Ash Masloff is such an incredibly kind, beautiful, talented tattooer! My husband and I keep coming back for more! The shop is clean and cozy! Everyone is super nice!

Wow! What a great experience! Myself and some friends were travelling through Portland and interested in getting a small piece done each. Hidden Rose was able to get us all in, make some tattoo newbies extremely comfortable, and was reasonably priced. Would highly recommend the services of Ashley, Leo, and Nick! Thanks a ton!

I have been here 3 times, and it was a great experience every time. Desk staff is very welcoming, the decor is impeccable. In terms of artists I have been tatted by Ashley once & Malia twice. Both are very attentive and create a comfortable space. These are both done by Malia. And i love them! the line work is gorgeous. Also the fact that they offer walk-ins as well is so cool! most places are mostly appointments only.

I have been here a few times and everyone is very friendly and welcoming! I have gotten tattooed a few times by Malia, and she always does amazing work! I definitely felt the shop was queer friendly and accepting.

Strongly recommended. My sister and I showed up from out of town on the 8th of May asking for a walk in session, the shop itself is very cozy and feels warm with beautiful art lying around. The artist who greeted us was very welcome and professional, we got an appointment arranged with Jake on the 10th of May. On the 10th when we walked in Jake was there already and had taken a look already on the design we wanted but we had changed our minds by then and had another design in mind, Jake was very kind and patient with out little changes of mind. He was very receptive to any idea and listened carefully to what we wanted. It is also safe to say that what we were asking of Jake was absolutely not his style nor the one of the shop but things were going in the direction we wanted anyway and they were very open minded. Leo , one of the shop founders/owner , was also present tattooing and he was doing some beautiful work as well. All the conversations we managed to have with either Leo or Jake showed that they are very level headed people, professional and with a good sense of humor. The tattoo shop was a tolerant and respectful environment with great music being played (Thanks for the recommendation Leo, Motorama are great!) . All in all my sister and I came out after spending the whole day there (it took a couple of hours to get the design right and then getting it tattooed on each of us) with smiles on our faces. Pricing was too fair almost, we took Jakes whole day and each exchange of word was a breeze . Absolutely love Malia. Shes so sweet, patient and light handed. I appreciate her input and recommendations when tattooing. I trust her enough to have started a botanical/bug sleeve with her!

I went in for a walk-in tattoo in March and was happy to be seen right away. Prices were fair, the location was clean and everyone I interacted with was friendly. I got a tattoo in honor of my dog who had just passed and had a shadow added to a tattoo that I felt was a bit boring. At the time, I was happy with my tattoo and didn’t have any issues during the healing process. However, since then there are some noteworthy issues:-There is bleeding ink in one area-Lines are not crisp/straight-The tattoo itches sometimes, and after treating an (albeit small) infection, I was informed by a healthcare provider that the artist (who I believe was named Constance) likely put the ink in too deep, considering it was done months ago. It’s also still raised a bit, which has been the case for a couple other so-so tattoos I’ve gotten. I’m no tattoo expert but I have enough now to know which were done well, and which weren’t.I’m glad that this location has such positive reviews, and hoping it was just a fluke. Luckily I don’t actually mind the messiness of it, kinda makes me think Troy (dog) wrote it out himself lol. I still thought it might be worth sharing for any perfectionists out there, and perhaps to provide feedback to an improving artist.

Overall a good experience, clean and well kept shop. However, Dan, my artist, left something to be desired. After a simple miscommunication about my desired design, this artist accused me of calling his coworker a liar. He then said I was wasting his time when I simply tried to clarify the size of my design and figure out a way he felt comfortable doing it -- which I felt was uncalled for. After all, its an hour of his time but permanent for the customer. Ultimately we were able to work it out and I was satisfied with the end result, but I will not be returning to this artist. Otherwise very kind and welcoming staff.

Todd Clark is the best! He took my design and drew it up, had me back for my appointment within an hour. Fastest walk-in turnaround Ive ever had the pleasure of witnessing. My linework was virtually painless and Todd is a very attentive and caring artist. 100% recommend, and Ill for sure be going back!!

I went here for a new tattoo, and let me tell you, the tattoo artist (Ash) exceeded my expectations waaaaay far beyond what I expected! They were extremely friendly, super fun to talk to while getting the tattoo, and they did an absolutely phenomenal job!!! I will definitely be coming back!! 😍😍😍 11/10 would HIGHLY RECOMMEND 👌👌👌

Me and my friend love our tattoos. was in town for a concert, called ahead for walk in availability and we were in and out within an hour and a half. staff is super friendly and understanding, shop minimum is fair. todd and dan are super nice and do great work. thank yall so much for the ink, will definitely be back in next time Im in portland!

During my visit to Portland in July 16, I decided I wanted to get a tattoo as my souvenir of my visit, since Portland is supposed to be the most tattooed city in the US. I saw this place while walking around town, and decided to go there the night before I left.As I walked in, one of the artists was outside, and he was very nice, welcoming me to their shop and telling me to have a look round. Another artist inside greeted me immediately and asked what I was looking for. I didnt have much of an idea yet, so I told him I would probably go for something already drawn up. He was super nice, and when I told him I found something Id like to get (an anchor for my Navy days), he said he had a scheduled appointment in just a few minutes, and introduced me to Alana. She and I briefly discussed the tattoo and agreed on a price.As a smallish tattoo, it didnt take long. Alana and other staff who walked by were polite and engaged in small talk with me. They all put me at ease and made the time spent there very enjoyable.Even though I have several tattoos, I think that I dont really look like the kind of guy who gets them, at least not regularly, at least at first glance. Ive often walked into tattoo shops and the artists acted slightly bemused, as if they thought I didnt know anything about tattoos and the whole process. Just because Im not young and decked out in goth attire or whatever, I often feel almost unwelcome. Not at Hidden Rose. The staff there were professional, polite, engaging, willing to walk me through some questions to figure out what I wanted, and never made me feel I didnt belong. That was a HUGE plus for me.I hope to get back to Portland again soon, and Ill definitely return to HIdden Rose for another tattoo.

Best place to get tatted in PDX hands down. I have had all my pieces done by Dan white. He is incredibly professional...super fair about price...and is overall a great person to talk to and be tatted by. I know from personal experience youll never leave a session with him disappointed. Also this shop is always super clean and everyone else who works there is incredibly friendly. Love coming here.10/10.

I have had several tattoos by Doug and have always been so impressed with his professionalism and artistry. He genuinely cares about his clients and his work. My husband and I have always felt so welcome and will continue to work with Doug. The others in the shop seemed great too.

I love this place and Doug and Leo are phenomenal! Always very friendly and do amazing work for prices that are comprable to the time and talent they have. Doug finished my half sleeve and did 3 other pieces for me and they all came out beautiful. Would make the trip from Austin, TX to this shop any day for more work here.

Ive been wanting a small tattoo on the inside of my ankle but finally bit the bullet and did it while on vacation in Portland. After doing some research I ended up at Hidden Rose. As a walk-in they got me in quickly and were really accommodating. Sam was really awesome and was chill and calm which helped ease my nerves. As a tattoo newbie I didnt know what to expect but they exceeded my expectations!

Best of the best. Leo Darlin has done all of my husbands tattooing (two sleeves, hands, back) and he has landscape on one arm and realistic animals on the other. Different styles and both incredibly detailed and gorgeous. Hes done most of my tattoos (one full sleeve of rosemaling, one half sleeve of a geometric landscape). We get asked all the time for recommendations and he is hands down the absolute best. Go see him first. You wont regret it.

This place is fantastic. Doug (one of the owners) is so professional and friendly. My boyfriend and I called on New Years Eve, asking if they were available for walk ins (most shops were closed by the time we were planning on going), and Doug was super accommodating and said he would stay open til we couldl get there. We each wanted a light saber on one of our fingers, a tattoo we had planned on getting for our first year anniversary and finally took the plunge 3years later. We werent expecting anything super fancy as theyre finger tattoos, but Doug far exceeded our expectations. He asked us which handles we each wanted (any Star Wars fan would appreciate this) and took the time to really get the details right on each one and they turned out AMAZING !! Im so impressed with the level of detail he put into these and definitely recommend this shop to anyone looking for quality work and great atmosphere.

These guys are awesome. Happened to be up in Portland and wanted a tattoo. Knew just about everywhere would be booked up so called around to see if maybe I could get a consult or a walk-in. Called these guys and they said come in and we’ll take a look at what you want. They looked at a picture of what I wanted and ended and said “sure we can do that” and I was getting tattooed 10 minutes later. Awesome guys and awesome tattoo. I got tattooed by Constantine (Instagram: tattoostan). Did a good job and still looks good weeks later

I received my first tattoo here, and had a few sessions. Each time I visited, my tattoo artist was awesome and professional. My tattoo looks great, and the other artists seem to do great work. He told me that if I was ever in the neighborhood one day in the future, to come back and see him to have a chat, and show him how everything healed etc. So yesterday, I was walking by with a friend and decided to stop in and say hello. I walked in and asked if the artist who did my tattoo a few months go was there, and they let loose on me. They told me that he had not been there for a while, that he obviously cant communicate with his clients, and they were extremely unprofessional talking bad about the guy. They lost their cool in 2 seconds involving me in their obvious dispute they had with the artist, and made me feel bad for even walking through the door. I was really disappointed about how unprofessional and dickish they were. Definitely was a hostile environment that I would not want to invest money or spend time sitting in that shop anymore.

I went here as a walk-in. Service was quick, clear, and clean in all aspects- from communication to the exectution of the tattoo. My artist was Renee Barasch, and she was very professional as well as a great conversationalist while she worked on my piece. Very grateful for the awesome experience.

Called the same day and got in for my tenth tattoo! Artist Todd let me show him pictures and understood exactly what I wanted, it took a little bit for him to draw it but it’s definitely worth everyone’s time because i now my favorite tattoo by far, lots of thought went into this tattoo and it was worth every penny:)

We were calling around all over the place, to get my partner a tattoo at the very last minute of the day, and right when we thought it was sure to be a lost cause, because everyone wanted to schedule for the next day, we found Hidden Rose tattoo, who not only got her in, but did an awesome job. What a cool place, and an accommodating place, and we couldnt be happier. So thanks, Hidden Rose! We will be back!

Ive been seeing Alana Robbie the last few years for my tattoos. Aside from doing amazing tattoos, Alana is by far the most passionate, personable, professional, honest and hilarious person ive come across in the industry. I highly recommend going to Hidden Rose for your next tattoo, you wont be sorry!

Came in as a walk in and we’re super nice about it at first. When I came in a told them what I wanted as I did not want a big tattoo but something very small. The heart they did looks like a circle and was not worth $80! For something so small they charged me $80. I now have to go somewhere else to get it redone.

Called to ask if they had time for a walk in small tattoo, and was told “no not today, good luck on your search” instead of being offered an appointment or any type of accommodation for possibly getting it in the future. Will definitely not be going to this place, ever. Completely rude.

I love it here, Doug was awesome and turned me onto another awesome artist Casey who also did some super AMAZING artwork on me and I cant wait to get more work done by him 😊 The environment and ppl are super chill !

Great communication with artist, super clean shop, great tattoo skills. It was my first visit, just a small piece but I definitely plan on returning for something bigger.

Update/responce to owner: cause it took me two years of getting more ink, talking to different artists and getting more experience to realize that the artist, it was a girl she had an unusual name, didnt care when she tattooed me and put little effort into it. and honestly i dont feel comfortable with her or you touching my skin again even to fix it, its a memorial piece for my grandpa, it should have been taken seriously the first time, not when i decide to share my experience and get belittled by the owner for not saying something sooner? i had my mom with me and my friend marisa with me, google even says i was here two years ago, so does the pictures i took right after the tattoo. i appreciate the offer to fix it i guess but after this experience id rather go elsewhere and pay money to have it redone. when i got tattooed it was the second chair from the room at the back end of the shop infront of the mirrors, friend sat/fell asleep on your cough and the lady went into the back room on the right when you walk in to the shop itself. i remember in detail things from your shop so before you go attempting to call someone a liar be sure you know your stuff. cause your comment pretty rude no matter how long i decided to comment.came in 2 years ago around saint patricks day, i got a celtic knot cross tattoo for my grandpa who passed away by a lady i cant remember her name but she was the only one in the shop. at the time i was happy cause everywhere i had called had a wait but after my tattoo i realized how she had rushed through the tattoo as lines are super super sloppy ( meaning there are hard ink trails going out of the actual design and look sloppy) as well as parts not looking like they got filled in, during the tattoo she ignored me completely and i almost past out due to her pressing in so hard towards the top of my arm by my vains, i was so white my mom had to get me water, but she kept going, at one point her gun jammed and she just pushed harder into me then turned up the amps on the gun n kepts going. the worse part was when she sprayed straight alcohol on my arm and proceeded to tattoo with the alcohol all over my arm. my mom was watching as well as my other friend. for someone with i think 6 years experience she said(?) that seemed odd cause none of my other artists had or have done it since, it was extremely painful. but the tattoo for my grandpa looks like a kid drew it with crayon, lines are super uneven( some are wider than others, others obviously dont mirror the other side) obviously ive never been back. but i kinda dont want to incase another botched tattoo thats supposed to have a lot of meaning in it. all in all bad experience and i hope you guys replaced that chick cause she will loose you more people, my mom was watching cause shes never seen a tattoo and i was trying to convince her to get one with me, that will NEVER happen now.

I havent even gone in yet and the lady I called was sooooo rude. Pretty much it seems like they dont like like money. Because they completely turned me off before even going in. Good luck to anyone who uses this place to get work done. Because if they tattoo like they act. Im sure you will be completely unsatisfied.

They show your skin no remorse, they don’t care if you bleed. For me this is the first time a tattooist made me bleed and I was told that is an immediate sign that you’re going to get infection.

I called in for a walk-in on Memorial day and was able to get squeezed in. Leo was great, very professional and we both are super happy with our tattoos.

Ash was very kind and made me comfortable the entire time. Even through my twitching, she was very understanding and it turned out beautiful!
