True North Tattoos and Piercings

Today I got my helix pierced, and I love it so much!! Kyle did an excellent job with the piercing. It was quick and easy, and they were very understanding about my hesitations. Patient and very kind! The lady at the front counter talked to us for about fifteen minutes and answered all of my questions to her best abilities. I was very grateful! I will definitely come back for all of my next piercings!!!

I was lucky to get the owner Garreth for my walk in experience. He was forward with me and very knowledgeable when it came to configuring my design idea into something that was more practical and could show his talent without it changing over time.The shop is very clean and brand new as they are fresh into a new location. I was happy to be worked on next to Cee as he was very funny and professional, I recommend booking an appointment ahead of time with either him or the owner!The rest of the staff seemed pretty nice. Definitely a busy walk in shop experience, i would get there right when they open to claim a spot in the day. Lots of staff most look young, very interesting conversations with clients which is expected in that atmosphere, and why I go to private shops also.

It was easily the best tattoo experience Ive had. Super friendly and calm environment. Had my tattoo done by Garreth, and I highly recommend getting work done by him. Definitely will be going back.

I love this place. The employees I’ve met have been kind and so helpful. Their shop is decorated with some wicked cool art too! They’re clean and knowledgeable and are quick to answer any questions. I went to a cheaper local place back in February for my first nose piercing and it was pierced at an angle so it wasn’t healing properly. These guys took my bad one out, pierced my other nostril PERFECTLY and it healed nicely. Fast forward to yesterday—I drove to True North spontaneously with my daughter. She got her septum done and I got my other nostril done. Again, they did a perfect job and were so helpful! They tell you it’s cheaper down the road, and it might be, but you’ll probably go see them to fix the cheaper peoples mistakes! I’ll never go anywhere else again!

The artists here are amazing. My artist-Amanda, went above and beyond her jib title. She listened to my story, my ideas, then took her talent and designed two pieces. I was torn, I chose one and also saved the other for a later time. She was very informative of her preferred method and I was eager to let her have free run. I have never done that before on my previous 12 tattoos. I am not disappointed. She did the black lines first. After they healed, I made an appointment for color. She was booked out two months but because she was as eager as I to finish, she made an appointment on her day off for me. First session was 5 hours, second was almost 8 hrs. I am more than satisfied with my tattoo. I can’t put in words what this means for me. It is a special piece. Something I had been working on for over a year in my head. She mastered it.Her boss and co- workers are equally talented. Each one has their own unique expression. There are piercers here as well who know what they’re doing. Safe. Sanitary. Comfortable. Worth every dollar know matter how much you spend. Walk ins are welcome- worth the wait in line. I will be using only this shop for all my future ink work.

Today was my first experience at True North and it was awesome. Clean shop, great artists and nice open floor plan. My artist was my buddy James Amsden and he did a incredible job as usual. Were currently working on a full back piece.

What can I say about True North, that it was worth the wait! My mom and I decided to check them out for a walk in piercing and some jewelry. There were some people waiting ahead of us so we decided to grab a bite to eat and then come back. The atmosphere, laughter amongst the tattoo artist and reception really made our experience. Angelina was AMAZING. Very professional, clean and efficient. She made me feel comfortable and told me everything about the process. I hope to be back, with a plan for my next tattoo 😉

Awesome place 10/10 recommend! My friends and I went last night we loved it so much! Super professional and super nice including everyone that works there. Everyone is knowledgeable. LENA was absolutely amazing. She made me feel so comfortable and gave the best after care advice as well. She made sure I was feel great after, and made sure to not rush you out. I had my ears pierced by Leena yesterday and she did a phenomenal job! They are PERFECTLY symmetrical, which was a huge concern of mine. She took the time to hear me out and had a calming demeanor. She was just a natural! Everyone at the shop was super friendly, kind, and helpful as well. Thank you so much!

G (Garreth) is a super sweet down to earth guy. I was in search of a good artist and shop that had some rather quick openings for my spur of the moment desire for new ink. G happened to be the only tattoo artist in the shop as all his people were at a convention. Super solid work, fast, clean and was awesome talking with him.Zach is my new go to for piercings. I had my nipples pierced wrong (too deep and crooked). After many years of babying them I took them out. I let them heal for 5 years before deciding to trust someone. After searching everywhere in Maine and asking for references everyone of course recommended a place I already knew of. Zach was so patient as mentally I was preparing myself for the expected pain I had the first time and being nervous. He talked me through the process, made me feel comfortable and honestly it was one of the least painful piercings I’ve gotten and I have a lot. I’ve been raving about my experience ever since.All of the staff was actually super nice and welcoming. I absolutely live for the new shop, so happy to see True North flourishing. Proud of you G, thanks for having a top notch shop.

Just got My belly button pierced here today. Everyone was super nice and made me feel comfortable. They were helpful with me being indecisive lol. Me and my friend both got ours done and both times he poked the needle into our skin after putting it through the belly button and before putting the cork on. You can see in the picture. He apologized but for paying $50 for this to happen makes me a little annoyed.

Went to true north hoping to get a tattoo that I really wanted and was my first time going so I had no idea what to expect. I got Amanda and she made my experience awesome! Brought my idea to life and it came out amazing ! Would recommend anyone to go to true north, great environment and great people!!

It is a great place to get your tattoo and piercing needs done. Very clean and professional,If this place ever offers a job to you, I suggest you should run the other way. This is speaking from experience and learned the hard way, along with many others who were once employed.

I had an excellent experience during my piercing session. The facility is clean and professional even during a very personal piercing. The staff was friendly and helpful and I will definitely be using this business in the future for not only my piercings but also any tattoos I need.

I had a nose piercing done and I am totally pleased with it. Zach was patient, professional and personable. I would recommend True North to anyone looking for a piercing who is nervous and older than most.

I had a 40 year old wolf tattoo redone by Amanda , and what an incredible job she did. Everyone that has seen it was shocked at what a beautiful transformation to such a detailed wolf that it is now , so life like !I love it ! I did a walk-in tattoo service and was not given a consent form, only the form detailing what I wanted. The artist did not seem to look at the reference and freehanded the tattoo instead of using a stencil. When I emailed the shop later on June 14 I did not and still have not received a response. The tattoo is very small and cost $166 with a $50 deposit. I do not believe it should have cost this much but unfortunately there is no pricing on the website so I was unable to know how much it would cost. I was told around $120 by the artist, not $166.

I got a tattoo cover up from Gada and OMG its beyond my expectations! Im so glad our paths crossed because she definitely delivered 10/10 🙌💕 The shop is clean and the staff are friendly, I will definitely be back:)

Leo was absolutely amazing and so accommodating. He was so light handed to where it was a joyful and not a painful experience. Will definitely be returning to get another tattoo by him.

These tattoos were done by Kobeigh Cote, and I have nothing but great things to say. We love love LOVE the tattoos!! I had a great time with Kobeigh, she was very friendly and super respectful. She answered all of my questions in detail and never made me feel uncomfortable to ask them! We joked around and had great conversation and she just made me feel very safe. If I could give more stars I 100% would. She is an amazing artist and tattooer(is that’s even a word); she made sure to check in with how I was doing, made sure my position was ok, and was very attentive to my comfort. I will definitely, no doubt, be going back for more ink from her!!

What can I say? True North is nothing short of impeccable when it comes to tattooing and piercing. They are quite frankly the only company I will use when it comes to my tattoos. They have amazing artists that work with you to make your dreams and artwork come to life. They are clean, professional, and quite frankly a life of a party kind of style. I’ve been tattooed by three different artists, since starting my tattoo journey and each time same results, the love of the artwork and clean tattoos. 10/10 would recommend.

The staff is very welcoming and it is very clean.They are pretty cautious with it being during a pandemic. Chill staff and didn’t take too long to get my piercing done. not many options for jewelry when i went and what jewelry they did have was mostly expensive(for me at-least, 50 bucks for their recommended jewelry in addition to the actual charge for the piercing) and not much for masculine styles. they did have some cheaper options though so don’t rule it out and maybe check what they have for jewelry before you go for it.

I had a wonderful experience with them today they all were so nice and we all had some great laughs they did amazing on mine and my friends tattoo today! I will definitely be back!

I saw Amanda and OMG! She is amazing and her work is beautiful 😍 I had a very dark and large peice I needed covered and she made it disappear! Im in love with my new tattoo 💛 I cant figure out how to post photos to this review 😟

I’ve been here multiple times, and every time I have a great experience. Staff is incredibly kind and friendly, as well as very knowledgeable. I’ve been pierced here as well as had jewelry changes. The jewelry is amazing and when getting pierced, I felt safe, secure and that the staff payed attention to me in case I didn’t feel well, as well as being patient. Clean, professional, and the place (previously and now where they currently moved) is beautifully decorated and organized. I recommend this place to everyone I know. I live over an hour away and will still drive all the way to get the kind of service I get here!

I had Leo do some work for me, and all I can say is he did fantastic. If you’re looking for any tattoos this is the shop to go to.

Absolutely amazing, I’ve gotten 7 piercings from here, they’ve all healed amazingly and perfect. I refuse to go anywhere else for piercings, all little to no pain, I couldn’t recommend a better place!!!

Got a tattoo by Kobeigh (APPRENTICE), tattoo looked nothing like the reference photo, which usually is not a big deal, but the tattoo I was given looks drastically odd (color wise). While being tattooed, the reference picture was not being used, which clearly shows lack attention to close detail. Something else that caught my attention was that she wrapped my tattoo before I could even look in the mirror to see it. I’m completely unsatisfied with my tattoo from true north and if you or anyone you know plans to go there in the future, don’t!

I had heard about True North from a friend who had gotten several tattoos there last year. They recommended it to me since I was looking for a place that would do the design I had already created. All I can say is that not only does True North have a very welcoming and professional atmosphere, but the people who work there are equally if not more wonderful. As someone who was getting their first tattoo, I was fairly nervous, but Amanda (@something_lasting on Instagram) did an awesome job of explaining everything as she worked on my arm. If youre looking for a place to get that next tattoo, Id definitely suggest looking at True North.

They have a great selection of jewelry for piercings, Ive always had a great experience for each piercing Ive gotten. The owner did my lily of the valley tattoo and its still looking fantastic 7 months later

Beautiful place with super nice people! I got my first facial piercing there a while ago by Libby and she was super sweet, informative, and professional. I love my new piercing and it has healed wonderfully.Update because Google maps told me to; Still amazing!! I now have 3 facial piercings, another from Libby and one from Leva(I believe Im spelling their name and I apologize for that) and I love all of them! Theyre super cute and small so if anyone is debating it worried about noticibility know that thats super customizable! 10/10 experience 100%

I came in looking to get a tattoo for my grandfather who passed. I gave the artist my drawing and told him multiple times what I wanted and I come home and found out he missed a 0 in the lettering I gave him, and I got a small tree tattoo. $200!!! With a $50 deposit. NOT HAPPY!!

Rude in person, rude over the phone and will not make you an appointment.They expect you to drive there (im an hour away) and wait an undisclosed amount of time even for a quick, little piece like a word tat.

Had the last walk in tattoo of the night last night, kobeigh did an amazing job and her, ella and Kyle were so funny. Great pricing, clean cute shop, friendly and helpful staff. Stayed up way to late figuring out what I want for another walk in 🤣Thanks guys!

Ive gotten all three of my tattoos done here and theyre so fantastic and wonderful, they have an extremely clean shop and everyone there puts in a lot of work for their clients to make sure they leave with something cool and suited for them! I just got one done by Rob and he did a phenomenal job understanding the basis of what I wanted and then making it so much more cool then what I had in mind, plus he made sure I was comfortable and ok the entire time! So if you want to get something done I highly recommend seeing everyone there!

Got my first tattoo here. The people that work there were very patient with me and answered all of my questions/ concerns. Its a very calming, down to earth environment which definitely helped calm my nerves. Cleaner than other places Id checked out too. My tattoo turned out amazing and with no healing issues.

I have gotten two simple black tattoos here and both tattoos healed patchy and uneven. The color isnt solid and they look bad. Ive gotten many tattoos from other places and this one is certainly the worst place Ive gotten them done

Amazing place! My 5 year old daughter was excited but apprehensive to get her first ear piercing. Angelina showed so much patience and kindness to her. Her explanations were very thorough.The whole staff was so kind, welcoming and knowledgeable. Well be back!

I took my 15 year old daughter to get her 2nd lobe piercing. The gentleman that helped us was very professional and super nice. Ill definitely be going back. He even suggested we let her first lobe piercing heal, we got done with a piercing gun because we didnt know any better. He said let it heal and come back and he could redo it but make it more straight. Id highly recommend them. I drove an hour each way to get there and Ill be doing it again for sure

This was my first and most likely only piercing. The staff were knowledgeable, kind and informative. I was a mid day walk-in, and the wait time was minimal. I worked with Kyle, super easy going and experienced. The actual piercing took less than 15 minutes and was virtually painless. This is a local business worth checking out! 💯

I’d absolutely recommend getting a piercing here!! Kyle and Angelina are so sweet and they both explain the process so well, and I’d absolutely recommend either of them. The tattoos however, I don’t recommend. Especially not a walk-in, and especially not from Steve. I went in about a week ago for a fairly simple forearm tattoo, it was my first tattoo so I was excited and inexperienced. I asked him to refine the design I gave him and make some shapes, I got card symbols near the top, symmetrical. His lines were messy, the shapes are off and misshapen, and the entire reason I’m making this review is that he didn’t even bother to shave my arm beforehand. I’m going to have to get it fixed after it heals, and I have to be incredibly careful with aftercare because the hairy parts of my arm are more sensitive to infection. I can’t believe he said he’d had 8 years of experience, it’s honestly almost laughingly bad. But all in all! Absolutely amazing piercings, and if you get a tattoo I’d suggest making an appointment and not with Steve.

I have social anxiety and have a hard time going to places by myself. But i needed jewelry removed for a surgery i have coming up. Thats all I went in for, but Devin and Kyle were super helpful and friendly, and it made me feel more comfortable being there by myself. I very much appreciate them and their friendliness

Ive gotten all of my piercings here and as of yesterday, my first professional tattoo! Steve was great to me, and every time Ive been pierced, they were very nice and professional. Aftercare instructions have always been super useful and reliable. The interior design is also sick.

I always recommended this place I have a ton of friends who want to get there nose pierced, and I got mine done her like 3 years ago but It was very pleasant and clean. I personally am scared to needles but the staff was very friendly and understanding. 10/10

My daughter and i were repeat customers. The piercing artists are amazing. Theyre incredibly patient. They take the time to explain the procedure to you and go at your pace. They make sure that you are OK and comfortable before, during and after your piercing. Ive been before and will continue to go back and referthem to others. Maybe someday Ill get to try their tattoo artists work 😀

The new store is really much nicer. My daughter went in to get her earlobes re-pierced and they were charging $80! I just saw that was unbelievable her holes were still there so I was credited back $30.

Got two Conch piercings, and I got pierced by Kyle. Id recommend him as he was professional, very friendly and helped me feel comfortable during the entire process. :) Definitely coming back for my next piercings.

Kolbeigh and Angelina and Kyle are amazing! I received an amazing septum piercing from Kyle and it was great! I have had a few piercings done by Angelina which was also super awesome! Kolbeigh recently did a walk-in bee tattoo on me that came out amazing and I constantly get asked on who did it and completed. By far my favorite piece! I had an okay experience with Garth the environment was chill and he was chill, however I was not really impressed by the line work on my tattoo I received by him. Not horrible, just not the greatest! Much love to True North and they will always be my go to shop and one I recommend to everyone who ask.

Angelina pierced my nose there a couple weeks ago and I have to say I had the BEST experience I’ve ever had with a tattoo shop and artist. She made me feel super comfortable and talked me through everything and had such an amazing energy. My nose piercing is not even sensitive at two weeks (I clean it morning and night) but her technique is perfect! 10/10 suggest.

There’s much better places out there. A nice place with big staff doesn’t always mean better. They aren’t ever busy for a reason. A good tattoo place doesn’t need to take walk ins. .

I was nervous to go in for some new ear piercings but Angelina was perfect! She was so welcoming and calm. She didn’t do anything without explaining everything to me clearly and making sure I was ready for it. Super professional and kind. Now I’m excited to go back for a few more and will make sure she’s working when I do.

Brought my daughter here today, 1/17/22 morning walk in. My daughter had Angelina for her nose piercer. Angelina was awesome, not only was she professional, but she was very sweet, and calming, making it a comfortable experience. The business is well kept and clean. Highly recommend!

Angelina did great on both my boyfriends and my septum piercing! She made us both feel comfortable and was patient with my nervousness. We were able to upgrade our jewelry and choose what we wanted to be initially pierced with which I was really happy to be able to do! Both our piercings look great and we love them!

ANGELINA IS THE BEST PIERCER!!!! I seriously will not go to any other piercer. I have gotten 8/11 of my piercings from her and could not have had a better experience. Lexx did my tattoo as a walk in and it was completely worth the wait. He did an amazing job on it and is an amazing artist. It was a great atmosphere and was very clean and professional. I would highly recommend and I am already planning my next tattoo.

We had my 6yr old daughters ears pierced here and it was a great experience. They explained to her what they were doing and the tools they were using and what she would feel. Even the simple stuff like this is the qtip and cleaning stuff its going to be cold. They gave her a squishmellow to hold she thought that was great. She also got to pick from a large selection of different studs. They were awesome!

I am not satisfied with the customer service I received at Point North Tattoo in Augusta. I had two tattoos done approximately three weeks ago at a cost of $300.00. I was told if I was not happy with the results to come back and he would touch them up for free. There were a couple areas that were smudged and already faded. I returned to Point North this morning to inquire about having the touchups done. I was told that the person who did my tattoos no longer worked there-he either quit or was fired. When I asked if someone else could do the touchups, I was told it would cost $100.00 per tattoo to fix. This was NOT what I was told when the tattoos were done-I was told touchups were free. I became upset and left. In my opinion, this business should honor the agreement that was made when I had the tattoos done. I should not be penalized because their employee no longer works there. In my opinion, the tattoo work is inferior and customerservice is poor. I would not recommend this business.UPDATE: After I posted my review, the owner contacted me and offered to fix the tattoos at no charge. I went in today and the owner fixed the tattoos and was very nice about it. The matter has been resolved to my satisfaction.

Angelina was absolutely Amazing!! So professional and caring. She makes you feel comfortable the minute you walk in the door. She was spot on when I told her what I wanted. She did an awesome job explaining after care instructions , very professional. I can’t wait to go back and see her again!

Walk in tattoos are Misleading. To Complain about a Client , in front of that client to other clients is just not a desirable establishment/ environment I feel comfortable in. Non the less to be expected to be knowledgeable about everything to do with a tattoo by a tattooist . Everything is done by a cellphone device, not desirable in the least very Stressful. I try to be understanding. But not good etiquette in the least. Just stop advertising Walk Inns. Totally misleading. Honestly really did like this place and was excited to go there for service again until this experience, sadly will not return & traveled far. Maybe display information on how your shop works so people understand and they arent expected to know.

I brought my daughter in to get her nose pierced for her 16th birthday. We were greeted by a very friendly man who made it a point to acknowledge us even while helping another customer and then getting us set up for the appointment super quick. We were a walk-in appointment and must have been in and out in 15-20 minutes. Fallon did the piercing and was so sweet and friendly, keeping my daughter calm and talking her through the process. She explained the after care thoroughly and answered any questions. Would 10/10 ABSOLUTELY recommend.

My daughter and I wanted a unique design and had something in our minds but no complete images. We gave Sarah pieces of what we wanted plus a picture I took. She designed a beautiful camp and mountain scene. She was incredible with her artistry and gave us exactly what we had in our minds. Waited to write the review to see how we healed. No issues at all. She is great!

I’ve been going to true north ever since I moved into the area a little over a year ago now, their inventory for jewelry is unmatched. The piercers are up to date on the most current techniques and are extremely knowledgeable. My first experience with Ang was when I had an embedded conch hoop with some mystery metal. After she pried it out my ear. I swore I would never go anywhere else. Ang is my go to piercer at at True North. She is incredibly humble and really care’s about your experience and what will be the best for your lifestyle and anatomy. For a lot of people piercings/jewelry and tattoos are big part of people’s confidence/lives. True north gets it and they CARE. They don’t just want your money and send you on their way. They are like another family that understands your passion and will help any way that they can.

I was looking for someone to peirce my daughters ears and couldnt be more pleased that we found Angelina at True North. Wonderful person! Wonderful job! Very fairly priced and lots of amazing options.

Don’t recommend if you want a tattoo. I reached out over Instagram to get a tattoo of my grandmother’s handwriting on the anniversary of her passing. I tried to make an appointment and they said to come in anytime because they’d do a walk in tattoo. I went in the morning on the day I wanted it done and they didn’t have availability until much later in the day when I wasn’t available. It was hard to even get a timeframe for availability that day from the receptionist. It’s weird that they wouldn’t take an appointment. I would have saved 3 hours of driving time had I known it was hard to go through them.

I went to True North to get a piercing replaced after it had fallen out. My piercer, Kyle, explained the process to me that it would not need repierced, just tapered open again. Which he was able to do with little issue and my eyebrow was once again double-pierced. All in all it seems like a clean, well maintained tattoo and piercing shop. Its a bonus also that walk ins are accepted. 10/10 for their piercer(s), cant speak on the tat side, yet.

I had called this shop the morning of 12/29 to inquire about nipple piercing. The person who answered gave me general information and I decided to stop in that after noon as it was by walk in.I arrived about 2pm and the shop was busy. I filled out the required form and asked if the piercer could take a look to ensure that there would be no issues with me getting pierced as I had been pierced several times.I waited about 45 minutes, the shop was busy, and finally my name was called. The piercer was very sweet and apologetic for the wait but also informed me that she did not do nipple piercings on men. I was completely dumbfounded. I let her know that I just waited an extended time to then be told sorry we cant provide you the service you wanted.She stated that the person at the counter was sick and should have communicated that to me. I stated she didnt. I was so frustrated that my time was completely wasted.Whoever is manning the front desk at any establishment should know these types of details as to provide the best service possible to prospective clients. Also, the person at the desk before the shift change happened should be better trained. She had the personality of a wet sponge. I have had to work while not feeling well and you make it work.I was also looking for a tattoo as well (not on the same visit) and thought this might be the place to get both my needs met. However, after this initial experience I would not return.

Amanda did my tattoo for a walk-in and did an amazing job! She was so friendly and nailed exactly what I wanted! Absolutely obsessed with my tattoo and will be going back for another one!

Got a double conch here at True North by Kyle. I got to pick out my own cute piercing safe jewelry to have it pierced with, which was a nice bonus you don’t get everywhere. Kyle was fantastic. It was over before I knew it. He lined it up perfectly for the stack in my ear. Could not ask for a better experience. Thanks Kyle and Callie!

I would not recommend this place for anyone specifically people of color. We drove an hour to get here to be told that we needed my daughters birth certificate because she is under 18 so since we drove an hour to get here thats total of two hours both ways. we waited until the following week to come back. As we get here with the birth certificate the guy at the receptionists desk then tells us that they may not be able to pierce her because she isn’t 16 and it’s a septum.I told him that when we came in last week they told us all we needed was her birth certificate, he then asks us for proof of adoption papers or proof that she is my child mind you she is biracial like WHAT!???? I had her social security, birth certificate and school identification As I’m looking at him in disbelief in shock he says that if we don’t have same last names she would need proof she is my daughter. Never have I dealt with such inconsistencies or unorganized people. You all should be on the same page here. If I could give 0 stars I would. Worst experience ever and my daughters feeling were definitely hurt when he asked for adoption papers…SMH

While the staff is nice and the place is sterile, I wouldnt recommend going there for piercings.Both of my piercings fell out within 24 hours. One of them swelled so much that a bigger bar had to be put in. I understand theyre a business and need to make money, but they charged me an additional $20 to change out the jewelry.They really need to update their refund policy on piercings.

Got my septum done here, n it healed perfectly. walk-in, not too pricey (tho there is cheaper, but its worth the few extra bucks for the quality imo), clean, and friendly. totally recommend

Drama between coworkers is almost always obvious (From either not liking each other, dating/talking to eachother or clients). There is a good chance that your peircing will fall out so make sure to CONSISTENTLY check (ball or not).HAVE GONE MULTIPLE TIMES. THEY ARE FIRING ALL GOOD PEOPLE. THEY ARE NOT GETTING A PENNY FROM ME NOW AFTER SPENDING WELL OVER 600$

When I came in for my consultation I showed the person at the desk my idea and they actually took time talked with some other and actually thought about who would be a good artist to work with (Obviously theyre all good more so thinking whos style suited the idea and who would enjoy the work) I got an IT themed tattoo done by Woody this was a concept Ive had for years and was super dedicated to but was welcome to ideas when I came in for my appointment I was in awe because he was able to incorporate everything I wanted staying close to my original idea but added some details that made me love it even more. Everyone there was so kind and they made my first tattoo such an amazing experience totally coming back here for future tattoos.

Stopped in for a nose piercing with Fallon, she was incredible. She answered all my questions and offered up long term support for the healing process. Clean and professional!! Did I mention she had a great selection of jewelry?!? 10/10 will see her for all future work!!

Went here TWICE for my double eyebrow piercing (by Fallon) and both times it was done completely wrong. It got infected and eventually just fell out leaving a permanent scar. I tried to message them about this on Facebook only to be completely IGNORED. Also hideous personalities at the counter from quarter-dressed women who treat you like a neusance. Dont go here for a piercing unless you wanna look like Freddy kreuger in a couple months.

I went here to get my earlobes pierced; the staff was very nice, but I would not recommend getting a piercing here. Within 5 hours of having my piercing, the earring fell out and I was unable to put it back in. When I called explaining my situation, I was told they wouldn’t refund me or re-pierce the ear (or even give me a new earring). So, even though the situation was entirely their fault, I lost $60. Never doing business with them again, and I would not recommend them to a friend.

Ive collected some amazing tattoos from all over the US by some of the best artist, and by far, G is up there as one of my favorites! Incredibly talented, fantastic work ethic, and just all around a really awesome down to earth dude. The shop is very clean, well organized, and has a very open welcoming feel. I got my nose pierced here and it was a great experience. I decided on a whim I wanted to do it, I walked in and the woman who pierced my nose was very nice, quick and did perfect placement. It didnt hurt and I was out in less than 10 mins. Ill be going back for more piercings!!

True North is one of the best shops Ive been too. Its extremely clean, everyone is welcoming and very willing to help, and the artists are amazing. Garreth did a carnation on the front of my left shoulder and it came out and healed beautifully. Im going back soon to book a half sleeve and finish up my arm, but even after that Im pretty sure Im not done with Garreth and his shop! Thanks for everything guys!

I have not actually gotten a tattoo here but when I do get my next tattoo it won’t be here. I went in for their reproductive rights fundraiser 3 times and was turned away each time, I even called once to ensure whether or not I would get turned away.The first time I went in they were quite busy, which I understood, and they told me to come back later. I did come back a few hours later and told me they were no longer doing walk-ins and told me to come back the next morning. I understood again but was a little upset as they had told me to come by later, not telling me that they cut off walk-ins at a certain point.When I came by this morning I saw that they were as busy as they had been when they originally turned me away and not wanting to get turned away again I went and grabbed a bite to eat before returning. After getting food I called and asked when they thought the best time for a walk in would be, they simply told me “first come first serve” which is understandable but I was hoping they could tell me when they’re usually less busy, their walk-in hours or how busy they currently were.This brings me to my third and final time coming in to this shop ever. After I called them I stopped by, yet again, and asked about the planned parenthood tattoo fundraiser to which they told me they were at capacity for those tattoos. I didn’t and still don’t understand what that means as it is a fundraiser currently going on. So in the end I took 3 trips to True north, a place I do not live anywhere near, and didn’t get a tattoo on any of my trips.

People are rude, in person and on the phone. pictures on the wall are crooked. website is unclear on many rules.

Let me say first of all that I have quite a bit of ink done in different shops, by different artists so Im not new to the tattoo world at all.Ive gotten three different tattoos here done by Garreth, one complete piece on my leg (water color tattoo), a very small tattoo on my wrist (no blow out and tiny tattoos in black can do that...especially on hands and wrists) and a half sleeve that is a work in progress currently, mostly complete. My sister has one piece done here by Garreth (blue toned water color on her wrist). They were very accommodating to her and her panic disorder.The shop is very clean and the atmosphere is pretty typical for a tattoo shop in general, if youve been inked before youll know what I mean. Its actually one of the few in the area that doesnt smell like marijuana, not even the slightest whiff.I have other tattoos, some from decently famous artists across the USA and Id have to say the quality isnt an issue with this shop, Garreth is a great artist and refuses to copy someone elses work or images from online, which is becoming more and more rare these days. He is very good at taking ideas and running with them to create a truly masterful work of art.Now I have had some color loss on my incomplete sleeve from the healing process, but thats just what it is...from the healing process. It will be repairable when we get another session to work on it again. Some colors are harder to get to stay and some areas are harder to ink. Just like some areas are prone to blow outs. Thats just the facts of tattoo life.

Daughter got eyebrow done and it was so thin it came out within a few weeks. Reached out and asked them to honor another one or a discount for her and they rudely refused and said once people leave they are no longer responsible! What bad business!!!

I was so happy with the first tattoo I had done here that I have refused to even consider anywhere else, and as of now Im getting my 5th done as I type this. The actual shop is very nice, clean, everyone is super friendly, and the artists are extremely talented. All of my tattoos have been done by the same tattoo artist, Rob Jacobs, and Ive never been disappointed. Also have gotten several peircings here as well and she does a great job. So quick with it which is awesome and makes it barley hurt. Highly recommend.

I was pretty comfortable here, being LGBTQIA+ and 20, coming here for my first tattoo.I got a tattoo and a piercing here on the same day.They were super nice and concerned for my well being, lol.My tattoo came out a little meh, but maybe cause its a stupid little design and I was probably making him nervous, Ill take the blame for that one.I honestly probably wont come back here for a tattoo, unless Im getting another matching one, or something thats ok to not be 100%.But I would come back here for piercings.

I had my ear pierced last year by Kat. She was amazing. The piercing fell out the other day, and she replaced it because I couldnt get it back in myself. I went in the first time with a major migraine, you migraine sufferers know the ones that make you think cutting your head off is a good idea. That migraine was gone before I stood up. I have not had another migraine, or even a headache, since. What I can say is I have been there twice, its clean, everyone is curious and friendly, and from what I could see the tattoos were beautiful.

I got my bellybutton pierced today at true North and Kyle did an amazing job!! Definitely recommend the shop if you want a friendly laid back experience!

I got an eyebrow piercing from Fallon last week and the way she did it caused me a lot of pain. Augusta is a far distance from where I live so i had to go to Kokopeli’s in Bangor and they offered to take it out and replace it as the bar she gave me initially was way too small for swelling and caused consistent headaches. Turns out I can’t even fit a bigger bar in the piercing hole because the holes are way too far apart, so now I have to wait 3 months to get another eyebrow piercing on that same side. Will not be going back, and will be going to a different shop that I trust.Don’t get a piercing here, go somewhere else like in Portland maybe.

I got a my flat pierced and despite following the directions given to me by the shop it never healed, and I had to take it out. Complete waste of my money. Staff very rude as well.

Got my lobes and nostril pierced in one go about two months ago. I have no complaints about the piercers attitude or professionalism during the piercing. However, she pierced my nostril with an l-shaped stud. I’ve since learned through research that nostril piercings really need to be done with a labret bar style stud or at least a corkscrew stud. Mine has gotten caught and pulled out three times so far which has been stressful, painful, and has disrupted the healing process. I don’t recommend getting this type of piercing done here unless they change their starter jewelry. My ear piercings have healed great though, so those are safe.

I got 2nd tattoo here. Great price and the guy was super nice and helpful about the tattoo I wanted!My friend got her belly button pierced at the same time and the girl was super nice and helped calm her down when she told her she was nervous about it.

I’ve gotten two piercings done here, my septum and a stud on my nose (which i have taken out because i didn’t want it anymore). i’ve had kat both times, both piercings healed very well, were placed correctly, and she is very informative on everything that is done, and is very knowledgeable and super sweet.

Went for a septum piercing and had a terrible experience. I had to get it removed by another piercer two days later because it was in my cartilage and crooked.

Devin was a incredibly polite, helpful and detail oriented front desk person. He was incredibly professional and did a amazong job.

I got a piercing couple months ago and I’m giving it a 2 cause one lobe healed fine but the other has been infected ever since the girl doing it dropped the piercing on the ground and I’d hope this wasn’t the one she dropped and put in my ear but besides feeling manhandled the girl was nice to talk to at least

I got my double nostrils for Friday the 13th 2020 just before lockdown in March and Kat was amazing. I had had my nose pierced prior and she took away any fear I had to getting it redone. Def will come back and would recommend!

About a month ago , my mother and her friend had gotten a tattoo. My mother noticed the next day that her tattoo was still bleeding a lot , and missed some lines. She blew it off. She had purchased the cream at the tattoo place and was putting it on 3 times a day. After about 3 weeks went buy her tatto was scarred , had a tattoo blow out , missing ink , crooked lines and black and blue skin around the area. Mind you my mother is 50 years old, had many tattoos that she had gotta in the past 2 years. After about 5 weeks we went back to the tattoo shop to show rob the tattoo. As soon as we went in the own came out , stating that my mother didn’t take care of it good, didn’t use the right cream and brought up her age. First, we bought the cream from them. Second , my mother had gotten 3 tattoos within a year and none of her other tattoos were effected by her “age” and lastly, we tried to get our money back but we couldn’t. He did offer to fix the tattoo but he told us that it needed to heal. Mind you the tattoo was only about 4x6 ( small ) it should’ve been healed already. Worst place ever, no apology, no consideration , nothing. All he did was blame my mothers age and said she was taking care of it wrong. Long story short , we will never be back. Place is a joke.PS : my mothers friends tattoo looks like a 5 year old did it, tattoo blow out, really faded lettering and sloppy.Now my mother and her friend are scarred for life because of the ass hole.

They seemed very impatient and almost irritated or offended that we were there. Acted as though it was ridiculous when questions were asked, did not respect privacy of clients at ALL. Gave the personal information of customers out to a woman the receptionist was friends with. Not impressed at all.

Kat did my helix piercing. I was very nervous and she was very kind and caring. She had it done within seconds. She explained the whole process and was clean and professional.

After returning months later to get my jewelry changed, the woman who pierced my ear swapped out the stud for a hoop that turned out to be too small for my ear, resulting in my ear literally eroding down to the cartilage. Thankfully another place has helped me bring my ear back to health, just think it’s the right thing to do to tell people to be more aware than I was of the jewelry they’re trusting people to put in their bodies.

Its a very clean and sterile environment I had a tattoo done yesterday by Leo one of the tattooist and he was very thorough and clean about everything he did an awesome job on my tattoo I jus wanna say I would highly!! Recommend this business to anyone getting a tattoo or piercing thanks Leo for doing such a great job on my tattoo

They didn’t give me what I asked for. The dots were crooked, and I had to get them fixed. My friend also went here, and they messed up her lettering. Just wouldn’t go here
