Red 5 Tattoo

I don’t usually write reviews but I just had for this shop! I have been to two tattoo places and this one is my favorite by far. Stanley was my tattoo artist and he was phenomenal!I was looking over the Google reviews, his social media, and Red 5’s social media and his artistry really stood out to me so I booked a consultation with him. It was short and brief but he knew everything that I wanted and when I came two weeks later to look at the sketch I was floored. It looked so good I can not compare it to any tattoo I’ve seen online for my references. He fixed the eye for me because I wanted the octopus to be mean but he gave no fuss and just said okay.Anyway, day of my appointment was fantastic. This is my first time getting a big tattoo and I definitely will not be getting anymore any time soon, but Stanley was great. He let me take as many breaks as I needed and wanted me to be comfortable during the entire process which was about 4 and a 1/2 hours.It came out realistic and I just love it.The other men in the tattoo shop were very nice, too. So I wouldn’t mind booking with one of them either.Book with Stanley!

Ive now gotten two tattoos at Red5, one from Stanley, and one from T, and have another scheduled this Saturday. First off, I love the pride that the artists take in creating a comfortable and safe environment, and the care shown to their clients. The shop is kept clean and all tools are sterile. Scheduling was easy, and the prices are reasonable.

Got a tattoo from Blackmouse. Very time efficient and healed well! He does great of coming up with a design out my ideas! Ive had 2 tattoos done here and will be back for more!

I had T as my artist and he did an amazing job! He is very detailed with his work and makes sure the client leaves satisfied. He provided a very chill atmosphere and made sure I liked the positioning before he started. Would 100% recommend T and Red 5 to anyone who is thinking about getting work done here!

Love love love !!! This place is definitely a comfortable and enjoy place to have a first tattoo.It’s clean through every aspect , tools, floor, couch, tables, walls. It smells CLEAN when u walk in, all the artists are super friendly and are happy to help you get what YOU WANT.Meeting Black Mouse for my sons tattoo was a experience we planned for a detailed flower for my son, pictured on stencil, there was an incident with my own personnel , I went out like a light switch, not only did he immediately move all his gear away from the table to reduce injury, MAN MADE SURE I was alright AND his coworker stationed next door also jumped in to help him out. I went back very soon for my second one of my butterflies.. no hesitation. Safety and feelings comfortable is a must for a key tattoo experience.I opted to keep it a clean sketch of the flower but I will probably get the shading done very soon 🤝🏻Overall, this store is amazing through there line work, there ability to truly communicate with there clients is truly impressive and there ability to nail what u want to T. I will always choose blkmse for my tattoos.

Very talented tattoo artists. The service is great as well. The place is very clean and the couches are so comfortable. I highly recommend booking an appointment here. This piece was done on my birthday, best gift so far!

Setting up the appointment was quick and easy. My artist blackmouse.ink was great to work with and was able to give me the detail i wanted on my piece. Price for my piece was also reasonable.

Red 5 tattoo is my go-to establishment when needing new ink & T (@blackmouse.ink on instagram) never disappoints. my last three pieces have been done by him & they are my favorites out of the 12 i have. i recommend T to everyone who is interesting in new ink & looking for a new & talented artist.T did the two koi fish, my xxxtentacion ‘17’ & as well as my spine tattoo.

My husband received a pin up tattoo from T and absolutely loves it! He has been to several artists and shops and this was by far his favorite. Great place, great artist and awesome tattoo!

This was my second tattoo at Red 5 but first larger piece and really first large tattoo Ive had in my life. To say this was an amazing experience would be an understatement. Stanley took his time during the initial consult to truly understand what I was trying to capture and the design was beyond anything I could have ever imagined and extremely unique. The detail, the color, he is an amazing artist that takes pride in his work and doesnt cut any corners. The facility is clean, vibrant, upbeat and he made my experience absolutely fantastic. I will be back in weeks for yet more work. In a world where there are many options and places to get work done, Stanley will be my forever go to going forward for any work that I have done.

I cannot recommend Stanley and Red 5 Tattoo enough! A friend of mine recommended I reach out to Stanley about a small tattoo I was hoping to get done on my right forearm. He responded within 24 hours and found a time to work me into his schedule the next day when there was a block of time open. Being that Im someone who has minimal experience with tattoos, I was a pretty nervous and anxious. Stanley made me feel so comfortable and put my anxieties at ease. Not only is his calm demeanor and kind spirit superior, but his artistic eye is, too. I brought two different inspo pieces into the shop and he merged them together to create a drawing that is more beautiful than I could have hoped! Such a great tattoo shop. the process from the consultation to getting the actual tattoo has been wonderful! I felt heard and my artist Issac came up with an amazing concept that incorporated everything I wanted in my tattoo. He took my sketch and perfected it! The tattooing itself was seamless. He was very light handed and communicative with me about the design, process, and overall if I needed any breaks he was accommodating. I met the owner Stanley in passing and he was very warm and nice as well, asking if I needed anything and making sure I was doing ok. Such a great tattoo shop I can’t wait to get my next one!

Seymour has done 4 of my tattoos and plan for him to do the rest of mine. I have never been more than happy with them. Amazing artist, was able to free hand a snake across my arm. We were visiting some friends in Lawrence (July 2019) and drove all of the way from Phoenix, AZ. We all decided to get tattoos together and dropped into Red 5 on a whim. Best. Decision. Ever. Seymour was so professional, patient and his work is incredible. He provided us with such a great experience that we still talk about driving back to get more tattoos to this day. Red 5 Tattoo is my favorite place to get tatted! I have gone to Seymour for four pieces (3 black and grey, 1 color) and he has killed it every time. I always get compliments on my tattoos. A few of my friends go to him as well and LOVE his work. He is always respectful and kind + his artwork is incredible! I will always highly recommend Seymour.

Stanley was fabulous. Very professional as well as laid back. Made me feel comfortable through out the several hours I was in the chair by always asking me how I was doing and if I needed anything. He was extremely nice and very sociable so it made the time go really fast. His shop is really nice and extremely clean. This was my first big tattoo so I was a little nervous and anxious going in but I shouldnt have been because everything went so smooth and Stanleys work is truly phenomenal.

I got a gorgeous sketch tattoo of a Raven with water color type coloring on my arm. It’s such a gorgeous tattoo and I’m utterly impressed with the attention to detail that Stanley put into this piece. The shop is clean an fun to be in and all of the artists there are nice and welcoming. I will absolutely be recommending them as well as patronizing them again, myself, in the future!

Stan has done every tattoo of mine since I moved to Kansas. I recommend Red 5 to all of my friends. His work is spectacular and glad we could get the most recent, a sleeve, completed before I moved out of state. The rest of the crew does amazing work too.

Went in with Stanley to get what I wanted to be two original designs. Paid him extra for it and waited 3 months. Since he never contacted me in the 3 month waiting period(like he told me he would), the designs he had originally were NOTHING like what I had asked for. When I told him that, he stole two new designs off the Internet and passed them off as his own work.If you’re going to go here, go to anyone but Stanley, especially if you want something original.

Can’t say enough about Seymour at Red 5. Not only was his delicate line work impeccable, but he was SO kind and professional. My mom, sister and I went in for matching small crescent moon tattoos. My mom was still on the fence, but after seeing how nice and professional Seymour was, and how clean Red 5 was, she was totally confident enough to get the tattoo. I’m going back to him for all my others!

Not your average tattoo shop. A rare gem in Lawrence. Clean as a surgical suite - no tacky wall full of me-too tattoos. I am very impressed with how they are managing Covid safely while continuing to provide excellent customer service. Response to emails is timely and thorough.

This guy Stan Farmer is one of a kind. He turned my garbage tattoos into a one of a kind piece of art. I had three terrible tattoos an I went to Stan for advice. He successfully covered them up with brilliant astonishing works of art. I still get compliments on the vibrant colors an detail he put into my tattoos still after 15 years. Ive gotten my last 2 tattoos here with Stanley, and both were a wonderful experience. The first tattoo was a new tattoo and the second was a touch up and expansion of a previous tattoo. The designs were just what I wanted and I love them

Since the first time he tatted me I havent let anyone else put ink in my skin. This shop is very clean and fair in price. I joined the team of excellent artists at Red5Tattoo about a week and a half before we were shut down due to the current Coronavirus pandemic. We were shut down for months. We have reopened and instilled new safety-measures via the pandemic, for our safety and that of our clients/the community in general. New to tattoos, I was very anxious about this one. It was inspired by a tawny emperor butterfly that landed on my hand in the evening when I was home from the hospital where my mom was getting a bone marrow transplant. I didnt know if I would hate it on my wrist. I worried that it would look like a generic butterfly and not *my* butterfly. I worried that the beautiful browns and oranges would not come through. Boy, was I wrong.Stanley created a fantastic work of art on my arm. It is a detailed and accurate representation of my butterfly. The shading makes it look realistic. I love it and cant stop staring! Its just perfect. A wonderful memorial for my mom.

I got a tattoo back in October, of 2021. It was great! It was a small tattoo so I was in and out in only about an hour. Tattoo looks great, very little pain. I love my tat I recommend Red 5 to everyone :)

I had a amazing experience! This was my first tattoo and I just did a walk in. I told my artist what I want and gave me a beautiful design. Everyone was super nice and it was very clean, I will be going again.

Called them to ask about getting a few tattoos the guy on the phone was very short and did not answer my question. He said I needed to email my designs to the website. I did so shortly after the conversation never got a call or email back. Tried to follow up the next day and still never heard from them.... All of that could have easily been explained in my original phone call, but again I got very little communication.

What an amazing tattoo shop! They are more profession than any other tattoo shops I’ve been to. Rita is soooo nice and gentle, Stanley is a real gentleman and artist.

This was the ONLY shop who answered me didnt lose my references and talked with me while trying to design a thigh piece. The artist was so wonderful to work with and even brought some cool ideas to the table. I loved working with him and my thigh piece is amazing.

My daughters both have tatoos by this artist and 15 yrs. Later they still have great color. His shop is wonderful. I have been following his progress online. I highly recomend him.

Don’t go here! They were extremely rude and because of that I decide to got else were to get my tattoo done. Down the street at Miller tattoo, they were way more welcoming and had a 10x better attitude.

I wish I could actually review an actual tattoo but the 1st time I went I was turned away because the cover up guy wasnt there. Today, their website, google, and door sign said they open at 12. Waited an entire hour and still no one is there.
