Iron & Ink Custom Tattoo And piercing.

Was a walk in about 4 days ago. Had Cody as an artist. I get that my tattoo is still healing but it should not look like this, I know my body. I have 6 other tattoos and none of them have ever healed this way not even the next day after. I’ve went to two other shops to get a second opinion and the first question I got asked was “did you get it done professionally because it doesn’t look like it. It is way too deep and looks like there’s no more ink in it. It’s just going to be a scar”. I am very disappointed because I paid $95 for such a SIMPLE tattoo and to have a result like this. Will never recommend.

Originally, i loved coming here for piercings. now i know its not safe. i asked the piercer at least two times, with weeks in between, if i had anatomy for an industrial piercing. he said yes both times. i eventually went ahead and got the industrial. after two months i still had made zero progress with healing so i contacted an APP piercer in town (dont go to anyone unless they are APP. there were no certificates that i could see displayed in the piercing room btw). they immediately told me that i did NOT have the anatomy. they also told me that not only was the anatomy wrong, but the piercing had been done incorrectly and the bar put in was far too short for healing. it was never going to heal. the piercer prioritized getting more money over giving me a quality, safe, and anatomically correct piercing. i would have kept seeing him if he hadnt lied to me and then done it wrong on top of that. do not get pierced with a man and company who prefers money over keeping their customers safe.btw i saw Ian, not sure if theres other piercers.

Charlie is a phenomenal piercer who works very well with children. He’s quick, is very professional and takes the healing process of children’s piercings seriously. Please don’t go to a Claire’s or other place that has a piercing gun. It’s just not the same as professionally done. My daughter was in and out in less than 10 minutes!My only negative remark was the follow up to have her second set of surgical steel ear rings put in was a long wait. We had to approach someone after some time to follow up and ask how long it would be. We were initially told 5 minutes which turned into 20. After that though, we were in and out in less than 3 minutes.Everyone there is very nice. Don’t let the downtown vibe make you stay away. This place is amazing!We paid $25 for both lobes for my 11 year olds first set. They use the best surgical grade steel. They healed up perfectly without any extra cleaning solutions needed. They even sell sets at affordable prices to replace the first ones. Perfect for those with allergies who still want to have a beautiful pair in!

My oldest wanted to get her septum and upper lobe pierced and she heard good things about this place so we went ahead and decided on going here. I emailed to find out if we had to make an appointment and was met with a timely and detailed response of what the days and times looked like for walk in appointments. When we got there the staff was very nice,patient and helpful. My daughter had forgotten to bring her id and they gave us time to get that as well. The guy who did the piercing was also really nice as he talked my daughter thru the process before and during making her feel as comfortable as possible. He was also very professional and accurate with placing. He even made sure she knew of aftercare and if she had any questions or concerns to call the shop. The process took no time at all. I would say this is the best experience you could be apart of especially when it comes to my daughter who was fairly nervous about the whole process. The pricing is nice too as they included the earrings with the piecings. Also FYI they only except cash payment they do have an atm on hand but just in case you wanna be prepared.

Took my daughter for her second ear piercing, very friendly, got us in right away, was professional and did an amazing job! She said it didn’t hurt. Highly recommend.

I had a really great experience with the piercer! I called ahead incurring about a jewelry change for my nose piercing. He was nice over the phone and said he wouldn’t charge me. I went over right away and met with him, we talked about the jewelry and he said he didn’t like the way the jewelry options were looking. I went to the store and got new jewelry, and brought it back. He was very kind and calmed my nerves. He also did his absolute best to not make the process difficult and was transparent the whole time. I barely felt the jewelry change and I left so happy not only with my experience but also my new jewelry.

Huge shout out to Cody and Charley, my husband and I got tats and I got a piercing, best place ever. All our tattoos turned out amazing and my piercing didnt even hurt! We will be returning for more work for sure!!!!

5 for Charley. Hes done 3 of my piercings and never been dissatisfied. I got a tattoo done by Steve once and was not pleased. The coloring was not right. The lining was poor. He mustve just had a bad night tho. Ive seen numerous of his other tattoos and they were done well.

I was very rudely hung up on but one of the staff when I was asking a question… then I called back and they hung up right away I will definitely be taking my business elsewhere

It was a great experience both time. The atmosphere was great and clean with a very friendly staff. Olivia explained everything before starting and aftercare. She updated me when she finished a portion of my tattoo and made sure I did not need break. Charlie made sure I was relaxed and comfortable before piercing my nose.

I went to get a tongue piercing and as I was walking out the door I noticed it was off to the side didnt think anything about it because hes supposed to know what hes doing. Next thing ya know I had to go to the doctor because it was hurting so bad in my jaw I tried to call right back as soon as I got in my car and nobody would answer the phone doctor said it was not done correctly and to take It out immediately when she helped me take it out blood went everywhere and this was a week after I got it we decided to finally go ahead and take it out the pains was only getting worse

I came in about 4 days ago and got my cheeks pierced, first off. He handed me a sharpie and told me to look in the mirror and place it myself… second off he did not give mouth wash or wash the outside of my face so he pierced a dirty piece of skin. He then stuck hand sanitizer in my mouth. Third these bars in my mouth are not even close to being long enough they’re now embedding into my cheek. I would NOT come here for a piercing again after paying $90 I could’ve done more sanitary at my own home

A little background...it has been many years since I have been anywhere for a tattoo. I had had a bad experience at another shop previously, and an top of that I have a hard time with new people and places generally. But the vibes here made me feel so comfortable straight away. And Olivia is absolutely amazing! She did a quote for me and drew up a custom design that I had been wanting for a long while. Both pieces are just what I wanted, done at a fair price, and were relatively quick and as painless as a tattoo can be. I will be contacting her for more in the future!

Theo was great at answering my questions. He took his time to make sure I wasat hed with the right artist whose name was Dickie. She did a great job with my watermark tattoo.

Jesse McConaha has done all my tattoos and he does AMAZING detailed work. He ensures that every aspect is everything you want in regards to placement, size, and detail. He is very patient and has a chill vibe. During tattoo he makes sure you are okay during process and is very sanitary. Would highly recommend to get on his schedule , especially if it is your first time :)

This shop is amazing. Did some searching all around, visited shops in other counties. The customer service, the cleanliness and the customer service was outstanding. Great experience. Charlie pierced my daughters ears. He explained the process to her and what she needed to do. We are very pleased with his services.

Do not come here for piercings!! It was very dirty and unsanitary. Nobody was wearing a mask (this was months ago before mandates were lifted) and the piercer kept sneezing without washing his hands before doing our piercings. The piercer made me mark my own ear with a sharpie for where I wanted the piercings and didn’t help at all and made me feel rushed, and then when I didn’t like the placement for one of my piercings I was blamed and got attitude since I was the one who made the marking. I got very little information on aftercare and they have no choices for different types of jewelry. There were pizza boxes and food everywhere in the back room where they do the piercings. Overall, some of the staff was unkind and I was very disappointed in my experience. My piercings are over 3 months old and are still not healed due to the weird angle at which they were pierced. I will not be coming back here and I advice that others get their piercings done elsewhere too.

I got a lip piercing here on Aug 20 and on Aug 24th I had already taken then jewelry out. He pierced it crooked, good on the outside but VERY low on the inside. I told him the bar he put in was too short but he assured me it would be fine, when my lip swelled, my lip cratered around the jewelry and then started to reject. DONT COME HERE FOR PIERCINGS.

My friend and I were here yesterday and each got 3 tattoos done by Duckie. This was by far my favorite tattoo experience I have ever had. Both Duckie and the guy who was there that does piercings were so friendly and laid back. She took her time and made sure each tattoo was exactly where and how we wanted it. Definitely will be returning for any future tattoos and piercings I get!

Duckie did my tattoo and she did such a great job. From the beginning she was so warm and welcoming and the prices are very much fair. She took her time with my tattoo, going over it a few times to see if there were anything either of us should add to it. I can’t wait to get my other tats done with her.

This shop is in my eyes the best in town, Charley does an excellent job and always has, I asked him to take my daughters baby feet from the birth certificate and put them on me and as some tattoos fade over the years mine is in perfect condition. Tattoos heal and keep the ink looking lively with how well you take care of them. Also the pricing is very good! Ive seen other shops work and for their price if I could give it a no star I would.

I was super excited to get my first tattoo but unfortunately the artist was the rudest person I have come across. Instead of explaining the process I was belittled and embarrassed when the response was hostile. I will never go back to this place because of the horrible customer service. I get the severity of a tattoo but instead of speaking to someone the way I was spoken too it should have been explained, I was yelled at like I knew the process even when they knew I have never had a tattoo. They completely don’t care about the quality of there work and now I have a messed up tattoo until I get it removed!

I loved going there recently to get my septum pierced, the man who Pierced me was very professional and polite but sadly I’ve had to take it out due to the fact that it was crooked and not healing right causing more pain than normal I’d like to get it re pierced but I will let it heal fully first

I got a small butterfly tattoo at iron and ink March of 2021. I’ve always wanted dainty tattoos covering my body and I got my first one here. My artist was rude and inflexible and I should’ve left immediately after he started arguing about the design. This event traumatized me and I haven’t gotten a tattoo since. Every line of this one inch tattoo is blown out and I was way over charged. Would never recommend.

This Shop is Amazing wont find a better tattoo shop than Iron and Ink in Bloomington! We have been to many other shops and decided that the work here is by far way above and beyond other artist in the area. My wife and I were very pleased with the Tattoos we have received from here and tell everyone about this place! Charlie is a amazing artist. I can clearly say I wont go any where else for a Tattoo but here.

I’ve gotten tattoos from two people here and they both did great. Unfortunately their boss seems to be on them all the time and isn’t considerate of the customers thinking the artist is doing bad. He also likes to smoke inside which smells obnoxious and does make me want to go elsewhere. One of the artists brings their son who plays very loud video games even during sessions and makes the customer ask him to turn it down. I had my belly button pierced today and it was a pleasant experience. Not once during this did I ever think that something would go wrong either now or later. I would 100% come back to get more piercings and/or tattoos.EDIT: it’s been about a month since I’ve gotten my piercing and I’ve had no complications at all!!

Duckie did an excellent job tattooing a piece on my ribs. Made sure everything was precise and took her time. Took a bit of time, but I would rather it take some time and get done perfectly than fast and sloppy. my tattoo was a one-color tribal tattoo and I am in love with it.

The piercer was kind but my piercing came out extremely wrong. I went yesterday for a septum piercing and didn’t know any better but after getting it started researching more about the ring and what it’s suppose to look like. I went to two different piercing shops for a second opinion in the Bloomington area and they told me to take it out because it was 1. Way too low and 2. Crooked and on top of that, the ring wasn’t meant for septum’s and that it was just a barbell curved with pliers to make it appear as a septum ring. I’m sad because I hate complaining but my first septum piercing experience was awful and I wasted my 35 dollars :-(

I have traveled all around this country and lived in in many different states. Ive been in and out of more tattoo stops then I can count. A lot of those tattoo shops I walked out of faster than I walked in. Im very particular on where I go and who I let tattoo my body. (As I feel everyone should be). Ive been too many tattoo conventions and have met some some really amazing tattoo artist. Out of all the places Ive have been iron and ink will always be my favorite. From the moment you walk in the door you are made to feel like you are at home. Everyone on their staff is so friendly and welcoming it really makes for an amazing experience. Even have a pool table to play on and TVs to watch in the lobby while you wait. One of the first things I look for when walking into a tattoo shop for the first time is cleanliness. I must say they have to be one of the cleanest shops I have ever seen in my life. Everything from the front door mat to the bathrooms looks like you could eat off of it. After thumbing through their portfolios and coming to the conclusion that not only is their shop is clean you could ever wish for so is their quality tattoo work. Out of all the tattoos I have on my body hands down the best one I have I got right there at iron and ink. I felt so comfortable and at home through the whole experience even while getting the tattoo the conversation with the artist and atmosphere was the best I could ask for. When my tattoo was finally done and I looked at it for the first time it was honestly better than I even imagined it could be. I couldnt find anything bad to say about the shop if I tried. Great experience amazing people even better tattoos!!!!

Got my daughters ears pierced here a while back. The staff was very professional. They had a clean working environment. I will definitely be getting my next tattoo done at this shop.

I used to go to a shop out of town. After our guy there quit tattooing, someone at work recommended Charley. Hes fantastic. Such passion for his art. Highly recommend Iron and Ink.

My tat is nice from a distance..but he definitely blew out the line work. The lines are not straight or crisp at all. Myself and 2 other ppl went. The work on the first was flawless. Made me excited..however mine just lacked on that prestine, daintiness you want on small script tats.

Charlie did a small starfish tattoo in my ear. Never asked me if I wanted to make it bigger. Now I come in for my appointment to change it to a flower because everyone thinks its just a plain star and I hate it - he tells me theres nothing he can do and blames me for not going bigger in the first place. Whos the expert and whos the customer? Rude and classless. Ill go to someone who knows what the hell they are doing. Peace..

One of the best tat shops in town hands down i got my knuckles done by charlie and they look like they did the first day i got them done. Charlie is a great guy knowledgable and very talented at what he does and his shop is the clranest in town i would recomend iron and ink to anyone . if you dont belive me go meet charlie yourself then you would agree too.

I came here in June 2021 to get a helix and the piercer had me mark with a sharpie on my ear and pierced it at such a bad angle that now months later i cant put any jewerly in besides the bar it was pierced with because nothing fits. Its just annoying that a professional pierced it at such a bad angle that it doesnt heal and I cant put any other jewelry in.

Charley is awesome & the only one Ive ever trusted for over 10yrs! Ive never left disappointed!! 12 tattoos & 8 piercings later I always recommend him to everyone!

Got my belly button pierced here. He did such a great job and was very calm and patient. Didn’t hurt at all, would come back again.

Got my septum done here a few months ago and instead of using the regular curved earring, they used a barbell which they bent into a v shape and it barely stuck out of my nose, he definitely pierced the wrong spot and used the wrong earring. I even called first to make sure that they would be using the curved earring and they said yes I think so and then he used a barbell instead. I had to eventually take it out bc it was most likely infected, I would not go here again and he told me the only way to clean it was to run it under the water in the shower. HUH??

100% do NOT come here if you want to get your belly button pierced. I came to get mine done and it is so bad that I have to take it out. The placement is all wrong and you can only see one of the ends of the piercing and they literally bent a barbel with pliers and used that

I love to go there to get my piercing pierced. The costs for piercings in that place arent bad and they did very good doing it! I got my septum nose done and orbital contch done from there.

Went in with my daughters to get my belly button pierced 10 days ago. From the get-go it was red, which I expected at first because thats normal. However, as the days went by, it kept getting more red and painful and I realized that the ball on the top was literally being pulled into the hole that he pierced because he took too much skin. I attempted to unscrew the bottom ball which is the ball that was screwed on, and it was on so tight that I could not get it off. I ended up at PromptCare and they had to use clamps to remove it. Now I am on an antibiotic for a very bad infection and have a hole in my stomach that is way bigger than it should be. Very disappointed. I will not return.

Ive been getting my ink done for years by Charley...last night got some very sentimental work done by duckie ...love LOVE LOVE the work. Iron and ink is the definite spot to go to fix the tattoo itch in us all!!!! 😅

I got pierced here with bad jewelry and it left me with a huge scar I have had for years now. DO NOT RECOMMEND. Im making this post now because I saw on Facebook they mutilated another poor girl!! DO NOT GO HERE!

I paid 120 for this here and u can barely read it and not worth my money this was done 12-21-21 it was way to much ink it’s suppose to say beauty and i ive been to 4 different places and they say they don’t know how to fix it so now I’m stuck with it looking ugly till I can afford a cover up

They gave me a smaller diamond then the actual hole in my nose and it ended up falling through the hole and was making my nose constantly bleed. Had to go to psychopathic ink and tattoos to get it redone and she did very well.

Always friendly, sterile,and good at taking ids before anything is done signed or drawn up,went there recent due to another shop messing up tribal and Charlie took it 3d and blew out the water,got another tattoo still got great color n lines n thats ten years old very professional him and the staff there all do great work!!!!

Charley has done 4 of the 5 tattoos that I have. He is a great guy and artist and will be who I go to for any future work.

I got my tattoo done by duckie, My tattoo healed and looked as if it was already 10 yrs old she went over it again and still looked terrible. Mind you my tattoo is just letters and a small bird. She missed TONS of spots and still missed tons on my second touch up.
