the piercing so quickly I barely felt it. You can tell he is very experienced and knows what he is doing! My piercing healed very nicely without any issues! I had an amazing experience here!

Ratings don’t lie with this shop. Got a septum and double lobe, Jewelry was all clean and looked so nice, Piecer even show sanitized items. Staff were so friendly and easy to talk to, as well as their own piercings, piercer even had a really nice pair of Gauges that looked epic. Took less time than expected and was nicely priced for how many I got plus saline and tip, would definitely recommend giving a tip because service 10/10. Def better than my last piercer in Vegas.

I got my nostril pierced here about a year ago. Its healed exceptionally well and I plan to return for future piercings.

They are amazing. I got my verticle labret and septum done. My daughter got her ear lobes pierced back in August 2023. Weve gone back a few times as walk ins to change and get new jewelry and they are amazing.Brett talked my daughter through step by step as he did everything and she said it was a way better experience than she thought she was going to have.

My husband and I both received piercings from Ad Astra, and we were very pleased with the experience. It was my first piercing and my husband’s fifth piercing. I was nervous. Their facilities are very clean. They are very thorough in walking customers through the process, which helped calm my nerves. On their walls, you will see their accreditation, which is also reassuring. In fact, my husband commented after we left, “That was the best piercing experience I’ve ever had. I highly recommend Ad Astra! This was my first non-ear piercing and I was a little nervous, but Eric was very friendly and talked me through the whole process. The shop was clean and I felt extremely comfortable here. If I ever decide to get another piercing, Ill be back here.

I came in to get a bridge, not ending up being able to get it because of my glasses. But they let me choose a vertical labret instead, and I love it! The man piercing me was very quick and to the point. I could not have asked for a better experience :)

Brett was amazing!!! I got a conch and a third lobe piercing. Super clean place, and everyone was really professional. They also have a great jewelry selection. Brett explained everything to me and made sure I was okay during the piercing. He also fit me in even though I was late, which was amazing. The place is really hard to find though, my Google maps made me go through an alley and it turned into this whole thing. So if possible I would make sure you know exactly where it is before your actual appointment.

Made an appointment online and got my helix pierced and my boyfriend got his ear lobes pierced and it was great! They were very knowledgeable and willing to help pick out jewelry. Everything was very clean and they put your jewelry in their autoclave and show you that they are completely sanitary before they pierce you. I plan on going back for more soon!

Chose this shop because the online appointment booking was so easy, but damn am I glad I did! Wonderful experience, couldnt name one negative. Both Brett and the gal working up front were extremely pleasant and helpful. Was a bit pricier than going elsewhere, but Im hoping the piercing reflects that. Everything was explained well, including sterilization, jewelry, and aftercare, and the process was super easy and nearly pain-free. Eyes barely even watered! Cant recommend them enough

Brett did an amazing job! He was very personable and made me getting my ears pierced less nerve wracking. It was quick and he talked me through the entire process. Really cool guy! The appointment was easy to set up and the shop is really clean. Additionally, they take all measures to ensure you are getting the highest quality piercing/jewelry. My friend and I got our septum’s done today at Ad Astra. We had a wonderful experience. The lady up front was very sweet and helped us pick out our jewelry. I can’t remember the piercers name but he was super chill. Made sure we got to see that everything was sterilized and clean before we got poked! We are hoping to go back sooner rather than later for some more piercings!

I don’t usually write reviews, but for this place I totally had to! Brett was absolutely amazing!! He was friendly, personable, flexible, and extremely knowledgeable. Shop was clean and sanitized. I got my conch and triple lobes, and it was as painless as I never could’ve imagined. I got my helix at a different piercing shop and the major difference in pain and healing I’ve experienced in just 2 days is amazing. Best experience ever, I will never go anywhere else for another piercing again!

Came it to start my gauge journey and get my cartilage re done from over 10years ago. Price was higher then expected but thats due to the jewelry, the receptionist was very pleasant and helpful. I had my piercing done by the Brett and he was very kind and knowledgeable. Everyone there made me feel comfortable and welcomed even after being 10 minutes late due to my own errors. If you have the coin I cant not recommend this place enough.

I was having trouble getting an eyebrow piercing back in after having it out for a few months. I called in and the lady was very nice and informative about what they could do. They said I should come in and they could look at it to give me better options. I showed up and the guy was able to get it back in in a few minutes. They were very helpful and nice. I would def recommend this place and will come back if I decide to get a new piercing! Thanks again Ad Astra! You guys were amazing!

This was honestly a wonderful experience. I got three piercings there last week. I was a little nervous when I got there, but everyone was able to walk me through the process in a very calming and understanding manner. I felt completely comfortable with everyone that was there. They showed me how they sanitized all of the products, and walked me through what I should expect during the piercing process. Will definitely come back!!!

***I DO NOT RECOMMEND***I took my daughter there for her 14th birthday and we bought three earrings all of them were 14K gold I think we spent around $500 maybe even more. Within eight weeks of having these piercings two of them fell out and I tried calling several times and nobody would call me back after I left several messages and finally I got a hold of somebody when I called in recently and they told me that there is nothing that they can do. I find this incredibly ridiculous, considering the amount of money that we spent just to have her lose, two out of three earrings with two months of getting the piercing. There should be some sort of guarantee on the work they do and what jewelry they put in. I can understand that earrings fall out, but to have two earrings within the first eight weeks of getting them pierced then them falling out is just simply ridiculous. Spend your money more wisely at a more professional piercing place.

My left ear lobe closed up about four years ago (and I wanted to get a second set of ear piercings) so I Googled and found this place. Word of advice, the place is either hard to miss or my ADHD was really bad. You will have to walk down some stairs, so it can be easy to miss if you’re expecting the place to be eye level.The place itself is really simple, very clean, and they know their stuff. Brett was really cool and chill. Made the process really enjoyable. Gave me all the instructions on aftercare (they also sell saline spray at the studio if you need it). Will definitely be back!

I went in with a friend, each to get a piercing. Brett was really friendly and helpful when Id gone in to recon the day before, and then he was excellent as our piercer! A great range of prices and styles of jewelry, with many unique options. They werent pushy about the more expensive jewelry nor rushing us in our choices, and genuinely wanted us to get what we liked for ourselves. Everything was very clean and sterile, and Brett was very professional and talked us through everything, but was also relaxed and pleasant to be around! All in all a really good complete piercing experience.

I had the BEST experience here today. The shop is so clean, and Brett is awesome! I got my bellybutton pierced and was pretty nervous, but by the time the piercing happened I was totally relaxed. I am an adult who got my earlobes pierced at Ad Astra almost two months ago. My experience with Brett was fantastic! Brett is extremely patient, kind, welcoming, and professional. I did a lot of research before scheduling. I called only two places here in town and AD Astra was the one that carried jewelry I could use. They got me in same day, had quality jewelry, and allowed me to bring one person with me! The gentleman that did my piercings was very personable and talked about everything I needed to know plus answered all my questions. The place was so clean!!! Definitely recommend and will be back.

My experience here was amazing! I got septum pierced here about a year ago and it was even less painful than a flu shot. Healing was easy and painless too. The piercer is PHENOMENAL and SO nice and sweet and professional. I just got my right nostril pierced today, and again, he was very professional. The piercing pain was very minimal, about 2 or 3 out of 10, and it only lasted a fraction ago a second, thanks to the skill and gentleness of the piercer. I am obsessed with both piercings and am so grateful to have a place like ADASTRA here!!!

They were awesome. Finally got my ears pierced after years. They answered all my questions. The studs are amazing quality. I told him I usually get a little anxious with needles and he helped me focus on breathing and chatted while I got pierced. So happy! Will return in the future for sure!

I highly recommend Chuck Householder at Ad Astra Piercing Co. Ive had many sessions with Chuck, my most recent being a week ago. I went in knowing I wanted a Sailor Jerry style tattoo and thats about it. Chuck talked through ideas and placement with me and I decided on a shark. He even pulled aspects of a couple different pieces together to create the perfect piece for me. Whether you know exactly what you want, or you only have an idea, Chucks your man. I went here for my first piercing. I was incredibly nervous, but Erik was amazing! He kept me calm throughout the experience and made sure I was comfortable. The jewelry was nice quality and the facility was sterile. Chuck(the tattoo artist), ensured you had a great experience as well! Me and my friend went to get some ear piercings and they were very helpful when choosing the jewelry. They also took time to explain the sterilizing which was appreciated, I had 2 done and my friend had 1, we were in and out within 30 minutes, all without rushing anything. The piercer was very enthusiastic and his energy was contagious! It really helps to relieve some anxiety and nervousness when your piercer is relaxed, professional, and happy to see you. The prices were reasonable for the quality of the jewelry and was way cheaper for the piercing itself than I expected it to be. I will for sure come here again if I ever get another piercing. The only trouble was finding parking but that is no fault of theirs, simply Lawrence on a Saturday.

Its been about a month since my piercings at Ad Astra. My piercings are healing up better than anything ive gotten in the past. I was very impressed with the cleanliness, expertise, and kindness of the team there. You can tell the owner really knows what he is doing! Great jewelry to choose from--a little pricy, but worth every cent. Highly recommend.

This review is not directed to the owner at all. It is about one of his employees. she’s got brown hair and 2 nose piercings. She likes to call me out on social media and threaten to cancel my appointments and say “did she steal this money she’s gonna pay with??”. yes it is a bit personal, we have a past, but i’ve heard she’s very judgmental and rude to other people that walk in there. The owner is extremely nice and kind but his employee has a disgusting attitude.

I stopped by the shop today because one of my cartilage piercings was starting to embed into my ear. Brett examined my ear, found a longer post, and switched it out in under ten minutes. The customer service was excellent, the store is very sterile, and the jewelry is high quality. I will definitely be going back! Thanks again!

I went to get two helix piercings and an upper lobe piercing on the right year, and I got the same done on the left year about a month later. The service was wonderful. The people were chill and respectful. I was mostly comfortable (I have social anxiety, so that is really saying something). My parents came with me for the first ear because it was a Christmas present. I must say that the piercer endured the dad jokes dutifully -Lol . It has been almost a year now and my piercings have healed beautifully. I think I’m done with piercings for the moment, but if I ever got pierced again I would definitely return to Ad Astra Piercing Company.

I went here on June 20th. I had decided (after having a previous piercing that did not heal well from somewhere else and then having it close up) that I wanted to get a new cartlige/helix piercing. I was nervous but the employee (either Erik or Brett I do not remember sorry) assured me all was well. He was very nice and the atmosphere was welcoming. Brett at Ad Astra Piercing Co. is absolutely fantastic! I took my 10 year old daughter there today to get her ears pierced. Brett is very professional and friendly and the shop is bright, welcoming and clean. (And yay for the Keurig coffee corner!) I don’t normally do reviews but I was so pleased with my experience at Ad Astra Piercing Co. that I just had to. The owner who did my piercing was very professional and personable. Everything was done using sterile equipment. And the jewelry is of the highest quality. I am beyond impressed and would recommend them over anywhere else in Lawrence.

I was nervous about getting my nose pierced again, but Brett was so nice and very professional! They have beautiful jewelry to choose from and the prices are fair. I will be going back for my next piercing!

I was able to walk in and get both my ears double pierced. The piercer was patient as I decided what jewelry I wanted and explained thoroughly the sterilization process for the needles/equipment. I never felt uncomfortable at any moment, he answered any questions I had and I felt knowledgeable about how to care for my new piercings afterwards. If I want any more piercings, I will definitely return here.

The person who helped me had a great attitude, but maybe too much so. They were very salesman like, which led me my bad experience. You see, I purposely went to a highly reviewed shop to change my new helix piercing. This was because I wasnt sure how to detect different gauge sizes, and wanted to make sure I got the same size so that my piercing wouldnt shrink or anything. However, I asked and made sure that they knew my concerns, and they confirmed it was the same size. However, I later found out from my original piercing shop (back in MN) that it was a 16G and this shop gave me a 18G. They were great otherwise, but this just left a bad taste in my mouth, especially because it was the whole reason I came here.

Brett did an excellent job at all stages of the process. He made sure we had the right form for my 7 year old daughter to get her ears pierced. Walked her through picking out jewelry, and was SO great when it came to the actual piercings. She said he made the piercing hurt way less than she expected.

Very new, but a great addition to Lawrence that Ive been waiting for since moving here in August! Smaller, but highly reminiscent of KCs Supernatural Body Piercing. This being local is awesome! The piercer was friendly, the process straightforward, and honestly this is probably the best of all my (several) piercing experiences I fully intend to go back for my future piercings as soon as I can fit it into my schedule!

Super clean and reasonably priced! They make sure to let you know about the health and quality of what they offer. The jewelry might seem a little expensive but their standard is implant-grade titanium. For the ball they had a cute opal jewel I chose. Piercer showed a sanitization test that was put into a cleaning machine with my jewelry to show that it worked. Daith piercing was not pain free, but it was over in a second.

I got my bridge and labret pierced here, he was very honest and took his time walking me through every part of the process. It was also very affordable and their standard for jewelry is implant grade titanium so you dont have to worry about allergies. PLEASE GO HERE IF YOU NEED A GOOD PIERCING IN LAWRENCE. My piercer took the time to explain the process, sanitation, and after care to me which really made me feel comfortable going in, will most definitely be returning and I recommend this place to anyone looking to get a piercing with great quality jewelry.

Really friendly people. There was plenty of jewlery to choose from. The check-in was simple. No wait. Same with the piercings. Brett did a great job with answering questions. Very clean facility!

I was able to schedule an appointment the same day I decided to get my nipples pierced. Brett was very professional and explained the sterilization process. Walked me through the painful nature of that particular piercing and prepared me well.

I can’t recommend this place enough. The environment is comfortable, clean, and professional. Brett kindly answered all of my questions and was very nice and knowledgeable. The whole experience was really good! He was super accommodating and explained how everything works and helped with the jewelry and didn’t try to over charge us for anything! Very genuine and made sure that we were ok afterwards and gave us a soda to make sure that we had enough sugar!

Place is good overall it’s just this is my second time coming in and the lady at the front is never kind when I ask simple questions. It’s not the first time I experienced that but I thought I’d give it another shot. Brett was so kind though in helping me change my nose ring !

Got an industrial piercing about a year ago and asked specifically to get a 14g as there is not a lot of jewelry made for 16g industrials. I was told that would be okay and that I would get the 14g. After waiting for it to heal (took me just over a year) I find out that I was given a 16g. This is incredibly frustrating as I bought jewelry for a 14g and it does not fit.

Went in and bought a pair of earrings for a gift for Valentines Day. I was told that I would be allowed to return them if they were not the correct ones and they had not been worn. I was never told that I would NOT be allowed to return them or I would not have purchased them for $70. When I called to set up a time to return them, not only was it very difficult to get ahold of the business, but when I did, they told me that I could not return them and that they would NEVER tell a customer that it would even be possible to make a return when they had blatantly told me that that would be okay to do because it was a gift.I know you say: You cant return and there was not a misunderstanding. You stood right there as we walked out the door and we said, If these are not the ones he wants we will be returning them. You never said NO returns and lead us to believe we could return with no problems. You have no posting of NO returns and your receipt does not say NO returns.

I highly recommend going in to get pierced by Brett! He goes above and beyond when explaining the process and how to keep your piercing clean while healing. I dont think I couldve had a better experience!

Went in to change a piercing and they gave me the wrong jewelry I asked for, plus the piercer didn’t even clean the area or earring before switching it out. The girl at the front was just unpleasant. I’ve been to better places and won’t be back, and I recommend you find a different one too.

This place is great! i went there to get a helix and my second lobe. he explained everything very clear. he also didn’t try to make you get the most expensive earrings there were, instead he told you what it was, and let you choose 100% on your own.
