Azappa Tattoo and Piercing

Abbey is incredible. Her custom work is meticulous and she has brought every weird idea I’ve had to life. Very creative artist and her line work is super clean and precise. I would 100% recommend her to anybody. She has done six pieces for me and we have three more planned. I am over the moon with every tattoo she’s done for me.

It was my first time in Connecticut and I had an urge to add a tattoo to my collection. I called up to see if they took walk-ins and they did. Mark did my tattoo, he is very knowledgeable and helped me with placement ideas. I showed him my botched tattoos and told him I was afraid of getting another tattoo, since my other ones bleed heavily and look like a blur now. He ended up using the smallest needle and took his time to make sure everything was perfect. If I could give Mark 10 stars I would!Customer service: 10/10Environment/Cleanliness: 10/10Vibe: 10/10

Erica has done 3 tattoos doe me and all are beautiful. My husband and I had a flash done featuring mushrooms which came out awesome. She did a tattoo session foe my daughter and I and was so great talking to her the whole time as a first time tattoo. Thank you Erica.

Abbey is an incredible artist, throughout our 4 hour session, she consistently made sure I was comfortable and allowed me to take breaks as I pleased. She made sure I liked the placement and size and got everything perfect. She’s super nice and welcoming and made my experience getting my first back piece so so fun!! Will definitely be coming back!

Went in for a lower leg tattoo with Mark. One hour into the session my restless leg syndrome kicked in and my leg twitched like crazy for the rest of the session. I was embarrassed and felt so bad and apologized non-stop, afraid I was going to be dismissed. Mark was wicked understanding about it! He worked through my twitches like a true professional and I was very impressed. Great place!

Erica at Azappa for a tattoo artist is incredible!!!! She helped me pull off an amazing surprise for my husband!!!! I had the tattoo planned for a while and she was just the right person to help me out. We got a couples tattoo with words from a movie we saw over 20 years ago on our first date. When I told Erica I wanted it to be a blind surprise she was so in!!!! The script came out great and it’s so much fun to be in Erica’s chair. I can’t wait to get more ink from her!!!! She my new go to tattoo artist. Her skills in art are incredible and it shows in the details of her work. I wish she had done all my tattoos I already have!! Erica also gives out a super cute little gift bag after you get tattooed. So thoughtful and reflects her vibes!! Erica isn’t a tattoo artist that just plops you in the chair and done. She cares about your story and does her best to make you right at home. I highly recommend her!!!!! And also all the other artists there were fun to chat with during the process. Great place!!

WOW!! Absolutely wow!! From the moment I got to Azappa tattoos and piercing I instantly felt welcomed! The environment was great!! I went with my 10yr old daughter who I was surprising by getting a tattoo that represents us with our song “as it was” by Harry Styles. We arrived and Erica had a surprise up her sleeve that made my tattoo absolutely PERFECT! She had my daughter write the lyrics in her own handwriting!!! How amazing and thoughtful! I definitely shed a tear with that one! She was great with explaining in detail the entire process from start to finish and even gave us goody bags after with aftercare and snacks!!! Two best things, tattoos and snacks!! lol THENNNN. she had my daughter sit to put a temp tattoo on her of one of her own beautiful art pieces!!! My daughter told me “I wish I could have this and it not be temporary!” Lol overall, Erica made this experience for me and my daughter absolutely amazing and so memorable! Easily the best tattoo experience I’ve had. Mark did a band around my calf and from start to end he was attentive to detail and communicative. Beyond his precision, Mark had a fantastic light touch. It was a treat to have work done at Azappa and I hope to be back soon!

I came here a few months ago and worked with Abbey Edmond. I had an idea for my tattoo but couldn’t really figure out how to get that idea in my head down on paper or if I was describing it well enough. I had a specific image in my mind that I wanted a tattoo for my daughters. Abbey worked with me and when I saw the tattoo she drew up it was better than I could have ever expected and EXACTLY how I had pictured it, if not better. She even helped me with placement as I was still uncertain where I wanted them. The tattoos came out perfect and healed very well with no issues as I followed her advice to the T. I will definitely have to come back and get more of the tattoos I want from her. The tattoo parlor was also very clean and I loved her decor. The environment was friendly and I really enjoyed the experience. Highly recommend for anyone looking to get their next tattoo!

I have got all of my tattoos here with Abbey and I am always left impressed and in love. She is an amazing artist and has a way of drawing your vision and making it come true. Abbey at Azappa absolutely blew away my expectations! She was so fun to work with and was completely chill and accommodating through the entire process. I cant say enough great things about my experience with her. At no time did I see any frustration from her if I was indecisive about placement or size. I like to put a large amount of trust in the tattoo artist permanently changing my appearance, and Abbey made that process so easy! If you are thinking of getting some work done in the area, please do yourself a favor and at least set up a consultation with her because you will be excited to work with such a bright young talent in the area!

Abbey has done numerous tattoos for me and all of them have been nothing short of incredible. When we planned my large scale jellyfish on my leg, she was extremely attentive and listened to everything I wanted done. Her work is incredible, she’s super personable, and overall just amazing to interact with. I would highly recommend seeing her for any tattoos you want done.Overall the shop is extremely clean, all of the artists are very kind and professional, and is a great environment.

When I told Abbey about wanting a realism shark tattoo, she was psyched to work with me. She listened to exactly what I was looking for, designed, shared, & made any modifications I wanted. She is an amazing artist, fun to talk with, and takes so much pride in her work. She maintains a super clean environment, (as does the entire shop) is meticulous with her line work and shading, and is going to go to big places with her skills. She hit this piece out of the park...I am already thing about my next piece.

I took my daughter to get her first ever tattoo (and of course more ink for me as well)! Erica Treaster at Azappa Studios is incredible - She cultivated an extremely safe space for a first tattoo experience, explained everything in detail including the strict and stringent clinical aspects of tattoo artistry, made sure to check in often, take breaks if needed, and supported Gs artistic vision for exactly what she wanted. 10/10 recommended, especially for a newbie.The shop is cleaner than an operating room, well appointed and organized, light and bright, with a very positive vibe. All the staff I met yesterday are welcoming and personable. I couldnt have imagined a better experience for a first timer, and I am so grateful.

Had a custom tattoo done by Mark - I was looking for a Family Tree design with my faith incorporated. Mark drew it up and performed the tattoo. He is amazing and Im very pleased.

I’ve had a total of 3 tattoos by Abbey. The first was 6 months ago, a small daffodil celebrating a 10 year anniversary. The second was a memorial tattoo drawn by my late dad and the third was a coverup-rework of my first ever tattoo. Abbey was patient with my indecision about size, understanding when I welled up a bit and kind enough to do tattoos that are not her personal style. I like everything about the shop and Abbey specifically. The appointment/deposit was straightforward and the shop is spotless. This is a very important feature to me. I highly recommend Abbey and Azeppa if you are considering your first or your hundredth tattoo.

Ive had two tattoos by Abbey, both of which when she was very new and it was a great experience. One was in her preferred style, and the other wasnt. Both shared the same quality - and Im very happy with both. Will likely stop in for another in the future.

I’ve gotten three piercings by Maddie (vertical labret and 2 nostrils) and she makes the environment very safe and comfortable, i have anxiety and tourettes syndrome and she’s always understanding and patient. i’m very happy with the piercings i’ve gotten from her and the experience as a whole. i also have a metal allergy and she’s been very accommodating for that. i highly recommend her :)

Went today, kind of on a whim, and was really not sure what to expect. Met Mark, he’s kind of a quiet, no nonsense type of guy at first impression, but man, he is amazing. Looking around you can see all of the things he draws, tattoos, and, talking to him about what my visions were for a future tattoo was also amazing. Clean lines and just overall beautiful work. Already put down a deposit for my next session with him. So glad I called and asked if they had any opening for walk ins!

Abbey helped me get in the same day in between clients and did an awesome job of customizing something for me. She is very professional, the shop is clean, and the music is righteous! I will be back again, thanks Abbey!

Beautiful clean shop! I have been tattooed by Mark at his past 2 shops as well! All my tattoos have held up well and are beautiful! I recently tried his new shop and saw Kat. I got smaller script to start and she was absolutely amazing! Definitely my only 2 artists ! The first 2 are done by Mark and are a few years old and the last 2 were done by Kat a few weeks ago and I love!

For the New Year flash & piercing sale i went to Azappa for the first time! the environment was so friendly and the shop is sooo cool. I got pierced by Maddy, who was very patient, sweet and understanding. She gave me a water and a lollipop after which i loved. I also got a flash tattoo from Mark. We talked the whole time and it was a great conversation. His art is amazing and he did a great job on my cool new tat. Also met another piercer, Tommy who did my GF. He was very sweet and chill to talk with for a minute. Loved my experience and everyone i met there❤️

I decided to repierce my first and second holes here. I had let them close over the last couple years after them being open for a decade. In theory, since I had already had the scar tissue to hold the piercings they should have been no issue. My first red flag walking into the shop was that they do not carry the jewelry they have in the display case. I was asked if I wanted different piercings in each ear initially but they could order me the matching set. I settled on matching gems, I wasn’t paying to have 4 different earrings like initially suggested. I figured this place would be better than Claire’s. I was wrong. Within a day of having what they call piercing safe jewelry in, I had a rash on the side of my face and my ear lobes were double the size. I contacted the piercer who had no explanation to why my ears were having such an adverse reaction. I then took them out, so I didn’t end up in the ER. Let that monstrosity heal. I went back Claire’s anyways and needless to say I have had zero issues. If you’re looking to get pierced here, I would recommend Claire’s as a better option. I would not trust this place with any piercing. I couldn’t imagine the issues that would come from any facial piercing or more delicate areas. I spent 160$ for body candy quality jewelry.

I went to the shop to have Mark finish a tattoo that was outlined on my leg. It came out excellent! Mark is extremely professional and talented! I am so happy with the finished tattoo!

Abbey is THE BEST!! Not just for her artwork but the experience as well. Im a very sensitive and highly anxious customer. I have the hardest time at tattoo shops because of my neurodivergence, but as soon as I walked in Abbey treated me like we were already friends! I told her my vision, she brought it to life, and I could not be more happy. I immediately made my next appointment and cant wait to make more! I will continue to drive over an hour for both the artwork and the positive vibes!As for the shop, its comfy, clean and in a good location. This will definitely be my new regular shop.

I’ve already had four tattoos done here, and Bex—one of Azappa’s awesome apprentices—is working with me on my sleeve. Mark is fantastic as well; he’s quick, does super clean work, and comes with a great range of experience. Everyone in this shop, from the apprentices to the owner, makes you feel welcome and always happy with whatever you get.

Tommy and Maddie were amazing! They were so great at answering all our questions before our piercing appointments, and during the appointment they took their time to explain everything and were so knowledgeable. I am so grateful for their patience - our group got an assortment of ear and cartilage piercings and we were all extremely happy with the results!

Abbey did an amazing job on a cover-up piece for me! She listened to what I wanted and then was able to come up with some incredible colors for my peacock feather.

I had an excellent experience here with Tommy & Sophie for my Daith piercings. They were extremely professional and made my experience amazing. The tattoo shop had a great vibe, very bright and inviting, and everyone was welcoming. Loved the woman painting at the front. The shoppe is extremely clean and high attention to hygienic standards and care. I would highly recommend them.

After an extremely long day of flash tattooing (and dealing with rude and inebriated clientele) Mark was gracious enough to squeeze me in as one of his last tattoos of the night. In addition to that, he was beyond personable. I can’t imagine how hard it is to get a newer business on the map, but it seems like Azappa has some great people and is headed for great things!

Called Azappa Tattoo and Piercing after trying to get a hold of another place for a month +. Tommy was extremely pleasant and was able to get me in immediately. He was very personable and this was the best piercing experience I’ve ever had. I am SO happy with his professionalism and expertise. Would 110% recommend him to a friend and plan to visit him again in the future for more piercings!!

Had an appointment with Tommy for a few piercings, with it being a day of an event, he was able to see me within a timely fashion of the appointment time. Took the time to explain everything, including aftercare and even went as far as ensuring I was feeling fine through the piercings. Definitely will go back again for a piercing.

I got my piercing done by Tommy and another person and they were very friendly and easy to talk to. I got exactly what I wanted out of my experience, it was my first time getting a face pericing and it was really not as bad as I thought it would be, the piercing was quick and they taught me how to clean it afterwards. For other first timers something to fiddle with really helps, I had like a little spikey ring and it helped distract me. Anyways Im going to go again once I got the money for it.

Had an awesome experience today getting pierced by Tommy! The shop was super clean, he listened to exactly what I wanted, and I barely felt a thing! I have little to no swelling and he made sure I was thoroughly educated on how to take care of my piercing. It came out absolutely perfect and I couldn’t be happier, I will definitely be recommending to all of my friends:)

I got my Final Fantasy 7 tattoo in 2007 based on the logo for the video game. It was frequently confused for an ice cream cone, so I finally opted to add onto it. I chose my tattoo artist at Azappa based on her previous work on instagram. I came to love Ericas style. I sent her pictures of how I wanted to alter my tattoo with a silhouette of main villain Sephiroth. She made me feel we were collaborating on the piece together. I felt comfortable with her guidance; Erica implemented her aesthetic while also including my input. Her demeanor was both professional and warm through the process. In the end my tattoo became something much more sophisticated than its former self. I am grateful to have this piece of art on my left calf. It certainly will not be confused for an ice cream cone any longer.
