I got my ear pierced by Afton. She was so helpful and kind! She explained aftercare very well and had many options for jewelry. Apperantly she does belly buttons, lips, and all that! I highly recommend her. Most other places seemed like they wanted me in and out and to take my money BUT I could tell Afton really cares about each customer and piercing! Great prices too!

My tattoo artist was Dixon and he did AMAZING!! I am so happy with my tattoo, and Dixon vibes so well while tattooing. He even added more detail to the scars half way through after I told him they were important to the character! I had an amazing experience and will definitely be coming back for my other tattoos, the shop is clean and comfortable and everyone vibes so well. This is absolutely my favorite tattoo and I am so lucky to have had an amazing artist do this for me! Absolutely 10/10 would recommend come get your next tattoo here!!

My friend and I did a walk in to get a piercing and Curtis our piercer did a fantastic job. He was quick and precise, he was also funny and social that it made the experience that much better! We love our piercings and will definitely be back!

I see Jessie for my piercings. He has always been kind, informative, respectful, and is great at what he does. My piercings are always straight and look great! Would highly recommend! :)

LOVED this place!!! A friend and I came in for a walk in and Kapa at the front was very sweet and accommodating, he gave me advice on my tattoo and what would be easier for me and the artist which was soooo helpful and sweet. I wasn’t able to get my tattoo the same day but I was able to book an appointment the day after, and was even able to come in earlier. Spencer was my artists and not only is his art amazing but so is he. He was so sweet during my tattoo, I had numbing cream when I first went in and once it started going away he made sure I was doing okay and checking in on me since my tattoo was in my inner bicep. Throughout the whole tattoo we talked about all sorts of things and made me feel very comfortable and welcome! I HIGHLY recommend coming here, they seriously are so welcoming to everyone that comes in, it’s definitely a tattoo shop I’ll be coming to again!!

Jesse is very clean and fast with piercings but I got my nose piercing and my septum with him. I had to get my septum done 3 times and he was very nice about it. Afton pierced my belly and she was so kind and gentle.

Didn’t realize my photos didn’t work when I originally posted a review… I was recommended by my sister in law to go to Steve for my first tattoo and he crushed it. Super chill guy and 14 months later, my tattoo looks great! Photos are brand new in April 2022 (Steve actually took the photo for me) and June 2023 to compare. Would recommend the shop to anybody!

I got to work with Travis from Big Deluxe at the Hell City Tattoo Fest, and he’s one of my favorite artists I’ve ever worked with. He was very upbeat and kind while we were working together, and super understanding when I needed a break. His line work is also really nice and he did a wonderful job on my tattoo! I was recently in about a week ago. Spontaneous drop in to see how far they were booked out. Turned out Joe had some time the same day. I was stoked of course. I spent 3-4 hours in his chair and Im completely satisfied! The man has some serious skills. Definitely recommend! 👌

My artist, Bryan was amazing. He was so kind and truly showed care towards me. My tattoo took longer than he initially thought, and so he didn’t charge me for an hour and a half - or what he normally would charge for this kind of tattoo. He also took care and walked me to my car (it was late), because he was concerned for my safety and didn’t want me to walk alone. I’ve never had a tattoo artist show that much care. This is a person who truly cares for their clients well-being and goes above and beyond. On top of that, my tattoo looks amazing. He also offered to touch up a couple tattoos I got done here years ago (we couldn’t figure out who did them). Thanks Bryan!

Ive been in a few times to have work done by Collier and honestly could not possibly be happier with the whole experience! Front desk is fun, nice, and efficient. I love the camaraderie between the artists, theres a good vibe of mutual respect and friendship. Collier is a serious artist and I get compliments on everything hes done multiple times a week. People are absolutely shocked that my half sleeve is over 1.5yrs old because it looks brand new! If you need work done, get to Big Deluxe.(the video is when this was freshly done and not quite finished, but it literally looks the same today. Will update with finished piece when I have a minute!)

Jesse did a great job on my 3 piercings (lip nose, ear). He was open about quoting prices and talking earring options. For the piercings he was quick and gentle. Everything was sanitized and professional. Thank you!

I got both sides of my nose pierced as well as a second lobe and this was the BEST experience i’ve ever had being pierced. DJ was so sweet and was really detailed in his explanations and the whole process was completely comfortable and quick. He did an amazing job working with my existing piercings and double checked my preferences to make sure the placement fit what I want to do with them in the future. I will for certain be coming back, and i highly recommend this place for anyone nervous about it. DJ is a fantastic employee and a credit to the business.

Curtis was awesome! Did my two hoop piercing back to back and took less than 5 min before I was out the door. Honestly didn’t even feel the pain because Curtis distracted me with conversation. Can’t recommend him enough! Also very fairly priced.

I’ve been tattooed by Collier numerous times and he never disappoints. Awesome guy and an amazing talent. Same goes for Jordan, if you ever need a fun and colorful tattoo, he’s your guy.

As someone who doesnt frequent the tattoo/piercing world often I can find these shops quite intimidating, but I love that I feel comfortable here. The store can be daunting at first but youre greeted by the friendliest staff (a guy with long hair and a blonde girl and dark haired girl who are the nicest people on the planet). I went in for both a tattoo and a piercing and I can say I also had a fantastic experience with both.Sai was my artist for my very first neck tattoo and I had a great time. I love that the staff is bilingual, but I especially love that he gave me his professional opinion even if it wasnt something I wanted to hear. Im in loveee with my new piece.Curtis was my piercer! He is by far my favorite part of this business. He is funny, witty, and so inviting. I was so nervous to get repierced but he made me laugh so much with his silly dad jokes I forgot about it. Hes very informative and honest and Im glad to know he takes pride in his work because I know Ill leave the shop happy (which I have twice). I leave this review highly recommending him, especially if youre nice person looking for a fantastic experience.

I was visiting town and decided to add another piece to my collection. Walked in after breakfast and got a 6pm appointment. Billy was receptive to my idea, drew up 3 different versions and made a killer piece of art for me to enjoy forever. Staff was friendly and engaging from the time I walked in to the final touches.I will certainly pass the word around and come see these guys the next time Im here. Besides the world class service and super clean work area, the price was very reasonable.

Got my bridge done by deej and I knew immediately it was crooked and he told me it would straighten out after it heals. Never did and was never happy with it.

I went in on a wild adventure. I had wanted to get a particular tattoo for nearly four years. After walking in and showing Carlos my idea, he said he would do it. He seemed almost as excited as I was. He drew up his vision of it. And six hours later here is the final result. I would definitely go back for future tattoo and will be seeing Carlos again. Thanks.

Everyone of them have been professional and amazing artists. They knock every piece out of the park! I’m not an easy customer to please, but they are awesome. I do not recommend going to him, hearing this makes me question many things; the quality of the art that just got permanently placed on my body, the skill, training, and ability of the artist, and the quality of the shop as a whole, not only that, Steve used the same small lining needle to shade the entire tattoo, absolutely shredding my skin in the process causing me to bleed out of the second skin within an hour, I have 70+ tattoos and never experienced bleeding like that, this is my third tattoo from Steve, I’m done giving him the benefit of the doubt after the blown out line on one tattoo he did or the inconsistency in line weight and gaps in the lining on the other. I will not be returning to big deluxe while Steve is still employed there. He was right when he told me he should’ve stayed an elevator mechanic.Included in the pictures are the swelling, peeling second skin, and a day after picture

Big Deluxe is the best tattoo shop in Utah! I’ve gone to Konrad and Collier for all of the work I’ve had done and I can’t recommend them enough! Konrad has done both of my sleeves and with the amounts of compliments I’ve received on my work, I’m grateful to have such beautiful work on my body. The shop itself is very professional, clean, and a fun atmosphere overall. I could not recommend enough!

Great place! Big Deluxe has been around for years and was one of the only few reputable places to get a tattoo back in the day. I got a sleeve done there by Buddha and he did a killer job. Everyone I met there while getting sleeved was good peeps. Now days you can go anywhere in the valley to find a good artist, but Big Deluxe has the respect from years of experience that the other newer shops dont have. Go check them out.Correction: They ARE better the rest,Buddha turned my arm into a work of art!

Came in to try and get a walk in appointment and set up pretty quickly with a bit of time to wait. The staff was very friendly and helpful which helped ease things so much. Randell was my artist and was extremely professional and did such an amazing job he also made sure since it was my first tattoo to clearly go over the after care stuff with me too. 10 out of 10 would highly recommend to anyone

I got my spinal tattoo done here by McKay. He did amazing work and was light handed with his tattooing. He has a good personality and made the experience one to remember. He is an amazing tattoo artist and I will be back to get more tattoos from him.

When you walk in you know this is the place to come get some ink. Fun and friendly staff. My fiance and I were able to walk in and get 3 tats between us in a short amount of time. We both had Sam who did a STAND out job. This was my first tattoo and my main concern was getting crisp clean lines and thats exactly what I got. I will definitely be coming back!

From piercing to ink, they have a lot of great employees and artists. This trip was for a navel piercing and the piercer was legit, informative, gave great care tips and seemed to care that we were happy with the piercing. You can’t go wrong at either shop.

This is my second spur-of-the-moment walk-in to big Deluxe and each time was welcomed with a friendly hello and had a short wait period. Both times I got Buddha who is a great artist and very easy to chat it up with. Asked to make sure that youre taken care of and okay frequently, and we spent the time doing the tattoo with him agreeing to help me draw something out for the sleeves I want. My dad gets tattoos from another employee there, they all seem really awesome! Is definitely a little pricey, but with work well done its more than worth it.

My girlfriend and I both got tattooed here recently and have follow-ups for color and shading. Billy did mine and Konrad did my girls. Both artists were knowledgeable and did fantastic work! Will definitely be returning for more work in the future. Great pricing and excellent pieces. All around a great experience!

Went to Big Deluxe today with 3 friends after our original plans with a different piercer fell through. They were super accommodating and were able to get us in same day! Afton was super friendly, and really walked me through each step. I always get super nervous before a piercing, and I felt super comfortable with her. The actual piercing went so smoothly. Will definitely come back to see her again!

Gettin tattooed by Brighton was the best tattoo experience I have ever had!!! I was just a walk in yet he paid immense attention to detail, was a comforting and enjoyable conversationalist, and had so much passion for his work - I cant even imagine a better experience than with him. He took so much time to make my tattoo perfect not just for me but because he cared about his work and his career, I would sincerely recommend him to every person I could. He wasnt restricted by the style I wanted not being in his usual comfort zone, he embraced the challenge and truly became a friend during the experience. Hes my go to guy from now on. 10/10.

Steve and Carlos are very professional artists.I got my tattoo done by steve. I came in on Thursday knowing what i wanted, but i wanted it to look a certain way. Steve took my jumbled thoughts and put them into the best memorial tattoo ever. Thanx.My friend got his done today to cover the self mutilation scars and we didnt thunk that they would be able to give him the tattoo he wanted due to how old the scars were(1 month), but low and behold it happened.

Curtis has done two of my piercings here before and seriously done such a great job and his energy is to die for.

Everything about my experience here was perfect from start to finish. Everyone is very organized, efficient and friendly throughout the entire process. Was beyond easy to schedule a consultation, then set up an appointment. Brighton was my artist, and I couldn’t say enough good things. Amazing during the consultation, then when it came time for the tattoo he absolutely knocked it out of the park. Amazing attention to detail, comfortable to be around and very personable, start to finish gave me my favorite tattoo yet. It’s obvious Brighton loves what he does and takes great pride in his work, I will absolutely be recommending Big Deluxe Tattoo and Brighton to anyone I know that’s looking to get a tattoo. I went in to buy some jewelry and get it installed. Curtis is SO nice and great at what he does!

I went in to get the ball on my septum ring replaced and had the pleasure of working with Curtis. I had just gotten my piercing done at another studio a month or two prior so the area was still a bit tender, but Curtis was so quick and gentle putting the replacement ball on I literally didn’t feel a thing! The ball was the perfect match the first try, and all he did was look at my piercing. You can definitely tell this man knows what he’s doing. He was kind enough to tighten the other side for me as well. I wish I would’ve done more research before getting my septum done and gone to Curtis initially, because Big Deluxe’s piercing prices are so reasonable, I feel like I really got ripped off at the other place. I was so comfortable the entire time, no awkwardness or bullsh*t. Even though our interaction was brief, he gives off the vibes as if we are old friends. I will be definitely returning for my future planned piercings!

My wife and I walked in on a whim while visiting Salt Lake. This was an excellent experience. The folks at the shop worked to fit us in and find artists for us. The wait wasnt too long, and the staff did a great job of making us feel comfortable and determining our desired designs. The artist that worked with me was Dixon. He did an awesome job of finalizing the design on the fly, and it turned out beautifully.

Big deluxe is the place to go for piercings and tattoos! The customer service is immaculate, and the atmosphere is so cool. I had my nipples pierced by Curtis, and he was extremely professional and so kind! I am so stoked on my experience with him and my piercings! I cant say thank you enough! I was nervous for obvious reasons, but Curtis made me feel so comfortable and at home during the process. He was super personable and such a sweetheart! I will continue to go back to him for future piercings. If youre looking for a place to be pierced and are unsure, look no further because this is the best place in SLC to get pierced!

Can not share enough about this shop and Rich D. AMAZING artist. He did my first tattoo (was a larger cascading back and side piece) and now is working on my sleeve. I gave him a baseline idea and he designed and colored as he saw fit. I have gotten so so many compliments on the design, the colors, and people asking where I got it done ( both locally in Utah as well as on a international cruise I went on).I could not be happier. They are skilled here, friendly, and professional. Highly recommend!

They are crooked and way off (their septum and my lobe). Even after mentioning that I would like it to match position with my older piercing, he managed to mess it up (it angles way too high in the back of my lobe so the back of the earring butts up against my skull).I wish we had just booked the next day elsewhere.

Came here as a walk in, the customer service is next level. Every last person was kind and attentive, and my artist (McKay) was incredible. Me and my friend went and got different tattoos with different artists and both had an absolutely stellar experience start to finish.

Jackson is one of the newer artists, but dont let that fool you. He took the extra time on my quote tattoo to ensure it was done correctly. He made sure to double and triple check his work and went over any questionable spots thoroughly. He did an excellent job and I highly recommend him.I also got my nose piercing here. Theyve been my go to for walk-in work for years.

Big Deluxe Tattoo is a great shop to go to if you’re a first timer or if you’ve had tattoos in the past. The environment is very welcoming and relaxing and the staff is very accommodating. The shop is very clean with a lot of cool decorations everywhere for you to keep your mind busy with you’re being tatted. They always make you feel at home by asking if you are doing alright and if you need anything (food, water, a break, etc).My artist Danie is the main reason I go to this shop. She is super friendly, personable, and has crazy talent! She always gives her heart out on every tattoo she does. So far I’ve gotten nine tattoos from her and they look amazing. The healing process is always very easy and she always instructs you on what to do. Everyone always compliments my tattoos and asks where I go. I won’t be going anywhere else and to anyone else for my tattoos. Thanks again Danie you rock!

My wife and I have gotten a few tattoos done here and have been more than happy with every single one. Travis is the artist I use, that did my coyote and he is amazing. If anyone asks me about tattoos this is the place I send them.

Friendly staff and chill environment. Lots of great artists here. I went to Sam for a fix up on a tattoo i had and he blew it out of the water. I ended up returning for another a week later. Hes very experienced and talented and takes the time to make sure I am happy and comfortable with the work. Cant wait for more!

Ive gotten 3 tattoos from the wonderful and amazing Collier Delambre! Every single on of them were PERFECT. hes so gentle and makes sure Im comfortable throughout the whole tattoo process. Danie is one of the best artists out there! I absolutely love every single piece that they have done for me and really trust them with my life. Not only do I get an amazing tattoo that will definitely last a lifetime, but get to be surrounded by good energy in a good environment! It can be hard to find somewhere that has everything you need but I know that big deluxe is the place to go and Danie is my ride or die recommendation. I will travel out of state just to get more work done by them. 100/10 rating & will definitely be back. I also enjoyed how hospitable Big Deluxe is right when you walk in the door!

Every piercing I’ve ever gotten done here has lasted, not rejected & I constantly get told I have a perfectly straight septum. As well as that my philtrum is super centered.Collier is my main tattoo artist & I’m so happy I found him. His work is so original, & well thought out.I’ve told him I would get anything he drew up & he made something that was very much my personality! I love telling him to just surprise me with anything because they always turn out to be my absolute favorites.

A group of friends went for some spontaneous piercings at 10:30pm on a Saturday night and everyone was so good to us. Afton did my piercings. She was kind, accommodating, knowledgeable and encouraging. I have some skin issues so when I told her that i chose to speak to my dermatologist before getting another piercing she asked questions to understand, gave helpful advice and answered questions for me. She also encouraged me to come back if i have any problems. I highly recommend Big Deluxe Tattoo and Afton for piercings!!

So, ya know how you go into the Dr. And there are nurses who are either really awesome at administering a shot while there are others that are just not as good?WheLL, Jesse is like the piercer that is really f’ing good at his job and you end up being very thankful you were sent to him and not someone else.Look, the guy is super chill. I’m pretty high strung, and just being around the guy is calming. He makes the experience of getting a piercing that you think is going to be excruciatingly painful.. a very quick, easy experience, that is not nearly as bad as you thought it was going to be.He’s good! Like really good and not only is he great at what he does, he’s dangerously handsome!So, go to Big Deluxe! These folks work all day, into the late night, off a street known to get a ton of traffic.Which means they are extremely good at what they do because they do have a ton of experience. Trust that experience! The prices are more than fair and they definitely have the skill.

Went to Big Deluxe Tattoos to get a piercing and my piercer was, Curtis. All I have to say is…. CURTIS IS MY NEW BEST FRIEND!!! He is so cool, so easy to talk to, answers your questions honestly, etc. everything you want in a piercer. I LOVE MY PIERCINGS!! Actually I went twice! Both for my nose. The first time I went I went for a birthday gift to myself. I got my first nose Peircing and Curtis was welcoming, everything was clean and smooth sailing and just great. I was a little nervous, but just how he said “Hi!” Was like dang he is so cool!! I it’s been a year and I spontaneously wanted my double nose Peircing and I called and asked if Curtis was there, they said yes, and when I said I yelled “HELL YEAH!” On the phone I zipped right over to see him. I also asked him questions about nipple piercings and it was not awkward whatsoever. That’s what you want out of a piercer someone who knows what they are doing, open and honest, and super chill!! CURTIS!!! I WILL BE BACK!!

I came to the Big Deluxe a couple days ago, because my friends talked me into getting my septum done. Now I have tattoos and that does not bother me, maybe because I can see what they are doing. Piercings on the other hand stress me out to no end. Already nervous filling out the paperwork I was greeted by Curtis one of the piercers. He was like a big teddy bear. He could tell I was nervous and kept the conversation light and me talking while he got set up. Even telling me having my friend hold my hand during was normal. I cannot tell you how pleased I am. For one it did not hurt which having a needle shoved through a part of your face sounds like it would be the opposite, I didnt even shed a tear. He gave me all the instructions on how to take care of it and told me he was always there if I was ever concerned, he didnt mind at all if I wanted to drop by to get it changed out once it was healed or if I had any questions.I could stand on top of the capital and shout until my voice was gone about how Amazing my experience was. I will never step foot in another Tattoo and Piercing studio, because from the second I walked in I was taken care of and treated with so much respect. Everyone there was amazing, professional and I can tell they Love what the do. If I could give 100 Stars I would.

I’ve gotten four tattoos done at big deluxe and every time I go there I have an amazing experience. Every staff member is extremely helpful and welcoming. I’ve had a different artist every time because I just do walk ins and every time I leave I couldn’t be happier with my tattoo. Every artist has been very nice and has done an incredible job. I recommend big deluxe to all my friends!

Highly Recommend!!! I have had the best experience with Big Deluxe Tattoo. Very cool and friendly atmosphere, amazing artists, and they play good music in the shop as well. I am currently working on my sleeve with Konrad. His work is incredible and I couldnt ask for a better artist. Its a 2 1/2 hour drive for me but let me tell you, its absolutely worth it!

Had the best experience at Big Deluxe Tattoo today! From the warm welcome as soon as we walked in the door until we left we were treated so well! The front desk people were so friendly and our tattoo artist was so professional and talented. The next tattoo is already planned!

They accepted me as a walk-in but I called beforehand for a heads up. They seemed to appreciate that. I wanted an industrial piercing, and Curtis was the one to measure and pierce me. He was very knowledgeable and worked with my odd ear anatomy. Not only that, the piercing was done so quickly I was floored lol. Curtis is definitely an artist of his craft. On top of all that he was so friendly and said to come back in if my weird ear was causing me problems. It was $65 not including tip. Im definitely coming back here again.

I initially called for more information and spoke to Paca who was so sweet, informative and just absolutely amazing.When we came in we again worked with Paca to start with Billy doing our tattoos.Billy was so great. He was very professional, made sure we were all happy with our designs and placement multiple times before even starting. Afterwards he made sure we understood our care instructions clearly.When check out Paca made sure we were happy with everything and let us know we could call if we needed anything at all.10/10 would go back to Big Deluxe just for those two.

I had good hopes because of all the reviews so I went in with a lot of confidence but that was cut short when I got my piercing, the guy who seemed sober was definitely not while piercing me, I havent had a piercing thats hurt to get but this man pierced my face while i was talking and didnt really sanitize :/ charged me $80 for snakebites but the placements off and Im also really good about cleaning and hygiene but not even a day later I wake up to pain and pus. Worst piercing Ive had. That big dude should not be piercing peoples faces.

They did a great job on my ribs, made my eyebrow piercing quick, easy and very informative‐Update, just got another tat from a new guy Luis. He did a great job not too heavy of a hand and super respectful. He doesnt really speak English but he knows what he is doing.

A year ago I had got my septum pierced by an older guy (sadly didn’t get his name) but he did AMAZING! He did it so fast and made me feel comfortable! Yesterday I went in and was wanting to get my septum pierced again (took it out 6 months ago). Afton was my pierced yesterday and she was AMAZING as well!!! When we got into the room I told her how I had my septum pierced already and she suggested tapering it which I had no clue what that was, she successfully did it and made sure I got the jewelry I wanted! It saved me a lot of money where as she could have just not mentioned the taper and made more money from a piercing! I really appreciated her honesty! My septum healed within 5 days, they definitely have the best piercers here and the tattoo artist are amazing as well, i don’t remember the name of the older man who did my nose over a year ago but he was absolutely amazing and so friendly.

I’ve been here several times over the years and always had phenomenal experiences. I was just there to get a Medusa piercing & the piercer; Jesse, is so calm, attentive and nice, making me relax during the process.I’ve been tattooed by Konrad and he is also amazing, and great at showing he cares about the client as much as the tattoo.I love that they offer you drinks when you’re there as well. Honestly some of the sweetest people I ever met, I have gotten a lot of different piercings and 2 tattoos from here. Honestly it’s possible going to be the only place I go for now on. The front counter people are always so helpful with any questions or concerns. The piercers are very careful and help you when you need to take a moment before the piercing. The tattoo artist are really caring and helpful when it comes to the process of the place, price, and how to take care of it. Im a regular at the studio. As I was checking out at my last appointment there was a difficult customer at the counter. She was acting a bit irrational & making a scene. I’ve been getting tattoos at Big Deluxe for over 15 years. I had both of my half sleeves done there and the artists make you feel comfortable and I loved designing my pieces with the artists. As a woman, they always made me feel right at home and that my ideas were welcomed by the artist. Every time I’ve gone in since, all of the artists ask me about my art, even though they are now at least 5 years old. Piercing is also done very professionally! Last summer, I had Curtis pierce my friend who was visiting in town. He was very professional and did an excellent job. He walked her through the needed for after care. When we left my friend said she was relieved and excited for her new piercings and was glad we specifically went there and had Curtis do the work. To this day, she tells me how much she loves her piercings and wants to come back for more work! There’s some great artists working here! These guys (and ladies) are amazing and I couldn’t recommend a better place to feel welcomed, supported, and most of all, the level of professionalism is top notch. I’m scheduling my next piece now and know I’ll be in a safe and friendly environment. Love this shop!

I’ve come here a lot for impulse tattoos/piercings and consistently have such a good experience. I came in last minute for a double high nostril piercing and was really nervous. However, I got pierced by DJ and he made it such a smooth experience. He had attention to detail, helped lighten the mood so I wasn’t too nervous, and really knew what he was doing. Highly recommend

I had a terrible experience at Big Deluxe Tattoo.I came in looking for my nose pierced and my doubles pierced. The piercing artist I worked with is named Curtis. I had an idea of where I thought I wanted my nose pierced, and instead of providing suggestions or talking through what it would look like with me, he pierced my nose where I suggested and afterwards seemed bothered with me that I was dissatisfied and expressed that he should have readjusted because he knows better as the professional.I am grateful he felt comfortable re-piercing, but then he “pierced my doubles” and ended up piercing my first holes (which were not closed in the slightest) … how this happened I still do not understand. Once I pointed that out - that he had pierced through already existing holes - he attempted to pierce my doubles again but offered no reparations for the mistakes.I would not recommend people come here.The people in the front lacked in terms of friendliness and were not as helpful as would be expected.LATER ADDITION: The owner of Big Deluxe Tattoo reached out to me a couple of months after this horrible experience. She contacted the store and made it so I was able to get all of my piercings redone for free if I wanted. She made certain I felt comfortable with my piercing artist options and remedied what she could. When I came back in my experience was quite different than the first time around. Would I still recommend this place? 2 - 3 out of 5 due to the efforts the owner made to make things right for me.

I got my rook pierced here about a year ago. Went back in to get my jewelry on the same piercing fixed and they were so awesome. I was in and out so quick. Curtis was super friendly and did a great job! I always feel really comfortable coming in here and will definitely be coming back!

They were amazing!! we called around 9:30pm to see their availability for walk ins, and when we got there they were efficient and accommodating. they had our paperwork printed and made sure we understood how their services work. the whole team team worked together and around each other so well and honestly handled every situation and customer with a good attitude. the line-work on both mine and my friends tattoo is gorgeous, and the artist did great positioning on the placement!! our tattoos are well done and im super grateful for the staff tonight!! will definitely be returning

I came in for a nose piercing and was brought in quickly. Afton did my piercing and was very nice and professional. I am not a big fan of needles but she made me feel very comfortable. Will be coming back for the next piercings I want.

I have to admit the $100 minimum is a little high. I got just a piercing done. And it would have only been half of what I paid if I would have waited. But it was a late spur of the moment thing. However I think the staff were very helpful. I was explained what to expect from the piercing and the results that could happen. He was very clean, so I didnt worry about infection so much. Travis is the bomb!! 10 out of my 13 tattoos are from him. He doesn’t just meet expectations, he exceeds them! Every design I’ve come to him with, he has made them ten times better. I don’t plan to see anyone else as I finish my second sleeve or thereafter. Big deluxe as a company is very professional, artists are friendly and fun to chat with, they don’t rip off, their shop minimum is low (lower than I think it should be for the quality they provide). Shop is clean and they take their work seriously. I recommend big deluxe and specifically Travis to anyone who compliments my ink!

This was an amazing experience! I’m visiting from Canada, noticed the place across the street from where I was walking and thought I’d check it out. Even before stepping inside, the reviews said it all - I needed to visit this place. I inquired about a walk in for fine line tattoo on my bicep, Jackson did the final tattoo. The front staff was super friendly and efficient with asking the artists if they had time, quoting a price, and getting me in on a Saturday evening. The entire experience was an hour.

YOU’RE GOING TO WANT TO READ THIS. I literally don’t understand how this place has so many good reviews. My friend got a tattoo from here and it bubbled up and lost color, causing her to go to a different tattoo shop to get it redone. Months after that, her and I went to go get 2 ear piercings each. When we got in the room, the guy who pierced our ears didn’t give us any jewelry choices to choose from and gave us some ugly ahh piercings to be stuck with for the next couple of months. Even when we asked he told us no. Then, when he pierced one of my piercings it came out COMPLETELY slanted, causing it to be almost impossible to heal. (I am going to need to take it out and re-peirce my ear, or seek professional help to fix it) it was supposed to be healed 3 months ago if pierced properly. The same thing happened with my friends piercings. On top of all this, we felt extremely rushed and it was overall just an unprofessional experience. I will not be coming back or recommending Big Deluxe to anybody.

Just went for a walk-in nostril piercing and had an excellent experience with DJ, one of their piercers! I wanted to match an existing nose ring on the opposite side, and DJ took the time and care to really line up the spot to place the new piercing perfectly. He gave great advice, was super friendly and professional, and made me feel totally comfortable throughout the process. This was my first time there, but Ill be going back in the future. I got a few piercings, and Afton did them, and she was awesome. Everyone I interacted with was very nice and friendly.

The receptionists said walk-ins available and said we’ll have to wait and a three people were ahead of me so we waited and we were told we would be called inside or by phone to come in once next she completely skipped us took in two to four new walking before us after the first few of waiting period and had us wait outside and let the new signed up walk-ins sit inside and didn’t call us in and let them be seen. The piercer was fantastic very friendly and funny his name was Jessie, he was very quick and smooth with his technique he’s great.

I got a tattoo from Jackson a couple months ago and the level of professionalism and care taken by the staff was incredible. It was my first one and they made me feel at home and completely comfortable. They even followed up several times after getting the tattoo to make sure everything was healing alright. Great people at a great shop doing great work. Would recommend.

Total rip-off! I received nothing in return for the $100 non-refundable deposit I paid to work with Sam Chaparro in July 2023. I sent reference photos and asked if he could draw what I was looking for. He told me he could. He did not provide any artwork designs before the appt, other than a cartoon filter of a photo. On the day of the appt, he was over 30 mins late. At the 30 min mark into the session, I was still sitting in the lobby and he was working on artwork in the back - but he had nothing to show me. Then he tells me he can only do realism work from Xerox copy and I needed to bring the artwork. I received nothing in exchange for my deposit except the inconveniences of messaging him a lot, driving to the studio twice and sitting, waiting for an hour. I had altered my plans for the weekend around this. So disappointed.

I was a walk-in for a septum piercing, and when i was called in Curtis did amazing and got it done so fast and was so gentle! He talked me through the piercing because i was nervous and he was so kind & soft even with my slight anxiety in the room! I was in and out within 10 mins tops, he was amazing & the whole staff was very friendly! Only tip to people making same - day appointments, make sure you write the correct phone number down and it is legible 😹 awesome service & Curtis, thank you! youre amazing! ✨🤍

Would not recommend this place. My friends have gotten tattoos here before so when I finally decided it was time for my first tattoo this is where they took me. All I wanted was a very simple Ace of clubs symbol on my wrist. The guy who did it, didnt ask what size I wanted it and when I asked for it to be smaller, had a bit of a melt down about it. It shrunk it a tiny bit and then refused to go any smaller. But what really frustrated me was instead of telling me anything about after care and how to make sure it heals properly, he gave me a lecture about why I shouldnt have gotten a COVID vaccine. Super professional. Definitely will never go back and advise all my friends to avoid this place. I have heard from others about similar experiences.

I’ve received 2 tattoos from different artists (Konrad and Jordan) and they’re by far my favorite tattoos. Konrad created a custom half sleeve for me and Jordan was a walk-in. Each experience went above and beyond with the stenciling process and they both ensured i was comfortable and happy. Both artists were patient, supportive, and easy to work with and my tattoos have no blow outs or scarification. All of the artists here seem to be incredibly close and are friendly as all hell. I definitely trust this shop more than I trust most people.

A little bummed at how crooked and very different each of my nipples healed. Theyre pointing different directions and one is much further up on my areola rather than the one on my actual nipple. REALLY wish I would have gone somewhere else.

Sam is my go to artist at Big Deluxe. Not only is he an amazing artist, hes also an awesome person. Steve is just as amazing, both always doing amazing work. Doing another review 😂Came here and got my first tattoo back in February and that was suppose to be my only tattoo but i became addicted and have been coming back every few weeks since then with my most recent being this last Tuesday the 29th. Kevin is the artist who has been doing my pieces. He has been super helpful with finding what i wanted and his work has been phenomenal!! I couldnt be more happier with how all of them have turned out. Place is super clean, the staff is amazing always super helpful and calling checking to see how my tattoo is healing, the owners are the friendliest people you will ever meet. Everything about this place is just amazing!! Cant wait for my future tattoo appointments and maybe even get a piercing once I have the guts to 😂

Ive gotten all my piercings and almost all my tattoos done here. The staff are super friendly and the artists are so accommodating, kind, and most of all skilled. Ive come in with exact designs and vague ideas of what I want and everytime I leave more than satisfied. They are very up front with their pricing and Ive never felt swindled or misled. This was my first real peircing that Ive gotten so I wasnt sure what to expect. They were super awesome and have adapted to the new regulations with the virus going around. They were super clean and made sure to clean anything before it passed from person to person. Jackie was the one who pierced me, and she was awesome. She was super professional and walked me through everything that she was doing and it was really easy to talk to her. I will definitely be going back anytime I want another piercing.

Its okay, the artist that did my tattoo did an excellent job and he was kind and fun to talk too. But the artist that did my fiances tattoo didnt do so well. The outlining is okay, but when he was filling it in it took him like 15 minutes, which would make sense if it were a smaller tattoo, but this one was required a lot of filling in. The whole 3 to 4 inch tattoo took him 30 minutes. After we took off the wrap it was pretty faded and splotchy. There are some good tattoo artists there, just this tattoo that the artist did was for sure rushed.

Spencer was my tattoo artist and he was AMAZING!! I felt totally comfortable and I love his art work. I’m definitely coming back!

Walked in to get a belly button piercing and an industrial piercing today. Friendly and amazing staff! Curtis took such great care of me. Piercings were fast and Curtis made sure I was comfortable. Will definitely be coming back to see him! Highly recommend :)

I went in to get my belly button pierced and Jordan at the front desk was very respectful and thorough of making sure I was of age, I was pleasantly surprised! And Curtis, the kind gentleman who did my piercing, was very respectful and kind about the whole procedure. Overall I was beyond pleased and would happily recommend this shop to others, it is well kept and extremely sanitary! Everyone is super friendly and kind and puts your needs above all else.

Best tattoo parlor I’ve been to. Kevin Begay is my artist and he does great work, although from all the flash designs every artist looks like they do great work! I originally gave it 4 stars due to the parking situation, but after Jackie’s response I realized it is out of their control and not fair to rate them based on that. Although parking is still an issue, don’t let that sway your decision about coming here!

Always 5*! Ive had tattoos and piercings done here Buddha was great with my chest ink and the guy with the long hair that does the piercing was great too! Been going here for 15 years! I need more ink but as they say you get what you pay for and I honestly cant afford anymore right now! Lol thats a good thing because if its cheap your tattoo will be cheap! Make sure you tip after being pierced or tatted I always tip $10 a piercing and $20to$50 a tattoo depending on size!(no I dont work here or have any affiliates that do! Hands down the best tattoo studio in Salt Lake and the only studio I recommend to people. Ive been getting tattooed by Rich and recently Konrad for 25+ years. The studio is always super clean and the staff is always polite and professional. Hell, I trust the staff at Big Deluxe enough that I brought my niece here to get her ears pierced for the first time.If you want the absolute best tattoo and piercing experience in Salt Lake, go to Big Deluxe! If youre just looking for the cheapest place you can find then come to my house and Ill happily pierce you with a rusty nail and a hammer for ten bucks! :) Quality cost money.

Brought our kid in to get a helix piercing. The piercer - Afton was amazing. She totally put our kid at ease and was so careful and great. We recommend her to anyone!

I recently had my rook, helix, and flat piercing all done by Afton and she was great! She is super friendly and helped me style my ear piercings in the way I wanted. The piercings were quick and painless, I highly recommend her!

The one front desk guy is a bit of a jackass and literally the most unhelpful person I’ve ever come in contact with, but Hailey was AMAZING. She did two tattoos for me and the line work is amazing, she was so sweet, and so attentive to my level of comfort the entire time. I will go back, solely for her.

Got 3 piercings with Jessie. Walked in and got helped within 30minutes. Lots of foot traffic so I was surprised I was seen quickly, considering how he was the only piercer there that day. Cash is cheaper, paid $130 for 2 helix 1 forward helix. They have an ATM on site that charges $3 but its better than spending more than $30 for cc fees

I go to Big Deluxe for all my piercings. They are always clean, courteous and professional. They also are budget friendly and dont overcharge for products like Koi does.🤢. I have been a customer for a few years and I have been happy and satisfied Everytime. In fact, I plan to return this month for a new piercing. I highly recommend this place.

I got my first tattoo ever done at this shop by Billy. All of the staff is very welcoming and you can tell they enjoy what they do. They were all very respectful and all of their work is absolutely amazing. For my tattoo, I gave Billy a basic idea and he went above and beyond my expectations. Im so in love with my tattoo. This is definitely the place to go if youre in SLC.I also got my nose and Medusa piercings done by Jesse. Hes such a sweet and patient man. None of it was awkward or uncomfortable. Everyone really takes the time to make you feel at home.

Lovely! My tattoo is exactly what I wanted, I felt comfortable with my artist, Joe King. And he was also very knowledgeable, answered all my questions with detail and professionalism. Overall a great experience. The staff was amazing, and prices were fair. Bobby was very patient with my friends who also got tattoos. Travis, the guy who greeted us was very nice, and welcomed us immediately. 10/10 would recommend.

Jesse is a great piercer, and I’ve been wanting to come get some piercings and I’m hoping to get peirced by Jesse because of all the great things I’ve heard about him :)

My FAVORITE shop. I got my nose pierced here a few years ago and have gotten 2 of my tattoos done by Travis. I went in 2018 to get my first bigger tattoo and I was extremely nervous. Travis was so nice and welcoming. He told me I could take as many breaks as I wanted to made me feel comfortable. I went back last year in July and got another big tattoo on my arm. Nervous as can be and almost passing out, Travis laid me down, gave me water and let me take a break. I will definitely be going back when I save up for my next tattoo. HIGHLY RECOMMEND

Really frustrating to find out that the guy who pierced my belly button did it incorrectly. i visited another piercing shop to get a jewelry change and they told me i have a surface piercing. (piercing is on on stomach and not in my belly button) no wonder it took a full year to heal!

Ive never had a bad experience at Big Deluxe. Ive been going there for 2.5 years now and wont go anywhere else. The entire team is incredibly talented and the atmosphere is perfect. I passionately recommend them to all my friends and family members and I go on and on about how much I love specifically Brighton Page as my artist.

Great shop! Wasn’t expecting them to be so nice and so affordable in piercings. Was there to get my navel done and since I had a hole already they just charged me for reopening the hole. It was awesome.

I had scheduled a consultation with Cameron about 3 months in advance. I’ve had this idea of a colored full sleeve for 5 years, Cameron told me my ideas would not work as a colored tattoo so we started going towards a black and grey. His deposit is only 100$ and i put down $300 that i had been saving for the tattoo. I was told the tat would be 120 per hour at 4-5 sessions(Full Sleeve) He ended up throwing an idea together on his tablet that i didn’t vibe with so i gave more ideas. His second idea still was just very basic and plain, something i could’ve thrown together in 10 minutes. He ended up getting frustrated with me that i didn’t like his design but it was nothing close to what i was wanting. He then said he could give half my deposit back and i could go somewhere else and gives me a 50$ bill. I reminded him i dropped 300$ for a deposit so he gave me 150$ back. This means Cameron took 150$ for throwing 2 designs together on his tablet which he said doesn’t take long at all. I then emailed him more specific details of the tattoo i want and have been ignored. This was an extremely horrible second tattoo experience. Cameron obviously just does cartoon tattoos and can’t think beyond his tablets predetermined designs and patterns. Will never recommend this place.

I am heavily tattooed, been to many different shops and dealt with many different artists and Big Deluxe is, by far, one of the absolute best. Jackie is thorough and prompt with all my scheduling needs, all the artists are top notch and the staff has been nothing but helpful and professional. The amount of care and attention i get at Big Deluxe is really second to none. I could not be happier and will (and have) recommended them to anyone looking for a quality piece that youll be proud to have for the rest of your life.

A man named Kurtis, who I cant find on the website, pierced me yesterday, and it was the best tattoo/piercing experience Ive ever had. He was quick, kind, and considerate of pronouns. He had two of us in and out in 15 minutes (septum and double ear piercing). I cannot recommend him more.

Cameron here took amazing care of my wife and I. He gave us exactly what we wanted. Great attention to detail, size and layout of our tattoos. We got matching watercolor yin yangs. He had a great rate and excellent tattooing ability. I would definitely recommend him for any if your tattoo needs. The other staff were friendly and helped us out any way they could.

Came here for a walk in piercing and to have someone look at an issue I had with a previous piercing from another shop. I had such a great experience! My piercing from Curtis is really great and went very smoothly. He also helped me out with my other piercing and explained everything very clearly. Really appreciate his help!

This place is not only amazing, it is the best place I have gone to, for me being deaf, they do amazing job, they know who I am and they definitely help me make sure I understand what they are saying and what is gonna happen. They communicate with me to see how I am doing and if I need anything else before, during or after. Travis, Joe king, Buddha and everyone who works there are the best people and they are just the people you wanna get tattoos from. If I would give more stars I would. I will keep coming here for tattoos. They are amazing. Especially Travis and joe and Buddha.

Best. Tattoo shop. In SLC. PERIOD!Never had a bad experience, everyone there is extremely helpful, and very nice. Very customer service oriented (unlike most tattoo shops. Lets be honest, its true). My artist, who was relatively fresh out of apprenticeship, did an AMAZING job on a Jason mask on my arm. And a HUGE shout-out to Curtis, the piercer. This guy is employee of the lifetime. Nicest guy ever, very helpful, and I have gotten quite a few piercings done from him, and he is VERY good at what he does. Overall, best tattoo shop in Salt lake. Oh! When my car battery died out front of the shop where I parked, someone from the shop was out in 5 mins with jumper cables to help me out.Would recommend to anyone, for any tattoo/piercings. Extremely satisfied customer!!!

My man Travis does some incredible work the way he is able to take an idea and transpose it in his own style into incredible artwork is very impressive. Hes turned two memorial pieces into things of beauty that I couldnt even dream of thinking up. These artists here are very talented. Its my shop, its my place. Very pleased and would 10/10 recommend.

Went and got my nostril pierced here. The staff was very friendly, and I got in really fast for it being a walk-in place. I don’t remember my piercer’s name, but he was really great. He did an amazing job. I would definitely recommend this place for any body piercings and tattoos.

I just got my septum pierced by Afton and she did an AMAZING job. Kind, gentle, and very efficient! She is a new piercer so her mentor was present as well and he was also very kind and professional. Highly recommend!

Loved Big Deluxe Tattoo!We were Sunday afternoon walk-ins and everyone we encountered was great, kind, knowledgeable, and all around fun people.I wanted my first elbow tattoo and, me being a small, blonde, young lady, I was expecting the artist to try and talk me out of it (like what normally happens at another place I go) but I was pleasantly surprised.After setting a walk-in appointment for a couple hours later:Travis had my tattoo design ready when I arrived and his station was set up super quickly. He did an incredible job with my rose elbow tattoo - it definitely hurt - but I didnt feel judged by anyone and felt totally at ease. It was a really phenomenal experience, especially getting a tattoo in such a painful spot.I would not hesitate to recommend Big Deluxe Tattoo to anyone!

Curtis was AWESOME!!! I have a artist that I have gone to for years for all my piercings, however Sat when he did my Daith i had a bad reaction. He however went out of town so I could not go see him. I came into the shop to have it removed and Curtis was great, didnt make me feel bad that I did not get done there and gave me advice for future piercings. I will be going here for my next one. (not that I dont like mine, he has said himself he does more tattoos anymore.) THANKS CURTIS!!!!

Jesse did 6 piercings for me after I made a walk in appt at maybe 9-10pm (which is so late to be working so thank you guys for having amazing hours) he answered all of my questions super great! Very timely, but still super personable and honest with his suggestions and info. My piercings are healing up pretty well and I’m super happy with them. Very good price, too. Thank you guys 😊

Tonight was my second time going to this shop and getting a new tattoo done the same day. Very well priced and it was the same tattoo artist who did my first tattoo. He also did 2 free touch ups in the same session! (Very rare) and he added another small design to one of my current tattoos free of charge! I love these guys and Buddah is the best!!! My go- to man for sure! And I gladly gave him a large tip!

Collier did an amazing job on my tattoo, I got a centipede done by him. He was really professional about editing aspects I wanted done differently. We got the stencil on first try and he got started. He was quick and efficient with his time, and we were done within 3 hours.

By far one of the friendliest shops I’ve ever been in. Brighton is the man. I gave him three different styles. And he rocked every single one of them for an amazing price. Ive gotten tattoos and piercings here! Their piercer Jessie is THE BEST! Hes so good at helping you feel good and not nervous, hes professional, and so fast! I got my tattoo from Jaxon and he was AMAZING as well! He did my both my boyfriend and me the same day and was great at helping me with my nervousness! Their service is amazing and their front desk people are so helpful! I love BD!

It has taken me years to finally commit to a tattoo. I knew I wanted one, but the design just wasnt something that was easy for me to settle on. I knew Travis through the horse world and as we got to know each other, I knew that I could trust him to help me decide on a design. I had a few elements that I wanted included, but I left the creativity up to him. I went from having zero visible tattoos to a half back panel! I have zero regrets and the beauty of my piece is something that I absolutely treasure.I also wanted to say that as a woman of a certain age and a person of color, there was a bit of trepidation about going into a tattoo shop. I knew I would be spending hours and hours there, and didnt want to be nervous and uncomfortable. Trav and the rest of the staff at Big Deluxe made me feel right at home.When you have a tattoo that warrants a lot of hours in the chair, the staff can kind of forget that you are there and just go about their business. I have had plenty of time to observe the employees and I can honestly say that they dont conduct themselves any differently when a customer is there and when they are not.The staff follows the strictest of hygiene protocols, they are friendly yet professional, and this place knows how to run a business! Absolutely ZERO sketchiness (no matter the location of the work being done), options for privacy, and an absolutely eclectic clientele. Trust me...no matter who you are, you will be welcome at Big Deluxe and you will leave happy!

Dont waste your time!! They either dont have confidence in their abilities or they just dont want/need your money. Waked 20 blocks to book an appointment, because they wouldnt accept one over the phone, and I literally couldnt buy myself a tattoo. As a small business owner, I was literally blown away by the lack of care and concern for customers. Its a lifelong decision...think twice about this place!UPDATE: Appreciate the follow up communication from the owner. She asked for more information and addressed the issue. Hopefully follows up with the employee in question. Bottom line...seems like a good business, but I would not recommend communicating with or hiring the gentleman with the long dreads (hopefully there is not more than one). I asked for his name upon departing, but he ignored the question.

The artist was hella cool, talked to us a lot as my friend was getting inked. The environment was... friendly, I guess? All the artists/employees werent afraid to take cracks at each other, which made the place feel way more comfortable to me. And very importantly, they were incredibly thorough with keeping everything clean. Super dope, definitely going there for my future tattoos and piercings.
