I believe the man who pierced my Monroe and vertical labret name is Nate, he did a very nice job. Clean and professional and gentle. I highly recommend Northside tattoo. Maybe in the future Ill get a tattoo here.

Matt is an incredible tattoo artist and sign painter. Aside from his impeccable eye for detail and bright color, he has a steady hand. Healing post tattoo is easy and fast, and the staff explain the process very thoroughly. Buying aftercare was affordable and key to a quick heal! The shop is sterile and clean, and they open new disposables in front of each customer each time. I’ve never seen a shop so clean and sterile! The artists wear gloves and take all the necessary precautions to keep everyone safe. An honest and hardworking family run shop and most definitely underrated when it comes to the immense talent and fair pricing.

On a whim I called this shop and was offered to come in to talk about the tattoo I wanted. I met with Bruce who has been in the industry for 29 years. He spent so much time during my consult by helping figure out exactly what I was looking for. He even took a picture of the area I wanted my tattoo and was able to photoshop the tattoo onto it ! I’m amazed with how sanitary he was and how at ease the whole process was. I think he changed his gloves a total of 8 times!!! He really listened to what my ideas were and put them into motion where other tattoo shops turned me away because I didn’t have the exact picture of what I wanted. I definitely will be back and have found my artist for life ! Thanks Bruce I absolutely love it !!!

Matt, Mike and Nate are just wonderful. The shop has a great, friendly vibe. My significant other and I are repeat customers. I would high recommended the shop to anyone looking for ink or a piercing.

Matt Stankis, the owner, is very talented. Hes pleasant, professional and his shop is immaculately clean (and decorated very cool). This is my 4th tattoo by him and I wouldnt go anywhere else! I totally trust him. Whether this is ur 1st or 10th tattoo, go see Matt. U wont b disappointed!

I came here to get a vertical labret piercing. Right away I knew the piercer was going to be good. He was careful and super friendly. He explained what he was doing every step. I ended up coming back to get it pierced over because I wanted it farther down on my lip. I called ahead of time to see when they could be available to do that. I didn’t even know I was speaking to the piercer until he told me, but he was so nice and helpful, and he offered to do it for free; I didn’t even have to ask. The second he did it in the exact spot I wanted. I will definitely come back to get more piercings. I will say he showed me the first time around the dots he made where he was going to pierce it to make sure that was okay with me. I wasn’t sure, so I told him I trust his judgment. So he does make sure it’s in a spot you want it.

Matt is so talented and honest. When I wanted something that he didnt think would look good, he told me. I was grateful. And the piece he did on me was just gorgeous. I get compliments on it everywhere I go.Amber is also awesome. She has done several piercings for me and I think she has a softer touch than others I had a piercing from.The shop is clean, the atmosphere fun and relaxing. Best tattoo shop I have ever seen. Definitely worth the drive if you are out of state!

My tattoo looks amazing. Matt was very professional and his line work was really perfect which I was worried about (for anyone not specifically him) at first because of my ocd. I’m glad my first tattoo artist will now be my only artist. I studied his work before and noticed he’s very versatile, he can give you what you want and have you walking away with a smile on your face. Thanks for the time I spent here. Love my new piece, sleeve officially started ☺️

Atmosphere is great. Nathan is awesome with piercings, lets you know exactly what he is doing and why every step of the way. Very patient and knowledgeable. Big Mike is awesome with tattoos, puts you at ease and makes sure you get exactly what you want. Havent had a chance of sitting with Matt but Im sure I will with a future tattoo. Highly recommend this place . Wont leave disappointed.

Just had “Big Mike” do a cover up for me, and he was awesome! I went in for my consultation, he booked me an appointment for the same day and squeezed me in, and he was so patient. He took the time to draw up a few designs and give me as many options as possible. I also went alone (thinking I was used to a tattoo but cover ups are definitely more painful) and he talked to me the whole time, kept my mind busy, and explained everything he was doing. I highly recommend this shop, but even more so, big Mike. I’ll definitely be going back for some other work. Also, the shop is spotless clean.

Love this PLACE!! I just got my first tattoo here and Matt (the owner) is so skilled it is incredible! Not only did he finish the tattoo quickly but he was just so chill! When I called, Nathan answered the phone and he was also very friendly! If this is your 1st tattoo or your 50th you will love this place!

Im happy with the tattoo. Big Mike was legit. He was friendly, patient, and his work was solid. Im giving the shop 3* , not Big Mike, because of pricing. Holy sh*t. Shop around is all I can say. I was in a hurry to get a particular tattoo otherwise I never would have paid what I did. What a shame, because now I wont go back there.

I got my septum pierced by Matt when they first reopened, and it has been my best piercing experience so far! The shop was immaculately clean, he took special care to bend a piece of jewelry to fit my nose perfectly, and also gave me plenty of aftercare supplies to make sure it healed perfectly. When i recently lost the ball to my jewelry, he mailed me an extra for free aswell! I recommend this shop to all of my friends and family, so professional and always a great experience.

Matt did a memorial tattoo for my dog that passed. He captured his character perfectly and I could not have asked for a better experience. Tattoo healed perfectly & I will be back for more. Highly recommend!

I was lucky to have Matt give me a tattoo that he designed for me. He was professional and the place was clean and orderly especially with the restrictions due to Covid-19. I would definitely recommend going there to get your next ink! I will be back!

Absolutely the only place that I will ever get tattooed. Matt did my first tattoo before there was a Northside, and with the exception of one tattoo I got somewhere else (which he ended up fixing anyway) he has done all my work ever since. I will NEVER let anyone else tattoo me ever again. He always knows exactly how to make something look just how I want it, even if Im not quite sure myself what I want, and I come in with some totally random uncommon ideas. I put all my faith in him every time, and it always turns out awesome. I get TONS of compliments on my color, my lines are all neat and clean, and Ive never once had an issue with healing, or fading. Ive never seen anything in the shop that looks out of place, or not sterile, or questionable at all. The place is immaculately clean, and definitely worth checking out.

I looked on the website and saw that walk ins were accepted. I drove some distance to the shop and walked up, I saw a sign that said no walk ins, call for information. I got back in the car and called the shop, I asked if I could be tattooed today by chance. The man on the phone said we can give you a consultation but we may not be able to tattoo you today. I explained how I had already driven here and asked POLITELY is there anything that he thinks he could by chance. He said we can consult you and POSSIBLY tattoo you. I said well if I cannot be serviced today I won’t come for the consult because I would very much like my tattoo today. If there is nothing you can do I will have to go elsewhere but thank you. This man said that he wouldn’t want to service me because of my attitude and hung up on me. This was so rude and unprofessional.

Matt did my first tattoo, at the ripe ole age of 60. Was absolutely scared out of my mind, yet Matt and Amber took the time to make me feel comfortable. Matts design was just what I was looking for and the complements are still rollin in. Now I dont forget to ask the questions...thanks Matt and Amber!!!

I’ve now gotten both a piercing and a tattoo at Northside and I can’t say enough good things about this place! The staff is beyond friendly, accommodating, and willing to work with you like no other. Super clean & following all covid protocols, I’d highly recommend this shop to anyone.

I got a tattoo from Matt a couple years ago, and am saving up for more. Hes a total professional, from the consult to the design to the execution. I couldnt believe how clean the linework was, and how quick and easy it seemed to be for him to do this amazing piece. Everyone who sees it thinks it must have taken hours, but it was only about 45mins and it still looks incredible 2 years later, with no bleeding whatsoever. I looked this place up today because someone asked me for a recommendation and I couldnt remember the name of the shop. Figured Id leave a review while Im here... I cant recommend this place highly enough.

Shout out to Big Mike. Professional and executed what I envision. After leaving the business my husband and I just missed being in a car accident. I was tattooed with a cross and I believe the Jesus saved us.

They told me nose piercing was $50 and theres a wide variety I can choose from. when I arrive the guy said it was $60 and only 1 ring I can they have. False advertisements!! Beware

What a great tattoo shop. I have plenty of ink, Northside was, by far, the best tattoo experience I have ever had. I was tatooed by Matt, the owner. Not only is he cool and super down to earth, his work is super clean and FAST. He layed down the line work quicker and cleaner than tatttos I have that are even smaller. I am returing in a few days to get the piece colored and I can not wait. I never go to the same tattoo aritst for new work, I love to get tatttoos from as many different artists as I can, but, I will 100% be returing the Northside for my next piece. Great job, Matt!!
