Savannah, IG metalmouthpiercings, is the BEST PIERCER EVA! I’m so serious. I asked her to come up with a design for my performance characteristics and she gave me a complete drive-by body piercing makeover!No. I didn’t get them ALL but I did get exactly what I want AND it hurt worse getting my ears pierced by a gun than Sav.Do you want LOOK and FEEL Almost Famous?

Purchased a cartilage piece and it was broken from the base. Didnt even get a chance to take it out of the package 😕 no refunds or exchanges is disappointing on defective jewelry. Wasnt even offered a free change out while we purchased. Spent over $100 and an hour drive for nothing. Will be sticking to the Mankato location.

I literally never write reviews but I went into Almost Famous Body Piercing yesterday after my shift for a spur of the moment nose piercing, I was able to be seen in about 25 minutes after I went in. I was able to go back with my friend which was nice, Daniel was my piercer and was amazing, I was a little unsure of the placement at first but was reassured by other friendly staff! I love my piercing, the place was clean, staff are friendly and knowledgeable, I will definitely be going back!

I have been getting pierced at this location for 10 years now. I have had nothing but amazing experiences with every staff member over all that time. I got pierced today by Sharon and she did the best job ever! She really walked through all of the different placements we could’ve done for my piercing, and even encouraged me to have her show me a few different placements so I got the perfect one. She was funny, kind, and all around a fantastic person to get pierced by. I cannot recommend this place enough!

I got my septum done last week, and the piercer put in a jewelry piece that was far too tight/small that even i knew it wouldn’t be able to heal properly, with my nose shape. i then showed him a picture from when i previously got it pierced, and he happily offered to switch it out and i was very pleased with how he offered to do that so of course i agreed. he took the piece out then started poking through the hole with something (i forget the name haha), but couldn’t get it through so he called for the other piercer on site and asked for help. the lady was amazing, and was able to get my second jewelry in with ease. both are amazing piercers, and were very kind to my little sisters that were with me.

Lacey was amazing! Walked in on a Saturday to get my nose pierced and was able to be seen in about an hour- wow! Lacey was knowledgeable and explained what all of the tools were and what she was going to do. The facility was very clean and she made me very comfortable. It was quick and she talked me through the whole process. My eyes didn’t even water! 10/10 recommend.

Awesome employees! Sharon rocked, she was super sweet, and kind. She was so helpful and was knowledgeable and we are going back tomorrow for sure to get all the services we talked about with her (they were closing soon). I’d go here if you are looking for piercing and/or jewelry!

Boy do I regret my decision. Went in with my long time boyfriend to get some piercings. The person who helped me was too new to know to tell me that he wouldnt be allowed in with me while I got pierced. After putting down a non-refundable deposit and then going to head back to the procedure room I was told upon entering my boyfriend couldnt be there. I asked if I could have my money refunded then because I wanted my support person there with me. I was told no. It wouldnt be refunded. This honestly made me feel pressured to do it anyway. $40 is my breakfast and lunch groceries for a week, its 2 weeks worth of fuel to get to and from my job. Its no small number for me. So with no option of a refund and not being allowed to have my partner there I went in alone and scared. Sad to see when they have signs talking about supporting LGBTQ and 2 women come out right before me. Seems like they are just anti-straight not allowing me and my partner but allowing anyone of the same sex to go together. I dont recommend going without knowing all the facts because they sure never said that I would have to go alone BEFORE paying a non-refundable deposit.

Would give them no stars if i could! Called the store at 7:30pm, they told me they had an 8:20pm available. Asked to book the appointment, nope they wont do over the phone appointments. Ok, so go down there to book an appointment. Got there at 7:53pm. I had my ID on my phone as I dont carry a wallet. They refused to accept it. So had my bf run all the way back to the car to grab my wallet. Even with me staying in the store waiting for my bf to get back, they would not book me an appointment. By 8:15pm my bf was back with my ID and they supposedly booked up for the night. Stupid way to do business. I would have paid for my piercing in full while I waited. So disappointed in the customer service.

My piercer’s name was Sharon and she was absolutely wonderful, if I get anymore piercings (which I will hahah), I will be going back to her specifically. I was getting my nipples re-pierced and obviously it’s slightly uncomfortable to be shirtless in front of a random woman, but she made the process as painless as possible. She was extremely nice and got the placement beautifully. It was definitely a better experience then when I got them originally pierced by a random in someone’s basement 😂

Keelee did such an amazing job on my piercing. She is Very detailed and patient with us, i would recommend her for all piercing. Please come see her.

My sister got her nose pierced here recently and when we arrived to the store there was nobody ahead of us yet we had to wait an hr before getting service. When we finally got to the back my sister was a little hesitant and scared and expressed her feelings and the lady rudely said if she decides to back out she’d have to pay 25$. Keep in mind we haven’t signed any papers or even converse about the peircing she’d like to get. We didn’t want to pay the fee so we went along and continue to get the piercing. The lady was extremely rough when putting in the needle and took her time with it. My sister began to cry and the lady said “you can wait”. Within the same day the piercing started to swell and get infected where we had to rush to the ER due to the pain. All together this is one of the worst experiences we ever had and I would recommend not coming here.

Buckle up folks. This is going to be a long one.I received a septum piercing from Sharon at this location last week. It appeared crooked upon piercing, but Sharon told me that it was not crooked - it was simply the fact that my nose was swollen. She then called in her manager, who reiterated that my piercing was NOT crooked, but my nose was simply swollen. They told me to let the piercing heal for a month, and if I was unhappy, I could come back and get it redone.Now, I do not live in Minnesota. I was at the mall of America on a trip with friends. There is a location in the city that I live, though, so I assumed that if I needed anything, I could return to the location closer to me.I left the shop, but after a few days, my piercing only seemed to get more crooked. I began to do some research, and I discovered that a piercing should not appear crooked upon leaving the shop. Swelling may cause it to appear crooked over time, but if the piercing is crooked the day I get it pierced, the second I get it pierced, it is a crooked piercing. So I decided to go to another piercer to get a second opinion.First, I tried to reach out to the Almost Famous in my hometown. However, as it turns out, that location is temporarily closed because they do not currently have a piercer on staff. So I went to a local professional piercer.He told me that not only was my septum piercing pierced crooked, swelling be damned, but it was actually pierced in the entirely incorrect location, far below my ‘sweet spot’. He suggested removing my piercing immediately, so as not to allow an incorrectly placed piercing heal any further.I then reached out to Almost Famous, to request a refund for my messed up piercing. First of all, it took three days for them to get back to me, because they didn’t have a manager on staff multiple days in a row. That seems to be a red flag in of itself - why do you not have a manager around every day when you are pushing metal through people’s faces? But when they finally answered my call, I was told that their policy was to not give out refunds, and there was nothing I could do because I had taken my jewelry out. They said I should have come back in a month to get it redone. That would have 1. required me to let an incorrect piercing heal in my nose for a month, 2. required me to drive six hours to minneapolis to have them fix the problem, because my local location is closed, and 3. allow their unqualified piercers, who messed up my piercing in the first place, pierce me again. I read them my signed piercing release form, that not only did not state their refund policy, but also stated that I would “be pierced using appropriate techniques”, which I had not been. They again refused a refund, so instead of resolving the matter with me over the phone, I am now in contact with the Better Business Bureau and Small Claims to get my money back.Do not, DO NOT come here for a piercing. Learn from my mistake and do your research on reputable piercers in your area, because this is not a reputable, professional option.

I stopped in to Almost Famous Body Piercing at the MoA this morning with some friends to wait while they had a few piercings done. The staff in the shop were fabulous. Incredibly helpful, friendly and deftly handing customer needs while managing a long wait. So much so, that I started looking at jewelry for myself. As I looked around and observed the commitment to high quality, professional piercings, I decided to have my own done.Brittany was lovely to work with and Im so happy with my piercings! No wonder the place was busy - Ill be coming back too and would definitely wait no matter the length of the line.

Got my nose pierced here and it went fabulous!! Staff were very friendly and made you feel welcome. Everything was VERY sanitary which is a huge plus. Definitely coming back in the future!!

I went in today to get a septum, I don’t even remember her name but she had 2 braids in the back of her head and bald on top, she miss placed my piercing the first time way up and my nose started bleeding then she ask to do it again or to wait… she gave me an option so I said u can try again, when you tried again, it still came out crooked and on top of that I was very calm and didn’t get mad because I was having a very great day and she ruined it. then, when the lady put the piercings at the top, she’s asking one of the coworkers if I can just pick my own out as if I’m going to steal them and then when I grab the tray to replace them back in front of the worker, she’s like I got it and like snatches it it’s only $12, out of the $200 I spent. mind you I did come in at 6:45 and they didn’t close till nine, They were complaining about still being there, then you were agitated with our children as if they bothered you so much. and then coming as close to even grabbing my hand and moving it. she says that she didn’t do it on purpose, but it was giving that she did it on purpose then she didn’t go up to the front to tell them that she made a mistake. Therefore, they didn’t take no money off and I paid the full price even though the policy might say otherwise it is so wrong to make such a huge mistake when I was worried about getting a piercing in the first place. If anyone is touching jewelry, there should be at least gloves then you guys proceeded to wear gloves and mask right before you leave. As soon as I walk out the door, you close the door right behind me as soon as I’m walking out so Disrespectful, A simple sorry wouldn’t cut it if I end up having a very massive bad infection in my nose…Seems like you guys are just hiring random people and that is so unprofessional and I hope you guys get close down. I will be calling corporate.

Receptionist extremely off putting... rude and unaccomadating to my visually impaired daughter. She acted as though we would run off with the jewelry as we are trying to select the perfect piece. Further more the place was not busy, staff standing around chatting and whispering. They were about 10 min late calling her back. Tiana did a great job. Apparently she was the only piercer working at the time. Though there were 4 other employees present. Immediately after finishing up with previous appt. She serviced us, very pleasant, and thorough. Tiana was awesome. I hope she finds a new place to shine! I wouldnt recommend this place! Customer service is important to me!

Every single person I interacted with was so incredibly nice both times I have gone in! The most recent (and first time I have gone for myself instead of as a support person) my piercer was Abreya. She instantly put me at ease and made the whole experience amazing. All of the people I spoke to at the front desk were super nice as well. I definitely will be coming back for my next piercing as well as when my daughter decides to get her first piercing.

I spent almost $200 on body jewelry for my tragus. I got (2) 16g back pieces. The 4 pieces of jewelry sold to me that goes into the 16g is so thin it falls out. I’ve already lost 1 back piece and 2 front earrings (leaving me only 1 back and 2 fronts left). What was sold to me was not the correct thing and I completely wasted my money.Edit to reply to owner: No I did not call the store or go back in. I was in Minnesota for work and live in Kansas City. I tried to put my new earrings in when I got home to KC the day after I made my purchase. I can happily send photos of the earrings I have to show how far off the sizing is from the back to the fronts I was sold. But again, I’ve already lost 2 of the fronts because they just fall out so those are missing completely. No one offered me a free change out either so how am I supposed to know that’s an option?

Thwy treated me like I was no one. I was just with my family and was just looking in there to buy something until she said something, and then we left. They dont care about people with disabilities

Sharon is awesome! She was able to taper two piercing I thought had closed for me and did a great job piercing my nose.

The staff was very friendly initially when I went in to discuss having my daith piercing changed and I saw the woman write my name on the clipboard for an appointment at 7:15. I spent 30 minutes killing time in the mall, came back for my appointment and new staff was there. I told them my name and appointment time but they said they didnt have my name down and my appointment didnt exist. Their solutions was to make another appointment in an hour. Waste of time.

Experienced great customer service when I was in the store. But unfortunately with the suggestion of one of the employees I was given way too long of a post for my piercing making it uncomfortable. Needing a shorter post I would’ve had to purchase another one. I understand it’s a health code violation but if the customers are trusting you to give the best suggestions and estimates you should have policies in place that ensure the customer is getting the best product instead of money grubbing when I now need a new post. And will be purchasing elsewhere. Unprofessional.

From the time of walking in to walking out, the staff here do not know what customer service is. These people are the most rude and disrespectful employees who don’t do there job. When someone calls to ask what all documentation you need for your daughter to have a piercing done it was a simply birth certificate, drivers license and school id. Nothing was said if your last name is different on the birth certificate you need a marriage certificate. The lady was so disrespectful to me and my family. Policy’s and procedures should be set to be more clear so when it comes to you showing up there your not wasting anyone’s time and drive to get an answer of we can’t help because you don’t have all documentation even though that’s what we were told. I highly suggest do not go to this place it’s not worth it.

I got my daith and tragus pierced by Lacey and she was fantastic!! She was super sweet and professional and explained the entire process super thoroughly. Will definitely be coming back for my next piercing!

I had a wonderful experience with Sharon, she was very knowledgeable and fostered a collaborative experience. I appreciate the help in figuring out my vision! Can’t believe she’s a new piercer, definitely ask for her if you want a fun time. I’ll definitely be back!!

I got pierced by Trystan today and they were wonderful!! They made sure that I was comfortable and were really soothing while they were piercing me!! Totally am gonna go back to get another piercing!!

Walked in on a saturday mid-day when the mall was poppin, with hopes I could get help putting my rook ring back in after it fell out. Every single staff member was SO nice to me and they sanitized my earring for me and put it back in for only $10

Do not get pierced at this location especially for nipple piercings! mine were pierced way too shallow and they were unwilling to compensate me for it in anyway. save your time and money by going somewhere more professional.

I recently went into Almost Famous to get my second round of piercings, and everything about their service is top tier! The prices are fair, the staff is friendly and informative, and their process is very clean and thorough. My piercings have healed very nicely and am definitely going back for round 3.

First time I walked into the store Kaitlyn greeted me and helped me get everything that I needed. Prices are extremely affordable and service is impeccable. definitely coming back!

Im leaving this review because I do not want others in the lgbtq+ community to have the same experience that we had this evening. I have a trans son who happens to be a minor. We have gotten piercings here before with no issues. They refused to do any piercings because his legal name did not match the name on his school ID. For minors they require a school ID, a parents ID along with a birth certificate. We had all of those things and were refused service. I asked for the managers name and she would not provide it. For anyone in who is in the process of transitioning or who may use a preferred name I would not recommend this place because I do not want you to feel invalidated as a person.

First it took 15 minutes to make an appointment for a piercing because the person kept checking people out before me even though I was there first. In that time 2 people got early appointments while I was waiting so I got a later slot. Then when I did come back 12 minutes early for the appointment they said they were running behind. I leave to get a milkshake and come back 5 minutes after my appointment time to find that they have cancelled my appointment and the piercer has left. They didnt care and tried to get me to wait another 2 hours. I was prepared to spend over $200 in that store but clearly they didnt need my money. Not going again.

I got 6 cartilage piercings (3 in each ear) on 1/23/20. The facilities were clean and everyone was polite and friendly. The piercings only took about 15 minutes though the wait to be seen was about an hour. Liz did a fantastic job.

All the employees are such sweethearts. The manager was so nice to my friends and I; she made us feel so welcome in the shop. My piercer, Abreya, was wonderful. She had such an amazing energy and I wasn’t nervous in the slightest bit because of her.My only complaint is that they only take cash tips and they don’t inform anyone beforehand. I don’t think there’s a sign saying cash tips only either.

My daughter and I went to get nose piercings done. Brittany did an amazing job. She explained everything that she was doing ,which made my daughter and I feel comfortable. Brittany also explained after care instructions well. The staff answered all of my questions and had good customer service. I would absolutely come back if I need any of their services and suggest that anyone give them a try.

Very pleased with the service at Almost Famous. Our wait was reasonable, Abrea did a great job with our daughter’s second ear piercing, and the staff was kind and put us at ease.

A lot of their stuff are apprentices at the moment but their apprentices are actually very good. I got a double nose piercing one on each side I was really nervous about them being symmetrical but after a month of healing I could see that its perfect. They were super friendly staff. The only reason why I did not give five stars and only four is just because I would love if the staff gave out a little bit more information on the things that you should be looking out for post op wise. Such as piercing sinkage, irritation bumps, swelling and advice to help with these inevitable issues.

I went here to get my tragus that I had previously pierced a few years ago re pierced. They pierced it significantly lower than where the original piercing was and offered to re pierce it. It was the most painful piercing I have ever experienced and the prices were ridiculous. My recommendation is do your research and read the reviews!

They’re so lucky they are even getting 1 star…if it was up to me they’d get none. I got my forward helix and conch done here. I HIGHLY don’t recommend. The person I had was very new although it still did not seem like she knew what she was doing; Kailey was her name. Her supervisor was there although I don’t remember hers. But I’m sure they misplaced my piercing they were talking about how it sits funny and then said maybe it’s just her ear? They were like we can redo it if you’d like. First off this is a cartilage piercing so no I’d rather you not. They also charge you for the jewelry pieces in 2. Everyone knows the backing comes with the jewelry piece but nope. You have to pay for the backing separately apparently. Also for an industrial piercing you have to pay for 2 service fees. Customer service also wasn’t that great either. I regret going here I don’t recommend whatsoeverPiercing update 6/10/23:Just as I said, I went to another piercing place to have my piercings looked at. Just as I said before my forward helix was pierced at the wrong angle and would not heal! The piercer recommend that I remove the jewelry immediately especially due to the amount of swelling there was. It was causing so much pain. So, yea never again will I ever go here nor recommend. No wonder it called, “ALMOST FAMOUS” they’re name will never grow. They should close just like the Minneapolis location, complete trash and a waste of money!!!

DO NOT GO HERE. The piercers have no idea what they’re doing. I have an uneven philtrum and an extremely terribly done dermal. Go to a reputable piercing shop!!!

Went in and got kicked out because of my service animal I was hopeful to look at or but some nasel jewelry but none they ruined my night

Went here for a septum piercing because the prices weren’t too bad… but i paid the price in terms of service. rude and hostile workers hardly greeted me when i arrived, and audibly laughed when i said i wanted my septum pierced. as the process preceded, small passive aggressive comments about my choice of jewelry, placement, my other piercings and tattoos, hairstyle, and clothing style persisted, with the culmination of two workers laughing and pointing at me. my actual piercing was quickly infected in the days following. i would not recommend this store for anyone who wants a positive experience with body modification and piercing.

My cousin, a professional piercer at a tattoo shop pierced my conch. I went into almost famous to get a jewelry change because the hoop that was put in was causing some problems… They told me that it shouldn’t be a 16 gauge. They also told me it was too soon to have put a hoop in. They told me that I would maybe have to take my piercing out Etc. the prices for piercings here are barbaric. If you go to a tattoo shop it’s significantly cheaper my recommendation don’t go here.

Went here for an emergency jewelry change out due to a piercing bump and the manager, Keelee, was amazing. Empathetic, kind, funny, and extremely gentle. She took what should’ve been a very painful process and made it absolutely painless, helped remove some of the swelling, and we had a fun conversation throughout. I went from a swollen, angry bump with a badly sized hoop (which was stuck and required two pliers to open) that made it difficult to breathe to a very small bump with an adorable flatback stud. I felt immediate relief and it’s all her fault! Thanks Keelee!

I just got a navel piercing from Sav!! They did amazing and were super supportive. Definitely coming back here for more.

Liz and Erin were fantastic! I absolutely would recommend either one. They both were very pleasant, patient and detailed. I hadnt worn earrings in a long time and thought my holes were closed. Instead of Liz and Erin re-piercing them right away, they gently were able to get earrings in without piercing them again. Im so happy!

Awful. I’m assuming the equipment was dirty because all of my piercings got infected. I’ve had piercings before that went well from other places so this was an inconsistency. On top of the health issues, they were also a little too comfortable talking to me. I understand that I need to be comfortable for a piercing, but I was being outright made fun of for my weight and body. I can’t honestly say that I’ll be returning.

I got two piercings yesterday with Tianna and am so happy with my experience! Tianna was amazing! So quick and efficient and nice to talk to! I got a septum and a smiley and both seem to be doing great so far! Thanks again Tianna!!

Took my son to get a snake bite, employee give us a price(120) and inform us that the next available appointment is at 4:00pm. Came back for for the appointment and was inform they are running a little bit behind waited to be called not one of the six employees came and checked on us, an 1/2 hour goes by I went to check to see how much longer. No one was able to give a time frame(again remind yall its seven employees at the front counter). Finally 5:00 came, they called my son back for his appointment, 10 minutes later the employee cames out and states that we had to change the jewelry so now its going to be $155. I understand being short staffed but no one seems to know how to do they job.

Had my piercing done there. Clean, friendly, legit. Needle piercing.My problem:THE PRICES. You arent getting bogo anything. Its usually 35 per everywhere else not 75 Bogo. You save nothing. Now they are even price gouging for inflation instead of cutting the CEOs pay like old America. 🤦🏽‍♀️

I we r in to get two piercings (one in my nose which i had before) and the piercer noticed that we didn’t have to re-pierce the nose and coil instead just use a taper. Doing that saved me healing time! Sam (piercer) was also super great in piercing my tragus, explained the after care really well and had me feeling confident with my new jewelry. Overall the experience great, clean and comfortable!

My best friend and I got pierced today, & had a great experience! Kailey was super informative, super funny, and took their time with the stencilling. Our piercings are lined up perfectly! Thanks!

Got my dermal here almost a. Week ago , my god that was a very painful piercing. I’ve had over 10 in my life! And had to even re pierce some this was by far the worst experience ever , Maggie who did my piercing couldn’t get my dermal to do its thing so she had her supervisor come over and finish it off and thank goodness she was close by , not to mention I probably was bleeding like crazy 😭 pls go to a regular tattoo shop. I wouldn’t recommend someone going there to get pierced by this girl. She said she was sorry and it looked great but it’s like girl u hurt me so bad :( .

I got my ears pierced in November, is been 3 months and not healing , I was doing everything that they recommended so i decided to change my jewelry. I when in to a tattoo shop to change my jewelry the person in the tattoo shop mentioned to me the my piercing is not straight is an angle and my cartilage is shattered so is not going to heal properly or not heal at all and my take much longer if Im lucky so they advice to remove and let it closed and if i want to do it again dont do it in the same area or Im going to have the same problem. Next time go to a real professional dont do it at the mall or is going to be a nightmare

The sign at the front that said “now hiring, no experience necessary, will train”, should have been enough for us to turn around. My daughter got an industrial piercing. It was totally botched and the girls hand slipped while she was pushing the needle through the 2nd hole. We took her to an actual piercing shop the next day hoping to fix it or get advice and TWO piercers said it never even should have been done because of the anatomy of her ear and they said it was placed completely wrong. They took it out and cleaned it up for her. My daughter works so hard for her money and was so excited to get this. $100 completely wasted!

I came in early one day to get an piercing appointment and already they were booked out for the day. I completely understand that, so I came the next morning- even earlier- to ensure that I’d get an appointment. I ended up picking out jewelry and filling out the paperwork, only to be told that the service couldn’t be done simply because my ID was a mere two days expired. Is my age magically expected to change within those two days??I ended up leaving and went to Aloha Monkey in Burnsville where I was immediately treated with respect and was told that an expired ID should not affect anyone’s ability to get an appointment. The employees also seemed a lot more professional there! Don’t waste your time at Almost Famous and head on over to Aloha Monkey!

I have had both of my traguses pierced before but thought I would have to pay to have them redone seeing how I havent had them in for 8+ years. Amanda was my piercer and she was fabulous, she found the holes I had and it was painless and super fast. Not to mention that just having tapered again saved me a lot of money. Super sanitary and just good staff all around. Side note, they have it posted that they wish all their patrons to wear a mask. Please be respectful and put on a mask, doesnt hurt anyone and keeps places like this open.

Very very sweet staff but my piercings were done horribly :( rejected so fast when I’ve never had a facial piercing reject ever😞😞 so so sad about it wish I could’ve just saved my money

I got my nose pierced at Almost famous inside Mall of America and chose to go with a hoop(Hinged hoop is the type they offer for beginner nose piercing). Once I left I noticed the hoop was not closed so I called and asked if they would be able to close it, they essentially said the piercer is pretty busy and I would have to wait a while until she has free time. So I messaged a local tattoo parlor and asked if they would be able to close it to which they replied “ Hi, I would never pierce a nostril with a hoop, not to mention a hinge ring -- so I would want to switch it to an implant grade titanium post” So I went into the shop and the piercing took a look at my piercing and said the Almost Famous piercer pierced my nose at an angle that damages the nose tissue significantly & stated the jewelry would not lay correctly . She recommended to take the piercing out and let it heal completely and go back in to her shop to re-pierce it at the correct angle, I took her advice & did just that. Morale of the story is, if you don’t want to pay to get your nose pierced twice and get it done correctly the first time -Get it done at a tattoo parlor -Not inside a mall.

I went to this location in early August and got my Conch pierced. It was a great experience and Sam was wonderful, answered all my questions and explained the whole process.I just didn’t like the fact that I HAD to buy the sea salt soak and piercing wash for the healing stage. I asked Sam if I could just use my sterile saline (same stuff I used when I got my n1pples pierced, they healed great.) She said, “no. You can use that in addition to our stuff. But, you have to buy it.”Don’t get me wrong, I LOVE my piercing and it’s healing great..with sterile saline. I just didn’t like the fact I was forced to buy something I didn’t really want to

My freind recommended this place so I took my 8 month old daughter yesterday for her first ear piercing. Allison pierced my daughter’s ears, the process was very smooth for my daughter she’s just as happy and prettier with her new earrings. Allison did a great job she was nice, friendly and professional and so was the rest of the staff. The whole experience was amazing. The place is well kept and very neat.Thank you all!

The people here were very friendly, I got my belly button pierced and It’s very cute. My piercer was Ari and they honestly did such a good job talked to me the whole time because I was so nervous and wouldn’t shut up lol. Didn’t even feel the needle go through! That’s how good they were. Healing process is going good, definitely will be going back for more piercings.

Went to purchase new nipple jewelry. Talked to the 1st salesperson about what we were looking for and had I thought a good discussion. Left the store to think about it and check another place before coming back. A different salesperson helped us when we came back. Same conversation held with them, they grabbed the jewelry without sizing or anything. Turns out the size is 2x SMALLER than what I actually need. Zero return policy, which I can understand. Was given the runaround when I called asking what they could do. They will resize for full price AGAIN! Im now out not only the $52 spent there, but another $90 because I had to go to another piercer to have them correct the situation. Very unprofessional and definitely wont return.

They are friendly, but you cant make an appointment, and even if you get there 2 hours before closing, they sometimes fill up so you cant get pierced. I drove all the way out there (45 minutes) and couldnt get pierced one day, and I was really hoping to.

Skye was our piercer. She was very attentive, kind, and made us both comfortable! I hope when we go back she is still there!

Went there to get two nostril piercings. Was a great experience. Everyone is super nice and happy to answer questions. My peircer was Amanda, they walked me through everything and made the process of being stabbed with a pointy object easy and a pleasure. I ask for an opinion on a navel piercing I got somewhere else that was struggling to heal. Amanda made time to look and quickly diagnosed what they thought was the issue. We took it out because of odd placement and I will be getting it redone here. Extremely happy with their work and will be coming back for all future piercings.

Dont get me wrong the people that work there are AMAZING!!!And our piercer Erin went above and beyond!Disclaimer: If you have a young child or this is your first piercing in your ears I highly recommend you get the long posts.As a person who pierced ears when I was younger; I was unaware there was such a thing as long or short post options when it came to first time ear piercings.The front of My daughters earring got completely scabbed over and was stuck in her ear and we needed to go to the Urgent Care!!!Now my daughter has one ear pierced and the other one healing it has been a awful experience!I HIGHLY recommend making sure that you get the LONG POST so this does not happen to you!

Pretty rotten experience and poor customer business model. Not only are there rarely openings, but they put up so many barriers to actually getting in for a simple ear piercing. The staff was also stoic and uncaring. After trying to get in no less than 5 times, we went to The Aloha Monkey in Burnsville instead and it was easy peasy and an overall great service experience. Almost Famous could learn a thing or two.

Britt was our piercing and did an awesome job. My daughter got her eyebrow and septum pierced. Very knowledgeable and friendly. Will visit again when we are in the area.

If you want to go and get a piercing done go see SAM. She did AMAZING. I wanted to get my nipples done for the longest time so I finally did. She was talking as we knew each other and we’re friends which helped me relax so much. She was quick and professional. I’m so happy I decided to go here.I got them done on Friday and it’s now Monday and they don’t even hurt and they look amazing!

They tell you something one time and its different next time you call or show up not a trusting place at all go support the local places NOt worth your money or time here

I went in to get my nose pierced. The people working the registers were so kind and easy to talk to. My friend came along and decided to get a piercing with me. We finished the paperwork and were told to be back in half an hour. When we came back there wasn’t a wait at all! Liz did our piercings and she was phenomenal! I had mentioned I had some anxiety about it and she went on to explain what she was doing as she was doing it. As well as explaining what each tool did as she opened them. It really helped ease my nerves. We had a fantastic experience and are very likely to come back.

Almost famous did an amazing job with my nostril piercing!! They spoke me through every step and made sure I was alright. Ari from the Bloomington, Mall of America location was specifically incredible. My sister who accompanied me had fainted after watching ME get the piercing and she handled the faint with great reaction time and did a great job making sure we both were okay! The piercing barely hurt and now I have a a wonderful piercing to remember an awesome experience and a super funny story! Thanks Ari!!

DO NOT GO HERE: save your time and money.I got my nose pierced 4 weeks ago. I had always wanted a hoop and didn’t know that you shouldn’t start with one. They acted like it was totally fine to do it. After it became very irritated i went to specialist near me. Not only that but after talking to 2 other specialist they said it was not pierced in the correct spot nor should you ever originally get it pierced with a hoop because it won’t heal correctly. They had to take it out and i have to wait another 2 months to repierce it with a stud. Also they had very few of the options jewelry. I’m very disappointed.

I would love to give them 5 stars cuz we had a great experience when we went. However, after we referred close friends there and they were treated horribly, I was just so embarrassed and mortified! So now, The MOA location has lost us and any future referrals :( What a shame and again, I just felt horrible our friends wasted time going there on what was supposed to be a special occasion! It made their special day stressful and my referral was intended to make it FUN! Managers please work on your teams customer service skills!

Went to get both of my ears pierced and there was no wait! The front desk lady was super nice and Liz is amazing! Liz was super quick and informed me of all the proper ways to care for the piercings! Thank you for making my first piercing a wonderful one! Will definitely recommend friends and family!

They got me in within an hour. Amanda is the one that pierced me, I got a hoop in my nose.. I was SO scared and had to go in by myself which made me even more nervous 😬 but she kept reassuring me that it doesn’t hurt. And she pierced it so fast I didn’t hurt at all! I’ve had it for 24 hours and no swelling at all and no pain! 10/10 recommend! I loved it there ☺️

I walked into the shop, was helped immediately! They stated it was a 30 minute wait, by the time I filled out paperwork and picked out a stud for my tragus and a hoop for my conch I was ready to get pierced. Gretchen was wonderful! She explained the whole process, made sure I knew it was all sterile instruments and was quick and painless when doing the piercings. Overall it was a wonderful experience! They do not allow you to make tips using a credit card so I wish I would have known that before going in! I will most definitely be back and will recommend this shop to others.

Everyone there was beyond sweet and helpful, I came for an industrial piercing its pierced so high you can barley see the bar. I asked after she marked it if we could lower it a the slightest bit and she said we couldnt. Im not sure why because my ear is the same thickness it was where its pierced.

Manager Keeley was able to easily resolve an issue I experienced. I really appreciated her customer service skills and professionalism.

Front desk was very friendly and helpful, the piercer Matt was an absolute sweetheart. I got my right nostril done to go with my left nostril, and septum. He took the time to make sure the placement of the piercing was even with the other one. He was very friendly and personable. I will definitely try to come back when he is working again! ♥️

A friend and I went and got a couple piercings there this past weekend and Gretchen did a wonderful job talking us through and explaining things- as well as getting things done. I was happy with the outcome and everyone was super friendly, super accommodating and able to answer any questions asked. Also with how busy it seemed, we still got in and out pretty quickly.

My daughter and I went to the MOA store, and were very impressed. Professional, friendly staff. Clean and organized. My daughter loves her nostril piercing, and I am so excited to finally have my new tragus piercings! Just an fyi that they are not making appointments until you stop in and fill out paperwork. But it didnt take long. We were there on a Saturday mid-afternoon, and only had to wait about 45 minutes to get in.

I would definitely get pierced here again! Staff was very kind and helpful. In my opinion the prices are very affordable, especially with the buy one get one piercing deal. I went in on a weekday afternoon and I was able to walk in, get pierced, and walk right out! The store and piercing room was very clean and well kept! I would 100% recommend Almost Famous Body Piercing to anyone.

I came in on a busy a** Saturday, picked out a bunch of jewelry, taking forever, asking questions; then after realizing I impulsively picked out way too much for my budget (everything’s so pretty 😍), I had to take off a bunch, and I paid with both cash and card.Point is, besides trying to be as kind as I can be I was probably one of the most difficult customers they got all day.The wonderful ladies there were SO incredibly patient, I forgot to get the name of the awesome woman who mainly helped me out, but she continued to stay with me, answering questions, picking out jewelry without dropping her smile once. Even after I realized I had gone overboard and had to put some back, she didn’t mind at all and continued to be so patient with me. These ladies deserve so much more credit then they get. I spent $75 on changing out jewelry & tip and on my car ride home when I scratched my ear, the jewelry literally fell out. The post was not the size of the top. It was much larger and to accommodate the size the tech bent the post. It would have been helpful if it had a even slight snug fit to it but it did not. I contacted the store and while yes, they apologized the refuse to refund me or replace the jewelry. I do not recommend them as they clearly care about their sales and not their customers.

I went in to get a jewelry change. The new jewelry didn’t fit so I opted to get my old jewelry put back in. Long story short the piercer broke my $100 internally threaded jewelry. She end up giving me some other jewelry. The break you buy policy should go both ways. Customer to business, business to customer. The jewelry I was given isn’t even CLOSE to the same quality jewelry that was broken. The piercer was super sweet and apologized profusely but I expect to be compensated the same or better value of lost I taken. It’s very frustrating to see the owner reply to others reviews BUT mine

Loved our experience here!! They used sterile technique for all supplies used and you could see the girls thoroughly cleaning the piercing rooms up and down before we got our piercings. My piercer was Adri and she did a good job explaining everything that she was doing and how to care for our piercings afterward. Definitely recommend if you are at the MOA and want a piercing!!

Very helpful sales people. Just went for replacement studs. Just seemed pretty expensive for what I got. Employees wore masks and only a certain number of people were allowed in the store at a time. Currently, it sounds like if you need a piercing, you need to make an appointment, they suggested calling first thing in the morning of the day that you want your piercing. Seemed to very detailed regarding CDC guidelines. You sanitize your hands as you are allowed to enter the store. If you are getting a piercing, your temperature will be checked. I was pretty impressed on how they had this worked out.

They did a great job on me and my daughters nose piercing. They need to change their scheduling practices though. Its a walk-in shop but its almost impossible to get a reasonably-timed, same-day appointment when you walk in, if you get one at all.

I got my double cartilage piercings the other day from Maggie and I had such a great experience! The staff were very friendly and made it very comfortable for me. I will definitely be going back for future piercings or jewelry if needed! highly recommend to others and I had a great experience for my first time being here.

Great experience! Walked in to the MOA location for a double helix piercing and they got me in quickly. The shop had a lot of jewelry options to choose from! Matt was amazing!! Super friendly, calm, precise, and made sure all my questions were answered. I love my piercings and will definitely be back soon! :-)

AVOID AT ALL COSTS !While most employees at Almost Famous are kind, they obviously lack experience and knowledge when it comes to setting a piercing up for success. Any shop that offers steel or acrylic jewelry, externally threaded jewelry, nose bones, snake eyes piercings, gun piercings or tells you its okay to put tea tree oil on your piercing is an automatic red flag. Almost Famous wont even tell you what brand of jewelry they are putting into your body; any reputable shop would be more than happy to tell you what brand they are using and even show you the mill certifications for their jewelry. Not only is Almost Famouss jewelry lower quality than Spencers, but they will also give you the option to start out with a hoop for most piercings which is a HUGE NO. Hinged hoops should NEVER be put into a fresh piercing, the seams will rip and tear the piercing channel apart, leading to longer healing times and increased irritation. Hoops also move a lot more than studs, which can irritate the piercing and allow bacteria to enter more easily. Their aftercare is also beyond outdated. The ONLY thing you should be putting on your piercing EVER is prepackaged sterile saline solution, such as NeilMed. Almost Famous will forcefully sell you soap and salt and tell you to put them on your fresh piercing 3 times per day, which will do nothing but cause irritation. They will also tell you its just swelling when they perform a piercing incorrectly, and then tell you to wait until after their repierce policy time frame to get it looked at or redone. Being licensed through the state means nothing if you arent also part of the Association of Professional Piercers. If you want your piercing done right the first time and to have it heal properly, please go to an APP approved shop such as Sacred Siren, Leviticus, Electric Strawberry or Subjective Art.edit: love that they never responded because they know theyre the worst ❤️

I got a piercing here about six months ago. Its a very clean and professional place. They are all very friendly and accommodating. I went in to get my belly re-pierced after it rejected a couple of years ago. I told them that, and they made sure I was pierced with titanium this time, which worked well because it is all healed! Amanda was an awesome piercer, made me feel really comfortable. Not to mention, she perfectly hid my old scar. She definitely knows what shes doing, and Ill probably make more trips up to MN (Im from SD) to get pierced by her! Thanks Amanda!!

Just had my second lobes pierced. The staff is professional, friendly, and taking extra precautions for COVID. Theyre well stocked - they have pretty much anything you could need as far as jewelry, and the store isnt cluttered or crowded. Marz was my piercer, and was amazing! Very light handed, quick and informative. Overall an amazing quality experience, and in the mall no less! It was as painless an experience as you can expect for being permanently poked, and I 100% will return here in the future for all my jewelry and piercings.

I came in today to get snakebites. The woman at the counter was very nice and welcoming. she got me set up with the paperwork and picking out my jewelry quickly. Only waited about 5 minutes before I was brought back to get the piercing. Amanda did a great job with my captive hoops it was very quick and painless without any unnecessary poking. I would definitely go back.

Been here two times, first time for my daughter and 2nd time for myself. Very professional and courteous. The place is very clean. Love Maggie, the girl who pierced my ears. She is down to earth funny and knows what she’s doing. My daughter did a good job here, didn’t cry from pain as they use the gun, overall quick process. 2nd time was for me, only took 30 mins from selecting earring, filling out form, getting pierced, going over care, and paying for the service. The girl who serviced me at the checkout was wonderful too, sadly I forgot her name but I remember i chose the same color and style earrings as her. She was wonderful in explaining the difference in metal, which ones were good against water (I don’t like to remove earrings). She had fantastic customer service. Would come back again.🤗

I went here 07/02/22 and had the most positive experience ever! I went in for a septum piercing and the staff was so very friendly. One in particular had a banger fit and a they them pronoun pin which made me feel included and this person on particular was hyping me up for the piercing. The piercer themself, ari, was perfect, she was friendly and lined up the piercing and it didnt hurt at all. Ive had the piercing for a few days and it hasnt hurt AT ALL except if I hit it. Not the best place to get a piercing for a dermal piercing face change I had to go back twice to get my face re tighten. Happened the third time just ended up learning its better to change it yourself. Has some cool jewelry though.

They seem to be unclear on the whole ”walk-in” concept. If you are going to only accept walk in clients, then the piercers need to be available when the store is open. If you dont have piercers on staff full time, at least PUBLISH THE SCHEDULE. Ive been back twice, and neither time was there a piercer in store. And I asked, and was told they opened at 10 on Friday, but the clerk didnt bother to tell me that the piercers didnt come in til afternoon.

I was planning on surprising my daughter with getting her ears pierced for her 11th birthday. I had called our doctors office and they recommended Almost Famous. I called ahead of time to ask a few questions. The person I spoke with was very helpful and before hanging up let me know that I would need to bring in her birth certificate (or a copy). I also knew enough to bring in her student ID to be on the safe side. When we arrived, everyone who we came in contact with was very friendly and helpful. They all made it a very positive experience! I asked the bottom line cost before we went forward so there were no surprises on my end. I was very impressed with their care & concern for privacy and cleanliness (coming from a line of work in a sterile field I greatly appreciated this!). I wont hesitate to come back again even though its a 1 hour drive. Totally worth it!

I came in for a piercing in early summer. The process was quick, (relatively) painless, and much smoother than expected. The piercer was polite, professional, and knowledgeable. I felt so comfortable that I even agreed to let an apprentice watch! My piercing healed extremely quickly and I love it. Not only does it look good, but the jewelry is great quality. I am planning on checking out their northeast location for my next piercing!!

I my piercer (Taylord) was super awesome! she made me feel super calm and didnt rush anything. I had a dizzy spell after my two piercings and she kept making sure I was okay and let me lay down till I was for sure okay. My piercings turned out great and cant wait for them to heal! All the workers there were so kind and super helpful with picking out my jewelry! Overall Im happy with how things turned out!

Came here with a friend a few days ago and got the buy 1 get one free piercing deal they had going on. The staff there was very friendly helping us choose the jewelry for the piercings and just chatting g with us about our options. Our piercer did the piercing nice and quickly, probably the fastest and least painful Ive gotten done this far. And we absolutely loved the final results! My friend and I will definitely be coming back here to get any other piercings we are interested in getting done. I had previously been told at a different tattoo/piercing place that I couldnt get certain piercings because my ear was not right to get it. But here they told me that I could get the ones I desired without difficulty. Overall had a fantastic experience!!

Great place I was skeptical cause it in the mall but well worth it!! The three employees that helped me all went above and beyond and were very nice and helpful!! Big thanks to cirby, ari, Amanda! I left with exactly what I wanted and felt almost nothing during the piercing they were gentle and made sure I was completely comfortable and happy before I left! 10/10 would recommend

Piercings are good. Hardware is trash. Had my septum pierced and a one of those ball rings inserted. Less than a month the ball falls out through no fault of my own. Am I offered a replacement? Nope. Told I need to buy another one. For the amount of money they charge (and you can find cheaper on line), youd think a little customer service would be forth coming. Nope.ETA No one mentioned anything about $1.99 replacement beads when I called to complain. I was told, oh well. You gotta buy an entirely new hoop. This must be something new.

I went in yesterday to get my Daith and forward helix done. I found the front desk staff to be welcoming, friendly and patient with me while I hmm and haaa’d over the jewelry. They educated me on what types I can and can’t have with it being a new piercing. They take sanitation seriously and I appreciate this as I am a healthcare provider (PA-C) , so it was great to see the precautions they took, I didn’t mind waiting the little extra time while they cleaned the rooms and got the equipment ready. Amanda did my ears, she was quick, friendly, professional, and I felt she truly knew what she was talking about. I have had my Tragus done here before and also had a good experience. I’ve had other piercings (lobes, cartilage and neck/nape) done other places and I truly find Almost Famous as my favorite place to go. I did not experience a long wait time at all. Overall 10/10 and I love both of new piercings. Thank you to everyone especially Amanda!

Almost famous seems like a pretty cool establishment, especially for a chain piercing store. I got my septum pierced here and the process went relatively quick and smoothly. The shop is very clean and the piercing room was very sanitary. Charlie, my piercer, opened all of the tools in front of me after washing her hands twice and putting on gloves. The piercing did not hurt and she was very gentle when putting on the ball. My piercing is not overly sore, crooked, and does not have any of the issues people may notice directly after a body piercing. My only issue is with the customer service. The people at the counter were reserved and talked to customers briefly and without hospitality (little to no smiling, no introduction of who they were, acted with disinterest, and gave out little information.) I remember one woman was bent over and resting her elbow on the counter with her head in her hand while she talked to me-- unprofessional and made me think she was bored. I was not effectively walked through the piercing process and my piercer recited the aftercare procedures like it was a disclaimer at the end of an advertisement, turning around while talking to me to clean the trays behind her with alcohol. I was not offended by this, it simply was unprofessional. I do not believe this attitude to be true to all Almost Famous shops; I visited the store on 405 central Ave the day before and even though I wasnt getting a piercing I was talked to very professionally and the woman at the counter was very knowlegeable and happy to help. Its a piercing place in a massive mall-- I wasnt surprised at the lack of service, it also was a weekend. If you want a personal experience where you feel fully comfortable and informed, go someplace local.

I’m not sure how they managed to mess up my septum piercing but they did! A 13 year old could have done a better job with a safety pin in their bathroom :). I called to voice my concern and complaint and they said “she’s been a piercer for over 10 years, I think she knows what she’s doing”. Didn’t seem like she did though, that’s the thing.

Terrible, terrible service.I had my septum Jewlery switched out and the Jewlery fell out that same night. They do not screw on tight enough.The 3 girls upfront absolutely lack customer service skills and not knowledgeable on the sizing of the Jewlery. The piercer should be helping with correct sizes since the front girls are clueless. The 3 girls were more worried about the pizza they ordered coming on time and not helping customers, highly unprofessional.I go the next day at noon and they state there’s appointments available and will not accommodate getting me in to repurchase the same Jewlery again for them to put in.They also make you physically come in the store vs calling and being able to schedule same day. Even when you come in when they open, their fully booked somehow. Clearly they don’t want business.Avoid and don’t even bother wasting your time and money.If I could give zero stars I wouldNEVER. AGAIN.

DO NOT GO HERE!!!!!I was told the person doing my piercing was the manager and that she has been there for 12 years. So i trusted that my piercing would be done well...Not only is my bar TOO SHORT for swelling and causing a lot of pain but the piercing is CROOKED! I was also told from an outside source that a labret piercing is hard to mess up. Yet this person with 12 years of experience managed to do it 🤔So now i have to get it removed and wait for it to heal to get it pierced again.When i called to ask for a refund i was told they dont do refunds at all. Even tho the MANAGER messed up my piercing and i have to get it redone.Im embarrassed to have even trusted you guys. And Im very disappointed. Very unprofessional to not own up to a mistake like this. Not even a partial refund??? What a waste of $100Anyways dont go here for your own safety

I bought a set of nose studs on Sunday and showed her which set I wanted. Of course everything is behind glass and you cannot really see exactly how they all look like.I got my set, drove home, finally had a chance to look at the studs and found out they would not be flush to the nose at all.I called them and asked if I can exchange them for other ones. I haven’t even opened the bag with the piercings yet.The person on the phone didn’t care at all, said it’s my fault and the policy says I cannot return them at all.I didn’t expect my money back, I just wanted to exchange them or get a store credit.I will definitely not be back! Not a good way to treat customers.

Very pleased with the service! I’ve been thinking about getting my nipples pierced for a couple years now but my modesty with my body has held me back. I finally decided to just go and do it. I had Amanda as my piercer and she was extremely professional and I felt complete comfort with her. I’m very very happy with my experience. :)

I got my piercing done while visiting some friends in Minnesota. Leaving the shop things looked fine, swollen from the actual process itself but nothing unusual. A few days later after my swelling had finally gone down I could tell that my piercing was not sitting straight at all! It is so crooked and for the price I paid ($100+) it should’ve been a straight piercing. Now I’m trying to figure out how to fix this when I can’t go back to the location I got pierced at, as I don’t live in Minnesota. For the money you pay at this place you should get a quality piercing and this was not it.

Got the upper flat part of my ear pirced and the girl pieces it at a COMPLETE ANGLE!! it’s literally slanted completely and it’s been 8 months has not healed still itritatted. I called to see if I could have somone look at it and see how bad it was so i could be refunded and they said nope not after 60 days. I explained that I was told to not touch or change my pricing until 6 months. It’s always been irritated and never healed so I waited a little longer and when I finally decided to take it out to check underneath and noticed the angle! And called them. After being told nothing can be done I went to a real shop and they told me I had tissue damage and I could not have this spot repriced as it was to much scar tissue. This is so dissapointing and makes me so upset. This was a piecing I wanted for a while and it was supposed to be my last one. And now I can even have it. OR be refunded. This place is so unprofessional and does not know what they are doing. I would not get pierced here.

I visited the shop yesterday. I had a very good experience. The receptionist was very friendly. She advised me that there was an hour wait which was fine and understandable. My piercer was Maggie and she was awesome. I was comfortable and very pleased with everything. My husband also had a good experience few days before when he went in to purchase the gift card.

Amanda & her employers (all of them) were very well educated when it comes to piercing! I am 56 & have wanted a nose pierce for 30 years. Amanda is full of information regarding a nose pierce! It was hard to find a reputable salon in Mpls./St. Paul that would do a face pierce during this mask wearing time but this salon did it, with professionalism & safety! I was actually going to drive out of state to have it done but found them at the last minute & was so glad that I did! No regrets! Before I walked out I was actually thinking of getting a second nose pierce! Thank you Amanda for your service!P.S. don’t forget to generously tip!

I came in this location to buy jewelry this weekend. We walk in it was 5 people behind the counter. No one greeted us. We were in there for at least 15 minutes until I finally decide to go up to the counter and try to get help with some jewelry I wanted to buy so I was getting ring out for my jewelry and I asked her anyone place the jewelry in she told me no I will have to make an appointment, but I normally come here buy jewelry and they put it in for me. It just left a really bad taste in my mouth because the customer service was horrible and I come there all the time so after this experience, I would never return to this location.

I came in about two weeks ago to get my helix and nostril pierced, and I had a great experience! At first I was very skeptical about the store because it was in a mall and well... mall piercings can be pretty sketchy! But one of my friends had their helix pierced at this location and brought me with. I was amazed by how friendly the staff were! The rooms they pierce in look like doctors offices and feel very clean. They used sterile equiptment and opened the packages right in front of me. My nostril has been healing incredibly, but my helix did get infected... its completely on me though 😂 cant seem to keep my fingers off of it!My only complaint is the selection of piercing jewelry isnt large, it is definitely enough to find something you like though.I will be coming back in the future!EDIT (almost 2 years later): My nostril piercing has been healed and great for some time, my helix on the other hand... I had to take it out last year. Despite doing a full course of very strong antibiotics, the swelling, irritation, and oozing did not subside at all. I developed a very large bump on my ear. I noticed while cleaning it that if I felt the rim of my ear, where the cartilage starts, there was a dip in it. My ear is a bit of an odd shape, and I was able to determine that the piercing had most likely been placed incorrectly. The site has been healing a bit better since I removed the jewelry, but it still becomes irritated at random times. It is even more misshapen than it naturally was, and I dont even have the piercing to show for it :(. I think I would still come back, but Im very hesitant to get more piercings on that ear.

Almost famous is right for the name. I was in town from Texas and saw online that they had plug hoops. So I decided to stop in my last day in town. While there i saw they had some organic plugs and was eager to buy some. Had finished making my selection and asked a young girl behind the counter if she could open the case for me and I was told to wait a moment. No problem. However I waited and waited all while she was talking and giggling about her drama at home about her roommate with 2 other coworkers. We exchanged glaces about 4 times and I waited over 10 minutes and decided to walk out. For a place that only lets 2 people in their front room at a time they really need their employees to focus on customer service. What a disappointment.

I got my cartilage pierced there and both of the ladies working were attentive and professional. My piercer made the process quick and (almost) painless. Ive come to them for studs and earrings before and the jewelry is made out of high quality material.

This is the only piercing shop I trust and Im happy to keep coming back! Just today, I got both my right and left traguses pierced (thank you, Alexis!), and within the last two years I have gotten a total of 7 piercings at this shop and Ive always been happy with the results. Everything is very sanitary and hygienic, as when youre in the piercing room you see the piercer thoroughly wash their hands and put on new sterile gloves before removing all the equipment and jewelry from new, sterile, individual packages. The piercers are also very kind and understanding, and every time Ive gotten a piercing the person doing it has been very efficient while also talking me through the pain and making sure I was doing well while the piercings were being performed. All of the employees that I have met have been very friendly, helpful, and knowledgable about both the products theyre selling and the services they provide, which is the main reason why I keep coming back here for both new piercings and just to buy/change out new jewelry. I definitely recommend getting your piercings done here, they dont disappoint!! :)

My friend and I just went here to get our double and triple earlobe piercings, and it was a great experience! We were able to get a reserved time by walking-in, and our piercer, Matt, was very professional and nice! Not only was he kind by walking us through everything, but he also gave us a two-step ear cleaning kit and explained how to carefully and effectively care for our ears! I would highly recommend for others to go to Almost Famous for their next body piercing!

I went there about 9 months ago for my belly button and cartilage. The woman who did my piercings admitted she just started working as a piercer. My cartilage and belly button still have not healed and I do all the cleaning correctly and even changed out the jewelry to pure silver. Very unhappy with the service and the results. I went back about a month after I got my piercings done with some general questions and the woman who did my piercings refused to answer any of my questions. If I could go back in time and just go to a tattoo shop, I would. Now I just have pain in the spots and constant oozing and sometimes even bleeding. I went to my doctor with concerns of an infection but she said I’m fine. Long story short- do not go here.

My friend and I had a great experience today with Matt and Kat. Two very knowledgeable, personable, and helpful piercers! They talked me and my friend through the whole process, made sure we were happy with the placement, and made friendly conversation the entire time to make sure we felt comfortable! I will definitely be back after the experience I had with these two :)

Went here for the first time on my birthday and loved it! Everyone was very friendly, the woman who pierced my naval was absolutely wonderful. She was very efficient. I saw her take the tools out of the package, she wore gloves, and the room looked very clean. The young lady made me feel very comfortable and made sure I was okay with everything before and after getting the piercing done! She knew what she was doing and went over the cleaning process step by step. I told one of the staff members that I had sensitivity to some types of jewelry and she pointed me in the direction of the jewelry that would be best. My piercing is healing very well and I love it! if I were to get another piercing I would go here forsure! Thank you AFBP!!

The piercer, I think her name was Kate, was insufferable. She called me fat and she pierced the wrong nipple. I only recommend this place if you like getting holes in unsuspecting places.

Ive gone in for multiple piercings now, as have my friends, and have had a fantastic experience each time. Matt and Elise are knowledgeable, prompt, professional and friendly and put everyone at ease. Theres a wide array of non-irritating and sterilized jewelry, and the piercing process is hygienic, clean, and extremely gentle because they dont use guns.

Liz pierced my septum and third ear holes! She was super professional, nice, and clean. She let me know what was going on every step of the way and gave me instructions on piercing aftercare. She was also very knowledgeable when I asked her questions. I recommend this place and I will definitely be going back :)

My friend and I randomly walked into the store and decided to get piercings together. The staff was very friendly and handled all of our complicated and probably annoying questions. The staff was fun to joke with and easy to get along with! Our piercer, who’s name I think was Eva..? (She has the fun color hair-green&black) was AMAZING! She was fun, she related to us in every way possible, her small talk was perfect, she kept us calm and relaxed the whole time, explained everything amazingly, and answered all of our questions. We will definitely be back in the future!

Worst place I will ever go to, I have been here four times. Firstly, I got my nose pierced with my friend, came back for nose ring change with her and then I came again with my boyfriend twice . This last time, I was looking at nose ring then this lady came up and helped me out without asking me if I want it change but I told her I removed my ring two days ago, it should be faster and easier for you guys to put the new one, then after paying she put it in a bag that I should take. I explained to her I always come here to change it I can’t do it myself and she insisted I take it because their policy don’t accept refund, I was not told that all these while I have been coming there. It could be solve with someone changing it but there didn’t refund my money and they kept my purchase as they claim there was no availability. As long as I didn’t touch the item and I did payment before they told me it was a policy, I expected a refund. But they keep going back and forth then they ignored me which I left there without the item nor the refund. Worst experience here with no customer service. I Will never recommend this site.

Got an 8g septum piercing done here! The girl who pierced me put a needle through my nose with the calmness of a monk, and that really helped me to not freak out. She gave me the rundown on maintaining the piercing and had answers to any questions I could imagine, even about other uses for the multipurpose tape for stretching ears. If youre in the area, theyll take good care of your dreams to have holes poked through your body. My only complaint is that they said they physically could NOT pierce my nipples together with a single ring, which is okay because that would ruin my life. All healed up now and many compliments later, I continue to recommend!

I called ahead. Told them I wanted to get my 8 year old daughter’s ears pierced and asked if I needed an appt and what I needed to know. They told me to just walk in..... I did. Then they told me I had needed to bring her birth certificate. 🙄When I told them I didn’t bring it and that I felt frustrated because I had even called ahead of time they were unapologetic. I got them pierced elsewhere. It was cheaper and worked fine others much more friendly and accepted my driver’s license license and no birth certificate.

Clean and professional! They have a good system.. I only had to wait an hour for my appointment and the actual piercing prosses was quick and to the point... I had so much anxiety about how awkward it would be to get my ( . ) ( . ) pierced. It turned out to be a pleasant experience!

Went in to get my belly button done, she marked everything good then put the needle in… it swelled so I couldn’t see it, but my piercing was VERY shallow. So a few days later I went into another piercer to hear there opinion and they suggested it’s too shallow and that I should remove it. Don’t waste your time or money here.

I really liked my piercer and customer service was wonderful. The reason I gave them only 3 star is their jewelry. They either have crappy jewelry or the piercer doesnt know how to put the jewelry in. I have been in twice. The first ring came out within a week. I went back and they made me pay for a replacement that also came out. Terrible experience. I pierced my cartilage here and within a week the earring sunk into my ear from it being on so tight. They dont have multiple sizes like piercing shops do, so it swelled up a ton and started absorbing into my ear. They also have way too small of hoops, as after a week mine started to pull so bad it began to tear my ear. I called Almost Famous a few days ago to ask about my options, and she said if Im comfortable to wait it out. I just left an actual piercing shop, with Im guessing a lot more experience, and they helped me to get new earrings that actually fit.

Felt like one the staff members was unprofessional. Was nosy and got too opinionated/sensitive during a conversation I had with my friend that I came in with. It had nothing to do with the staff at all.

I went into Almost Famous because my hoop in my nose was stuck. Maggie was super friendly, informative and kept the price as low as possible (it was not expensive). After going here, I will continue to go to this piercing store for anything that I need because she was so pleasant. She made my Monday!!!

My nose piercing went fine at the place. I asked if the quality of jewelry was good and they assured me that the jewelry was good quality and wouldnt be a problem. After 3 weeks, the gem on my nose ring fell out and it now looks black. I was gentle and never did anything that would cause it to fall out. When I called to ask about replacement jewelry they said that I would have to purchase new jewelry and they wouldnt replace it. Big rip off! Im buying my jewelry somewhere else. I wont be coming back to this place.

I actually really liked this place, the piercer was super clean and comfortable. My only gripe is my swelling has gone down and my piercing is still crooked. I get that it’s human error so I’m not having a meltdown over it, however I’m not going to spend another $50 to get it fixed. The wait wasn’t long though, everything looked super clean, my piercer was very sweet and walked me through everything so I felt comfortable and at place. She told me it would be crooked due to swelling which I totally get, you can’t control my body. But now the swelling has gone down and it’s not nearly as crooked as it was before but it still is a bit.

I went here to get both my ears and my eyebrow done. Both times that I went, the employees were polite and helpful. The place was sanitary and they made me feel very calm about the whole process. The piercers explained thoroughly about aftercare for my piercings and I havent had any problems with them to this day. I will be going back.

Loved that they do walk in appointments. Set my time and they were ready to go when I got there. Sam did an awesome job, great steady hands opening my old piercings up. I would recommend this shop to anyone looking for a piercing.

I would like to say that I am no stranger to this place. I have 3 piercings from them, so this is not a one-off angry customer. First time was okay, second time was iffy, and this third time was dismal, and I will not be returning.. I went to the store at a less busy day in June 2021. Due to covid, they were meeting guests at the door to help them instead of letting them in freely which is fine. However it took almost a half an hour for a staff member to even greet us at the door. We got an appointment for 4:00. We arrived for our appointment around 15 minutes early (at their request) After filling out paperwork we had to wait until 4:20 to be seen by a piercer. I was getting my second nose piercing on the opposite side. She said that the horseshoe jewelry I picked prevented her from placing the piercing so that they were symmetrical.Instead of asking if I wanted to switch jewelry, she says oh well and starts prepping the needle. I had to stop her and request different jewelry so that the piercing could be place properly. I was then asked to put my mask over a freshly pierced nose, even though I was fully vaxxed and had proof of this. This place has severely gone down hill. Honestly next time Im at MOA, Ill see if Claires will pierce my nipples smh.

Came in late on a Sunday 2 hours before closing assuming there would be no crowd. Needed a backing removed from my ear and that was it. We had been previously told it would be $45 so we were prepared. An employee told us we would need to wait till closing because they were fully booked. We were disappointed because it would have been such a quick procedure. Maggie was a lifesaver for us though. She said she could try removing it without a needle and that would only cost $7. She brought us back quickly and easily removed the backing. Awesome customer service.

They have too many poor reviews. My mom got her rook pierced in both ears here several years ago, and I got my tongue pierced last year. The service was super great, the staff was friendly and helpful, the piercers were professional and quick, they explained everything that was gonna happen and gave all the information needed. Everyone was super nice and helpful, and the place has always been very clean and the piercers followed proper safety and sanitization. I will be going there again shortly to get my nostril piercing. They are a little pricy but they’re also in moa, it’s to be expected and I don’t mind since I find the place really nice and I trust them to do a good job

I went to Almost Famous in Mall of America today to get my nose (nostril) pierced. The girl who did it (name slips my mind at the moment) was very polite, informative and professional. She answered all my questions and gave me thorough instructions on how to take care of my piercing. The store and room was clean, I watched her wash her hands, put on the gloves, take out the sterile equipment from the packages and she made sure my bleeding had stopped before I left. I had a great experience and would recommend this place to a friend.

I went in there a couple of days ago. They said that it would be around 15-20 minute wait, depending on the other customers. Well, two hours later, when the mall is closed, we are getting in. I went in to get a Monroe piercing and was very excited. When she pierced it, she completely missed her target. The post was crooked and is hurting pretty bad. It is around a centimeter above my lip, at most. Not at all high enough for a Monroe piercing. I feel stupid and it looks stupid. Not to mention the fact that the mall was already closed so what was there that I could really do? Definitely wasn’t about to let her stab me in the face with a needle again, because obviously she couldn’t hit her mark. This has never happened to me at an actually tattoo shop. I recommend not coming here for piercings.

I have gotten multiple piercings from here and am never disappointed. My most recent piercer was Sonya and she was very educated and thoroughly answered any and all questions I have had! She also did such a good job with my dermal anchor. Very impressed!

I got my nostril and ear cartilage done here about a week ago, and my experience was awesome! I had Emily M. as my piercer and she was so professional, but still very friendly and fun to talk to. She helped calm me down when my nose piercing hurt and bled more than I was anticipating (Ive had both of those piercings done before when I lived in Ohio, but they got infected and I had to take the jewelry out before they had healed. This session was for me to get them redone).The only complaint I have is with the girl who was working the front of the store when I was there. I went to her and said hi, Id like to get my nose pierced right about here and pointed to the spot, and for some reason she obnoxiously laughed at me. It was embarrassing and I had to go take a walk and come back before I felt comfortable enough to talk to her again and set up my session.Apart from that, I loved my experience there. I have a nickel sensitivity so I had to opt for titanium jewelry, and I was really pleased with the quality and selection. The next time Im at the MOA, my piercings will likely be healed, so I will definitely stop by to look at more jewelry. :)Thanks AFBP and especially Emily M.!!PS - the aftercare is great and reasonably priced as well. I love the glycerin soap. The pamphlets on aftercare and identifying infection/kleoids/etc are very informative and helpful as well.

Got there and the prices were different than what they were online. Went from $45 to $55 service fee, was disappointed by that. Then the lady told me LESS than 10-15 minutes and it was a whole half an hour I was waiting.Payed an extra $7 ($5 on the website) to get my earring removed and they forgot to do that, luckily I stayed at the mall and remembered that they forgot about it.The whole piercing process went very well though. The lady talked me through it and was very gentle.Overall I give it a 4 star .

DONT GO HERE! I went in to get my septum piercing changed for the first time(i did not get it pierced here) The lady was very nice but the piercing she put it was not the right size it was wayyy too small. I thought it would be fine while I went on Christmas vacation but after two days I started having severe pain around my piercing(i have never had any problems with my old piercing and there was no other piercing place around me to get it changed). The pain was so bad I couldn’t sleep. On my first night of vacation I woke up probably 4 times because the pain was so bad. I tried literally everything to get this piercing off. It was too small to grab with my fingers so I tired pliers, wire cutters, a surgical ring cutter from a fire department, I even tried BOLD CUTTERS, and I still couldn’t get it off because of how tight this was to my nose. Please don’t go here for your own good!

Was thinking of a daith piercing for awhile now. Just happened to go to the mall for the day and stopped in. I was totally impressed with the professional service. Elizabeth was very informative, she made me feel at ease, from the time I walked in to the time I left. I would recommend these folks to anyone. The only reason I didnt give them a five was because I only got my ears done yesterday. But things are good so far. Thanks for the great experience!!!

Went as a birthday present to myself and got my lobes repierced (with needle), as well as, two new cartilage peircings. Staff was excellent! Very friendly and did a great job of explaining the process and making sure the earrings were a good fit for me (lots of metal allergies)! They made sure I understood how to take care of them. They had decent selection which is bigger than most tattoo shops. Pricing is more than if you went to Walmart or Claires but definitely worth it as all the staff that do piercings are all licensed by the state so they know what they are doing whereas at other cheaper places they are not and are likely to damage your ears particularly with cartilage peircings if they use the gun rather than the needle. Cannot reccomend them highly enough!

The staff was very nice and informative. Professional and clean. Certification and sterilization practices were in plain sight and appreciated. Long line. One person piercing, no seating and not much standing room either. But we grabbed a bite to eat and were next in line when we returned.

Ok place. Few glaring issues: rude staff, overpriced jewelry, and an overall not good environment. I got my angel bites done at Almost Famous and one is ever so slightly higher than the other. Also, when going to get it changed it was 40$! I find that to be quite expensive considering my local piercer does it for FREE. Today I went to get a smaller bar and when they did not have a smaller bar they still charged me 7$ even though they did absolutely nothing. Im not coming back as i have found better piercers that will do services at a fair price and with better customer service skills. Would not recommendoh and btw to the bot commenting on all the reviews- im not gonna message you with my real name thanks :)

I came here with an expectation that this place would be great and have professional piercers since it located in the MOA, but I guess I was wrong I should have noticed that this place might be a disappointment because they are a 3.7 star in MOA. I came here to get my lips pierced (which is called a center piercing or Ashley) when I came home and looked at it closely my piercing was not in the center of my lip or lined up with my Medusa. I called them immediately and let them know and their excuse was my lip is swollen and will look like that for awhile. I payed almost 100 bucks im expecting to get what I payed for. So about two days later I came in and had the woman that pierced me look at it and she was like “oh it is off just by a little” so she took it off and told me to come back in a month. I was really upset because I really wanted my piercing so I came back four days later had her re-pierce my lip this time she got it lined up with my Medusa but it is still not center with my lip. She said that give it two weeks it should look center it been over two weeks my lip is not swollen anymore and it still in the same spot. Don’t waste your money here because clearly they don’t hire professional the women that pierce me is also the manager name Liz. They also don’t do refund and in the contract it also say they do not promise on the outcome of the piercing. This is the first review I ever wrote for any business but this is how disappointed I am with this place. Also giving it a one star just because she was being polite about the situation.

I went to the almost famous at the MOA location twice this week. First day I got my daith, the girl that did it was fast and it looks amazing and had almost no pain! I went back today for my nipples. The piercer made me feel comfortable (not wearing a shirt) and made the process go so smoothly!! Theyre all very professional there and make you feel at ease!

Charlie, who is an ordained Dudist Priest, was great to work with. I rambled on about my reasons for getting my nose pierced at 42 and she truly engaged in conversation with me. I didnt intend to get my piercing done that night, but Im glad I did. She took her time, explained everything to me in detail and made sure I was happy. When I checked out, the girl at the counter was very helpful as well. She took time to make sure I didnt have any questions and pointed out ways to contact them if I had any problems or concerns.

Really good experience. I got my navel pierced here & I had done a walk in. Super quick, sanitary, and my piercing looks straight. Gave me instructions on how to care for it. I do recommend.

I got my septum pierced here around a week ago. My piercing is healing alright. It was stupid that they make you get pierced before you pay. So its basically a trap. They also have a really dumb payment process if you use your card. My card ended up being declined because, one of the woman did know how to use the register. They tried to tell me I had to use the ATM regardless of it not being my fault. This skinny blonde lady there was a complete b.tch about the whole thing. If she wouldnt of had given such crappy customer service Id rate them higher. I suggest knowing this isnt the place you should go but, if you do go use cash. Also know the people working there are rude. So dont expect a friendly environment.

I walked in to look for a belly button ring and Maggie helped me right away. She was really nice and educated on the different types. I also got a piercing and requested her. She made me feel really comfortable and explained everything in detail. I highly recommend Maggie, she was the best!

Brought my 14 year old daughter in to get her ears pierced for her birthday and was told she needed an I.D. because of state law or she needed to be accompanied by a parent. Said I was the father and the lady didnt believe me and asked for a birth certificate. I was upset but then as my day went on I noticed there was a Claires in the mall and they had my daughters ears pierced within 10 minutes of arrival and for a better price and treated my daughter and I with respect.

Liz at Almost Famous did an excellent job piercing my 7-year-old daughter’s ears! She was very friendly, made my daughter feel comfortable and talked her through the entire process. My daughter couldn’t be happier and the experience couldn’t have gone any better!

About three weeks ago I went to get my ears pierced for about the third time. Each time before that they closed up because I’m sensitive to metals. So me and my friend go in together and talk to the lady at the front desk. I cannot remember who it was I talked to. She started explaining the prices and different types of jewelry you can get and how they pierce. She said we do have a needle but you’d be looking at about $100 if you want that. We also have a gun but it isn’t that sterol well it is but not as much as the needle is. That one was significantly cheaper than the needle. That should have been my first warning. But I went through with it. Got an earring that was titanium and that was a tiny stud. I filled out the contract and everything and just waited. My friend was also gonna get her ears pierced but decided not to. They lady ripped up her contract. They were filling after care bags while we were waiting to have our turn and the other worker kept giving my friend and I weird looks. Once I actually got in the room with the piercer she was kind and understanding and did it good job. After while I was paying they gave me a bag with after care stuff and said there was instructions inside. When I looked in the bag on the way home there was only two things and each had their own instructions on it but none of them told me how long it takes to heal. Yes I’ve gotten my ears pierced before but that was all the way in 7th grade. I’m a sophomore in college right now. I don’t remember that. I never got a copy of the contract I signed and that’s frustrating. Yes I read it in the store but I should have my own copy of it. Just this night I took out my piercings because they were too much for me. The backings on them were so hard to get off them that it hurt so much to get them out. I honestly don’t think the backings should be on the typeI got. Over all is should I have listened to the reviews a bit closer.

Before I got any piercing a couple years ago, I heard lots of bad stuff about this place so I was worried about it but my experience here was great! I came here a to get a nose stud a year ago, which went very well! I came here again to get my septum done, which was quick and easy. Loved it. I love the staff here! I’m for sure coming back to get another piercing done. Definitely would recommend.

I have 13 piercings and got my newest piercing there and absolutely love it! They were quick and did an amazing job! I would go back to them then the other places I’ve been by far! They’re super friendly and make you feel comfortable and welcomed! I would definitely recommend them!

I went here for a jewelry change and they broke the ball off my rook jewelry with the threading stuck inside the bar. Then tried to sell me externally threaded jewelry claiming it’s better, which is absolutely false. Had to get a retainer to hold the piercing open so I could go somewhere else

This is my go-to for any piercing I have received, recently my nose - twice on the same side... Very quick and fast job. They typically provide a go to buy 1 get 1 sale on basic piercings. I was slightly disappointed being told for both piercings, jewelry and cleansing products that my total would be no more than $110 and then I get a bill for over $130. Not a problem, I just wish there was more accurate information being provided before telling a customer what they are sure of. However I have also won a contest provided through Almost Famous social media account on Facebook; When I had trouble claiming my merchandise, I was provided with valid and helpful information to receive the prize of my choosing. Following putting in my claim, a couple of days later I received the actual jewelry and I was quite satisfied. Thank you Almost Famous!

I’ve pierced my nose here but it went wrong so so then I didn’t trust them with my nose again so then I asked them to at least pierce my tragus but they denied so then I asked th if they can refund my money or at least of half of it and they refused to do so, especially that skinny old lady With white hair I don’t know her name, she was very rude and unprofessional. I don’t recommend you to pierce any of your body parts here AT ALL.!!

My daughter got a naval piercing by Jo she did a great job, my daughter is very tiny and didnt have much skin for a top naval piercing and Jo recommended the bottom then showed my daughter her piercing to reassure her it still was cute. Jo talked to my daughter through each step of the process including the aftercare . THANKS JO

They do not know what they are doing, they use poor quality/wrongly sized jewelry, and will give you horrible aftercare instructions like using soap, etc. (you should really only ever use sterile saline).Go to a piercer thats a member w/ the Professional Association of Piercers (some in the Twin Cities area are Electric Strawberry and Levictus). Almost Famous does a horrible job, I regret going here.. My piercing didnt heal for almost TWO YEARS, and only did because I got my jewelry changed by a piercer who knows what theyre doing.Edit/Reply:Yeah Im probably not in your system because it was several years ago (did you guys even read that I said it didnt heal for almost 2 years and only did because I went to a *different* piercer to have it looked at??). I dont want your assistance, I want to warn anyone reading the reviews against ever considering going near this place. Nobody should have to gamble their safety...But if thats really all you have to say for yourselves, tbh that shows a lot.. Because nonetheless it was the absolute WORST piercing experience Ive ever had (I have many piercings; the rest have all healed beautifully), and it looks like you guys still practice/recommend the same unsafe, outdated methods. Lol. You guys should honestly be ashamed; look at all the other reviews of people youve completely botched.ALSO, NOTE FOR ANYONE SEEKING PIERCINGS:Any place that sells non-niobium black jewelry is an IMMEDIATE RED FLAG!!!! Unless its 100% anodized Niobium material, its literally a paint coating - any studio that pierces with coated materials does not care about your safety. Just wait to schedule an appointment and get quality jewelry with a piercer who actually cares about you and your healing, not just getting people in and out for the money.

This place is great. They had $16 piercings for National Piercing day so I went with a coworker and her cousin to get piercings. Maggie was wonderful at explaining everything and was incredibly friendly, as well as the front desk staff that helped check us in. There was a bit of a wait, understandably, but it was well worth it. Highly recommend.

I went in to get my right nostril pierced again.But my piercers name was Kate, and she was so quick and professional. Let me know all the essential things, very polite, and made sure it was right where Id want it to be.Such a sweet person, and a great worker there 👌 And her septum ring is still awesome haha

I went into the mall of america for a Christmas party and ran across this store. The piercings themselves are over priced even with the bogo deal. You have to pay for jewelry and cleaning products you may or may not even use. At a tattoo shop jewelry is included for half the price. I still chose to get several piercings. My issue came about when my piercing began to heal incorrectly. I returned to the shop about a week later and was told by my piercer this issue. Her reply was that there isnt any larger jewelry for my navel and that she knows the piercing isnt healing properly. The piercer then excused herself to call the store manager who was not in store nor did she answer. The piercer took down my information and assured me the manager would contact me as soon as she could. That never happened! Another week went past and I finally called the store again. The manager, Liz, was there and told me there was nothing she could do besides have me purchase additional jewelry after I already spent $200+!! Also the jewelry she would have me purchase is not even a navel piece! The manager stated Id have to purchase a horseshoe which shed have to manipulate to fit. I told her this was unacceptable! I asked for another manager and was told she couldnt give me her information. I explained I had to wait over a week to even get in contact with the store manager so I will not wait for a higher manager to contact me, which probably wont happen as well. Liz then told me to call the Champaign location and ask for Amanda. I followed directions and contacted Amanda. Amanda then told me Id have to purchase additional jewelry which is my only option. I explained that my piercer told me there is not larger jewelry. Amanda said I probably spoke to a clerk who doesnt do piercings. I explained I spoke to the same exact woman who pierced me and Liz. Amanda stated its in the paperwork I signed and my recipient for no refunds or returns on jewelry. This is incorrect. Theres literally nothing on my receipt besides the printout of items purchased and the amount I paid. The release form also only says no refund on jewelry, which I understand because of sanitation. I have contacted Better Business Bureau. Amanda told me that doesnt matter because Almost Famous isnt a member of BBB. Smh. DO NOT GO HERE! They are money hungry and not customer focused.

Please do NOT go here. I went to get my nose pierced at the other Almost Famous, and it was great. But when I went to the one in MOA, I just went so they could change my nose piercing into a hoop, it was terrible. Selection was low, some staff were kind, but most acting like they hated their job and didn’t care. When they changed it, they changed it VERY aggressively. Treating my piercing like it was nothing. They were yanking on it very hard, and were not even wearing gloves and didn’t wash their hands. Just the next day, my nose was TERRIBLY infected and it still is. It’s been infected for weeks, has a HUGE bump, and I clean it twice a day. My nose was bleeding terribly, I was dizzy from the pain, and if you want to be apart of Almost Famous, PLEASE do it at a different location. Do NOT go to this one. MOA.

The customer service was great and they were very clean and professional however they messed up my piercing and they did not place it in the right spot. It bled horribly afterwards and that was not supposed to happen with the piercing I got.*edit* the piercing location is fine however she did miss the sweet spot in my septum and pierced straight through the cartilage, which is why it bled. It hurts very badly to touch and I cant move the hoop at all because when I do it stings terribly and I have been following the aftercare instructions to a t. Ive never had a healing problem before and Ive never had a bad reaction to my jewelry. I have been trying to take it out because of the pain, but again it hurts too badly to move, and I do consider myself to have a high pain tolerance. The girl who was working up front was very friendly and sociable and she told me that it shouldnt hurt at all and if I could handle my nostril I would be fine so I wasnt expecting anything but it hurt so badly. It hurt 10x more than my nostril did and that one was just a pinch to me. Ive been told by so many people that the septum isnt supposed to hurt at all and its supposed to be pain free which was opposite of what had happened originally.

Nothing was wrong with my piercing it was just one of the cashiers. Because of corona they’re doing it by appointments and you give your name and they give you a time slot. I gave my nickname and then explained to the girl that it was a nickname and that that my ID has my real name. She looked at my real name and laughed and said oh I see why you go by your nickname. That didn’t sit right with me there’s nothing wrong with my real name or nickname.

Went in for a replacement lip ring. The casheir was helpful, and said shed have a piercer come and help size as I wasnt sure what I needed, and she wasnt sure what would be best for me. I waited about 15 minutes, with several other employees milling about, not offering help. Finally the first casheir came to me and asked what I had decided on. I told her no one had been by to help me with sizing. She said shed ask her manager to help, but wasnt sure if shed be willing. It turned out she was not, as she had apparently been there since six am (it was now 1 pm) and simply had too much to do. The casheir, who just 20 minutes prior expressed that she was not comfortable helping me size the ring, now said she could just guess, as she was pretty sure she knew what Id need, and no one else was willing to help. We left then, empty-handed.I am not a difficult customer. I spent many years as a retail manager for both boutique stores such as this, and for larger chains. This manager, who tells her employees to whine about her long hours to customers, on her behalf, and to just wing it after they have already expressed their discomfort at assisting with a task, should be retrained, as she is unprofessional, and frankly childish. I cant imagine working under someone who would force me into such an awkward position. The casheir was awesome, she did her best, but the leadership in this store is terrible.

I got my triple forward helix pierced here on Friday February 16th and ever since I got it I have been feeling nauseous constantly and I have a headache that won’t go away. It swelled up which is normal but it is still swollen. I went to the doctor today to check for infection. I was told it was infected because the piercer didn’t clean it well enough. I still had dried blood on them that they had to pull of with a tweezer. They also flushed it out with a saline solution to try and get the blood off. They told me I have had a headache and been feeling nauseous because the piercer hit a pressure point which is causing me to feel very sick. It wasn’t a cheap piercing and I am very upset because I have to get them taken out and I haven’t even had them for a week. Never coming back to this location again.Edit: When I went to get them taken out I went to the location in St. Cloud and the piercer who took them out took me that they were pierced in the wrong spot and because of that I couldn’t move them to the spot they were supposed to be at and they started migrating to an even worse position. I used the sea salt soak and the soap and that didn’t help the swelling or pain at all. I soaked them multiple times a day because they hurt so bad and were so swollen. I got the piercings taken out less than a week after I had them and now it’s been almost six months since I’ve gotten them and I have pain everyday because of these piercings and there is still a swollen spot where my ear meets my head. I paid a lot of money to get those piercings done and then the piercer did it wrong and I’m still having pain everyday. It’s pretty ridiculous because I should get my money back but they never did anything.

I have came here before and was pretty happy with the service but the last 3 nights i have came in to get a lip piercing and even called yesterday to make sure they were taking people in for piercings The lady had told me they were until 9:00 so I went right there and showed up at 8:38 and they turned me away. Tonight they turned me away again and I was they at 8:10. Really annoyed with thi . Makes me just want to find another place that wants my service and money.

Kalei pierced my nostril the other day and Im loving it so far! It took a little longer and a little more painful than I expected based on what Ive read (this is my first real piercing, but I did a ton of research), but it went quickly and smoothly. Everything was clean, and I watched her wash her hands and open the packaging to everything in front of me. Kalei was also super nice and was patient when I started to feel light-headed. She even got a small piece of a granola bar and a small cup of water for me to help! The cleaning instructions she gave me were clear. Also, every time I had come in beforehand to plan for my piercing (which was three times!), I was helped quickly and hospitably even though I wasnt going to immediately buy anything. I dont plan on getting another piercing anytime soon, but I definitely want to remain a customer in one way or another!

Words can not express how awesome the people are at Almost Famous. Today was the second time I have been pierced by Maggie. She remembered me right away and shared stories to make me laugh and put me at ease. Everyone I have met here has been knowledgeable and fun. I am actually starting to think about what else I might need pierced just to go back!

I called before bringing my 9 yo daughter in to get her ears pierced and had an extensive conversation about what to bring so she can have them pierced with a needle instead of a gun. I have body piercings myself and know this is much less traumatic than the gun.I brought my daughters birth certificate and my photo ID. That was what I was told to bring. When I arrived, the girl behind the counter said abruptly, Does she have a photo ID? I said, No, shes nine, but I brought mine and I have her birth certificate. To which the employee said, very unapologetically and unaffected, She has to have a photo ID. Its illegal to do a needle piercing without a photo ID.She treated me as if I were an idiot for coming in, while my daughter looked at me confused and deflated. I know from experience that piercing and tattoo shops can be welcoming places. The stereotype of being pierced and rude only makes the rest of us look bad. Try smiling and saying sorry next time. I wouldve bowed out graciously, I understand miscommunication happens.Also, it wouldnt be a good example of me to not apologize for my behavior. My mama bear came out and Im sorry for being rude in return. I shouldve handled myself better as well.

Sonya helped me and she’s amazing! Super nice and very educated and answered any questions i had. She was great at making me feel less anxious before my piercing. Definitely recommend her and would go back to her again.

Bad customer service, staff was not friendly. Tried to make small talk while the piercer was doing her thing but she was very cold and short with me. Everything appeared to be sterile and in its own packaging but the jewelry is cheap, cheap, cheap. I got a double forward helix done there and both of the jewelry pieces fell out of my ear within a month! I had to go to another piercer x2 to get them put back in! After the second time I had to spend another $80 on jewelry so I wouldnt keep having this problem... And i had already spent close to $100 at Almost famous for everything. HUGE DISSAPOINTMENT!

I was a little hesitant coming to this shop because of all the negative reviews, but I was pleasantly surprised. I went there, and they were very ready to answer all the questions I had, and they made me feel very comfortable. My piercer wore gloves and washed her hands, and even when she dropped the ball off of my industrial, she went to get a new one. And when she came back, she rewashed her hands. I was very happy with my whole experience at Almost Famous, and Id go back again.

I went on to get my.nose piercing adjusted too big. The person switching out jewlery says I never put in a swirled one before, after 4 tries she got it in and it was very tight. Went back today and was told thats how i wanted it and I would have to buy another post. I was in pain due to tightness. Went to professional shop she she switched out and no longer in pain. Customer service lacking. Dont recommend anyone to go there. Read owner comment. You were not in room so you have no idea what peircer said to me. All you had to do is replace ring free of charge but you chose to tell me I had to pay again . No customer service

Got my tong pierced and my hubby got his eye brow I love my new addition to my mouth but I think it might be too long for my mouth? 3 days and swelling gone and its amazing! Emily was so nice and asked me to go first. felt faint after but it was only adrenalin escaping my body fallowed both salt water and mouth wash and its a very healthy peircing . very great people you have over there I will be sure to come back soon! But am still thing the bar is really long for my mouth size. Any way to help?

Got two piercings on my break by Amanda, my lip and eyebrow. Went quickly, and was as painless as it could have been. She also went over aftercare very thoroughly.Large selection of products available, some which I have had to special order from other pierces.Edit: Feb 18th, 2017, got two more done by Amanda, went as smoothly as the first time.
