The woman who pierced my ears was great but I don’t love the jewelry. I don’t understand why they made it so hard to put back in your ears. The piercer responded to this and explained how to properly put them in which I appreciate a lot. They aren’t impossible but it is more difficult than average. Place has great vibes and if you are nervous about a first piercing Salem will take good care of you. She also helped me figure out a concept to make my ears look good. I get a good amount of compliments about my daith(i think). She gave me three piercings all at once and it hurt but barely and was as smooth as i could imagine. Also my lobe piercings are very symmetrical.Seemed expensive to me but I don’t have a frame of reference 😅. I wish they had some cheaper options but I understand what I got is actual gold so my ear won’t turn yellow.

I got my tattoo done by Morgan, and it was amazing. I love the tattoo so much, and she is so nice. The entire process up to getting the tattoo was easy for me, and Morgan was super kind. The shop was so cool inside; it had a goth vibe, but I prefer a darker area, so it worked out. I came late to my appointment due to traffic but was still able to be seen, and they were very understanding. I liked how the shop was empty when I got my tattoo, so no one could watch me struggling. She offered to finish it another day if it hurt too much, but I pushed through it. This was my first tattoo, and Morgan helped a lot. She dry + wet wiped, answered all my questions and concerns without judgment, which made me feel comfortable overall. The tattoo has healed well and has maintained its darkness.

I made an appointment in august for all the way in January, due to my school schedule. I wanted “fairytale” honeybees and got exactly what I wanted! Terry worked with my reference photos to create something more beautiful than I could’ve imagined. It’s healed very well, especially for a fine line tattoo! It was my first tattoo and everyone made me feel comfortable! This photo is 8 months healed.

Had an awesome experience at SinnerG! I got my tragus pierced with Salem. She comes highly recommended and did not disappoint. The shop itself was really cool and the person at the front was friendly. They have the best selection of jewelry and don’t pierce you with the standard plain metal bar which I loved! Salem was so nice, down to earth and funny. She was knowledgeable and clearly very experienced. She kept me informed about everything she was doing as she was doing it and made me feel really comfortable. She gave me detailed aftercare instructions and made sure I knew to book a follow up. The level of care was unmatched here. I won’t go anywhere else for piercings from now on!

This was my first time at SinnerG, and also my first tattoo. It was an amazing experience, as all of the employees and artists were friendly and professional. The studio is immaculately clean, well-decorated and has a great vibe.

From the moment I walked in I felt comfortable. Got my paperwork done then waited maybe 10 minutes when Terry came and took me back to her station. Her friendliness and professional was exemplary. She may have taken more time prepping then it took to do the tattoo. Very pleased with her work and have already requested she do another.

Samantha Brodek is an amazing artist. And she didnt awesome job on mine forearm. Shes also very nice. Which is not always been my experience with tattoo artists. The shop is very professional and responsive.

Best tattoo parlor Ive been to!! The inside is gothic heaven adorned with oddities and curiosities! Everyone is so nice and fun and Morgan has done two of my tattoos and she does an amazing job! Everywhere I go I get compliments and I will definitely be back many times!

Such awesome vibes in this shop. The staff was friendly, and the atmosphere was perfect down to the music. The booking process was also a breeze. I had a tattoo appointment with Morgan, who was able to take my design idea and turn it into something more beautiful. Super happy with my experience.

The perfect spooky atmosphere paired with the loveliest staff! Salem the piercer was a delight to work with. She easily troubleshooted old piercings I had gotten from other shops that never quite healed right and figured out how to make everything old and new look and feel great on my ears particular shape. This will be my go-to tattoo shop from here on out!

Salem, the piercing specialist, is always kind and caring. She is professional and has excellent communication with her clients. She even helped me a heal a rather nasty piercing I got at a different establishment in the Richmond area by replacing the jewelry and checking up on it regularly throughout this past year. I am absolutely blown away by this shop. Its clean and a super friendly atmosphere. Sabrina Elliot started a realism bobcat on my hand, she free handed it to fit and it turned out amazing! Everything from the consultation to getting tattooed went very smoothly! This guy is a master at what he does! He freehanded a super bada$$ raven and skull on my forearm. Everytime I have been here its been nothing but relaxing and fun! I had an appointment with Terry to get a tattoo I had previously emailed her with confirmation she’d tattoo it. When I sat down with her for the consultation day of, she said she wanted to change the tattoo so it would be her own because of copyright? Copyright of a bumblebee, are you kidding? I told her I wouldn’t have booked and put a deposit down if she was just going to say she wouldn’t do the piece I presented because I had looked for months for this exact tattoo of a bumblebee and didn’t want to change anything about it. I should have trusted my gut and just walked out then because the rest of the experience wasn’t pleasant but having already put a deposit down I stayed. Her vibe was completely off and she just gave off horrible energy. Her line work is good but I haven’t recommended anyone to the shop just because of the experience with her which is really unfortunate because the owners were putting a lot of work into the space!

Getting my dream piercing turned to a nightmare. When I was initially pierced, the jewelry had no internal or external screw option so she struggled to snap it on but didnt suggest trying different jewelry. Im not the professional, I figured this was safe do. She said that in our next appointment that would change & she would order new pieces to make it easier on the both of us. That did not happen. None of my set was ordered or available when i came for my appointment so I had to wait again. The piece she used instead was snap on again but with a shorter bar this time. She then tells me shell contact me when my pieces have arrived & never did, I contacted her further & she said theyre still making the piece so I was stuck with the snap on set for another few weeks (I have a vertical labret). I became frustrated with the wait & decided to just keep this jewelry, but obviously I wanted to change it at some point. I got different jewelry & changed it with no problem. Now that I am trying to go back to my original, the piece is not only hell to put back in, the top post bent to a 90 degree angle & broke in the process so now I have to get a new piece asap or else I may have to lose the piercing. This saddens me greatly as I was so excited about this piercing & shop. I am not familiar with piercings, but I feel as though it should have been mentioned that the snap on set could only be put back in by a piercer considering that it bent & broke off when I tried to push the top back into the other piece of jewelry simply without clamps. I will definitely do my own research & be more adamant about what I want next time around.Edit: Had to take my compliment back after reading the response. Ignoring my emails, a supposed one-two week wait turning to 4-6 months without any kind of notice, now this. Of course I wouldnt put down a deposit; after claiming it would be ordered Twice (because you continually forgot me as a client) I just figured you may not want to work with me so I left it in your hands & did my own thing until I would hear from you. Which would be fine if you had just explained to me that you didnt order it the first time rather than posting CONTACT ME VIA EMAIL on IG continually and then not answering my emails for weeks, into months until last minute just to tell me its still not coming, even the piece you said would be easier to get, never heard from you again about it so I no longer expected a response. You said you would contact me to set an appointment, which I would have to make & attend in order to put down my deposit (why would I come that far & put down a deposit on something that was ordered twice but still hadnt come after that long...) If you said the typical wait for orders was 2-4 months I would have understood but you said shipping only takes around 7 days & then stopped contacting me... The person who changed my piercing was even confused as to why that piece was allowed to be used in the first place. Deposit or not, you knew I wanted to change my jewelry asap & told me twice that my pieces would come/be ordered soon so I remained hopeful that youd keep me in mind & updated & that they were on the way. I understand being forgetful without a reminder but you didnt even ask me to remind you or something, this cant be the first youre finding out you might need a reminder for some services you complete so its harder for me to feel better about yeah I just forgot you because I didnt have your money sorry as a response now. I would have responded in email, but your response felt passive aggressive & I dont think thats fair in this case. I was very excited to be working with you, I was even exciting after suspecting you forgot me the first time, but being forgotten again & seemingly ignored for months was disheartening & confusing considering we had such a good first appointment. No hard feelings, just a little disappointed about how youve went about the whole thing post piercing. Thanks for responding though.

Salem was amazing with my septum piercing, and are Terry is so talented, I couldn’t be happier with my new tattoo. Will definitely be coming back for more!

My daughter was getting her ears pierced for the first time on her 16th birthday. We refused to go to some mall outlet that may, or may not, clean thier guns. We met Salem Black online and knew that was the only way to go. She had a WIDE variety of choices in what we could get. My little gothling got a gold skull and a black ball. Salem asked if we wanted 16g or 14g. She explained the pros and cons of each and let us decide. She never pushed us in any direction but at the same time offered knowledge on both sides. My daughter is over the moon with her professional experience. The shop also had some of the most amazing shirts and witchy bath bombs. The Vlad Tepes shirt was a particular favorite of mine. There is not a person in this shop without expertise. I cannot recommend Salem and the whole staff enough. If you go anywhere else you are making a mistake. This shop, in my opinion, is the embodiment of goth, beauty, grace, and intelligence. Thank you all for making the best birthday ever.

Love everything about SinnerG! One of the best places Richmond has to offer. Beautiful and spooky, the space is incredibly lush with art and ambiance. I notice new details every time I go. Worth stopping in just to shop the cute retail space in the front and see the insanely cool things they have created and curated—but the artists are all fantastic too! Salem is an angel - shes taken such good care of my piercings over the years. She has a very safe, clean practice and Id trust her with my life. I started seeing Sabrina last summer for a big project because I love her work. Every visit has been wonderful! The atmosphere in the shop is awesome (the dynamic between coworkers, music selection, killer decor), and I always feel welcomed when I walk in the door. Our conversations are great and I really enjoy spending time with her at each appointment. The work she’s done for me is incredible! Highly recommend!!

Mixed review...Salem is THE BEST. Get pierced by her, you won’t regret it! She’s so sweet and talented.Terry is super talented and you will be happy with her work once you get past her rude attitude. I had a really rough experience with her fighting my design and telling me she didn’t like it. I spoke to other people who had the exact same experience. It’s strange how abrasive she is with her clients. Not the positive experience I have had with other tattoo artists!

Terry Downs is extremely hostile and rude. Her work is fine, but she is controlling (not out of what’s best for you but what’s in her best interest) and extremely unprofessional. No matter how thorough the online consultation is she always unprepared and waits until your appointment to go over any concerns/artwork she isn’t confident in her ability to do. It defeats the whole point of the “consultation” but by then you’ve already put down the non refundable deposit🙃

Salem was an absolute angel! She made me feel comfortable and safe; she explained every part of the piercing process and answered all my questions patiently and in detail! I will definitely be going back to Salem for any future piercings and will be referring her to everyone I know!

Salem is an amazing, friendly, knowledgeable piercer and I love her to bits. She makes every effort to make me feel comfortable in her chair and make informed decisions. She explains every step of her process, why she is doing it, and how. Over the past year I have not received any piercings other than from her and I live over an hour away. She is worth the travel, wait, and cost. (Their receptionist Eden is also a perpetual delight!)

I got 2 conch piercings with Salem and the experience was amazing! She was super nice from the time I walked in and helped me decide on cute cohesive jewelry that I’m IN LOVE with. She also helped me with a healing piercing I was having issues with and everything seems great so far. I have been seeing Salem for three years, and I cannot recommend her enough! I think the fact that I continue to come back for her piercings continuously year to year show the quality and care she puts into her work! I haven’t been disappointed once and even when a piercing didn’t work with my anatomy, she took that into account and offered and alternative that would be a similar placement and work on my body. Even since moving to Boston two years ago, she has been my only piercer, and I will continue to stop by SinnerG to be pierced by her every visit when I’m in Richmond! Go! You won’t regret it!Salem pierced my septum, double mid cartilage, upper cartilage and flat combo, double tragus, conch, faux rook, and nipples. She also replaced the jewelry in my daith and has anodized my posts and jewelry to match the yellow gold look I prefer!

She made me feel so comfortable from the start, and when we both agreed that we needed more time to perfect the design at my initial appointment, she fit me in two days later so I could get my tattoo before I left town—I never felt rushed or pressured to make a decision. My piece is absolutely beautiful and better than I imagined. I highly recommend Terry and Sinner G!

Took my daughter for her first piercing. The shop is really cool. The staff, man let me tell you they are awesome. Friendly knowledgeable and just all around great. If you want a piercing and tattoo (from what I saw of the artist working) I highly recommend SinnerG.

Salem was amazing! She communicated everything clearly and took her time to make sure I would be happy with the results. I was nervous because previously I had my double nostril piercings done at a different shop and they hadn’t been even. She took time to mark the area and repeatedly checked the marks herself as well as having me look at them and explained why she put the marks where they were. She answered all my questions and made sure I was educated on the healing process. I can’t wait to go back it’s definitely worth the hour and twenty minute drive for me!

Salem was so incredibly kind and gentle! I got my flat and tragus pierced and she was a pleasure to work with. She was also very patient when I went in for jewelry adjustment and dealing with my tiny ear holes was quite a challenge in adjusting the tragus. Everyone in the shop is so lovely and also it’s an amazing place to get spooky gifties. A+++ experience all around.

I got my first nose piercing here by Salem and I couldn’t happier with the result! Everyone at the shop was so kind, welcoming and helpful. Salem explained every bit of the process, did a thorough job of ensuring a pristinely clean environment, and was detail-oriented. Salem is a fantastic piercer!!!! She worked with me, listened to what I wanted, answered my questions, made informed suggestions and got me a high quality custom earring at a great price. The day of the piercing everything was hygienic and ready to go. The prices were great.

I received a tattoo from Terry about a week ago and I can’t explain how awesome both she and the tattoo was. She took the design I verbalized and produced an image that was exactly what I had been picturing. After we already agreed on a final drawing, I had a quick question about the design, and she was very calm and patient while she once again talked me through the image. When it came time for the actual tattooing, she was very hygienic and was a lot of fun to be around! Terry very quickly created a flawless fine line tattoo that is beautiful. The healing process has been exceptional, and everything is looking great. I would 10% recommend Terry to anyone who was thinking about getting a tattoo. Also, a quick shout out to SinnerG as the studio was very clean, professional, and health conscious – which is even more important with the Covid-19 pandemic. I can’t wait to go back for another!

I love this studio! Sabrina Elliotte is a very talented and kind artist. She is very considerate to her clients and has a very light and delicate hand while working. I’ve had work done by Jorge, Sabrina, and Salem. Everything I have gotten has been perfect. This is the shop to go to if you’re looking for creativity and beautiful art. The vibe of the entire shop is welcoming and comfortable. Everyone is having a good time and friendly with each other. By far my favorite place to go for tattoos and piercings.

I cannot say enough good things about Sabrina Elliotte. As an artist and as a person she is just wonderful.Two years ago I went to her to get a decent sized upper arm tattoo, after not getting a tattoo in 8 years. I gave her a bunch of vague ideas and noncommittal answers and was just generally the worst. She came up with a gorgeous piece and spent the next few months working on it. I came back a year later wanting to add on around the edges, and she jumped right in. You can’t tell that the outer inch was done a year later, because she made it all blend in so seamlessly. The detail and the line work are just stunning, and I have had probably two dozen people ask me where I had my tattoo done.On a personal note, Sabrina is just a truly lovely human being. She is kind and generous and really cares about people. In fact, I was a little bummed when we were done because I was so used to hanging out with her every few weeks!You cannot go wrong with SinnerG tattoos, and I would recommend them every time.

Terry was so great! She was prepared with my design when I came in and nailed exactly what I wanted. The process was smooth and she was very personable. This was my first tattoo and it was an awesome experience! I was very impressed with how nice the staff is and how clean everything was as well.

Sabrina did an amazing job of personalizing my tattoo. It was my first tattoo and she talked me though the process and really made me feel comfortable/confident. It was a relatively small tattoo but she paid so much to detail, I was very very impressed with her work. I 100/10 recommend getting your tattoo from sinnerg, I don’t think I could ever go anywhere else.

Salem is the best! She made me feel super comfortable during my consultation and the day of my appointment for my nipple piercings. She answered all questions and also provided thorough information that I didnt know to ask. Due to the NSFW nature of my piercings, I will not post photos.

My mom and I came across Sabrina and her work and asked if she would be interested in doing a mother/daughter matching compass & flower tattoo on our fore arm. Let me just say, Sabrina is absolutely incredible at what she does. She takes attention to detail not just in her tattooing but also listening to her customer of what is desired for the tattoo design. Her line work and shadowing is amazing! She also makes the time spent in the chair enjoyable with her laid back personality. She has definitely earned a loyal customer in me and I’ll be returning to her for more work!

During my appointment, not only was she super excited about what I wanted to get, but she had all kinds of ideas for me. After my beloved dog passed away, I knew I wanted a tattoo to commemorate her and I went back and forth on what style I wanted. I was afraid of getting a portrait because I wanted it to be perfect. After seeing Sabrina’s work, I was confident that she could do it. My tattoo is absolutely perfect and looks exactly like the picture I sent her. It’s also noteworthy that it’s a pretty small tattoo and she still put in an incredible amount of detail. Aside from being super talented, Sabrina and Jorge are also really friendly and down to earth, which makes for an overall pleasant experience. Highly recommended!

Amazing tattoo studio. I started going here after talking to Jorge, one of the owners, and have not stopped going. The staff is very welcoming and take into account the customers opinions and interests. On the occasions that I needed to reschedule they did not have any issues and gladly adjusted. The artists are very personal with the clients and adjust the artwork as need be to meet every persons needs and wants.

SinnerG is one of a kind! From Edens incredible customer service while booking to the magic tattoo work by Terry, I could not be more pleased with my experience at SinnerG. The vibe of the shop is SO COOL. Already can’t wait to go back for a piercing by Salem, who pierced my friend, and was the nicest person ever.

Sabrina does some seriously beautiful work. Her style is hard to come by where I live, so I was so excited when I found her. She worked with me on the design and was extremely meticulous during the whole tattoo, making sure everything was perfect! She was also super easy to talk to which made the time go by so quickly. Id absolutely recommend her if youre looking for something whos going to put every bit of time and effort into their work!

Fronkie was a delight to work with. Her art work is amazing! shes easy to talk to, no awkward silences, I was able to zone out when I needed and get a few stretches in. You can tell she wants her clients to be comfortable during the procedure. Youre going to be there awhile, so you should be as comfortable as possible.When I walked into the studio lobby I felt like I was home. Loved the Gothic, dark decor of the place. It really spoke to my inner Goth.I will return for my next piece and highly recommend this place.

Everyone in this shop is so kind and the decor is stunning! I went in for my appointment with Salem for a piercing. She is so sweet, professional, and sanitary. Especially in pandemic time, its nice to know the precautions taken to make sure its a clean and comfortable experience.

Terry is super talented and I loved her work. I was a little disappointed with the professionalism as I made an appointment for November back in July and when I showed up at 1 pm for my appointment I was told to come back at 3 since she was running behind. That was okay with me because things happen. Then I got a call again from Terry asking if I could come back three days later and when I said no (since I was coming from out of town), she said she could see me at 4. Just kind of sad that I was so excited to have her tattoo me for them to ask if I could come back three days later, making me worry that she did not give 100% for my tattoo when I showed up at 4.

Traveling for work, made an effort to reach out via email and pass along my interests for a small ear tattoo. Talented artists should be able accommodate their clients, at the least make a recommendation to continue that business relationship.Received an email reply that all their work is “medium-large” pieces. Understandable, they could’ve done better though. Two stars for lack of effort.

Salem has been my piercer for years! I don’t trust anyone else to do my piercings, especially after having multiple bad experiences at other places. I will always recommend anyone to see Salem!

I’m sure some people have had great experiences with Terry Downes, I believe that if you like the initial sketch she shows you, you had a completely different experience from me. When I did not like the sketch she showed she became extremely hard to work with. She wouldn’t listen to anything I said and wouldn’t even try to make the sketch better. She was adding sloppy lines and expecting me to put it on my body? This was a few months ago and I’ve had no interest in getting a tattoo since bc if this is what I should expect from tattoo artists then I’m out of this game. I had a friend with a really similar experience with her stubbornness. It’s really frustrating and makes you think your the problem, we sat there for a painful hour trying to figure something out but I had to walk out. She was a nightmare and needs to work in her attitude. It creates a hostile and intense tattoo experience. If you have had good experiences with her that’s great, but be warned if you don’t like her sketch, it will be a rough experience. Clean place though

Sabrina took my sad tattoo and turned it into a beautiful piece of art, she made it look better than I ever imagined it would look. She was also so incredibly attentive during the whole process, always asking if I wanted water or coffee or numbing cream. I wouldn’t ever dream of going to a different artist for any detailed/floral work, Sabrina exceeded all of my already high expectations. Such an amazing person, 14/10!!!

GO GET PIERCED BY SALEM NOW, THIS IS YOUR SIGN. I went in to get some piercings redone after taking them out for years. I was able to go back and forth with the piercer about what I wanted and she answered all my questions online ahead of my appointment. And once I got there she worked with me on a game plan for the work needed after a consultation for my anatomy and level of scar tissue. After we agreed on an approach she had everything setup and sterile. She communicated every step of the way. When the initial approach wasnt working out to her satisfaction she came up with a new plan of action, explained it thoroughly, got my consent and made it work. I had a blast while there and could not recommend this amazing person any higher, if youre in the area THIS is the place to go. The shop took COVID protocols very seriously and I felt safe there

Unprofessional and uncourteous establishment. I made an appointment for a phone consult for October 11 in April. The time for that consult came and went so I called the shop. I was told that Mitch was out of the country and unable to do my consult that date, they would let him know I called when he was back. I called a week later and was told that they were busy and backed up, but they would let me know when my consult could be rescheduled. I called again today and was told again they were extremely busy. Its frustrating to be excited about a tattoo and an artist when an appointment is made in April for October and then not have my time or value as a customer be considered. There are plenty of other shops in Richmond that are just as good that treat clients as valued people to go to instead. I would not recommend this shop or Mitch.

Gwooki is an amazing artist and I love my tattoos. He did one large tattoo on my arm and one large one on my leg. I am constantly getting stopped and complimented on them. Went well beyond my expectations and I could not be happier with the end result. If you are looking for an amazing tattoo and artist you cant go wrong with Gwooki & Sabrina! I recommend them to everyone I talk to.

Terry Downs was incredibly hostile, impatient, and rude. She made me feel like I was the problem. Not only do I have subpar tattoo work on my body, but I left SinnerGs feeling and still feel triggered by my awful experience.

Sabrina and her husband George, their work is pristine ! I personally go to Sabrina and she blew me away with the amount of detail, shading, and line work ! Excellent work. George(gwooki) took my basic theme idea and did plenty of research on his own time to create a one of a kind freehand biopiece that just blew me away. Although being tattooed for 10 hrs isnt pleasant, the great conversation we shared sure helped ease the pain. I was also fortunate enough to also meet his wife sabrina which also is extremely talented and a pleasure sharing stories with. To meet complete strangers that make you feel like youve been friends for years is priceless, you almost forget your getting a very sick tattoo at the same time. Definitely top notch group of people.
