The shop itself was super clean and organized, and had a more welcoming feel than most tattoo shops I’ve been to. I got my work done with Emily (Tea Rex). She was so kind, patient, and helpful throughout the whole process from creating the design, to scheduling/rescheduling, to actually getting the work done, she was amazing and provided such a safe space. The line work is suuuper *crisp* and clean, and I truly couldn’t be happier with how this turned out. 1000% the best shop I’ve been to!

This place has a very good vibe, definitely recommend. Salty Kitten provided us with an inspirational environment. Perfect for making sure that we got our tattoo, right. If you’re nervous about getting a tattoo, the owner was very friendly and walked us through the process to make sure that we were ready to get the right tattoo. He also was a perfectionist in making sure that everything was perfect before starting the tattoo process.

I got a half sleeve done by Emily (tea_rex_tattoos) and my experience was nothing short of amazing! We did two sessions and they were easily the two best experiences I have had at a tattoo shop. The shop is light and welcoming, and the people are amazing. Everyone there was so supportive of each other and it felt like I was hanging out with a family. Emily was amazing throughout the whole process. She was excited about the art (not something I’ve come across with several tattoo artists), and made me feel incredibly comfortable and welcome. I trusted her with free handing the floral design and she exceeded all expectations I could have ever had. I gave her a concept and she brought it to life. I am obsessed with my new tattoo! I can’t wait to book another tattoo with her.

Amazing experience with Will McCoy, the owner of salty kitten. Very unique and amazing designs and the place is very clean and comfortable to have the work done in.They have an array of artists and lots of different options. I would recommend this place to anybody looking to get their first tattoo or their 20th tattoo.

Will, the owner is a great tattoo artist, teacher, and all around good guy. As he did my tattoo he was very professional and kept my comfort in the front of his priorities. His journey to being a shop owner was inspiring to hear and I believe his whole team are some of the best tattoo artists I’ve seen. All with the enthusiasm and creativity to complete pieces of a very wide variety. I can not recommend Salty Kitten enough. I will return!

Amazing! I got my first tattoo ever here this weekend. The shop is clean, LGBTQ+ friendly, full of positive vibes and personality. My tattoo artist was TeaRexTattoos - she did an amazing job. She brought my concept to life perfectly and did a fabulous job on the piece. I plan on coming back for sure.

I couldn’t recommend this shop more. I went for my first time yesterday. Not only did the owner come in on his day off to accommodate us due to a friend coming in to town just for a tattoo, the artists were so incredibly kind, professional, they provided snacks and drinks, and the facility was clean (props to the person who cleans the toilet; I’ve never seen one so pristine). It has such a good vibe. We also had an issue come up with one of my friends who could no longer make it, and Will was super nice and understanding about it and had a genuine concern for our friend. Not to mention, I had a small window in between Allstar games I needed to be at. And he was able to do a killer job on my tattoo with intricate details and still get me to the last Allstar game to watch our team get the win and take home the championship trophy. Thank you thank you THANK YOU Will for such a positive experience. I will absolutely be coming back.

I had a lovely first visit to Salty Kitten today, and was inked by Emily (Tea Rex). She was prepared with a couple sizes of the two designs I sent to her, and was incredibly easy to converse with. As other reviews have mentioned, the studio is really clean and more spacious than one would think, just by looking at the outside. Definitely felt welcomed when I entered and comfortable throughout my session.The price I was quoted was well within my budget, and I was provided a nice after-care kit. And an unexpected perk of visiting was getting to sign the brick wall!I’m shook and so grateful I was able to do a walk-in on a mid-summer Saturday. Thank you for taking such great care of me and see y’all again asap!

I was tattooed by @tea_rex_tattoos and I am obsessed! I instantly felt welcomed and at ease as soon as I walked into the shop. Emily was so gentle and made sure I was never in pain. There are multiple breaks worked into her process, but she makes sure you can take as many breaks as needed. You can tell Emily has put a lot of work into her art and her professional development, as well as the experience of getting a tattoo from her. The shop is queer and neurodivergent friendly. It has one of the best vibes I’ve ever seen from a tattoo shop. The owner, Will, is very friendly and you can tell he cares a lot about his artists. I can’t wait to get my next tattoo from @tea_rex_tattoos!!

Had an appointment with Emily for one of her storybook flash tattoos — the experience was probably the best I’ve had in a tattoo shop. Emily was incredibly friendly and accommodating but, more important, she did incredible work. The detail on my tattoo is amazing! Her pricing was also very fair, which is a lovely bonus.On top of this, the facilities were clean, inviting, and well decorated, and the other staff were just as kind.I’m already dreaming up my next tattoo so I have a reason to come back to Salty Kitten.

Had the pleasure of working with Will and he was exceptional! Not only was he was able to squeeze us in last minute but was so nice, warm, and welcoming. He did a great job on our little tattoos! Emily did my tattoo and shes currently an apprentice! I got a mystery botanical tattoo because I absolutely love her style! She happily worked with me to make sure I was comfortable and happy with the tattoo I had picked out. Shes so kind and the environment is so much fun! HIGHLY recommend!!

I am absolutely in LOVE with my tattoo. I had such an amazing experience here. Emily is so talented. She captured my idea perfectly, in fact, it was better than I could even imagine. I’ve gotten several tattoos from Emily (cowgirlcoloringbook on Instagram) at this point and she is so awesome! Had my first tattoo this last week with Will McCoy, and it was awesome. great first experience. I was nervous, but He made the whole situation super easy and way less stressful. he was quick, and the work was on point. lines were sharp, and shapes were perfect. cannot recommend him enough for any tattoos. It has become a tradition for me to get a tattoo after a meeting... this year was at The Salty Kitten in SLC. The shop came highly recommended from someone who lives in SLC. Tea Rexs (Emily) Insta looked amazing and I didnt know I needed a dinosaur with butterfly wings until I saw her art...Booked via email since she asks for no DM bookings. I gave her a basic idea of a velociraptor with butterfly wings with the dino in grayscale and a pop of color in the wings. She loved the concept and I paid a $50 book fee and I couldnt wait.The shop is amazing with awesome art, plants, and lots of dinosaur themed things. I loved the drawing and it was the perfect size for my leg. Emily has a steady hand and I was in the chair for about an hour and a half. I love it. I cant explain just HOW MUCH I love this tattoo.The prices are super reasonable, the entire shop is clean, well lit, LGBT, and neurodivergent friendly. I would literally come back to SLC for another tattoo from her.

I got my first tattoo at Salty Kitten, and it was a phenomenal experience. Jayda (@jaydastarrtattoos) was my artist, and I couldn’t be more pleased. It was easy to book, and she accommodated my partner and I getting our tattoos in the same session. I had a design in mind, and Jayda’s suggestions on size and placement made for an even better end result than I had envisioned. She’s a real artist!I wasn’t sure what to expect, being my first time, and she was so helpful in explaining everything and provided detailed instructions on aftercare. She made it an amazing and comfortable experience, and we really enjoyed chatting with her while she worked. The overall vibe of the shop was really chill and welcoming, and the other artists we interacted with were so cool as well. Highly recommend!

Emily Friend (Cowgirl Coloringbook) is amazing! I got two pieces from her today and she was kind and patient, letting me take as many breaks as I needed to and constantly checking in. This is a safe place for anyone in the LGBT+ community. You get to sign your name on the brick wall after you get tattooed. She was kind, patient, and communicative with me through the whole process and made me feel super comfortable. I absolutely adore the tattoo she did for me; it was exactly what I had in mind. Salty Kitten has a warm, welcoming vibe that Emily also exudes. I am booked for a larger piece with her and am so stoked for it! Highly recommend both Emily and the shop.

Drove 20 min to my apt and the artist had someone else in her chair, stencil wasn’t even on yet. I waited 10 min then she told me it would be another 30min before she could see me…. She could have sent a courtesy text letting me know to show up later & that would have been fine. Instead she expected me to wait 40 minutes for an appointment I scheduled weeks ago. I walked out, thanks for wasting my time.

Im visiting SLC for work, and when browsing on google maps to see what was nearby I saw Salty Kitten Tattoo and knew immediately I needed to check it out. I stopped in to see if they had tees or other merch because Im a crazy cat lady and the name really called to me. I doubted Id be able to get an appointment on such short notice but the friendly guy working the desk (who turned out to be Will, the owner) squeezed me in the following day! He was very professional, efficient and clean and sent me on my way with extra supplies since Im at a hotel for another couple of days. I absolutely love the ghost kitten he gave me

I had an appointment with Emily (Tea_rex_tattoos on instagram) and she was seriously one of the best tattoo artists I have met. She really cares about her clients and makes sure they are well informed what’s going to happen and when. She even has a little snack shelf for her clients. The tattoo itself was incredibly well done. She’s very friendly and the shop itself is really comfortable and clean. If I ever need another tattoo I know where I’m going :)

I had such an amazing experience at salty kitten tattoo! I saw Emily (cowgirl coloring book), and it was by far the best experience from beginning to end! Tripped on a speed bump in a parking lot out back and the amazing people at this fine establishment were SO nice when I asked them for a bandaid. They brought me wipes and sent me off with extra bandaids. I got a look at some of their amazing work too, and it is beautiful!! Salty Kitten Tattoo shop is adorable, clean, bright and happy. Some tattoo shops can feel intimidating (especially as a woman), but I felt totally safe and welcomed here. The whole team is lovely and are all very talented artists.I’ve gone to Will not knowing what I wanted, knowing exactly what I wanted, and having a vague idea of what I wanted, and he has blown me away every single time.I wouldn’t recommend anywhere else!

I went in for a St Patricks Day flash from Emily Friend and she did a phenomenal job ! She was supportive, kind, and most of all flexible with my design choice. She made me feel comfortable during the booking process and during my appointment and it was overall a great experience! I was so nervous because I had been with the same artist for a few years, but I was not disappointed at all with the experience I had at Salty Kitten Tattoo Co. Will is a great guy and has been easy to work with for my design i wanted. Ended up doing a great job with what he came up with, for the design for my back and has been going smoothly and fantastic. This shop is amazing, and I will be recommending them to everyone I know! The atmosphere is very clean, comfortable, and inviting, and all of the artists are so nice. You know how other tattoo shops can feel intimidating and a little pretentious? Salty Kitten is the opposite. You can tell these guys love their work, and love to share their knowledge with you so that you have the best tattoo experience. I got a tattoo done on my sternum/underbust, which is a notoriously painful area, and Will made sure that I felt safe and comfortable the whole time, and was incredibly gentle while tattooing me. He made getting my chest tattooed a breeze, and Ill be going back to him for all my future tattoo needs. Already looking forward to my next visit to Salty Kitten Tattoo!

I got a tattoo from Emily at the salty kitten tattoo (@cowgirlcoloringbook on insta) and it was such a wonderful experience!! The shop and the artists are all so welcoming and they have made a great environment tattoo shop; you can definitely tell they prioritize their clients. I was met with big smiles from all the artists and it was overall very welcoming. Emily was so so sweet and she made getting tattooed for 6 hours, SO EASY!! Emily truly is great, along with all the other artists in the shop as well. While Emily was tattooing me, the other artists came to check it out see how it was going and they were all so supportive and sweet; even the clients of the artists too. We were all showing off our tattooes to each other, and the artists showing off their at the same time and everyone was hyping each other up and it was so cute and wholesome. Emily was always asking how I was doing and i’m a little twitchy and she handled it SO well!! This shop truly made me feel at home. I will definitely be back for lots more tattoos. Love this shop! Will, the owner, is awesome, the ladies that work there are awesome! Will was very accommodating with our tattoo ideas. Me and my girlfriend came in for our appointment and he was able to do 3 separate, although small, tattoos in quite a short time. Love the atmosphere at the shop and cant wait to come back!!

What can I say about Salty Kitten Tattoo Co besides WOW!!! The shop is amazing. Beautiful all the way through. The colors on the walls are fun and so relaxing. I had a great experience! My artist was Will, the owner (exzaybache on IG) and he did an amazing job. I have very fine lettering and it came out so clean and clear. This was also my first tattoo and while it wasnt a long one, Will made sure to check in with me and encouraged me to take breaks if needed. I felt really taken care of and comfortable.This place was also a great environment and all very chill. Theyre queer friendly as well which was very comforting as a trans person

Went to Will back in May (Im a huge procrastinator, so just now getting around to leaving a review) to either cover up an existing tattoo I didnt love or to work around it and try to improve it without completely covering it up. He ended up working around the existing tat and making it 100 times better than the original. If I had known Will prior to getting the original tat, I sure as Hell would have gone to him because I know I wouldve been happy in the first place and wouldnt have had to have anything changed. This was my 2nd tattoo from Will and not only is he super talented and creative, but also the sweetest guy. He runs a great shop and I will continue going to him for future tat work.

The shop was super clean. Will and all the employees were very friendly. I will never go anywhere else now for a tattoo. I love that Will helped me cover some scars. Now I no longer have to look at the mistake that I created now I see beautiful art! I was very scared and worried that my tattoo would be painful because it was going over scars. Will made me feel very comfortable and confident that everything would be ok.

Awesome tattoo shop, got my first tattoo and all went smooth, The owner actually took care of me and did a great job

Emily is not only such a talented artist but also the sweetest, most genuine human you’ll ever meet! She makes you so comfortable, treats you like a friend and creates the most beautiful pieces! I will continue to come back because she’s just plain amazing! Also this space is so so cool and everyone is so kind!

Went in yesterday and had Jayda (@jaydastarrtattoos) do a Gary the snail on my thigh. She was incredible and the tattoo is absolutely perfect. Shop had a phenomenal atmosphere and great and friendly staff. Loved getting work done there and will defiantly be back!

Will is a great tattooist. Not just for the talent, but all-around good guy. Floral tattoo turned out great thanks to his input and ideas. He tattooed me in November... so awesome, I came all the way from Kansas for another. No regrets.

If you havent found your tattoo home yet, please dont go anywhere else. A group of friends and I decided we wanted tattoos on a whim and posted on the FB page to see if anyone had openings. Within an hour, Jayda reached out letting us know she could get all 4 of us in. As soon as we walked through the door they had us laughing. Will, Tea, and Jayda. We got to talk to them for a good chunk of time and it was like we had known them for decades! When we started tattooing with Jayda the conversation never dropped once. Any topic we through at her, she kept it going and gave hilarious imput. Its seriously one of the best tattoo experiences I have ever had!The shop is so well put together and everyone we met was so amazing. We didnt get a chance to meet Emily, but based off of all this, and her fun station set up, I bet she is just as wonderful!You cant go wrong with a shop like this.
