Jose was super friendly, and the environment was super welcoming. He was also super accommodating and got me in last minute for an impulse tattoo, which is why I hate that I can’t rate this place higher, but unfortunately the quality of the tattoo just isn’t there. The line work isn’t clean, the ink is falling out, there are a number of blowouts, the lettering is inconsistent, etc. To be fair, the design that I chose wasn’t easy, but there are certain fundamental elements of the tattoo that just aren’t executed well. The photos below are from right after and then what the tattoo looked like 2 weeks healed. There were also some definite health hazards, that in all fairness, I willingly ignored and sat for the tattoo, despite knowing better. I was lucky that I didn’t get an infection, but I definitely would risk it, and go back again. All in all, great environment, Jose was super friendly and accommodating, but there were numerous health hazards and the quality of the tattoo for the price just isn’t there.*edit: the biggest health hazard was that he didn’t wrap the tattoo bench that he was working on then promptly placed my freshly tattooed arm down onto the leather.

My mom and I went in for matching tattoos for her birthday and Chelsea did a great job! Everyone in the shop were really friendly and very talkative with me since this was my first tattoo. Definitely coming back for my birthday tattoos!

I’m visiting Lexington and really wanted to get my next tattoo done and definitely found the right place! Mars did a fantastic job and was so easy going. It was well priced and turned out great. Would highly recommend.

My friend and I were walk ins, and Jose was so amazing and nice! It was my second tattoo, but my friend’s first one and he made sure she was very comfortable and kept reassuring her. He has a very light hand and his line work and detail is so impressive! I’m definitely going to be back and am recommending him and LexInk to everyone who’s interested in tattoos.

Jose did an amazing job on my tatooes and my sisters, who got her 1st tattoo at 52! The office was clean, the atmosphere was great. My friend and I came through to get some fresh ink. I wanted to get a new tattoo that could get incorporated with my precious hip tattoo and they made it to work! The place was great, super chill, and have amazing artwork.

Amazing work! Jose does great detail. We called and were in within an hour. I had a general idea of what I wanted and Jose worked his magic and made something incredible. He is not heavy handed and i had no pain at all. I loved the chill environment and music. Overall, a great experience. This is my go to for all my future tattoos.

I got my first tattoo here about 2 years ago. The artist did great work on my arm and it was great priced. The people in there are genuine and help for a more comfortable environment. I messaged him a few days ago about getting a touch up because of it being a 2 year old tattoo he responded almost immediately and had me scheduled to come in the next day. I definitely would recommend to other people as I already have and they all loved the tattoos they have got also.

Jose was amazing, he took very good care of me and my friend. He was very friendly and easy to talk to!! Made the experience a lot easier and less nerve racking. Highly recommend this place to anyone getting a tattoo for the first time or for anyone getting another one!

Me and my friends wanted to get last minute matching tattoos before our friend moves away. Chelsea was able to get us all in as walk ins and she did a fantastic job! It was a very comfortable environment and all around a great experience. I will be going back for more tattoos by her in the future. 10/10 recommend!

Talk about great job and great guy! Jose took amazing care of myself and my friend who both came to get two, short-notice tattoos. He was welcoming and comforting, which went a long way because it was my friend’s first tattoo, and he did a great job with her two small pieces. Not heavy handed and no digging at all, so even her small rib piece wasn’t too bad on her. I myself got a neck/head piece and a rib piece and he flew through those with precise and clean line work, making good conversation the whole time. At the end, he gave us an amazing deal, and really took care of us. I’ll definitely be back next time I’m in Lexington and thinking about a new piece

I had an amazing experience! The moment I walked in the door I was greeted with great hospitality by Chelsea and Jose. Chelsea was super warming and very easy to talk too. Just got my first tattoo here! Mars and José were great to work with; very fun and respectful guys. My best friend and I came in with a vague idea of what we wanted and Mars sat down and pieced together an original design for us. Their artwork is beautiful and they were very kind the entire time. My friends and I came in last night for tattoos very last minute, but they stayed open to take care of us and made sure we got what we wanted. Jose did mine and it turned out great! I got my first tattoo here. I am from out of town and loved my experience. Super friendly on the phone and loved the relaxed environment. I was super nervous but after talking with my artist and coming up with the design I was completely comfortable. I got my tattoo back in July and it still looks just as good as when I first got it. The experience at this place was amazing Mars was very professional and nice. He sanitized his work station right in front of us. Although I did not get a tattoo my girlfriend and my friend did and we had an awesome experience. It was their first one, and Mars did an awesome job. Jose was also there to keep us company and talk to us! They were great guys and the tattoos were good as well. I highly recommend.

First of all, I would say without a doubt very clean, welcoming, and good pricing on tattoos if your a new individual or not! I got a suggestion from a friend of mine and went in and came out with two amazing and detailed pieces on my arm and just under my left chest peck. They have good and reasonable hours of operation and parking is free which makes things much easier and helpful. I would recommend ANYONE to go to this shop and talk with Jose or his partner for tattoos! Dont miss out - great shop, ideas, and people as a whole.

Got a wonderful tattoo there tonight with a friend. Our artists were Mars and José. Super friendly and interesting conversation. Very respectful and we felt comfortable there. The art work itself was an original that Mars designed from some of our ideas. He made it better than I could have imagined. 10/10 would visit again. Extremely sanitary with their tools as well.

Me and my little sister came here and got our tattoos. She got her first tatto here and it’s amazing and I searched online for a good place to my first one and decided on here. She got her second and I got my first by Austin and he is absolutely amazing!! I mean I told him what I wanted he had it drawn up and it was perfect first try from what I described and when he was doing the tattoo it didn’t hurt at all, which shocked me for real cause I expected at least a little pain cause it was close to my neck. We did come in at 2 as walk ins tho and was asked to come back at 830 and then had to wait in line when we came back as well but that’s only because both of the artists are very good and very popular. And it was definitely worth the extra drive back and the wait to get it.We were the last 2 customers of the evening and talked with Austin the whole night while he did the tattoos all the way through lock up.All in all a extremely pleasant place and environment and enjoyable and friendly staff that will actually sit and talk to you about what you want how you want it where to place it and everything.They got it covered. Would recommend to anyone.

I saw my friend get his first tattoo here with no intention of getting my own but I ended up deciding to get 2! I love them & it was such a good first tattoo experience. Mars did a great job. You can tell he really cares about the quality of his work. I’ll probably end up coming back for a third at some point!

Jose and the staff were welcoming and kins. I am 45 and this was my first tattoo. I explained my concern of having a low pain tolerance. Jose and the staff listened and told me what to expect. My 3 daughters and I visited Joses shop inside Greyline Station on a Sunday evening for matching tattoos. He stayed late to accommodate us and was so kind. Half of us were first-timers, but he was reassuring and made us feel comfortable.

This shop is a major disappointment. His prices are way to high for his quality of work. We had gone to get a tattoo from him and when we left he called and asked if we stole his iPhone. His work is poor. Very misleading information was provided. He did my nieces tattoo and when she tried to ask a question or tell him a spot he missed from the design and stencil he ignored her. DO NOT RECOMMEND AT ALL!

The owner Jose did my butterfly tattoo and I absolutely love it! Lexink was very clean and smelled good too. Jose was hilarious and was such a great guy! I will definitely be back to get more soon!!!

You know as someone who says they’ve been in the tattoo business for 10-12years the amount of unprofessional things that was done here was ungodly. I got a tattoo here like 2 weeks ago and the price didn’t met up with the quality I got. First I paid $200 for a very simple tattoo with the smallest bit of shading, the shading was done with a liner needle. There is a big difference in the different size needles and when doing shading the liner needle is not what you go for🤦‍♀️. He took like 30 mins to do the tattoo cause another client showed up and he obviously rushed to get to him. Oh and I had to wait a full hour before I even got to get my tattoo cause he took another client before me even tho I showed up on time. I texted the girl later that night and told her I wasn’t very happy with the tattoo, she was a lot nicer than the tattoo artist. Who got rude when I said I could understand it was probably a long day and I that he was hot, due to the building not having air conditioning yet.

I was a walk in the other night for my first tattoo and was treated promptly and in such an amazing looking shop! My tattoo artist gave me great line work at an unbeatable price and was welcoming to my questions about aftercare. Definitely going back for any other tattoos I want.

Lex Ink tattoo is the best place in Lexington to get a tattoo! The environment is so inviting, and welcoming. MARS did 2 tattoos for me and they look phenomenal!! The first tattoo MARS did was the balance scale, it turned out so clean and the lines were so crisp. The second tattoo was the moon phases and he did exceptionally well, in total freestyle! Hes a very talented artist, his work is outstanding!

Came to lexink to get a tattoo honoring my dog that passed, the guys here were so welcoming! They joked with us and everything. Boogie did my tattoo and he made it look so much better than i could have imagined! I was a walk in but i didnt have to wait very long at all and most of that wait was the lady drawing the design up. Im more than pleased with every part of this experience! Definitely coming back again for more! Not to mention they gave me a great price!

LexInk is the place to go. Called Jose sunday afternoon and they had me in my girlfriend in a chair by 8 that night. Mars, Boogie, and Jose are all 3 awesome. Walked in with a rough idea of what I wanted and Mars did his thing! Sketched up exactly what I wanted. The atmosphere here is great and they guys are even better. They are meticulous about there work and did not let us down. My girlfriend worked with boogie and he redesigned a piece she found on the internet that would work on her small body type. These dudes are awesome. Highly recommend going to check these guys out if your in need of a wicked tattoo. Could be more pleased!

Came in from out of town (Florida) after reading such positive reviews about this place. And let me say they did not disappoint!! The artist was able to do exactly what I envisioned and was very patient with the area that I chose to get tattooed (my hip which took him an extra amount of time) I highly recommend and will return if I am ever back in town!! :)

I scheduled an appointment this morning to get matching tattoos with my sister who is moving to Florida. Showed up and no one was in the shop, called a few times got rejected, texted with no response. That is bad business. Will never ever use them again. Can’t run a business like that! Very mad I wasted my time driving across town.

Jose did a great job. I was a little worried about the pain I would experience on the chest area however he was very gentle with the needle. Tatoo turned out great and I will definitely go back for my next tatoo. The lady that did my dDaughters tatoo also did an awesome job. Highly recommended Lexink!!!

All these tattoos look like scratcher work.Reply to owner: Ive gotten plenty of tattoos only by the best of the best here in Louisville. I know what quality tattoos look like. I cant help but notice the shaky line work on most of these tattoos along with weird placements with no flow with the body part. but hey what do I know? 🤷🏽‍♂️

Soooo, this spot is s 2 for 1. you can get a tattoo and a haircut in one location. I didnt opt in for a tattoo, but I brought my son and grandson in for a haircut. Of course my son is grown so took it like a champ, but my grandson, well, he cried the whole time. Jose was super patient with him and got the job done great! The location new and super clean. If I ever get a tattoo, I will let you know about that, but dont expect a review any day soon, lol :)

Shame on this shop. The first bad review I’ve ever written in my life. After calling and consulting about walk ins, my bf and I decide to go here for his birthday tattoo. As I walked in, the employee we had been in contact with before hand was already talking to my bf and his mother. They seemed off put so I asked what happened and this man literally to said it smells like body odor as soon as they came in. I was like wow that’s rude! And another employee in the middle of a tattoo did apologize at that point even tho it wasn’t him being rude or offensive. I don’t even feel the need to defend our hygiene but I will say that comment was not only out of line and unprofessional but inaccurate. At this point I’m not sure if he even cares enough to give a quality tattoo, considering the lack of respect from the moment we walked in. We showed him what we wanted and his price quote was outrageous!!Offended and upset by all of this we left, of course.Now here’s the kicker. They had the audacity to reach out via text to “apologize”. It started with “sorry lol” ending with a comment about how cleanliness is important to them..(Check out yelp for a screenshot of the convo)Note the shop we chose afterwards has gone above and beyond with sanitation and health precautions, along with great customer service.we left feeling offended and I personally feel awful because what was supposed to be something special for my bf’s bday turned into an unbelievable encounter. I think it hurt everybody’s feelings.we found an awesome and very professional shop and got our tattoos there, and I am grateful we chose To The Grave Tattoo instead.

We made appts on Tuesday this week. To have tattoos done that would have cost $1500.He was a no show. Tried calling and sending messages with no response. Not reliable. We live :45 away.

I came in late on a Sunday night and jose worked past closing time and did my tattoo for me.. Its amazing Im very happy with it, ive wanted it for years and everyone talks me out of rib tattoos especially artists but not him! I think its badass and will be coming back for sure.

Edited review below.... Tried to walk in @12:45p. Place locked up, no answer when you call, no signs anywhere showing any altered hours and their website says nothing about being closed today. Charmed Life was having a flash event, didnt want anything they were doing, walked around the corner to this spot and completely dark.Edited to a 1 star based on their snarky response. Ive never seen a business not answer a phone, have an outgoing voice message, or have every employee take a lunch break at the same time of day. I currently work in a medical clinic and worked retail for more than a decade. It doesnt behoove a business to snipe at a could be customers.Im not sure who youve got running your online relations, but you may want them to work on their response to individuals with whom a situation mightve been repaired and altered toward a more positive review. Especially since theres other reviews from walk-ins and how great their experiences were. Not to mention I walked into a shop (#AnyShop) later that day and got exactly what I asked for, had a fantastic experience and they will have my business from here out.

Had them do a tat for me about my son . it took over 2 weeks to do half of the tat and it still isnt done , everyday i ask to get it finished they never have any open space. So i paid for half of a tat not done. Also the guy shaved my arm dry so my wholr arm has razor burn up it witb the new half tat.Thanks so much ya rightBad business guy

The dude was on his phone half the time not keeping his hands sanitary. Did a horrible job on the line work and shading. My tattoo is currently infected. Very unsanitary place and unprofessional. I will never go back again.
