I went here to get a flash tattoo for Friday the 13th and the shop was outstanding. They had the most interesting flash set to choose from in town and they also handled the crowd well. They were happy to answer any questions, help you understand where you were on the list, and they were exactly right on what wait time to expect. My artist Marcus was very kind and did an amazing job on my arm piece. I will be going again for their next event. If youre on the fence about going, just walk in. The atmosphere is kind and inviting.

Self Inflicted Tattoo Downtown is a tremendous place. Everyone is extremely kind, really the best people. Every artist is a master of their craft and are great at communicating and listening to their clients. Every artist offers something different to the shop in their own unique way, but as a whole the team can fulfill any tattoo dream you have possible. Got a spontaneous matching tattoo with my cousin and we chose this location because of the amazing reviews - and they deserve every positive review they got! Adriana is absolutely amazing! Id wanted a Lana Del Rey portrait tattoo for yearsss, and I knew I specifically wanted a woman whos great at portraits to do it. Anyway, Adriana is hands down the best around for portraits or any sort of detailed tattoo. Shes also very nice and understanding.Ive since gotten a Lucifer tattoo by her, and I definitely plan on coming back!

If you are looking for top notch tattoos this is the place to go. I would trust any of the artists to give me a tattoo. I have been to Adriana I few times. The tattoos I got from her are always sick. She does a amazing job and explains how and what she is going to do before she even gets started. What sets them apart from other shops? Everyone of the artists are passionate about their art and you can tell it. You are not just another client to them. If I could give more stars I would. I highly recommend checking them out for your next tattoo.

I know the Friday the 13th specials are busy, but the constant lying by the staff is so rude and such bad service, Ive got to give this place 1 star.I arrived around 330 and was told the wait would be an hour to an hour and a half. After an hour and a half, I asked again and was told it would be 45 minutes. ANOTHER HOUR later I asked and was told it would be an hour or a bit more.So to be clear, after waiting OVER 3 HOURS, the staff was still telling me about the same wait time as when I first arrived.I cant tell you about the quality of the tattoo, because at that point, I just left. And would never, ever return.

Went to Adriana for the biggest tattoo I’ve ever gotten and she absolutely killed it. I sent her an idea to work with and when she showed me the final product it was even better than I could’ve imagined. I have followed her work for quite some time now and I was so excited to get one of her gorgeous lady faces on me. With it being a bigger tattoo, she constantly made sure I was comfortable and gave me breaks as needed. She kept me talking the whole time which really helped once we hit the 2 hour mark. I had a really good experience (first tattoo), starting with emailing Adriana, her responding fast. This led to calling me and setting up a consultation right away. When I had my consultation with Adriana, she made me feel comfortable as she answered my all of my questions. Day of getting the tattoo, she explained what to expect and was able to keep me distracted and calmed by talking to me. In the end, my tattoo turned out amazing. Thank you so much Adriana

I went to Self Inflicted for a piece that had been on my mind for a long time. I’d seen the standard of work online and asked Adriana if she could book me in, which she did, at a time that suited us both. When I arrived Adriana had already sketched my idea, adding the influence of her experience, to create a design that exceeded my imagination.I’ve got two other large tattoos already, but this one was the least painful so far. The work was done quickly but unhurried, and the way I was treated in the studio was professional yet with remarkable warmth and dignity.Self Inflicted Tattoos sets the standard for how it should be done. The staff there are really cool, the artwork is outstanding and Adriana was brilliant, from initial contact to the handshake at the end.If you’re looking for some ink, look no further.

I contacted Self Inflicted Studios wanting a tattoo for my daughter. I saw Mikah Webbs work on the website and from a few other reviews. He was awesome! The stencil he drew looked great. As he tattooed, he added some elements that made this tattoo look incredible. I would recommend him and the studio all day. My wife also got a tattoo from Berk. Walked in and got both nostrils pierced, had a great interaction with the piercer and she made sure placement was even and the piercing was well executed. Got me in and out and was very happy with my experience, will definitely be coming back for a tattoo or piercing in the future!

Had a great time working with Justin over the past few days to get my first tattoos. Went in on Monday to get the first and loved his work so much I went back 3 days later to get 2 more pieces done. Justin does amazing work and its quick and clean. Great person to chill with while you watch him work. Other than the amazing service I definitely have to say the shop is full of amazing artist who seem to all work very well together resulting in much better finished products.

I got a cover up tattoo by Adriana and let me just say.. wow! Not only did she complete everything I wanted in a tattoo she went above and beyond to make it perfect. Adriana did everything she could to make sure I was comfortable and she was just a very kind and phenomenal woman. The shop was extremely clean as well. The man that does piercing (I forgot his name I’m so sorry) was also amazing, both times I was in the shop he walked me out to my car to insure I was safe. Adrianna Maria is a phenomenal artist and I highly recommend her to anyone! I’ve seen her for my last four tattoos and she never disappoints. She always makes sure to take her time and pays attention to every little detail so that I am 10000% happy with my art before I leave. My experience with Adriana was far from any other tattoo experience Ive ever received! She was so sweet, talked me through every part of the process, and was very gentle. Cannot say enough good things about Adrianna. Her artwork is amazing, I gave her a rough concept and she created the most beautiful piece. Her lines are so clean and she does these small white highlight that make her pieces pop. She was also super fun to talk to during our appointment and made me feel super comfortable.

I first met Alex after I came into the shop from having several botched ear piercings! As soon as I walked into the shop I was greeted immediately and I ALWAYS look forward to that when patronizing new businesses. I explained to Alex my concerns and not only was he genuinely caring and honest, he also educated me on procedures and answered every question I had with no issues! (I had a lot of questions lol) I ended up getting a double conch piercing and it turned out beautiful! The variety of jewelry Alex has is gorgeous and unique!! Alex at Self Inflicted is the only piercer I will ever go to again!! I have had plenty of bad experiences when getting piercings until I went to Alex. He is very professional, he cares about his clients, and he is so passionate about what he does! He gives his honest opinions and great advice on how to take care of your piercings and what will and will not work for you specifically! When I was having issues with a piercing I received from another place, I messaged him on Instagram and he replied immediately, helping me figure out how to get rid of some serious irritation. I went back to Alex yesterday to get some new nose jewelry, and he was very honest and helpful about what would work for my nose! Plus, he changed my jewelry and made sure I was comfortable the whole time! Seriously, Alex is the only piercer I will ever go to again, he’s the best!!!!

Came as a walk in. Figured we’d have to wait a while. Was told an hour wait, but was more like two and a half hour wait. Artist was nice and very talkative. Nice shop. Was cool to see all the wall drawings.Now I’ve had many many hours in a tattoo chair, in fact have one in the same spot on the other arm. But never have I bruised the way I did with this one. The amount of pain AFTER the tattoo was wild. I’m not sure what the deal was but holy moly was it uncomfortable. Honestly think the dude was just in a hurry.

Everyone here is incredible. I get tattooed by Adriana and Phil. Not only are they talented, but they are amazing people. I love having their artwork on my body. I look forward to coming here always and just love the environment and everyone here. 100000/5 stars 🖤

Jeff hooked me up with my first and only tattoo. Ive wanted it for 5 years and he made it look perfect. It took about 3-4 hours. He took breaks at the perfect times and we had great raport. Upon entering Self Inflicted Studios, youll find yourself not only in a piercing and tattoo shop, but an art gallery. What really impresses me about this studio is that each tattoo and piercing artist there is multifaceted, having talents in painting, sculpting and more. This studio is very professional, clean and the staff is friendly. I appreciated their welcoming attitude...some other shops in the area are very smug but that is not the case at Self Inflicted.I walked in with my tattoo design in mind, and Dustin N. was very happy to give me some advice before going under the needle. Since I’ve been back home I’ve been looking for a good tattoo artist and Adriana did not disappoint. I’m in love with my tattoo and look forward to going back to her. I’ve been recommending this place to whomever will listen.

My husband and I went in last Summer to get some new ink by Jeff Steffens and both tattoos turned out AMAZING. The shop is clear. The staff is nice and laid back they all make you feel comfortable. The prices aren’t bad. We both will be going back.

I went as a walk in this past Saturday and had a great experience. First tattoo in almost 8 years and I forgot how addicting they can be. I will most definitely become a regular. I give 2 thumbs up for Justin Randazzo. Tattoos and piercings.

Facility is very clean and staff is professional and friendly (especially considering I was a walk-in and they took me back right away). Had a small piece done by Jeffrey recently and he was knowledgeable and very easy to work with. Line work is smooth and precise and pricing was very fair. Every time I’ve been to self inflicted I have seen Adriana and she has done amazing work every single time. Her work is badass and speaks for its self and makes you feel at home the entire time. I will only be coming here for now and seeing her.

My friend and I came into the store as a walk in. We received the best service imaginable! The dude at the front desk was only there for a week and we were stunned to find that out, he was dope af! We came here on Friday night with a group of girls after a conference. It was a great experience. The guys in the shop all made us feel welcome and even changed the music to something less metal (although I love metal, my coworker was not a huge fan).Jeff and Panda are awesome. Jeff did the book and coffee cup blackwork on my arm and Panda did my friends WP Coffee Talk logo and the coffee cup with lips.It was quick, easy and the tattoos came out great. New favorite shop in stl, its super clean, everyone there is super friendly and all of their artist are PHENOMENAL. My first experience was with LT Woods and he did an insane job on exceeding my expectations. I plan on having the rest of my left arm done by LT and also go to the other artists as well for future pieces.

Very clean, hip, fun atmosphere! Everyone was super friendly and they are all amazing artists. Ive known Mikah since grade school and have always known how good he was, but Ill never use anyone else again! I gave him an idea and he ran with it and I couldnt be more pleased! Had an amazing experience here! Not many studios do smiley piercings which is what I came here for. Nicole was super nice and was able to do a smiley piercing for me. She made the whole experience very personal and fun and makes me want to keep coming back! I highly recommend this place!

Got a small sternum walk-in piece done by Justin Randazzo. He was very respectful considering the tattoo’s location, and he was patient as I made him change the stencil size multiple times. The process was quick and the tattoo has healed well.

I have never rated a tatto shop at all on any forums or social media, however, Panda at Self Inflicted has certainly earned it. Hes such a friendly and charismatic guy who does fantastic work. I would recommend him to anyone.

Originally i had left 5 stars on this business because they have never done me dirty AT ALL up until this point. so i went the st peters location to get my tongue pierced, long story short another piercer (yuyu) had looked at it and it was pierced completely incorrectly to the side. so i had went to this location three weeks later like the piercer said. i go and everything was going great i get my tongue repierced i think everything is fine. until the swelling lasted for 13 days and didnt go down. i went to a different shop to get my nostril pierced and i asked the piercer there if my tongue looked normal and he gave me the most concerned look ever and said i dont even have the anatomy for a tongue piercing because the webbing of my tongue is too long. so i message the piercer who repierced me (yuyu) about everything that was concerning me and sent pictures of my tongue. she confirmed that she had pierced me incorrectly. so that was two times from this business (st peters location and the st louis location) that they have pierced my tongue without me having the anatomy for it. :( i DID get a refund though for the piercing i did pay for and yuyu offered to sent the tip i gave her throughout venmo. (the second piercing was free for the first one that was messed up in the first place) so i really respect they left it off on good terms, apologized for the piercing, refunded me for the original piercing etc. but seriously it is dangerous because if a tongue is pierced incorrectly it can lead to heavy complications which is very concerning, i got lucky.

Tom Burton did my first real artwork. While my parents are avid haters of tattoos, my father claimed whoever did it, had talent. Tom B takes his time, is very detailed oriented & I am never disappointed with any of the additional 3 I have added & a forth on the way. Everyday, at least once I am asked where I got my tattoos done & who did them. I am always excited to recommend others to Tom.

Update, the shop is even better and Mikah did another fantastic tatoo. Still highly recommend. Its a very nice shop. Its clean and open. The artists are fantastic. Mika Webb did a fantastic job. I recommend.

Nathan is an amazing artist. I am a picky person who is never satisfied after getting a tattoo because there is some aspect of it that I dont like. I went here Friday the 13th to get a dermal . the wait was a lil long because of the tattoo deals lol but once i got back there it was time. first i was a little nervous until Justin started explaining the process to me. Once he started he finished so fast that i didnt even know he finished & i left him a tip. I recommend going to him for your piercings. I will be back for my next 4. Thanks Justin 😘😘😘

LT Woods tattooed me last time I was in Self Inflicted. It was my first time being tattooed by a new artist in a while so naturally I was a bit nervous. From the start of the consultation, through 5 1/2 hours of sitting, and on to taking pictures of the comlpeted piece at the finish...LT was AMAZING. Mikah did matching labyrinth tattoos for me and my husband while we were in town for a work trip. We originally wanted to add to the design a little, but Mikah patiently talked to us about what would work well and what wouldn’t for the size of the designs we wanted, and we trusted him. In the end, he was totally right and we love our “simple” line work anniversary tattoos!

I have been getting tattooed since i turned 18 and have had worked done at several shops in stl. After being tatted at SIS and seeing the level of artists that work at both locations, they are the only shop i will go to going forward. They have a very personable and friendly staff and super clean facility!I go every year for my bday tattoo and have always had my expectations exceeded. Next yr in May I will turn 36 and cant wait to schedule my next appointment!Thank you guys for alawys getting my bday off to the best starts year after year!

Had a couple tattoos done by Devon Plopper. Absolutely the best artist i have ever met. Extremely clean and comfortable environment. Everybody that works there is extremely helpful and I couldnt think of anywhere else id want to be tattooed at.

My tattoo artist was LT Woods I came in there to get a mother daughter sleeve with elephants. He told me that it was going to be the max of $3000 when it was finished and he charged 100 an hour. So I put $800 down as a deposit for my last session. So he drew my sleeve up when I came in to check it out I wanted the trunks of the elephants up instead of down but he said no, he wasnt going for it so I just went with it cause tattoo artists know best right? So I go in for my first session to get the outline and it was 8 hours I spend over $1,000 because he said it was $150 an hour now I dont want to fight with him because hes my tattoo artist and hes tattooing something permanent on my skin so I just went along with it. Then after about two more sessions I had to cancel because my house caught on fire and then I cancel another appointment because I had to work. After i tried to cancel the appointment for when i had to work he got upset him and his girlfriend told me that theyre not going to do my tattoo no more that theyre going to cash out my deposit all because I canceled way too much, when i had only cancelled once before. Well I then I told my boyfriend that I basically was out $800 because they werent going to work on my arm no more, he got pretty upset called them went off on them without me knowing trying to stick up for me. After i found out what my boyfriend did i called LT and apologize for my boyfriend, he decided to reschedule one more time and that would be my last session. So when I came in on my last session we started and I fell asleep on and off throughout the whole thing. I brought my little sister with me and she told me afterwards that every time I fell asleep he would get up and leave for a long period of time then he purposely messed up the trunk of one of the elephant, Ive been told it looks like an alligator, and one of the legs to one of the elephants is smaller than the other. Now Ive paid over $3,400 on a half sleeve instead of a whole sleeve to be messed up. I have to find a new tattoo artist to finish what he didnt finish and a fix what he messed up all because of something my boyfriend said that i had no part of. To me thats very unprofessional and rude especially since I put so much money into it and have to spend more to get it fixed and finished.

I have been going to Self Inflicted for quite a while now and I always come to Jeff. Hes done a few pieces on me now and they always turn out better than imagined. When I come to him with an idea, he always manages to turn it into something better than I thought possible. Hes always sure to give you exactly what youre looking for, but I personally like to let him do what he thinks will look best and I am NEVER disappointed. I am now a lifelong customer of his, definitely check him out!

Hands down the best place to get a tattoo in St. Louis. These guys are real artists and are not just hammering out flash art tattoos for a buck. I would not get tattooed anywhere else.Whether youre all sleeved out or getting your first tattoo, youll feel comfortable here as all of the guys/gals are friendly and professional. I sent my 50 year old neighbor to get a little tattoo on her ankle and she came back with nothing but good things to say. I was super pumped to use this place, based on so many good reviews. The tattoo has ink blowout around the edges and the coloring doesnt even reach the outline. By far the worst tattoo Ive gotten. Now Ill just have to find a place to try to fix it. So disappointing.

Me and my boyfriend went in there today and i couldnt tell you the guys name but whom ever we were speaking to today I told him and showed him a picture of what I wanted and my boyfriend gave him a idea of what he was going for but he had asked him do you have a picture? we both sat there for a few minutes trying to find one real quick but this guy wasnt even helping us wouldve figured he wouldve tried to help draw something up considering he told him exactly what it was that he wanted. Well we went to sit back down after a minute because this dude wasnt even talking to us anymore so after sitting back down dude walked off and I was shocked because he wasnt even trying to talk to either of us. Soo needless to say after about 5 more minutes I told my boyfriend lets just go he apparently doesnt want the sale or for us to get what we came for so we left and went somewhere else and left from that shop completely satisfied. I was pretty annoyed and so was my boyfriend we both felt like this dude didnt even try to help us we sat and researched some pictures to try to help him get a better idea but he just walked off that there isnt good customer service if you ask me thats not cool at all. While the shop was very clean whom ever had talked to us I guess just didnt really care. Im not a tattoo artist but if I was I would be drawing up stuff options for my client discussing with them we got none of that. Safe to say that first impression left its mark on us and we wont be going back in the future.

Have visited several times now and every time my expectations are surpassed. Every artist in this shop is the definition of professional and you can tell they take their craft very seriously. I cannot wait to continue my business with them in the future!
