Baby is the most wonderful human! I have been seeing them since I was 18 and have always gotten the most beautiful and unique work. Baby did my first professional tattoo and helped me feel as comfortable as possible and now I have 3 by them. They have been absolutely amazing to be around and always so kind and respectful. Get tattooed by baby! Excellent advise as well as follow up by them also

John Howard is hands-down The best artist for the price in the state! I have been going to him regularly for three years now and have lost count on how many pieces he has done. You would be a fool to go anywhere else. He was at Route 66 Fine Line Tattoo before Baby snatched him up. Very clean, relaxing atmosphere very spacious and comfortable. Easy to find shop on a very private gated lot.

I’ve been tattooed by both Baby and John at Holy Fool Tattoo, and they’re both incredible! Baby did an amazing job—quick, precise, and with great vibes thanks to his awesome music taste. The shop is super clean and comfortable.I’m also working on a big tummy piece with John, and he’s just as professional and fun to be around. Super professional shop with some of the sharpest line work and brightest colors I have ever received. Baby was a very light handed artist which made most of work I had done almost painless. I will definitely frequent this artist when I’m in Albuquerque. Highly recommend to anybody looking for great work at a reasonable price.

Baby was too patient to be working with me with how complicated I was. Pitches his professional ideas as an artist to fit how I wanted my ink. His work speaks for themselves and that’s how I found out about him. If you’re looking for an artist that’s flexible with all kinds of ink styles hit him up. Also, John, the other artist in the shop was awesome. I haven’t had some ink done by him. But his work are sick! A welcoming shop and great to work with!

I can’t say enough nice things about John, my regular artist recommendation to see him for a quick tiny walk in tattoo for me and my daughter. Short notice he got us both in and got it done so quickly and the tiny lines are so perfect! My daughter has returned many times for larger projects and I am going for larger projects now as well. Baby is an incredibly talented and kind tattoo artist. He took my idea (peonies on the tops of my shoulders) and made it fit perfect to my body and flow so nicely with my other tattoos. He was sensitive to the fact I was in a lot of pain during the tattoo and made the process easy and broke it down into 3 two hour sessions. I send all my friends to this shop and will be coming back!

Been getting tattooed by John for years, he’s basically done my whole sleeve at this point. John is always super patient and excited to build a tattoo design with me, very conversational (if that’s what you wanna do). I’ve been to places before that make me feel weird about what I’m asking for or when I try to modify the design or size but not John, he’s the real G. Helps me pick placement and think about the longevity of the tattoo. Any idea, anytime, he’s down for it. I’m sad now I like in Brooklyn and he’s too far for me to get tatted on a whim. I’ve been going to Baby since before he opened his shop and I’ve only ever had great experiences. I love coming to Holy Fool. The energy Baby brings is calming and joyful and he’s a great conversationalist. I love how fast he is at tattooing without taking away from the quality of his work. He never got upset if I wanted to change something or place it somewhere else. It’s obvious that he genuinely loves what he does and puts his all into it.

Baby came recommended and when I saw his flash on instagram , I had the opportunity to schedule. He was very kind and ready to get me in the books. I happened to schedule and go during my lunch hour and Baby was extremely efficient, professional and talented. Ive been to some tattoo shops and waited hours after I made an appointment. Baby not only honored the appointment time but was very welcoming! Sometimes hard to come by in the tattoo world. He truly loves what he does and you can feel it there because he is good at it! A true artist. The energy I felt when I walked in was very gentle and chill and it may have to do with his incredible music playlist. Music like Hong Kong Pop and French Jazz??...Whoa, I knew I was in the right place. You will have to schedule a tattoo to find out! Remember, tattooing is an exchange of energy, I was happy to get my new little spider there with Baby. The colors are amazing and so was the whole vibe. I will definitely be back!

I found Baby via social media last year and I was blown away by his art and striking use of color so I figured it was time to add to the collection. We talked about the design ahead of time, he asked questions and listened to what I wanted. Super kind and easy to interact with. When I showed up for the outline, I was blown away by what he came up with. All things considered (this was a knee tattoo), Baby was gentle and delicate. His attention to detail with a fairly complex design and prioritization of his customers comfortability level was something I havent experienced in a while or maybe ever. I saw Baby and got my first tattoos ever! The shop was easy to get to, cozy and clean. He had good and calm energy, very communicative every step of the way to include aftercare. You can tell he loves and cares about his art and clients comfort. Highly recommend!

I’ve been going to baby since 2021! before he had his own place hehehe. since day one i felt extremely comfortable. like soul at zen nothing could go wrong. baby is mega professional and super good at the work he does. you can tell he really enjoys it :) i recently had him finish up a piece i got back in 2019 and - he did an outstanding job. the shading on it is absolutely beautiful and matches the first tat really well. whether it’s me rambling while getting tatted or a silent session, i will always recommend baby. too much love

Baby is an amazing artist and has done almost all of my tattoos. He is very good at making sure his clients are happy and comfortable with his work.  Every time I have sat for a tatto with Baby he has made sure Im happy with placement and size and never tries to convince me to change my vision for the tattoo. His new shop is awesome. It is very clean and comfortable (which is huge for me). He always works with you if you need to make changes to the design and his prices are very reasonable especially for the quality. All in all Im extremely happy with everyone of my tattoos by this awesome artist.

A lot of my tattoos are done by John and I will continue to go to him because he’s such an incredible person and artist. He communicates very well with his clients, from scheduling appointments to getting the design you want. He is not afraid to answer ANY of your questions about tattoo after care. He takes pride in his work and it shows he loves what he does.Though I did not get a tatoo from Baby, when he greeted me upon entering the building, he was friendly and easy to talk to. I absolutely recommend going to Holy Fool for your next tattoo!!!!!!!

Holy Fool Tattoo Club is a great spot to get a tattoo in Albuquerque--its in a nice area of town with lots of parking and a great view of the Sandias (which never hurts lol), and the shop itself is clean, cool, and comfortable, and I felt at ease right away. Baby is one of the best tattoo artists Ive ever had (and I have a lot of tattoos). His attention to detail, friendliness, and pride in his craft made my first cover-up a really great experience, and the piece is one of my favorite tattoos now! Baby gave my my first machine tattoo 4 months ago. He is such a wonderful human to sit with, and has a very calm and beautiful studio. If you’re looking for an artist who isn’t heavy handed i recommend baby, His work is beautiful.

INCREDIBLE! After inquiring about a flash event, Baby was quick to reply with clear directions, and availabilities. Baby made sure I was comfortable throughout the entire process. He’s a great listener, as I’ve noticed I tend to talk more when getting a tattoo. During the healing process, I did have a question which was promptly answered yet again! He’s on it!!! Very happy with how it came out, posting this review only 7 weeks or so into healing, and it looks great. Hopefully, I will be able to get back in the future. You can tell Baby puts great care into his work.

I came to Baby after I saw the tattoos he did on my cousin. I was pleasantly surprised at how much care he put into our session. I wasn’t sure where i wanted my placements to be and he was incredibly patient with me and I never felt rushed. 10/10 experience for me. I’ve never felt so comfortable in a tattooist’s presence. He’s the only one I’ll ever let tattoo my body again!! (also he saved me from getting a mispelled tattoo lol)

Got my second ever tattoo this weekend at Holy Fool Tattoo Club & had a fantastic experience. Baby has made a number of tattoos for me over the past couple of years, and each time I come away feeling more like me than when I walked in. On top of that, he’s just an all around chill guy to spend a few hours with. Baby’s flash is varied, full of traditional designs and pieces that are uniquely his — there is definitely something for everyone. He is also a great collaborator for putting together custom designs. Its always a pleasure to get tattooed by Baby. Not only do I love the final product, but the service was *chefs kiss*. He helped customize and design the most recent piece and was very communicative during the process. He made special accommodations for me so I could be comfortable during my session (accommodations for a chronic illness). He was quick to respond when I had additional questions about aftercare days later and followed up with me on the healing progress.Im not from the ABQ area but I will be coming back for my future tattoos. I feel lucky to have found such a talented and kind artist.In July of this year (2024) I had the privilege of being tattooed by Baby again. He designed this taro plant complete with root and leaves and helped place it to how I wanted. He was so patient with me while tattooing my sternum and upper chest area, which is a notoriously painful spot. He made me feel so comfortable during our session! We had great conversation and I came away not only with this beautiful piece of art, but also with multiple book recommendations and a sense of peace. Thank you for everything, Baby!

This was my first time getting tattooed by Baby, and it was my first larger, full-color tattoo. I had a really amazing experience from first messaging him, to actually going to get the tattoo, to the aftercare process. He’s the first artist I’ve had check up on me afterwards and ask how everything is going with the healing process. I felt super comfortable with him and he’s super easy to talk to!!

Baby has been tattooing me since 2018 and out of the 14 artists I’ve gone to in my life, he is by far my favorite. He is so kind and open to fun ideas while adding his own little twist. He’s sympathetic and always checks in throughout the tattoo to see how I’m feeling and gives lots of reassuring and comforting comments. He’s done my whole left sleeve and we are currently working on a huge piece down the back of my leg. He’s good at small details all the way to large scale pieces. 10/10 would recommend, and have to many friends that have gone to him, and feel so lucky to have met him!

After receiving two tattoos from Baby, I cant recommend him enough.For the first one, he was challenged with covering up an amatuer tribal tattoo on my back that I got 20+ years ago. I told him what I had in mind and he absolutely nailed it.For the second, I only had a vague idea of what I wanted. Baby was understanding, and patiently drew several iterations of a design until I finally made up my mind. He once again nailed it.I cant wait to get my third tattoo from Baby very soon!

I recently got tattooed by Baby during my last trip to ABQ after a ton of positive reviews from friends who live in the area/are from ABQ who have also had work done by him.I asked him to design me a custom piece based on some reference material that I sent in, and he was able to pull the best components from each into a design that Im still over the moon with. He had great suggestions as to size and placement as well, and while Im glad that I took his advice, at no point was he ever pushy or dogmatic with how I should get the work done.The shop itself is super relaxed, exceptionally clean, and full of loads of great art. Hes the only artist there at the moment, so while I personally love a bustling shop, this is also a great choice if the idea of a lot of traffic is something that sounds intimidating or over stimulating.His work came out super clean, hes fast as heck, very professional and went above and beyond to make me feel completely comfortable during my entire session. Hes also super funny and a great conversationalist so bonus points for the ha has. Go get poked already!The first photo is from immediately after the session (about three weeks ago).
