Minneapolis Tattoo Shop

Lee designed and applied an absolutely beautiful tattoo for me. I described what I was looking for and his design matched my vision perfectly. The studio was very clean and all staff were highly professional.

I walked in to the shop and showed the guy a picture of the tattoo I wanted, and I told him I liked the font it was in. He didnt know what the font was, and instead printed off two different options. I didnt feel great with either of them, and he said I should just pick one or Ill spend all day picking out a font. I understand that I was very unsure, but I assumed he could just print the picture or retrace the font. Unfortunately he couldnt, and was very rude and impatient, and I caught him rolling his eyes at me multiple times. This is a big decision, and I just wanted to make sure I got the right font. He was dismissive when I asked to see the two different paper cutouts on my arm, and told me they were basically the same. They were very different fonts, and it just didnt feel like he cared for my image of what I wanted/cared for the outcome. I asked my friends that were in the store which font they liked, and he interrupted them and said its my tattoo and I need to decide for myself. I agree but I was only asking for advice. When I told him I would think it over, he refused to give me the paper and said I could look it up myself. I understand that he probably didnt want me using that paper for a different shop, but every word he said was said in a harsh and condescending tone. I emailed a different tattoo shop and they found the font immediately and were very kind. Im not sure these people know what theyre doing unless its random flash.

Such a safe and comfortable place! They made my first experience getting a tattoo absolutely perfect. Holly was great from start to finish. I would definitely go back!

Had my first session with Sarah and it went great! She was fun to chat with and was patient and gentle. The shop has a great aesthetic, the artists are fun and talented, and everything was very clean. Cant wait for session two!Follow up! I had my second session with Sarah to add shading, highlights, detail work, and color. Went amazingly! Once again a fantastic experience.

I love this shop! I’ve been in twice (so far) and been tattooed by Jes and Nagi. Both experiences were fantastic and I love my tattoos. Looking forward to going back for more!

Great atmosphere! This was my first time getting a tattoo and Sarah was so patient with me and continued communicating with me throughout our session. The piece is beyond my expectations and we were able to talk about the design prior to starting and I cannot wait for the rest of it to be done.

Nikki is DA BOMB! I waited 6 months to get my tattoo when her books opened again. I love the vibe there and the professionalism! Definitely worth the wait!

I loved it!! I had a tattoo done today on my 18th birthday and Im in love with it. Heather is the best! The shop itself is very cool with awesome decor. Everyone was very friendly and I can tell all the artists who work there are genuinely really great people. 10/10 and I hope I can return again.

Amazing shop. I’ve been here twice now and both times have left super happy. Jess was fantastic. She’s friendly, incredibly talented, and makes it a great collaborative experience. My wife also got a piece done by Nagi and had nothing but great things to say. We love both of our pieces and we’ll definitely be back again.

My first tattoo experience with Nagi was absolutely perfect. He created a beautiful design that was just what I had wanted, and placed it in a way that complements my body so well. While I was a bit nervous for my first tattoo, especially on my ribs, Nagi made me feel like I was chatting with an old friend. His conversation is as wonderful as his tattooing skills! The tattoo healed very quickly and looks just as incredible as when I left the shop. I can’t recommend him enough. If you’re looking to get your first tattoo, book with Nagi!

I have LOVED my experience here. So far I have one new piece and Nikki just finished fixing a previous tattoo I got at another shop in my youth and it looks like a whole new piece. Very detail oriented, professional, clean, and incredibly warm and kind staff. I can’t recommend them enough.

What can I say except AMAZING! I had a while ride with my appointment, after an artist suddenly left the shop and didnt follow up with me. HOWEVER the shop followed up with me to make sure I was still able to get my appointment. The owner ended up doing my tattoo, and honoring the price I was quoted originally. Nikki was AWESOME- friendly, hard working, and diligent. She paid great attention to detail and making sure the tattoo fit well alongside my existing tattoo. She even touched up the previous artists character (poor line work). I felt so comfortable the entire time, everyone was so friendly, and I was never afraid to ask questions or to take a short break. If youre considering going to the Minneapolis Tattoo Shop- DO IT! Its more than worth it!!!

Wonderful experience for my first tattoo. Heather is so talented, made me feel comfortable the entire time and was fun to talk with. I feel so lucky as I snagged a cancellation that she posted on her Instagram. The entire shop was taking COVID precautions very seriously. It’s been a few months and my tattoo healed wonderfully! I will be going in for a touch up — their free touch up policy within 6 months is another great bonus of going with this shop!

Overall positive experience. The staff is friendly although I did feel more like a number than a client. Im still satisfied with my tattoo and would recommend this shop to others. Sarah did my piece and did an amazing job!! Parking is a little tricky in this area so plan for that. Shop has a very open concept, clean and well put together. Honestly I personally like to go to a new place each time I get a tattoo for a new experience but I would return to Minneapolis Tattoo Shop for future work, especially for delicate, fine line ink! ✨

Great experience here. I came in with a friend the first time, and returned to finish my tattoo with color (first visit was line work) a second time. Britt was great with design, and any changes or opinions I had. I felt like this was a collaborative effort to give me a tattoo I love. She was upfront about pricing, what would and wouldnt work about the design, and scheduling was simple. Id recommend them, and Britt specifically, anytime. Thanks!

Had Mackenzie do my first ever tattoo. Shop was very clean and they take sanitation (both COVID related and tattoo related) very seriously. Got a diamond shaped landscape on my forearm and Mackenzie was very diligent in placing the stencil. She re-applied it multiple times (at her own insistence) because she wanted to make sure it was perfectly centered from the middle of my wrist to the middle of my elbow and I was appreciative of her eye for perfection in that regard! Rest of the staff was also friendly and willing to lend an eye on the stencil and the ink, really made me feel like they were a team who cared a lot about their craft. Tattoo came out great and Mackenzie made me feel comfortable the entire time. Shes going to do my next tattoo also but the other artists there have great portfolios and I definitely plan to get inked by some of them eventually. One of the main reasons I chose them was they are a female owned and run shop and tattooing is a bit of a boys club so I was happy to support one of many very talented female artists in the area. Would definitely recommend!

I love love love my tattoo from Brittany. I gave her an inspiration picture and she made it look so good. She was so calm during the actual tattooing and I love the way it turned out. You can tell she has passion for tattooing. Would definitely recommend to anyone looking to get tattooed. I like the atmosphere and I felt comfortable in the shop. The only reason I didn’t give 5 stars was because they are hard to get ahold of and they are booked out quite a ways. After my consultation I had to book over a month out for my actual tattoo. Maybe that’s normal? This is only my second tattoo. But over all loved Brittany and the shop. 👍🏻

Sarah is an excellent artist and a lovely human being! I love my tattoo! I explained what I wanted and she drew it up like I saw it in my mind! I had the consult in May and she was booked out for the size of tattoo I wanted until August but I booked the appointment. It was more than worth the wait for this level of quality! All the staff I encountered were professional, kind and enthusiastic that I was there both times I was in. All future work is being done here for sure!

The artist, Heather has amazing talent and is so fun to spend the session with. We always had something to talk about and she made sure I was comfortable the whole time. The staff in general are very friendly and patient. I tend to ask lots of questions and they were always patient with me and answered all my questions. They also make sure to follow all safety recommendations during COVID and I felt very safe being in the shop.

I came in for their Friday the 13th special, and was lucky enough to be in the first 50. I got Britt as my artist; she was so nice, very thorough, and delicate. Even though she had probably already done tons of tattoos, she still wanted to make sure it was perfect. The atmosphere is wonderful, all the women were amazing, overall just a great shop!

I had snagged a consultation with Nikki and schedule my tattoo a few months out. 100% worth the wait. My first appointment was 4 hours long. They are professional, kind and creative. The shop is clean, the decorations are fun and the staff is amazing. My secound appt went well too! Nikki worked around my schedule and had some great ideas for the tattoo. Outstanding customer service!!! Highly recommend.A perk is that this is a local business and women run and owned! 10/10

Britt is absolutely amazing! I gave her my own personal drawing, and she gave me some ideas and helped me set up a drawing appointment. She then showed me her drawing and I fell in love! A few weeks later I had my tattoo! I still absolutely love it! She also gave me all the information on how to take care of it, and when I had questions they didn’t mind it when I called back! Very courteous staff. It seems some tattoo parlors have gruff and unfriendly staff but everyone here was super helpful and patient. I had Kayla fix up a tattoo and she was awesome. She explained what she was doing, her thought process, and was conversant during the procedure so it wasnt awkward. Her prices are fair and she has good talent. Atmosphere is chill, none of those stupid unicorn and rainbow illustrations seen in most other tattoo parlors.

I was tattooed by Sarah back in June, and I had a great experience. I wont lie, when I first walked into the shop I felt kind of a weird atmosphere. Like I didnt belong there or something, but I think thats just because I was there for my first tattoo. Our first consultation was pretty short and easy. I told her what I wanted, showed some inspiration. We talked placement, size, price. I left kind of shocked because she gave me a price estimate of like, $700 (spoiler: it was not even close to that much.) I have since heard that the shop gets a pretty bad rep for overcharging, and maybe some artists do, or maybe people are scared off by the high estimates. Anyways, I came in later for the drawing appointment, which was basically just me checking in, and then Sarah showing me the design she had worked out. I loved it! We talked color a bit and it was over. I cant drive so I had to wait a bit for a ride, but they were very kind and let me wait inside the shop. Next was the day of the tattoo. I had had piercings before, but never a tattoo, so I was pretty nervous about what it would feel like, and how I would react. Sarah was super kind about all of that, and was happy to just chat with me during the entire process. It couldnt have been better, and I found myself just wanting to get more tattoos! The finished product took one session and I think after the tip it was about $350, not bad for the size of the tattoo, and honestly a very low price for the quality of the work and the experience I had. I cant wait to get my next tattoo with Sarah!

I unfortunately did not have a good experience with Nikki. I felt that she did not listen to what I wanted, and was not good at asking questions to help figure out what design I wanted for my tattoo. Perhaps I would have had a better experience if I had prior tattoos or knew more about the process but I didnt and I dont think that she is a really good fit for first time tattoo clients. I am upset that I had spent a total of 9 months of waiting for my tattoo and ended up not feeling comfortable enough with Nikki to go through with it.

Nikki was awesome. Knowledgable, talented AND fun to work with. Answered all my questions. This was my first bigger tattoo and it looks AMAZING. The rest of the staff was fun as well. Will definitely go back and would definitely recommend!

I had a tattoo drawn this morning by Kenzie and had a great experience. The staff was patient and helpful with my requests, and accommodating. It was my first tattoo, and the artist made the process comfortable, casual and friendly. This shop has a great ambience, and the staff is professional and fun.

Very frustrated that they do not answer their phones. I had a consultation appointment that I made 3 months ahead and put in my phone calendar. I thought it was kind of weird because I didnt get any sort of reminder or confirmation close to the appointment so I decided to call just to double check. I am not exaggerating when I say I called them 7 times at various times throughout the day an hour apart. They never answered.... I had also emailed them since they werent answering the phone and I got an email back about 30 min before my appointment. When I got there, the door was locked and it said you had to call them on the phone to let you in. Surprise, they didnt answer the phone... so I waited outside in the cold for 20 minutes, Trying to get ahold of someone to let me in. Eventually someone walked by and let me in. Very frustrating. Definitely wont be coming back to this shop just based on that. The artist herself was very nice. She is starting her own shop so I will be following her.

I recently met Heather when a friend of mine got her tiny dino tattoo. And I knew I had to book her. I have been obsessed with fine line and floral work for some time now and wasnt sure Id find an artist to capture what I was looking for. What was amazing was that I gave her my idea and she came up with a few looks and it was completely custom unlike other artists who want you to provide the picture. I love it so much and she will now be my go to artist for my future pieces - and I have referred her to everyone I know! Thank you Heather! I love my artwork.

Everyone here was great! From the front desk (I think her name was Taylor) to our artist (Lana, with a long a, not like Archers girlfriend), the bathrooms, the studios, everything was exactly the way I wanted it to be. They are an all-female shop, so if youve got issues with that I am very, deeply, and sincerely sorry for your loss.Everything was clean and sanitary. Decor was eclectic but uncluttered, no ridiculous excess hanging around.*About my artist* Lana was amazing. She is a spectacular designer and artist! She had an incredibly light and deft hand at putting ink to skin; I had very little scabbing, the color is solid, her blacks are black and she can pull a COMPLETELY straight line. I do believe the rest of the crew are just as competent, but go to Lana. If you dont suck as a person in sure shell take you as a client and you will get one of the best tattoos in the state.

Taylor is a fantastic artist, and super cool individual as well. She took the time to listen to my (many) changes, but stayed patient until it was exactly what I wanted. I am so pleased with my tattoo and would recommended everyone check this place out!

Tried to get a tattoo here but I ended up not, had a bad feeling about the place. First, when I tried to make an appointment, they were very rude over the phone and never booked the appointment I made. When I was finally able to consult with an artist, she told me my design wouldnt work how I wanted it and told me it would need to be a lot bigger for the kind of detail i wanted. Because of the size, the price was insane. I ended up going to a different shop with my design, they did it perfectly and the size I wanted, at about half the price that this place was going to charge. Do not recommend this place.

Friendly artists and staff. My wife and I got anniversary tattoos done by Lana. Even though ours were simple and not much of a creative project for her, she put a lot of care into the design and making sure we loved the final product. Also, they didnt mind us bringing in a pizza since our appt was right at dinner time. Prices are a bit higher than other places Ive been, but this shop has the best atmosphere by far.

I’ve had multiple tattoos done here and the professionalism and friendliness I have encountered is simply amazing! Emilie is such a sweetheart and does such badass work. At other shops I’ve felt rushed when trying to figure out placement. However, Emilie takes so much care and time making sure the tattoo isn’t only beautiful, but exactly where you want it! Ill definitely be going back for more!

I came in on 8/18 as a walk in. I met with Allison as she had just finished a small tattoo for a young women who couldnt help but share it with everyone. She was stoked. Allison asked me what I was thinking and I showed her a photo. We set up a time later that day have the artwork done. This my first tattoo (at age 64). This piece means a lot to me and the love of my life. Allison, you were great thank you for the great job. I will recommend you! Everyone at the shop was upbeat, staff and customers alike. The shop decor was cool too!

So for my first tattoo I chose to come here. I worked with Sarah who is an amazing artist. I love my tattoo so much. She charged me $400 for a really intricate watercolor tattoo when it would normally be $600. Since it was my first experience I had a tough time getting through the pain with my EXTREMELY low pain tolerance and I ended up crying during my session due to the pain. So all of the staff members were so nice and helped me through it, they were so supportive and incredibly kind. I couldnt complete my tattoo with the watercolor effect I had originally planned so she charged me $200. I would without a doubt recommend this place and if I can suck up the pain will come back.

First tattoo experience and I honestly dont think it could have been smoother. Emilie is an incredible artist, and more than that, I felt so taken care of. Everyone I spoke with was professional, personable, and more than willing to take the time to chat with me and allay any fears or concerns I had. I am so pleased with the outcome, and I know Ill be back in the future!

I went into the shop with a very rough idea of what I wanted for my very first full sleeve. The artwork needed improvising and Nikki helped with the final touches for all three sessions. I am beyond happy with the results and cannot recommend this shop enough!!!

HUGE ripoff. I originally scheduled 3 appointments 6 months in advance. I put down $300 ($100/appointment) deposit & was told at the time that I would be refunded my large deposit if I moved out of state. Due to Covid I moved out of state a couple months before my appointments & called MULTIPLE times requesting a deposit refund. Jolene at the studio left me a message assuring me that I would be refunded, however that never happened. Now I’m out 300 bucks simply because I moved across the country. Extremely unprofessional to lie to a client

Went in today to a flash tattoo charity event. It was an amazing thing to be a part of and knowing that these tattooers support causes in their communities! This all female shop is brilliant💖 The staff is very friendly and welcoming despite going through so many people in such a small amount of time. They make you feel so comfortable and all of the artists are truly amazing! Definitely a place to consider when getting your first tattoo or you 50th! Pic looks wrinkly because of wrap not my skin lol, Janele was really attentive, made sure to ask if I needed breaks or to strech, a very posotive experience.

Perhaps the artist I saw was having an off day, but I left this shop unhappy and with a shaky, rushed-looking piece (despite making my appointment more than a month ahead of time). I ended up needing to get it covered up, it was that bad. This was after having to switch artists because the one Id originally had an appointment with had quit without warning the day before she was supposed to do my piece. Everyone here is super nice, and probably very talented, but I likely will not return.

I worked with Mackenzie and it was a great experience! She was very professional and kept the session calm and casual which was appreciated. I highly recommend her talent. Looking forward to my next one!

The tattooist was very nice and was new to doing the type of work on my arm but willing to give it a try. However, the tattoo had a blow out and is fairly noticable as its blue and on my inner forearm. There is an option to come in after heal time to touch up the tattoo but nothing can be done with a blowout especially of the size I had. Thats unfortunate. To note, I did come in for a touch up for the tattooed portion picture and mentioned the blow.

This place rocks! Welcoming, professional, cool decor and of course very clean. Sarah did amazing line work on my piece and had great feel. I traveled over an hour and will gladly do it again in the future!

If youre looking for a watercolor tattoo NIKKI IS YOUR GIRL!!! I am over the moon with my first tattoo. I had to wait about 3 months for a consultation and 3 to get the tattoo and it was worth it. I am so happy with this and everyone tells me its artwork on my arm. Watercolor is her specialty and not many people do it right. Nikki DOES!!

The artists here are a level above.However they are booked 6 months out just to have a conversation with them, not to get work done... To have a chat.That wouldnt be so bad if the girl working the front desk wasnt a horribly pretentious and rude person who made it clear she was only dealing with me because it was required in her job description.I felt she loathed my presence.I even showered that day!By contrast, i went to guns amd needles just about a few blocks away a few minutes later, and was surprised at the contrast. Nicest, and most helpful shop ive ever been to.

Nikki may be one of the best traditional American style tattoo artist in the city. She has done 3 tattoos for me and each one is better then the last, including an amazing cover-up. This is a great shop that I would recommend to anyone looking for some ink.

I went to get a tattoo to commemorate my brother and love how it turned out. I worked with the artist to create something unique and fit what I was looking for. My only complaint is the amount if time they make you wait and poor time management. I went there three times for appointments and check backs, each time having a scheduled appointment and each time having to wait 20-40 minutes after my scheduled time.

I’ve gotten two tattoos from Kayla now. She’s been great throughout the design process, even day of making a couple of minor changes. Front of the house staff are always friendly and professional. I highly recommend this shop!

UPDATE to the owner: I know how walk-in appointments work. We were able to walk-in to another tattoo shop just fine, wait a couple hours, and got our tattoos. THAT is what walk-in is. BUT when we came in, we were told that all of the walk-in appointments are full because people come super early and there is a cap. When the shop was EMAILED and CALLED, no one told us that they would stop taking appointments after a certain period of time. But hey. That is only my ELEVEN YEARS experience getting tattoos at various shops.Very disappointing. I had wanted to make appointments for myself and my niece to get tattoos. I had emailed and was told that all the appointments are full but we can walk-in anytime on Saturday.So we walk in on Saturday...and all the walk-in appointments are full. We were told there is a line out the door in the morning and it fills up fast. Neither my niece nor I had been told this or to come at a specific time.Such a waste of time and effort.

Lana killed my tattoo! She really worked with me to give me what I wanted. I was okay with a couple of her options but she refused to take okay for an answer. I seriously changed my mind after the stencil was on (sorry Lana) to go with one of her original ideas... shes absolutely great. Would definitely go back to her!

I came to Nikki with a complete idea and she was able to improve and finalize the design and translate it to my skin perfectly (and quickly as I was on my way to a flight)! Very friendly and inviting atmosphere, and though I said I was going to get one and be done, I might get another one just to stop in.

I love my tattoo I got a couple days ago by Matt at MPLS Tattoo. The shop is beautiful, and he was very professional. I felt very comfortable because the artists have their own separate rooms to do their work. I cant wait to go back for my next tat!

The whole experience with Lana was amazing. Most of my purple life, I wanted a Prince tattoo. After his passing that feeling became Inevitable. Lana wanted me and my Bestie happy and boy did she achieve that. It was a clean, exciting and qutck process. I will never forget it. Wow what an Artist

The best most friendly, clean, and badass tattoo shop in Minneapolis! Nikki Time and all of the other shops artists will blow you away with their beautiful art.

One part of their website says they have an $80, then a different part says a $100 minimum. just a way to confuse honest people, I guess. it also says one artist is booking out to July 2018, and other is starting re-bookings again in Sept 2018. Its Dec 2018. update yo website.

I was scheduled for a consultation with Nikki which I scheduled MONTHS AGO!! Tried calling to confirm (since they dont) and no one ever answers the phone or returns phone calls, POOR BUSINESS PRACTICES, LOUSY CUSTOMER SERVICE!!

I saw Janel and she was fabulous. Every encounter I had with employees was fantastic. Will only be getting work done here in the future.

I went in recently for a walk in and was told exactly my weight time, was well taken care of along with thoughts and feedback from my artist! Great experience!

Came for a walk in. Told me I wouldnt be able to get anything until 4. I said Ill be around the area and will come back around then. I even gave them my number. Came back around that time and was pushed to the back of the list.It already took me half an hour to get there. Then waited an hour to come back when they said. Only to be told I would be last on the list. Thats super cool 👍👌

I found the artist dismissive, and they suggested I get a tattoo they drew up for someone else. Would much rather get inked by someone who supports the community they live in and who doesnt applaud the military occupation of the city
