Dr. Khan is amazing! I’ve been going here for a few months for hair removal and have been so happy with the results. Not only is the office super clean, scheduling was easy, I was talked through the whole process and made to feel comfortable and on your first visit you get a free goodies bag! The staff are super warm and welcoming and Dr. Khan herself is very knowledgeable and kind as this was my first time I was super nervous. My sister had gotten hair removal on her legs and had horrible scarring so I was afraid to go get it done. I had no scarring saw results right away and the office calls you after your first visit to check in with you and make sure your treatment has no ill effects. I started with hair removal on one area and because of the results I added another area. Highly recommend Dr. Khan at at Washington institute of Dermatology!

Charged $150 to sell me products vs the chemical peel that I had made an appointment for. The office is not very clean with flickering lights in the ceiling. The staff is nice but that’s the only reason I am giving 2 stars.

The treatment is fine but the scheduling was horrible. One time I waited over 1.5 hours until I was seen and another time I had to leave because they hadn’t seen me 45+ minutes after my scheduled appointment time and kept delaying saying it would be another 15 minutes. While the staff was friendly and apologetic it is overall a horrible practice and has terrible customer service - I will not be coming back.

My experience with Dr. khan has been stellar. Ive seen incredible improvements in my hormonal acne is just 3 months. I love Dr. Khans approach to treating hormonal acne - she takes time to gather information about her patients diet, family history with diabetes, exercise, mental health and conditions like PCOS. Highly Recommend!

Dr. Alster was recommended to me by a dear friend. My skin is aging and I wanted someone who was knowledgable to help me look better.....more like myself. I was pretty nervous going in to the appointment. I didnt know what to expect. First of all, I got there a bit early and they actually saw me early. I didnt wait at all. Dr. Alster made me feel completely comfortable right away. She is warm, friendly, smart and professional. Clearly she knows what she is doing and I knew I was really good hands. Her office is a special place. The staff is warm and happy. You can see right away that they love the office and what they do. At the end of my appointment Id forgotten some post procedure instructions and one of the women actually ran down the stairs to catch me before I left! So nice. I feel lucky to have found this practice.

Words cannot express how wonderful Dr Alster is. Of all the doctors I’ve ever been to, her bedside manners exceeded them all. She greeted me with a smile in her eyes (mask was on) and proceeded to explain the procedure in detail and wrapped her spiel by asking me if I had any questions. She exhibited a level of concern & compassion unmatched by any other physician. During my procedure today, she verbalized exactly what she was doing every step of the way. She even went as far as sharing some recent adventures she had been on. I left feeling confident in her knowledge, abilities, and professionalism. What a class act Dr Alster is. For approximately the past five years, I have been experiencing the benefit of Dr. Alsters expertise. I enjoy her lively personality as well as her tremendous skills. The environment of this clinic is pristine, yet efficient and friendly.

Dr. Alster is a world class dermatologist. I recommend her for anyone who can afford the treatments and dermatological products. I have seen significant improvement on my face since my first visit to her; and, she believes less is more in terms of treatment opting for gradual improvement rather than something dramatic which can appear artificial. For those who reject surgery but whose youthful appearance is important one cannot do better than seeing Dr. Alster (assuming she is even accepting new patients). In addition, her staff is excellent -- Megan is wonderful.

I came for improving my dark circles and the hollow under eye areas. I’m pretty happy with the overall experience. Dr Brenda had make the whole treatment painless. She is very professional and experienced and I decided to do other treatments with her.

My experience at the Washington Institute of Dermatology was exceptional to say the least. I recently moved to the DC area and went to see Dr. Alster after reading about her for years and she lived up to every expectation and more. My first visit, she assessed my skin quickly but thoroughly by asking me every question about my skin, including my personal desired results. She then took the time to explain the in-office procedure and afterwards created a reasonable and easy skin care regimen for me to follow at home. All I can say is that the results were exactly what I was looking for (which rarely happens) and my skin looks the best it has ever looked-a subtle but incredible and glowing improvement! After the rave reviews and high recommendation of several close friends I called and scheduled a consultation with Dr Tina Alster. Since I was coming from out of town I hoped, if possible, to begin my treatments during this visit. Dr. Alster’s office manager, Toney, was very helpful in coordinating my trip to optimize my time there as well as suggest hotel accommodations and answer all my questions.The day of my first visit, I was warmly welcomed by her front desk staff and escorted to a beautiful exam room. After Dr Alster examined me and listened to my concerns. She discussed possible treatment options including realistic time frame needed for healing. Finally Dr.Alster gave me her personal recommendations for what she felt would help me best meet my goals and together we made a treatment plan. Since my daughter is getting married in a month we jointed decided on more conservative treatment today with follow up and further treatment in the future if needed. I appreciate her helping me make a short and long term plan to help me reach my goals. Once our plan was made we got started! Hurray! I felt prepared for my procedures with adequate pain control (topical and local numbing was done). My discomfort was minimal (and I do not have a high pain tolerance) and Nikki, her assistant, was right there for support. Before I left her office I was given verbal and written post care instructions and a nice kit of products to use while I was healing. Afterwards I only had mild tenderness and redness, both resolved in a couple days.It has been less than a week since my treatments and so far I feel like I look better. The best part is I look like me, just a littler softer, brighter and more relaxed. I know it will take a little time for the optimal result from these treatments but so far I am thrilled!I am looking forward to my follow up visit continuing my treatments as needed.. Dr Alster and her staff are the best!!

This is a fantastically-run dermatology practice. I was promptly helped and taken in for my service. Dr. Tina Alster was very understanding of the cosmetic issues I wanted to improve, and it was one of the most comfortable procedures Ive ever had. Her assistants took their time answering any questions, and her office conveniently sells any post-procedure products you may need, if you dont already have something at home. I also like how they called the next day (a Saturday!) to make sure everything was ok, and to ask if I had any more questions.

Always a treat - Dr Alster is the best of the best, with the magic touch combining subtle treatments to enhance my skin without that frozen or done plastic face. She is conservative, honest and listens to each patients concerns. I have gone to many dermatologists but never with results like from Dr Alster. Fabulous bedside manner, excellent staff, love all the recommended treatments, injectable and products. she makes aging almost fun! Definitely worth the day of redness and every penny. Her reputation is so so deserved. Her pioneering techniques have made a world of difference. Everything in the office brilliantly clean, spa like and state of the art. Needless to say im thrilled with her - and the whole office!

I feel that I got more benefit from one appointment with Dr. Alster than from several years worth of visits with other doctors. She gave me a comprehensive plan to address my skin issues (brown spots, rosacea) beginning with a skin care routine, and progressing to laser treatments if I wish. I was impressed at the array of tools she has at her disposal and the depth of experience that guides her use of them.

This office is great from start to finish. The front desk staff are welcoming and everything was on time which I appreciated! I had an appointment with Dr. Pellicane at this office a couple months ago and I will definitely be back for a facial and other skin care. She was very thorough and answered all of my questions and skin concerns without my feeling rushed. I even leftt with a facial cleanser that was customized for my skin.

After researching for months and finally deciding on Washington Institute I can not be happier with the decision I made. I saw Dr. Pellicane about a week ago and from the beginning the entire facility is greatly kept while the staff is very kind and helpful. I knew I wanted fillers but was initially going in just for a consultation. Throughout the entire appointment she answered all of my questions, provided very helpful insight of her own, and took all of my desires seriously. I was nervous that a) I was so young for a treatment like this and b) that I had never had anything done to my face before but Dr. Pellicane was very comforting and knowledgeable and made me feel so confident in my decision that I ended up having the procedure done the same day! Throughout the treatment she continued to make sure I was okay, comfortable and not experiencing too much pain. She also made me feel better about making this decision at a younger age than most and just overall helped with my confidence of the entire procedure. I had two nurses assisting her and both were very sweet and helpful. Dr. Pellicane even reached out to me post-treatment just to make sure everything was okay. I highly recommend this center as the quality of care is above the standards I had! I am going back in a week for a followup and possibly more fillers! love this place and Dr. Pellicane!

It has been a privilege to be a patient of Dr. Alster for some time now. Id be remiss if I didnt take a moment to describe my most recent positive experience, which has been so typical of the others. It was a delightful experience even before I was seen by Dr. Alster, from the scheduling of the visit, to the care provided by the medical staff upon my arrival. Dr. Alster was wonderfully professional throughout -- very thorough in collecting recent history and the examination, patient in her explanation of her diagnosis and options in laymans terms, and then her running explanation of every single step of the medical procedure as she went along. Most importantly, all while displaying an upbeat, kind and compassionate style, easing any semblance of angst. And at the end, a significant amount of time was devoted to preventive care going forward, which was so helpful.

I initially met Dr. Tina Alster in 1994, after a surgical mishap. She took great care to repair not only the physical damage, but also the emotional scars. My skincare has been in her trusted hands ever since, even while living in Sacramento. Shes absolutely brilliant.Her practice has grown substantially over the years, and rightly so. Dr. Alster is the premier expert in her field. She also has a knack for hiring exceptionally skilled assistants & staff at WIDLS. Simply the best.Cant sing her praises enough. Shes both personable and professional. Over the years, shes become a significant role model. Such an inspiration. Beautiful inside and out.

Walking into the offices I was a bit nervous as it was my first time to receive Botox treatment. The staff was very welcoming upon walking in and the lobby has everything you need while you wait. Dr. Pellicane put me at ease when she walked into my exam room, talked me through the whole process and was very personable, as well as, the nurse Michael who prepped me. I did not feel a bit of pain and it was over within minutes. VERY pleased with my results and highly recommend.

Dr. Alster has been treating our son for very pronounced, raised keloid/hypertrophic scars on both sides of his face. Six doctors before her were at a loss as how to best respond clinically to the intensity of scarring that he had. Dr. Alster took him on as a patient, as she had treated hundreds of these types of scars over the past 30 years. We are EXTREMELY pleased with the progress that he is making from the expert care and treatment that he is receiving. Others are commenting on how great his skin looks, how the scars are subsiding, less red and raised, and what a difference they are noticing. That speaks volumes. Being a patient of hers has allowed our son to continue on as a teen with confidence and assurance that he is in the VERY BEST hands. We have seen weekly progress and look forward to how amazing his skin will continue to look after treatment is complete. With each appointment, I am overcome with gratitude and unable to even convey the level of thankfulness I feel for Dr. Alster. The depth of skill and knowledge that she has, the professionalism, and the genuine sincerity and concern that she displays is amazing to me. She is truly brilliant. This is the first time in almost three year that I had a bad experience in the institute of dermatologic laser!it is also the first time that I met with Dr Alsten, previously I was a patient of Dr Keaney (he was working in the Istitute of dermatologic laser as well). I was happy to have the opportunity to be treated by her since I read so many wonderful reviews about her . Yes, it is clear that Dr Alster knows her job. At the same time, i felt that was not treated with the usual attention. When I go to the dermatologist for a specific treatment, if he/she suggests a further/different treatment: I need the doctor explains to me well which further treatment works better for me and why, so I will evaluate correctly what is my preference and book a following appointment for the additional treatment... I felt that the doctor was in rush, barely consulted with me on how to proceed differently (compared to what was previously decided by her colleague) and proceeded. At the end, I was not happy because I felt uncomfortable.

When I hit my early 30s I decided to step up my anti-aging game. I absolutely love the results I received from the first visit. What I thought would be a one or two treatment, quickly resulting in me making an appointment every month for my face/neck fix. If you are looking for a great place to stay fresh then I suggest you make an appointment. You cant go wrong!

I had a very horrible experience here and wish I never made the trip!I went in to treat sunburns that I got from vacationing. Dr. Alster took a quick look at me and said I was INNATELY DARK and she could not help me until I was no longer exposing myself to sunlight... in what world does that happen?! She then recommended a face serum, eye cream, and sunscreen powder, which were completely ineffective after using it for over 2 months (I bought the serum and eye cream). This is besides the fact that I was treated like a lab rat with student doctors perusing my face. I am still traumatized by the VERY HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE I had here. It was a total waste of my time and money.

Everything about my visits to Dr. T is wonderful start to finish. The staff is friendly and professional and always takes the edge off. The services deliver natural looking results, unlike most places, and the products actually deliver. I am addicted to the W C Ferulic Dr. Alster prescribed, and will be back for my annual Clear and Brilliant.They are just the best in every way.

This is one of those places where they wont tell you the actual cost of treatment until youve spent $250 to see a doctor for a five-minute consultation, and get you in the door by providing misleading/incorrect information at the time of booking.I called on 10/22/2021 at around 1:00 PM to inquire about laser tattoo removal. When I asked about the cost, the woman who answered the phone explained that they could not give me an exact figure without first seeing the tattoo (understandable), but that sessions started at $350 and went up to $1,000. I figured my 2x3” tattoo would be somewhere on the middle/lower end – this isn’t a sleeve we’re talking about here – and felt okay booking the $250 consultation to determine the actual cost and next steps for removal.So, given that I was under the impression that the high-end cost per session was $1,000, imagine my surprise when the doctor quoted me $950 – $950!!!!!! – per session to remove my TINY 2x3 INCH tattoo. When I expressed my surprise at landing on the upper end of the range I had been quoted over the phone (what do people with sleeves do?), the nurse told me that they shouldn’t have quoted a price at all, and that the cost per session for laser tattoo removal can (and often does) far exceed $1,000. Not sure why I was told that $1,000 is the max if that’s just the starting point for “large” tattoos, but it got me to book the $250 consultation so good for their bottom line, I guess?And on that note: I never, ever would have booked this place and spent the $250 consultation fee if the folks over the phone had been honest about the cost. Its not like their method of determining cost requires the expertise of an MD, either, as the doctor I met with told me it’s based on size of the tattoo, not the complexity. Anyone can make that calculation, so why charge people $250 for a consultation? To get people in the door, maybe?Overall this place just seems super shady and dishonest. In retrospect, I should have tried to get a refund for the consultation fee given that I was misled when initially booking the appointment, but the whole thing was just so off-putting and upsetting that my main focus was to just get out of there ASAP.For those looking for laser tattoo removal in the DC area, check out the Center for Laser Surgery. Best experience at a dermatology office Ive ever had - Ill never go anywhere else. Dr. Pellicane was amazing - she has such a warm disposition, she immediatley made me feel at ease. I never felt like she was trying to rush through her time with me. She thoroughly talked me through everything and was happy to answer all of my questions. She gave me honest feedback and reasonable recommendations for treatments. Ive noticed immediate results and I couldnt be happier.Every member of the staff was friendly and courteous. Im a huge fan of Dr. Kazin and couldnt recommend her more highly. Ive seen her a few times now and as usual, great experience all around. She has delivered consistently excellent, natural looking results each visit. For reference, Ive gone to her for Botox (forehead and frown lines), hyaluronic acid fillers (Perlane and Restylane Lyft used to restore lost volume in cheeks, depending on visit, as well as Restylane L for tear troughs to help w under-eye circles that have developed in the past couple years]), and an IPL photofacial treatment. Im very confident in her abilities - she has never left me with any bruising or issues whatsoever, and Im very happy with my results overall - I look refreshed and feel as though Ive restored a bit of lost youthfulness that has happened since having hit 30. My experience each time has been very simple and almost painless. Would recommend without reservation.

Im going to start with a disclaimer that I am reviewing my sister’s practice. Having said that, I am a long time consumer of all beauty maintenance, cosmetic or medical, so I feel uniquely qualified to give an honest review of services offered at WIDLS.To begin, I come from LA to get treatment at least twice a year at WIDLS. Not only is Dr. Alster at the forefront of all the best and newest techniques to improve your skin and youthful appearance, the prices are far better & more competitive than any other practices in major cities that tout comparable expertise. Many will argue that there is no other with “comparable” expertise- but if you care about your skin, face, appearance- then, no doubt, you will do your research and find this statement to be true.One of the things that I appreciate is the pain management for any individual procedures. I have gone to many other places where not only do they charge you extra for numbing, they dont do it properly or give you enough to abate pain during individual services.I also appreciate the specially formulated products and the post -op explanation/treatment they give you to take home with you. I only use Dr. Alsters BB Cream. I order it before I run out and have it sent to me. It is truly the best - I have tried department store, drugstore and very fancy international brands trying to find something similar but nothing compares to the consistency, coverage and feel of her BB Cream.There are lists to congratulate WIDLS with- but one of the most important things to note is that Dr. Alster is an artist and has a very precise eye and touch incomparable to anyone else. She uses a mixture of products, injectables & laser to give you a very balanced natural look no matter what you are doing. I have never had anything but a fresh relaxed, natural & youthful look when Ive returned home. Ive never felt that something was ever over-done or unnecessary. Ive never gotten any comment besides you look really well-rested, have you been to a spa? after seeing me only days after leaving DC.On a sidenote, the office is spectacularly beautiful and modern. I am extremely impressed by the experience Ive had working with Dr. Kazin. Ive had a couple of stubborn dilated blood vessels around my nose and after a couple of laser treatments with Dr. K they are all but gone. The staff is excellent in their customer care skills and the facility is very elegant, I highly recommend!

I was recommended to see a provider at Dr. Alster’s practice after having a negative experience with two previous providers — one laser treatment that left with me with melasma, and an acne scar filler treatment that left me with cyst-like bumps around the bottom half of my face. I went to see Dr. Kazin at the Chevy Chase office after a nasty insect bite that left a difficult scar condition. I cant say enough good things about her care and professionalism and that of the entire office. Its rare to find a doctor who really spends enough time with you to listen to your concerns and treat you accordingly, but Dr. Kazin is that person. Highly recommended.

This place is the best! Dr. Pellican give great advice and information and is very practical about costs and what results you can expect. The staff is terrific too -- friendly, competent and efficient. And my skin has never looked so good! No inexpensive, but definitely worth it.

I have been receiving Laser treatments for a Nevus of Ota Birthmark on the left side of my face. It is significantly lighter! Am looking forward to it being completely removed, the end is in sight! After the numbing cream is applied, I have not found the treatments to be painful. After the treatment it looks like an acne breakout. Dr. Pelicani has been an awesome Doctor!

I brought someone over here to be checked by a doctor.. what a funny answer that they are asking from a patient to go and find out about your acne. They give another doctors address... they charge $300.00 for only check up, but no solution. And they says you have to check your blood so we can find out what’s going on.. and they don’t accept any insurance...

Everything is in line of expectations or better. ..just the result for the treatment I had yesterday takes 3 to 6 months to show, so I am not in a position to comment on that ,at least not yet....

Although expensive, this place uses treatments that gets results. Everyone is professional and warm, which makes for a great atmosphere.
