Blacklist Tattoo Parlour Tattoo Shop in Albuquerque

In town for a few days and was looking for advice on touching up an old tattoo. Consulted with Maya and Ben and they were super helpful and in my case indicated that where my tattoo was could be a roll of the dice if I wanted to go over again. They were thoughtful and friendly and were open to the work, but helped me understand that I maybe was better off not doing the touch-up. Much respect, and hope to come back with a new idea for them to bring to life for me one day!

Got a huge back piece that was done in one day. Absolutely amazing tattoo I strongly recommend he took the time to talk to me about what the tattoo would be and what it means gave me directions on what would be best for my body. Ben is an absolutely amazing tattoo artist. Mya got me started and it was pretty much take off after the deposit!

Been working w Ben for almost 8 years! The shop is very well run, extremely clean and focused on customer safety. Ben is always honest and has consideration for customer satisfaction and quality work; he takes his responsibilities seriously. Extremely happy to have found Blacklist!

Great Artists, Amazing People!!! I mainly interacted with Cisco and Maya when I went as a walk-in last week, but everyone in the shop was super kind and they all do some awesome work! Super clean and professional atmosphere, and I’m extremely happy with the new ink from Maya! I highly recommend them, and I’ll definitely be going back for future tattoos!

By far the best tattoo shop I’ve ever been in. Came in for a last minute tattoo idea right off the bat they tried to figure out if they could schedule me in. Which they did, will be returning for more tattoo. Ben is an amazing artist knows what you want with out even asking for anything.

I had a tattoo done by Jarred. I originally wanted it done by Ben but he was booked out, he said the tattoo was very simple and he recommended Jarred. He did one part really well but got VERY sloppy and heavy handed towards the end. The skin was very irritated and the lines are incredibly messy. I already scheduled a cover up by another artist once the skin heals. He has some great art in his portfolio but did not do a good job on mine and it was just line work.He said he was having a really long day AFTER the tattoo. If he was tired it would have been nice if he told me so we could have rescheduled…Just Zoom in…

Their care in cleanliness, health and safety are super apparent - this is the first thing that captured my attention when I first walked in several years ago, and has been consistent and meticulously maintained. Next, I am beyond impressed with the artistic talent. I love that I can share an idea, work through the concept with the artist, discuss the piece and placement honestly with a sounding board rather than a “yes man”, and trust that when I come in to get it done, their creation will be better than what I could’ve imagined. I’m so thankful to Ben and the Blacklist for making these permanent life experiences the best they could possibly be. Y’all have got to check them out! :)

I’ve know Ben for a long time, and have been getting tattooed by him for many years. My wife and I fly back to Burque every year to get into his chair. When it comes to talent, professionalism, and cleanliness, he leads the pack. I cannot recommend Blacklist more, whether you’re getting your first tattoo or are no stranger to the tattoo chair, Ben and his crew have got you taken care of.

They are always super welcoming and amazing at making sure you are okay and comfortable. 10/10 would recommend coming here for your tattoo needs.

Loved my experience at Blacklist recently! I came to the shop to see Juan, whom Ive had work done with at a previous shop and had a great time! The shop was very clean and the staff including the owner were very professional and easy to work with. I had some questions the next day about aftercare on one of my tattoos and the owner talked me through everything and was very helpful! I flew from out of state to get to the shop and I will definitely be returning! Cant stop getting compliments on my tattoos and Juans work!

The owner of Blacklist, Ben, is absolutely amazing to work with. I have a very large leg piece that goes from beneath my knee to my waist. I originally had the piece started by another artist out of state, whom, not only was I disappointed in their work, but they turned out to be a majorly unprofessional creep. I am so glad to have found Ben to finish this work for me. Not only is he making what is there SO much cooler than I could have imagined, hes also covering up the convoluted parts of it that just did nothing to add to the piece.Ben keeps his space immaculately clean, he is incredibly talented, and very professional. He is so much gentler in his touch than the last couple artists I have been to. Before I had work done by him, I was resolved to never get another tattoo after this piece is finished. It only took about 20 minutes on his table for me to reconsider that decision. His work is beautiful, and the most painful parts of being tattooed by Ben feels like the least painful parts of the last person I went to.I am four sessions in right now, with four more on the books. I want to wait until this piece is finished before posting a picture, but once it is, I will post a before and after so yall can see the comparison. I highly recommend Ben and Blacklist if you want to go to a tattoo parlor that fosters caring about you as a client, taking great care in the cleanliness of the space, is committed to using top of the line inks and products, and is super professional in their interactions.

Went with my friend for a tattoo date and Crookaloop hooked it up. I went sun with a very basic tattoo and he took and put a really cool spin on it. This is as my second visit and I will be back. The shop is clean and the music is great. The staff is awesome and made us feel comfortable during our time there. Thanks you guys for making it a great night for us.

I am technologically challenged but had such a great experience with Blacklist Tattoo that I think I’ve figured out how to write a review.I had the pleasure of getting a tattoo this week with their guest artist, Vince, who did an outstanding job for me. All of my contact with the shop, from the original consult, scheduling for the tattoo, communication about the design were all exemplary. Vince and I communicated before hand about the design I wanted and he really listened and came up with what I wanted and some other options that I eventually decided on.The tattoo turned out better than I pictured in my head.The shop was very clean and they went over all of my after care in great detail. An outstanding experience.

I would recommend Blacklist Tattoo to anyone! I stumbled upon Ben’s tattoo insta account and then later went in to discuss an appointment. I’ve had a handful of appointments since. The entire space is impeccably clean and the most professional tattoo studio I’ve personally been to. They always have candy, great music, and a good movie ready for you to pass the time. Josh is great about rescheduling any appointments or just giving you a friendly reminder of your upcoming one. The ONLY possible downfall I can think of was having to schedule my appointments a little ways out in advance, but don’t let that sway you, the quality of the artwork is 100% worth the wait. Ben did a lot of rework to the work I had previously done and we’re in the process of finishing my sleeve. I get complimented on my tattoos DAILY. The artwork really is unmatched in ABQ.

Ben, the owner of the shop, is a first rate tattoo artist. He spends time with his customers, and listens to what they want in terms of their tattoo. He always puts his individual touches on any design you bring him, and they always enhance the original design. He is meticulous while he is tattooing, and the finished tattoo is always sharp and distinctive. Youre guaranteed to get quality work here.

Blacklist is absolutely amazing. 100 stars across the board. Clean shop and friendly faces. I love that everytime I go in with an idea in my head, Ben will elevate it to what it should be. Ive said and if you could maybe add such and such and BAM!!!! Like it was part of the orginal idea, not an after thought. Feeding ideas off each other to execute the perfect piece of ink is an adventure in itself. Always great music and conversations flowing as well. Because of the great reviews for this business, I decided to book an appointment and placed a deposit. I called to reschedule my appointment due to an emergency and also to discuss pricing. I was told the owner would call me and he never did (it has been over two weeks at this point). I am highly disappointed that I never received a call back, especially after placing a deposit. Very unprofessional.

I would not recommend this place to anyone. First the tattoo artist told us he would work with us then when my daughter went in with 140 he told her she didnt have enough money to start the tattoo. That was after a 100 deposit.

It makes a lot of sense when people tell me that they want to take their time in deciding whether or not to get a tattoo, what to get a tattoo of, and who to get tattooed by.Its somewhat of a permanent experience :)I often spend at least a full year before I follow thru with an idea I have for a tattoo. It needs to be something that resonates with me on a deep level as well as have strong ties emotionally, spiritually, and metaphysically. Otherwise theres no way I can justify the pain. 😝Not to mention, having someones art on my body is no laughing matter. I want art that accentuates my life and body, not art that detracts from it.I met Ben (the owner) back in 2009 through a friend that was getting work done by him. I was heavily contemplating getting my first tattoo at the time and Bens work really stood out to me. It was clean, it was precise- the attention to detail was something that really resonated with me.I am beyond grateful to have met Ben as I could have easily handed over my own expression to someone that would not have treated it with as much care and respect as Ben has.Im sure youve seen plenty of tattoo disasters walking around. It can be cringeworthy. So yeah, Bens the exact opposite of that.Ive spent well over 50 hours with Ben having him tattoo different parts of my body; artistically stamping moments in time on areas such as my left leg, my entire chest, my upper back, and my entire right arm. Translating my thoughts, feelings and experiences into a literal and physical opportunity for story telling; all available for me to share with those that truly desire to get to know me.Not only is Bens work exceptional, but his attention to detail and standard of care in his shop is second to none. I greatly appreciate how attentive he is to the cleanliness of his shop to ensure that each of his clients health remains priority #1.I could go on and on about Ben and his work, but let his shop and his work speak for itself.
