I had been looking at getting a tattoo for a few month from Koi, i finally decided to make an appointment. Alanna was my artist, she did such an amazing job. She did a freehand drawing on my arm to make it perfect size for me and it came out beautiful. She took so much care to get it right. This is definitely my go to place from now on, the whole team treated me like family.

They took us as walk ins and Im so happy we came here and so happy with our tattoos! Carlos was great with my daughter and Alanna gave me exactly what I wanted. Informative and friendly. Great prices and great work. Chill atmosphere. Highly recommend giving them a try!

My son and I decided to get a last minute meaningful matching tattoo before I left town. I called to see if they had openings, and Carlos said come on in! I last minute wanted a tattoo a few years back called the shop and Carlos told me he had availability and to come right down. He did a small tattoo on my rib and to this day it still looks great! The line work was very clean and the tattoo came out exactly how I was wanting. Definitely would recommend him and this shop to anyone!

Carlos took a concept I had (that I struggled to explain) and some sample pictures and turned it into my dream tattoo. He was friendly and respectful. And didnt immediately write me off like the other artist that quoted me outrages prices because they didnt want to do it. He met me where I was at budget wise and did a phenomenal job. Carlos gave me a beautiful female dubia cockroach tattoo on my wrist. The tattoo came out so clean and healed perfectly no touch ups required. He was susceptible to feedback about where to place it and I love my growing tattooed cockroach family.

Ryan is incredible to work with. I am so happy I came across this guy. He was super easy to talk to, and work with. And he did amazing work all around! He likes to take his time and make sure its done right, so youll need to plan a day for it (which isnt necessarilya bad thing), and prices pretty fairly. I would recommend him, and will definitely go back to him for more work in the future. I also loved the shop, the other folks that worked there were very cool and all did great work. Small little hidden treasure. The skulls were his personal design for Gemini, and went out of his comfort zone and did an Originals / Vampire Diaries piece for me. I love them!

Ive gotten three tattoos from Swank, their apprentice, and its for good reason. Her designs are fun and put new touches on old classics. Her style has a distinctly folk-art touch.I dont think Ive ever received more compliments from random strangers than I do for the beautiful geometric mountains she did for me.

I came in with my boyfriend as a walk in we were seated within 20 minutes. Alex and Carlos tattooed us and did such amazing work. Carlos was very kind and enjoyable made me feel very welcome and walked me through everything step by step. Alex did phenomenal work on my boyfriends tattoo. He was a bit quiet but that just goes to show how focused he was on his work. It was very quite and masterful. Carlos worked with me so well to make sure he knew what I wanted. One of the best experiences Ive had at any establishment.

Called Carlos right at 10am, scheduled my tattoo for noon, arrived on time and was out of there quick, with my favorite new addition 🤙🏼

I started a tattoo in Hawaii on vacation. After I got home, I decided I wanted to add more to it. At first, I was not sure exactly what I wanted. Ryan is an amazing tattoo artist. He took my vision and is turning it into reality. I brought him a ferryman tattoo then with just a few ideas from me he is turning it into one badass sleeve. Carlos did my throat tattoo yesterday (01/23) and I can say this was the best tattoo experience I’ve ever had. He knew what he was doing, the colors and line work came out flawlessly. The shop was a chill welcoming vibe, he was super nice and friendly. The girls who worked up front I believe it was Meg and of course Sophia were so sweet and just as friendly. 10/10 would recommend this shop and would recommend Carlos. Will for sure be back!

I set up an appointment for a tattoo back in January for my 18 birthday, and it was a super easy process getting started. Carlos was the one who took care of everything for me and when I came in for my appointment he was very kind and walked me through everything and did an amazing job on my tattoo, I also let his apprentice Meg practice on my arm and she did such an amazing job! The shop owner Carlos is absolutely amazing! I booked a half day session with him and it was the best tattoo experience Ive ever had. He sat with me and designed my whole tattoo in front of me and even fed me lunch since I was there for about 6 hours. Amazing customer service and all around great business to support!

I got my new tattoo from a dude named Alex. He was very nice. I originally went to see Carlos. Carlos doesnt do small tattoos anymore. So he recommended Alex. He was very friendly. I was running late and didnt know their number and so I thought Id have to reschedule. I apologized, thinking now my job was going to be rushed. I got a simple script about 20 words. I thought he was very professional in all steps of the job. He was quick about it and didnt even need to go over it twice. Unlike my last tattoo on my neck where the dude kept going over and over, until I couldnt stand it anymore. But thats another story anotheranother time a different shop review. Lol. But yes, I highly recommend Koi Dragon. Theyre all friendly and prices are not your first born Son.

Arlene took care of me for my first tattoos and i loved every minute of it. Everything from design to cleanliness was thought through and she made sure every part was up to my standards and what i wanted. Carlos was great too and very personable. If youre looking for a shop that will be real and upfront about getting the best, lasting tattoo this is a great place.

I was able to make an appointment same day which is awesome especially with whats going on now. So definite kudos there. They were great to talk with but by the way they claimed they were rated top shop in salt lake the actual work that was done wasnt really up to expectation, its like they were hurrying through it and just doing good enough. They didnt wrap or talk about aftercare for the tattoo, they just sent me on my way. Will not be back unfortunately, gonna need to have a couple lines fixed at another shop instead.

Without having an appointment I received an excellent Job by Sophia and Carlos as well, very patiently Sophia worked with me on the tattoo I was looking to get. Someone else from a different place canceled on me at the last minute and I’m happy because I didn’t have to wait months to get it done.

I have watched Carlos work for a while, he seen me for a consultation the same day of me inquiring if he could do a cover up. He was confident and honest about being able to do it and got a time scheduled. He was very professional, friendly, conversation was great and the whole shop makes you feel right at home. UPDATE: Carlos@Koi Dragon Tattoos continues to exceed my expectations! My tattoo has fully healed and needed a few touch ups. I texted Carlos letting him know because he made sure to tell me that if touch ups were needed he had no problem doing so. I texted to see his availability and he got me in within a few hours same day I texted to finish it up. He is a super fun guy to talk to and everyone in his shop are super chill. Nice relaxing vibe there and will definitely go back to him when Im ready for my next one!From start to finish working with Carlos was the best. He responded quickly to any questions. I am all about the honest review. My tattoo cover up was done by Carlos. I had no idea this place even existed till i saw a Facebook ad. I was a little skeptical, only because i had bad a bad experience with my previous tattoo artist. While messaging Carlos i was put at ease through his polite mannerism and his knowledge of tattooing. I showed him pictures of what i was wanting to have done and he worked with me to make that happen. I was able to go in that same day to get my tattoo done because of a cancellation. I was a little sketched out about the building and frankly was worried for my safety. I live on the other side of town and was not familiar with Murray. when i walked in Carlos, was there to greet me with a warm welcome. Knowing now that my worry would subside. during that tattoo which took up half of my bottom forearm, Carlos made me comfortable by telling me about his family and making jokes with the other artists. I was in awe of her professionalism and his kindness. The tattoo, by my surprise only took 3 hours. I thought i would have taken longer considering i was moving around a lot. I admired that Carlos also was very patient with my and was very understanding of the pain. The Tattoo turned out amazing, granted a few lines could be touched up but , none the less i was elated. I will surely be coming back in the future to get another one by him.

Carlos helped design exactly what i wanted and the finished product was excellent. His personal attention to me as a customer was great and helped me feel comfortable. I made to tip him well afterward. Thanks again Carlos. Ill be back.

We would not recommend it, they made us a color tattoo, so much that I review the color Broke the skin more, I change the color of the original tattoo, the colors were discolored, we are going to meet a month and still does not heal the broken skin, it is not the first tattoo we get, they do not know how to work with colors, or watercolors, they should clarify that to the client instead of doing a bad job. I will have to do it again when the skin is healthy. Ah! And Carlos who worked us had a dirty look, the place too, WE DO NOT RECOMMEND IT.

Carlos did some florals for me. He was incredibly professional and designed a custom piece that incorporated what was already there.I’m super super pleased with my tattoo and will definitely go back!

Dope tattoo shop with some great artists. Gotten work done from Carlos and Alex and had no problems with the tats. They will work with you and will even help make recommendations and subtle changes to help the tattoo look better/ Heal better

I came in a couple weeks ago and got a tattoo from Carlos. I couldnt be more impressed. The business was clean he made sure everything was sanitized and everyone had on a mask. I did a watercolor tattoo and it turned out amazing! Hes fast, efficient, and very detailed. Its almost healed and still vibrant!

Messed up my tattoo bad a few months ago after it was rushed through. First bad review I’ve written about a tattoo shop after they wouldn’t fix it for free. Said “too late now.” I’ve got 20+ and have never had such a bad experience

I just got my first tattoo done here! I absolute loved it. Everybody there was super nice and welcoming. They made it an easy process and let me message them any time asking all my stupid questions. My artist was Sarah and she did so amazing! I’m beyond excited to go back.

UPDATE: Got a coverup done on a 16-year-old tattoo by Carlos. Few red flags throughout the session but I decided to go see it through. The very next day, I knew something was wrong with the tattoo. He advised me to take the second skin off. Over the following days, the tattoo became more inflamed and swollen. I reached out to Carlos again and at this point, he simply stopped responding. After going to the doctor and having lab tests done, I found out I had a staph infection. I was also told by four other artists during consultations to fix the tattoo that he damaged my skin trying to pack in ink to cover the old tattoo. It is been almost two months since I got the tattoo and its finally not painful to the touch. If you have any issues with your tattoo, the artist should be your first point of contact and Carlos totally dropped the ball.

I had Sarah do my first large thigh tattoo and first script tattoo. She just started out a couple of months ago but has come a long way. It shocks me because she has a very detailed hand; she printed what I envisioned for my floral tattoo perfectly. Definitely would recommend!

Really liked this place a lot! I got a small and simple tattoo done by Sarah (swanky.tattoos is her insta, check it out!) and absolutely love it! They are so friendly there and Sarah has some pretty amazing line work. She is also super amazing and messaged me on Instagram after a bit to check and see how it was healing up and how I was doing! I highly recommend going here and getting some work done by Sarah!

I stopped by as a walk in for a small tattoo, Carlos was professional, attentive and listened to details, showed him a photo of what I want and he did it exactly like in the photo. The only reason I gave 4 stars instead of 5 is because they dont take credit card for payments. I was not informed When I called in advance and had to pay the ATM fee which is inside the shop. I felt that was inconvenient but i will definitely go back😊

Nice people, decent environment, but they are pretty pricey. got my first tattoo and was wanting something much smaller than what i got but was told i couldn’t get it smaller. my tattoo healed pretty splotchy which was a little disappointing. was expecting better results. oh well.

Alex was phenomenal. I showed him the tattoo that I wanted and he was able to make it happen. The facility was clean and all members were professional. The team is so genuine and caring. Would definitely recommend.

He drew up what I wanted very quick and made sure it was exactly what I wanted! Super nice and made sure I was okay the whole time considering this was my first tattoo. Very clean and overall it was a great experience! In love with my tattoo will definitely be back.

The artist was really cool and cool to talk to. I had gotten tattoos from him before the first tattoo he did on me was on my chest and the letters where not spaced properly the second tattoo was on my neck and the artist while laying the tattoo down had my head laying to the side so when I stood up and position my head straight forward the tattoo was unsymmetrical and only symmetrical when I tilted my head to the side as it was when the tattoo was layed down. The third and final tattoo I had gotten from the individual was on my fore arm it was a pretty simple drawing but there where moments where I had to point out spots that needed more shading or the lining could have been filled in more I could sense his lack of confidence and i felt like we both just wanted to get the session done and over with and to be fare my skin complexion is pretty dark so I can see how the artist had a tough time with the lining but still this is not the experience one hopes for when walking into a professional tattoo shop the tattoos that I received where not absolutely terrible but they where subpar and i did not feel i received my money’s worth. I’ve seen the artists portfolio and his work is amazing so my only conclusion based off my experience is that the artist Carlos lacks the ability to preform well on dark complected skin so if you have dark complected skin I would not recommend Carlos from Koi Dragon tattoos.

I gave Carlos an image of 3 wolves & flowers and he adjusted the image to something original. I loved how he took his time to ensure the image came out exactly how I wanted it. I Went in for a simple easy tattoo. It was a simple lines for a star I was seated in a fold up chair. I look like I have 3 tiny spiders on my arm. When he first said he was done I was in awe it looked like a 4 year old did it I asked him to lengthen some lines to get the look I wanted but he just made them thicker not longer it looks so bad I’m definitely going to get it fixed at different shop. Save your money go somewhere better. They also have a shop minimum which I understand if the work is good but it’s so bad I paid 80 to have to get it fixed.

I have gotten 2 tattoos plus a touch up ,on a previous tattoo from another artist, from Sarah! She has been so amazing, fast paced, clean and kept everything professional. I will be returning for more tattoos from her. :)

Went here today and got my FIRST tattoo. I lost a baby a few months ago and we planted daisys to remember him. I took a drawing my sister in law drew up for me and Carlos did it the same exact way on my arm. More than happy with what I got done today. Will be back forsure.
