Almost Famous Body Piercing

My daughter and I got nose piercings done 3 years ago and had an awesome experience with friendly, knowledgeable, and professional techs. Since then, both of us had to go back in for tapering and jewelry replacement... Our own fault... and they were fantastic for that too... And today Tianna was just about to go to break and I felt bad asking her for 10 minutes to fix my jewelry, which she did!! Thank you!! Also, I have a combined total of 13 years experience working in surgery and sterile processing and I watch their techniques and I cannot find fault! Yall are fun and amazing and I appreciate you ❤️

Worst experience ever. I got a snake piercing on my tongue from Tiana in June. She was extremely rude the entire time. I mentioned that the bar was lopsided and too small. She basically told me I didn’t know what I was talking about because my tongue was swollen and will get more swollen then had the manager look at it. The manager said that it should be okay. So I just paid nd left. Out of my 9 calls 1 was answered and when I explained my discomfort I was told that I was still healing and my tongue was just swollen. Now it’s the middle of September and my tongue still hurts and the piercing is stuck.

I came here to get a bellybutton piercing since the old place I was going to seemed run down and my usual piercer said she wouldn’t do it (I know, I was 16). it seemed much cleaner than the last place which I was very happy about and the staff was friendly, but my piercing went terribly wrong. my piercer had irritation bumps on their piercings, which I sadly only noticed as they were piercing me. I definitely didn’t have the right anatomy and they should’ve turned me away. on top of that, it was pierced crooked. it started rejecting and I have a terrible scar from it. also, I don’t believe I had titanium grade jewelry. luckily, I’ve learned much more about piercings and can make better decisions for myself.

Checked this place out on 6/23, very clean and welcoming. Next day I went back with my husband and got two piercings. Very happy, great experience and I got to see my husband more nervous about the pain than I was, which helped lol.Maggie was my piercer and I will be calling ahead next month to get her again for lip piercings.UPDATE:On 8/15 I went back for the lip piercings that Ive been wanting for years! Again I got to have Maggie be my piercer! And I received a another 5/5 star experience, Maggie made it a low stress piercing just like my first. Only a pinch of pain the first few seconds and some discomfort from swelling but Ive had no pain since!!! Ive been telling all my friends all about Almost famous :) Im hoping to bring them here at some point this fall.Thank you for making these wonderful memories!!!

They had a great piercer who obviously left for a reason since not even a week after she left they decided to fire all of their other employees… nice job guys not at all professional. Not even the jewelry they buy is quality. Will never be going here again and you shouldn’t either. I’d recommend literally ANYWHERE else…**REPEAT SINCE THEY OPENED AGAIN! DONT GO HERE FOR ANYTHING!!!**

Got a bad daith done. Think she hit a blood vessel, bled for half a day. Ended up in the emergency room, they stopped the bleeding but my ear filled with scab so the next day I had to get it flushed in the urgent care. Everyone I talk to tells me it’s in the wrong spot completely n that’s why it won’t settle into the ear. I’m going somewhere else this weekend to get one done properly. I don’t recommend this place unless you like bleeding and wasting your hard earned money.

I’ve been in this location about a year ago and had a great experience. Recently though, every time I come by the store is locked with a sign on the door saying “no piercer today”. At some point they need to just mark the location closed until they figure out what they’re doing. Three separate trips wasted, including parking, because they can’t bother to update their hours online or have a message that indicates they’re not open when you call.If you want to get pierced at Almost Famous, go to MOA and ask for Sam.

I got my bridge and medussa done today and had a really great experience. The staff was so friendly and helpful, and my piercer Brittany did an amazing job. The placement and symmetry is perfect on both of them. The process itself was quick and relatively painless. Ive never recieved aftercare products from anywhere Ive gotten pierced, but they also provided me with aftercare products! They definitely went above and beyond to make sure my experience would be a good one. Best place Ive ever gotten piercings and jewelry from, and Ill definitely be back.Oh and they also have a great selection of jewelry as well.

All the staff are kind and amazing!! It’s worth the wait, and they have a great variety of jewelry that the MOA didn’t have.Eren did a great job with my piercings, they were very gentle and kind throughout the whole process. I am definitely coming back just to have them do my piercings every time I want something new.

I love going here and have gotten 5 out of 11 of my piercings from Almost Famous. The staff is incredibly kind and talented at piercing and finding the perfect placement for your new piercings. I have never had any issues with my piercings until now though. I got flat and helix piercings done four days ago. However, yesterday I experienced the beginning signs of an infection on my helix: swelling, pain, and redness. My whole ear ended up being swollen in a matter of hours. I went to urgent care as soon as it opened and they diagnosed me with Cellulitis and I was prescribed oral antibiotics. Unfortunately they had to remove the piercing due to the swelling being so severe. It has been extremely painful and I have had to miss work. I don’t know if I got the infection from the Almost Famous, but based on the infection occurring 3 days after getting pierced I think there’s a pretty high chance I contracted the bacteria from Almost Famous.

I had my nipple pierced at this location in mid August and absolutely love it! The staff was friendly, knowledgable, and incredibly professional. I felt comfortable in the clean, brightly lit shop. I would highly recommend this location to anyone who is looking for a high quality piercing. It was well worth the price. The attitudes of the staff made the entire experience that much more enjoyable as well.Not to mention, my piercing is healing wonderfully under the direction of their aftercare and looks great!

I got my nose pierced on my lunch break today -- they had me in and out in about 20 minutes. The two people I met that work at the NE location were just lovely. Sonia was my piercer and it was clear shes done this hundreds of times; we had a nice chat and she made it as painless as possible. 100% happy with my experience, thank you!

This location never has a piercer available. Every time I called and Ive called 7 times in the last 9 days they said theres no one available to do piercings so how is this a piercing place when you can never get a piercing done. Im starting to think they should say they only sell body jewelry if I could give zero Stars I would and you cant even make appointments over the phone Ive never heard of that most people want you to make an appointment before you show up for services to make sure they have the time to do the piercing instead of me coming in and being told I have to wait 2 hours

The reviews don’t lie, DONT GO HERE. Absolutely horrible experience. I got two piercings done here and paid over $150 only to have one completely botched. She pierced them way to shallow/ tore my skin trying to pierce me. She let me walk out with a completely torn piercing I was so excited about and left me with no choice but to either take it out and waste my money or try to let it heal improperly. I messaged their customer service for a refund or help trying to heal my botched piercing and received no reply.

Absolutely love this place, Almost famous body piercing in Minneapolis is the only piercing shop I trust..they are always so clean and VERY friendly. They treat their customers very nicely and have a very very good selection on jewelry. I recommend this place for minors especially because they are so careful. I’ve had my nose done in 2019 and absolutely love it, I recently got my conch done and love it!! They always have Opal and I personally LOVE Opal!! They do get busy fast but are very good at managing it!!

Got my tongue pierced by Maggie. She was very professional and friendly as well. The experience was totally positive. Also, the receptionist, Roxanne was very accommodating ... even though I came in at there busiest time. She engaged all the customers, super friendly. You have a great team there, will def be back.

The piercer Eren was amazing! They have a very friendly and comforting presence, and did my piercings quickly and gently. They listened to what i was wanting to do and gave me exactly what i was hoping for, and made it a great experience!

This was place was awesome. I went to have my jewelry put back in after I needed to take them out. Rowan helped me pick out the right jewelry and was patient and informative when helping me choose. Sonia switched out my jewelry painlessly and easily. I would definitely go back to get a new piercing from her. Highly recommend!

This was my first time at Almost Famous and the staff inside were incredibly nice, but when it came time to get my 2 cartilage piercings, the piercer did not do a very good job. Ive had many (8+) cartilage piercings in the past, and they are always very smooth and done in one fluid motion, in and out quick. Both of the piercings I got here were the most painful Ive ever had because the piercer would get the needle partly in, wait a few seconds, then literally yank it through the other side of my ear harshly. These should be done in one fluid motion, not done in 2-3 motions. I took really good care of both piercings soaking them in salt solutions 3x daily, using their wash 1x daily, not touching or bumping them, and one got so infected after 2 days I had to go to the doctor and get antibiotics. Overall a nice shop, but the piercer I had was not good at it. Its been weeks and my ear is still trying to heal from the harsh yanking that was done, and the infection still is having a hard time passing. I also noticed that half the stores jewelry is just for belly buttons, 1/3 is for gauges, and theres only a tiny selection for ear/cartilage piercings. Not a huge deal but I probably wont be returning to this shop in the future for piercings even though they were nice and thorough and clean.

I had an amazing time getting pierced! I got 2 lower lobe piercings and a septum piercing.Cirby was super helpful in explaining all of my options for both piercing and jewelry types, answering all my questions. Im pretty sure I have an allergic reaction to nickel, (or at least I did when I was younger), so she helped me pick a metal that is nickel free and looks awesome!Ari did my piercing and she was so composed. She had a great system of breathing in and out that made all five piercings go extremely quickly and as painlessly as making holes in your body can (lol). She also was super helpful in explaining piercing maintenance so Im excited to have my piercing heal!

I had never had such a positive piercing experience as I did when Maggie Williams pierced me. It was magical and fabulous. She answered all of my questions and really cares. I’m no stranger to face holes, but still get giddy over new face jewelry. Maggie understood my concerns with doing something that was extremely exciting and nerve racking while being entertaining, positive, kind, and trustworthy. 11/10. Best. Day. Ever.Maggie is going out of her way to help me and my crazy whims for mouthwash. And I will NEVER FORGET the amazing service she has provided me. I will recommend Maggie to anybody looking for a precise puncture and a enjoyable atmosphere.

Always very nice piercers and front desk employeesEdit as of 3/25/23 (about 10 months later)To my knowledge, they are now closed due to short staffing. Every time Ive gone to the physical location in the last few months, they havent been open. They also no longer answer the phone, as every time I or a friend has called nobody has picked up. Its a shame, since I used to love talking with Taytum and the other employees there when I would go in.Rest in peace to what used to be my go-to.

This companys policy is garbage. I got my daughters nose pierced for Christmas. Less than 60 days later it fell out so we called the Minneapolis location who said sure they can put it back in for her. After driving out there, they no longer had appointments for 2 hours. So we called the Mall of America location who said they had an appointment in one hour. We drive immediately there only to be told they no longer had that appt and not for now an hour and half. They wont allow you to book over the phone and suggested I pull my daughter out of school to book an appointment to then come back later for the actual appt. Then when I asked what else can be done as this is a brand new piercing which close up, she said we may need to get it repierced!! So they want me to pay for this a second time despite it being there fault it was not put in properly the first time. Do not waste your time or money for this company for anything.

I came in to get my Medusa pierced and I had Alexis. She was great, so nice. Showed that she cared and helped me calm my nerves (even though I’d had several piercings before). I typically go to the Mankato location, but being in St. Paul I can’t go there every time and I’ve never had a bad experience at the other locations here in the cities. I love you guys and I honestly don’t think I can go anywhere else for piercings and the selection of jewelry is great!

I was stupid and pierced my nostril myself, and only had earrings. I came here and bought a nostril stud and exchanged it out for the price of the stud. Overall, the staff is friendly and Im happy with the service. (Edit: I did the same thing with my septum, they helped me get the horseshoe in when I couldnt. Staff was very helpful and knowledgeable)

I have been to many other shops before, but this one definitely stood out. Not only was the place extremely clean, but Maggie who initiated in the conversation who ended up being our piecer was absolutely amazing. My niece wanted her belly button done for her 16th birthday and as I promised, we went. I will hands down recommend anyone to have their first or last piercing done win her. She was so thorough and wonderful. My niece got scared and began to cry and she comforted her and made her feel like she could take as long as needed. Making sure from the beginning to end she was satisfied. Customer service is really hard to find these days, but Maggie really blew it out of the water. Thank you for everything! I will be sure to recommend every person I know over there.

My friend and I were looking to get pierced here since they have a great BOGO deal. We were very excited and tried two separate times to come in. Almost famous only has walk-in piercings, that being said, they make you leave and then come back. This policy is not only frustrating but makes no sense. I understand if you have to get your temperature checked before an appointment or are not allowed to be pierced due to COVID. What I do not understand is why they would make you come in and then leave rather then just making an appointment and being able to schedule someone else if the previous slot was not filled.Another frustrating aspect of this facility is that they only have a piercer come in on Mondays and POSSIBLY Fridays, if a business has piercing IN the name, wouldn’t you think that they should ALWAYS have a piercer on staff?The staff who gave us this information were really polite and gave us no issues.The problem I’m concerned with is simply the management/ business aspect of it. It just doesn’t seem like good business to constantly be turning people away when you have a sale going on.

Maggie was the one who pierced me and she was so sweet and nice. Id had horrible anxiety over it and was feeling pretty scared, but she has this aura about her that really calmed me down. I felt fine during the whole process right upon meeting her. Love the piercing. Loved the experience. Ill probably be back later for my eyebrow! 😉

I took my six-year-old daughter to the NE Minneapolis location to get her ears pierced. Maggie was wonderful- both on the phone answering my questions beforehand, as well as in-person when we arrived. She was great with my daughter and made her so comfortable, explaining exactly what she was doing before she started. Without a doubt, it was the best experience we could’ve hoped for and I would absolutely return here in the future!

Of all the piercing places Ive been a patron of, this has got to be my favorite. Its a petite store front right across the river from downtown Minneapolis. Its a great location, with proximity to Lunds & Byerlys Northeast, Surdyks, and a wide variety of boutique shops of fun restaurants. While I tend to make the trip specifically to go to this shop, it would be easy to make it a part of your afternoon while spending time out and about in northeastern Minneapolis.Both of the piercers I have worked with here have been wonderful—professional, quick, and personable. The front end staff is what really makes this place unique. Every interaction I have had with them has been great. They are friendly, polite and knowledgeable. They are great listeners when you have questions, and know how to help you find exactly what you need. Its truly a fun time going in to talk shop and look at the jewelry they have. There are pieces ranging from classic to abstract and everything in between. Truly wonderful!

I came into this location today to get my anti eyebrow removed and get a dermal piercing.The Receptionist who is in training is amazing and very friendly !!!Maggie W. Did my piercing and she was absolutely AMAZING !!!! She definitely needs a promotion !She put my piercing where I wanted , even changed the jewelry after she pierced me and I realized the jewelery I picked out was to big . I felt really compelled to write a review about my recent experience at Almost Famous in NE Minneapolis because it was so great! Unfortunately, I feel like Almost Famous gets a bad rep as being low-quality because they have a location in MOA and only do piercings, not tattoos. However, my experience was completely opposite of some of these recent reviews. As I typically do when getting a new piercing, I researched local shops to see what was open and who had walk-in availability. Before going to AF, I made sure to call, where they were very clear about the availability and walk in protocol. Its a pandemic people, theyre clearly struggling to stay staffed with certified piercers so cut them some slack and just do a little background checking before you actually go there so you dont waste your time. Its unfair to leave bad reviews for something completely out of this shops control at this time. As for my actual piercing experience, check-in was thorough and they went through all the covid safety procedures, the two people at the front were super informative and encouraging because i was a bit anxious. They showed me jewelry to choose from and informed me about nose ring deals which was great. My piercer was incredibly clean and professional, and kind and considerate of my stress about going through with a septum and nipple repiercings all in one go, alone. She told me to breath and relax and made the experience as painless as possible. My septum hardly felt like anything! Overall, my experience with Almost Famous was excellent from start to finish and I highly encourage anyone to go here to take advantage of their awesome deals. Just do a little research beforehand and have a little compassion for small businesses during this difficult time. Thanks, Almost Famous!

Sadly my experience at Almost Famous was very poor. My septum was done through cartilage (which is a LOT more painful) without my knowledge. Accidents happen and sometimes repokes have to happen, but the shop should not let you walk out like that. I returned once I realized it was pierced wrong since that comes with increased risk of complications and she told me I simply didnt have a sweet spot to pierce. I got a second opinion from another shop and I DO have a sweet spot and even had it successfully repierced by that shop, but even if I didnt have a sweet spot then the piercer would have known that before piercing and should have let me know the options ahead of time since cartilage piercing takes a significantly longer time to heal, is a lot more painful, and has greater risk of rejection and migration. They offer repierces but after my experience and the lies I was told I dont trust it, and they make you buy the new jewelry to repierce you with despite it being their piercing error. I wanted to like this experience so much but sadly I cannot recommend this shop to anyone for a piercing of any kind.

I went to get new jewelry for my tragus. I explained the piercing was currently large and they showed me which gauge to purchase. I couldnt touch anything and there was no one to change it out for me so I get it home and the earring goes all the way through my piercing. The covid precautions to simply enter the store are extreme (table in front of the door, staff behind plastic, mask required) this was the middle of July.

Have been to these shops multiple times and probably have gotten a total of 17 or so piercings from this company in general. All of them have been easy healing and the piercers have always been very knowledgeable, patient, and professional. Would definitely recommend to others!

Went here with my friend to get our daith’s done and experienced the most unprofessional piercings ever. The women’s name was Alexis-and it was very apparent that she did not care about what she was doing. I went first and she was very aggressive to the point where my friend felt like she was manhandling me. I bled so much. She left me unattended on the table with the clamp in my ear to get more tools because she struggled get the earring in. It took her an addition 3-5 minutes to get my earring actually in after the needle was inserted. I experienced such discomfort that I thought I was going to either puke or faint because my vision started to go black. After telling her this and seeing how poorly she did-my friend no longer wanted hers done. Alexis (the piercer) did not make sure I was OK and began to be rude to my friend. She told her she had to get the piercing done or she would charge her $25 for inconvenience. She pressured my friend into getting hers pierced too so she wouldn’t have the extra fee. AWFUL EXPERIENCE WOULD NOT RECOMMEND

These are my 2nd comments/review. I got my first nose pierce a month ago & a week ago I knocked it out by accident, could not for anything get it back in w/my nails, so went in & their staff was so amazing! They are as nice & accommodating as they were when I went & had it originally done! Amanda, the manager can answer every question you can think up! The front girls are thee nicest & helpful for picking out diff. jewelry! They not only helped me with putting my nose jewelry back in but I walked out w/a 2nd nose pierce! Love it so much!! They are professional, helpful, clean, nice, & above all so patient! I’m wanting more pierces now....neckline, fore arm, top of ear! They help me with what I want done! Would not go anywhere else!!

Called the business before coming in to see if I could come in for a piercing change. I was told I could come in. When I asked the staff member about how long of a wait they have she told me roughly 30 minutes. I show up to the establishment an hour later to inquire about purchasing jewelry and having my jewelry switched out only to be told “ We are not doing jewelry changes until much, much later”. When I asked her when she said not until 5pm. It was only 1:55pm. Just a waste of my time! Had I been told this over the phone I wouldn’t have wasted my time going to the establishment. It wasn’t busy at all, just a bunch of chatter going on in the background. She asked me if I still wanted to look at jewelry and I said I’d like to do so. I walk in to look at the jewelry selection only for her to offer no help what so ever. I decided to leave after five minutes of not being offered help and the lack of acknowledgment. Rude!!!

The receptionist is the best part about this place - very welcoming. However the piercer was abrupt and not very personable - when I went back because I thought my tragus was infected, she told me to keep soaking it without really looking at the piercing. I then went to Saint Sabrinas and was told after a much more thorough examination that the bump was likely caused by pressure I put on it when I slept. I quit the soakings and its been much better since following other advice. Not going back here again.

They were so gentle with my children! Professional, efficient. Would go back. One caveat: They dont allow tipping on your credit card or by any electronic means, so bring cash to tip. I didnt, I felt embarrassed, and I havent been able to get back to drop it off.

Everyone there was so kind! Sonja did my snake eye tongue piercing. Shes super informed, very kind, and was quick with the piercing. Everything turned out great and Ill definitely be coming back in the near future.

Nothing but good things to say. I took my 9 1/2-year-old there to get her ears pierced. She was very scared and nervous but the staff, especially Anna at reception and Sonya the piercer, were kind, gentle, and did a great job putting both of our minds at ease.

I got a piercing here last March and had an incredible experience. The staff was so accommodating and sweet. About two weeks ago my jewelry fell out and I went back in this evening to get it put back in. Let me tell you...it was one of the most painful experiences of my life but ELISE, my hero and such a rockstar, was so helpful and patient with me even though it was NOT a fun experience for either of us. I highly recommend this shop for their amazing staff, they are so friendly, not to mention prompt and they keep the place very clean and professional. I will absolutely be coming back in the future, hopefully under different circumstances lol. Keep slaying!!!

First they sold me jewelery after dropping it on the floor and screwing it back into my microdermals on my face its now infected! Pus is coming out sides i went back a few weeks later and got there right before they closed and they turned me away. I begged for them to just sell me the cleaning solution for the piercing and she refused and laughed at me. She had black hair and was rude and unsympathetic as i begged. I wouldnt ever recommend this place they infected my face then turned me away when i needed help the most i thought small businesses were supposed to stand with you. So not fair :(

I was a bit skeptical coming here due to the mixed reviews but as there were more reviews than most piercing shops it does not surprise me. I also want to start out by saying people are more likely to leave a bad review than a good review. I went in to the Minneapolis location just yesterday to have 3 dermals placed on the base of my spine. Maggie was my piercer and she did fantastic. She had a bit of trouble getting the first anchor in but after she switched needles the other two went very quick and smooth. She talked me thru everything, made sure I was feeling okay and was generally very pleasant. She even pointed out that one may have been a little bit off center but may straighten out after swelling goes down and if not she could repierce it. I love that she pointed it out immediately rather than trying to convince me it looks good or something. Maggie personally I would give 5 stars. The place was clean/sterile and everything but a little outdated and old, which is fine. Jewelry seemed a little on the cheaper side too as i only paid $115 total for the piercings and jewelry (not including tip). They used titanium as opposed to surgical steel which i believe would be due to the fact titanium is much more body friendly, less likley for allergic reaction. I also had my snug pierced at Almost famous but this was at the moa location. Charlie was my piercer and she was fantastic. She didnt seem like one to want to get personal with guests but you could tell she was trying. Moa store was definitely more new and updated but unfortunately they cant do dermals. Both stores were great and I would definitely return. Thanks ladies!

I got 4 piercings here a few years ago for my birthday, and as I am much more experienced with getting piercings I am extremely disgusted by the way my family and I were treated during our visit. At the time, I was excited to be getting some of my first few piercings, that I overlooked the mistreatment and unprofessionalism I received by my piercer. The piercer I had incorrectly pierced my cartilage and the jewelry quality was cheap. The piercer also made very petty remarks towards myself as well as my brother when we asked questions about piercings and during the piercing process. I have a reoccurring bump on my cartilage that will not go away, years after receiving the piercing. Would definitely recommend going elsewhere. From now on, I will only stick to APP certified piercers.

I’ve purchased jewelry and had it changed out here a couple times and had a great experience each time. The staff is friendly, and the piercers who’ve changed my jewelry were very helpful. The person who helped me this evening let me know what to expect/hear/feel as the jewelry was being switched out. I really appreciated that!

I got my belly button pierced 5 days ago and it was disappointing. The piercer wasnt friendly and was quite rude. Now 5 days later the gem in the bottom part of my ring fell out. I wasnt doing anything that would make it fall out. I went to take a shower and it was gone. I went in this evening to see what they could do about it and they were very rude about it. They said Id have to pay for another piece of jewelry and another fee to change it out. I already paid almost 100 dollars for what I thought I was getting was a quality piece of jewelry. They told me that it was in the paperwork that the jewel might possibly fall out which they never told me. So basically they said that its in the paperwork that theyre giving me jewelry that is is a piece of sh** and wont last the 6 months that its supposed to stay in. Im very disappointed and upset about the way I was treated both times I went in. Im very disappointed and if I wouldve know this would happen then I wouldnt have gone to this place.

Went in to buy a replacement earring and bought a spare ball for another piercing while I was at it. Immediately after the purchase was finished I realized the ball was female when I needed a male piece and stated as such to the receptionist. She told me she couldn’t return it but could buy me a new one. Are you kidding me? It was an honest mistake that could have been resolved quickly. You mean to tell me there’s no way to reverse mistakes? I went there for the convenience of location, but it just seemed like she didn’t care to help me out. I’m not asking anyone to bend over backwards for me. I’m surely not going there again.

Möön did my dermal piercing and my nipple piercings. Shes absolutely AMAZING!! Shes so kind, thorough, and it really helped me ease my mind. she let me know about every step of the process and.it was over quick, virtually painless, and my piercings look amazing. if you come here, definitely ask for Möön!!

This is my second time coming here and both were great experiences! Maggie pierced my ears on both occasions. She was friendly, accommodating, calm, and informative. She made it easy and enjoyable. Definitely recommend this place to anyone interested!

DO. NOT. GO. HERE. They do not know proper aftercare; will recommend that you use glycerine soap which is a HUGE no. They also use steel jewelry and dont do proper barbell sizing and downsizing. I got my industrial pierced here and was wondering for almost TWO YEARS why it still hadnt fully healed... went to a piercer who actually knew what they were doing, they gave me titanium jewelry, and it healed fully within a couple of months. Go to Electric Strawberry, Levictus, Sacred Siren, or another safe piercer thats a member w/ the Association of Professional Piercers... Never go here, unless they learn proper piercing techniques in the future.Edit/Reply:I should have probably noted that I actually got pierced at MOA (nostril, double lobe, and industrial), and then went to the mpls location because my nose had a horrible pressure bump (probably from the terrible jewelry and outdated aftercare your company recommends). I kinda just copy/pasted the same review for both locations, but when I specifically went to your location, you guys replaced the nose screw with a steel ring (I had only had the piercing for a few weeks, way way too early to switch to a ring). You guys also tried to sell me lavender/tea tree oil to put on it - how much worse could your aftercare recommendations get.If you guys actually care about your customers... STOP selling steel, START giving people STERILE saline (out of a bottle; Neilmed is great), and STOP giving people soap. Soap is inherently drying, so its completely nonsensical to try and wash out irritants with more irritants. Remember, piercings are open wounds - and should be treated as such. If people cant avoid getting products in their open wounds, they just simply shouldnt get piercings. Also, lavender, tea tree, etc. are way too irritating (even if diluted, because usually the things you dilute it with are ALSO irritating). The best aftercare you can give is sterile saline wound wash, and to LITHA (leave it the hell alone).Any metals other than implant grade titanium, niobium, nickel-free gold and platinum are a no-go; selling steel or any coated materials is only so that YOU guys can get more people in and out for extra monetary gain,, against the best interest of your customers and their healing. I really do hope that you guys change your ways for the safety of the people who come to you, because piercings are a beautiful art and its so unfortunate that people are risking being hurt by your services. Until then, Id advise against anyone going here.To anybody reading this looking for a good place to get pierced, search for a piercer on safepiercing.org (navigate to the Find a Piercer tab) !!

I’ve gotten a few ear cartilage piercings and my nostril done here and never had a problem. The place is clean and has a decent jewelry selection, although the majority of it is plugs and navel/nose jewelry. However this past week I went to get my philtrum (Medusa) pierced and it was done crooked. The hole on the outside was pretty centered, though not perfectly, but the entrance hole on the inside of my mouth was way over to one side and kept catching on the edge of my gums. I kept it for a few days because the crookedness wasn’t noticeable from the outside but I finally decided it bothered me too much and took it out. I plan to get it re-pierced at St. Sabrina’s where they did an incredible job on my Inverse Vertical Labret (Ashley) piercing and I should’ve gone to them in the first place.Anyway I still feel comfortable recommending almost famous for ear piercings or other common ones, especially because of their bogo deal. I’ve never had an issue with infection or felt like anything was unclean here. However for more complex piercings that require more care and perfectionism, I really recommend Saint Sabrina’s. MUCH, MUCH larger jewelry selection and they really take their time to make sure it’s perfect every time.

Piercing was super crooked, asked for it to be fixed, fixed spot was still very off, didnt bother asking for it to be replaced again. Way over priced, most places charge $30 less then what I was charged. Will say though that the staff was very friendly, and the piercer had no issues with trying to fix it.

I’ve come here before for a different piercing and had a really great expierence, but i went back two months ago to get my smiley pierced and it was pierced crooked. it’s now healed and is still crooked. the people here are very kind, but my last experience was very disappointing, paying $100 just to get a crooked piercing :(

Sonya did an ear piercing and septum ring changing for me as well as a tragus and septum piercing for my friend! She was so nice and explained everything to us as she was doing the piercings… it was like we were getting lessons from her! Highly recommend! Thank you Sonya!

Such a great experience! they were super pleasant , very on top of covid regulations(appointments only) and my piercer sonya was super friendly:) she saved me about $50 by suggesting checking my septum to see if it was still open from a previous piercing and it was 😄 would recommend.

I just stopped by the shop to buy jewelry so I cannot speak for the quality of the piercers. I went to buy a ball to my septum horseshoe ring because I had lost one. I showed her the jewelry and explained it was 16g and the one that I got pierced with (internally threaded). She grabbed the ball (and the seamless ring I was also picking up) from the locked cabinets and packaged it with an alcohol wipe and such. Great. When I got home to put the ball on my horseshoe, I saw that she had given me a captive bead ring instead. You aren’t allowed to return items at this store so I just lost money on that. I didn’t look closely at the ball she picked because, as she is an employee, I figured she knew what the right one to get was. The seamless ring was fine and fit well but I’m pretty bummed that my horseshoe ring is still missing an end.

Got my nose pierced here a couple of years ago and it fell out a few months later, thought nothing of it maybe it just rejected or something, went to a piercer closer to home and was informed it wasn’t done properly. Came back to this location a few days ago to buy some jewelry for another piercing and possibly my Monroe done, no one else was in the shop, I didn’t get a hello or can I help you find anything, I did indeed have questions on the jewelry I was buying because I know I need it in a longer length, looked for 20-30 minuets said to my boyfriend (kinda loudly so they could hear) “it’d be nice to have someone help answer my questions” and still no one came to help. Won’t be back

I stumbled upon Almost Famous when my usual tat/piercing place was closed due to a staff emergency. I’m so glad I did and will be returning here for my piercings in the future.Elise did a fantastic job with my rook piercing; she was friendly and professional (as was her coworker).The actual piercing stung for just a millisecond and then was gone, though I do have a very high pain tolerance.Thanks Elise!

My friend and I heard that they had a buy one get one free deal for piercings, so as they were booked the first day we tried to go in. We were told that despite the promotion they had going on, they only had one piercer for the shop, who only came in once a week. I was disappointed and very confused as to why a piercing shop has only one piercer on staff. The workers there were helpful and polite, but the experience was overall quite frustrating.

Maggie was amazing! She talked me through the entire process, made sure there were no surprises, and got it done in a few minutes! I am very happy with my new piercing.

Most definitely not LGBT friendly, also super Rude staff. The “ID” I had with me that day was a State Issued Temp License, Accepted at all government and medical facilities. But Blame it on w/e is convenient Truth is I was refused service because due to Trans bias. Unbelievable

Omg i had my friend do cheek piercing on me 2 day later they was sinking in and hurting me soo bad I set an appointment here I needed them to help me well she got my cheek piercing out my face what a big relief it was quick she took her time she did not hurt me she picked out my bars for me and put longer bars in for me for a cheap price and recommend the after care kit I need that. The place was clean and professional they get 10 star I wanna thank this place alot.

Worst piercings I’ve had. I got the two cartilage, they gave me the wrong size. When I went back in, they made me pay for a new size that was correct. Even though they where the ones that put the initial wrong ones on. The second set didn’t have the ball attached, and they never closed them all the way. Constant problems and infection. 10/10 DONT recommend going here.

The place was clean, professional and well organized and the staff were amazing! Especially Maggie - who was patient, explained the process, and answered all our many questions. She was extremely helpful and knowledgeable - truly above and beyond! We had an awesome experience and we will be back!

Very helpful and nice staff, but the company is not transparent with their pricing. They dont tell you that you need to pay for aftercare and other products pushed upon customers (staff may be pressured by the company). Ontop of this, products and services are overpriced, and some practices do not meeting industry standards.

Sam at this location was very helpful and bubbly. I was in and out just because I had an issue with my jewelry, but she really personalized the experience with me. This location I have found to be a lot more friendly and efficient than the MOA location. Ask for Sam, she is amazing:)

Heard this place open for piercing.... I was excited and came here for a nose piercing! The way they greet people was rude and makes you feel uncomfortable!!! So then got my nose pierce the lady told me to check it out. And when I walked up to the mirror my nose started to bleed and she just said ohhh maybe its a nerve that caused it. So went home to check and got a big cut inside my nose!!! No wonder I was bleeding alot... no more going to this place

Maggie Williams pierced my girlfriends lip and nose. She was extremely professional and had excellent bedside manner. I personally won’t be piercing anything on my body anytime soon but I will recommend Maggie and Almost Famous Body Piercing to anyone that desires one!

Elise was FABULOUS! I had to have a Daith piercing re-done (long story) and she totally got it right. In and out in a matter of minutes. Would totally recommend her. The shop was really nice too - amazing selection of jewelry.

The were very professional and had a lot of information to answer all my questions. Ive come to this shop multiple times before and have gotten dermal piercings, a very easy and quick process. My most recent time was a disaster, she rushed to pierce the area and ripped my skin leaving me with a chunk of skin missing. She then re did the piercing in a different area and still managed to rip a little more around that area as well. I was not compensated for any of this and still had to pay full price.

Unfortunately, compared to my experience at professional piercing establishments, I would not recommend this business to others at this time. I had a simple third earlobe piercing done by a nice enough piercer. She had a manager or perhaps a senior piercer sit in on her piercing job on me. I should have asked how much experience she had in that moment because I was beginning to not feel confident in her. Another moment that should have been a sign for me to leave was that I had made it clear I wanted a third piercing on each lobe performed. The receptionist did not understand nor did she convey this information to the piercer. As the piercer was getting her work tray ready, being cautious to keep everything that is sterile clean as possible, receptionist girl comes in with the second jewelry pieces for the second lobe. Her hands were not the most tidy looking, the piercer touched the items given to her directly from the receptionist, then placed them on the sterile/clean work tray. Interesting. The piercing proceeded and was complete. I tipped the piercer, said thank you, and left. I didnt want to make her feel like she failed or something. The next day or so as the swelling went down, I noticed that my left lobes piercing was more medial than the right and angled crooked. I called and was told to just take the piercing out and let it heal. Once healed, I could come back. I decided to call their MOA location just to see if that would be the same answer Id receive, but no. The lady on the phone at MOA was far more knowledgeable and friendly. She told me to not remove it, head back to the studio, have them remove it, once healed, theyd autoclave the jewelry and repierce the ear for me. Minneapolis location must have gotten a call because I received a call not too long after to be told the same information as provided from MOA. I went back feeling relieved and excited the next day but when I got there all three ladies spent considerable time convincing me that the piercing looked great etc. I decided in that moment to simply leave because I wasnt made to feel that what I want for my body was right and that perhaps having to repierce was more effort than to convince me I was wrong. I smiled, said take care, but good bye! Other places I have been to were tattoo shops where the piercing artist took pride and professionalism to heart. They will repierce, no questions asked. They will help you remove jewelry, no attitude. And most importantly, they know the real and proper answers to all questions asked. I give two stars for jewelry selection and cute atmosphere. Almost Famous must spend more time training their piercers on: professionalism, proper ways to keep their stations clean during piercings, and know the art of piercing/biology/mechanisms of healing thoroughly before working on clients.

I had 3 microdermals done here. One came totally out (anchor & all). But then they all rejected. One sat crooked. I ended up having my normal piercer remove them & redoing w of them, after the first ones healed. I hate to give a bad review but I wud never come back. Plus any jewelry I bought with stones, the stones fell out. I have other piercings. All my jewelry I bought from my tatt shop has stayed shiny & all stones have never come out. And my other piercings Ive had done for years n years. I was very disappointed on how the piercings were done, quality of jewelry & no customer skills when I did call about the microdermals.

Got my nipples pierced there. Staff was very helpful and everything but Im not sure if the piercer was relatively new or just didnt have much experience with the type of nipples I have. Mine are what you would call puffy so the areola protrude out in sort of a half moon shape. Piercing should have corrected this making them look like normal nipples. The piercer didnt get my nipples fully erect before piercing them and therefore when they are now fully erect the bar is in the middle of my nipple instead of at the base. For how expensive this place was and how painful the piercings were, Im extremely frustrated that I have to take them out and have them redone. They said they would repierce them for free but if it was done incorrectly there once Id rather find a more experienced piercer. Hopefully I can at least get some sort of a refund.

Okay, so i know many people write bad reviews because their piercing didnt turn out cause of things they did or didnt do. Well im here to say i got my navel done i wanna say about a month and a half ago, the experince is great they are helpful they tell you want theyre doing and its just amazing! I have no words to express and i would defently recommmed coming her for noes, navel (belly button), septum, cheeck or anything, its amazing service.

The staff were amazing and friendly. Everything was quick, clean, and efficient. If I ever want another piercing or am helping a friend choose where to go... The only name on my lips will be Almost Famous.

Their covid19 procedure is top notch, very helpful with choices and I was in and out pretty quick. Their jewelry is great too. I changed out my septum and tongue ring and its already so much more comfortable than what I had.

Would not even give 1 star but have to...to leave a review. I have many piercings ears, nose, dermal & now my labret is closed thanks to Almost Famous! I simply went there to purchase a retainer for work because we cant have facial piercings. Well the day I purchased was just the day before yesterday & some chick attempted to switch out my lip jewel & caused more pain trying to put retainer in by forcing, tugging & rushing! I stated that it hurt really bad so she added some lube which didnt help so I told her to put my original jewelry back in my lip & not tight so that I can go home & do it myself. Well when I tried to put it in myself I couldnt unscrew the ball she clamped on too tight & mind you because of her careless unprofessionalism my lip was bleeding, burning, red & crusting over all night until the next day! Hurt more than it did when I got it pierced! The next day I went to my original tattoo shop (who suggested that I go to Almost Famous to purchase retainer) as they did not have my size at moment. When I got it switched at my tatt shop they told me they sold me the wrong size & that it may come out because it was too short. Well it did! I swallowed it eating breakfast today at work! Just called Almost Famous & explained what happened & all she told me was sorry but we dont do refunds! So I swallowed my $9 & my labret closed during my 8hr work shift! Those ladies need more training! 4 thumbs down!!! #highleyUpsetCustomer Will never go back! Thanks Maggie for nothing!

I live in Arizona but my younger sister is from Minneapolis and she swears by Almost Famous Body Piercing. I went with her to get her last piercing while I was in town and I was amazed by how clean and beautiful the piercing shop was. If I was into piercings this is definitely where Id go!

Went to their workshop today to be apart of the great deals they had going on! the manager was so nice along with the girl that was being trained how to pierce. I loved this place at first but about a week later what they did was so bad, I had to go to a new place because they gave me the wrong kind of belly button piercing and get new jewelry, when we called to see if they had a bigger bar they said they could “make one” I- exuse me they were gunna make a belly button ring that’s not ment for the bellybutton and they did my vertical labret wrong and I had to take it out and they said no refunds so we wasted our money don’t ever go here

Highly recommendI needed some assistance with my nose ring because the place I got it pierced at wasnt being very helpful and I was having problems with it. The ladies workingsqueezed me in between 2 appointments to help me and were so kind and helpful!

I had my Daith peircing done by Clay. Shes very professional. She explained exactly what she was going to do before doing my peircing. The shop is clean, I would recommend going to Almost Famous Peircing.

I got my medusa wrong and learned later on that she pierced it incorrectly. She pierced it from the outside instead of going through the inside. I am left with a (maybe) permanent bump. Not pleased.
