Lucid Illusions Tattoo

I’ve known Mary for years, even beyond her time as an apprentice with IllusionsCal tattoo. When she started her own shop, I couldn’t have been more thrilled for her! I have 3 tattoos done by her, (I have 7 total) and I get complimented DAILY for how beautiful they are. One of them is 3 years old, but it still looks like it’s freshly done. Tattoo #4 from Mary is on its way in the coming months and I’m so excited. I’m very picky in my artists, which is why only 3 other people have ever touched my skin with a tattoo needle. And Mary is the most delicate, intricate, talented artist who truly enjoys her art and works to improve daily.

I always have a wonderful experience with Mary - I guess that’s why she’s done 4 of my tattoos and fixed up 1 (previous work done by another artist). In addition, I always highly recommend her to all of my friends and families.She’s usually booked out for 3-5 months, but trust me, she is worth the wait. Mary is super detailed and will take all of your ideas to make them into a reality.Also, a special shoutout to her shop assistant, aka Puff, the moral support when you’re getting tatted.

Just got my first tattoos 3 days ago. I got a beautiful butterfly on top of my right foot & a hummingbird with flowers under my collar bone. These are in memories of my mom & dad. Needless to say they are meaningful to me & how important it was to have someone I can trust. I was a little nervous because of all the advice I was getting regarding the pain especially on my foot.I’m so glad I chose Lucid Illusions because I got the best …. Mary! She did an absolute phenomenal job. She listened carefully to my request in design & colors. The pain was honestly worth it! It really didn’t hurt as bad as I thought & she didn’t make me feel nervous. Watching a show on Netflix & talking to each other helped me occupy my mind off any pain.My daughter had her tattoo done by Mary also & is returning for another.I would definitely recommend this place & Mary to anyone who really wants a beautiful tattoo. The place is very clean & you must sanitize your hands & wear a mask. The precautions are appreciated especially during this time. Prices are very reasonable & a comfortable atmosphere.Thank You Mary for an awesome job!

I’ve been going to Mary since 2016 and every single time she has come up with beautiful pieces for me. I’m constantly getting compliments for each of my tattoos by her. Incredibly talented with such a sweet personality and always so fun to hang out with.

I had an awesome experience getting a tattoo at Lucid Illusions! Mary very quickly understood what I was going for with a reference design. Her sketch and measurements were perfect. She also asked me for plenty of feedback and advice.On the day of the tattoo, she put on a movie which made the time pass like it was nothing. The conversation was very pleasant, and the result was perfect. Very clean work on a relatively intricate design (line work).The shop itself takes COVID-19 protocols seriously, and I felt safe even before I walked into the shop because she already sent me a detailed description of what to expect. Every artist gets their own office so the environment can be tailored to the individual customer.Overall, a very good and welcoming experience. Highly recommended

Highly recommend coming here for all tattoo needs. Mary and Hao’s vibe is super chill and they make you feel so comfortable. I’ve gotten tattoos by both and plan to return for more :)

The is studio is wonderful! Mary was super nice and very helpful. She collaborated with me on an idea and walked me through the process quite nicely. 10/10 would go again! And her watercolor is amazing!

My favorite tattoo artist resides here!!A couple of years ago, after weeks of research, I narrowed my choice of shops down to Illusions Cal. After my first meeting with Viet and seeing his work (in personalized books he had made and on his apprentices) I was sold. He started me off with a full head/cap tattoo. Then he has just completed (last night in fact) w/ a half calf piece.Parking is designated so even though the shop in close to the heart of San Jose you shouldnt run into a problem with the finding a spot.The shop is upstairs and the stairwell offers a nice introduction on your way up to the shop.The atmosphere is professional, as is he - bar none -Prices here are very reasonable - especially for the skin art you walk away with.I would recommend anyone looking to get ink to check out Illusions Cal Tattoo shop - (the last person I recommended is in the process of getting a chest piece from him right now. I Almost like hers better than mine.)Definitely & Rightfully has earned a five star rating --> all around.

I have been looking for an Artist for the longest time. This guy is so underrated and I can’t believe he is not already blown up. I’m confident in time he gonna be booked out years I saw that Viets work was exactly what I wanted to finish my sleeve. Viet was very professional and understanding for what I wanted and gave me his professional advice. I have had one session so Far and the guy will stay until his works get done and takes his time. When it comes down to it he brings in the comfort and family atmosphere to the process. You wont feel like just another client to make money. I suggest to anyone come check out this guy. Honest family man that has great artwork and willing to listen to your vision. Overall a Tattoo is very serious and you want someone that takes his craftsmanship to the highest level If I could give 10 Stars I would. Tips. He is pretty booked ahead So come in Early to get a couple of days. Always in constant communication with you and Its well worth the wait

Amazing tattoo shop! Got a small piece done, very happy with the quality of the piece. Has the best atmosphere out of all the shops I have been to, definitely will be coming back for more :)

Worst experience ever and I never even made it through the front door. Some tough guy working there almost attempted to beat me up for parking my car under 10 min in one of their 3 parking spots. When I pulled out my phone to confirm how long it had been exactly this tough guy was ready to kick my ass. He didnt like to be told that hes wrong about the timing when Im apparently wrong about parking. So tow my car, talk to me, dont threaten me you wanna go cuz?. If I had been considering of getting a tattoo there in the past I will definitely go somewhere else. Worst customer (or potential customer) service, never want to deal with them ever...unless its that douche apologizing to me or the cops get involved cuz tough guy wants to show how nice he really is.

Please DO NOT give this place your one star reviews. You are on the wrong business. The original tattoo place is IN CANADA. do some research before posting reviews online!!!!
