A week ago, I got an ear lobe piercing at my town an hour away from Bloomington. The jewelry quality wasn’t the best, and the piercer put the back of my earrings very tight leaving no room for swelling. After looking for another piercing place in my town, I wasn’t having much luck finding a reputable place. I ended up calling Jasmine and asking if she could just take a look at my earrings to see if there was a problem with how tight the earrings fit. She was so sweet and gracious telling me she’d look at it for free. The shop is so clean and they have a big selection of quality titanium and gold flat back earrings. After looking at my earrings she confirmed that they were too tight and could have caused more problems. I ended up buying a new pair of beautiful titanium earrings and she took the old jewelry out and practically painlessly slipped the new earrings in for me. 10 out of 10 would recommend working with Jasmine for quality piercings.

Just got a tattoo done by Kat, and I legit dont think I will ever go anywhere else for a tattoo. Very professional, very friendly, super chill, and great work for a great price. I literally have nothing bad to say, these guys are the best. Thank you all so much!

Absolutely amazing work from Dre. He is a top notch artist and takes lots of pride in his work and pays lots of attention to detail. Not only was the tattoo some of the best work I have seen, he was very polite and professional. He was able to draw up a design from a few details I gave him and had no problem changing anything to the design or adding anything. I stopped by to see if Jasmine had time for a walk-in, and she squeezed me in no problem, even though I was ready to schedule something if she didnt have time for me. She was so quick, efficient, and gentle while piercing. I got an eyebrow piercing and barely even noticed, even still while healing. Everything was clean, sterile, and comfortable. Highly recommend!

Jasmine is literally the best and the sweet person ever! I had an appointment for a septum piercing but asked if I could also add on a lip piercing, which we were able to do both! She is amazing!!! Will 100% go back and recommend to everyone I know!

If you have piercing needs, jasmine is your go to girl in Bloomington! I have had a horrible experience with piercings in the past, and Jasmine has completely changed that for me. Over the past 2 years she has given me double piercings on my loves, a helix, and a Tragus piercing. She is so knowledgeable and professional. Her jewelry is top of the line and absolutely adorable! Jasmine is wonderful!! I came in with an existing nostril piercing wanting to get a matching one on the other side. She took as much time as she needed to measure and make sure the marking was as symmetrical as possible before piercing it, and it turned out great! Her jewelry selection is also unbeatable, so you cant go wrong! 😍

Jasmine was so kind and helpful! I was referred to jasmine when I had a problem with jewelry that was stuck in my helix piercing, and my normal piercer at a different shop wasn’t available. She got me in right away and got the jewelry out in not even 5 minutes! My helix is much happier now lol. Definitely will be coming back to get more jewelry!

Jasmine is fantastic! I did my research before scheduling my piercing and she constantly came up as the best and she did not disappoint! The shop is very nice and clean and Jasmine herself is friendly and kind and knowledgeable. She explained EVERYTHING before doing anything and the piercing (septum) was quick and relatively painless. I am extremely pleased with the final result and will be returning to her for future piercings. Definitely recommend.

Ive gone to a total of three places for my tattoos, and this has to be my favorite out of all of them. The environment is extremely friendly, safe, and comfortable. The price was very fair for the amazing work Melanie did. I have had some issues in the past with irritation after tattoos, but I havent had any after coming here!! It was my friends first tattoo, and they made sure she felt 100% comfortable the entire time. The first two pictures are the tattoos my friend and I got, and the third is what it looks like two days later. This is definitely where Ill be getting any future tattoos!!

Cant say enough about how excited I am to have found Jasmine and crew!! She was amazing at helping me remove a botched piercing (done elsewhere!) and I cant wait to come back once it heals to get my piece redone and done right. She was so gentle and patient while I battled my fears and anxieties about the process and made it so much more bearable than I anticipated. If you want anything pierced, come here!!!!

Tattoo was done way too deep. Was left with scaring, bleeding of ink, bumps & irritation 8 months later; not to mention the “shading” is horrible. I highly recommend looking elsewhere for a tattoo unless you want to be left with pain and spending more money to have it laser removed. My artist was DreI’d rate it zero but I heard two star ratings get taken more seriously..

This was, by far, the best experience I have had getting a tattoo. I have gotten 5 tattoos in my life, all of which have been negative experiences. I was nervous coming to Smokin Aces and a little intimidated, but Andre was so kind and did excellent work! I would 100% recommend him to anyone and I’m honestly so grateful for the experience I had there! The shop itself is clean and comfortable to be in. Definitely going back!

I got a custom piece done by Josh Meyers and I couldnt be happier. He incorporated all the elements I wanted into his own incredibly creative design. The style is exactly what I want, the colors are beautiful, lines are clean, etc. The shop was clean and friendly and everything (aftercare, policies, etc) was made very clear. The price was less than I was expecting too which was nice. Josh is a super talented artist - you can be confident in his ability to do amazing work.

My tattoo experience with Dre was extremely professional, quick, and exactly what I wanted. Jasmine is an extremely knowledgeable piercer who again was extremely calm and professional about her job. A well rounded and happy staff makes this a great atmosphere for anyone looking for new ink or a fresh piercing!

I had my belly button pierced by Jasmine. I was a walk-in on this particular day and she made the time to do it. Extremely sterile and professional with high quality jewelry. She even changed her gloves like three times to be sanitary. I have VERY sensitive skin and I havent had a single issue with my piercing, it was so well done. Ill always come back for my jewelry and piercing needs.

Got my nosed pierced here in the summer by Jasmine. She was very sanitary, however she was seriously condescending despite my very polite attitude. Now that my piercing is completely healed, I went to change it because it’s too long and CANNOT get the jewelry out! Now I have to go back in just to get it changed. Overall, the entire staff was super rude, we waited for 20 minutes for someone to even come over to tell us the prices because they aren’t listed anywhere. This shop needs better customer service but from the looks of their responses to other reviews, they see no problems with their workers’ behaviors.

Ive got 3 piercings (Jasmine) and 1 tattoo(Dre) from here. They are AMAZING. I feel so comfortable here. Jasmine handles my pre piercing anxiety so well. Her jewelry selection is on point. Dre did the most beautiful work I couldve imagined. I look forward to my next appointment 🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩

Smokin Aces is professional, welcoming, and extremely clean. Ill never go anywhere else for my piercings. Ive had 2 nostrils, a septum, and 2 lower lip piercings here. They all healed fantastic and look great!

I went here for my last tattoo after hearing good things about the artists. I was not disappointed by their skill. The shop is clean and their staff is very professional. I had Josh do my tattoo and it came out amazing. He listened to what I wanted and made sure I was comfortable with his design. I will definitely be going back to them from now on.

Jasmine has done a few of my piercings. She is always friendly, genuine, professional, and clean. I never have enough good things to say! I recommend her to anyone that asks.

Got my nose done here and loved the piercer that did that (can’t remember her name!), and got a small back piece done as well by Calvin I believe about a year and a half ago and he did an amazing job. However, I went in about 4 months ago to get another small tattoo as a walk in and received work done from the apprentice there. She told me the small flower I wanted she had done a few things similar. However, I could not have had a worse experience. During the tattoo she kept yelling at her manager how she was hurrying (which does not seem like she was putting much thought into it). Then the manager checked on it twice for a glance. After the manager let her know he approved she bandaged me up and lead me to the register. Never got to see it till I got home and that’s when the disappointment set in. It did not resemble anything I showed her or what the stencil looked like. I thought about going in for a touch up but I was too nervous that she would make it even worse. I went to a different place to get it done. If that was my first experience I would’ve definitely gave this place a 1 star.

I got my first tattoo here during a flash sale. Though I didnt get a sale tattoo they matched the price. I love the tattoo and it healed beautifully. I went with a group of friends and recommend all the artists (especially Dre). For a first tattoo in a painful area (i got a daffodil on my wrist) it wasnt bad Dre was very attentive. Would definitely go again!

I am very disappointed with my experience here. I did end up getting a tiny tattoo, but I was treated very rudely by one of the female staff members. I came into the shop and instantly smelled marijuana, which didn’t bother me too much. I had called before hand and knew that they had a minimum of $60, which is fine. But they treated me so rudely and made me feel stupid when I showed her my ideas. One worker said that I could get a quarter size, extremely simply tattoo for $60, but when I showed the female artist my quarter size tattoo that I wanted she said that there were too many straight lines and it would cost much more than $60. I’m happy with the tattoo that I ended up getting, even though it was extremely overpriced, but I would not recommend going here because of how I was treated.

My rating is only this high because of the apprentice and Jasmine (?) the lady who does piercing. The apprentice was more professional and a pleasure to work with than Caitlin. If it was just her I would have encountered I would have walked and this would be a one star rating. The one star because you cant give zero and review. Ive never met a ruder tattoo artist than her, and Ive met some really rude ones.

I called the Normal store to see if I would be able to purchase jewelry. They asked me to call the Bloomington store and told me they didnt have much jewelry and I needed to go to Bloomington or message them on Facebook and was told that would be the best way to get ahold of them. I called the Bloomington store with no response. I then messaged them again with no response. I decided to go in the next day to just look at the jewelry myself. We went in and talked to a tattoo artist who was really nice . She said the piercer had to be there to sell the jewelry but I really wish I was told that when I called the Normal store. The tattoo artist told us what times the piercer would be there the next day. I call the next day to again make sure the piercer was there and she answered the phone. I asked if I would be able to come in to buy a septum ring . She then proceeded to tell me only she can sell the jewelry and can only sell it by appointment. At that point iv already spoke to 2 employees and no one told me this. I didnt need the piercing done, didnt need her to change it and literally just want a septum ring . She said she was fully booked for the day and couldnt sell me jewelry... Really odd to have that many interactions with employees and turned away because I dont have an appointment to buy jewelry?

Great experience. Went to exquisite first and found out that they only had one artist there. Needless to say I wasnt impressed so I headed to Smokin Aces. I had Tommy Lee do it for me and I had an amazing time. He not only did a great job on the tattoo but he was fun to talk to during the process definitely felt comfortable and well taken care of considering I got it in an intimate spot. Im for sure coming back.

The tattoo turned out great but the service was somewhat lacking. We scheduled with Shelby but once we arrived we were told she wasnt there. After waiting 20 minutes another tattoo artist did the tattoo with prompting. So overall, average.

I havent gotten a piercing since I was 18, now in my 30s I started feeling adventurous. Decided a new look was needed and settled on a nostril piercing. The woman who did my piercing was very kind, very thorough. I have a few more piercings I want to get done and I will be going back again.

Second tat from the place, good service, friendly and can be chatty or quiet, really good at making you comfortable.Prices are fair, quality of work is good, and the artists are friendly and helpful; what more could you ask for?

After having my 3 week old nose stud come out of my nose while sleeping, I was very upset & worried. Although I had it done elsewhere, Smokin Aces was happy to find time to check if my hole had closed. Luckily it had not and I was able to get new jewelry fitted. I would definitely return for my future piercing needs!

My friend and I called about their walk-in availability and were told they were open and free to do our small tattoos with just lines. The girl tattoo artist was super condescending when she told us that she actually didnt have the time. We immediately left and went to a better establishment with more respectful staff.

Took my daughter to have her ears pierced. Very clean, Jasmine was professional, knowledgeable, and used sterile technique. Big selection of styles to choose from, after care instructions given.

Much higher jewelry standards than a number of local shops.I see the piercers patiently explaining why cheap metal can hurt you to several clients during each of my visits-And I see a lot of clients leaving in a huff unwilling to pay the difference.Luckily, those nice women will still be there with open arms ready to replace the jewelry that turns your skin green with something healthier once a problem pops up.

Professional and talented staff. They are reasonably priced and open to negotiating. Gave me a free touch up after a small part of my tattoo didnt heal correctly. Highly recommend them!

I got my conch piercied by Caitlyn. She was really nice and professional. Shes not just piercing to get paid, Ioriginally came in for a belly button piercing and she told me it was ill-advised because of a surgery I had has a kid that left my bellybutton being completely scarred tissue. Which at another place said nothing. She was very clean and calm as I was really nervous for my first piercing ( I had my lobes pierced as a kid). I was really happy with my experience.

I will definitely go here for all my tattoos in the future. Caitlyn did an amazing job and I love my new tat. If you want high quality work and a friendly staff this is the place for you.

I went with my friend to get her belly button piercing changed and she kept repeating how her “anatomy” is wrong and my piecing isn’t straight. She then preceded to say her cost would be $99 JUST FOR THE JEWELRY. Learn customer service, and hope the next person you try to rip off realizes it too :)

Got both traguses pierced. Jasmine was extremely professional, and definitely the most thorough piercer from whom Ive ever had work done. Highly recommended.

When it comes to piercings, this place is EXTREMELY overpriced. Can’t say anything about the tattoo artists, just came here to get my doubles pierced. Bought the cheapest kind of earring and still ended up paying over a hundred dollars for it. Would not recommend coming here first for piercings, would check pricing at other places first.

This place is absolutely aweful. I went 5 weeks ago asking them to draw out an arch angle for my first tattoo and the artist said they would call back in 4 days. Its been 5 weeks with no phone call. If already gotten the tattoo from no regrets. If you want a good tattoo head there and ask for Matt D. Smoking aces sucks ass. Just sayin

Caitlyn was so rude and her quality of work was terrible. If you are looking at getting a tattoo done here please look at other artists. I regret this tattoo that was done by her. I will not be going back unfortunately. Now I have to live with this or look into getting it covered up.

The Im too cool for you vibe is definitely strong up in this place. Beware if you are a first timer, I did not feel welcome.

Great! Have gotten two piercings here so far. Their piercer is super professional and makes sure everything is sanitized. Explained everything as it was going on.

Amazing artists with skills and personalities to match. You can get almost anything done, but requires appointments to get in (they can do walk-ins but they are usually booked). Downsides like this come with ink that is quality and finished work that is some of the best around.

Ive been pierced by both Jasmine and Caitlyn and they do a fantastic job! Everything is so clean and the jewelry is high quality!

Dont come here if you want a finger or hand tattoo. It will be too small and it honestly isnt worth it. I guess Ill get my tattoo somewhere else.
