Josh took my friend and I last minute. We even changed our idea and he was able to accommodate and tweak it. He was super friendly and talkative. The outcome of the artwork is immaculate. Perfect lines and light handed. He does my friends work and I’m always in awe as she gets plenty from him. I will definitely be back, as I need a permanent artist I trust in the Nashville area.

Josh did such an amazing job our our Friday the 13th tats!! He was thorough with everything and had no problems accommodating our last min changes to the art. Will definitely be back!

My daughter wanted her ears pierced and I wanted a tattoo for my sister in law who recently passed away. We walked in on a Thursday night and I forgot my daughters birth certificate at home (just fyi you need that for minors 🤣). I talked to josh and we made an appointment for us to come back the next night. He was SO PATIENT with my daughter. She was scared of getting her ears pierced but he made it so easy. And now she loves them!! Then my tattoo was so quick, I didnt think there was any way he was already finished. But I love it so much! We will ONLY use him for all tattoos in the future!Fast forward two weeks later... my daughters earring somehow went in the pierced hole. We went back to see Josh and he took care of us. No wait. He swapped the earrings out for some bigger and nicer ones at no additional charge!Go see Josh and the team! You wont be disappointed! Well be back! ❤️

My dad died in June and my sister, brother, mother, and I decided to get matching tattoos in his memory for my birthday. I called and was able to schedule a Saturday with Heather. She is awesome! They helped save my nose from having a nose infection that wasn’t even their work. Very sweet caring people, they explained to me how to take care of my nose afterwards and took out a huge ear piercing that someone else, not licensed, put in my nose using a ear gun. With no charge! Go to them, they are amazing 100% recommended❤️

We came to Nashville for a girl’s trip and made an impromptu decision to get our noses pierced. Josh was amazing and got all 4 of us in at once. He was amazing and extremely knowledgeable!

Josh was really nice! I had lost my nose piercing ball and went to go get a replacement. On the phone they told me it would be about 10$ for replacement jewelry, but when I got there Josh had extra ball for my piercing and gave that to me! The staff was so respectful and nice and I was in and out quick! I would definitely come back again. I would recommend them to anyone else looking for piercings!

I got my nose pierced by Josh, and he was awesome! I was really nervous because the piercing has sentimental value and I didnt want to pick the wrong spot or have issues with healing. Josh answered every question I had with incredible expertise. He marked a few different places on my nose based on the kind of jewelry I said I wanted to wear. I felt calm during the piercing and Josh talked me through what to expect. So far its healing well and hasnt been sore! Definitely would recommend.

I got my nose pierced today I was nervous and Melanie was super nice she calmed me down she was sweet she did an amazing job she was super quick like I told her !! Me and my friend both had our babies with us she let my friend come on back with us and she had no problem having 2 strollers in there with me ! I came in and got a dermal piercing from Josh in which he did very well. but I got a timepiece on my neck from a guy there named Brady who charged me $450 yet got the time wrong on the clock and never finished and when I called about my free touch up and to finish it up I was told he no longer worked there and to call back when Josh was there. Ive left messages received no reply so Im walking around with a timepiece that was supposed to mean something yet doesnt anymore because they applied the wrong time to the clock and on top of that never finished the $450 tattoo so its quite embarrassing walking around with a unfinished tattoo on my neck and with the wrong time being applied its meaningless.. Definitely dont recommend this shop.

My boyfriend and I got both our tattoos done here by Josh and we will be back! He is very professional and his artwork is AMAZING! Very impressive! Also a very clean shop and all over good vibe place!

I got my first tattoo last night and couldn’t have picked a better spot.Karen was up front about the entire process and made sure I understood everything that was going on at all times. She made me feel comfortable and was great to talk to throughout the process. She answered my silly questions without judgement and explained what she was doing and how to care for my tattoo in depth.She really cares about giving a good tattoo and making sure it will last for you!

Really can’t explain but I’ll try. My J. Johnston tattoo is hands down the best tattoo experience I have ever had in my life and I do not give out “praise” easily. As an artist; his 2D game is crazy. As a professional he is top notch. Communicates well and explains how to elevate the vision of your body art. I feel like I was privileged to be touched by his mastery. Can’t wait for the next one. I’ll post pic once it heals.

Josh worked on my chest piece. I can honestly say it was one of the best experiences I had. It was my first tattoo and he worked out the design and talked me through everything. Very clean and professional. I definitely recommend his service. 10yrs + of experience he is the real deal.

My friend and I went to get our septum pierced here and the jewelry was positioned too low in both of our noses. We noticed this and got it checked out at a professional piercing studio. To our disappointment, both of our septa were confirmed in the wrong place of our noses, through the cartilage. When a septum ring is placed too low in the nose it can cause damage. It was very scary finding out that this had occurred, and I removed the piercing right away. And I paid $80 for this.Would recommend caution when considering getting pierced here, despite friendly staff.

I really wanted a cover up and JOSH literally did an awesome job hurt like hell but it was worth it if you are looking for a great cover up artists go to Josh he will get it done and pricing is really reasonable if I could I’ll give a 10 star but only allows 5 🤗 THANKS JOSH YOU WILL BE MY GO TO ARTIST

Fantastic artists! We were in Nashville for a siblings weekend and wanted to get tattoos wed talked about for years. Took out ideas to Kody and he was able to do exactly the customization we wanted. Worked with all 4 of us to get the designs just right. Met the owner Mike and fell in love with the awesome atmosphere, welcoming vibe and talented artists. A must visit if youre in the area!

I had a tragus piercing done in Foley AL which seemed to be healing nicely. Then a week later it began to swell and was red & tender to the touch. I researched online the best thing to do for an infected tragus. It recommended to contact your piercer. My piercer was in Foley AL. Since Josh had pierced my other tragus I decided to ask for his help. No appointment was required so I arrived shortly after they opened and Josh took me right into his office. He easily identified what the issue was and was able to relieve the pain I was experiencing. He fixed me up and sent me on my way.I would recommend Josh for any new piercing you might want. If youre experiencing an issue with a current piercing he can help you save the piercing. Josh is laid back but professional and has many years experience.

I was here for a family weekend me and my daughter and son! My daughter had an issue with a piercing and Joshua Johnston came in and took care of it ! Then me and my daughter got tattoos and he made them so special to us ! This was by far the greatest experience I have ever had ! Joshua takes pride in his work and you can tell ! We are coming back to Nashville for my birthday in October and we will definitely be back to see him and get some new ink !!!

I got a tattoo by josh about 2 years ago and he rushed doing my tattoo after he did my girlfriend tattoo. That he did free touch ups. I finally have time and set a appt for the touch up because when he did it some of it didnt take. He said nothing about that i would be charged a min of $100 untill i was there in person because i waited to long for the touch up. Mind you i only paid $60 for the tattoo at the other location it was at. Every other place have never told me unless i come straight back after its healed that they wont touch up their work.

While on vacation in Nashville my boyfriend decided he wanted to get a tattoo we went to avenging art they were professional and clean and made me feel right at home if you want ink they are the people to see. Also he had left his ID there and when we had got home to North Carolina we had called them and they sent it right out to us . We cannot say enough about how professional they are thank you avenging art tattoo

Me and my girl went there and got a a nose piercingThe guy josh was the one that did it he did mines ok ,but messed up on my girls , he went to low and now when she try’s to put on a loop it looks horrible, plus I made an appointment to get me a tattoo he ask for 100 dollars depositI’m a truck driver so I’m not able to text while I’m at work . I called josh 4 times on different occasions and he never answered his phone ... and of course he kept my my hard earned money. I’m not one to post negative stuff about any one but this is bad businessANSWER YOUR PHONE!!!!!

Charged me 600 for a tat and in fist session it’s obvious josh doesn’t know his depth because lines are blown out in several then thin out to nothing in others the lines where obviously rushed and then refuses to refund money for work not done so I can get it fixed and finished. I’m now having to add color to cover the bubbled in scales he did too. Had me bleeding in fist two hours.

I was shocked at how welcoming and kind everyone in the shop was from the time I got there to the time I walked out the door. My tattoo looks great, and I had an awesome time. I had the WORST and I mean the WORST experience! I went in there and asked for a forward helix piercing which they proceeded to tell me they could do. Then ‘DREW’ sat me down and marked my ears for where the piercings would be going then told me that he couldn’t do the correct piercing because he didn’t have the instruments needed. Drew then proceeded with shaky hands to shove a NEEDLE through my ear. Then he struggled to get the earring through the hole dropping it serveral times into my lap. First earring be put in backwards and told me that I’m gonna have to let it heal that way. Second earring he got in without a struggle. It wasn’t the piercing that I wanted and then he had the nerve to ask for TIPS! On top of that Drew smelt like WEED so I’m pretty sure he was high while on the job!! SO UNPROFESSIONAL!!!!!!!!!!

Its a different environment than other tattoo shops got a pool table and arcade games in the basement play free while you wait you can smoke down there as well. really good at piercings and prices are not bad

Artist was excellent. I felt it to be extremely overpriced. Got a 1 in semicolon tattoo after saying that wanted the largest piece for the $100 studio minimum sitting fee.

Very frustrating after waiting for 2 hours that they informed me that cash only bc credit card reader was down. Suggest that I walk across the street to the scary Mapco and get cash out and walk back across the street. Very frustrating experience.
