Shanes Custom Tattoos and Piercings

Went here in January for three piercings. They pierced me with completely the wrong jewelry, terrible quality and gave the wrong aftercare instructions which forced me to endure months of infections and trying to salvage my entire ear. I went to two other piercers to try and fix the mess they made and the nightmare still ended with a trip to urgent care where I had to get one of my piercings surgically removed from my ear (it had fully embedded inside of me) followed by weeks of antibiotics! My upper ear might never heal fully - stay far far away! I went to get my snake bites pierced and she pierced me with hoops because she said I “look like that type of person”. They did not heal correctly obviously, they just made my lips swell and hurt. She also made fun of my tattoos so yeah don’t go there. Lucky 7 is better and more professional.

I got one tattoo last night .. showed up and right before closing .....first time there...they were awesome went a head and did my tattoo and werent rude at all I even went back today for another one.....great service great people and good work my friend got a piercing while I was getting tattoo she loved the service as well and her piercing .....

The piercer was very sweet and made me feel very comfortable getting my nipples pierced it was quick and easy with very minimal pain

The lady there was such a sweetheart. I had a unique peircing that needed a jewelry change and she worked really hard to find the piece that fit. Also the inside was really clean and smelled good and she gave me extra jewelry for a really good price 😛

Went in today as a walk in for me and a friend to get a piercing. They were very nice and friendly and were able to take us in under 20 minutes. It was clean and well maintained. The 2 people in the shop were very nice and friendly. Definitely will go back again!!! Prices were very good as well.

Beautifully done by Ray. She was very precise on location of where I wanted out as well as working. She understood the meaning behind the work and my best friend I both getting this. The staff there were awesome as well. Will be going back to have leaves colored and a touch up on my other piece of work.

Went for a tattoo a few months ago then went for a nose piercing and had my friend and kid with me very quick clean and friendly staff and when my friends son started crying he picked him up and took him to the fish tank and cleaned him down 😁

I went to get a Medusa piercing and a nose piercing. My best friend got a set of ear piercings. We couldn’t get the jewelry off of her ears and it’s been months of infection. The back of her ears have multiple blood blisters. I wouldn’t go back to this shop for a tattoo or a piercing. My Medusa piercing was crooked as well. I know most of the people who work in the shop have decades of experience, but it truly seems like they have no idea what they’re doing. If you want a good shop with real professionals go to Mr. Tattoo on Broad St.

Bad impression of this place. I was referred here by a friend due to the good quality of work this place produces. Becky is the person I was working with that scheduled my appointment. Seeing as I am out of state, I called well ahead of time to make my appointment for first thing yesterday morning. I receive a call about 12pm the day before as I am still traveling from Florida, informing me that if I dont call back within an hour and a half that I will be removed from the schedule. I understand a business has to run and cannot wait on false promises, however the way she told me was extremely rude. Especially since I was working hard to get the money and also it was a tattoo in memory of my late grandfather. So instead of enjoying the beginning of my vacation, I was highly upset. And just for the record, Im not looking for a handout or even sympathy from this. I just dont want anyone to have the same experience as I did, and I will not ever get any work done here. Yes, because of one rude person. She seriously needs another job if she wants to conduct business in that manner. Being in customer service myself, her attitude is completely disrespectful.

I got a bellybutton piercing from them and I had it for only two days. My piercing was so sore it’s been hurting me since I got it. I couldn’t walk, move around, or do my normal everyday activities because I was in so much pain. That pain was excruciating/unbearable that lead to tears rolling down my face. I went to another tattoo shop and they told me I had to get it removed. They also said if I haven’t came to them when I did it could’ve got infected.They also said that “SHANE’S” did not do my naval piercing correctly that they pierced the surface of my stomach and not my navel. Afterwards, I called “SHANE’S” back and explained everything that happened. I asked for a refund or partial of my money back and the lady I was talking was very rude/hostile towards me. She told me I couldn’t get a refund or partial of my money back because I signed an agreement that states “they are not held liable for any negative reactions after piercing/and or tattoo.” I then proceeded to say….then I said “hello” I hear the lady put the phone down then hangs up in my face! They are very rude/nasty and only want your money! They don’t care about if the customer is satisfied or not! They are very unprofessional and has terrible service! I would NEVER ever go back to them again! I DO NOT RECOMMEND anyone going to them for service! Moreover, who is held liable if they so called “professional piercer’s” did not pierce me in to correct area of my body? OBVIOUSLY THEM! My stomach was so red and irritated which CLEARLY shows that I was not pierced correctly! On top of that it’s still really sore and hurts for me to move and the ring not even in no more!

Great piercing place. At first glance the building looks a bit sketchy, but the people working are capable and will do a wonderful job. I got my septum pierced and had to go into the room alone (covid precautions) so I was nervous. The girl doing my piercing had another worker come in and hold my hand! Very comforting. The piercing itself was the most painless one Ive ever had. I was honestly confused and had to ask at least 3 times is that it?.

The place is very clean and my piercer did a great job and was very professional. My only reason for not giving a 5 star is customer service. I didn’t feel very welcomed. Yes, they got straight to business but no greetings such as “Hi, how are you?” “Welcome,” upon arrival from the people at front desk or by my piercer.

I just got my nostril pierced today! It hurt, so I jumped. He blocked my hand (I reflexively jumped) to keep me from hitting the needle. Great service. I was in and out in less than 5 minutes. Perfect placement and it doesn’t hurt at all now, less than 12 hours later.

The person who pierced me was very patient. I’m someone who has piercings and tattoos before but I never got my nipples before . So I was freaking out but he reassured me and waited until I was ready. 10/10

My tattoo is messed up! I got my tattoo done about a week and a half ago and I’m not pleased at all neither will I go back to get the (ISSUES) fixed. I’ll be going to someone who is experienced. To start off my tattoo was extremely quick which I was happy about because I didn’t want to sit long. My tattoo is uneven there is not enough shading in my dove and the tattoo artist (SHAD) does not have a steady hand he is extremely shaky. My letters in my tattoo are not crisp and they are crooked. I really didn’t noticed these issues until the tattoo started healing. I do NOT recommend this tattoo shop. The atmosphere is not as friendly but enough to make you feel comfortable especially if you’re excited to get a new tattoo. Before (SHAD) did my tattoo he took a smoke break and i didn’t like that at all. My tattoo says exactly what I wanted but I’ll probably get it fixed or completely covered with something else.

The technician was very professional and sweet. She also gave good information on how to take care of my piercings. Another good thing was that I didnt have to wait all day even though they were fairly busy..I was in and out.

I went in to get a daith piercing by them, the guy with the cane had did it and he did an amazing job! It was quick and painless. Price is definitely reasonable. It’s been almost three days and I’m already thinking about going back for two more piercings! It is cash only but luckily they had an ATM :)

Staff is friendly and knowledgeable, atmosphere is casual. They go above and beyond to make you comfortable. The artists strive to make sure that you have a positive experience so that you will keep coming back. It is super clean too. Ive been coming here for years and would recommend them to anyone.

I went in for a piercing a few months ago, a belly button piercing. The piercing was done very quickly and wasn’t pushed through much skin at all so it was catching on my clothing every time I moved or changed outfits. It did not heal well and no after care information was provided. I ended up taking it out and going somewhere else to get it redone.The atmosphere was ok but the employees made the place a tad bit shady. I paid double for the piercing ($40) because I had issues with my card and felt really bad about it. I gave the money to one of the male employees who promptly pocked the extra $20 and gave the other $20 to the lady who did my piercing. I had clearly said the $40 was for the piercing. Being late already and embarrassed that I had so many issues with my cards I took note of the behavior and left. I felt very unsettled, safe to say I will not be going back.

This business is very disorganized. The website told me a price, I called and was quoted the same price. Pulled in on Tuesday night to receive my piercings and they were closed. They have a sign that says they are open Mon-Sat but were closed? I went back Wednesday afternoon and they told me that the website was wrong and the military discount their sign boldly advertises no longer a thing. The woman said I cursed at her so a man who works here came out asking me questions attempting to intimidate me. Needless to say this is not the place I would go to. Right afterwards I went to Dragons Den Tattoo less that .5 miles away and was taken care of in less that 30 minutes.

Got pierced here a while back but they really are awesome. Everyone is genuinely nice and look out for your best interest. They have what you need and are very knowledgeable and tell you what care instructions you need if anything happened.

Loved it everyone was so nice an she made it so quick , I went an got snake eyes it wasnt to painful an it came out really nice thanks u guys ♡♡Just went an got my tattoo fix it came out amazing they are so kind. Would definitely go back an would recommend. Hes a before an after photo♡.Recently got a rib quote tat charged only 90$ an my septum which I believe I was charged 20$or 25$ didnt hurt at all for me didnt feel either. Dont have really good photos for either sorry about that but the photos are below Ive had both for 2 years now ( my nose piercing has been widen where I can hide it)Ive also got my belly done from there when I was 15 I might post a picture of that later lol

Ok job with my daughters nose piercing. The staff was pretty rude and acted like they had better things to do then wait on us. I asked for instructions on how to take care of the nose piercing and the piercer literally rolled her eyes and said just wash it with antibacterial soap. Thats probably correct but dont you think she should of given that info without prompting? Anyway, my daughter is 14 so she was just happy to get a piercing but I wouldnt go back for future business.

I had a great experience. I love my cover up. I will be going back for more work very soon.

I look on the website to see the pricing for a septum piercing and it says 30 dollars I get there and they tell me 40….if you haven’t updated your website I should get what the website says that’s false advertisement. I probably only got told that cause I’m black

After 15 years I finally got my upper back finished. Shad spent about four hours working on my tattoo all while in a neck brace.Everyone in my family has tattoos and my daughters all have piercings too. When we come in everyone knows us. This establishment has great customer service and they are always willing to help you out. Always remember when getting a tattoo you get what you pay for so dont think cheaper is better!This is definitely a place where we will be going back to. So stop on in to Shanes and get some ink or a piercing!

Absolutely DO NOT come here unless you have 2+ hours on you hands just to wait for a tattoo, and not including actually receiving it. I have been twice and they werent even busy and I spent more time waiting than actually getting the tattoos. Even if you have an apointment time you WILL wait for 2 plus hour no matter what. Do not come here unless you want to waste your time.

I took my daughter there today to get her nose pierced. I must be honest when we first walked in we were both thinking umm....... But our curiosity as far as you know how reputable the place was was quickly resolved in a good way by all means. Theyre wonderful people. Unfortunately for the exception of one young lady, she didnt seem very friendly, oh, but she could have just simply been having a bad day, we all have bad days. So I shouldnt even have said that but I cant help myself sorry. Anyway, they were so very helpful and so very kind. I know this may sound a little silly but within about four to five minutes we felt like we were at home. That is how comfortable they make you feel there. And I may be repeating myself but they were so very helpful they pierced my daughters nose and they made sure to tell us exactly how to take care of it and exactly what to do. And they also said if anything went wrong to come straight back to them and they would fix it. Now I dont know if they were meaning for free or anything but I felt like thats what they were saying. And I ran into one individual, he was actually the one that pierced my daughters nose, and I have been wanting a tattoo for a very long time three of them representing my three children. And he was so helpful Ive been envisioning in my head what Ive wanted for a long time and even though it wasnt the vision I actually had in my head it was better than the vision I had in my head. It may take me a minute to get back there and get the tattoos that he spent a good amount of time in finding and measuring and he was just so detailed about everything and explained everything to me so clearly, but again like I was saying it may take me a minute to get back there and actually get them because of the money but I will go nowhere else to get my tattoos that I have wanted for many many many years. He was the manager of the store Im not sure if Im supposed to say his name but anyway he was absolutely wonderful he did a wonderful job piercing my daughters nose and again he did a wonderful job helping me pick out the tattoos that Ive wanted so very long. And I will be going back there like I said he will be the one that will be doing my tattoos. And Ive never had a tattoo. I have no tattoos whatsoever. So youve got to know that he had to have made a very good impression on me for me to be saying that he is the individual Im going to to get the only tattoos I probably will ever get but hes the one thats going to do it God willing. I could go on and on and on cuz Im very good at that. But five stars for this place 10 stars for this place. If you want anything that they do you need to go to them. Thank you too almost all the employees that helped me and my daughter that day. Like I said theres one grumpy young female, but she was just having a bad day we all have them. However, I will add this I will not put up with too grumpy days. Sorry ,one is my limit. Lol God bless 🧚. Opened all instruments in front of us. Yes thats how it should be done but we walked out of another establishment that did not. Also was quick as possible. Peircer answered my questions very patiently. I was confident allowing her to perform the procedure on my teen.

Sydney just did my tattoo, i am in love. Its beautiful. More over though the shop was clean And nice be sure you bring cash, they do have an atm on site though if you forget.

I went this past Monday to get my tragus redone, and Heather was awesome and I havent had any problems with it or pain at all unlike the first time I got it done at Dragon Den Too. Heather used the jewlery I want it done with. I will be back for my two tattoos and my nose piercing in a month or two.

I absolutely do not recommend this place. I went in asking for a design, told then I would be in about week. they spent no time on designs. the guy printed out a picture, and in top of that told me that is what he usually does. If you want a cheap tattoo that is poorly done then this is the place. I would not trust anybody in there to put ink on my skin.

Me and my bff went to get a lip piercing... The staff was nice and friendly and quick with service.. It took approximately 15 minutes for the both of us and we received the spider bites and the dolphin bites.

Wife got nose and both ears pierced and I got new earing and they were great there!!! Fast and very nice. Would definitely go back

So i have had my septum pierced for about a month. My ring fell out during my vacation and I couldnt get it back it. I went here and was not happy with how they tryed to put in back in. They didnt clean my nose first. They put the new ring I had planned to get on a napkin and sprayed it with alcohol. I sat there for 20 mins in pain of them repeatedly stinking me. I wont be back.

Lady told me to come at 11 o’clock and she still had a lot of people in front of me. There was still people being let in front of me and I still had to wait outside. I felt very offended. The employees are not wearing a mask and they are not practicing social distancing.
