Got a 10 hour cover up yesterday done by Helm and it was such an amazing experience! The staff there is so amazing and welcoming, loved the vibes! Definitely recommend Por Vida to anyone looking to get a tattoo or piercing they are awesome!!

The best tattoo shop in town. The artists there all do amazing work, all the staff are awesome and very nice and helpful. Shout out to Alex , man thank you so much for your amazing talent and work you did on my arm. It means the world to me and means way more then just a tattoo. My sons love it and so do I! Went to Por Vida to get my septum pierced by Jay… it was amazing. He explained everything he was doing AND why. He didnt hesitate to answer all of my questions and gave me great aftercare instructions. Plus, EVERYONE there was super friendly and welcoming. Ill be going back for a few more piercings and some tattoo work. 10 out of 10!!

I have been getting tattooed by Rudy Lopez for almost 10 years this man has done countless hours on me and is truly one the best artists in the state. Always great work and he takes his time and never rushes.

I got tattooed here on my birthday. The piece was really nice but when it was time to do a touch up, the tattoo artist didnt want to respond. Im not sure if its because he didnt click with me. Or maybe i annoyed him because i sent him a few msgs in a week span. (I just really wanted to have my piece finished) But at the end of the day, when you do a piece you need finish it. You should finish your work. The customer service there isnt great. The women at the front desk are gossipy. Even with their own coworkers. Right in front of a customer 🫠. Im sad about it because I really expected more. Now I have a piece that I need someone else to finish because the guy who started it just doesnt want to respond. I did msg 1 other person from that shop to see if they could help me but they never msged me back.

So I had to give these guys a review, even though I’m at the beginning stages of working with them. They came highly recommended by a close friend of over 30 years. I reached out and made contact with them through their website via email. Gave a description of some things I was looking for. I got a reply from them pretty quickly, interested in my tattoo piece, and invited me in to their shop to go over it in person. So far, professional, communicates, and open to freshly drawn new artwork ideas.

Very unprofessional & doesn’t want clients $ unless you’re the homie or you put out. I have mixed reviews and experiences multiple times some better than others at multiple locations. Overall I would never step foot near there again. They make you feel very uncomfortable for asking questions and lack empathy. I understand they own the business at the end of the day but that’s not how you do business.Updates response to Por Vida, I am not talking about Odessa, Tx location actions. I am reviewing your business actions. Which is an accurate representation of my experiences with your shop. So I will not remove it.

I came to Por Vida with half a (poorly done) blackout. Within 10 minutes I was booked and heard.I had a deadline as well, and Bale really stepped in and worked his magic. He lined up the WHOLE arm and made it so sharp!I had a few sessions with Bale, but every part he did came out solid black and beautiful. You can’t even see the tattoos I had before.I am so glad I came to Por Vida. Everyone in the area told me this was the place to go. I am proud of the work on my body now, I’m not ashamed and trying to hide it anymore. It has improved my quality of life.Thank you Bale for making this happen.

Their artist are good, but the pricing is a bit too high. This is Albuquerque, and there are plenty of tattoo artists in this city that are as good or better. The atmosphere is inviting and very comfortable. I havent tried the coffee shop, so I dont have any comments on that.

Their customer service is far below none, and the owner is very arrogant and unprofessional. Not all the artists are bad, but youd feel more comfortable elsewhere. Dont know why this shop is so popular with so many problems.

Got some piercings done here.. my septum piercing was done in the wrong spot, it is towards the bottom of my nose and not the tip. A lip piercing was also done short after, once the swelling went down it was easy to see he missed the mark and I had to take it out. My boyfriend had his ears done at the same time again they are very uneven. I would not recommend anyone get pierced at this shop. However Tattoos are great.

Went in for my very first Tattoo for my birthday and what an experience, my artist TK was very respectful and did a perfect job, the vibe to the place is very chill and relaxing, perfect place to get art done

Customer service is on point, awesome people, the shop is an art museum in itself... must go for anyone from Albuquerque. Tattoo supplies are priced very reasonable

In did not get the same experience as everyone else. Kevin Urban, did a piece on me that I ended up not liking. When I came to him to cover (which i already paid for) it he just avoids and ignore me and its pretty messed up that I WAS walking around for years with this tragedy arts deep lines. Finally I found someone at Premier tattoo and he was confident in the cover up unlike Kevin. My overall experience was dismissive, not friendly, and artists that run from there own work. So disappointing as I was referred to por kids several times.

Terrible place for a child to get pierced at. The owner and employees can’t even show respect in front of a child and think it’s cool to yell and fight in front of a teenager girl. I’m here in response to a video I had seen. I thought I would visit this shop but after seeing how they conduct themselves I will not be bringing my business here.

This IS NOT the same tattoo shop in the viral video you just saw. That shop is located in Odessa - this is not the shop you are looking for. Stop slandering them when you haven’t been there off a video that you’re not fully educated about & find the right shop to be mad at.

How is this shop still open? The owner is unprofessional. The peircer there looks doped up, she is shaking when she tries to peirce. The tools theyre are using looks unsteriled. The city needs to close down this shop.

Great experience both times we have gone. I really trust these artists and appreciate their talent. Love the building and how they use all the space. Very happy with our tattoos

I went in for walk-in Saturday it was a tiny bit confusing but everyone was really friendly and understanding since I had to bring my baby with me. It was kinda expensive but you get what you pay for and everything was really clean. I cant wait to see the new place once its all set up.

I got my first tattoo with @Ov_bby. Amazing service, amazing experience over all the best environment/business. The vibe over all was the best amazing artists with beautiful masterpieces 🤝🫶🏼

If I could rate it with a zero stars I would. My daughter had to be hospitalized becuase she has gotten staff infection from the piercer. It’s insane if I would have known that I would have never taken her to Por Vida. Don’t recommend getting your ears pierced there.

New studio is fantastic! Amazing! Urban takes his time, explains everything. Touched up and outlined a tattoo thats almost 20 years old! The entire shop is immaculate. Very clean, very friendly. I got my second and third tattoo here from Oven and I love it. He made sure to make sure i was okay during the whole process and made sure the design and placement was to my liking. We talked during my tattoos and it helped a lot. I absolutely love my tattoos and am hoping to be back soon!

Id give it zero stars if I could. I tried for so long to go in and get a neck piece done. I paid the deposit for an appointment 2 months out. The artist canceled on my 3 times before I just got my money back and was still to busy to even talk to me when returning the money. I wish they would have handled me better.

I had a sun,a moon and a star on my finger. I lost the most of the moon and the whole star. I didnt want to go back to where i had it done. I ended up at Por Vida. I got my moon back. And a beautiful new set of little stars. My new stars even match the color of some much older star i have. Dude who fixed me up had a super soft hand, knew what he was doing. His lines are super smooth. I cant wait to get a larger piece from him.

I will never go back I thought they were nice at first until the guy during my tattoo started flirting said he would cut my price down if I would go with him to the back room and then he offered me a drink they said theyre drinking alcohol they look like a bunch of ghetto people the tattoo is okay but I will never go back I dont recommend them to anybody.

I didn’t do my research on my tattoo artist, and I regret it I should have because he gave me the first available, and either he was not good at his line work or barely getting started that my tattoo was not completely straight. There are some curves to it when It should have just been just a straight line, so great atmosphere Great people just the work wise that I got was not the best. I heard good things about it but I think if you’re getting a tattoo should always and I mean always do some research. Mike was his name and I had to get it retouch somewhere else.

Found this shop based off a Google review and was incredibly blown away by this place. Its one of the neatest tattoos shops Ive been in. Artwork and flash tattoos cover the 2 story walls! They were able to accommodate 3 of us at once and a 4th the next day. We are all so happy with our work from there. It was a pleasure to hang out for a few hours there!Ill be watching your Insta in hopes you come to the Chicago/Milwaukee area for a convention!

My piercer was AMAZING. Very clean area, station and tools. Very friendly and informative for any 1st timers getting a piercing. My 18yr old was put right to ease. However they lost a star because of the guy at the desk. While he was handling an upset customer well he didnt handle me his in person customer at all! When he got hung up on I said you cant please everyone. He said yea and proceeded to stay on his phone. I had to ask him if I could pay for my piercings.

Got tatted by Oven for Friday the 13th, his work was quick, clean and a comfortable environment. Even with a lot of customers he wrapped my tattoo up and gave me aftercare advice. Will definetly be going back to him, the best

Never felt so rushed. My daughters tongue piercing was not placed correctly. They did everything before I even did anything on the consent form for a minor. Very disappointed. I reached out to the owner and was left on read.

I took my daughter to get her bellybutton pierced and as soon as we walked in we were greeted by a few people that were all very kind, and then we’re called within a few minutes. My daughter loves her piercing so much, and we will be coming back very soon. Thanks

Came in as a walk-in for a tattoo. I was lucky enough to be seen by Oven (such a great person and artist), I showed him a couple of inspo pics and he got to work. He gave me nothing less than what I imagined for my first tattoo. Super happy with the end results and will definitely be coming back in the future! ❤️

Take my money!Ive had work done around Albuquerque over the past 13yr and Im going to be returning here for life. I was drawn in to Por Vida due to their new location, and checking out their work on Insta. Alex (@lilaleh on insta) was able to squeeze me in (both our schedules are crazy busy). I has a design ready to go that needed minor tweaks, and his artistic skill made it truly a great piece. It was extremely affordable, and I truly believe he did the piece in about 1/2 the time most people would be able to.I think a lot of the 1-star reviews here are from people who cant communicate well, and pass that blame onto the shop. The shop is absolutely huge and they have a shocking range of talent. Theyre straightforward and easy to work with.

Oven is the go to in “por vida tatto” , his work is really clean and is always a great experience to work with him , 10/10.

I 1000% do NOT recommend this place for a tattoo. I called ahead of time to see if I needed an appointment, I was told I could come in anytime by the manager. I got there at 4 and was immediately placed with an artist, waited for the artist to finish my stencil. I was kicked out of the chair at 5 because he forgot he had an appointment scheduled. I understood and decided to wait due to this being the only day I could get this done. When he was ready to tattoo me he couldnt place the stencil right and I was suggesting different ways but he just argued. A random guy walking by was able to place the stencil the way I wanted immediately. The whole time the artist was trying to convince me to just schedule an appointment and come back another time because he wanted to drink with the guys walking in and out of the room. Finally got the tattoo done a little after 8, he misspelled a word but thank goodness it was an easy fix. Worst experience Ive had here. I do recommend getting piercings done by Jay. Hes never let me down!

Alex is a true ARTIST! It’s always a good time at the shop. All the artists make you feel comfortable and welcomed. I have had over a handful of tattoos done by Alex over the years. His work speaks for itself… AMAZING! He has the perfect eye for traditional tattoos with extraordinary line work. I was so impressed on how quick and efficient he was. Best spot in ABQ! Highly recommended for all tattoo pieces.

Didnt know this place was in Albuquerque but its massive! I just needed some ink but it looked like they were a one stop shop to get set up as an artist or get work done from one of their army or artists.I kinda wanna go back to see if I can just hang out.

Hell yeah!! I texted My friend and he sent me here. Best barber shop Ive been to in years. My boys hair came out fresh and on point. I really liked the atmosphere. Its was welcoming and visually stimulating. The whole lay out is like a giant art canvas. Ill definitely be by again this time for my beard and most definitely for my boys hair. Came here for some dimple piercings. Can definitely say that the vibe here is great, everyone is pretty friendly, including my piercer who was a super chill guy. The left cheek went great, hardly any pain. However on the right cheek, the bar slipped out of one side before he could screw the ball on. this meant a minute or two of just trying to manipulate the bar back through the hole which was extremely painful. the inside of that right cheek feels significantly different than the left and im just hoping it wont affect healing. aside that, the prices are reasonable and my piercer was very kind, it was just a painful experience, saying that as someone with 17 other piercings that never hurt like that.

Amazing service and quality of work! We wanted Bale to do tattoo and even though he was booked back to back with appointments he squeezed her in and we couldn’t be happier! Loved the handwriting Bale did as he prepared it within 10 minutes just for my daughter. I would recommend going here and will definitely be going back again. Coffee shop excellent as well!!

Recently I had two great experiences at Por Vida. Over 10 years ago I went to Bale for a piece on my back. He did an amazing job. As the years passed it faded so I recently went back to him to touch it up and it looks beautiful again. At that time I asked if he could fix a tribal piece on my side, that I had someone else do. Lines were messed up and I just wasn’t happy. I’m so glad I asked because it looks so amazing and I’m so happy. The lines are perfect and sharp. I will never let anyone else work on me but Bale. He is so talented and professional. He took his time and you can tell he really enjoys tattooing. Everyone was very nice at the shop. Brandon was super nice and helpful with booking an appointment and all my after care questions. I felt very comfortable during my experiences. I can’t wait for Bale to work on me again! I totally recommend this place for quality tattoos.

First appointment here went well. Last one this weekend showed up for scheduled time and they were closed. Reached out to artist 2+ hours before appointment and never got a response. Would think the artists know when their regular business hours are. Long drive from Rio Rancho just to be disappointed for mom and daughter first tattoos together. 🙁

Place looks amazing since its been years since Ive came here when I first got my snake bites. The piercer was friendly and made everything smooth I just got my smiley by them and it was great service. Staff was friendly and outgoing it made me feel comfortable since I was nervous and made me feel right at home. I would recommend these guys and would very welcome come back if I needed anything else pierced thanks so much guys!

Is it normal for the tattoo to look faded after a couple days? Plus this is my first tattoo and they didnt necessarily give me a lot of advice aside from clean it with unscented soap thus 2 stars. Wouldnt get another tattoo from here

Honestly, I got 5 tattoos from a guest artist, who was amazing. However after my guest artist left and I tried to schedule with another artist there, after looking at his portfolio, the professionalism from the other artist was horrible. He would text me back 3 days later still asking questions then disappear again. Guess thats what you can expect from a bunch of aprentist and 21 year olds who have zero respect for what the do and who they represent. The owner is awesome, but Im sure he will be disappointed when he hears how the younger guys he has hired are representing his buisness

Went in to reschedule my appointment for a tattoo and Oven offered to the tattoo right away. He gave me an amazing tattoo at a very good price. He and all the other staff were very friendly and helpful. Would highly recommend.

Never had a tattoo, went in and explained to the dude at the desk, he asked what I was looking for after about 5 minutes of saying what I wanted, and after I asked what artist would be best, he told me to go look at the portfolios and then maybe make an appointment.Im sure the artists here are good, but the place sucks for first time people getting tattoos, they treat you like you should know everything.

The only place I buy my tattoo supplies for my girl, and its always a good experience. plus everytime I go I see more sick collectibles and vintage decorations I didnt notice the last time. and the people are always really helpful and super kind and chill too.

(Update- she did not let us know that there’s a $60 minimum. Obviously I would of not stayed and be complaining. )The first time I went here I had a great experience. No waiting good work and good price. I just went yesterday and I cannot say the same thing. I went with a different artist this time, goes by Oven. He took a long time to get things set up because he was talking a lot with another artist, which I didn’t mind too much. But what really irritated me was how much he charged. I got a simple semicolon tattoo about the size of a quarter and he charged me $60! It literally took him less than 10 mins to do. Last time I came here I got some writing with an arrow and paid $100. That took almost an hour to do. DO NOT go with this artist, it was such a rip off!!!

I love my tattoo and my artist Julio was super patient and amazing. All the guys provided lots of free entertainment chit chat during my sesh.

Bale is awesome, he can really take your ideas and really put a wicked twist on it. I appreciate him and his staff for taking care of me and ensuring I got the tattoo just like I wanted. Great guy, 5/5 would recommend coming here and am definitely coming back for another one!

I was not very familiar with proper care products for tattoos ( I only have 2 tattoos) but that was no problem with Por Vida Tattoo Supply. Very helpful staff as well as the biggest and best variety of products you could ask for. It was very helpful to have someone tell me what I needed and to be able to provide it for me as well. 10/10 recommended.

I thought they were very nice, quick easy piercing and I absolutely love it, the guy was very nice!! For me personally the atmosphere was intimidating, but nontheless I had a good experience :))

Wow what a horrible experience! Wish I could give this zero stars. Just left this place trying to get a simple yin and yang tattoo with my boyfriend with some designs inside. Today is supposedly their walk in day so when we called they said no appointment needed. When we arrived they said it would be a half hour wait. 2 hours later... not even a sketch of the tattoo has been done!! The artist came out to talk to us twice and that’s all we saw of him. We have no idea what he was doing in his room or if he was even working on it. I have a lot of tattoos from 3 different places in Albuquerque and have never had that horrible of service! I understand this is a tattoo place with a general laid back attitude but it’s still a place of business that has customers!

Beaude Blends. The one who works in the barbershop located inside of Por Vida. He is an awful person and I will never ever visit Por Vida Tattoos again until that woman beater is gone and is paying the consequences of his actions. Disgraceful that you people would let someone like that promote your business.

Horrible ink, tattoo faded after a week, was lied to about the price I did a tattoo that’s worth 100 which is what they said and they told me at the end it’s going to be 400 because it’s by the hour which is a scam and the tattoo wasn’t done correctly I really recommend you go to a different place if you want to get real ink done on you. 0/10

Went in for a husband/wife tattoo. Got scheduled for a time. Tattoo for my husband started 1 hr after our consultation. Was told they were trying to get someone else to do my tattoo. After waiting for an extended period of time and after my husbands tattoo, my tattoo wasnt able to get done. So our husband/wife tattoo is not done. Also, our son-in-law was also asking for a small forearm tattoo and he was told it was too big and too much detail and they couldnt do it. Will not go back.

Worse place tattoo I! Once i walked in the guy was rude to me and then he said I couldn’t get the tattoo I wanted and when I showed him another tattoo he was ok with it . And my tattoo came out so ugly like if the person that did it was not all there the lines to my tattoo is all messed up I’m glad it was a little tattoo and not a big one. Never going back to them

I go to oven. But havent heard one bad thing about any of the artists. The place is clean, people are chill and they have a supply store as well.

Bad atmosphere, long wait, unprofessional. The artists are working hourly so theyll attempt to waste time. Got charged 500$ for an ankle tattoo. Most was him just sitting and talking.

Got my first tattoo here, about the size of a nickel and got charged $60 dollars plus tax. Service was good but it was extremely pricey. Some friends that did the same size tattoo went to other locations and charged maximum $30. This made me really disappointed .

Went and I get both daith piercing done went well but as it my piercing started to heal I found out I got pierced with 14 gauge instead of 16 gauge I was told and I asked for surgical steel not to sure if it was surgical steel because I broke out with a reaction and I had to take both them out. Very disappointed

I’ve gotten all of my tattoos done by Helm, great tattoo artist. I highly recommend him! Very clean, good environment, and great work overall.

Went in and walked around for 10 minutes before leaving with nobody asking if I needed help. No one was in the front reception area and there were two guys smoking who appeared to be artists that never bothered asking if I needed help or had questions. Im a native to Albuquerque and I was made to feel like an outcast.

They say walk-in were ok but couldnt get anyone to help us so we went to another place to get a tattoo.

Horrible horrible when trying to speak to the owner he talked down to me when speaking about a simple complaint , he stated that he had proof of signatures when nothing was signed and no paperwork was presented to me . No customer service from the girl at the counter they call nacho . I will never go there again
