MOLA Piercing and Fine Jewelry

We went in today to get new flatback earrings for my 5 year old. The staff was incredibly friendly, the shop was exceptionally clean and staff was very knowledgeable. Vivyana changed my daughter’s earrings and told us how to clean them, etc. I wish we had come here for her initial piercings because it was a much better experience than the place we went. I will definitely be back if we get another piercing or need quality jewelry. Thank you!!

I had the best, most fun experience I’ve ever had with a piercing. If you’re thinking of getting something done, go here. The studio is beautiful, the staff are an absolute delight, and I will absolutely be back.

Ive got 8 different piercings(7 cartilage and 1 eyebrow) and they all were perfect. The piercers are fantastic and so caring and thoughtful and thorough. When i wasnt feeling good they gave me candy and water. I love them so much and feel so safe at mola

I am usually intimidated by piercing places but MOLA feels very welcoming. As soon as I walked in the staff were very friendly and nice. I already had some piercings and I wanted to switch out the jewelry. They had a large collection of jewelry with beautiful pieces. The staff helped me select the pieces I wanted and was attentive to my price range. I then went to the back where the other staff member switched out my jewelry. I would definitely recommend this place and will probably come back to get my next piercing!

Rogan pierced my 6 yo daughter’s ears. He is awesome! Cannot say enough great things about Rogan, Ashe (who helped her pick out her jewelry and was very clear about pricing), and MOLA. Rogan talked her through the whole process and made it fun and easy for her. She didn’t cry at all, and he was so quick! Highly recommend! Excellent experience for my daughter!!!

Had such a great experience here today. Came in for my appointment and Ashe helped me pick out the perfect piece for my new septum ring. I thought that with having to have a horseshoe ring I would have limited options but they helped me pick out the most divine piece—rose gold titanium metal with lavender opal captive beads. It’s stunning! Rogan did my piercing and took such great care of me. I’ve had piercings and procedures done before but he really went above and beyond to make sure the positioning was perfect and that I was comfortable. 100% recommend the wonderful folks at MOLA.

Rogan was INCREDIBLE! I highly, HIGHLY recommend. I was in the room when my young-adult daughter got her nose pierced and I was blown away by how kind, calming, and professional he was. He gave detailed instruction with kindness and humor every step of the way. It’s apparent that he is skilled at reading his customers and caring for them according to their personalities and needs.After he washed his hands, he put on a pair of gloves and began prepping for the procedure. The instruments came in sterile packaging. After his first few steps of arranging things at the prep table, he removed his gloves and put on a fresh pair before the actual piercing. He had given a helpful analogy of what the nose piercing would feel like and described how the eyes would tear up, not from pain but from the proximity of the nose to the tear ducts. Sure enough, it was exactly how he described it.I told Rogan that he was so much better than many nurses and doctors we’ve encountered over the years at making people feel comfortable during procedures. He humbly stated that he gets to do the fun stuff while they are often dealing with sickness. Good point, but STILL! He was putting a needle through my daughter’s face. I’d say he deserves the compliment! 😉My daughter’s friend got her piercings next and while I wasn’t in the room, I could hear laughter and more calm talking. When she was finished, she had beautiful second holes and earrings in both ears.Ashe was also so incredibly friendly and was a great help with the jewelry selection, pricing, waivers, and aftercare instructions. We had fun conversation while waiting!Oh, and the decor is so cute!What a friendly, enjoyable, caring group of people at MOLA!

Wonderful staff! Extremely clean facility. They take their time in examining the area you want to get pierced and suggest ring that will appropriately fit. Ring is then sterilized prior to inserting. Love that he explained everything prior to starting and as he was doing it.To reply to some negative reviews I saw….this is an APP certified piercing studio and not Claire’s. Yes it may seem pricey but you are paying for quality work that will last and not get infected(as long as you clean as instructed).

Went here for the second time yesterday (first time for a nose piercing and ear piercing jewelry change). Everyone that works there is always so nice, professional, informative, and helpful. I’ve never felt rushed and always felt taken care of. Will always be my go to for piercings!

I would like to start off by saying that the staff here are super friendly and welcoming. I am so happy with my septum, flat, forward helix, and navel piercings! I felt welcomed in upon walking in the door, and everything was done in a timely manner! Thank you to Rogan, Ashe, Michael, and Austin for being friendly, patient, and super accommodating. Its been way too long since I got an upgrade. Im picky af but the jewelry selection is super impressive. No matter your taste theres gonna be something for you. Lauras experience shows but apparently every piercer there is APP certified. You cant go wrong.

I visited the downtown MOLA location this week and had the most enjoyable experience. The second I walked in for my appt. I could feel the fun and friendly vibe from the 2 girls working there.Ashley (I hope Im getting her name right) was working the desk and showed me some options and helped me feel comfortable and confident.Then Vivyana took me back for my piercing. She was so sweet and friendly, putting me right at ease. The studio was clean and comfortable.I was pierced at the West Ashley location 4 years ago, and had returned to change out my stud for a hoop (in my nose) and had just as a pleasant experience as I did the first time when Laura (the owner) pierced me.I would recommend MOLA to anyone looking for a piercing or had a child wanting piercing. I had a phenomenal experience at MOLA. Every staff member I encountered was extremely respectful, honest, and intent on making sure I was comfortable and pleased with my experience. I had the distinct pleasure of meeting Ashe, Kae, and Rogan. Rogan was my piercer and he was fantastic. He has wonderful bedside manner and made me feel comfortable the entire time. I had a really great experience! The guy up front (didnt get his name) was very friendly. Also, Ive never been to a place where you have a variety of jewelry to pick from for your piercing! Mike did my piercing. He was very professional, explained everything before I even had my ear pierced, and made the whole process painless.

I found MOLA when my daughter had a bad piercing experience at Claires (like so many others). I called MOLA to ask for advice on what to do (the holes seemed crooked and we had trouble getting the earrings in and out. They were so nice and recommended that we let them grow in and have them pierced by a real studio once they were healed. I was so grateful for the time they spent helping me when I wasnt their problem. They were just being kind. So naturally this is where I went when it was time to get my daughters ears re-pierced (at their beautiful downtown location). Our piercing artist was Rogan and he was AMAZING. I was blown away by how kind, warm, funny, attentive and gentle he was with my daughter. He spoke directly to her (shes only 6!) as his client and made sure she was 100% happy with everything he was doing. He is AMAZING with kids - cannot overstate this - hes just a good person who cares - makes such a difference in an experience like this. Also he is a perfectionist. He made sure the holes were precise in alignment, which I appreciated so much. We will definitely only go here from now on - their jewelry selection is gorgeous by the way. They are great to buy jewelry from even if you dont need a piercing right now.

Got my nose pierced today and I can‘t recommend them more! Everything is super clean and safe, you are given the opportunity to ask whatever questions you may have and are talked through the process before and during. My friend got her conch piercing there today as well and her first words after getting her piercing were “it looks even better than I imagined!”. If you want to get pierced by people who know what they’re doing and will make you feel comfortable through the whole process then I 100% recommend. Future piercings will definitely be gotten with them.

I got my second holes in my ears done by Brian at MOLA. I loved how consent focused he was and how he explained everything that was going to happen. We also decided together on earring placement. He has a great eye for what looks good where.When I returned to size down my post, Rogan helped me. He is incredibly kind and gentle and I would recommend him for any particularly sensitive placed piercings.The studio is clean, the jewelry is high quality, and I felt like I got my money’s worth. I will definitely be back.

Awesome place :) I was a little nervous as an openly trans guy to get a piercing but everyone there is so nice! Love the team, sterile and clean studio, and they prepare for any mishaps that can happen bc of piercing (lightheadedness, etc). 100% recommend for a great experience

I came in to order new jewelry for my double tragus piercings. Everyone is kind and patient and even cleaned the piercing for me without hurting me at all and at no cost since I bought the jewelry.They’re not the cheapest place if that’s your goal but it’s art after all… after a previous experience somewhere else where they were super rough changing out my backs to shorter post- I would much rather pay a little more & know I’m getting good jewelry & clean/gentle service. I went in for a regular nose piercing the first week in August last year (almost a full year ago now). The staff was nice and the place was clean. But the girl upsold me hardcore by only showing me gold options and not letting me know I could choose titanium. Then the piercing was done at a bad angle so I kept getting irritation bumps up until today when I finally decided to take it out and be done with it because the bumps kept peeling off, bleeding, scabbing, and re-forming. I went to the west ashley location in February where the girl confirmed the bad angle and said they would re-process and re-pierce it for me, but since the first time was a disappointment, I wont be trying it again.

I came in Monday expecting to just do a piercing change and found out I had accidentally scheduled myself to get an earlobe piercing. I had been thinking of getting them done and it was a pleasant surprise. Halo did an amazing job of helping me pick out new pieces and decide which ones would look best on each side. Michael, the piercer, was so nice and explained what he was doing during the whole process. I was a little nervous and he made me feel very at ease. The whole process was quick and the placements are perfect. The whole place is extremely clean and the selection of pieces is amazing! I will definitely be back.

I had a great experience here when I got my conch pierced. It was very pleasant and straightforward. All of the jewelry I was shown was absolutely stunning. The guy who did my piercing very clearly and thoroughly explained the after care/procedure. He gave me a longer post on my earring to accommodate swelling but I ended up swelling a little more than the bar accommodated for. When I went back to switch to an even longer post they were so nice about and helped me out with no charge. Its a little pricey but worth it! 100% would recommend.

I went to MOLA yesterday because my nostril piercing was irritated and I started bleeding. I got there and from the get go they were so welcoming and easy to talk to. Vivyana recommended I replace my ring for a stud and she helped me out. They were extremely patient and got things done quickly and efficiently. While the jewelry is a little pricey, it’s better to have pricey jewelry that doesn’t make your skin react than cheap jewelry that will give you an infection. I will be coming back here to eventually go back to a hoop and think everyone should come here! Thanks again Vivyana!!

I had such an incredible experience here. Halo and Rogan were so kind to me and helped answer all my questions, of which i had SEVERAL. it was so painless and swift, i felt very comfortable and informed about the different types of jewelry available and how to care for the piercing (i got a septum piercing). all of my piercing experiences i’ve had so far have been either mediocre or just plain terrible and i have three piercings in my ear, so you can imagine how thrilled i was with the experience i had here. definitely recommend coming to this place. the staff is kind, the environment itself is so welcoming and clean and they care about your piercing as much if not more than you will! :)

10/10 best piercing experience I’ve ever had. Zach did my front nostrils, talked me through the whole thing, and did an amazing job. The placement is even better than I could have imagined on myself and they’re so symmetrical. Halo also was extremely helpful in picking out jewelry that was affordable for me and making sure that pricing was okay with me before we moved forward with anything. They also gave detailed aftercare advise and were just as excited as I was to see how it turned out. Best piercing experience I’ve ever had in Charleston, hands down.

I have had 3 piercings done here and could not be happier!I just got my third piercing here a few days ago and the piercing looks great and is healing so quickly!Brian did my rook piercing the other day and he was super informative, nice and fun! He had everything ready to go for me as soon as I walked in the door!I cannot remember who did my first 2 piercings because it was almost 2 years ago but I do remember her being super awesome!I have had great experiences at MOLA and will be back very soon!

I’m new to the area and found MOLA via the APP website. I was pierced by Brian, who explained step by step what he was doing and made me confident I was in good hands. I have 10+ piercings and know this is a good place, so I’ll definitely be back and would recommend others come here for a high quality and safe piercing experienceEdit: For those complaining about price, their pricing is standard for high quality shops. They carry expensive pieces but also have plenty of more inexpensive options, like titanium. I’m not sure why people assume these services to be a certain price point - you do not want to spend $50 total on piercings folks! Call the shop if you have no idea what you’re walking into :-)

Found this shop listed in the APP database after having some trouble with a nostril piercing I had done at a different shop. Staff is friendly and very informative, and made a newbie like myself feel welcome and not out of place with my lack of knowledge. They answered my questions regarding my piercing (soothed my worries that it was botched) and got me fitted with a better quality stud for less irritation. I want a hoop and have plans to go back in a few months when I’m back in the area and fully healed. Brian was who I worked with and he was great. I’m glad I have a reliable shop to go to now that I trust will give me the proper care and take the time to do the job right. Thanks!

I cannot say enough good things about this place.Firstly: the ability to make an appointment on their website SO CONVENIENT!!Second: their jewelry selection was hands down some of the most beautiful art, YES I SAID ART, I’ve ever seen. The most beautiful pieces of jewelry I’ve ever seen. Yes they are not cheap, but you are putting something ON AND INSIDE YOUR BODY!! You want it to be top of the line. I got a cute little bumble bee for my nostril piercing and I’m obsessed.Third: the people who work there are some of the sweetest human beings alive. My piercer was Rogan and he is so PRECIOUS. He took the time to explain everything in detail. Any time he put anything near my face he explained what he was doing and what it was for so my nerves were immediately so calm. He was so professional and honestly I think my piercing hurt less because of the way he talked to me.I literally cannot believe this place exists. They’ve won multiple awards because of the amazing work they do and it makes so much sense. If you’re thinking about using this place for a piercer. Do it. Don’t think twice and book ASAP. Best day ever!!

I stopped by MOLA the other day downtown because of a piercing emergency. Halo was very warm and insightful with the situation as well as kind and welcoming, considering it was my first experience there. Zach helped me with switching my jewelry out to something much safer and it’s doing better already! They’re a great team and I 100% recommend visiting them. I will definitely be going back In the near future. 10/10.

I am from out of town and wish I could get any future piercings done here too! I was a walk-in and was SO impressed! Halo walked me through options and I could tell they truly enjoyed educating and helping me pick. Michael did the piercing and had careful attention to detail and a calm demeanor. Even though I didn’t have an appointment, they were accommodating and were not at all ‘put off’; their conversation with us about piercings and general conversation was organic and comfortable. I felt like they cared as much as if it was their own piercing. They also looked up (without me even asking them to) a reputable piercer home in KC to go to when it was time to get a shorter bar (when expected swelling goes down). Thank you both so much!

Fantastic experience! My only other piercing experience before this was Claires so I really wasnt sure what to expect. My sister and I went together- she had her nose done and I had my helix done. Rogan was absolutely fantastic. He went over everything clearly with us while also being humorous/keeping our spirits up despite the nerves!Fair warning, the jewelry is expensive. Both my sister and Is totals were around $200 for reference. However, its fantastic quality and 100% worth it!

Ive been to MOLA on Spring twice, this time I went in to get my conch done. Halo was at the front desk when I came in and they were super helpful with helping me pick out the right jewelry for my piercing as well as recommending good aftercare. They were super friendly and helped calm my nerves before I went back to get pierced. Brian was my piercer and he was very professional and he explained everything he was going to do before he did it. This is the only piercing shop Ive been to in SC and I wouldnt send anyone anywhere else.

This place was fine when we walked in, as soon as my friend was asking for the cheaper earrings they got weird: they clearly wanted to make their money. We had two piercing for one appointment and I changed my mind about my piercing. They wouldn’t refund me the full amount and took 35 for the appointment when my friend still got pierced. I was very uncomfortable and I really think they shouldOf refunded me after I decided to not get the piercing. Over all the worst piercing place I’ve been to. I’ve been to a ton of piercing shops and tattoo shops with great experience. The girls were rude. Don’t recommend. My friends piercing looks good. The price was ridiculous.

I never leave reviews but, after reading so many negatives I thought it was best to share. Our experience was above and beyond our expectations. I brought my daughter here for her sixth birthday to get her ears pierced. She was kind of nervous and quite frankly I was nervous how she would do as well. The sales associate Alisa was super nice and friendly. But most of all, I was really blown away with Brian Gillespie! He had the most calm demeanor and was very professional! He went through everything step by step and quickly put my daughter and myself at ease! I was very impressed with his knowledge and kindness! This place was super clean and had an amazing selection. It was somewhat pricey but, you get you pay for! I love my new moon 18 karat gold earrings! Well be back for any other piercings we get in the future! I definitely recommend coming here.

I had such a great experience getting my septum pierced at this MOLA. Not only is it incredibly clean and professional, but the staff is excellent. I was greeted upon walking in by the three women behind the counter. They were welcoming, helpful and made me feel very comfortable. One woman took her time showing me the jewelry selection appropriate for my piercing, and answered all my questions about pricing. Jen pierced my septum and did such a great job. She was also nice and fun to chat with. The piercing process was sterile and swift, with a beautiful end result. Thank you MOLA!

Rogan was seriously amazing! He was so patient with my friend and I even though we were both super nervous. He didn’t rush us at all, and had no problem answering any questions or concerns, even if I needed reassurance multiple times.If you are ever going to get a piercing, Rogan is the person to go to! I can’t emphasize enough how comfortable he made it, and how great of an experience it was overall.

The service was great and everyone was super nice, but the price was just unbelievable. I took my friend to get their ears pierced and we both had no idea that it would cost them over $200 total for a simple lobe piercing. They had to pay for each earring individually and the cheapest one was over $50. They also had to pay a $35 fee just to make an appointment, then pay more money for the service itself. It was way more than we were planning to spend, but this is the only place in Charleston that does piercings so we didn’t have any other options. It would’ve been better if they were more upfront about the prices before you make an appointment so you know how much you’re actually going to spend.

Went in for 2 repiercings (I had previous piercings done in another state by another piercer) and I must say it was the BEST piercing experience Ive had so far. First, selection of jewelry was awesome. It was as painless as possible. The place was insanely clean and the staff was super welcoming and ready to help. My piercer was awesome, made me feel comfortable, and was very informative. Definitely would recommend to anyone!

I was visiting Charleston and found this shop on the same street as my AirBnB. I was a walk in and treated so extremely well. Halo, the sales assistant was so patient and kind in helping me pick the perfect piece for my flat piercing. Zach was the piercer and did a fantastic job of keeping me calm and relaxed. Zach had to actually repierce the area due to having it done wrong at a spot in my hometown. It was one of the best piercing experiences I have ever had!

The lady that pierced my ears and the receptionist were both very pleasant and helpful. I have never pierced anything and I decided to get 4 ear piercings.. I was very pleased with the results. If you’re prepared to pay a premium for an extremely high quality piercing experience and with an equally high quality selection of jewelry (even if it’s your first piercing), this is the place for you. Highly recommend!

Ive been to plenty of piercing studios around the Charleston area and I can honestly say that my experience here has been like no other. The service is simply unmatched as all of my needs and concerns were addressed without question. I was actually surprised with how well-kept this place is- very clean, organized, and professional. One quality that stands out with this studio is its great jewelry selection. They helped me pick out something that really worked well me. Since my first experience here, I have returned for all of my piercings and I do not foresee myself taking my piercing business elsewhere.

This is THE go-to piercing shop in Charleston! I’ve gone 3 times now, and received outstanding customer service and piercing execution every time. The piercers here are truly amazing at what they do, professional, consistent, thoughtful, and super informative on aftercare and things to consider when getting a piercing. I live most of the time in Ohio where piercing noses isn’t allowed right now. I come to Folly Beach about every other month for a couple of weeks. I began to read reviews and finally decided Museum of Living Art had the best reviews. The scheduling was easy and my questions were answered promptly.I had been thinking of a nose piercing for over two years. I’m a bit older so wanted to be sure. Yes, t he jewelry options seemed limited but they were just what I wanted and they were quality! I may be wrong maybe studs are all you can get to begin with. They had beautiful jewelry, that is for sure.Everything was so tasteful, clean and professional. Jenn was especially kind, funny and great to work with. Ask for her! I’m going to say something you may not believe but this is totally true! I felt zero, zilch pain. NONE! I had no pain later. No swelling I could tell. Here I am three days later still with no pain, no redness etc. If that isn’t quality work I don’t know what is!

Had such a great experience at Mola Body Piercing! Halo styled my ear with the coolest, most-beautiful pieces. I came in for multiple ear piercings including a helix and conch and they spent a solid two hours making sure I was happy with the jewelry and worked with my budget. So happy to have found this spot with such talented professionals! Cant wait to go back.

Went in 20 minutes early for an appointment and was totally handled professionally. The staff is extremely knowledgeable and accommodating with answering questions about their products and services. The entire process was completely easier and less painful than I expected it to be. Idk about jewelry prices and so on, I went to a place that was highly recommended and would have paid whatever due to the fact my piercing is in my nostril and I wanted a quality job.

While on vacation in Charleston I stumbled upon this shop near my Airbnb. I had no intention of getting a piercing but have had my daith pierced for a while and had been wanting a quality piece of jewelry. All of the staff was super helpful and hospitable. While the piece I picked was basic and bit pricey (18k white gold), it will probably stay in my ear forever. Brian put my new jewelry in for me and went through everything step by step. Super appreciate the staff, quality of jewelry and professionalism!

MOLA is the only piercing place i go to! i’ve gotten my paired center eyebrows and vertical labret done here. super cool environment and great people. i’ve always been made comfortable with and aware of what was going on with my piercings. will visit again

I received my first piercing here, it was a septum piercing. I was very nervous but Brian and Alleis (sorry if that’s incorrect spelling!) made me feel so welcomed and comfortable I forgot how nervous I was. The procedure was quick and they made me laugh to help mask any pain I felt. I was suggested the perfect jewelry size and color, it fits my face so incredibly well. I could not be more happy about my piercing OR my experience. I would definitely recommend MOLA on Soring St to anyone looking for a piercing. Thank you guys so so much!!!!!!!

Ive been to the shop on Savannah highway multiple times and had a great experience every time. I decided to check out the new shop and was equally impressed. Incredibly clean, another large selection of jewelry and a comfortably private piercing room. The shop has a modern look and excellent service just like the original studio. Never had a bad piercing done with these guys, theyre great at what they do.

I love this shop!! Ive been pierced a dozen times! I REALLY dig that they carry such a large selection of real gold and I can custom order jewelry!  Its well lit and everything is displayed well. The staff are super nice and knowledgeable, they answered all my questions. I always leave confident my piercing will heal well, my jewelry is top quality, and that I have the best advise on after care! Def recommend to anyone wanting some new piercings or jewelry! 5 stars because 10 stars isnt an option

The experience at MOLA is far more than a your average piercing experience, its walking into a wonderland of quality products and amazing service. The the clear and specific knowledge of products given by Alisa was astoundingly helpful and I cant thank her enough for guiding me in the right direction. Went in with a friend to get my second flat and her tragus pierced. We have both been to many other businesses for piercings but our experience with Janelle out-shined them all! Large selection of high quality jewelry and very professional attitudes. Janelle has quite gentle hands and my pain and swelling is far less than with my first flat piercing. Would more than recommend going here for your first or tenth piercing!

So professional and clean and knowledgeable. I went to get both of my nipples pierced for their Friday the 13th special and Michael was great. I was worried dealing with a man doing my nipple piercings, but his professionalism put me at ease, even with a line of people out the door.I did have some issues with the jewelry being ill-fitting, but Janelle and Laura made sure to get everything fixed for me, free of charge. I thought I was being a nuisance, but Janelle made sure that I felt validated in my concerns and was helped fit me with jewelry that fits me perfectly, now. Thank you, Janelle!Their jewelry is beautiful here and super unique (walrus tusk hangers?!). Theyll even do custom orders for you in the correct gauge and color. I just have basic piercing jewelry right, now but Ill definitely be back to order new jewelry later on.Overall, the piercings are healing super well and dont even hurt less than a month in, which I attribute to Michaels skills and advice. Ill definitely be back again to get some ear piercings and my belly done :)

Went in for a quick change of my girlfriends naval ring to a glass piece for her MRI the next day. Ended up staying for an hour with Rebekah talking about different beautiful pieces. I ended up getting my conch pierced with a lovely rose gold shell piece.Rebekah was extremely inviting, kind, knowledgeable, and stepped us through everything. She makes these incredible chains that are custom made for whatever you may want (were going back and picking up a few). The place is also very very clean and welcoming, I cant recommend this place enough. If you are going to get anything pierced get it done here, its worth it, your body and piercing will thank you. And at the end of the day you want to look your best and Museum Of Living Arts Body Piercings will make sure you do!

The customer service was 5 stars, but absolutely nothing can make up for the price not to mention I assumed at least a mini after care kit would be included. BEWARE there are other quality shops in the area for a large fraction of the cost. I have a video of my service she had to force the needle through my left piercing and I could hear a loud break in skin which wasnt an issue until I realized it is not straight like the other and its already giving me the most issues pain wise. A comment she made about only having dark ink to mark where she would place the needle could also contribute to that being that my skin is darker leading to not much room for contrast. My piercer was GREAT and everyone in the shop was welcoming, but Im disappointed with the end results.

Best Ive ever dealt with! Unfortunately my initial daith piercings were done not here. I had allergic reactions from jewelry the name that shall not be spoken before so it was assumed that is what happened a few months ago when my left piercing became painfully swollen. The amazing young woman, Im bad with names, took both daith piercings out and was so kind. It was not an easy removal of the left. I let them heal for a few months then set appointment to have both sides redone. Wonderful experience, night and day compared to the other place. Fast forward to last night.....again my left side became swollen but worse this time bc infection. Left piercing removed and at the gentlemans recommendation put chamomile tea bag on the wound when I got home. He also noticed I keep having issues bc of the angle of the original piercing (not done at MOLA). Night and day difference from last night to this morning! I cant thank the whole crew there enough for the professionalism, kindness and just overall experience. I will definitely recommend people to only go to MOLA and will absolutely return late this year to get left daith piercing done properly.

The staff here are so helpful and accommodating. I originally went in to get a daith or industrial piercing, but was unfortunately told that because of my ear shape that they were not suitable piercings for me. Instead of just leaving it at that, they helped me figure out why I wanted that particular jewelry and recommended other piercings and other jewelry to get the same effect. Unfortunately I had to leave before I actually picked something out, but I will be back soon to get a piercing from them. The staff is knowledgeable and comfortable, and their shop is clean and welcoming.

I was visiting for my sisters bachelorette from Florida and decided as the oldest that I would also be the coolest and get my nose pierced. I was really happy when I saw that you guys only use real gold jewelry as I am super sensitive to most other metals. The whole experience from start to finish was amazing. Michael and vivyana were so nice and Vivyana was super patient with us as it was a group of 5 women. I am so glad I decided to go here and learned really quickly that you get get what you pay for and although it was pricey it was worth it for the quality and experience.

So pleased with my experience today at MOLA on Spring st! So nice and professional and I felt completely at ease. Jen did my piercing and it was so much better than i expected. I will go back if i decide to get something else pierced, and I’ll definitely send my friends when they ask me where to go!!

Horribly overpriced and view themselves as above all other piercing studios in the area. Poor communication skills regarding special orders and a small credit card issue. Will be reporting to APP as they are not a great facility to have listed. I FULLY understand the concern of not receiving money HOWEVER they did not once communicate to me that my order was not going to be fulfilled until I reached out three times on different days.

I absolutely would not recommend this shop for your piercing needs. First, they tried to hide the more affordable jewelry and only showed me only their expensive options. I had to explicitly ask if there was anything more affordable and it was apparent they were trying to upsell and intentionally did not show me all the options. More importantly, my helix piercing cause me to be in pain for 5 days due to being pierced with a post that was too short. Although I told the piercer where I lived, near the mountains of Asheville, he did not take the elevation change into account and a few days after being pierced my ear swelled up like a balloon around the jewelry he put in my ear. It took 5 days for the swelling to go away and I had to drive to a specific shop 45 minutes from my house, pay for parking, to fix their botched job.

I appreciated a quality piercing experience. I went to pierce my second closed up holes in my lobes. They were actually able to open back up my old holes, rather than pierce my ears. So less painful, less post piercing care and then refunded a portion of my piercing fee. That would not have happened at Claire’s or the like.

I highly recommend coming here for any piercing or jewelry in Charleston. They are so friendly and knowledgeable. I’ve dealt with them several times, and each time it’s been a great experience. I was recently in the studio, and Brian and Viviana were so nice and helpful!

I recommend MOLA to anyone for their piercing needs. I recently visited this location on Spring Street to have my lip pierced on one occasion & returned a few weeks later got an industrial piercing. I had the experience of being pierced by Laura and Barkley. I must say I am extremely satisfied with both piercing experiences. There is no other place in Charleston to even consider being pierced.Go check them out :) You will be pleased with all that they offer.

I’ve had 3 piercings done here when I didn’t know as much as I do now. A good studio should have all their prices clearly listed out on their website or in their shop with little variation depending on jewelry, etc. I had a helix and my second lobes done here. Helix was about a year and a half ago and took about a year to heal (pretty normal for me) my second lobes were about a year ago and only one is fully healed and the other is still constantly irritated and red even though I clean all my piercings the same and take good care of them. As well as this they do not give you any instruction on how to get the jewelry out! At no point was I told they are pull apart earrings and spent a long time trying to unscrew what I thought was just a stubborn earring. I actually had to go BACK IN to ask how to get it out when both I and my mom couldn’t figure it out. I also went in on a separate occasion to ask them to take a look at my helix (it was just irritated but I wanted to make sure) and was told it had moved down and I should let it close and redo it after paying about $150 to have it done. I said absolutely not and am still happy with it to this day (despite the horrific price). My lobe piercings are crooked and not even at all. When I went to have these ones done I actually asked about the price and why it was so high. I was told it was because I was charged for the jewelry, post, backing, a piercing fee, and sterilization fee, and lots of other little fees here and there. I got my rook done at a studio in New Hampshire and was charged a total of about $55 for it. Their prices were clearly listed on the website and it has healed wonderfully in the past 6 months. Please don’t go here. The staff is friendly but becomes defensive when asked about anything like pricing and stuff like that. Anyone who is looking to get a piercing please pick another location. In Charleston I would recommend Exotic Impressions. Their prices are listed right on the website, no bs, no fuss. If you happen to be in New Hampshire, Medusa Body Piercing is a wonderful place with friendly staff and clearly listed pricing as well as always making sure your well taken care of and have everything you need for a well taken care of piercing (and they have a great selection of jewelry for a good price). Overall I would not recommend this place to anyone, in fact I actively tell people to avoid this place and get their piercings somewhere better.

I literally just wanted to buy two pieces of facial jewelry from them. I don’t know if piercers do not sell jewelry without an appointment, but they told me to book an appointment for a jewelry change so that they could measure everything out… I wanted to do it myself. I just wanted to purchase the jewelry and leave. They proceeded to tell me that their piercings go in from the inside as if that is unique to them lol, and also that if something did not fit that I could not bring it back, as if I didn’t already know that…. Feels wonderful to be condescended to when I literally have six piercings already. I will simply buy my piercings at Claire’s or Amazon lol…Edit: You are responding to a twenty one year old girl…. You are a business owner… At your big, grown age, I would not expect you to be so bothered by negative reviews. My review is clearly not the first negative one you have had. I would appreciate it if you would maybe adopt a different attitude or some tact, as I see you have replied to others in this same manner. You will only lose customers this way, just as you lost me lovely. I appreciate you telling me that every service you offer requires an appointment so that you can fit the jewelry, but the point was that I just wanted to buy the jewelry. You essentially just spewed information that I clearly already knew from my prior interaction with your staff. If you can, book a piercing with Brian (the assistant manager), he is incredibly nice, precise, and will talk you through everything to make sure you know what’s happening and to make sure you love the piercing spot before the needle goes in! I highly recommend museum of living arts and Brian!

Jada pierced my nostril and she was AMAZING. It was my first piercing. She talked me through the whole process, made me feel incredibly comfortable, and safe. The shop is incredibly clean and all staff members are friendly and knowledgeable. I absolutely love my new nose piercing.

I had the best experience at MOLA. Halo at the front desk helped me with picking out all my jewelry and what would look most aesthetically pleasing. They literally took me through alllll the possible options. I changed out my nose rings and septum and got my philtrum pierced all in one appointment. Michael was my piercer and was very kind. They made sure to go through all the steps and answered any questions I had. MOLA is the only piercing shop I go to.

Very disappointed in this experience. They stole mymoney. Apparently you need to read ALL their policies before you decide to go there. I read reviews prior to calling to make an appointment. Never considered that my 13 year old would not be able to get her nose pierced with my consent. When we went to the appointment they let us know that they would not allow a 13 year old to get a facial piercing. Disappointing, but I get it. But then they refused to refund my deposit even when they refused to provide a service. Both times stating that it was all on their website. I would not recommend just for the fact that if they are going to adhere to strict policies they should disclose that on the phone when making the appointment.

Vivyana was amazing! I havent been pierced in 20+ years because I was scared and OMG it was painless, efficient, and EASY!!! Im already ready to schedule my next one with them!!! They were fabulous and Im so thankful she was so good about my fears and anxiety!!!!!

At first I was stoked with my experience here. The staff was nice and respectful. And my piercer (Jenn) did a clean job with my daith as she didnt have much surface area to work with. A week in it was my easiest piercing yet. Then I developed a bump, so I messaged her on Instagram (this is what she instructed me to do if I had any questions), never heard back. So a week after my message I followed up in person and she blew me off. I just messaged her again yesterday because I saw a Dr. about the bump to make sure I wasnt developing a keloid and was advised to have the piercer change the piece because my skin is irritated by the metal. So I messaged Jenn again to see if they would change piercings out and how much it cost. No reply. So while my actual piercing experience was fine, Im not sure Id recommend them due to customer service.

Had two helix piercings done in my right ear. The staff was ok, but not very informative or polite. In total the piercings cost $175 plus a $20 tip I gave. I thought the price was outrageous, and the staff incompetent. I have never had any issues with piercings, as I have two dermals, my belly, several ear piercings, and nose pierced and they healed fine. However the cartilage in my ear did not heal well at all, which I believe is due to how it was pierced. The girl seemed the have trouble the entire time. There are plenty of better places with lower prices to have your piercings done.

Got my septum pierced here today, first piercing ever other than my ears. Zach was very kind and thoughtful when it came to my questions and concerns. If I could rate more than 5 stars I 100% would. Will be coming here again in the near future to get more piercings.

They walk you through the different jewelry options for the piercing you will get, once they do this, you do the paperwork and they take you back into a private room to get your piercing. They walk you through the entire piercing process and discuss aftercare as well. I enjoyed my experience and am pleased with visit.

I was able to just walk in with my friends and get a navel piercing. Definitely felt they took their time to make sure it would look good and was marked correctly. Really made me feel things were not rushed and were done extremely well and that they take care of their customers. All the employees I met there were kind and friendly to me.

After making the mistake of trying a new shop, being pierced with a bad rod and dealing with painful rook irritation, I came to MOLA desperate for advice. My piercer (I wish I got his name) welcomed me in, changed my bar to a full titanium one and offered me excellent advice on how to care for it. Within the day my inflamed ear is in the process of healing. Thank you thank you thank you!!

I came to MOLA on my trip to charleston for a new belly button ring. i was not dissapointed when i saw the many jewelry options and different colors they could anodize. they even offered to match the belly ring color to my staple necklace piece! she changed my jewlery for me & made sure it fit properly. very sweet staff and great service.

I was visiting South Carolina and accidentally lost a ball to my septum ring, and to find a place around there that even sells them was like a needle in a haystack, so to find this place I was happy until they told me how much a standard horseshoe sterling silver septum ring was....I paid 55 dollars for a septum ring that has the thread on the ball so if I lose the ball on this one i would have to buy a whole new piece of jewelry AGAIN! I would never buy from them again the prices were ridiculous

I went to this location to get a new ring for my nose and due to covid I couldnt be in there without an appointment which I understand , but the problem is that I asked brian if the ring I was purchasing was the correct size and he said yes. so I left and realized the the ring he said that would fit doesnt. I was in a meeting and thought it would be easy because they were downtown, I asked about making an appointment because I thought I would have time to and when I asked he would rudely say you can look online at the website like your literally sitting at your computer doing nothing!!! Why cant you look? so I then called back again because I wanted a refund im just not satisfied with the customer service and business I received. now mind you I was keeping my tone as professional as I could , so I called the location and a woman picked up and told her I wanted a refund and you can hear how frustrated and mad she was getting and then she passed the phone over to Brian and he said that they wouldnt be able to give me a refund but that they could do something else (which I didnt trust them at this point to touch my face because you could literally cut the attitude through the phone with a knife) I proceeded to explain to him that I should have to suffer the consequences because of your false judgement he then said ok this is my 3 time repeating this to you) like excuse me ? I have never been talked to in such a way and at this point im completely irritated and then he hung the phone up on me. I had got in contact with the general manager about the situation and still no help , so now im out of money because of the EMPLOYEE NOT KNOWING. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THESE PEOPLE , TAKE IT ELSEWHERE.

We calmed 2 other planes, $50 and 60 jewelry included. Buyer beware, if you arent able to pay the $80+ for a noes ring, steer clear!!!

Rebekah is so unprofessional. She struggled with putting my daith piercing in, kept dropping the ball then would comment shes just trying to make sure my ball is in tight, but how is that possible when its a struggle with putting it in. Plus she pinched my skin 2x with the tool. When I ask to speak to a manager of course she stated she was so when I ask for a refund she refuse.....poor experience & customer service with a bad attitude. Plus I forgot to mention her male friend who she allowed to walk in the room while i was being service..no privacy......

Literally JUST walked out the door. I lost a ball on my new septum piercing (done by Janelle in the WA location) after searching for about a day & a half just walked in to the downtown location. Brian & Jenn greeted me as soon as I walked in the door & asked what I came in for. I was in & out in all of about 5 minutes, and got to meet a fellow USAF brat in the process. THANKS GUYS!!!
