I have wanted this tattoo forever. Many thank you thank yous to Eddie for bringing this vision to life and adding some beautiful artistic touches. Its so beautiful and looking at it everyday makes me happy. If you are looking to get a tattoo yeah Eddie is your guy!! He did such an amazing job Ill be going back for another super soon!!!

I recently had a tattoo fixed by Carlos from Archetype tattoo and it was a great experience. His pricing was fair and he was very kind and professional throughout. I will definitely be coming back! Here’s my before and after Carlos fixed me up!

Marina at Archetype did an absolutely amazing job! This is my first tattoo and she made me feel very comfortable and explained everything before she did it. It came out wonderful and I 10/10 will be going back to her if I want another tattoo in the future!!

Update: if i could give more than 5 stars I would. Went back to Chelsey for many tattoos and this last one was awesome! Photos added.Went for my tattoo with Chelsey. I told her my story and the vision I had in my head. Other than that I asked her to take the wheel on creativity, and she did way above what I expected. Her line work and technique are amazing as well. Her black and white/color skills are freaking awesome. I am definitely going back!

Just got my first tattoo in a really long time, and I couldnt have been more thrilled with the experience. The staff and artists are super inviting and friendly. I have nothing but good words to say about this shop, the owner Ben, and my artist, Aldo Gallegos.I first met Aldo several years ago when he took over on a tattoo I wasn’t able to get finished by the original artist for various reasons. The work that was originally done was just fine, but Aldo really made the character shine in a way I didn’t think possible. My expectations were blown out of the water and I was amazed by the improvements he made.Fast forward to 2024, and I came to him with a a few references, an illustrative idea, and a lot of rambling details I hoped he could include. Once again, he was able to take my thoughts and run with them to create a gorgeous illustration. We had a “clarity consultation”, something I think every artist should do, to hammer out details and go over any changes I might want made to the original design. I was able to watch his process, see his color-theory (unmatched!) in action, and okay the final design.Aldo’s application to skin is flawless, he takes the time needed to make a beautiful piece of art that will stick around for decades to come. Also, he uses Saniderm, which speeds up the healing process immensely. It is clear Aldo takes great pride in what he does, and you can only benefit from getting work done by him. I love showing off the piece and letting people know where I got it. It is only a bonus that he is kind and attentive, something that can lack in the tattoo community.It reflects on the tattoo shop and the owner, Ben, that there is clearly a carefully-cultivated team of professionals at Archetype. I will 100% be returning to Archetype, and Aldo, for my next tattoo.

Carlos was great. I have had two sessions with him so far. First was about 3.5 hrs, second was about 4. I will be making regular appts for a while. I am really picky and have zero complaints.

I recently had Ben Shaw do some tattoo work. Ive been to three other studios in two other states and this was by far the superior experience.From the consultation to the design process to the tattoo sessions, this was a smooth, comfortable and very enjoyable experience.His studio is relaxed, professional, and clean. Ben is a great conversationalist on top of being a stellar artist. The design he came up with for me based on the questions I answered during the consultation and the pictures I provided to him really left me speechless. He exceeded my expectations.I would highly recommend Ben for any complicated, intricate or custom tattoo artwork. Yes, hes booked months and months into the future. Theres a reason for that. It was worth every minute, week and month of the wait!

Ben did an outstanding job on a memorial piece to honor my father who passed a few years ago. From the initial consult to the completed tattoo, Ben was professional, easy to communicate with and perfectly captured all the elements I wanted in the completed work. He also practices the highest cleanliness and sanitation standards which is appreciated and is second to none. Bens staff were also very helpful and prompt in their communication with me.I have several other tattoos and this last one was my first from Ben. It is my favorite by far. I highly recommend Ben and his staff for all body art. Ben has done the tattoo industry proud!

For my first tattoo my wife searched for a long time to find something Id like. For Christmas I was gifted a certificate towards the cost of a tattoo from Archetype. She told me about Aldo and I looked at his work and found some I liked that seemed like what I wanted. I get him for the consultation, got pricing and discussed what I wanted. I had no idea on that day just how perfectly he would come to execute it. Aldo was a consummate professional. He created a laid back environment with a sense that I was in great hands. I was unsure of what to expect getting my first ever tattoo, and for someone whos put it off for years because I never thought Id find one I liked to put it on me forever, Aldo made it happen and Im sure Ill be coming back to him for more.

Carlos took good care in his work, which I am very satisfied. This tattoo represents my 3 granddaughters and myself, and I am very pleased with his work. I am definitely going to Carlos in the near future to get some more work done!! 😊

I came from Oregon to get tattooed by Chelsey Moore. I had a great experience, love the shop, and had honestly forgotten what it was like getting tattooed at a shop as opposed to a convention. I watched a movie and the last 2 episodes of my favorite show during my appointment. You cant do that at a convention. I will definitely be back next year. I love this place. Everyone in the shop was super friendly too.

I got my 3rd tattoo here in 2019 and when I walked in they welcomed me and asked me what I was looking for. At that time I wanted to find an artist that did nice single black ink work. They had books with all the artist and their work and let me look through them to see which one I wanted to do my design, and told me if I had any questions just ask.Not knowing what the design was at that time, I chose an artist that I liked. Carlos. Months later I went back with my custom design, he gave me a price and I set up the date to come in.Next time I went in I got the work done and because of what the meaning of the tattoo was about...it was emotional for me to see the work completed. He did a great job and I knew I found a good artist to do my next and future tattoos.Here it is 5 years later and once again another meaningful tattoo design and he put it together perfectly.Carlos is a good artist who will take the time to listen to your ideas, makes you feel comfortable and draw out a design that fits.Prices are good, place is always clean, staff is friendly, they have drinks and snacks, and movies for you to watch while getting your tattoo….Just watched Creed III, it was good!

I got my first ever tattoo at age 51 with Eddie. I had never even been in a tattoo shop before, so this was a whole new experience for me. Eddie was fabulous! I had taken an appointment from a cancellation, so he had a short turn-around time on my design, but he did an awesome job. I was tattooed by Meghan in January of 2020. She was kind, patient, and very knowledgeable with me through the whole process. She made the session fun, with lots of mirth and good humor. She offered me breaks, water, and numbing cream.The shop itself was so clean and well spaced. The receptionist was very warm and welcoming. The camaraderie between the artist was obvious and it made me feel comfortable.The tattoo I received exceeded all my hopes. I will not share at this time because it is still healing but their website has great images.

I went to Archetype to get a tattoo redone. The receptionist was very kind, polite and courteous when she received me through the security door and checked me in! I talked to Carlos and he was likewise very kind, polite and courteous as we were figuring out the size I wanted my tattoo to be. I let him know that I was looking for a bold tattoo with color that would stick because it was on the bottom of my foot and it is easy for tattoos to fade and come out of that area of the skin. Carlos obliged and did a great job making the lettering I asked for bold and packed with color. I got to view some of Carlos art work in the booth where he worked on my tattoo, and he politely answered questions about it even while he was working! The team made me feel at ease and confident in their ability as artists. The price was reasonable for a quality tattoo, in my opinion. All in all, Im very happy with my experience at Archetype and thats where Im going for my next tattoo! Cheers!

I was very pleased with my experience at Archetype. I had a tattoo done by Meghan. She was extremely talented, kind, and professional. When I seemed uncomfortable, she made sure to check in on me and other staff members offered to bring me water, tissues, etc. Im extremely happy with the work I had done and will be going back again for my next one! The restrooms and work stations were all clean and well-kept. All of the staff seemed to have nice, friendly relationships with each other and I noticed how often they would walk around to encourage or compliment each others work. It was a very cool environment and I would highly recommend giving them a try for your next tattoo.

Got my tattoo with Eddie. He drew a great design, and made me feel comfortable through the whole process. It was a memorial tattoo for my dad, and so far my only “visible” ink. He did a fantastic job, and I’m proud to show it off!

Meghan is super talented! She took all of the ideas I had and nailed the design on the first try. She also made sure it was flattering and contoured my body. It turned out even better than expected and I absolutely love it! It was a 4-hour session and she kept the conversation going the entire time. I was also very comfortable with her, and with it being a sternum tattoo, that was very important to me. I will definitely be returning in the future!

Eddie is the best. The best at design, the best at color choice, the best at doing hebrew lettering, and shading. This is my second tattoo with Eddie and he never disappoints. Archetype Tattoos check in process made me feel safe in these times of pandemic. Everyone was masked and everything was clean and welcoming. The complimentary snacks and drinks were a nice touch. Chelsey did a great job on my tattoo, even tweaking the design we had already agreed upon to fit my changing vision of it. She is a talented, detail oriented artist, with a light and steady hand. And, shes fun to hang out with, so along with her artistry the pain all worth it!

The place itself is super clean and open and everyone that I interacted with was courteous and professional. Now for Aldo who was my tattoo artist he deserves 6 stars! Not only do I absolutely love my tattoo he also worked on my other two friends that day. There were some timing issues but considering that he only does one tattoo a day and he worked on the three of us thats completely understandable, he even stayed late to get us all in! I am extremely appreciative for all that he did for us and the astounding work that he was able to do. I will definitely be going back for more work by him!

Meghan is awesome!! She has done two pieces for me so far, and she has been fantastic to work with! Both times she created a design that I loved, and both came out even better than I expected. Shes super talented and also fun to be around which is important when youre spending hours with someone lol. This place is awesome! The shop is really nice, very soothing and beautiful aesthetics. I had the pleasure of working with Meghan, who is an incredible artist. Im the type that gives a basic idea of what I want, and then allow the artist to do (kind of) whatever they want. Meghan checked all the boxes - asked me about my other tattoos, took pictures of everything else I had, and then drew me up something that was her own take on what I had going on. The piece she put on me is a very welcome addition to the few that I already have. Ive very glad to have chosen Archetype and I will be back.

Ben and the staff at Archetype were great! The location is awesome and extremely clean and everybody is very nice. Ben takes a lot of time and goes back and forth with you to make sure you are getting what you generally had in mind. Eddie is the best, I have had several tattoos done by Eddie and plan several more in the future. This was my first tattoo and I was unsure what to expect. I decided on Archetype based on previous reviews. Now I can see why so many people like this place. I initially made contact online and they are quick to respond. I was able to get an appointment very quickly. The studio has a friendly and calm atmosphere. Carlos made sure I was comfortable and answered all my questions. He was professional and did a beautiful job. I absolutely LOVE my tattoo. It was just what I wanted!

Ive been going here just over a year and I am definitely happy with my pieces and the tons of compliments Ive received as well. I came here as a walk in after years having them recommended by friends and I was happy to get Carlos Cordova to do my first piece and I havent went to anyone else since. She’s an extremely talented artist - she created an amazing neo-traditional leg piece for me based on ideas and photos I brought in (and with no artistic inclination of my own to share). Its a busy shop so you may have to wait a little while to get in for an appointment but it will be well worth the wait. Ben Shaw did my piece and it came out even better than I imagined. Super friendly and knowledgeable about his craft. You might just get a history lesson while youre sitting with him too! He does very clean work and tries his best to make sure youre as comfortable as you can be. Chelsey Moore did a piece for my wife. Dont let the word apprentice scare you away from her. This studio is great! I got my first tattoo while my wife and I were on vacation. Everyone we talked to was nice and helpful. Meghan, our artist was especially rad and also gave us some killer dinner recommendations. The shop is very clean. I can’t compare it to other shops but even the bathroom was very clean! They also focus on keeping the tools and the body part clean. They also provided an aftercare kit and we got suckers for not crying. I wish my doctor was this nice!If we are back in Albuquerque we will be back here for more artwork!

If I could give ten stars i would, Meghan is one of my favorite artists. Ive gone to different people for each of my tattoos but my second appointment with her couldnt come soon enough. The staff here is phenomenal to say the least. Very friendly, clean and a great group of talented artists.

I can only speak about Chelsey and Carlos work. Ive had two pieces done by Chelsey (scheduled for a third in June 2021) and Carlos just did my wife and daughters tattoos. Both do great work. We have all found our artists. No need to go anywhere else. Highly recommended.

Saw Eddie for my first tattoo recently. He did amazing work - the tattoo is an image from an old 60s picture book, lots of detail and pretty psychedelic. The whole experience was enjoyable - Eddie is a gifted professional and the tattoo came out great!

Chelsey is amazing! This was only my second tattoo, so I still had newbie jitters. Chelsey made me feel so comfortable — easy/fun to talk to and literally checked on me to see how I was doing with the pain and positioning of my arm. Amazing people. They were super friendly and best of all very professional which you don’t find as much these days. Aldo did a beyond expectations job with my tattoo. Shes friendly, quirky, fun, and extremely professional all in one. Tattoos ive gotten have healed great, look great, and were done great. Whats cool about this girl is the fact that even if it is out of her comfort zone, shell learn how to do it just for you, and she rocks it ! every single time. This girl is amazing at what she does, definitely goes over and beyond for all of her customers. 10/10 would recommend her to ANYONE.

I am older, a grandma, and I got my first tattoo on July 5th with Eddie. He is amazing!!! I created my own design, for the most part, and wanted it to be delicate. It had to be bigger then I wanted but Eddie made it absolutely beautiful. If you want fine lines and delicate work, you need to go to Eddie. You wont be disappointed!

Just got my first tattoo and I couldnt have chosen a better shop to do the work. I decided on a larger piece and Carlos went above and beyond what I expected not only in the sketching but in the work itself. Even though it was a special with special pricing, it is one of the best tattoos I’ve received. Meghan is extremely talented and professional. My fiance and I got matching tattoos done by Carlos at the Tattoo festival at isleta. I highly recommend them!. They super easy to set up appointment. Carol is awesome, very light handed made the tattoo pretty much painless. The recovery process has been 100 times easier and faster than any other tattoos Ive gotten.

Took me a while to find a great tattoo artist and shop. I came across Meghans gallery and that was it. I showed her what I was looking for and love how she put her own touch. I absolutely love my tattoos. She took her time setting up her equipmentv and shop was extremely clean. I will be going back for future tattoos.

I have been here twice for tattoos and they never disappoint! I worked with Eric Shire both times, but all artists there are really nice and amazing. They want to make sure youre as comfortable as possible. Some stations have TVs so you can choose something on Netflix to watch while getting your ink, they also have some couches in the waiting room. All stations have their own cubicle, and this place is extremely clean. I have followed them from their old location to their new. Highly recommend, I wont go anywhere else.

Got my first tattoo at Archetype Tattoo and which was done by Artist Ben Shaw. Ben Shaw made my first experience a pleasant and easy going one. Great studio , very clean and very professional. They adhere to all the safety protocols, especially dealing with COVID-19. When Im ready for my next tattoo I will definitely go back to Archetype Tattoo Studio and has of now will never get any other tattoo at a different studio. I would suggest this studio to any one looking at getting quality ink work done.

I have been going to Carlos at Archetype for several years now and I wont use anyone else. Whenever I get asked where I got my Ink I send people to Archetype. I honestly dont think there is a single artist at this shop that isnt the top of their game. Myself, my mom, and my neice have all had work done with Carlos at this point and the entire staff is beyond friendly, and genuinely so. You guys have good people and Im so grateful for it!

This place is great. It was important for me to find a sanitary tattoo shop where I felt comfortable. And this is the shop! All my tattoos from here are from Carlos. Highly recommended. The shop has a lot of talent and everyone is nice and polite. Its not intimidating at all to get tattooed here if its your first time. And its very clean.

I was there today for a consultation with Meghan, she was super nice and helpful and Im excited to see what she does with my design! Ive been tattooed there before by Eddie, and he was great too. Friendly staff, clean shop and great looking tattoos!

Ben is amazing to work with and a true professional. As our relationship has grown, we now talk about things other than tattoos and advertising, like family and life. Our band (partymachineband.com) had a gig last Saturday and it was one of our members Birthdays, so we decided to get tattoos (why not, right?) Mind you, we are from Dallas, so locating a Tattoo shop, let alone an amazing one was a bit tricky.Meghan greeted us and immediately made us feel at home. Myself, as well as the other girl in our band both got small pieces done by Meghan, who was just as sweet as she could be. She was insanely quick but precise, and gentle. We love our tats and the experience!The Birthday Boy received his first tattoo and the artist took the time to explain the process and the instruments used, as well as put up with all of our questions and hovering- LOL.The Studio was clean, inviting, and comfortable. We had a blast and if we ever make it out that way again we will definitely be stopping by!

Eddie was fantastic!! Best line work I have ever seen. Light hands and great to work with. Could not be happier with my latest tattoo. All of the staff I talked to were friendly and outgoing.

Easy to communicate with Carlos leading up to the tattoo. He did my small tattoos quickly but they look great and was also able to discuss my larger piece I am interested in. Great experience!
