I came here for three sessions and will have a follow-up touch up session later. I just got my tattoo finished today and I love it! Rob was my tattoo artist and he was incredible, super nice guy and obviously extremely talented, all the other artists I met during my long sessions were also great and will definitely give you a great tattoo. If you are looking for a reliable tattoo shop I would DEFINITELY consider coming here. I also thought I should mention all clean and orderly the shop is, super great to see how clean everything is. The front desk guy Ben was also lovely, nice and quite helpful. Again I would recommend coming here for a tattoo and definitely consider Rob for your tattoo as well!

15+ tattoos since 2018, and some piercings in 2023.The piercer is incredibly professional. Damn near felt like I was getting prepped for surgery, which was ultimately comforting.The front desk has always been helpful, whether Im the only person walking in or Im in line behind five people.There arent any styles or designs Id be apprehensive about approaching the shop with, but I must say the traditional tattoos I have are S-Tier.

On vacation went to get two small tattoos with hubs for our anniversary. About half inch in size and only two characters ie: 12. Initially was told $120 total which okay it’s a bit much for a 2 minute tattoo but sure $60 pp let’s do it. later as we were waiting and the person who told us the pricing went to the back and came back out he switched it up and said $120 per tattoo. Meaning $240 for two number 12’s in a basic font, half inch. Insanely expensive especially after he initially told us $120 for both not per. We opted out of doing itRevised for the sake of reviewing fairly not just re: pricing.. upon getting to the shop we were greeted by a happy sweet girl in front who we told us the guy next to her would help us. He looked at us and looked back at his screen. We stood in front of him a few minutes as he continued working on his computer without so much acknowledging us. Minutes later he asked how he can help and that’s when the whole pricing switch up happened.

Got my nose pierced by Leo, and it was a great experience! This was my first piercing and I was a nervous wreck, but they talked me through every step and gave thorough aftercare instructions. Highly recommend!

Had the pleasure of getting tattooed by Bobby Sunshine at the Philly Tattoo Arts Festival this past weekend. Very chill and easy to work with. He was able to make a tweak to one of his flash designs and was very meticulous about design placement in relation to my other pieces on the other arm. Linework and shading was spot on and it came out better than I imagined.

I came all the way down from Brooklyn just to get tattoed by John Lupo and do not regret it!! Yes there was a waiting time to book but you can see why with the end result. Detail work is one if the best Ive seen. So worth it! Def recommend it. I had a great experience at Tattoo Paradise. This shop has a great reputation in DC and you can see why as soon as you walk inside. Professional and easy to get along with. Can’t wait to go back 🤟💪

Costa is the man! Friendly and helpful staff here too. They do walk ins and if you’re like me, you may just pick something off the walls. However, i discovered that there are tons more designs to choose from once you go to the back of the shop. Wish I could’ve seen those when I was browsing in the front. Lastly, this shop is the first that offered color on my skin tone and I have many traditional tattoos, so I was pretty happy with that.

I recently had the pleasure of getting tattooed by John Lupo, and I cant recommend him highly enough. From start to finish, my experience was exceptional.John is a true artist. His ability to translate ideas into beautiful, detailed tattoos is unparalleled. He doesnt take walk ins, so definitely make an appointment.

Got my nose pierced here. Super great staff—nice but realistic. Prices are good for the quality of work that is done here. Will be back.

Did a walk in for nipple piercing. Wait was maybe an hour or less. Got in and she did a great job. I liked that she used smaller barbells they don’t seem to get caught as often as my previous piercing did.

I visited this tattoo shop yesterday and by far one of my favorite tattoo shops in the area. The receptionist was so so sweet and kind she gave me a great run down on what to expect. I will be coming back soon.

After reading several of the reviews on here, I felt the need to leave my opinion. I’ve had numerous tattoos from numerous shops all over the country starting in the early 90s till now. I’ve received a couple tattoos from different artists at this shop. They are always professional and do amazing work. I think people forget sometimes that the culture we live in today has everyone walking on eggshells. Tattoo artists have to deal with people who always want to haggle and feel entitled. True artists are rarely extroverted socialites who cater to the whims of the public. Setting boundaries and standards when running a business is just good policy. And the reality is no matter what tattoo shop you go to, You will probably get the same direct but professional treatment as this shop. I have nothing but good things to say and recommend this shop to anyone who asks.

I had the best tattoo experience yesterday!! They took me in as a walk-in with my silly custom ideas. Thank you soo much to Zack!! He was so welcoming and patient, such a cool dude! And big THANK YOU to Sam Layzell!! He totally made my tattoo dreams come true! He is such a kind spirit and we had awesome conversations. The tattoo didn’t hurt and I am soo happy with how it turned out! 10/10 would love to get another tattoo here!! 🪩🌽❤️Ps- I also got my nose pierced here a few months ago! If you’re thinking of getting a piercing— best come here!!

I don’t think I’d go here. They quoted me $400-600 for a neck tattoo of a sword. I have over two dozen tattoos and have been getting ink since I was 18 — no way that’s a reasonable price

I just want to personally thank David C.! He is an amazing artist to work with. I came to him with an idea I’ve had for quite some time and told him to just do his thing and be creative with it. He literally took my idea and ran with it. I am truly amazed at how talented he is. He made my idea come to life in a much better way than I ever expected. He has an eye for detail and is one of the most talented artists I’ve found yet. I will recommend him to anyone and everyone who asks me. He exceeded my expectations and I can’t wait to continue to work with him on my sleeve and other various tattoos I have planned. Below I have attached a couple photos of what we have done so far on my sleeve. :)I am more than thrilled with the design and his creative eye. He is well worth the time and money and he is definitely someone you should choose to work with if you have a tattoo you are needing a great artist for.

Ive gotten 12 tattoos and 2 piercings at Tattoo Paradise (so far!), and never cease to be impressed by the quality of the work they do. Every artist is exceptionally talented, experienced, and knowledgeable. The environment is very clean and professional, and the pricing is more than fair. Ive gotten tattoos and piercings at other shops in town, and they all pale in comparison when it comes to quality. Staff are friendly and more than happy to help you reach your aesthetic goals while taking practicality and price range into account. Ive never had any issues with healing/scarring from any of the work Ive gotten done. I have always felt very comfortable and safe with every artist Ive worked with. If you want the best possible quality work done, it would be borderline irresponsible to go anywhere but here.

Tattoo paradise was pretty exciting. My girlfriend and I went there to get our nipples pierced. We were referred to this place from another Tattoo shop and I was throughly happy with my experience here. The shop itself is pretty small and when I called I was told that piercing is not a booked appointment but a walk-in, first come first served situation. Absolutely fine, we come in on Monday and the shop looks phenomenal! Art on the walls and jewelry in cases, very clean and fun to look at. I fill out the paperwork and we are seen in no time at all. The woman the pierced us was extremely polite and respectful. She was professional throughout the whole experience, going over how to clean and maintain everything, what to do and what not to do and how long it would take to heal. Once we were done, it was a smooth recovery process from there. I would 100% recommend coming here again.

Just got another tattoo here all by Trevor, fantastic experiences each time, I’m in love with my ink! But I also wanted to take a moment to say how well I think they’re handling being reopen in the pandemic. Appointments only keep it to only a few people inside at once, everything clean and sanitized. While waiting I overheard the piercer explaining to another client how to care new nose or earring while wearing masks every day which I loved!

Walked in with my partner to get something small for the both of us, front desk guy was so rude, snapped at us to speak up. Brought $600 in cash and was expecting to spend all of it, weve both been tattooed here 4 or 5 times and the service can be shoddy so was prepared for that. They quoted $250 for one small tattoo, simple, no shading. Would happilly have spent that and more but the guy was such a jerk about it, said they wouldnt stencil unless I got the tattoo, even after offering to pay for the stencil beforehand. Never had someone refuse to stencil. He said what, are you on a budget or something? lol, they printed mine out and I really loved it but by this point my partner didnt want anything so we both passed. Check out electric cat scratch if bad service isnt your thing

If I could give 0 stars I would. I have been in correspondence with John Lupo since July last year. In August, I was able to put down a deposit ($100) and set a January 2024 date for my tattoo. Our email correspondence had already been incredibly slow and I had to follow up often especially considering my money had already been placed down. In January, I had a death in the family and was unable to make the date and was hoping to reschedule soon. John’s “only” availability was for late May of this year. I follow him on Ig so I’ve seen his posts about his cancellations. It’s clear that although I’ve already put money down and have been talking with him for some time - I had not been taken into consideration. I called and spoke to the shop sharing my frustrations and was met with a monotone woman who had no sympathy for my situation. In my latest email with John he claimed that he wasn’t trying to push me away while encouraging me to look into other artists at his shop (when I didn’t even ask to be transferred). You don’t want someone tattooing your body who clearly has no interest in tattooing you. Because of his weird email, I reached out to the shop for an artist transfer on Feb 20th (via their contact us) and to another artist at the shop as well and have not heard back from either. The lack of customer service/professionalism is incredibly disappointing. I have been scammed out of my money. Don’t take money from clients if you have no interest in helping them or responding to their emails.

Artist went wait too hard on this piece. got infected within 1 day and still has not healed properly after 5 weeks. got plenty of tattoos and know how to take care of them. this was the longest healing tattoo process ever. also butchered this barbered heart tattoo

The guy at the front didn’t even know basic prices for a simple piercing with a standard piece of jewelry and was not very friendly. After I asked the prices, he left to go to the back room.Update: I asked for the most basic thing possible—an ear piercing—and the gentleman had to correct the price at least two times. I went to Embassy Tattoo and they were fantastic. Recommend going there instead.

I got a nipple piercing and everything was very sterile, super professional, great piercer and very little pain. It healed very quickly. Everyone was super nice. I highly recommend tattoo paradise for a piercing.

Came in for a walk in wanting a very simple tattoo(no shading and small). It was expensive but since it was a walk in I figured it would be on the pricier side. The dots on my tattoo are unevenly placed and the geometric shapes I got are a little uneven as well. The tattoo doesn’t look horrible but when I stare at it it’s definitely a little uneven. I don’t think they bothered reshaping the reference I gave them to be 100% symmetrical. They’re nice and all but I Wouldn’t come here for a walk in even if it’s a simple and small tat

We keep going back for more! We got piercings, a first tattoo, t-shirts, and a ton of good advice. They really know how to do aesthetic placements of stuff! Great design, great quality, worth it 💯

Kind and professional staff helped me really fine tune the design I had in mind. I walked in with no appointment and they were able to accommodate me for multiple small designs. As a relative newbie to tattooing, I appreciate that they didn’t skimp on the aftercare instructions either.

Artists are kind and knowledgeable, impeccable bedside manner. cost is worth the care and quality.

Amazing variety of talented artists and practitioners. I’ve already poured thousands of dollars there, with gorgeous work to show for it. I don’t plan on stopping.

Enjoyed my experience here - I thought the front desk guy, Adam, was awesome and very helpful. Lex did a killer job on my tattoo and I’m extremely satisfied with it. The other artists were very friendly and the vibes were great while I was getting my tattoo. My only bit of constructive feedback is that I wish they allowed appointments for smaller tattoos since I’m visiting DC and had to spend a couple of hours waiting, but I’m not taking away stars because it was an overall great experience.

A tattoo paradise indeed! First time doing a walk-in tattoo (small and simple) and it was such a great experience. Even though I arrived during rush hour (5pm), I was in and out in an hour (note this is not the norm.. I see some reviews complaining about waiting.. your fault for not making an appointment lol).Ben was such a sweetie at the front desk and helped me make a stencil, then quoted me BEFORE I went it. Nate was also super kind, gentle, and professional - and did a beautiful job! He really focused on the placement to make sure I’d like the position.I’ve been to shops where the staff is intimidating and gruff, but I felt so comfortable here. What a gem.

Amazing! I scheduled an appointment with Ellen and she was outstanding. Everyone in the shop was kind and helpful and the vibes were so fun and relaxing. Ellen’s work was precise and her hand was light! While I was waiting, I also saw a piercer helping a client pick out jewelry to swap out and they put in so much effort into making the customer feel heard and helped.

Fantastic piercing done by Ari. She and the whole staff was super friendly, skilled, and prioritized my comfort. Will definitely be returning!

My friend and I came in as walk-ins and only had to wait 30 minutes. The gentleman at the front counter was patient with us while my friend decided what she wanted. Once we were called to get our tattoos, the artists were professional and did a great job. When in DC again, I will be going there for my next piece.

Walked in to look at jewelry (I have 5 piercings). Was not greeted by staff, man (idk his name) behind the counter looked annoyed. He did not offer to help me out at all. (I would like to clarify I was literally right next to the front desk an arms length away) I asked if they had any hoops in silver instead of gold (was ignored) after my second time asking for help he practically yelled at me “to speak up” and then said “what we have [in the display] is what we got.” I decided to walk out. Rude and terrible customer service, especially because BVLA is a luxury brand which I was willing to pay for.Edit: after reading similar reviews to mine it’s a terrible business model to have this guy working there. He is souring the business and obviously has not been talked to about his attitude problem. Sad.

Had a great experience here. Got tatted by Guillermo and he was really professional with everything. We talked about a tattoo idea Ive had for awhile and he did his own spin on it and I absolutely loved it. During the tattoo he checked up on me alot to make sure I was comfortable. Def recommend and I will be back.

Got two piercings done by Leo, the apprentice at the time. He was super patient, kind, and honest when we realized one of the piercings I wanted originally may not be a good fit for my anatomy. Would definitely get pierced here again!

As much as I want another, I wouldn’t go back. Pre pandemic… mine is supposed to be a watermark. From day 1, people have asked me what it was.

Nate and the entire staff at Tattoo Paradise are amazing— I have gotten 2 tattoos done here and both have been phenomenal experiences. The shop is clean and reasonably priced for DC. My first tattoo was of a handwriting sample and Nate was able to do it within a week after I emailed the contact form on the website to set a date. The second piece was an addition to an existing tattoo (picture) and Nate did an absolutely stunning job matching the new art to old with a combo of pre-done design and freehand drawn leaves and stems to integrate the two tattoos. I was able to work the design out with him in advance via email. The staff is entirely professional and kind— their piercer even took the time to explain what had gone wrong with a previous cartilage piercing I had done (not at tattoo parlor) and give me some suggestions for fixing it. If you are local or visiting I would highly highly recommend this shop, especially if you email them with availability in advance.

The tatto artist were very kind. Especially because it was late at night lol. I love my tattoo it is beautiful. The reason I am giving 3 stars is because this place is very traditional and not exactly tattoo beginner friendly. I was getting my second tattoo and they gave me a bandage instead of saniderm which is fine. But the tattoo artist and the person at the front desk did not really provide me with good information about the healing process which was frustrating. Edit: Also the tape used was a bit cheap and caused and adverse reaction because of the adhesive. Which has made the healing process a little difficult. Great people! Just needs a little professionalism when it comes to questions clients may ask. I think pamphlets about the healing process should be made if its hard to explain to your client.

The shop was well decorated with art and ideas, the experience was terrible, the employee on staff at the front desk was rude when we asked about the bathrooms before we got to our tattoo design. He then proceeded to kick us out for the reason of simply asking to use the bathroom!Rude and disrespectful management

Alejandro is a visiting artist there who did my tattoo. I started getting light headed right away and he was very accommodating and checked in periodically throughout the tattoo to make sure I didnt pass out. He also gave me good suggestions on tattoo placement and size that I really appreciated. All around this shop is great.

Not a single word was said to my friends and I but the guy immediately had a terrible attitude as soon as we walked into the shop. He had an issue with someone asking to use the restroom and someone accidentally bringing in a beer. With no proper communication, the guy rudely kicked us out rather than allow us an opportunity to throw it away or step outside. 0/10 would recommend if you’re looking for a place that offers hospitality and some common manners.

I got my first tattoo done here recently and I am SO happy with it! Azalea at the front, helped me with the design and was so patient with me and helped me figure out the perfect idea. I then got tattooed by Nikki and she was so great and did an awesome job, it looks perfect. I will definitely be coming back.

I went here for an ear piercing and had a great experience. Patti is an excellent piercer, very professional, fast, seemed like going to a capable physician rather than a body piercing. Cost seemed fairly high but I’m sure I’m just unfamiliar with piercing costs — it was $110 and a $20 tip for standard ear lobe piercings.The shop itself is clean but not very well-appointed. Just a large open space with a tiny bench for waiting by the window.

I got my very first tattoo here and it was absolutly lovely!! Ben at the front desk was so welcoming and helpful and a really cool guy. I was a walk in and it was so easy to schedule and get my tattoo. My tattoo was done by Sam who was so kind and made sure I was comfortable the whole time. Ill be sure to get every tattoo here from now on. Def worth every cent

Both the artists and front desk staff are really friendly and helpful. Ive had 3 tattoos done here and theyve all been great work. I see a lot of reviews on here complaining about the walk-in service, but come on - a lot of tattoo places dont do walk-ins at all, especially during COVID. All of mine have been walk-ins and I am usually able to come back later in the day or make an appointment for the following day - they are very accommodating. Their prices are expensive, but as they should be because its really quality work and DC is expensive in general. Id rather pay more and know that something permanent on my body is going to be done well! I dont think Ill get tattoos from anywhere else in DC!

I had a third lobe and lower helix done at Tattoo Paradise as a walk in after previous plans fell through (my fault). The front desk guy was patient with me as I picked my jewelry and never rushed or pressured me, even on a fairly busy Friday night. My piercer, Ariana, was awesome. She was kind, friendly, professional and communicative. She let me know what she was doing every step of the way, which is nice even if you’ve had a few piercings before. I would definitely recommend piercings (at least in the ears, I don’t have any others) with her for anyone considering. The only thing I would say is that the jewelry selection felt a little limited and expensive for what you can get at other reputable parlors in the District, but not enough to take off a star if you see what you like!

On vacation and decided it was time for a tattoo to celebrate my new start and my son. My best friend and I were able to walk in on a Saturday. Billy was my artist and he was fantastic. I’m not a fan of needles (who is?) and he put my nerves to ease and made me feel so comfortable. The studio was clean and the front desk attendant was extremely friendly and accommodating. This is my second tattoo and a wonderful experience from start to finish.

Great shop. They take appointments but can squeeze in walk-ins. I sat with Johnny. Great guy. Really conscientious about ensuring he designs to the customer’s desired outcome. Great experience.

My best friend and I came to D.C. on vacation and decided to get a tattoo on a whim. As two young women, we felt extremely safe and comfortable here! The staff were extremely friendly and everyone had great communication. Matt was our artist and he was welcoming and made sure we were comfortable and happy! I can’t say enough great things about this parlor!

Absolutely such a good place to get a tattoo. we did walk ins and they got us in right away. if you’re doing walk ins i would totally recommend coming in as soon as they open because they’re busy with walk ins!!! nate is absolutely amazing. such a nice guy who does such great work. would absolutely recommend!

I’ve gotten two pieces done here, and they were amazing both times. The staff in front is so accommodating and helpful, and the artists ensure you get exactly what you want. They make suggestions to location and design but every decision is completely up to you. Spencer was awesome— my most recent piece was quick and so well done. I recommend this shop to everyone in DC!

I looooove my tattoo so much. Danny did a good job and was very nice since it was my first tattoo. Give them a try guys although they are on the pricier side , it’s fine because you won’t regret your tattoo🤘🏾

I got my ears pierced here & paid a high amount compared to other places. The store had a sign mentioning something about paying for the good service, so sure I did. The piercing had migrated because of the size of the earring they gave me. I came back to remove it & they told me to wait a couple of months until it healed to get it done again. After I did, they told me I wasn’t able to since the earring may migrate again, so the piercer told me to get another piercing free of charge but they needed a few hours to sterilize the earring. I tried to come in another day & they told me I was going to get charged an extra fee because the piercer is different. I came in another day when the piercer was working & they told me I needed to pay extra for a new backing to the earring which was not communicated previously. Then proceeded to say I needed to pay another amount for using a credit card.Truly the most frustrating experience. I would not recommend coming here. I’ve been to MANY different piercing places before & had never experienced such horrible service.

Super rad folks work there. Great service, great tattoos at absolutely reasonable prices. Never a bad day when I get to stop by. Have gotten two tattoos there and in both cases the artists worked with me to get my pieces where they should be and their expertise meant all of the difference. Scheduling appointments is easy (walk-ins seem easy too, just havent tried it). Thanks for everything!

I honestly just went there this morning as a walk in and had a great experience. It was a rather spur-of-the-moment tattoo, but I’ve known that I wanted to get something similar for a while.I went with one of my friends and the lady at the front desk was nice and polite to both of us. Only a couple minutes of wait before we were brought to the back. My tattoo was done by Tom Kenney and he was really nice. He listened to my questions, understood my input, and encouraged me through the pain. He was also listening to me the whole time I was rambling on! I’m in chemistry so I got trinitrotoluene tattooed on my sternum and I would periodically look down and say “a nitrous group is done!” or “half of the benzene ring is through!” and he was joking back with me about how I’m the first person he’s ever done a molecule tattoo on who knew what they were talking about!Yes, it was a little pricey, but putting together the size of the art, the time it took to do it, where it would be and how Tom would have to deal with a customer in pain and cracking bad jokes because she’s in pain, I felt like the price was fair. The only other slightly negative thing I could say is that the lines are slightly crooked (not really noticeable unless you’re looking closely), but again it was rather painful and I twitched a lot. But I also know that this can be easily fixed with the free (within six months) touch up!That was a long post, but my whole experience was really great and the people who worked there were really nice. Thank you!

Reviewing based on my experiences (two) for piercings! About two years ago I got my septum pierced by a really lovely lady, unfortunately whose name I dont remember. Then the service was fantastic, everyone was nice, and my piercer made me feel very comfortable! She explained everything that was going to happen before and was really encouraging. She was so great I didnt feel a thing!My second time visiting I got a vertical labret piercing done by Brian. He was honest from the get go about his professional opinion regarding healing, chance of rejection (Apparently these piercings do have a higher possibility of rejection which is understandable), and overall information regarding the piercing itself; which I really really respect. Once I decided to just go for it, he was AMAZING. Completely explained everything that would happen, took his time making up my lip, making sure the line was straight, that I was happy with it, etc. Of course since its a lip piercing through the soft tissue it did hurt a little, but definitely not a negative experience in any way! After the piercing was done we waited a bit to see how much it would swell, and even changed the bar to a shorter one.Price is VERY fair for piercings, everywhere else is either more expensive or completely not even worth going to! If youre looking for a great experience and a great piercing totally go and ask for Brian!

Was not even able to have a chance to use this business. They lost at least $400 tonight. Extremely disappointed. My friends and I came to DC for a couple days and wanted to get a tattoo. We stopped by around 2:30pm and the front desk guy, Drew told us to come back at 8pm but that hed call me back if anything changed. I didnt receive any call or text all day, so we stayed somewhat local, showed up at 8 just for him to tell us sorry, they couldnt accommodate us. I asked why he didnt call or text like he said he would. He just shrugged it off and said sorry. Very disappointed because if we knew we wouldnt be able to get our work done there, we could have made it somewhere else at an earlier time. Its our last day in town and he knew this. Follow-up shouldve happened, it was a very easy task. Now were calling all the local shops and theyre closed.

My sisters and I all got piercings here last weekend after Embassy Piercing cancelled our appts at the last minute and didn’t bother to let us know... I wish I had gotten the names of the piercer (I think it was Pattie?) and the guy at the front desk (had a British sounding accent). She was super quick, professional, and did a great job walking me through what she was doing and how to care for my nose piercing. The gentleman at the front desk could tell my sister-in-law was nervous, and he tactfully steered her back to us before her turn, suggesting we might want to give her some encouragement beforehand. Everyone was very kind and patient; I will definitely come here if and when I finally work up the courage to get that tattoo I’ve always wanted... 😅

I got a piercing done on my chest (the specific word may be flagged by google, but it rhymes with ripple) by Ariana and was really impressed! Since I was a walk-in, I had to wait for a little bit (maybe ten minutes). Straight weirdo behavior & a very incompetent front desk person. Doesn’t know prices/jewelry sizing. Kept questioning my knowledge of my OWN body anatomy. I know exactly what I came in there for & what size I ALREADY have in/want.Wasted an hour of my day/time waiting for the piercer that never came out to service us. Mind you, we’ve been calling for weeks and even came in person to receive piercings and she’d NEVER be there.Bad experience all around. Unprofessional and awkward customer service. From ALL STAFF.

I got 4 tattoos done by Jorge. 3 small ones and 4th - a beautiful butterfly. The last one was a little bit challenging because it was a coverup. Jorge was very professional and also gave me a lot of information about the placement, color, and other details of the tattoo so that I could make a proper decision.He is also a very nice person. I absolutely loved my experience here! Lex did my tattoo and she absolutely bodied it!! Its so beautiful! This place was absolutely wonderful. I got a piercing done by Carl, and she was phenomenal! She didn’t pressure me whilst being apprehensive and was very patient with my decision making process. Love this place! Always are super professional and kind. Got my nose pierced there and had them switch out my studs a couple times, great experience each time. The jewelry they offer is very high quality and I have had no problems with it. Overall a very trust-worthy place, would recommend highly.

Highly recommended and affordable! Got a tongue piercing from Erica (I hope I’m spelling it correctly). They were friendly and welcoming from the get. The piercing is exactly where I want it and was quick and easy. I’m not a novice to piercing but I almost passed out after this time; she came out and did whatever she could to make me more comfortable. I appreciated everything.

I was referred to David from a friend and came down from Baltimore to get a tattoo- he was able to put to life exactly (better than) what I envisioned. I got one helix piercing more than a year ago from a different place for half the price that still hurts to this day. I thought that was standard.Lo and behold, I am two weeks out from my Tattoo Paradise conch piercing and have yet to experience any real pain at all. I can sleep on the side of the piercing no problem. The extra cost is worth it. I would highly recommend going here.

Was searching all day for a tattoo shop, but everyone was supposedly super booked or closed up shop way earlier than what time they told me over the phone. So, I continued looking and it was pretty late as far as tattoo shops closing at 8 or 9, but I stumbled across tattoo paradise which said they closed at 10 so I was super happy cause My friend and I really wanted to get tatted. So, we get there and the vibe was already super friendly, we knew exactly what we wanted which I assume was also very helpful for the artist instead of us coming in not knowing and just being difficult. We got simple small tattoos and We were literally in and out of the shop within say 30-45 minutes. I would definitely recommend Billy. He was a super cool and chill artist! And my tattoos didnt hurt when he did them! Thank you, and I will definitely be a returning customer!

Fantastic experience getting my first tattoo. Walked in and the artists there were more than willing to help. Was an pretty easy experience, great quality work, and was done in a timely fashion. Also gave me some helpful advise on how to take care of it. Would definitely recommend as a place to get their first tattoo done.

Ive come here several times for piercings (Erika) and tattoos (Nikki Balls Lugo and D. Wayne.) All three artists have been extremely professional, kind, and friendly, and the people working the front desk have always been very helpful and cheerful as well. My experiences here have been very pleasant. In the past at other shops, I find that they often have bad vibes and a negative attitude so this was a great experience! The prices are definitely on the high side which I think is because of (a) the popular location in a high demand urban area and (b) high quality and professionalism. This place gets a 5/5 stars from me :)

The guy at the front desk was not friendly and the tattoo artist I got was not any better. He got frustrated with me for being nervous about my first tattoo. Zero patience. The tattoo itself is nice but I was charged $20 more than minimum tattoo price for a heart outline smaller than a dime. Never going back again.

David C. is the best. Very quick only took him a hour and few minutes to finish. Line work and everything is clean. But however this shop is very pricey but worth the money. I’m completely satisfied with my tattoo but for $500 I believe I could’ve got a lot more done to the tattoo and I could’ve after I spoke to David. So when you go here just make sure you completely know what you want. If I would’ve said something I could’ve got more work done i’m very anti-social lol. But this shop is worth it! I really recommend David and Eddie!

I got a tattoo here years ago.. and I recently went in to buy a new nose ring as mine fell out.The women at the counter looked at me as if Id insulted them by being in their presence. They eventually asked me why I was there and directed me to the gentleman who I could order the nose ring through.In short, my tattoo was great, and the gold nose ring I bought looks great in my nose, but the rudeness that the staff exudes is borderline unacceptable. I wouldnt, in good conscience, send a friend there for any services.

I had a great experience at Paradise tattoo in Washington DC. I just turned 70 and being an long time dead head I thought it was time for a tattoo. I picked the simple “steal your face” line drawing with Built To Last underneath of it. Billy was the artist he did an excellent job it was quick and the image he drew was very high-quality. I thought everybody at paradise was welcoming and friendly. A great place for a first tattoo

A good studio, manages to straddle that difficult line of preserving an internal culture and identity without being off-putting to the general public. Smooth front desk operations and excellent communication. Very fair pricing, though your mileage may differ by artist.Would recommend for first timers or more experienced.

I walked in for a nostril piercing around 8 pm on a Monday night, and the guy at the front desk was immediately helpful and friendly.Brian, the piercer, was awesome as well – very engaging, extremely professional, and eminently informative. This was the most positive experience in a tattoo/piercing shop Ive ever had. (I have several tattoos and have had three piercings.)

I got a tattoo from here 3 weeks ago. Had an awkward run around where I called and was told to email them but they didnt respond and I had to call them back about a week later just to be told that the email was deleted (they did apologize!). It made things more rushed but they actually gave me a solution that wasnt oop so sorry, we cant do your tattoo anymore nor oop well call you back in a bit to let you know what we can do *never calls me back* so I really really appreciate that. They are a bit pricey but honestly thats to be expected of a shop in the middle of a tourist metropolis. I was charged $500 for an 8x5 full color custom tattoo, but dont take this as gospel as pricing can be vastly different depending on different elements of your tattoo. Plus, the artist who did my tattoo, Billy Bennett, killed it and the tattoo is healing beautifully so, youre paying for guaranteed quality, experience, and skill. This was my first tattoo and they didnt patronize me or make me feel unwelcome so thats also nice. They were all super friendly as well. Billy wasnt much of a talker but neither am I and I think he picked up on that so I appreciate that. Only other gripe I have is I wish we wouldve took our time and sat down and talked more about the tattoo the day before because we kind of had to rush through size and placement on the day of getting the tattoo. That part was more uncomfortable than getting the tattoo, itself lol. That wasnt totally their fault, btw, but I also wasnt sure how that was supposed to work out (again, its my first tattoo). So, come prepared with as many questions as possible, thats my advice.

Had got Tatted years ago here twice by Carly, Scripted lettering at first , he did a great job. Second was a Joker. Gordie recently tatted me a Cupid for me daughter , was very happy and tattoo healed nicely. Am happy and will go back. Secondly I found out that the shop owner had once worked @ Pirate Tattoo In MIA which I have also frequented for more than one tattoo. I believe that Gordie and the Shop owner have learned the right way, and I would recommend anyone in the DC area to go here.... I mean where else would you go in this area?? Except for Baltimore and further out DC this is IT.

Got a tattoo today done by tattoo artist, Scott. He was so nice & friendly and did an amazing job on my Pisces tattoo. I love it and am completely thrilled with how it came out! Ill definitely go back to him when Im ready for my third tattoo.

Went in a few months ago to get a vertical labret piercing. Erika pierced me. After some time I noticed the piercing wasn’t completely straight. I took it out and called them up, and Erika redid it for free! She made it as quick and painless as possible, was very apologetic (even though she didn’t need to be, mistakes happen!) and sent me on my way. Very good experience.Aside from that, tattoo paradise has been responsible for quite a few friends of mine’s tattoos and piercings. All the work I see come out of there is excellent and if there’s an issue for any reason they’re very prompt about fixing it.Highly recommend!

I am super bummed out about this place. I had some time to kill in DC and had been thinking about getting another tattoo for a long time. This place was recommended by the locals and has good ratings so I gave them a call. When I called and asked if they could get me in around two hours later they said come down we take walk-ins. I thought that was cool and grabbed an Uber. When I got there the place had a good vibe and I was ready for some ink. The gal at the counter was nice but didnt care that I had called. I waited as I have waited at parlors like this before. Over an hour later they were ready for me and were basically going to repetitively stamp me with a design I had shown them as an example. I said no hold up Im looking for you guys to take some creative license thats just an example. They told me it would be $500 bucks for the tattoo and I was blown away. It took an hour for them to ask me what I wanted and then they came back with an outrageous price for a simple tat that would be around 4x8 inches and one color. There was no negotiation so I politely said not thanks and walked out which is fine but I would have preferred to have walked out over an hour earlier. Anyways no ink for me today and much time wasted.

Im really late with this review since my tiger tattoo was done probably 4 or 5 years ago . I had it done toward right upper chest area and I love it!!! Im always having folks say Hey nice ink! Im going to get another one near my 68th birthday in August and I would never go anywhere else. My tigers green eyes are still sparklers. V

They are not necessarily the friendliest bunch of people, they dont like to listen much, but Brian did my daith and hes good at his job. He said hes been piercing for 18 years and the daith is a complicated piercing, but so far, I have no problems with it. I have 15 piercings though so I know how to take care of them.Anyway, all in all, good place for piercings, about average priced, or maybe a little more pricey, but youre in good hands. Dont go here if youre trying to make friends either.

Ive had 4 tattoos done at Tattoo Paradise, and theyve helped me change out a piercing a couple times. Every time Ive gone Ive received great service and left with exactly what Ive wanted. This is the best place to go for tattoo/piercing needs in the city!

I got a double helix piercing from Brian and was really happy with it. He took his time and it looked great. I left to go abroad after a few weeks and it still wasnt healing and got very infected and swollen. I went to a different piercer abroad who told me that the bar/ post he put in after he pierced my ear was the one that they usually use for healed piercings and wasnt long enough. Because of that mistake, my ear started to heal over the backing. I LITERALY HAD TO HAVE IT CUT OUT OF MY EAR. Lots of pain and money later, I do not recommend this place to anyone.

Terrible service, front desk staff are arrogant and cannot give you a quote until they make you wait for 45+ mins, then another 90 mins to actually get a tattoo. From start to finish, the experience at Tattoo Paradise was incredible. The artist portfolios on their website and on Instagram are updated almost every day, allowing you to narrow it down to an artist who best fits what you want. After figuring out what I wanted, I walked in to ask some questions and the desk staff was very welcoming and gladly answered all of my questions. They introduced me to Nikki, one of the artists who was very enthusiastic to hear my ideas, set an appointment and promised to sketch something up. When I came back for my appointment, Nikki was ready to go with a perfect design, and made me feel comfortable by cracking jokes and telling hilarious stories while doing the piece. Speaking of the piece, it exceeded my expectations, turning out perfect. Theres a reason Nikki has almost all five star reviews! I would recommend this place to anyone looking to get inked, and will definitely be going back for my future tattoos.Edit: ten months after this review, Ive been back twice and gotten a tattoo from Thomas Kenney and Dave Cavalcante. Both have been topnotch work and like Nikki, artists who go out of their way to make you feel comfortable. The front desk staff is also always incredibly friendly and willing to answer any question you have, no matter how silly you think it may seem.

The Summary: I just came out of a minor, painful surgery to remove the extremely negligent piercing done here. Ive had many piercings and can say with confidence that this one was done absolutely wrong. Please dont patronize this establishment.The Long Version: I went to Tattoo Paradise with friends to get my third cartilage piercing. The front desk staff were curt and not incredibly comforting; it is the kind of body art place that chooses to intimidate rather than welcome. So I am no stranger to piercings, my other piercings have cost ~$50 with nonstandard jewelry, but I was told $80 here. Expensive. Above the unsmiling staff was written, The bitterness of poor quality outlasts the sweetness of low price. Screw it, I think. Im paying a premium for cold, hard people who know what theyre doing. The woman piercing me makes no attempt to carry the small talk I start (unusual and unprofessional, most piercers know that small talk helps the customer relax before pain).After the piercing, she explicitly tells me NOT to spin the jewelry because it doesnt need it, and a saline soak without touching it will be just fine. The post is also very small and my skin is squeezing against it (she should definitely have been able to see this--I assumed she had and that this was normal, so said nothing). This is at odds with my previous piercings, where I have been advised to spin the piercing and clean it with a q-tip after saline soaks, and where the piercer has explicitly told me that the post is left longer to give the skin room to swell. But I follow her instructions--I soak morning and night, gently wipe it off, and leave it be. After all, shes the piercer, right? I tell myself she probably knows better.Nope.Fast forward to today, it is two weeks since I got my piercing. I wake up and my ear is feeling a strange kind of pain. I wash my hands and touch the back of my piercing--only there IS NO BACK OF MY PIERCING. In the healing process, my skin had nowhere to go from the tiny post and swallowed up the back. I go to my doctor with this emergency: it takes three doctors and a minor surgery to remove this post from my ear, which had healed over it and was screwed on so tightly that they almost had to cut through my ear to get it off. When they finally remove it and I see the earring back.... Yall it was so small the back she used was smaller than the gem itself. The gem itself was 2mm. Of COURSE that back was going to get swallowed up. I honestly am kicking myself for not keeping the jewelry to show you, and for taking it to them to show them.All in all, I paid $80 + doctors fees to have a surgery that ended in no piercing.****Most importantly: in checking reviews, I found that I am NOT the first person who went to Tattoo Paradise to have this happen. Not only that, but the way the owners of this place respond to reviewers is incredibly unacceptable--it is absolutely understandable to refrain from admitting liability, but to mock your reviewers, double down, and blame them? Thats not civilized behavior. I am genuinely frightened that they will bully me after I leave this review, but thats how bullies thrive and I have to post this as I am genuinely concerned for other customers wellbeings. It is part of the reason it is so long and detailed.

Stopped in to stretch my ears ip from 00 to 7/16 and Erica, the shop manager hooked me up! She was extremely gentle, informative, and attentive. Tattoo Paradise has been where I go for jewelry since I started stretching, and they are consistent in giving good service. Cant wait to go back for a tattoo next time!

My sister and I go in for our birthdays to get tattoos together; my first, her third. First impression was great. The place was clean and the guy at the front desk was really nice. We went there because they accepted walk-ins, which is hard to find. They said they could get to our tattoos in 45 minutes. We waited 3 hours before we were able to go back to get our tattoo. I was also quoted a higher price than I expected, given the design I picked out. I was also uncomfortable with paying ahead of time, in case they did a terrible job. When we finally got back there, it helped that the tatoo artist was so nice. He was very careful with me, it being my first tattoo. He kept conversation going and kept checking on me to make sure I was okay. When I saw my tattoo for a short period of time before he covered it, I was thrilled. However, when I got home and started looking at it more closely, I was a little disappointed. The cross was not symmetrical. I understand it wont look perfect because this is hand drawn art, but the image he was tracing was symetrical. I expected it to be a bit better drawn than it was. When I show people, some even comment on how the different sides dont match and how it looks off...thats no fun. I dont think theres a great way to fix it either. On the flip side, my sisters tatoo looks great! One other thing that bothered me is they didnt offer any information on how to take care of it. I felt like I had to ask all the questions, and I wasnt sure I was getting all the info I needed. That felt very unprofessional. I dont think Ill go there again.

Stopped in to get a DC souvenir tattoo Friday evening. The staff seemed friendly and helpful. When It came time to get my tattoo the so called artist didnt seem like he was having a good night. I asked what he thought about the location of the tattoo and basically couldnt care less and said its on you you decide. Thanks. At that point with his attitude I was going to say forget it but then figured it was no big deal. Mistake. He rushed the job, the lines are crooked and I will be going in to a local tattoo place when I get home and it heals to have it straightened out. I have several tattoos this was not my first so I can speak from experience. I would never go back there.

Dont ever go there! The owner is completely absolutely rude and entitled. I was taking a gentleman (Jerry) whos a Senior Citizen and a Marine to an appointment and he walks with a cane. Matthew Knopp the owner of the shop wanted to fight over a parking spot and literally reversed his Audi into my leg as I stood waiting to help my friend. He dared me to call the police and didnt care as he blocked busses and other cars from passing. It was more important for him to be able to park in front of his store than be even remotely considerate!

Ive gotten sailor jerry flash done 3 separate visits by 3 different artists and it came out perfect every time. These guys know what theyre doing, Ive got a lot of tattoos and I trust them with more. The only legit old school shop worth visiting in DC.

I did a tattoo about a year ago, my friends looked for a place, and they saw good recommendations about tattoo paradise. I did some words on my shoulder, it was suppose to be an easy tattoo, at least they told me that it would be. I did my tattoo with Carly, but the words were very blurry, it was terrible, I returned there few days later, and they tried to fix it with white ink, but was still very bad!!! I dont know if now he is better or not, I just wanna share my experience, it wasnt good at all! And its something for the rest of my life. Now Im gonna try to fix it, but I dont know how it will be, because I really dont want something big on my shoulder.

Got a tattoo here last week by the store owner, Matthew, I believe. Ive had nothing but problems with my tattoo and so has my friend that went with me. Its been a week and it still hurts to touch because of how hard he was going with the needle. He used the wrong colors from what we wanted because he wouldnt look at the picture again when I asked him to. Mine is on my thigh so I couldnt really see to watch what colors he was using. My arms were twitching because he was digging into my skin so hard. Im just taking care of it the best I can and hoping it doesnt blur out. Its still scabbed as if I got it yesterday.

I really wish that I could write a good review considering I frequent this shop pretty often. And by often I mean at least once a month however their female piercer is ALWAYS late and ALWAYS has an excuse. I’m not holding this review to the whole shop but at what point does management step in and realize this is not only unprofessional but it’s costing them business. How unfortunate!

Horrible-pierced my ear poorly leading to scars on both front and back. I’d never had this problem before. When I went to see them again they told me to use tea tree oil which did nothing and then asked me to tip them for the advice. So basically now I just have an awful scar that won’t go away and there’s nothing I can do. Thanks for disfiguring my ear

Although they technically take walk-ins, they are not helpful in letting you know how long the wait will be. I called ahead and they said to come in, but there might be a little wait. I show up around 7:30 and they say they won’t be free until midnight… I get that maybe somebody walked up for, like, a half sleeve or something but that just seems crazy.

So I called the shop around 3pm ask if they are taking walk ins, i was told the person thats at the front stepped out for lunch I said alright and then I can have them call you back I said that would be great i left my name and number, no call back. The sad part is that Ive had work done at this location before.

Walked right in to get my ears pierced and was in and out in less than 20 minutes. Brian was a great conversationalist and truly made it a positive experience.

Got my first tattoo here and the staff could not have been kinder. I had an out of town artist and the line was slightly thicker than I wanted, but definitely would recommend.

Rip off establishment. I’m military and called a little late from my appointment after being put on an extra assignment. They didn’t try to work with me at all and took the $100. Literally just didn’t even care. I would not recommend any service member to this place at all.

Ive been going to Tattoo Paradise for a little over 13 years and the staff is always amazing and professional.

I followed all care instructions and I have scarring now where the artist tattooed and the ink has faded because of the heavy hand and scarring. I would not recommend this shop to anyone.
