Exotic Impressions Body Piercing

We went today(my wife and I), and we had such an amazing experience!! My wife got her nose pierced, and I had my 3 earlobe holes reopened; the 2 girls that helped us were extremely knowledgeable and friendly!! The place was clean, professional, and just fun! We are from New Jersey visiting my father for the week, and my wife said that if she wants to change her hardware, she’s gonna wait until we come back just to give them her business again!

Kate was amazing with me and my adult daughter. She was fast, efficient and knowledgeable with her talent. The staff was welcoming and friendly as well. Will definitely be going back!

The male is very pleasant and experienced dealing with all sorts of people. Everyone else was rather unpleasant and unfriendly. I asked the piercer about the jewelry, the specifics and was told “it’s the one you all picked” when trying to gauge standard size and actual size of the nose ring. Also, only one particular person was showed where to sit to wait for her turn and the girl with the colorful hair made sure to tell the other customer where to sit. We stood the entire time, 16 mins to be exact while we wait to be serviced.

Highly recommend, they are very professional and down to earth. I especially recommend Kate and Izzy as they have helped me countless times with different piercings and jewelry changes. Thank you!

Piercing lady did not greet me when I walked in and firstly. Only thing that was said was “you can sit facing the mirror”. The piercer should already know what piercing I want if I set an appointment. Why are you asking me about a septum when i booked “nostril piercing”? She started cleaning my nose and she was being rough. Like my nose is down here why is your hand bumping my lashes and my lips?????? I told her and she said “i’m just cleaning it”. Again my nose is down here not up there or close close to my lips. Mind you i’m here for a nostril piercing. My other nostril was already pierced and I asked her I said “can you make it even to this one?” she said “that’s the goal” with an attitude so i’m like okay cool not gonna trip. I get up to look at it and it’s so off, uneven, and higher than the other side. If it was the goal ma’am why did you not meet this goal???? I asked her if she could fix it and she asked me if I wanted a refund or if I wanted her to move it down. I said “no you can just fix it and bring it down”. So she moves it and my nostril is bleeding bad. Started cleaning it but let the rest stay on my nose like what???? Told me to let it dry and put saline on it. Why would I wanna walk out the store with dried up blood on my nose and my piercing all bloody?????? But okay cool. Did not appreciate that at all. It was uncalled for and she should’ve took her time and should’ve been more careful. My nose is hurting really bad. I don’t even think this is the jewelry I purchased and the piercing still looks a little uneven but maybe only because my nostril is still very swollen. But it’s all cool, really deserves no stars but I had to put one so I can write this review.

1st time getting pierced, Angel made sure it was quick, easy, and nearly painless.Lexie, shes in sales and gave extra support and knowledge of what to get and how to care for it.I left feeling confident in my purchase and happy with a new way to express myself.

I don’t write many reviews, but I felt like I had to here, had 3 piercings done las week, they looked great! Well 4 days later one of the piercings jewelry fell off i went the same day to try and get it back on, it was soooo irritated that was impossible to put it on, next day my ear was sooo swollen and red!! I had to remove 2 of the piercing!!!! I stopped by a different place and showed my ear! He told me that they used the wrong piercing and it wasn’t even tightened and not an “even piercing “? :.. .. I do take care of my piercings, this is not the first time I get some done, I never had issues till now, I paid for 3 piercings, jewelry and a tip and then when I went back to try to put the one that feel off, I was told I had to pay again to get it “repierced” then she tell me that was because I had 3 done in the same ear, so why did she said that was ok to begin with? She never said nothing about that before, now I feel like I’m out over $100 and if I want it done again will be more money!!!

The jewelry selection is incredible. They follow all the sanitary requirements. Knowledgeable & very helpful. I highly recommend them.

Hmmm where do I start. First and foremost I will say this location has very poor communication and definitely needs training on customer service. I will start out by saying I live in another state and came here on the recommendation of someone. I was scheduled for a nipple piercing on 4/4 at 6pm. I should have followed my first mind and left when I didn’t get seen until 6:45 and was never told they were behind until I asked. I proceeded anyway and got pierced by Tehya, she’s a nice young lady but the piercing was bad. The left piercing was bleeding so much and I noticed that it was moving a lot even with a sports bra that I had to continually pad my bra with maxi pads and change them like my breast was on a period. Because it was bleeding so much, I decided to visit a well known piercing shop in NC where I live and got my two nose piercings at on 4/9 to find out what I suspected and that is the piercing was a bad piercing, it is angled incorrectly. Instead of it being flat against the areola, the piercing was too far up in the nipple and angled sort of diagonally. The piercer recommended I take it out allow it to heal and come back in a few months to do it over. I called Exotic Impressions to inform them of what happened and my name and number was taken and was told she would pass my info to the owner who is great about responding quickly and he would call me. Well 2 days later 4/11, no call. I called back to speak with the owner and was greeted by someone who was very rude on the phone. The first thing she said is you can come back in, I told her I do not live there and second I would never go back to a place that messed up something on my body a second time. I told her someone took my name and number a couple of days ago and said the owner would call me but to date, no call. She then says, “well, I didn’t take your name and number.” Well Ms. Ma’am I never said you did. She then says I can take it again and “TRY” to pass the information on. I said “are you going to pass it or TRY?” She says I can try. At that point I realized this was pointless and told her I’ll just write a review. I said it to her and I will say it again, I’m not looking for any money back but I would like to speak to the owner so he can work with the piercer that works in his shop to either advise she needs to train more or mentor more. I tried to handle this with them directly but they are unresponsive and I’m writing a review in hopes this does not happen to anyone else. I would never go back and I would not recommend anyone to go there. I should have followed my first instinct and left when it seemed disorganized when I was there.

Got my Nose pierced fast ! Took 1 sec of pain and over , perfect placement I love it. Coming back for an update Kate is amazing changed out my nose piercing so fast it was painless shes the best in South Carolina! Thanks so much

Wonderful experience started from the moment I walked in. Everyone was so helpful going through the steps of filling out information, to picking jewelry, and then paying. Carolyn was amazing, talked to me through the process to help me relax. Two small pokes and we were done! she was amazing, and will definitely be back! Amanda is the best, after many appointments with her she has never disappointed. With the invasive piercings I have received she is always professional and very comforting. Also a lot of fun to be around. This was my first time at the rivers location and it is just as nice as the others. The wood work inside was amazing also.

My new go-to piercing parlor since I moved to the area. First time I came in, it was for a jewlery change that was quick and easy. This time I had an appt for Angel to do a double tragus for me. She was so friendly, professional and knowledgable. She gave me suggestions for what would be best for my piercing so I could tell she was an expert, cared for me and believed in her work.She made sure I was comfy the whole way and that I liked everything before she continued. And of course they have their policy to come in if anything at all goes wrong for some help free of charge, so I know they stand by their work.It was clean, easy, and overall a wonderful experience. I would recommend anyone in the area go here for a piercing. Even if its your first one, you will be treated well, especially by Angel. I will probably request her every time I can!

I’ve been to this location for piercings twice before and had pleasant enough experiences. The piercers always have great attitudes and walk you through aftercare in detail. I was extremely disappointed when I came in with a friend this afternoon to buy new jewelry and had to listen to the two girls behind the counter talking poorly about my friend & how disgusting customers are as she went in to the bathroom to swap out jewelry. They discussed how the policy is to not allow customers to change their jewelry in store (which is completely valid & understandable), however they did not ask her not to do this or state it was their policy. Instead they decided to wait until she was in the bathroom to talk about her as I stood 2 feet away. Very disappointed and will not be back.

Lexi at the front is AWESOME!!! She’s so sweet ☺️DeEtta was my piercer and she was just as wonderful! Highly recommend and happy to make this my new piercing shop 🥰🥰

Kate is awesome. The entire staff at the North Charleston location is great, thats the only location I go to. Kate literally eased my anxiety before and during my piercing and I was extremely nervous. I love my new piercing and Im sure Ill be getting another one!

This place was fantastic. Arrived early for my appointment, and was in and out in less than 15 minutes. Arrived, picked out jewelry and signed paperwork, waited maybe 5 minutes. Had my nostril piercing done (first piercing besides ears ever) and was out of the room and on my way in less than 5 minutes. Tenya ( I hope I’m spelling that right!) was amazing and I’m so glad I went. Not looking for any other piercings in the future, but if I ever do, I’d be sure to go back there!

The staff here is so kind and patient. We came with three people without an appointment. They did amazing work and were so kind even though we came when they were busy. Definitely coming here for all my piercings Kate was my piercer and Im definitely booking with her again!

I love that appointments can be made 100% online. The girls at the front desk were cool and had an easy process for checking in, paperwork and payment. Angel was our piercer and she was professional, yet fun and explained everything thoroughly. Everything at the shop was clean, well organized and efficient. This was an excellent experience and I cant wait to go back for another piercing.

Came in yesterday to get my cartilage done. It was clean with friendly staff and by far the best pricing Ive seen for piercing/jewelry at the same quality level of other shops. I realized my gem had fallen off while I slept so I went in to buy a new gem as well as a shorter post for when it heals. I ended up not paying for the replacement or the new post. I appreciate their customer service.

I think this is the best area to go to. The body piercer is awesome and very good at walking you through the procedure. Id recommend going here. They are great people and have great jewelry and prices. Lol, dont mind my black eye from the piercing. It was on my bucket list and Im 56 🤣🤣.

Kate Burns (insta @shtburns) was my piercer and she is AMAZING! I Can see why she was voted “Charleston’s Best Body Piercer” in 2021! She’s super nice and made the process as quick as possible. The employees working the front are courteous and helpful if you’re indecisive. Everyone here passes the vibe check for sure! I always recommend this parlor to my friends. 11/10

First time getting a piercing and chose this location because my daughter got her first piercing here and the experience was good. My piercer was Kate Burns. She was awesome! She explained what was going to happen and made me feel comfortable. She even allowed me to squeeze her body with my legs during the piercing lol. Overall it was a great first experience and I definitely would recommend her. She was very nice.

I had so much fun here i got two piercings and they are healing nicely i believe the young ladys name was Kb but regardless the customer service is AMAZING

We had the BEST experience at. Exotic Impressions. Amanda was AMAZING! We scheduled an appointment for one piercing, but she was able to do three for us in the fastest, most professional way possible, and we were out within 30 minutes loving our new piercings! I got my medusa done by Kate today and the place was so clean and organized, the staff is so welcoming and knowledgeable, and Kate made sure i was happy with placement before piercing. Best piercing experience hands down.

I’ve gotten quite a few piercings here, Kate is amazing and was very good walking me through the piercing and it looks amazing. On the other hand Amanda did my septum wrong. It’s completely crooked and I’m not the first one. After talking to my friends that got their septum yesterday they also had Amanda and theirs are more noticeably crooked then mine. She didn’t provide an aftercare sheet (I’m glad I’ve had piercings before that) and she seemed very rushed. Now I understand that they’re booked up pretty well but at least take the time to line your piercings up so someone isn’t stuck with a wonky piercing.

This is the only place me and my family like! the people are so nice, welcoming, and are great with anything. i’ve gotten all my piercings there and have told all my friends to go there. my piercings have all healed nicely and i’ve never had any issues with anything i’ve gotten here

Kate was amazing!! My second piercing done by her and my 4th by exotic impressions. She and her team make the whole experience amazing and totally comfortable. 10/10 always recommending her.

I got my nipples pierced from Exotic Impressions in North Charleston and it was a great experience! The guy (Rhys) that did them was super friendly and explained everything before he did it. As the experience could be somewhat awkward, it was very comfortable for me. I would highly recommend this place! Great employees and it was very clean as well. As I was walking out of the room he was cleaning the room. Overall it was a great experience!

Kate was the one who did my naval piercing, she was very quick, professional and super nice and had some awesome hair too i might add. i’ll definitely come back if i ever get another piercing!

I came today to get my Daithe pierced. Chelsea was wonderful and did a great job. I haven’t got a piercing in over 10 years and she was very assuring and helpful. Very knowledgeable, comforting, & clean establishment. She explained every step along the way. She was such a pleasure to deal with and was quick and pain free for me. Angel is awesome. I got my septum and daith done by her and both of my piercings are beautiful. She takes her time to go over every detail and walks you through the process which I appreciate because it doesnt feel transactional.If you want a piercing done go see her. She will set you right. Very professional, friendly staff. Excellent hygiene and precautions taken seriously. I went to correct uneven ear lobe piercings. They offered the best solution and I love it!! Going back to get another piercing soon!!

The people who work here are very nice however, they have an issue measuring the jewelry. Twice I’ve gone in this store to buy Tunnels for my ears and have received the wrong size. The jewelry isn’t very well organized by sizes so when the CSR pulled them out of the case she measured them both. Each time when I got home to put the jewelry in my ears one piece fit both ears and the other piece wouldn’t fit at all. I like them but I can’t keep wasting my money on jewelry doesn’t fit so I’ll have to look elsewhere to make purchases from now on.

My young daughter had her ears pierced and they did a fantastic job. The piercer, Amanda, was great with my daughter and we all are very happy with the piercing process. We had a longer then expected wait time but everyone was friendly and professional, definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a competent service for young children.

I have had 6 piercings from exotic impressions, and each time was amazing. Clean environment, great staff. Ive only had Matt and Kate do my piercings before, but everyone I have spoken to is very nice and informative. Would highly recommend to anyone and do when asked about my piercings! :)

Angel is hands down the only person I would trust with my piercings. She is so patient and calm. She has pierced my nose and 2nd ears. My nose piercing has come out and she was gracious enough to assist me with putting it back in. Angel listened to my requests and made valuable suggestions for cleaning and healing. The location is clean and professional as well. Highly recommend and dont forget to ask for Angel...she is what her name suggests!

When I lived in North Charleston, I got my dermal piercing done for my 21st birthday. Now that I am almost 25, Ive had a few times where the piercing got irritated but Ive had no reject issues or any other problems with it! My sister definitely liked going there as well for her ears. I get asked did your piercing hurt? And I say My ears hurt worst, I had a good piercer! I dont remember her name but she had very short hair (also 4 years ago 🤣) but it was a great experience. Definitely recommend! It does get busy there but I understand why!

DeEtta did my piercings when I was there and she was absolutely amazing. Such a sweet, and kind soul. Definitely knows what she is doing and will definitely be going back to her again!

I’ve gotten several piercings from Exotic Impressions and they all turned out great! The only reason why I’m giving it 4 stars other than 5 stars was when I got my third lobe piercing and the piercer was kinda short-tempered because when I explained where I wanted my piercing in a kind of confusing way and the piercer rolled her eyes at me and just sounded frustrated with me and sighed. It’s very easy to just ask me to explain it in another way so she could understand it better rather than being frustrated right away. Other than that, great piercings!

I’ve always had nothing but positivity when coming to this shop. They are very professional and they try to get you in and out. I will say that the wait time is ridiculous but it’s worth the wait. I got my nose pierced back in 2016 with no problems. Just recently got my tragus and rook pierced. I’ve no problems with my piercings, especially if you follow the care guidelines. They answered all my questions with ease and I’d recommend them to anyone. Only piercings shop I’ve been to and will continue to go to.

Their customer service is wonderful. My daughter got her ears pierced a few months ago here. They explained very well how to care for her ears and such. Went back in for more earrings and they checked her ears. They are very professional and friendly. Clean and sterile.

I went to Exotic Impressions mid afternoon on a Friday, and was surprised I didn’t have to wait too long. I was greeted by a nice woman at the counter who started me on the usual documents - ID, brief questionnaire, etc. After a short waiting time, August, my piercer, amicably spoke to me and took me back to get started. I wanted two cartilage piercings, she took the time to perfectly place them how I wanted, also avoiding any veins in my ear. They turned out beautifully!! I couldn’t be happier. I will definitely be back for the same set on my other ear when the current ones are done healing. August, you are awesome!! I highly recommend.

I have received several piercings from Kate here. Not only has she been amazing, but her knowledge and advice for best care has been on point. Even when Ive had issues with my old dermal, shes the one who told me how to take care if it so it did not get infected. Shes absolutely the one person I would recommend to anyone!

Angel is an absolute gem! I got my daughters ears pierced at Clairs when she was 3 months old. They did not line them up and one side was awful and completely done wrong. My daughter also had trouble with jewelry and infection and decided to let them close up. Waited years until she was ready again and decided to go see Angel since she did so well with my daith piercing. She corrected the messed up hole and was so gentle and friendly. My daughter is so happy with her new and improved set! Highly recommend!

My first piercing ever was my nose piercing two years ago. I got it done and was treated terrible so I took it out and let it closed. I found this place to open my nose back up and I had the best experience ever and to my surprise my piercer was Melissa (The Owner); she’s amazing and she makes you feel comfortable! I recommend all her shops as first choice!

I got my forward helix done and it’s never twisted on tight enough. The gem keeps falling out and it’s really difficult to put back on myself. I get charged every time to go back and simply get help. At this point, I feel like I’m getting robbed for money to constantly on back. Not worth it anymore. I really love my piercing, but at this rate I’m starting to love it a lot less.

I brought my son in and it was an immaculate experience. Even though i was scared and stood outside, he told me all about the piercing- it was a real quick in & out! Piercer Angel did an awesome job, keeping him calm and comfortable and gave him a nice nose piercing; she even allowed my friend to record the whole process. All and all 10/10, nothing but great here.

Went in with some friends for us all to get piercings and had the best experience! Amanda pierced us all and did an amazing job but she was also very friendly and made us all feel very comfortable. We will definitely go back!

Been here before and service was great. Tonight, piercer Matt was amazing and efficient. HOWEVER, one of the two ladies at the front desk were extremely disrespectful. We had to wait 45 minutes for piercings despite having an appointment. The lady complained about having several people waiting in front of the customers... Then after asking to use their restroom, she made the sarcastic comment “no everyone can use it but you.” Really disappointing....

After calling ahead and driving an **hour** they would not let my 16 yo granddaughter get a piercing, because my ID has a different address. Offered to get a photo of her Moms license but no, Mom would have to be here. I understand but 1) this is not what we were told on the phone and 2) the anemic blonde at the register didnt even *pretend* to care. Done with this lame place.EDIT: Incorrect, we called ahead and specifically asked about this!!! Anemic, as in bloodless, lukewarm, and giving not one demonstrable F about the feelings of a young, goth, potential long-term customer who just drove an *hour* for her Christmas present from her visiting grandmother!

Absolutely love this place! Have gotten all of my piercings done here. I will not go anywhere else.Front of the house is always so polite and the piercer is always so nice and talks you through what they are going to do. Wish I could give more stars!

I got my frenulum pierced on Sunday and was in severe pain for 3 days. I was expecting some pain and swelling so I wasn’t too alarmed since this is a sensitive place to get pierced. Initially, I noticed the piercing was way farther back on my tongue and wasn’t really even on the web at all. I excused this as swelling and continued my aftercare of alcohol free mouth wash and a saline solution. On day three, I notice my tongue had began to swallow the left ball of the piercing. I could barely even see the ball. Maybe a longer bar would have prevented it but I don’t think I even have the correct anatomy for the piercing and wish the piercer would’ve just told me no instead of piercing so far back on my tongue. There were some complications when I was getting it done which was no fault to the piercer. I couldn’t open my mouth wide enough and long enough for her to get the needle in but eventually she did. Anyway, I had another piercer from the same shop remove the embedded piercing which although was a struggle and extremely painful, she was able to get it out. She was supportive and calming me down as she was removing it because she could tell I was in a lot of pain. I appreciate her for that. I am thankful she was able to get it out and she did a good job even though it hurt a lot. I’m giving three stars because this place has some really good piercers but I had a horrible experience with the frenulum.

This place has never disappointed me! Ive been to several different piercing businesses from Savannah to Myrtle Beach and this one is by far my favorite! You cant beat the pricing and the staff is literally the best. They are clean and professional. Matt, the owner even engraved flutes for me that I was giving as a wedding gift. Please give them a try. You wont regret it:)

Only giving them two stars because my piercer handled the situation so well. I went in to get my septum pierced and had TWO failed attempts, both times she only got the jewelry half way through after piercing it with the needle, I spent a total of 15-20 minutes in the chair with her poking another needle in my nose trying to get the jewelry through before I finally asked her to stop. Her hands were shakey and I should of taken that as a sign. She was extremely kind the whole way through and didn’t make me pay and offered to try again another time for free. She handled it so well, very kind person, I just would not suggest you go here for a piercing.

I absolutely love this piercing studio! I have never had any issues with the piercing itself, and Ive received four piercings from them so far. The staff are extremely friendly and professional. One time I brought my new (sometimes misbehaving children) in while I was getting a lip stud replaced and they were understanding and even gave them little temporary tattoos while we were waiting. I would HIGHLY recommend Exotic Impressions for all piercings!

I have gone here for all of my piercings! DeEtta did both of my first lobe piercings and Kate has done both of my second lobes and my helix. All are awesome and I plan to keep adding on with them!

Exotic Impressions studio has been the only piercing studio Ive returned to more than once. You can tell they put pride into their work and love a satisfied customer.Ive had piercings dont and one removed, and each time, there has been a thorough explanation of everything, from the piercing you selected down to aftercare and what to do if something weird happens to it. They take their time and answer any kind of question you may have. The atmosphere is relaxed and friendly. Matt is always friendly and seems to really love his clients, plus he pierces with a gentle hand, so theres no unnecessary force, pressure or pain. I will continue to use this studio for all my future piercings, and would happily recommend them to everyone I know!

Joined my friend getting a few new pieces of jewelry put in and my experience couldn’t have been more phenomenal! I got dermala there about 4 years ago and I had one still holding on! Matt, the piercer offered to go ahead and remove it even though I didn’t have an appointment scheduled! He made an usually uncomfortable moment easy and tolerable! Never had a bad experience and I don’t think I ever will!

I love exotic impressions and I have been going here since I was 15 and I’m now 22. I have been very happy with my experiences here. I’ve gotten everything from a simple nose piercing to my nipples pierced. The only reason I am giving them 4 stars instead of 5 is the recent price increases. It’s weird to come here for years and then the prices rise 10 to 20 dollars higher for piercings.

Amanda helped my daughter and I both get a few piercings!! My daughter got an industrial, snug and her nose pierced, Amanda encouraged her, gave her a little pep talk to help with her nervousness! Plus she made time in her schedule to add one piercing for me, whereas I only had 2 scheduled. She was ultra professional, astute, super cool and kind!!! I highly recommend, together between my daughter and I, 6 piercings done all flawlessly! Amanda is A+++++++ rated imo.

Just got my eyebrow pierced earlier today. Love them! Love my piercing! i had my eyebrow pierced about 8-10 years ago by another place and while i loved having it, the whole experience was horrible.This place was wonderful. As soon as i walked in the door i was cheerily greeted by a nice young man. He answered all of my questions and made sure of everything before i went to the back.My piercer, Eric, was awesome. He was nice and calm throughout, which helped calm my slight nervousness. I got my septum done there today, they were fast to get me in, the whole experience was quick and my piercer Kate was very professional, she sanitized all the tools in front of me, and explained the aftercare very well, I would definitely recommend this place to anybody looking for a piercing!

I went here yesterday, to get my lip periced (vertically) and it was very quick and painless. Amanda did my lip and couldnt be more happy with it. Great atmosphere and service. Guy at front desk was very nice and helpful to. Ill be going back for any other pericings I might want.

The lady working the counter was great and friendly. But the lady who did my piercing was extremely rude, then did it WRONG. It’s been over a year and I’m stuck with this really bulky scar tissue. What was supposed to be a VCH, was 1.5” too high and now it’s just a very ugly scar. Definitely should have gone elsewhere.Since the business replied: I asked for that originally, talked to the piercer when I went back and we had a clarification on what I had wanted / my own confusion on the name. It healed fine but it just looked bad and extremely out of place so I removed it long after it healed. Regardless, I still would have been better off going elsewhere.

Piercing specialist was honest, clean, quick and efficient. Will go there for future piercings and purchases. Update: had hoop put in and within 4 days, nose swelled and infection. Returned on 4th day, original piercer took out hoop and put starter back in. Very gentle, professional, awesome. Not sure how to spell her name, but think DeVan. Dark skin with alot of piercings. So I came to Charleston for a sister trip. Found these place by googling them initially.. Kate and Reese are an awesome team!!!! They are so personable, professional and knowledgable. Kate did my first piercing Wednesday and I told her Ill be back Friday. Never did I have any interest in going anywhere else after meeting them and chatting with them. They are an amazing pair. Kate thank you for the pep talk about my naval piercing and believe me Im coming back in about 8 months for that one. Reese thank you for being so kind and patient. Dont you guys change for no one!!

I have never had a piercing done so well!!! The staff was amazing and my dermals were completely painless! The pricing is great as well. After a pricey and expensive experience at the museum of living arts it was a relief to have someone who knew what they were doing!

Ive always had a great experience here! In November the female piercer was changing out my gauges and warned me that the next step down would be pretty painful. I went back in today and even though she was right, Reese was very helpful, informative, and educated me on what to look for going forwards! Deetta was very helpful with jewelry selection and advise on the best option for where I am in the process. Would definitely recommend this place!

Ive been to exotic impressions soooo many times, and literally every single time it has been nothing but amazing. Ive been to all of the piercing places around North Charleston and Hollys absolutely sucks (and now out of business). Ive also went to the museum of the living arts (I only went there because I had a buy one get one free coupon) and I mean, theyre alright.. but theyre nowhere NEAR Exotic Impressions. They REALLY care about customer service and Ive never seen that anywhere else. Ive never had a problem with a piercing being crooked or something from them. Theyre super clean (my mother is a pharmaceutical sales rep and she gives them an A+). I just absolutely love them. I recommend Matt because he really knows his stuff! Hes done most of my piercings (and my friends) and hes really nice and makes me less nervous about the pain.

Ive gotten all but two of my piercings here and they always come out as well as I expect. The one time I had issues, it was my fault from being lazy with aftercare (snakebites had a layer of skin grow over them and had to have them popped through). Sometimes the wait can be long, but with being one of the most suggested piercing places, its to be expected.Super happy to keep recommending Exotic Impressions and cant wait til the next time I have money to get more metal in my face!

Great personal experience here. As soon as I walked in, I was greeted and welcomed and got the paperwork done right away. They helped select my jewelry for the Monroe piercing, paid and in no time at all I was walking out the door. My piercer was Eric. Really down to earth guy, talked to me the whole time and made me feel at ease (considering I was being a big whimp) and they replace the long posts for free after the swelling goes down, which is an awesome feature. Overall, definitely would recommend to anyone thats wanting to get a piercing done!! No doubt would I go back in the future !

I love these guys. I went there 2 years ago, this month, and was terrified, but I wanted to get my nostril pierced. Matt talked to me the whole time he was setting up and eventually had me laughing so hard that I didnt realize what had happened until he was putting the jewelry in. Since then, I have had two more piercings and will be visiting them again very soon for my fourth one. All of my piercings have healed beautifully and they all look great. Great place, great staff and great service. I highly recommend this place.

Ive gone twice now, most recently to get my septum pierced. the girl up front was friendly and informative. I think Ive had the same guy both times and both times hes been extremely chill and kept up good conversation. Ive not had any problems with either piercing and Im definitely coming back for my next one!

Today, I went in to get my navel pierced. I was fortunate enough to have Matt as my piercer, and let’s just say he was amazing! He was very informative, clean, and a good conversationalist. I highly recommend this establishment, along with Matt!

I had a very negative experience at the North Charleston Exotic Impressions, and can’t recommend it based on my experience. The lady at the front counter was very unprofessional. She was eating an egg McMuffin Sandwich the whole time she was dealing with us and taking our payment and it was kind of gross and unprofessional. Additionally, we were the amongst the first people to come into the store about ten minutes after it opened. A bunch of people then proceeded to come in after us. The lady at the front completely forgot us and was allowing other people to get pierced who had come in after us. When I addressed her about it, she admitted she made a mistake and said we would be next. Then she turned right around and called up another person who had come after us to get pierced. When I asked her about this a second time, she was pretty rude and just blew me off. No apology or anything. We finally did go next, but we ended up waiting about an hour to get pierced when we were one of the first couple of people to arrive. Needless to say, I won’t be back. The customer service and lack of professionalism was pretty disappointing.

I absolutely adore Exotic Impressions! Matt and Melissa are just amazing and generous people. Though I only have one piercing I will come back for more! They are the only shop I will ever go to For piercings! Theyre clean, safe and so kind!

Piercer was super helpful and very sweet and understanding but the girl with dyed hair who greets you at the counter was kind of rude. Other than that, everything was pretty reasonable, place was clean, prices werent bad, and they were quick.

Staff is always friendly and treats people like family. They use new instruments with each person and sterilize everything too. Super clean! The peircers are caring and cautious, giving you cleaning instructions after too! I wouldnt go to any other peircing parlor.

I came here because of the reviews and it was a Horrible experience! The girl who works register on Sundays is rude and told me they wont schedule appointments but as long as I was here by 530 Id be seen. I came at 5:15 and they refused to see me. I drove 45 mins to get there. I called them out on it and they angrily told me I could wait and see. She ended up taking me, but I didnt get much info on care for my lip piercing. She through a packet at me and had me leave. The piercing literally fell out 4 days after I got it. I had to research care on my own. After going back she made me wait over an hour before I could even show her what happened. I understand its a piercing parlor and not the Ritz, but I work in customer service and I cant stand seeing a business so poorly run. After sitting here for two weeks now I have seen them turn away 15 people who wanted piercings and they were told it was walk in too. Just wanted an accurate review posted- I saw the 4 stars and went with it and it was horrible! Ive had 5 people ask where I got it pierced and Ive told all 5 to go else where.

Amanda is the BEST!!!! She’s very knowledgeable and gentle. She did my nose and tragus piercings. It was a piece of cake. It’s been 3 weeks since my nose piercing and it’s doing absolutely wonderful most of all it looks BEAUTIFUL and for my tragus it’s been a week I have no pain at all it’s healing very well and I’m VERY pleased. I LOVE this place and I Recommend Amanda for your piercings.

Ive been going to Exotic Impressions for about 9 years. Ive had many piercings done by Striker, might have had one or two by Matt, and several by Katie. Everyone is always friendly and professional. I did try other shops in my many, many years of putting holes in my body but Exotic Impressions is definitely my favorite!!

I went to Exotic Impressions for the first time ever tonight and I will definitely be back for all my piercing needs.I very recently had my tongue webbing (or frenulum) pierced at a different shop, and everything was fine the day I got it done. Then today, I woke up with a little swelling...as a new piercing would normally do. Only it was very painful and what made things worse, was that one of the beads fell off. This is normally not a problem, except this time it was. Usually I can manage by myself if a bead comes off - having had 20+ piercings in my life time, but this time I couldnt. This is because the stem of my barbell was waaaaay too short, and combined with a swollen, tender area, it was almost impossible to get the bead on.I looked up more piercing shops in the area, and at the time this one was open. I flew there from West Ashley, and it was definitely worth it. The minute I walked in the door, I was greeted by a very nice young man who I explained my problem to. Immediately he knew that what the previous shop did was wrong. I didnt need a straight barbell, I needed a curved one. I didnt need a short bar, I needed one longer for swelling. He was very professional in helping me pick out jewelry and sent me to the piercing room to wait to be seen.I didnt even wait a full minute before a friendly Kate walked in and asked me what was going on. She was very knowledgeable, fast, and gentle with changing out my piercing. She also gave me the CORRECT aftercare (I knew a lot about aftercare, but never for an oral piercing since this was my first besides my snakebites). I also saw how amazing this place was when a few last minute customers came through the door, and even though they were closing in ten minutes, still were willing to serve them. I love that in any business!I know this review is hella long, and its actually my first one ever, but I just had to review this amazing business. If I had a time machine, I would have just come here instead to save myself the pain and money (after hearing their prices, I feel ripped off from the other place). And speaking of pain, now I dont even notice that my piercing is there really because it hurts a lot less than it did earlier.Thanks Exotic Impressions!

This body piercings Exotic Impressions was so clean and OMG they took care of everyone like they were special. The part I love was you got a buzzer that went off when it ws your turn. The 2 young ladies that took care of me made me want another piercing and all I went there for was now Jewelry. They have all the latest jewelry. The young lady with the shaved head and tattoos changed my piercings she was so gentle she did it and said all done I never felt her even take them out LOL. If you want a piercing this is the place to go. They get full but they are clean ,fast and worth spending your money with them.

Exotic Impressions is my absolute favorite place to be pierced. They have the best prices in town, by far.I love that they offer high end jewelry, but dont force you to purchase it. Its nice that they respect your right to choose.

Typically for this delicate piercing (nipple) I would’ve preferred a female, however, when I got it done a little over a year ago Matt did it. He was kind, personable, and professional. He made me feel comfortable. Plus he did it with ease with short/little to hardly any pain. This time almost two years later I had to get my nip repierced after taking it out after I changed it too soon messing it up.Kate did it this time and her demanor was cold & curt. She wasnkt personable and she did not make me feel comfortable. She took longer to get the job done thus making the experience more painful. It started bleeding and when I asked for a bandaid she said she didn’t have any only gauze and tape, but did not offer me any. I had to ask for it. I told her thanks and she was silent; did not reply. My experience with her was unwelcoming and pitiful compared to my other experiences there. I’ve also had a dermal done to my wrist a few years ago. That experience was also better compared to today. I’m glad I didn’t tip her, because she did not deserve it. Attitude rude & dry. 🙃

I just came in today for a piercing. Eric was very quick and while it did hurt a little, my piercings were so fast I didnt have time to dwell on the pain. I forgot the young man who was behind the counter, but he was sooo sweet and knowledgable. I definitely will come back and will also recommend you guys to all of my friends

I have had my industrial and tongue piercings done here. Its the only place to go and I highly recommend it to anyone. Theyre so friendly, fast, and knowledgeable, and the facility is always clean. You cant beat the pricing either. I wont go anywhere else.

I love this place I got all of my piercings from here!! The only bad experience I had was on yesterday! I did not realize what time the shop close and I came 15mins before closing time and was rushed. Picked out jewelry to find out the piercer did not have any tools and I had to come back. Came back the next day to have to wait !! I don’t complain about anything but it doesn’t matter what time it is as long as the sign say open they should be open to serve customers if not turn the lights out. Very un happy with my visit on yesterday and today.

Got my navel pierced here, the piercer wasnt all that friendly but was very quick. She did pierce it crooked. Could have been my fault though. The girl who sold me my ring up front was sick. Also have to tip with card before you get pierced, which isnt fair. I tipped 30% but wouldnt have if i knew what i know now.

While I couldnt get the industrial piercing I wanted, since my ear just isnt shaped correctly for it, the lady at the front counter was more than willing to change my order to a simple cartilage piercing. I got pierced by Amanda and she did it quickly and cleanly, didnt let me make any sort of big deal out of it, which I greatly appreciate.

My daughter and I arrived at the North Charleston location around 7:30 pm. We waited for about 15 mins (7:45 pm) before the lady behind the counter acknowledged us; only to be told that they stopped piercing at 7:30. Are you freaking serious?? You could have told us this as soon as we walked through the door!!! Will not return!!!

I saw Amanda and she was amazing. Quick, professional, knowledgeable, I loved my experience. I was a walk in and there was no one there so it was super quick. Paperwork, ring, pay, pierced. I was out in less than 20 minutes.

Angel pierced my nose and put it in the wrong spot. I specifically told her where I wanted it and what look I was going for. After getting the piercing you could still see the ink where she DID NOT pierce in the correct spot. Spoke with her about my issue and she wanted me to pay an additional $5 for her to correct. I shouldn’t have to pay additional money on top of what I already paid and tipped for her screw up. She insisted that she was not wrong. I highly WOULD NOT recommend if I could give ZERO stars I would!

I came here years ago when they first opened . I remember a husband and wife duo.. super awesome super sweet . I had like 4 piercing done here back then. Came in today for another piercing . two girls were short and Blount .. not much hospitality .. I am ok with that since I have had few piercings and just wanted to get it done. what about the people that come in for their first piercing ? .. place is clean but it lost that sparkle for me

I wanted to celebrate my recent weight loss with a Daith and Forward Helix piercing. I could not have been more satisfied with the experience I received from Kate. I felt comfortable from the moment I walked in. Greeted by a very nice guy that was happy to help me.

Every piercing Ive received from this shop has been absolute the WORST. I have received 3 piercings from Exotic Impressions plus I have bought a nose hoop from here. All of them have resulted in keloids/a lot of pain/redness/scarring even though I take very good care of my piercings. They use external threading and poor grade metal. IT IS NOT WORTH THE MONEY!!!You truly get what you pay for. Do yourself a favor, save months of pain and just go to Museum of Living Arts. It may be more expensive but hey at least its clean and you wont have to pay for someone else to re pierce it correctly later :-)

Kate did 3 of my peircings, she was amazing for each one. I was new to that style peircing so I had 1 million questions.. all of which Kate had answers and suggestions to. I will most definitely go back to her when Im ready for my next one!

I got my both of my daiths peirced a few weeks ago and then came back to get them changed. Today, my ball fell off of one of them and I went to the store to get another one. They closed 20 minutes early. Now, I have to have new bars and balls put in by my husband since the other ball is gone. When I got here, 4 other people were standing outside and said that they closed early. Good at peircing, bad at keeping a schedule.Update: I went back to the shop today to get another ball because I couldnt get another one on. While I was there, I spoke with management. He apologized and said that there was no excuse for what had happened and that there not being a sign was wrong as well. He replaced my ball, which I paid for and then gave me a pair of hemostats and 2 extra balls in case it happens again. I would very much so recommend this shop. I made this review so that management saw it and I had every intent of returning because they do an excellent job and for my first major peircings, they have been incredibly easy and this shop did a great job with them.

I had my industrial pierced here 01-04-19 for my 18th birthday. The woman who did it pierced it incorrectly. Both sides of my ear were being pulled together because it was pierced way too low. It put so much pressure on the middle part of my ear that it started to go into my ear. My cartilage is now permanently messed up and looks deformed. I’m just now leaving a review because apparently I’ll never be able to get it re-done do to the damage done to my cartilage.Thanks.

I just got my belly button pierced last week and this place is where you need to go. The staff is amazing!! It felt very comfortable,thanks to the staff. The shop is very cleaned.You must go here, if you need any type of piercing done.

I went in to get my ears repeirced and they were really slow, only had one person piercing ears and working the front on a Saturday I sat for over an hour. They didn’t even get my name, no ID, no paperwork no anything; they don’t even have a record that I was there. The earring they gave me was too big of a gage and didn’t match the top of the ear ring and kept falling out so the next day I had to drive all the way back up there for another piece of jewelry. The employees didn’t act very professional , just not a pleasant experience and I don’t plan on ever going back.In reply to your response on my review, first off yes they re pierced my ear by sticking metal through a closed hole but call it want you want it, secondly yes it was busy on a Saturday and there was ONE front desk staff and ONE piercer. And third yes I picked out my own jewelry from y’all but yes your jewelry was defected and the inside bar was stripped out and didn’t screw on correctly therefore it fell it and regardless if I picked it out or not how am I supposed to know that your jewelry was broke? But yes forunatly they did replace it the next day after I drove back up there 35 mins away and did I get an apology nope not at all, but it doesn’t surprise me seeing that you are the owner and are writing back with no apology no solutions and your quite defensive. But have a nice day :)

I would give this location a 4.5.The man who pierced my ears did not introduce himself, didnt ask me or the people I brought with me how they are doing.And its been a two years since I had my ears done, and I was clearly nervous I made it VERY obvious lol. And some piercers would try to calm their customers down, but he did. You know, little conversation you have before you start. He didnt tell me the after care of my piercings or how long they would take to heal, or you know thank you for coming in etc. He just handed me a brochure and smiled. BASICALLY HE WAS NOT INFORMATIVE. But the piercing was quick and simple, and the guy who worked front desk was very sweet and was happy to answer my questions. Bottom line is, I really hope the piercer couldve been more uh nice.

The piercer wasnt very friendly or informative. He did not introduce himself or attempt to comfort me as I got my helix pierced. The piercing was done with no pain. The workers there were the best part. Very friendly and informative!

Went with my friend to get a piercing and the girl who pierced her nose was very rude and had a nasty attitude.. her initials are KB.. not sure of her full name but she has a green short hair cut with side shaved and a tattoo on her head.. I will never allow her to pierce me or my friends again. I bragged about this location and she acted like she didnt want to do her job.. very bad look.. I only recommend Matt from here on

Not the best experience. Got my tongue pierced on 8-15-18. Expected some swelling and difficulty eating and drinking. But did not expect for the mouth wash they told me to use to hurt my healing process. Went in yesterday on the 18th and was told that biotene mouthwash was the reason my tongue had a white, green, brown and purple look to it. Overnight my tongue got worse. It now looks infected. Going in today to get it taken out. Not worth the pain. Haven’t been able to eat in almost 3 days and haven’t been able to drink in 2. Hopefully they can help because this is uncalled for. Followed the exact directions they gave me for aftercare and this happened after only 3 days. Very disappointed.

Do not go to this place I got my snake bites and snake eyes done here (lip and tongue piercing) on separate occasions done by separate piercers ... and both times they pierced my piercings extremely crooked! It looks absolutely ridiculous. So point is dont go here cause theyll make your piercing extremely sideways or crooked and not aligned

She was very informative and took my recent piercing experience incosideration due to excessive swelling and gave me the correct length for my lip! Will be coming back for all my piercings!

Got a triple helix and I am so happy these people rock Amanda did my piercings today (edit) after 8 months all my piercings failed the top was pouring blood this morning after I took it out cause it was sore and a little swollen it was the only one that did heal the bottom 2 failed around the 5 month mark collapse and was pus filled today the top collapsed and I will never do business here again even though my family swears this wouldnt happen if I went back for Kate 2nd set of piercings from this parlor that failed miserably and they dont provide refunds or re piercings for the failed ones down 140 for the triple helix and down by 200 for the snake bites from 5 yrs ago that failed after a week and even if you do follow the strict guidelines for cleaning and care they still blame you as the customer for failed piercings

CHELSEA was AMAZING!!!! She was very professional and friendly! She also answered all our questions with cordiality and kindness! You can tell she really LOVES her job!

The best place to get any piercing done! Both times I went to get my daith (2-26-18) and industrial (6-12-18) everybody was super helpful and friendly. I’m definitely coming back for more in the future.

I couldn’t believe how well the person how pierced my nose did I mean it was great and very clean all the equipment used on me was brand new and I saw her open every one of them she was great and new exactly what she was doing and I will be returning there to get more piercings I’m probably going to go there in the next week to get more and they have a great selection of jewelry and it’s very clean there in the staff is great and very helpful and nice and that’s what’s most important I would recommend it for anyone to go there to get a piercing for your first time or numerous times they’re great there

If I could put a 0 star i would but on friday the 8th i got a dermo done and on sunday the jewelry came out I called them before 1pm like 12:42 pm and explained to the young girl who answered the phone and she told me I had to pay to change it out I said no I not charging it out I need it put back in have no idea why it would of came out but it did and I still had the jewelry she said come in we close at 6pm so I said I will come by so I called again at 4:36pm and asked once again what time you close she said 6pm so I went there about 5:30 and the 2 young girls said its a charge I said how because it should not have came out and told her look into the papers I signed on friday she said no need and just come back tomorrow I said no so I went in waiting room sat there the same 2 young girls said you need to come back Tomorrow our last piercing is at 5:30pm I still refused to leave and said it wasnt right and they both said bye and come back tomorrow so while I was leaving out the piercing lady Angel said if I had my paperwork and I pulled it out she told me last piercing was at 5:30 and said yeah it was done by Amanda on Friday but to go into my car for 10 minutes and try to put it in myself turn it to the right and it sure work if not go back inside and she would do it for free I never went to my car I waited in the waiting room and she angel called me back with this attitude and rushed me out after putting it in by saying she needed to clean up and I said why did it come out it should not have she said it was swallowing not 1 redness I say before I had her redue it so not sure what swallowing it was I cleaned it since day 1 and the only time it was red when she angel replaced it I would not go back to them all three 3 were so rude and ugly to me so I wouldnt go back I rate them a zero

I’ve not only gotten multiple piercings from this location, but also purchase all of my jewelry from here as well! It is always clean, feels completely safe, and the people who work there are so awesome!!

Havent been pierced in 16 yrs & Im not a big fan of needles so Ive kept my piercings so bare minimum such as ears & tongue. So when I wanted to get my Daith done I was so out the loop of where to go. Asked on FB & everybody hands down pointed here. Needless to say Ive been back 3 different occasions getting different piercings. Lol. Employees are nice, helpful & down to earth. And what I most love is they dont nickel & dime you for every little thing. Example: needed help putting a earring back in or I wanted 3 off something pierced so I could get the discount of the multiple piercing, but was skeptical if my body would reject it...dude that was piercing was like wait Ill still give the discount. I dont want you to pay for something when you are unsure just to get a discount. Which help because my body did reject the dermal. cool place cool people!

Today my sister, my mother, and I all decided to be spontaneous and each get piercings. My mother got her cartlidge peirced where Katniss had hers in Catching Fire, she was very impressed when they knew what she was talking about. My sister and I got our triple helix peirced, and although it was EXTREMELY painful (my pain tolerance is utterly terrible) they took great care of use and made sure we got through it. The service is great, and it is the only place my family gets piercings.

Got my first ever piercing (industrial) done 3 weeks ago...going back today for a nose piercing. They were professional and super cool....Im very pleased!

My friends and I drove an hour out and they wouldn’t let my friend get her peircing. We checked the website and called ahead to see if my friends sister (which is her guardian) could sign for her. Once we got all the way down there they told us that she couldn’t sign without legal papers saying she was the guardian. (who would bring legal papers with them on a beach trip??). It was a bit ridiculous that we drove down here expecting a peircing and left with nothing after we reasured that her sister/guardian could sign for her. Waste of gas and waste of our time.

Been here twice and the piercers make you feel like y’all have known each other for longer than a minute haha. much better experience with quality and friendliness here than i did at Museum of Living Arts.

Ive been going here for my piercings since high school with I got my second hole on my ear lobe and Im now at 10 piercings! These guys are amazing and have a great atmosphere.

When the front counter staff cant tell you what the metal content of their jewelry is, youre in the wrong place. Plus all of the jewelry Ive seen offered is externally threaded, which is questionable in a fresh peircing. Body modification is not the feild you should be bargain shopping in.

Studio is always filled with customers ....Got pierced by Amanda 3 weeks ago and she’s freaking awesome... she pierced my rook and my two sisters and nieces daith... I get a little anxious with needles, but she talked me through the process and everything turned out great!

Before heading over to this place we have thoroughly went through the website for reviews and comments on this place. The Westside does not explain about having to make appointments any shape or form and what we got here they told us that its required to have appointment set up. Overall was very displeased and frustrated. Will not ever come back to this place
