I had the ABSOLUTE pleasure of working with Ross Ferrie. He provided incredible feedback from his clearly long history in the business to make sure I got the exact tattoo I wanted. The idea I had coming in got changed in to something I would have never thought of and I just COULDN’T be happier with the end result!! He was very attentive to what I was looking for and used his extensive knowledge to absolutely perfect it. Very professional, courteous, HONEST, and insightful. It was my first tattoo and I just couldn’t be luckier it was with Ross. By the way, didn’t hurt at all. The rumors are not true! On the deltoid at least.Edit: I had such an amazing experience I came back for a SECOND tattoo!!

What a great shop, super established and remarkable artistry! Scotty who owns the shop is such a cool dude, been tattooing for over 35 years. This place has won Silicon Valleys best tattoo shop almost every year.

Scotty was so patient and gave amazing advice for how the small details of the tattoos that I wanted were likely to wear over time if not sized properly. He provided guidance on which sizes would be appropriate for the line styles to prevent blurred lines as the tattoo faded with time. Could not recommend him enough for his expertise and guidance alone, but he was additionally funny, well-humored, and had some great stories!Tattoo came out awesome!!

I’m very happy for the care that the staff at Marks of art took with my tattoo. My artist was Albert. He did an amazing job on my difficult piece. He has a very steady hand and all the lines are super sharp on my tat. Albert made it easy because we had a good conversation during the tattoo session. I’ve gotten a small tattoo here It’s been about a year the tattoo hurts As there is way too much ink in it, it’s been like this since day one Sensitive looks horrible and I’m stuck with it for life save yourself the embarrassment and don’t go here

This was my first tattoo. I was so nervous but it did not hurt bad at all. My artist was great! I love this tattoo it’s so awesome! Better than the picture I showed them to be perfectly honest. It’s so sick, I’ll definitely be coming back.

I had a small tattoo done and I am disappointed. Sloppy, uneven lines.I had high expectations after reading the reviews and lots of confident votes. I will go somewhere else to get it touched up, because I was told it looked good and not really possible to correct (!!!???!!!)My girlfriend went to Sacred Oath nearby and her tattoo looks great. Their team was friendly, inviting and engaging. Wish I had gone there initially...oh well....

Great place for all your tattoo needs, they are open late (11pm) they take walk ins but still have artists highly in demand that you need to make appointments to see. The girl there on Fridays (Emma) is very helpful and has great customer service.

I havent had any tattoos done for awhile by Marks of art.About 10 years ago I had 9 tattoos done in 1 year.The colors are still brilliant and art work is awsome.Scotty the owner is the nicest tattoo artist youll ever meet.

Great place to get tattooed. Everyone there preforms their job well. I suggest this place if youre in San Jose or Campbell and youre looking for Ink.

This is the best tattoo place by far. The staff is very friendly and welcoming. This peice was done by Scotty, who owns the shop and has been tattooing for over 35+ years and knows how to get your mind of any kind of pain that you might feel. Hes got a lot of great stories to tell and loves to have many different conversations. Marks of art tattoo often gets crowded on weekends and weeknights and can take walk ins ( more often then not ). Parking is extremely limited so my recommendation is parking at a nearby park two blocks away heading toward the lucky shopping complex to your left. Its about a less then five minute walk. I highly recommend this place for people looking to get their first tattoo as they are extremely patient and humble ( and I mean all of the artists there ). Minimum deposit is $80 for an appt and $150 an hour or by peice size depending on how the artist feels about the peice. Please check it out, the shop and atmosphere is kick add and so is the music.

I went to Marks of Art in the late 1990s to get a Hawaiian themed arm band after competiting in a outrigger long distance race from Catalina Island to Newport Beach!This was our clubs 1st long distance race involving a novice team. Whats the best way to remember it by getting ink!I dont remember his name since it was so long ago but it might be Dave or Mark. Anyway, he had a white photo album of all his art work. It turned out exactly how I imagined it!!!!It took him 2 seatings about 2 1/2 to 3 hrs each time. He was very meticulous and patient. He even asked me to come back several weeks later to do any touch ups if needed.

I got my third butterfly tattoo rom Marks of Art last Wednesday(8 days ago . As always people were friendly & the place was clean,. I showed Chris the 3-dimensional butterfly I wanted, he went back & made the stencil. We discussed arm placement and away we went. Chris’ line work was impeccable as was his coloring & shading. And he was fun to talk with. I love my monarch butterfly so much. Thank you, Chris. Oh, this was my birthday present to myself for my 75th birthday.

Great place & people, clean environment, skilled artists, Ive been there three times & each time they exceeded my expectations with clean artwork & cool conversations, walk ins are usually welcome (if their not too busy), the prices are fair $150.00 per hour with $80.00 minimum, parking can be hit & miss but its worth it for the quality of work!
