I had an amazing experience here! Allie did my tattoo and it looks absolutely stunning. She made sure I was comfortable and was so easy to chat with. Definitely recommend getting a tattoo here if you’re in New Orleans the atmosphere is so chill and comfortable!

Can’t express enough how terrific this place and the staff are. Called on Thursday and was able to get an appointment for five people on Saturday. Called back on Friday and they were so great and able to accommodate us by adding two more people. We had three first timers with us and they immediately felt welcome and safe when they saw the staff cleaning the place. Unlike a lot of tattoo parlors it wasn’t dark and threatening. Artists were all easy to work with and quick, while at the same time creating beautiful pieces. Can’t recommend enough! Jason is as great for me personally. Only small recommendation I might make to the shop is to either shave the whole circumference of the arm so when you tape the covering in place it doesn’t tug out a ton of arm/leg hair or use a non adhesive/cohesive bandage tape. That would be better because you could rewrap it later if necessary. Thank so much!

AWESOME EXPERIENCE! We walked in on a Sunday night with a group all wanting something quick and easy and every single person in the shop that we came across was SO friendly, patient and the 4 of us who got tattooed (by Jason and Alex) all absolutely love our new little works of art! Not intimidating at all, they made us feel so welcome, comfortable and were very gracious for our business. Just had a vacation in New Orleans, and Casey at tough love managed to squeeze me into his schedule when I contacted him before the trip. I wanted a tattoo of the racing snail from The Never Ending Story. I had pics of the character but not exactly what I wanted in a tattoo. I wanted to see how fast the snail was. Casey reached inside my brain and created the perfect tattoo. My next trip to New Orleans will definitely include booking a spot with Casey ahead of time.

Staff is awesome, their work is top notch, and the shop is clean, comfortable and open. Cant recommend them enough! Special thanks to Vivian for rocking the tattoos for both me and my daughter!

Visiting from Arizona, my granny came to New Orleans 30 years ago and told us kids stories about alligators. It was he most favorite story to tell. I had a concept walked in, just to get a feeler of the place and price. Talked with the gentleman at the counter showed him my idea, and said cool Jason does rad gator tattoos! This could have been a 1* terrible review, but Boat (Marina) saved the day! I Im not a tattoo person, but I purchased a tattoo for my dear friend for her birthday. I booked the appointment with a deposit, and we showed up for the appointment to a very rude guy who clearly did not want to do the tattoo, and probably just did not want to be there that day at all. He came with serious attitude, telling my friend that her choice and tattoo was a bad idea and pointless (watercolour). She sat stunned for a moment , as I intervened with this is a bad match, lets find someone who wants to do this tattoo and we can part ways. He just walked away. After I feared for a moment that my birthday gift for her was crashing and burning, in stepped the lovely visiting artist Boat (aka Marina). She immediately put my friend at ease with her smile and enthusiasm, and went straight to drawing up the tattoo. Ill reiterate that I am not a tattoo person, but what Marina created was absolutely art. She did such a beautiful job on my friend, I actually admired it. Her personality is everything she is so friendly and so kind that she really does put you at ease, only a shame that she was a visiting artist rather than a permanent fixture @ Tough Love. Thank you Marina, for making my friends birthday a celebration rather than a heartbreak. You are everything! As a note to the parlor, I do wish you had made some advive/accommodation for parking. The signs everywhere say residential only from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., and no one would tell us where we could park, so we were constantly playing musical chairs with our vehicle to avoid towing.

Tough Love is very clean and professional. They have awesome artists and everyone is so friendly and nice. You can definitely tell they enjoy their jobs which is nice. Positive energy all the time and it’s a very cozy shop so it’s a very welcoming atmosphere. Vivian is my artist and she’s very talented! I’ve had 2 pieces done by her so far and will be going back next week for more!

Do I love this city? Beyond. Tough Love and Jason (artist) are phenomenal and the place to go if you want quality and exceptional tattoos while visiting the Big Easy. They are the place to go! Their artists are all amazing, I’m just partial to Jason!

I was in town for a vacation. My daughter wanted to get a tattoo and we both decided to go. I called spoke with Kat who she was really friendly and very professional. The shop was beautiful and so clean. Kat and Jason are so nice and professional.They literally open the shop to accommodate my daughter and I. I straight up told them we wanted some small - a souvenir of our trip- Fluer De Lis.My sister joined us, and last second decided she wanted one also (an owl) -they were fine with that.All in all, I really wish they were closer. I would like to get more work done by Jason

I didnt get a tattoo here, but I was an emotional support human for a friend! And the atmosphere here was awesome! The people that work here make you feel relaxed and was an all around great experience. Im definitely going to be hitting up Kevin for a tattoo, his work matches my energy! I was in town for a few days and wanted to get some work done. The whole shop was awesome. Kevin was my artist and he did absolutely amazing and worked on his day off. It was a great experience and glad I stopped in.

Marc has done both of my tattoos, the second one being last week at Tough Love.I really like the space—it is clean and pretty and well-branded. Of course, Marc’s work is stellar.

I wish I could give this more stars! On a whim stopped on and we won the lottery with this shop. It’s the most cutest, most chill and vibey shop. Everyone from the front desk to the other artists were so amazing. We instantly felt comfortable and knew we’d be in good hands. Alexa was welcoming, took time to make sure we were happy even though it was simple and didn’t rush. On our second visit Kevin really made sure I got what I was looking for from placement to application and was easy to talk. I really can’t say enough about this shop.

While vacationing in New Orleans, my husband set up a tattoo appointment at Tough Love. While waiting for him, I got tattoo envy. I looked around the shop for awhile. Vivian asked me what I was looking for. We talked for a few minutes and she designed a beautiful orchid after looking at some pictures online. She was brilliant and it turned out so amazing. Would definitely go back! They are so awesome and friendly!

We came to NOLA for a graduation trip and Alexa was our artist. We were able to get booked ahead of time with ease, she was amazing. Not only was the place clean and very professional, Alexa did a fantastic job in finding the exact font we wanted and we got in and out quickly. If youre in town and want to get work done, I absolutely suggest booking here.

My friends and I came here on a whim while vacationing from Michigan. We could not be more happy, period. We had no expectations and left the shop being absolutely amazed. We all agreed that we never want to go anywhere else for tattoos now because their work is SO amazing. Now we have to vacation every time we want tattoos! :) Every artist and employee was so sweet and welcoming to us. Alexa in particular is an absolute angel, but literally everyone was truly great. Can’t wait to come here again someday!

Everyone is so nice & Kevin did an AMAZING job on my tattoo!! I also had a problem with a tattoo from a different shop that was fixed by him & the color match is SPOT ON. I couldn’t be happier with the outcome of the tattoo he did for me & the fix he did from a different tattoo I had from a different artist. Kevin has crazy talent & I would 110% recommend him. As a witchy tourist, with over 30 hours of tattoo work on me, visiting New Orleans for the first time, I knew I had to commemorate my visit with a new tattoo. Not knowing the area, I used Google to find a place to get it, and I have to say they deserve their 5-star rating, 100%. This was an amazing experience from beginning to end.They were quick to respond to my questions on Instagram, they were incredibly friendly when I arrived as a walk-in, and my tattoo ended up so gorgeous. Matt at the front was kind. My artist, Kevin, and I connected right away and he was generous with his time to get my tattoo and placement just right.A lot of times at studios theyre closed off and judgemental about what a client wants, especially women, but the vibe here was welcoming and friendly, and I just felt at home right off the bat.The end result was even better than Id dreamt up!I cannot recommend this studio enough. Next time Im in NOLA, Ill come back here for sure.

Went on vacation with my husband for our honeymoon. Wanted to get our wedding date tattooed on us both and Allie and Vivian were amazing! Super sweet and were able to squeeze us in as walk ins! Definitely recommend this place as they are patient , kind, and clearly talented!!

My husband and I visited NOLA for the first time for a week for Halloween. NOLA had been top of my bucket list, so while down there we decided to get tattoos to commemorate the trip. We did a little research on shops around the French quarter and decided on Tough Love and were so happy we did! They were all very professional and extremely nice. Our artwork turned out just how we wanted if not better! I highly recommend.

Was visiting New Orleans recently and decided to try to get tattooed. Tough Love was excellent and accommodated walk-ins, which was great as it was a slightly spur of the moment idea. Everyone was friendly and welcoming. I had the pleasure of working with Alex who did an amazing job! Would definitely go back to him if Im ever in the area again. The piece was a scorpion and was exactly what I was looking for and he was fun to work with!

Cant say enough about the experience with this shop. From the initial calls to the end result they were personable, professional, and welcoming. Some tattoo shops feel like a doctors office, very to the point. This shop feels like hanging out with friends while getting tattd. Clean shop, cool peeps, good tattos at a reasonable price. Not much parking though but... thats NOLA for ya.

Jason was amazing to work with. He was very responsive and helpful with making our tattoo vision come to life and on such short notice. The environment in the shop was something we have never experienced before. The conversations were great and the people were as well. Will definitely be coming back the next time we are in NOLA!

This place is the absolute best. I was a walk-in and Kevin stayed after shop hours to complete my tattoo. He added his own touches and redrew my design to fit inside my patchwork sleeve. I’m so happy with it - 10/10 absolutely recommend this shop.

Love my tattoo I got yesterday from Jason! This is my second tattoo I got from him and it turned out awesome. The staff are all very welcoming and make you feel comfortable from the moment you walk in the shop. Very clean and aware of being sanitary during the virus. The shop has an amazing atmosphere and overall had a great experience. Wouldn’t suggest going anywhere else for a tattoo, this is the best place!

Moved to New Orleans recently and have been looking for a good tattoo shop to get some work done while living here. Found Tough Love on Instagram. Booking was easy and a great experience. My friend also wanted a tattoo and was able to get in as well. Enjoyed the space and atmosphere this shop has. Was very happy with my beautiful magnolia that Jason Ryan did on my leg. My friends tattoo from Alex Rice was also so beautifully done. Really great experience overall! Can’t wait to go back to get another soon.

A beautiful shop where you can leave with even more beauty on yourself! The shop is beautiful, incredibly clean, and I always feel welcome and taken care of from the moment I walk in to the moment I walk out. So much love has clearly gone into this place, and I will 100% always come back to this spot to get my work done. Jason Ryan has been my artist since I started getting tattooed a few years ago, and his art, communication with clients, and care for what he does is impeccable. I have complete faith that every artist on his team has the same amount of care for detail and quality as he does.

Love Tough Love! I live in Lake Charles, LA, and am more than willing to make the 3 hour drive to come here for their quality work. I’ve gotten two tattoos there, one from Casey and one from Jason. Both tattoos turned out phenomenal; they can provide any type of tattoo you’re looking for here. Atmosphere is really clean and professional. This is definitely my new go-to place for ink.

After contacting Hell or Highwater Tattoo few weeks before my trip to new orleans and they never bothered to follow up with me for a tattoo appt or call me back needed to then Google search of reputable tattoo businesses in area w great reviews came across Tough Love .NOLA. Great experience professional and both my daughter and my tattoos look excellent even better than would have thought possible. Very professional, talented as hell artists, reasonable for prices.
